In this hilariously chaotic and deeply entertaining Tuesday night edition of The Sports Cave with Biggest Puma, host Sam Freas and the crew take listeners on a rollercoaster of sports, personal mishaps, and cultural commentary that you won’t want to miss. From the top, Cap recounts a barstool disaster at a swanky Stone Oak speakeasy that left him flat on his back—and his dignity in pieces.

As the crew gears up for the NBA season opener featuring the Spurs vs. Mavs, they dive into the crumbling state of their sports worlds, including a brutally honest Cowboys breakdown and assorted NFL Week 3 observations. College football, Mike Irvin antics, and a lightning round of hot takes round out the sports coverage. But it’s not all touchdowns and turnovers—a standout moment includes the Roommate going full West Texan on a power-tripping librarian, proving that even the quietest places can spark the loudest confrontations.

Whether it’s debating Yankees stats, dodging HOA drama, or celebrating Charlie Sheen’s bisexual awakening, this episode is packed with energy, humor, and the kind of raw authenticity that makes The Sports Cave a must-listen. If you enjoyed what you heard, don’t forget to hit that subscribe button!

Drop us a super chat, leave a review, and share this episode with your crew. Help us hit our goal of 1,000 subs and keep the Cave alive and kicking. Got a hot take or random thought? Send it in—we might just feature it in the lightning round!

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Like be lie be, lie be lie.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
Oh God, you gotta love it when a mustache hair
tickles your nose. Right as you're hearing that light.

Speaker 1 (00:17):
The beam curls up.

Speaker 2 (00:21):
This is what happens when I take a shower, light
the beam. Welcome into a Tuesday night edition of the
Sports Cave with Biggest Puma.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
Sounds like a monthly thing for you.

Speaker 2 (00:29):
I am not far off, buddy, not far off. I
am your host, Sam Freeze, as always joined by the
cap here in the room, uh and LG in parts
unknown here on the north side of San Antonio, where
fellas we are officially under a month away from NBA

(00:50):
Opening Night, well from spurs portion battle of.

Speaker 1 (00:54):
The number one number two draft picks.

Speaker 2 (00:56):
Huh, it's pretty fun. I'm getting I'm actually getting a
little geeked. I I mean, unfortunately, we'll talk the.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
Only thing you right now. Yeah, that's I mean.

Speaker 2 (01:05):
Everything in my sports world is crumbling.

Speaker 1 (01:08):
So yes, you're not far off from me, you know.

Speaker 2 (01:11):
Come on, I might be already looking officially twenty nine
days ahead to Spurs opening night up in Dallas. Yeah,
as you, as you alluded to, everything is crumbling and
we are unfortunately here to talk about it. Of course
we'll talk Cowboys and the rest of NFL Week three

(01:32):
observations in the main SEGI tonight, got some weekend sports
to get to as well, got some college football to
talk about. There have some some fun Mike Irvin audio
and video to get to there and weekend sports and
then as always, a little lightning round to close it out.

(01:54):
How are we doing?

Speaker 1 (01:55):
Yeah, fellas is a long weekend. Man. A lot of
stuff went down that was generic, A lot of stuff. Yeah,
like uh my big bud on the ground. Oh well, well.

Speaker 2 (02:10):
I think our National Day celebration can wait.

Speaker 1 (02:13):
I need to whoa oh man, don't let me take
away from that some day celebration. But I will say
I will never be sitting on a swivel barstool again.
Oh no, Yeah, you're like, you know, a man my
size with my girth. Yeah, and I can get out

(02:38):
damn near man, damn near, like I can hear when
things are about to go bad with that with said seat. Sure,
said stool. You know you can get a little few cracks,
Like you know, there's definitely starts leaning one way.

Speaker 2 (02:52):
There's an ominous sound.

Speaker 1 (02:53):
Especially like you know, I'm ready for it, like especially
now really with my bad back and everything, and like
I'm like, man, I'm like I never trusted these seats anyway.
But then like I've been to this establishment to shout
out the hushroom up in Stone Oak area. Man, if
you guys want to go to a nice establishment with
the expensive drinks and lit atmosphere.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
I was about to say that either sounds like a
pay for club membership to get in kind of established
yeahom yeah, or or it's a cocktail.

Speaker 1 (03:32):
But like they did a real good job in there,
but like they bought these fancy little swivel chairs and
I'm like they still didn't put a kickbar. Like suggest
to every bar out there, if you have a bar
in stools, you put put a kickbar where someone can
put their feet on. Cause like I'm right at that
height where I can't put my feet on the ground,

(03:52):
but I can't sit there and jack them up all
high and put them on like the little so you're
like a little kid with his says dangling. Or I'd
sit with like one ash cheek on the thing, you know,
which is usually what I do. Is I do with
the one ass cheek just in case something's gonna break and.

Speaker 2 (04:09):
For for moments like this, you might say.

Speaker 1 (04:12):
This gave me no no indication it was gonna break.

Speaker 2 (04:15):
Oh it was.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
I sat on these chairs like a couple of times.
It was an instantaneous broke into about fifteen different pieces
and I'm straight on my back, all within a matter
of about one like a split second. Dude, in front
of my friend's family, sisters and a dive bar on

(04:36):
the east side. This is the hushroom, and this thing
shattered into like fifteen pieces, like I could have been stabbed,
like it ripped, it ripped my underwear like it was
like I was talking to a little lady friend of
mine and yeah, it was very embarrassing.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
And oh no, she was sitting right. This just keeps
getting better, ye, some worse.

Speaker 1 (05:03):
And I get up and they're like, we're getting rid
of all those chairs. And I was like, well, that
seemed like a manufactured error because like it's like nothing cracked,
Like the leg didn't go out. I mean it went
to fifteen pieces, like it was disassembled like a Lego set. Yeah,
And I was like, what, how how much did you
spend on this? Eric?

Speaker 2 (05:24):
I would assume, judging by the establishment, I would assume
that was probably a heavy investment.

Speaker 1 (05:31):
Well, they got rid of all that. They took them
all out because they're like, that's a liability. Yeah, and
I'm like, I'm not gonna sue you whatnot. But also
I come down but like I was like, I don't
have a bar tab the rest of it. I did not.
I was like, I mean, give me another tequila there, right? Yeah?
But I was like, and then the worst thing is

(05:52):
that I get a phone, get a text message. Are
you all right? L I just saw the video. Oh no,
I text I have to have this.

Speaker 2 (06:06):
We're not someone leak it someone we.

Speaker 1 (06:09):
Have already threatened his life.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
And he was like that's when the lassuit comes.

Speaker 1 (06:13):
Is when that I was like, are you serious, bro?
Are you sharing the video? And he's like, why just
show our mutual friend because she was wondering why we
didn't have the other chairs in here, and like it
wasn't You could have just told her it wasn't malicious.
And I don't think you're being malicious. You just being
a dick. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:31):
Again, we made it all of six minutes until we
broke FCC rules.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
There.

Speaker 2 (06:36):
That's a good one again, that one doesn't pass, that
one doesn't just like last week. That one doesn't pass.

Speaker 1 (06:44):
Well, if I say it enough, it will pass.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
I hope, uh, I hope your I hope your body
is recovered in time.

Speaker 1 (06:50):
My back was horrible last night.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
It was like to celebrate national celebrate my sexuality. Kind
of seems like.

Speaker 1 (07:02):
By curious Day. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (07:03):
Again, it felt like my initial thought on what the
hush room was felt like it might be a place
where you go to celebrate bisexuality days.

Speaker 1 (07:13):
Like maybe maybe I like getting whipped by a man.

Speaker 2 (07:17):
Yeah, I feel the h This on the hills of
noted bisexual Harry Styles running a sub three hour marathon
over the weekend. It feels like the bisexuals are truly
having a moment.

Speaker 1 (07:32):
As Charlie Sheen came out as a bisexual. Oh that's right, yeah,
he said, that's put that menu over and said, how
about it.

Speaker 2 (07:39):
Yeah, drugs or drugs will make you reconsider a lot
of life decisions.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
Apparently you only get one life. I mean, what's a
go on? Yeah, yeah, go on?

Speaker 2 (07:53):
I mean again, I uh, those are actually scientific terms,
so you can say those those are medical terms. Uh yeah, no,
there's still talking about there's still a huge difference there.
But I nonetheless, I will celebrate alongside you and Charlie
Sheen on this. It's also National Restless Legs Awareness Day.

Speaker 1 (08:14):
Oh I got those. My sheets are at the end
of the bed, every morning.

Speaker 2 (08:18):
Man taking too much tailand all. That's what that tells me.
And we're still waiting on the rapture, so oh yeah,
I just saw this on We've got about three hours
on the book face five minutes here until.

Speaker 1 (08:30):
Is this like moons and stuff? A lining or?

Speaker 2 (08:32):
I think it was a South African pastor that went
viral on TikTok predicting it that it was gonna uh,
I mean our homeboy out here down the street, uh,
not to give away our location. What's his name? Helped me, LG.
What's the mega hagi?

Speaker 1 (08:48):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (08:48):
He predicts the end of the world like once every decade.

Speaker 1 (08:51):
Yeahs to be and then twenty twelve and then.

Speaker 2 (08:57):
Yeah, twelve was at the Mayan calendar, right, yeah, being
calendar ended in twelve and no word.

Speaker 1 (09:04):
About COVID and an actual pandemic going on.

Speaker 2 (09:08):
No, no, no pandemics. That's that's just that's Hollywood fodder for
a horror movie, LG. Since I can hear you through drops,
why don't you tell the good people how they can
help support the program.

Speaker 1 (09:22):
Here, Yo, we'll hit that subscribe button that will help
support the program. You can throw a super chat in there.
That would be cool, fun for fun with framing.

Speaker 2 (09:34):
Yeah, we're still the March to one thousand commences. From
this point forward. We are over five hundred Subby's now
on YouTube, so the super chats are open again if
you do so feel inclined to throw a super chat
out there. If it's on topic, we'll try to mix
it in. If it's something completely random, has nothing to

(09:56):
do with anything, we'll try to We'll squeeze it in
at the end of the show and the lightning round.

Speaker 1 (10:00):
Yep. We also have that Amazon list still up there
in the description.

Speaker 2 (10:04):
If you're feeling generous, we need new microphones and you
want to.

Speaker 1 (10:07):
Support another billionaire in this business. I I've been considering.

Speaker 2 (10:13):
So I've been watching my old my high schools football
games on YouTube because they run their own channel.

Speaker 1 (10:19):
Now you're Al Bundy in it, so now a little bit.
But man, look look at that player. I did it
real good.

Speaker 2 (10:25):
I mean, the sounds in one game history, dude, they're
massively overrated. They're they're they're having uh they're having their
come umbits this year. But all of the everything is sponsored,
and it's got me thinking I might need to reach
out to somebody to get a.

Speaker 1 (10:45):
Sports Call sponsor the Red Zone or we have our
very own alumni with the Sports Cave Live sponsor to
you by.

Speaker 2 (10:54):
They're already on my ass to try to get me
to move back chair to actually do the games.

Speaker 1 (10:59):
But maybe I'll just sponsor Yes brought to you by
Blue Shoe. That's UHR to win this game as the
thirty eight and up shout out to Roy the one
ninety nine super Chat appreciate you. The Rapture is coming, man.

Speaker 2 (11:15):
I was upset. Like the Rapture was actually a big
talking point in my childhood.

Speaker 1 (11:19):
It was like the Mind Calendar, Left Wall was all.

Speaker 2 (11:23):
It was heavy religious. It was the Left Behind.

Speaker 1 (11:26):
Series and all the Leftovers.

Speaker 2 (11:29):
You well that one too, Yeah, that's left Behind was
it was like James Dobson focused on the family, did it.
I think, uh, Kurt Cameron was in the movie at one,
but it's just the Rapture and it's like it was
like heavy, heavy, heavy heavy. Yeah. I know that in
between in between reading the Bible cover to cover in

(11:51):
chronological order. We were also reading the Left Behind series,
So shout out to all of y'all still waiting on
the raps. Cross your fingers, don't hold your breath. We
still got three and a half hours till midnight, So
we'll see, we'll we'll keep tabs on that. We'll see
what happens there. But we have a lot to get
to tonight, these Tuesday night shows, a lot of football

(12:14):
to get to. But before we do that, let's do
a quick weekend recap. I didn't end up on the
ground anywhere this week like you unfortunately.

Speaker 1 (12:24):
Oh well, if you weren't on the ground, you were
hitting home runs. Give me a hold on, hold on,
did you just stop my yankee?

Speaker 2 (12:33):
There's weekend recap and then there's weekends. If somebody looked
at the run sheet that we send out.

Speaker 1 (12:39):
Is that that was that? What that is? That's what
that is?

Speaker 2 (12:42):
Look, it's very I even gave you a space to differentiate. Now,
my weekend recap's quick. I stayed up all night Sunday night.
I was up till five.

Speaker 1 (12:54):
I get just do the show, bitch the show.

Speaker 2 (12:59):
Read the It's very it's very Houston's what was it,
Patrick Creighton and the other dude over there, very much.
If you just ran, I send you the run sheet
every day.

Speaker 1 (13:09):
Just look at the run cheat bitch back to you.

Speaker 2 (13:13):
I was up till five something am Sunday because we
did another airport drop off with the roommate early Monday.
That's I got. I dressed myself tonight. I'll have a
collar on.

Speaker 1 (13:25):
I'm surprised there's not a button out out of sort
right there. Well I'm not.

Speaker 2 (13:29):
I'm not gonna lie.

Speaker 1 (13:30):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (13:31):
It might have taken a couple of efforts to get there,
a couple of tries.

Speaker 1 (13:35):
Now, I stayed.

Speaker 2 (13:36):
I did the all nighter, stayed up, so my sleep
schedules all whack right now, Like.

Speaker 1 (13:40):
It's you stayed up till five and kept it going.

Speaker 2 (13:43):
I did. And after watching NFL football all day Sunday
and watching the Sunday night game, there was there was
a lot of ups and downs in terms of energy levels.

Speaker 1 (13:55):
So how drunk did you? How drunk were you at
six o'clock?

Speaker 2 (13:58):
So that's this is why it was actually easier because
I had a pretty good nap in between the hours
of after the Cowboy game and during the first half
of Sunday Night Football. So like I got a little
energy bump there, a little snoozer, and then locked into
my locked into my Madden franchise where the Cowboys actually

(14:21):
win games. Although the year is now twenty twenty nine, you.

Speaker 1 (14:26):
Got the one Native American tier coming down your face
as you're doing your franchise. We used to because.

Speaker 2 (14:33):
It's not far off. You are not far off. Before
the roommate left for Nashville. Though, I got very very
rarely this, I mean this won't come as a shock
to either one of y'all because you know her so well.
She very rarely finds herself in the same kind of
confrontations that I do. Oh yeah, she's not honking or

(14:54):
flipping people off on the highway. She's not getting into
fights with lesbian over college softball at torches.

Speaker 1 (15:03):
She's not just.

Speaker 2 (15:06):
Conflict doesn't cross her path too often.

Speaker 1 (15:10):
Sometimes someone people just need to be smacked, you know.

Speaker 2 (15:14):
Well, this weekend, the woman that needed to be smacked
was a city employee working in the Almost Park library.

Speaker 1 (15:22):
Oh my god, in a library, dude, Just what do
you what are you cruising the library for? So we're
we're proper liberals.

Speaker 2 (15:30):
We're heavy library users.

Speaker 1 (15:31):
Come on, you can find anything on the internet, man. Yeah,
but reading a book.

Speaker 2 (15:37):
We do a lot of library so it actually and
she's been she's about to start a book club. I
think actually because she's doing Dude, she's reading like eight
nine books a week. It's ridiculous.

Speaker 1 (15:48):
Uh. And she means everything like nonfiction, fition all.

Speaker 2 (15:52):
Over the place, self help god man said that real
country said that like Troy last night on the Hint,
the Henrietta and Me came out.

Speaker 1 (16:03):
She learned how to do real estate right now.

Speaker 2 (16:05):
No, the problem, we never have any issue. We go
to the Central Library. We live downtown or live right
there by the dome, so we just pop over there.

Speaker 3 (16:14):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (16:15):
But she wanted since it was the weekend, I wanted
to actually spend some time at a library. So uh,
I told her, you know, college football is on, enjoyed
the library. I'll be here, let me know if you
need anything.

Speaker 1 (16:31):
Something about went off at the library.

Speaker 2 (16:33):
So about an hour later, after she had left the house,
I get a call from her talking about how she's
never felt more disrespected, couldn't believe what just happened. And
I'm like, wait, wait, wait, you're in you're at the
you're at the land of library, like you're at you're
in almost and you're like, what the hell happened to
you talking?

Speaker 1 (16:54):
That's a safe space, exactly.

Speaker 2 (16:56):
So long story short, we usually don't drop books off there.
We drop them off at the central library. So when
she got there, she dropped a couple books off and
then started walking around doing library things whatever that is.
And then as she was still at the library, she
gets a call, answers the call, and it's this woman

(17:19):
that she can hear the person who's talking because it's
someone in the library, so she could hear the other
person talking while she's like holding her phone down and
like she's just trying to figure out who this is
calling her.

Speaker 1 (17:31):
I'm surprised she could hear because aren't you she supposed
to whisper.

Speaker 2 (17:34):
In the library, not when you're the one that runs
the library. Apparently you make the rules there. Yeah, man,
And that's exactly what it was. This old this old
older lady, this old broad was calling Steph to tell
her that she was responsible for paying for the book
that she had just turned in. It was damaged beyond

(17:57):
the point of being allowed back into circulation with the
rest of the library books and she wouldn't be able
to check out any other books until she cleared her
balance and paid for this one. Uh, and she could
she could come in and pay with cash or not cash,
pay with uh you know, uh credit credit credit.

Speaker 1 (18:17):
Yeah, exactly, you step it, step on it with your
little wing feet or what. No, it wasn't.

Speaker 2 (18:22):
There wasn't as ants and wing sauce weren't involved in
this one.

Speaker 1 (18:26):
Some cheesy ranch.

Speaker 2 (18:27):
So she notices, you know, there were like a couple
of uh like cup rings on different pages, but it
was nothing. There was like three instances where there was
something on a page, granted a two hundred and something
page book.

Speaker 1 (18:42):
And there's even like I don't see her putting a
cup on a No.

Speaker 2 (18:45):
But again, when you go through the central library, the
people at the central library are like, oh my god,
you brought the book back. Holy hell, Like, can we
can we give you a gift?

Speaker 1 (18:58):
Here's a gift card Amazon for have.

Speaker 2 (19:00):
A pizza party. Like it's very it's a very different experience.
So this old lady, just drunk with power from the
specific bureaucracy, is telling stuff that yeah, no, this book
she didn't feel I don't feel comfortable recirculating this book,
so we're gonna have to buy a new one and stuff.

(19:23):
Flat out told the lady. She's like, look, I'm not
doing that. I've never had any issue. This is the
first time this has ever happened. The next time I
see a single speck of dirt in a book, I
will call you specifically, Teresa and let you know this book.

Speaker 1 (19:44):
It's the.

Speaker 2 (19:46):
Rich housewife Teresa, married to the lawyer, working part time
at the land of Library. So for the first time
in years I saw Steph to the point of like confrontation,
and it was.

Speaker 1 (20:02):
At the god dang library popcorn up there. I told her,
I I it was a.

Speaker 2 (20:11):
Very it was a very tough balance of showing support
while also just trying not to just laugh at the
absurdity of what the position that she had put herself in,
or that she found herself in, I should say it was.
But it was good to see. It was good to
see that she still got that fire.

Speaker 1 (20:30):
And then like with the while on the phone, goes
around the corner and just like stares at Teresa, so
what be like, I will not do that.

Speaker 2 (20:38):
She did go a little passive aggressive at one point
because she like started just looking for books in the
library that had any kind of smudge or any and
she took three of them to Teresa was like, hey,
you might want to check these out because it looks
like they might need to be pulled from circulator. You know,
where you penalize individuals by making them pay for it,

(21:01):
and you actually deprive other individuals from getting to read
the book. That's still perfectly fine, it's just a it's
a different set of standards in certain parts of this.

Speaker 1 (21:12):
You know. That was her. That was the person she called.

Speaker 2 (21:14):
Oh one thousand percent because she because this is the
thing I love about stuff. She is a proper West
Texan and she asked for her by name so she
could deliver this message face to face. Because you have
you have managed to piss her off, which is incredibly
difficult most of the time. That no, no, no, now there

(21:36):
there will be always.

Speaker 1 (21:38):
Get the name and like what was it? The The
missus always was like, you're gonna go talk to that person.
You're getting his name because you want to talk to
him in person. I'm like, oh, yeah, a thousand and
I'm gonna talk to him real close. I'm gonna stand
above them because I guarantee he's short. You know, half
the time these people are the guys are short who
get all like phone phone tough and text message tough,

(22:01):
and I'm just like distance tough. Hey, buddy, what was
the problem here? What was that? Yeah? What was that?

Speaker 2 (22:07):
Let me read that exact text where you said, why
don't you come down here and have this conversation in person?

Speaker 1 (22:13):
Yeah, I'm here.

Speaker 2 (22:14):
Let the conversation come out.

Speaker 1 (22:16):
That's what I got voted on my speaking of hoas
that you don't have but I do. Uh, I'm a
person of influence in my HOA only because I've like
shouted out the ladies who wanted to like put up
pictures of kids who didn't pick up dog poop that
was my kid one time. Will I dealt with them properly? Yeah,

(22:37):
that's ridiculous. I made them pick up all the trash
in our entry way for two days over the weekend
with the orange.

Speaker 2 (22:42):
Vest, so at least.

Speaker 1 (22:45):
I was like, I will take care of this. This
is but they wanted to post the picture everywhere and
then we need to go to that person's house altogether,
all we all and I'm like, what is this a
guitar and feathering and stuff, and i'd be on there.
I'm like, y'all need to settle down, man, And these
kids at the pool and I'm like, tell them to
shut up their kids. I was like, their kids, I

(23:07):
doubt they're gonna yell at you. And if they do
a lot like shut that handle it down, you know
what I'm saying, Like, just like, come on, man, open
y'all's mouth. Don't just open your phone. Open your mouth.

Speaker 2 (23:20):
No phones, The phone is just way easier.

Speaker 1 (23:23):
Yes, but yeah, no, I have been.

Speaker 2 (23:26):
I've been. Officially my whole day is flipped upside down
since I had stayed up Sunday night.

Speaker 1 (23:33):
But it's like it's so dark you're supposed to be
light right now.

Speaker 2 (23:39):
It really so. It's eight thirty. Yeah, it feels like
it's about like two in the afternoon for me right now.
Oh buddy, just thinking up up til about six, I did. Yeah,
oh man, I did not too far off. But yeah,
besides that little bit of housekeeping news as well, I

(23:59):
got knocked or nailed down over the weekend, I will
be filling in for Uncle Andy on Ticket seven sixty
Friday Friday afternoon, his normal show for to seven over there.
I feel bad it's Ryder Cup Friday, and Uncle Andy's
off because of UTSA travels.

Speaker 1 (24:18):
Oh man, that's usually his bag right there.

Speaker 2 (24:20):
It might work out better in his favor though, because
it means now he doesn't have to do a radio
show and he's probably going to.

Speaker 1 (24:26):
Be locked in, yeah, locked in to the Ryder Cup
all day. So you know he was gonna have his
phone on with the G with the match on.

Speaker 2 (24:34):
And you can see that is officially the last thing
I had for weekend.

Speaker 1 (24:38):
We want to drill it in some more, buddies, you
want to. I just want to make sure you know
I don't read those I know that's my whole point.

Speaker 2 (24:46):
Just read the run sheet though, so please.

Speaker 1 (24:51):
Oh on this one weekend recap and know we I
do not get doc thirty seconds James. I like that idea. No,
no LG take ten will oh you will put him
in it on the clock. We have our first Yankee
thirty thirty thirty home runs in thirty steals one. Jazz
Chisholm got his home run over the weekend, joins the

(25:13):
thirty thirty club, first Yankee to ever do it. No, Yeah,
thirty thirty man Mickey was closed A couple times, Soriano.
I'm sorry, I'm interrupted. Yeah, you are interrupting, sir, sir, Yeah,
that was a test. That was a test. This is
you can shut up. Shut up, all right. Judge his
his forty ninth home run. We go up and take

(25:36):
three out of four from the Orioles. We're only two
back from Toronto. Now we just gotta score a couple
of gun runs against one of the worst teams in
the league with the White Sox, you know, and the
Oils again, and we could steal this division back properly
owned by the Yankees, where we've only played, get this stat,
twenty eight games in our history over one hundred years.

(25:59):
That didn't mean playoff implications. Think about that.

Speaker 2 (26:06):
It was a hell of a dismount there.

Speaker 1 (26:08):
Think about that.

Speaker 2 (26:08):
I'm too busy thinking about the fact that Alfonso Soriano
didn't have one thirty thirty season. We were all back
that he didn't have one thirty thirty season. Alfonso Soriano
had two thirty season with the Yankees, two and three.

(26:29):
To what he almost in two thousand and two, he
was one home run short of a forty forty season.
He had thirty nine homers, forty.

Speaker 1 (26:39):
One but he was a runner. He was.

Speaker 2 (26:42):
He was also the prize.

Speaker 1 (26:44):
I remember we gave him up and got Cano.

Speaker 2 (26:46):
It was like a well, he was the prize return
for a Rod. That was the Rangers initially had the
Manny Rodriguez for a Rod trade and then it got voided,
and then the next day a Rod to the Yankees
for Soriano instead.

Speaker 1 (27:01):
And why would that announce her? He's maybe I think
it was like over like twenty last twenty years or
something like that.

Speaker 2 (27:07):
That's what it was. So Soriano and three was your last.

Speaker 1 (27:10):
Because I thought I heard that, and I was like, man,
none of these guys got thirty for thirty randomly. I
was like, I know, we never were running, Like.

Speaker 2 (27:19):
I don't think you'll ever guess the other there's one
other Yankee that's had a thirty thirty season. It was
nineteen seventy five, seventy five, pretty random. And I if
you would if you had given me ten guesses, I
don't think he's a name.

Speaker 1 (27:35):
Would Yeah, it's not Reggie because that would be too easy.
Not Yog that was past Yogi. I'm trying. I'm trying
to think of thirty home running.

Speaker 2 (27:46):
Yogi's moving like that it was a year in which
the Yankees were barely over five hundred. They were eighty
three and seventy.

Speaker 1 (27:54):
We were just running just because it was a bad,
bad Yankees team. It was hit me, Bobby Bonds, Bobby Bonds. Wow,
what was that Barry's older brothers.

Speaker 2 (28:05):
I believe that would be uh Barry's dad. That was
Oh that's that dad, Yeah, oh yeah, that's He played
for the Yankees along with a uh entire list. He
at one point he played for the Rangers. He was
journeyman very much. So, yeah, all over Giants, Yankees, Angels,

(28:27):
White Sox, Rangers, Indians, Cards, and Cubs. I'm gonna have
to start checking your Ranger, I mean your Yankee.

Speaker 1 (28:35):
Man. I tell you, dude, I'm the one who doesn't
get the stats, right, remember that, Well, I just had
to assume.

Speaker 2 (28:43):
I mean, that was Alfonso Sriano was the first name
that came to mind when.

Speaker 1 (28:47):
You yeah, so like when you say Alfonso, I was like, yeah,
he was a power hitter and a runner. But like
during all of like Tory and you know, wh who's
it one right before us and boom Girardi, Girardi. There
you go. I was like there's another Italian. I was like,

(29:12):
I was like, we never ran, like, we barely have
anybody over twenty steals, you know, So it was it
was always the Bronx Bombers. Yeah, and since my generation,
that's a big.

Speaker 2 (29:22):
Part of I don't think people or if they do,
if people do, realize, it doesn't get talked about enough
the way they have made the rule changes to baseball
over the last few years. Steels are one of the
most exciting parts of baseball. Like to see steals back
in the game, like the fact.

Speaker 1 (29:41):
That there was Oh I played catcher man, I love man,
the fact that I love seeing a ketcher get someone
out on the steel and just staring down.

Speaker 2 (29:47):
Just twenty two years between the Yankees having a thirty
thirty guy, and and the fact that now it's it's
no offense to jazz but looking at.

Speaker 1 (29:57):
Show, hey going forty forty fifty fifty last year. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (30:02):
Yeah, So like it feels again like baseball just getting
back to what baseball actually is and was and should be.

Speaker 1 (30:11):
As we large enlarged the bases well, and also a
difference that helps. Also what makes the difference is the
no pickoffs. Yeah, and that part, Yeah, that's a little
that's annoying.

Speaker 2 (30:24):
That's a little annoying. Yeah, speaking of baseball rule changes,
though the we also got the announcement earlier today we're
gonna get at least some form of robot fires starting
the next year.

Speaker 1 (30:38):
The coach, the batter, or the catcher can immediately tap
the top of their head. That's the signal to get
a thing. And if you win the challenge, you keep it.
If you lose it, you lose it for the for
the rest of the game.

Speaker 2 (30:52):
So it's no nothing from the coaching staff, pitcher, hitter
or catcher. Yeah, the only people that can challenge. There's
two challenges a game. If they're successful, you keep them,
and then I think what you get one per inning
and extra innings if you're out of them. We saw
this in training or in spring training, and it I mean,

(31:16):
if it feels like if you're not going to go
full robot strike zone full, if we're not gonna go
full robot strike zone, this at least kind of introduces
some balance of like if you know a guy is
just missing, he's not calling the game correctly all night,

(31:38):
Well here's your chance to cause In turn, maybe it
makes the umpires better.

Speaker 1 (31:43):
Bring Angel, dude.

Speaker 2 (31:46):
Angel is the equivalent of Nick Saban retiring from college football.
Right when Nil gets there, He's like, Nope, this isn't
I don't want to.

Speaker 1 (31:53):
Do this craft. Exactly, I'm done.

Speaker 2 (31:56):
I'm not.

Speaker 1 (31:57):
Joey Crawford like, oh, the player is gonna.

Speaker 2 (31:59):
Say absolutely not know we're done here.

Speaker 1 (32:03):
Yeah. But so another quick stat Guess who has the
most low h low balls called for strikes in the league.

Speaker 2 (32:14):
Wyatt Langford Aaron Judge Aaron Judge six seven, Yeah, exactly, Yeah,
that makes sense.

Speaker 1 (32:20):
And it was about it was it was like it
was like three hundred and something strikes called that were
out of the zone low. The next person's closest was
like one hundred and fifty behind.

Speaker 2 (32:32):
And it was probably Stanton.

Speaker 1 (32:34):
No, it was actually someone else. I totally forgot. There's
a name that doesn't ring a bell too much by
I think he had a couple of All Star games,
but I think it's just someone who works the you
know how it works the strike zone a lot.

Speaker 2 (32:45):
It'll be interesting to see a playoff game be decided
by a ball or strike replay at some point in
the next few years.

Speaker 1 (32:57):
So someone that they did I forget which program I
was watching or listening to. I think it was on
AM radio. They're like, I would rather have seen this
rule be just for strike threes or ball fours. And
he's like, because it would really it would really suck
if it's like, you know, the first pitch of the
bat and then you lose it.

Speaker 2 (33:18):
And but it's on your player or your pitcher to
be smart with them.

Speaker 1 (33:23):
It's because because you know some some player is going
to be like, don't ever call because you think everything's
out of the.

Speaker 2 (33:32):
Sure's your first pitch of every start. He's gonna like, no, challenge,
Absolutely not challenge that. I do like the the fact
that it's not coming from the dugouts, so hopefully that
means it'll be a quick Yeah, you've got to call it.

Speaker 1 (33:46):
I can't be as fast as a tennis you know,
or even so that's.

Speaker 2 (33:49):
What it's gonna be. Basically, it's the Hawkeye technology, same
kind of deal. I because again when we saw it
in in spring training, it didn't slow the game down.

Speaker 1 (34:00):
A whole whole lot.

Speaker 2 (34:02):
And like like most things, uh, theoretically the market will
handle itself in a sense where if your if your
picture is wasting your challenges, dude, it's on him, Like
you save them for strike three calls or ball four
calls or.

Speaker 1 (34:21):
A picture going on like a long inning. It will
kill your momentum. A lot of momentum talk this weekend.

Speaker 2 (34:32):
There were how did that momentum work for Nebraska after
they caught that hail mary at the end of the
first time. I'm sure it carried them to as a
massive victory.

Speaker 1 (34:42):
It's the end of a game.

Speaker 2 (34:46):
It's just momentum gained from scoring right before the half
and then they came out and dominated the second half.

Speaker 1 (34:55):
Right, Well, you pissed off the other team, and.

Speaker 2 (35:00):
Oh so it's like momentum is just a.

Speaker 1 (35:03):
You on chunk of a hill mary right before halftime.

Speaker 2 (35:05):
Really, it's like it's just a narrative device to fit
whatever you want it to be, and it might not
actually have a whole lot of Let's talk some college
box because we do. I did watch there. It was
an interesting week of college football. I mean not outside
of that embarrassing dude.

Speaker 1 (35:27):
How about Indiana, Dude, I didn't see that coming, Dude,
Like I literally turned it on in the second quarter
and they were already about like thirty to like seven
or something like that.

Speaker 2 (35:36):
Yeah. No, the score at half was thirty five to seven,
thirty five to ten.

Speaker 1 (35:41):
Yeah, something ridiculous. And I was I think it was
like four minutes left or something. I'm like, I thought
this was supposed to be a good game.

Speaker 2 (35:48):
You know, it was the only it was the only
game featuring a top ten team, uh, playing another ranked team,
because the other ranked matchups we had were in an
Ou and then that Tech Utah game that was a
ten am local kickoff time in Utah because of TV obligations.

(36:09):
But uh, the Indiana team, it's surprising to me that
after what they did last year, going undefeated until the
last game of the season, and you know, in making
the College Football Playoff, for them to be the nineteenth
rank team and Illinois the number nine team clearly Kurt

(36:31):
Signetti and that and the Hoosiers had that was a
lot of bulletin board material because they did not.

Speaker 1 (36:38):
Like, what did Illinois do so great? Like? What did
they do right? How did Illinois like three five star
recruits or something like?

Speaker 2 (36:46):
Even then at that point, I don't, you know, these
ab rankings have been a little wonky.

Speaker 1 (36:52):
Yeah, to begin so far down Clemson down, you.

Speaker 2 (36:57):
Gotta love you gotta love being Notre Dame where you
can be oho and two and still ranked now.

Speaker 1 (37:02):
Granted top twenty.

Speaker 2 (37:05):
Not I would never attempt to defend Notre Dame whatsoever.
But the two teams they lost to might end up
being playoff teams themselves. Yeah, and if you're Notre Dame,
you win.

Speaker 1 (37:18):
That's what happens when you're not conferenced.

Speaker 2 (37:20):
Exactly, and when you choose not to be conferenced.

Speaker 1 (37:23):
Yeah, you want these big games, you might go oh and.

Speaker 2 (37:26):
Two Yeah, the uh Texas another finally showed a few
signs of life.

Speaker 1 (37:34):
Oh arch Manning getting all dog.

Speaker 2 (37:36):
Ask you about that?

Speaker 1 (37:38):
Oh, keep it in your pants, buddy, you know, like
you got booed at your house last time, like last week,
like clearly does before.

Speaker 2 (37:48):
Clearly there were some frustrations being taken out on the
absolute wasn't.

Speaker 1 (37:54):
An sec SEC team or anything. No, it's actually even worse.
It's Sam Houston State. It's calm down.

Speaker 2 (38:00):
And also it's a Sam Houston State that lost their
head coach after last year had the most transfer most
kids transfer out of the program of any school. And
uh yeah, Sam Houston is in a bad, bad bad way,
right now after showing some signs of life last year,
they're nowhere near that same.

Speaker 1 (38:20):
Yeah, I kind of agree with you.

Speaker 2 (38:22):
I think there's there's a there's a line of thinking
where you treat every opponent the same. So if you
would have done that against Georgia, do it against Sam
Houston State, do it against the Aggies, do it against
the U.

Speaker 1 (38:38):
Just do it all and you want to be If
you want to be Baker Mayfield, basically, you better do
what every game exactly like I did. You better show
up every game. That's the other part.

Speaker 2 (38:48):
So, uh, you know, as a UT fan, I was
more excited about the fact that he had you know what,
five total touchdowns.

Speaker 1 (38:56):
But what did they start doing. I'd start saying, they'd
start letting him run the ball, Like I guarantee the
coaching staffs like run the ball, man. You know you
don't see that first or second. If you have a
hole or you feel the pocket collapsing and you see
you see somewhere where you can get out, just run it,
you know what I'm saying. Get some yards, get some

(39:17):
positive yards so we're not third and long all the time.

Speaker 2 (39:21):
Yeah, again, I would I would highly suggest the fact
that that sam Houston State was the defense that that
probably helped to get some of that swagger back.

Speaker 1 (39:33):
They needed to play them in the beginning of the year.
I'll see.

Speaker 2 (39:36):
That's it's not like they had been playing you know,
outside of the Ohio State game. It was Utah and
sam Houston State. Now, I mean it, what's what's there
was a there's a third game in there I'm missing too,
But it's not like they had been playing a tough
schedule where Arch was struggling. It was Oh, yes, the

(39:58):
powerhouse West coas team Sam Houston State.

Speaker 1 (40:02):
Yeah, I mean San Jose San Jose State. So like
you know.

Speaker 2 (40:06):
Between was that Kawhi Leonard Zone. That's San Diego State.
Who good God did you speaking of them? Do you
see what they did?

Speaker 1 (40:14):
The cow? Oh they they dog walks shut them out
under cow. Yeah, cal it's cow man, It's it's cow.
It's like the they're the smart kids.

Speaker 2 (40:26):
Half the offensive line was at a protest over Jimmy
Kimmel or whatever we're fighting about this week.

Speaker 1 (40:32):
No was supposed to cancel your YouTube and Ulu or
you and whatever fifty thousand things Disney controls again. But
you're still gonna give them money. Somehow, come on, man,
And at the.

Speaker 2 (40:44):
End of the day, somehow I'm agreeing with Ted Cruz
on something where he's pointing out the fact that we're
in the silliest time.

Speaker 1 (40:52):
I was like, when I agree with Margie Tayler Green
and Ted Crews on some stuff, I'm just like, I'm
the upset.

Speaker 2 (40:57):
It's either signs of massive pro address of the sides.

Speaker 1 (41:02):
Coexist, or exactly First Amendment is a good thing. Oh man,
I like what you're saying. Wait, wait what Corey Chase
stepmom porn?

Speaker 2 (41:12):
Oh Ted, I don't follow you there. I'm sorry, that's
still wondering. I wonder how much porn Ted is liking
these days. Since Elon got rid of the public likes
and he knows he can't be busted, he.

Speaker 1 (41:24):
Stopped following porn stars on.

Speaker 2 (41:26):
X It was nine to eleven, like six years ago
where he was like in Paris Memoir, forget memory of
my nine to eleven? Do you watch any of the
that Oklahoma Auburn game.

Speaker 1 (41:40):
I did for And first off, that was a touchdown
at the beginning of the game, like they called that back,
like that was the interception that went for a Oh yeah,
that went for a Yeah, that was dude. Oklahoma gets
these calls in the beginning game. I've seen this with
Oklahoma State, and we'll talk talk about Gundy. I know

(42:01):
I forget, but like I've seen these calls a thousand
times that just kill the momentum in the beginning of
the game, and then Oklahoma just skates off and be
like no, Ford progress was already established, so that fumble
turnover to a touchdown doesn't count. Look, you, you don't
get to go up fourteen zero.

Speaker 2 (42:22):
I've seen the calls you're describing in person at the
Cotton Bowl during the river shootout.

Speaker 1 (42:27):
Many times it's like, oh my god, man, Oklahoma gets
all these calls. But I don't disagree.

Speaker 2 (42:33):
I think you. I think you're right. I think it
should have been called. But I can also because the
rules have gotten so fuzzily written now, I can understand
how the official would say that's not a cat, but
he gets fuzzy call in the field. That's kind of
the field.

Speaker 1 (42:49):
Was a touchdown exactly exactly, you know what I'm saying,
And that's what kills me, is like that was such
a you know, you could make a case for either one,
and I think you can make a better case for
the call in the field versus that one in my opinion,
and then like, yes, I do have some hatred towards
some Sooners and Gaylord Stadium, but it's it's the stick

(43:14):
it to them every.

Speaker 2 (43:15):
Time it celebrate bisexuality.

Speaker 1 (43:19):
Cele Hey, gaylords do your thing. I don't what you call,
but it's it just kills me about like and they
never say they always say the calls go against them.
My buddy, who's a huge suit, Yeah, the calls always
go against us. And I'm like, for decades I've watched this,
especially at Bedlam. I was like, you will not get

(43:41):
this from us. You get the calls.

Speaker 2 (43:42):
They so bad they had to pay people to move there.
And then they were so proud of that that they
named their college mascot a Sooner.

Speaker 1 (43:53):
Yeah, so look, you don't have to Oh is that
the far and away thing where you get to like
go and get your land.

Speaker 2 (43:59):
The people to day earlier they left too soon to
market Tom cruise. Uh the speaking of ou and the officials,
how about the missed call on theence, Well, okay that one,
but before the misscall where they acted like the guy
was running off the field but he stopped to talk

(44:20):
to the coach with the with the umph the ref
right next to him, and it was a trick play
and then he just immediately goes ten yards, puts his
hands up and catches a touchdown to the point where
the OU offense knew they had punked Auburn so bad
that as soon as the lineman snapped it, the the
tackle put his hands up like, touchdown, We've got you. Yeah, like,

(44:42):
and of course SEC comes out and says, no, that
should have that should have been taken off.

Speaker 1 (44:47):
So Auburn.

Speaker 2 (44:48):
Auburn fans have some right to feel like they had
a touchdown taken off the board, and they had a
touchdown against them that should have been taking off the board.
It's a fourteen point swing in a game that was
decided by a touchdown.

Speaker 1 (45:04):
And that massive, like down the field catch like that.
He literally like pulls him down. He's like while in
the air, was that the OU game? Or am I
thinking of something else? Uh?

Speaker 2 (45:15):
That one I don't remember, but oh no, that was
the guy.

Speaker 1 (45:18):
That was Yeah. Yeah, it was like it would have
been like you would have been at the two yard line, yeah,
or like in the end zone and he got there.
It was on a trick play and he got there early,
you know what I'm saying. And it was just like, god, man,
how many calls. And my buddy would be like, well,
we only we had twelve flags called on us and

(45:38):
they only had seven. I'm like, well, you still made
those penalties too, buddy, you know what I'm saying. I
was like, they didn't call everyone.

Speaker 2 (45:45):
I think Oklahoma fans might potentially take the trade off
of okay, call make those calls correct, we lose that
game if it meant their star quarterback, the Washington State
transfer Carmen wasn't gonna have to have surgery like he
did earlier today. Yeah, John Mattier, if you missed it,

(46:06):
in that game against Auburn, hits his thumb on the
helmet in the first quarter of a game, so he's
playing the rest of the game with a broken thumb
in his throwing hand.

Speaker 1 (46:15):
That makes so that that kind of makes it, you know,
almost the road almost almost almost you got bailed out
by calls.

Speaker 2 (46:20):
Okay, this is as a you know, as a ut
T shirt fan, since uh we are looking at you know,
Texas on a bye this week and then they play
Florida and then the next game is Red River. Do
I like the fact that Texas now has a better

(46:43):
chance of winning that game because they might have the
better quarterback now playing in that game.

Speaker 1 (46:49):
But I just it was, see, I gotta see Texas
played Florida Like that's gonna least let's see if ye
if Art still.

Speaker 2 (46:57):
Has that dog of Fort Florida is rolling over and
uh playing dead on Billy Napier right now. They hung
with Miami but ended up.

Speaker 1 (47:07):
Yeah. I love how Michael there like Matthew McConaughey on
the sideline. You want to talk.

Speaker 2 (47:13):
About Mike, Yeah, I've got LG queue up that Mike Irving.
So Michael Irvin started a YouTube channel, which apparently it's
very popular these you get canceled' oh I forgot the
NFL network and then it turned out it was it
was it was nothing in the hotel retracted. Okay, So

(47:34):
Mike Irvin, if you remember back during uh the day
before Jerry traded Micah, he.

Speaker 1 (47:40):
Was on Michael Irvins He's anywhere, right, So, uh.

Speaker 2 (47:45):
Michael Irvin, if you're not paying attention to it, I
would just suggest if you're a Cowboy fan, it might
be worth spending some of your time to get the
full Playmaker podcast experience, because no.

Speaker 1 (48:02):
Tied the game anyway, Sorry Yankees. Oh my god, it's
two outs with the basis lowp Do you want the
scenario two out? No, I don't down by one bottom
of Mike bottom of the night.

Speaker 2 (48:17):
No man has been able to accelerate and decelerate vocally
like Michael Irvin does.

Speaker 1 (48:23):
He gets real worked up, real hypen. Oh yeah, that's like,
that's that's the preacher in him, thousand Southern Baptist. So
let me.

Speaker 2 (48:31):
Get exactly so. We had one of those moments on
his podcast. This first clip is from the Wednesday episode
that he put out where at this point he knew
you remember Miami's first game of the season, it was
me Johnson ringing the hurricane siren. Yeah, uh well, Mike
Irvin got to do it this past weekend and he

(48:53):
talked about it on his podcast.

Speaker 1 (48:56):
But tomorrow to Miami for that game you in Florida where.

Speaker 3 (49:08):
I was not the last week's break that I'm gonna
break that side where I crank it Saturday for that
Miami girl. Everything I've gotten weird, I will crank that

(49:29):
thing up. Just just be ready. I'm cranking it up.
I'll tell you all about it tomorrow.

Speaker 2 (49:36):
So he was letting us know. It's like, dude. One
of my favorite things about watching that stupid Jerry Jones
documentary was just so many people younger than me that
didn't get the threat like watching Michael Irving. Michael Irvin
play football was unlike anything I've experienced as.

Speaker 1 (49:59):
A He made you watch the post game.

Speaker 2 (50:02):
He was literally the playmaker, like it was all It
was all over the top, all energy.

Speaker 1 (50:08):
And everybody that played against him when he made that
big play, they're just like, only if it wasn't anybody
but Michael Irving, because they know they're going to have
to hear about it.

Speaker 2 (50:20):
The joy that Mike Irvin gave young me watching football
was unmatched day and he.

Speaker 1 (50:29):
Was there, you go.

Speaker 2 (50:31):
Mike Irvin wants to reach out, I'll.

Speaker 1 (50:35):
Take the call. So if he wants to reach around,
he was prepared.

Speaker 2 (50:41):
He was quite prepared to ring that bell, to ring
that siren on Saturday, and of course in the Miami humidity,
he's already sweat drenched.

Speaker 1 (50:53):
He's over there, He's over at the the players before
the coaches can get to the players, celebrating with them.

Speaker 2 (50:58):
You nailed it. He's there hey now, and it's great.
It's great for the sport.

Speaker 1 (51:02):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (51:03):
This is what it looked like when he actually got
to that bell Saturday night.

Speaker 1 (51:13):
Oh, he's shaking it. He's shaking the crap out, just losing.
He's like, literally that thing is you need to be
weighted down a lot more of the mic. Yeah, you
can watch it. It's just shaking.

Speaker 2 (51:34):
The whole thing is just rattling back and forth as
he is. Absolutely, I was really surprised he didn't end
up with just the handle in his hand to raise
it a like a like a gladiator just raising the
head of an opponent. Uh in the coliseum. Yeah, Mike
Irvan is a absolute treasure, absolute Jim. Elsewhere across college football,

(51:57):
I mentioned Miami went on to win that game over Florida.

Speaker 1 (52:03):
Oregon.

Speaker 2 (52:03):
Oregon State is now an absolute afterthought with all of
the conference realignments and everything, but we did have, UH
Oregon smashed Oregon State. Another rivalry game up in df W,
it was d versus f W S m U versus TCU,
the battle for the Iron Skillet. Unfortunately, that looks like

(52:24):
that rivalry will be going away for.

Speaker 1 (52:26):
The foreseeable future.

Speaker 2 (52:28):
Uh TCU wins the last one up there, and then uh,
the other game I mentioned that was really the game
I was locked into in that first window Saturday morning. Dude,
Tech Tech's good. Tech is Tech is good. They got
they've got, and they're spending it wisely. It's uh, you know,

(52:51):
the Bailey on the Edge is a potential Day one pick. Yeah.
Will Hammond ends up coming in for Baron Morton Eastland's own. Uh,
he takes a pop, has to come out of the game.
Hammond comes in. Look, most of the Tech fans that
I have in my life, they weren't too upset about that.

(53:13):
I think there's I think there's a potentially more faith
in Will Hammon. Got exaling. That's the thing there. It's early,
they're four and oher and they had knocked the crap
out of Arkansas Pine Bluff and Kent State. Uh until
Saturday when they actually played ranked Utah in Utah, which again.

Speaker 1 (53:35):
Utah is a conference game.

Speaker 2 (53:38):
Utah was kind of like Clemson was a lot of
people's kind of dark Corse deep playoff run team.

Speaker 1 (53:44):
Big twelve winners. I think they were favored.

Speaker 2 (53:47):
You nailed it, though. This is the seemingly this appears
to be the most complete tech team of my lifetime.

Speaker 1 (53:55):
It's always you know, the year air raid offense, but
you're giving up forty points to so you guys score
forty eight exactly.

Speaker 2 (54:01):
And even you know, between you know, the crab tree
catch and the top five ranking, then that was still
they needed that crab tree catch because they couldn't stop
Texas's offense. Like it was, They've got a defense.

Speaker 1 (54:17):
Now that was that was like the Sean Elliott keeping
your feet up from out of back very.

Speaker 2 (54:21):
Much so to stay in Yeah, that whole moment. I
was lucky enough to be in the stadium. But that
game I was as Steph and I were buddies that
were was as we were getting to know each other
in college. Back then I had buddies that were paying
tuition in Lubbock and actually how I ended up meeting her.

(54:45):
But yeah, no, this this tech team feels very very different.

Speaker 1 (54:49):
What's their schedule coming up? Looking like?

Speaker 2 (54:51):
So it's all you know, big twelve, Uh, Colorado Arizona
State being probably the biggest challenge remaining. You know, Houston
is Houston's seemingly decent under Willie Fritz. Now, uh, Connor Wigman,
former A and M quarterback. Yeah, they're undefeated. That game

(55:12):
is a night game at Houston. Uh, coming up the
tex on a bye week this week, walk off.

Speaker 1 (55:19):
Uh oh nice, I kept it, kept it.

Speaker 2 (55:24):
Yeah, that was that was way good.

Speaker 1 (55:28):
LG.

Speaker 2 (55:30):
That is gonna spike so hard. Yeah, but no, the
Houston game in two weeks. Uh, the Arizona State game
in five weeks at Arizona State, I'd say that's.

Speaker 1 (55:41):
Yeah, that's gonna be. That's gonna be a tough one.

Speaker 2 (55:43):
B y U late in the season. We'll see exactly
what on b YU is ranked currently.

Speaker 1 (55:48):
But lost one. I think they lost one, right.

Speaker 2 (55:52):
They ended up coming they played Baylor. Uh this past
week Arizona State has one loss. It's that Flucal to
Mississippi State where they let the Mississippi State receiver get
over the top at the at the end of the game.

Speaker 1 (56:06):
And yeah, won that one late.

Speaker 2 (56:08):
But yeah, it's yeah, with the with the way, these
are big twelve games now on tech schedule, Houston, Arizona State,
b y U U CF what like West Granted West
Virginia has been there for a minute now, but still.

Speaker 1 (56:24):
It's it's a completely different conference.

Speaker 2 (56:26):
It's so unstable, but it also leaves a you know,
hell of a power vacuum, that is, you know, left
last year we saw Arizona State win the conference and
then almost beat Texas in the playoffs.

Speaker 1 (56:42):
I gotta with the way gotta.

Speaker 2 (56:45):
Texas, with the way U, T, A and M and
Tech all potentially look so far this season, I am
hoping we get some form of a TECH versus either
A and M.

Speaker 1 (56:59):
Or UT of the trade one of the conference traders
exactly that would be, and then Big twelve puts it
on them there. Like that's what I was like, Man,
I was hoping Arizona State, even though I like, you know,
a T shirt. You know, that's my second team, you
know because my grandmama, Nana.

Speaker 2 (57:15):
Which one Arizona Stow Texas Texas.

Speaker 1 (57:18):
She loved, she loved her from Texas, And like, I
still was kind of room for Arizona State just a
little bit, just because I was like, oh, you want
to go out of conference? Huh you think it's that
You think it's that simple.

Speaker 2 (57:31):
Well, you know, Brett, your Mark, the Big twelve commissioner,
was right there with you. He was hoping, he was
opening the sun. Devils could do that.

Speaker 1 (57:41):
It's kind of we just had such a great, big
twelve championship game. Coming off that one, it was just
it was insane.

Speaker 2 (57:48):
Yeah, that that he was becoming a little treasure himself
over there in New York. Yeah, we'll see, we'll see
exactly what that career. I want to see what that
career looks like, if it's more Mike Alstadt or if
it if it fizzles.

Speaker 1 (58:01):
Out some paint hill this one. Yeah, well he's gonna
get a shot now. You know, Tracy's out. But we're
moving forward, just to sticking in. You want to you
want to talk about it, We're talking about it.

Speaker 2 (58:14):
Let's talk about it.

Speaker 1 (58:15):
Yesterday was the eighteenth anniversary of the one and only
Mike Gundy speech, I'm a man, I'm forty. You might
come after me, you mightn't come after him doing everything right?

Speaker 2 (58:26):
Might or might not? Hear that at the end of
the program in honor, Oh we better.

Speaker 1 (58:31):
Yeah, that was one of the greatest. That pumped me up.
I was walking with my head.

Speaker 2 (58:34):
Do you remember the context of it? Yeah, so what
does that fat that's the that's Gundhy saying, that's.

Speaker 1 (58:42):
All that He says that at one point Yeah, it
was Oh he benched his starting QB Bobby Reid. Yeah.
Then he was like basically and one of the writers
there said that he just didn't have the will or
anything like that. And he's like this kids doing everything
right and like secretly in still water because my grand

(59:06):
my granddad was still alive and he still had a
lot of we still have a lot of strings at
Oklahoma State at that time. Like he said that it
was a female journalist. He set her up. Man, he
knew what he was gonna do. That wasn't a spontaneous thing,
of course, and he already had a conversation with it
and it was already said and done with. And he

(59:27):
just did that for National TV and for and like
and as everybody kind of like started saying like, oh
he's gonna get recruits for good, he did for recruiting
purposes as well.

Speaker 2 (59:36):
And it indeed absolutely endeared him to a lot of
people that had never considered or thought about Oklahoma State
for yeah, and like a.

Speaker 1 (59:45):
Coach coming to back for you, like you just got
every parent is like, now I want my kid to
play for back.

Speaker 2 (59:50):
Bobby Reid was the biggest quarterback recruit that he had
gotten to come to Oklahoma State. To that point, Bobby
Reid's potential was in ended up being a safety, converted
to safety, ended up being a defensive captain. But that was, like,
you nailed it. It was defending one of the highest
profile recruits that he had been able to bring to

(01:00:12):
still Water up until that up until that point.

Speaker 1 (01:00:16):
Yeah, but he got forward.

Speaker 2 (01:00:19):
Yeah, it's so did you read some of the reporting
is suggesting that it was offered to him, announced your
resignation today. Didn't to announce your resignation today and then
stay and coach have a you know, send off, send
off season, or you can either do that or we

(01:00:40):
got to remove, we gotta.

Speaker 1 (01:00:41):
Fire and that that's that's when he came out said,
I still coach with the same amount of passion as
I did when I was forty. When I was forty,
you know, and I planned I got a four year contract.
I plan on playing out this contract. What is he
fifty eight? Yeah? Yeah, I get like that fifty eight exactly, man.
And he's like, you gotta understand. Oklahoma State was a

(01:01:06):
team we called it the old Poke Choke for a reason.

Speaker 2 (01:01:10):
That's correct.

Speaker 1 (01:01:11):
We lost all the time, and in college basketball, where
we had like we had our own like Bobby Knight
or like paternal like where what was his name? What
was ed was? Yeah, Eddie Sudden.

Speaker 2 (01:01:26):
And we kept it's still named after him, Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:01:29):
Exactly, And took a couple of pills, landed, landed in
a ditch and that was about it for that old man.
But yeah, so we kept our coaches. But in the
football universe, we were stepping stone. Jimmy Johnson, Oklahoma State,
Miami Uh less Miles Uh? Did he go to l

(01:01:53):
s U after us? He went to Oklahoma State, then
went to you know, l s U. We were always
the stepping stone. And then Gundy comes in a four
year starter at quarterback. He was I think he's like,
if there was a ring of honor, it's he's in
that for Oklahoma State. And he actually wanted to be

(01:02:15):
there because he could have gone to any of the
Power five Conference, any of the Power five schools. He
was getting recruited by Ohio State back in the day.

Speaker 2 (01:02:23):
He turned down a lot of jobs.

Speaker 1 (01:02:25):
He turned down I think Alabama before Nick Saban was
getting run around. His name was getting thrown around as
well because of his recruiting style. Because of that, I'm forty,
you know, they're like and.

Speaker 2 (01:02:37):
Because of the fact that you know, like you were saying,
Oklahoma State football the sixteen years before Gundy was head
coach had four winning seasons. Yeah, Mike Gundy in his
time there, Yeah, had two losing seasons. It was his
first one and.

Speaker 1 (01:02:56):
Last one and went he went eighteen straight winning season.
And we were always the thorn in the side of
ou in Texas, Texas, and we usually beat one of them.
The one time that we had the shots to go
to the Natty.

Speaker 2 (01:03:13):
Well, Iowa State beat y'all right, and what happened, uh.

Speaker 1 (01:03:20):
The plane crash women's basketball team that playing. Gunny didn't
want to play. The players didn't want to play. I
was Iowa State said we don't need to play. But
it was the game at night. It was a nice
time game, remember, and they forced him to play and
it became a shootout. And guess who was on that
team was that Whedon? Yeah? Whedon and black Men and

(01:03:42):
those are those two combinations was like up in that's
up in Oklahoma State Lore. And we ended up playing
Andrew Luck and the you know, like the runner up game,
and we beat Andrew Luck, you know, and if you
that was the year that Alabama and LSU played for
the second time and it was a thirteen to three game.

(01:04:06):
What an ugly it was the in like the Oklahoma
State it was supposed to be Oklahoma State high powered
offense against Alabama or LSU or it was Alabama shut
down defense. That was the matchup. But because this Iowa
State game after a tragic loss, that nobody wanted to
play that No did that happen today in social media

(01:04:30):
and all, like you know, the keyboard warriors out there,
that game would never have been played.

Speaker 2 (01:04:35):
So on Wikipedia on Oklahoma State football page, they have
a claimed national title that's nineteen forty five, and then
they have an unclaimed national title and that's twenty eleven.

Speaker 1 (01:04:50):
Yeah, year twenty eleven. So that's the We should have
went to that game and we would have ran Alabama.
I guarantee you we would have ran Alabama. Weed was
twenty eight years Yeah, that helped. That was a grown
ass man playing and black men at the time was like, man,
he was a monster among children at that You know,

(01:05:10):
he was going to go against a solid secondary. But
you get a grown ass man throwing the ball, you know,
running the team and who turned out to be a solid,
you know, mid tier to good backup, you know, starter
in the NFL. If y'all, if if black Man just
couldn't start smoking.

Speaker 2 (01:05:29):
Yeah, that's the problem. If y'all hadn't beat Oklahoma in
the last Bedlam game, Gundy would have gotten fired after
last because the timing of it is the is what
strikes me.

Speaker 1 (01:05:42):
We fired every coach. They fired every coach except Gundy exactly,
and it was a whole new time from the D
line to the O line, coach, nutritionists, condition teams, coach, everybody,
they cleaned house except for Gundy, which was already a
riding on the wall. You know, you can never get
us over that hump and whatnot. But be careful what

(01:06:05):
you wish for a When are we going to get
another guy that's not going to treat us like a
stepping stone, that's going to have a ten win season.
That's you, and they're going to go to somewhere else.

Speaker 2 (01:06:17):
I don't think your options. Okay, well, and we're.

Speaker 1 (01:06:19):
Never going to be able to compete with Tech or
any of the other people who got that oil money.

Speaker 2 (01:06:25):
We got.

Speaker 1 (01:06:26):
Y'all got to have an oil man. I don't know
where he's at somewhere, don't know. T Boom Pigs didn't
give us money until about his deathbed.

Speaker 2 (01:06:33):
Well, I mean there were a lot. Y'all started having
some pretty cool looking uniforms there in the late.

Speaker 1 (01:06:40):
We still got the best gear in the business, no question.

Speaker 2 (01:06:43):
The thinking about who takes that role, who takes uh,
you know, the head coaching job, or who the candidates
are the obvious The obvious two names to me are
two that are within about a thirty mile radius of
where we sit right now. That's Jeff Traylor, who again

(01:07:05):
potential so to fit your I to fit your easier
concerns trailer is shown. He doesn't want to move around
the country. He's at the TSAP.

Speaker 1 (01:07:21):
Build a program to to something.

Speaker 2 (01:07:23):
Still Waters not that far from the East Texas hotbed
that he coached in at Gilmer.

Speaker 1 (01:07:30):
You know, all of the bull He's still gonna have
all his like recruits and it.

Speaker 2 (01:07:35):
Would make a lot of sense. And it also I
don't think he would be Oklahoma State wouldn't be a
building block to a next step for him. That would
be the only one would be something like if y'all
something crazy like Texas or or an m but he
wouldn't be at that point. Those would be about the

(01:07:56):
only two jobs.

Speaker 1 (01:07:57):
Jobs. Those jobs are always going to have, Like if
you have one down year, they're going to be coming
to your fear. Tho. He doesn't want to deal with that.

Speaker 2 (01:08:03):
No, not at all.

Speaker 1 (01:08:04):
No, No, he wants kids that stick around for Look, I.

Speaker 2 (01:08:07):
Don't want to speak it into existence because I don't
want it to happen.

Speaker 1 (01:08:11):
I do.

Speaker 2 (01:08:11):
There's after the way that UTSA game went Saturday up
in Fort Collins against Colorado State.

Speaker 1 (01:08:18):
Did you see how that ended? Yeah, then we do
some stupid Colorado.

Speaker 2 (01:08:22):
State took points off the board. They made the extra point,
but UTSA was off side, so they took the extra
point off the board to go for two to win
it with like twenty seconds left, and UTSA got the stop.

Speaker 1 (01:08:35):
But isn't that the second game we just made a
blunder at the end.

Speaker 2 (01:08:38):
Well this this, you could argue the blunder is actually
what gave them to win. But the trailer, the trailer
being floated as a top candidate makes a whole lot
of sense to me. For all of those reasons, the
more exciting one. Also, don't want to speak this one
into existence because I did pay tuition in San Marcus GJ. Kenney,

(01:09:03):
Oh okay any Kenny Saturday? Like it's I saw I
saw some Oklahoma State fan trying to push that already
he has Oklahoma ties. And randomly the game that got
Gundy fired was the loss to Tulsa, the first time
Tulsa has beatn Oklahoma State since nineteen fifty one. So

(01:09:23):
why don't you go get the Tulsa record setting quarterback?

Speaker 1 (01:09:27):
As ou is Oklahoma State's big brother. We were always
Tulsa's big brother.

Speaker 2 (01:09:31):
Right exactly.

Speaker 1 (01:09:32):
I'm saying, so, yeah, that one I felt it coming.
But like after the conference, I saw him where he's like,
I'm not you know, I'm still daying. I'm like, Okay,
they might give him, they might give him this year.

Speaker 2 (01:09:43):
I was pretty shocked.

Speaker 1 (01:09:44):
I was like, I think they're gonna give him this
year out of respect, and I think he has If
anybody has the ability to turn it around, it would
have been him, you know what I'm saying. Like, because
it only only because I've seen it for eighteen nineteen years,
you know what I'm saying. He is proven to win.
And how about teams that he's not supposed to be

(01:10:05):
all the time.

Speaker 2 (01:10:06):
How about two years ago when they played in the
Big Twelve championship game in a season where South Alabama
came into Stillwater and beat them by four touchdowns early
in the season, and they're into like you're saying.

Speaker 1 (01:10:20):
And the table. We go to the Big Twelve and
we played the Big Twelve Championship without our star running back,
which is who Cuba Hubbard. So we didn't even have
Cuba Hubbard, who's actually doing very well for the Carolina Panthers.
We didn't have him for the game. And he was
a heightsman final this that year. Yeah, I'm I'm with you,

(01:10:42):
and we were a couple of inches away from that one.

Speaker 2 (01:10:45):
I was shocked at the timing of it because when
I think of Oklahoma State football, I mean, it's Thurman, Thomas,
Barry Sanders, Mike Gundy.

Speaker 1 (01:10:53):
Yeah, that's the list, that's it. And they didn't go
to des Bryant.

Speaker 2 (01:10:57):
Sure the receivers, you know there are as, don't get
me wrong, but what that's those are the three guys
I think are guys. And you mentioned at the beginning
of this the careful what you wished for. The grass
isn't always greener. Look at Virginia Tech after they rank
Frank Beamer out of there. Virginia Tech is not a
good job. No offense to Oklahoma State, but they're similar

(01:11:18):
on that scale. Like you said, they're always they always
were stepping stones until someone like Mike Gundy or Frank
Beamer said no, no, no, no, this is all I want
and I want to build this.

Speaker 1 (01:11:30):
Only national attention they got was when they got Vic's.

Speaker 2 (01:11:32):
The vic brothers. Yea, and I look at what Virginia
Tech has looked like. They're about to go through their
third coach since Beamer. Yeah, uh it if you don't
get this one right, and the one that makes the
most sense he does have.

Speaker 1 (01:11:53):
I think that's that's got the panhands.

Speaker 2 (01:11:55):
It's like a five or six million dollar buyout, so
his buyout is significantly more than GJ. Kenny another name,
Eric Morris, North Texas head coach. He's got North Texas undefeated.

Speaker 1 (01:12:06):
He just wants someday they want someone probably from North Texas.

Speaker 2 (01:12:09):
See the Kenny one, the Kenny or Eric Morris. If
I was an Oklahoma State fan, I would fear those
guys are taking the job as a stepping stone.

Speaker 1 (01:12:19):
Oh for sure.

Speaker 2 (01:12:20):
The trailer one because.

Speaker 1 (01:12:21):
They have way more ambition, very much to go to
an SEC school.

Speaker 2 (01:12:26):
Again, you know, not to speak it into existence, but
if I was the Oklahoma State A D that there's
one man I would have already had multiple phone and
and Zoom's conversation.

Speaker 1 (01:12:37):
Let me let me try to convince him.

Speaker 2 (01:12:38):
Yeah, no, I don't think he doesn't want any part
of any of that I'm coaching.

Speaker 1 (01:12:43):
Run now, don't talk to me about this crap. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:12:45):
And also, you know, come come the end of the
American Conference season, Trailer still might have a better conference
record than Eric Morris and you and se.

Speaker 1 (01:12:55):
We'll see how the rest of those years play out.

Speaker 2 (01:12:59):
Let's do some in a fell talk because we yeah, buddy,
we gotta talk. Uh, we gotta talk it. Unfortunately, I've you.

Speaker 1 (01:13:06):
Want to go, you want to start it off with this,
we'll go.

Speaker 2 (01:13:09):
We'll go cow notes first, as we do Cowboys bruised
and beaten literally literally in a thirty one fourteen loss
of the Chicago This guy.

Speaker 1 (01:13:22):
Yeah, I love it when y'all get your hopes up.

Speaker 2 (01:13:26):
It's the very typical Cowboys digs score line. So yeah,
I'll get to winners and lose.

Speaker 1 (01:13:38):
What was my over under on the trick plays. Yeah
that went over.

Speaker 2 (01:13:40):
Yeah that was over. Now, granted, you know your defense
is awful. When the worst executed flea flicker, yeah, tossed
straight up but still worked stride for stride perfectly.

Speaker 1 (01:13:56):
Caleb. Caleb had to go back into the pocket to
get it.

Speaker 2 (01:14:00):
He ends up throwing the ball like sixty yards flat footed,
just chunking it because it was such because he had
to wait.

Speaker 1 (01:14:06):
So long, because he's behind the cinner.

Speaker 2 (01:14:08):
It's like the sandlot as he's waiting for the ball
to come down. Just Yeah, the worst flea flicker I've
ever seen. I look, it's not good. We all see that.
I mean they're giving up what ninety two points now
through three games.

Speaker 1 (01:14:25):
And I will say, man like, yes, you want to
get your best playmaker the ball, but nobody is not.
Everybody is debo, especially a skinny, little wide receiver like
Cde Lamb my first round pick. Oh you know, oh
that's right, Oh yeah, we'll talk.

Speaker 2 (01:14:45):
We'll talk about fantasy.

Speaker 1 (01:14:47):
Fantasy will come in lightning round. But yeah, you put
him under you know, running back, You put him behind there,
and you have him running a sweep, not even a
jet sweep.

Speaker 2 (01:14:57):
No, he was running between the tackles.

Speaker 1 (01:14:59):
He's running between I mean the tackle on the outside,
and he gets a two hundred and fifty pound linebacker
rolling up on his ankle. The dude is he weighs
like two hundred soaken wit. He does amazing stuff catching
the ball and with the ball on open field against
safeties and cornerbacks, but don't have linebackers tackling his ass. Yeah,

(01:15:20):
I like running across the middle.

Speaker 2 (01:15:23):
Like most things, I I agree with a lot of
what you're saying, but I do I don't think I'm
not I'm not going to blame Shoddy for that injury.
Like I like the idea of being more good. Because
this is the other thing the offense. It was at
the beginning of the beginning need right, you need to

(01:15:45):
use lean heavily on your Wesvante was looking sid well. Okay,
we're gonna talk about him in a second too, because
the second Yeah, I I don't want my head coach
to be gun shy about trying to use my best
weapon in different ways that the defense might not be
ready for. That being said.

Speaker 1 (01:16:05):
Wide receiver screen or a jet.

Speaker 2 (01:16:07):
Screen or end around or jet sweep or reverse or
a pitch to the bar to the wide.

Speaker 1 (01:16:14):
Hash do something.

Speaker 2 (01:16:16):
But like having cd R between the tackles.

Speaker 1 (01:16:19):
Is he's no Debo.

Speaker 2 (01:16:20):
That's not that's very, very hard to defend. I like
the concept.

Speaker 1 (01:16:24):
You can see Debos Hammies. Yeah, that's and then you
can look at CDs Hammies not not quite and Debo's
a lot shorter. He's under six foot. There's a reason
why we ran in between the tackles at the Niners.

Speaker 2 (01:16:35):
Yeah. Now not quite the same Uh, not quite the
same build on CD there.

Speaker 1 (01:16:40):
These So how did Dak rate in your little PFF
or whatever points?

Speaker 2 (01:16:45):
Uh well he was still actually decent. It was just
because it was all checkdown. So I have it the
you know, Deak because the defense is so bad. And
first before we talk offense. Defense zero zero sacks, zero
takeaways in that game Sunday, they have one takeaway through

(01:17:07):
the first three games. It's the Donovan Wilson for whatever reason,
Russ Wilson just throwing the ball deep in overtime. That's
the only takeaway they have all season. The add in
the fact that there there's been a lot of this
chatter regarding the defense of the previous two defensive coordinators

(01:17:30):
were man heavy.

Speaker 1 (01:17:32):
You know, dan Quinn in.

Speaker 2 (01:17:34):
Charge of multiple drafts where he's selecting guys like Nayshaun Wright,
who started for the Bears. He was a third, third
or fourth round pick for the Cowboys when dan Quinn
was here because of his size and his ability to
play man. Well, now this under Eberflus, they're only running
man two percent.

Speaker 1 (01:17:54):
Of the time zone blitzes and they're not they're not,
So it's try something else there, buddy.

Speaker 2 (01:18:03):
I think there is some there is some uh defense
of Eberflus to say, you know, the personnel that is
here doesn't match his system. But granted you've got a
scheme or do something to you got to work around that.

Speaker 1 (01:18:20):
You got to play man with two safety highs.

Speaker 2 (01:18:22):
Secondly, when you go an entire training camp scheming up
the defense to have the attention grabbing Micah Parsons on
one side of the edge, and then a week before
the season starts you trade him, everything you did in
training camp is now mute. Yeah, you're starting over, literally

(01:18:43):
starting over with an entirely new scheme that that's not good.
That doesn't make your coach's life a whole lot easier.
So like most things. You can look at the way
Jerry does. You can look at the way Jerry conducts business. Uh,
and then start with assigning blame there before you start

(01:19:04):
to rightfully assign blame to Eberflus, because still you can't.
You got to be better than that.

Speaker 1 (01:19:08):
It is.

Speaker 2 (01:19:09):
I mean, we're talking Cowboys' fourth worst start in their
franchise history defensively through three games.

Speaker 1 (01:19:16):
Is it like over three hundred yards for Caleb four touchdowns?

Speaker 2 (01:19:21):
Yeah, And speaking specifically of Caleb Williams, the first game
in his nineteen game career zero sacks. You want to
know how much worse it actually is though, because when
you hear that, you think, okay, well, how many sacks
does he average a game? Is it like he's it's

(01:19:43):
like four? It's three point nine Caleb Williams for his
careers quarterback after this is also counting the game on
Sunday where he had zero. It's still three point nine
sacks game for his career. And there's one game with

(01:20:03):
a zero in that column, and that was Sunday. So
you go back to again, that's the Soldier field, which
they're about to move into the suburbs. They're leaving Soldier
this is the last year, right, Well, I think they've
I think they're closing in on actually like finalizing the

(01:20:25):
very much is exactly what it is. You go back
and you look at that Cowboys Giants game and we
kind of talked about this after that one, where as
a Cowboy fan, I felt better about the loss to
Philly than I did the win over the Giant, but
specifically hype and positive because a win in the NFL

(01:20:48):
feels good. It feels to be a fan. Ask Browns.

Speaker 1 (01:20:54):
For sure. The let Russell Wilson cook on you even
than Russ cooking is the fact that the Giants were
on their third string tackle.

Speaker 2 (01:21:06):
Yeah, and the Cowboys had as little pressure as they
got against the Giant.

Speaker 1 (01:21:15):
Tackle.

Speaker 2 (01:21:16):
So it's again, you know, the the combination of as
a Roku, Marshonnland, James Houston. Well, did you see who
was having fun on on X on Sunday regarding the MICHAEH.
Parsons trade.

Speaker 1 (01:21:34):
Uh, let me let.

Speaker 2 (01:21:35):
Me give you this stat uh per p f f
as a Donovan as Araku, James Houston, and Marshawn Neeland
all had zero percent past rush win rates against the Bears.
That tweet was quote tweeted by Terrence Parsons Junior. Micah's
brother just responded, l m f A oh very long,

(01:22:00):
a long string of o's. So yeah, Terrence Parson, the
whole Parsons family is having fun with us.

Speaker 1 (01:22:07):
They're laughing at that one while they're up in Green
Bay and being like, damn, I wish I was back
in Dallas.

Speaker 2 (01:22:11):
You mentioned you know, nothing gets changed. Uh, nothing changes
the Cowboys trajectory on this season if the defense is
as bad as it is, because even you know, the
best secondary in the league wouldn't survive with the lack
of pressure the Cowboys are getting.

Speaker 1 (01:22:35):
There are. That's why you guys go too high safety, man,
because like they're just getting thrown deep.

Speaker 2 (01:22:41):
Yeah, they I was looking at it.

Speaker 1 (01:22:42):
Their digs just can't. I think he's just not even trying, man.

Speaker 2 (01:22:47):
I think he's coming back from injury too early. He
wasn't even expected to be back until like week six
back in training camp was what they were in. Uh. No,
Bland was healthy until he got injured. In at this I.

Speaker 1 (01:23:00):
Thought he was the one who came back too early.

Speaker 2 (01:23:02):
And now Diggs had the knee injury that he rehabbed
away from the team and which is why Jerry docked
in the money.

Speaker 1 (01:23:10):
So they weren't actually they there. A lot of.

Speaker 2 (01:23:14):
The leaning was that he might he was probably gonna
start on ir.

Speaker 1 (01:23:18):
That Rosty costs you a bunch of money.

Speaker 2 (01:23:20):
Bunch of money. So the specifically you mentioned Dak, Dak
wasn't good. Dak that but in the ways that Dak
wasn't good, it was you know, the the Pickens interception,
that ball hit Pickens right in the hand. That's not
on Dak.

Speaker 3 (01:23:39):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:23:39):
The interception in the end zone at that point, that's
a forced throw because you got to do something. You're
you're trailing, chasing the game. It's still that was not good.

Speaker 1 (01:23:50):
It was still a bad decision.

Speaker 2 (01:23:51):
Still a bad decision for sure. But the decisions I'm
pretty sure I think it was uh the I might
be wrong on that though. But the decisions that bother
me more than either of the interceptions is the what
fourteen targets to ferguson underneath. When the defense is as

(01:24:15):
bad as it is and you know you're, oh, that's rough.
You know you're going to give up thirty points. You
can't be throwing to the tight end on third and
six on a four yard route like that. Those are
the decisions that drive that were driving me crazy Sunday.

Speaker 1 (01:24:32):
Because the offense just has to get ten targets.

Speaker 2 (01:24:36):
They've got to risk, They've got to go with more
risk offensively because the defense isn't gonna hold up.

Speaker 1 (01:24:44):
It's that it didn't seem like he was It didn't
seem like he was too pressured. But they definitely definitely
were throwing them different looks. You know. Yeah, it felt
more to it.

Speaker 2 (01:24:55):
I mean from watching it, it just felt more like
the back end cu Bridge was uh, you know, leaving Dak. Yeah,
but again, I would still say at some point you've
got to trust your guys to win.

Speaker 1 (01:25:11):
One on one battles. Especially Pickens has got to take
a risk. He's got one of the best hands. He's
got some of the best hands in the game. Man.
Some of his catches are still a highlight. Right. Yeah,
Dak was sacked twice twice. I mean, it wasn't it
wasn't like he was running for his life off game
and stuff. He just they were letting Ferguson open and

(01:25:31):
being like, yeah, if you want to sit there and
get five yards, we'll give you five yards right now.
And I think and then we're gonna then we're gonna
lock that down and until you get the third down,
and then because you're probably gonna run it on second down,
we'll kill that. And now we're not gonna let you
have that, Jake Ferguson one. You know, especially now that
you don't have CD lamb, we'll double pickings. We'll put

(01:25:52):
someone on losing CD that it killed it.

Speaker 2 (01:25:56):
That killed a lot of the offensive game plan, the
media lose losing.

Speaker 1 (01:26:00):
Your best offensive weapon.

Speaker 2 (01:26:01):
Man, Yeah, I uh, let's do some winners and losers
real quick before we get into the rest of the league.
Uh winners, I called that, by the way, winner you mentioned.
Javonte Williams. I love the way he runs.

Speaker 1 (01:26:14):
I love the he's getting he's getting angry runner. I
loved how he like pushed that one guy down one
cut and go like. I love the sideline. He had
a nasty little.

Speaker 2 (01:26:24):
Play everything that he because if potentially if Jaden Blue
ever gets it active for a game and is the
speed compliment to Javonte Williams.

Speaker 1 (01:26:37):
Give up tumble, Yeah, yeah he might.

Speaker 2 (01:26:39):
I was about say, I think we're gonna get some
some touches. I think we're gonna get some Jayden Blue
this coming week against the Packers. But Javonte winner because
I'm loving what I've seen through three games. Uh, but
loser another fumble like the player with the guy just
rips the ball out of his hands on the long

(01:27:00):
sideline run on the first drive of the game. You
want to talk about losing momentum, You're busting a big
play on your opening drive and then all of a
sudden because of that, you're you're down two scores before
you ever touched the ball again. So I got him
as a winner because I like it. I like what

(01:27:21):
I'm seeing. But that fumble on the opening drive, you
gotta fall into the loser. Other winners will do the
winners quickly because it's a short list. Micah watching, I mean, granted,
they lose, but Micah and his brother can laugh all

(01:27:43):
they want about the Cowboys inability to get pressure and
also winner. Micah in a sense that losing that game
in Cleveland, or that game to Cleveland, that's the worst
thing that could have happened to the Cowboys because now
the Packers are coming in Sunday night football. They were
already that's correct, Bubba, they were already motivated for Micah's

(01:28:06):
return to Dallas.

Speaker 1 (01:28:07):
Now they're gonna be double.

Speaker 2 (01:28:10):
Is it is a blowout?

Speaker 1 (01:28:13):
Is a boring blowout game lit? Or is that just
a sure gonna miss three to four weeks?

Speaker 2 (01:28:20):
So yeah, we should say that. So uh, other losers
are the injuries CD out. Uh, they haven't said if
he's going to go on ir They're hoping it's only
a game or two. But then the other big injury,
Tyler Booker, he's out for a month. So now you
know he's he's been looking great as a most recent

(01:28:42):
first round pick. Yeah he You know, Tyler Guyton struggling
as a year two guy, former first round pick Tyler
Booker stepping right in looks like an NFL starter year
one pressure is going to be And just to make
matters worse, they already lost Cooper Bebe the center. Uh,
now lose right guard Tyler Booker. So you've got two

(01:29:05):
backups now on the interior. Also, let's add in the
fact that Terrence Steele is borderline unplayable himself at right tackle.
So your whole right side of the line is now
a massive, massive, massive liability.

Speaker 1 (01:29:20):
Started learning to roll out to your to your left.

Speaker 2 (01:29:23):
There yeah, yeah, don't don't even think about that, right side.
Uh last winner door Dash did you see this story? Now,
this is where we're at. The cowboys are so frustrating already,
we're doing fluff pieces uh from Cowboys reporter. So Joe

(01:29:43):
Hoyt uh Dallas Cowboy beat rider. He put a tweet
out there, didn't think anything of it. He had taken
a uh, he had gotten door Dash delivered to a
team hotel wherever they were staying at in Chicago.

Speaker 1 (01:29:58):
Right.

Speaker 2 (01:29:59):
So the guy shows up and I guess this was
actually from last week. It was when they were or
from opening week when they were in Philly. And so
DoorDash guy shows up, delivers the food. They get to
talking and turns out they're talking they talk NFL and
the guy, the door Dash delivery driver says, oh, I've

(01:30:20):
never been to an NFL game, Like someday I'd like
to go. And so Joe Hoyt just tweets that out,
doesn't think anything of it. DoorDash ends up like corporations
will do where instead of paying, instead of actually paying
employees living wages, let's just get the public on our
side with good pr and marketing. So they reach out
to the guy. It's a great story. The guy ends up.

Speaker 1 (01:30:43):
So that's a business door Dash.

Speaker 2 (01:30:44):
That's one thousand percent. We're read some Chomsky. We're being
consent is being manufactured as we speak all around you.
Uh so door Dash ends up giving the kid tickets
to the This is where we're at with cowboy football.
Those are your three winners, Micah, Javonte Williams, and DoorDash.
You want some losers before me move on? How about helmets?

(01:31:07):
As Hooker and Pickens chunked their helmet during the game
on the sideline, that's always what you want to see. Obviously,
Picken's got to be a loser for uh and bouncing
right off of his hands. I mentioned the triumphant of
uh Azerakunland and Houston having zero prussures. We mentioned Eberflus

(01:31:31):
where look, dude, I understand the position you're in is a.

Speaker 1 (01:31:36):
Very lose, lose and for all the.

Speaker 2 (01:31:40):
Reasons, and I agree with you, but it's just got
to be better than that. It's just got to be better.
And then you mentioned Diggs lastly, getting I mean the
way he got beat on that first touchdown, he gave up.
Just if you're if you're not healthy.

Speaker 1 (01:31:58):
Seem like he was jumping or out.

Speaker 2 (01:32:00):
Well, no, it wasn't even that he was. He jammed
with the wrong arm, so he jammed where then he
had to turn around inside to catch up to the guy.
Just terrible technique. So if you're if you're playing through
injury hand outside, very simple.

Speaker 1 (01:32:20):
Yeah. But like that to me is.

Speaker 2 (01:32:23):
That's a combination of you gotta say coaching on some level,
and you gotta say player on most of the levels.

Speaker 1 (01:32:30):
I don't think Digs heads in it, you know.

Speaker 2 (01:32:32):
So that's the other thing. Diggs best friend is Micah.
I jokingly said Diggs will be on the Packers next
season if the Packers won them. If he takes a
VET minimum maybe yeah, And then the Packers would probably
say no, no, no, we want to keep Micah as
folks secluded and separate from all of all of the

(01:32:53):
cowboy baggage.

Speaker 1 (01:32:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:32:55):
Who on the like as a roku second round pick
from this most recent draft, he's obviously playing for his
future with the team. Neeland former a second round pick
himself on in year two, playing for his future.

Speaker 1 (01:33:16):
Who else he got?

Speaker 2 (01:33:17):
Who else he got on that defense that is invested
in the long term Overshown is injured. He's not back yet.
The rest of your defensive starters outside of Bland, who's injured.

Speaker 1 (01:33:30):
Those two picks you got. Oh, and guess who went
out the awesome trade that you did with Micah?

Speaker 2 (01:33:39):
Uh what Kenny Clark. Kenny Clark went out, Yeah, he
did jog off and yeah. But that was the first
thing I said when I said, oh, great, yeah, of course,
because now Kenny Clark is injured. I just you look
at guys like Kenneth Murray or Solomon Thomas or hell
even Donovan Wilson who's in the last year deal, who's

(01:34:00):
thirty years.

Speaker 1 (01:34:01):
Old, Solomon Thomas drafted by the Niners.

Speaker 2 (01:34:03):
Coppel's own DFW kid. To begin with, when you look
at these veterans that are twenty seven to thirty on
one year deals, what's the investment level emotionally to try
to get better or to stay locked besides just the well,
they're professionals, they should be. Okay, sure, I agree with you,
but that's just not how the world works. Like you

(01:34:26):
sound like an idealistic college student trying to explain well, actually,
this is like no, no, no, these dudes are human
and they see the writing they see that this thing
is not going to get better anytime soon.

Speaker 1 (01:34:38):
I still think Jerry's trying to make that one last move,
I know, like I said, he's gonna tank for ours
for two years, you know, and he wants that one
last quarterback and feels like that will be the piece
that will be everything and then I'll be able to
win that Super Bowl with Look at Jimmy and be like,
this is my team.

Speaker 2 (01:34:59):
Well telling you Tom Brady, Joe Montana, Troy Aikman, whoever
you want to put back there in their prime is
not winning with what's around, what's on the defensive side
of the ball right now. And then yes, lastly, uh,
you want to guess the line on that uh that

(01:35:19):
Cowboys Packers game at Cowboys Sunday Night Football.

Speaker 1 (01:35:24):
I'm gonna say six and a half.

Speaker 2 (01:35:27):
I think you nailed it on Yep, nailed it.

Speaker 1 (01:35:29):
It opened, I am a golden guy.

Speaker 2 (01:35:31):
Opened at six and a half and currently still sits
at six and a half. How is it less than
a touchdown? Because the Packers lost to the Browns. That's
the only reason that number is not.

Speaker 1 (01:35:45):
I think I've seen a ten and a half one time.
You know what, I'm saying if they if they destroyed
the Cleveland Browns out to be a ten and a
half blind.

Speaker 2 (01:35:53):
It would it would easily be nine eight and a half. Nine. Yeah, no,
no doubt, no, absolutely, no doubt. Let's jump you want
to jump into the rest of the league here.

Speaker 1 (01:36:02):
For Yeah, well, let's go with my Niners. Start us off.

Speaker 2 (01:36:08):
What a ugly game, an.

Speaker 1 (01:36:10):
Ugly, ugly game. Mac Jones. Man, that dude's knee was
holding on by a thread by halftime. Then he comes
out and I'm thinking, we're going to see the backup
and this kid Martinez and oh no, we're just gonna
throw a brace on him. Get out there, Mac, And
he does decent. But that last drive was immaculate by

(01:36:33):
Mac Jones, and I swear they they he conducted the
two minute offense like a seasoned pro. But once again,
just like the Niners, we gonna lose somebody, and we
lost Nick Bosa for the year.

Speaker 2 (01:36:49):
Yeah, that's a pretty big one there, But that is
a hurtful, hurtful one.

Speaker 1 (01:36:54):
But we are three and oh, two and oh in
the division.

Speaker 2 (01:36:56):
Yeah, but you would trade a lot, you would trade
the law to the Cardinals.

Speaker 1 (01:37:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:37:01):
Bosa, Oh yeah, Bosa let me let me give you
about to given the thumbs down to the fans.

Speaker 1 (01:37:06):
Oh yeah, he knew, and it's it's because he had
the A C L tear on his other knee. So
I was gonna ask you, so yeah, so that was
it was the same knee, different different knee.

Speaker 2 (01:37:17):
And what was that's been like what four years now? Yeah,
it's been a minute.

Speaker 1 (01:37:21):
And so Nick Bosa in the first two Uh, you
like your pff rage your your highest edge rusher NFL
Accordant to edge impact metric. Nick Bosa was at a
ninety nine point nine.

Speaker 2 (01:37:36):
Oh well that that sounds pretty good.

Speaker 1 (01:37:37):
Yeah, and now he's gone. He's gone for the year.
Bye bye, Nick Bosa. Hope you come back stronger than ever.
And that man was ready to be an animal this year.
I've heard some interesting things of we might be in
the market for a trade of one Hendrickson out of Cincy.
It was on a one year deal.

Speaker 2 (01:37:58):
It feels like if any team actually as the Bengals
aren't gonna have Burrow for the next two and a
half months, the bing Crosby Bengals, I could absolutely see
the Niners making a big swing to try to replace
that because you've got.

Speaker 1 (01:38:14):
A team McCaffrey's healthy. Parties like coming back. I mean,
we're about to get a really deep receiving cores in
the next two weeks. Auk's coming off of the puplist, Uh,
Juan Jenny's he didn't play because he was injured. He's
coming back. And then I hear who else is on
the trade block? Is DJ Moore out of Chicago, And like.

Speaker 2 (01:38:40):
I guess y'all need some receiver something.

Speaker 1 (01:38:42):
Like we just getting injured. We just need to be deeper.
But we have Crowning, We have a bunch of rooks
coming up that are looking good. We have mbs. You know,
Ricky Piersaw is looking like a stud. I think he
is a top tenk wide out in yards and receptions

(01:39:05):
for the first three games. So this kid shotgun Ricky,
you know, he's looking good man. And he had you know,
I mean swap out pretty and mac Jones. He had
you know, connections with both of them. So and he's
averaging more yards per catch in the air than any

(01:39:28):
other receiver right now. So yeah, so like he's getting
chunk plays, he's getting twenty yards, he's getting thirty yards,
you know, And he had one amazing catch over his shoulder,
tight coverage, hits him in the helmet and just mac
Jones just puts it on him and he catches it beautiful,

(01:39:49):
you know, for like forty three yards. It's amazing.

Speaker 2 (01:39:53):
You want to know what team's giving up the most
chunk play touchdowns twenty five yards or more. That's Dallas.

Speaker 1 (01:40:01):
That's a cowboy's That was Russell cooking on. That was another.

Speaker 2 (01:40:04):
That was another, Yeah, fun fact I had from how
old is how old is Bosa?

Speaker 1 (01:40:09):
Bosa? He's coming up on his first So his first contract,
he was twenty two, twenty one when he came in
the league, right out a while, so he's got to
be like twenty seven. Gave him. We gave him his
contract on the fifth year, right, and that was a
four year deal, and he's coming up on his second
contracts twenty eight years old. I'm gonna call it twenty
seven twenty eight years old.

Speaker 2 (01:40:31):
I was looking at because McCaffrey is thirty. Yeah, so
you're thinking about a team potentially built to win now where.

Speaker 1 (01:40:40):
We gotta give him thirty plus touches like that's unsustainable? Unsustainable?

Speaker 2 (01:40:46):
Yeah, Bosa turns twenty eight in October. Yeah, So you know,
if you're this is looking at the Cowboy or I
mean the Niners cap situation and knowing that you've got
pretty on big money, knowing you've got McCaffrey approaching over thirty.

Speaker 1 (01:41:04):
Mikyle Williams is looking like that, looking like a beast,
You looking like a first round pick.

Speaker 2 (01:41:09):
Yeah, I think you're I think you're absolutely holding holding
hopes in a good way that a big move is
coming because you've got to, especially when you know the
way they have. You can't say they're three and oh,
but they're They've done it with mac Jones in two games,

(01:41:29):
They've squeaked by the Cards, now handled the Saints. But
it wasn't like it was a I mean, it was
still a gaming game exactly.

Speaker 1 (01:41:38):
Yeah, but that was that was we handled that one.
And the it's just like every game we're dealing with
an injury is like.

Speaker 2 (01:41:47):
That's why I hate It's why I hate the NFL.
I know, I get it these dudes. It's car crashes
every play, But just as a fan of the league,
knowing you.

Speaker 1 (01:41:58):
Have Wire this week and like tonight.

Speaker 2 (01:42:02):
Mentally prepare yourself that you're gonna see a guy play
a game and a half and then he's not back
till next year.

Speaker 1 (01:42:08):
How it is, Najie Harris, John Connor, you know, oh
the Connor.

Speaker 2 (01:42:14):
Oh that was in that that was in that game.

Speaker 1 (01:42:16):
Yeah, that was nasty.

Speaker 2 (01:42:18):
The ankle injury.

Speaker 1 (01:42:19):
Yeah, so that killed some of my fantasy momentum as well,
because I I love me some and they you know,
they were calling him before, oh Concrete Connor, hyping them
up in destruct the curse on this man. And then
all of a sudden, Boom goes down with a broken ankle.
And I didn't see the snap, but I figured it

(01:42:39):
snapped right.

Speaker 2 (01:42:40):
Yoh yeah yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah. It was a catastrophic injury.
So last week in our picks, we both had san
Fran minus two.

Speaker 1 (01:42:52):
And a half. So and what I what I say,
both of us missed that one. Well, the only way
we lose that game is if we do it ourselves.

Speaker 2 (01:43:01):
Yeah, we get a holding in the in the end
zone to get a safety, you.

Speaker 1 (01:43:06):
Know, we give up pass interference there. Like I mean,
Upton Stout is getting cooked. You know, he's trying his
best man, but like they're they're targeting him obviously because
I've seen more up and stout than I've ever wanted
to in the past three games.

Speaker 2 (01:43:23):
Yeah, that's never what that's about. How I feel about
kyer Elam right now.

Speaker 1 (01:43:27):
Like I don't want to see this man no more.

Speaker 2 (01:43:30):
Again, another one of these cowboys veterans on a one
year deal, just move on.

Speaker 1 (01:43:34):
Yeah, but people's practice, he's a second year man.

Speaker 2 (01:43:38):
Yeah, I know y'all have more invested there. I should
mention obviously you had.

Speaker 1 (01:43:44):
The winner is Panero.

Speaker 2 (01:43:46):
Yeah, getting that game winning after replacing Uh oh Moody, Yeah, Moody.
So you had you picked Bears plus one and a half.
You got that one right. We both got San Fran wrong.
Uh the rest of the games that we picked last week,
I went Eagles minus three and a half.

Speaker 1 (01:44:07):
You know, I should have won that one a thousand percent.

Speaker 2 (01:44:10):
But the big boy, we had a fat man touchdown.

Speaker 1 (01:44:13):
With zero seconds left.

Speaker 2 (01:44:14):
Yeah, when all he needed to just fall down, don't
risk fumbling the ball.

Speaker 1 (01:44:20):
Hell, I never it was it was good because he
was the one who blocked it and it was.

Speaker 2 (01:44:26):
Just was like insane. And on top of that, I that.

Speaker 1 (01:44:32):
Should have been I should have been foreign for one.

Speaker 2 (01:44:34):
This this the way it moved, the h the way
the way it moved money around in Vegas. That's it's
always fun when it's a crazy last second play that
changes the line like that. I should say I saw this.
I saw this fact as well. So this week across
the league, there were seven games decided by a game

(01:44:58):
winning score in the final three minutes of the game.

Speaker 1 (01:45:02):
The witching hour was.

Speaker 2 (01:45:03):
The witching hour was witching the hell out of the hour.

Speaker 1 (01:45:07):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:45:07):
That is tied for the most in a single week
since the merger since nineteen seventy. So it wasn't just
that it felt like a lot because it was game
winner kicks correct, game winning I've seen a touchdown.

Speaker 1 (01:45:21):
Yeah, I think it was not this year, but last
year I think it was like like a whole octobox
was decided by like one, like one scores and that
was like, uh, never happened before. Like all morning, like
the whole morning's games were all bloom. Yeah, we're all
great games.

Speaker 2 (01:45:39):
Yeah I I was. I mean, I'll take the win
on that Eagles one, but yeah, that should have absolutely.
But I'm one of the millions that were affected by
that betting line. We both took lions plus four and
a half.

Speaker 1 (01:45:56):
And what and what what?

Speaker 2 (01:45:57):
I say what Specifically, it looked like Aiden Hutchinson is
about to round back into shape and is about to
break out.

Speaker 1 (01:46:07):
You it was a primetime game. He wanted to make
a statement. He he circled that calendar. What was it?
A strip fumble? Ye, strip fumble on Derek Henry third
fumble in third three games, poked the ball right out
of You want to know how many fumbles he had
all last year? Probably three? Three?

Speaker 2 (01:46:23):
Yeah, exactly.

Speaker 1 (01:46:24):
Yeah, it's not so it's like, is it a does
Derrik Canny have a fumbling problem? No, that man is secure,
but he's been you know, but like I don't know, man,
Andrews finally had a breakout, and Henry had a great game.
Lamar he was twinkletoes in it back there, but I

(01:46:44):
think the lines just were hungrier man.

Speaker 2 (01:46:46):
Yeah, that seven seven sacks on on Lamar, That Lion's
defense gets to him seven times.

Speaker 1 (01:46:52):
There's so many times he could have thrown it away
or done something and he just that pocket just collapsed
on him.

Speaker 2 (01:46:58):
Yeah, it seemed like things were removed moving faster than
they had been at any point this year for Lamar
back there in the pocket. Also a huge game from
David Montgomery. He went for one hundred and fifty something
yards a couple touchdowns.

Speaker 1 (01:47:12):
Selfish, selfish man, should have melt the ball right before
the goal line. Yeah that also, Yeah, I decided that
decided to fantasy. That changed in this one in this league.
I'll talk about it during lightning round and another one
in another league.

Speaker 2 (01:47:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (01:47:27):
The and I'm like, oh, you selfish, little but.

Speaker 2 (01:47:32):
Great football game, but even better the set of balls
on Dan Campbell on that fourth down call where just.

Speaker 1 (01:47:40):
A floater, just a floater the same round.

Speaker 2 (01:47:43):
We need to start giving Jared Goff the credit. He's
fully deserted. Like we we need to talk about Jared
Goff the same way we talk about Baker, the former
first overall pick, reclamation project kind of wife.

Speaker 1 (01:47:57):
Well that goes back.

Speaker 2 (01:47:58):
Yeah, that that got.

Speaker 1 (01:47:59):
That man back. That helps too. He is, he is
in my Hall of fame right now.

Speaker 2 (01:48:03):
But the fact that the Rams very publicly said he's washed,
not only like they were very publican.

Speaker 1 (01:48:12):
They blamed him for the Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (01:48:13):
We can never win a super Bowl with this guy.
We have to go get Matt Stafford. And now, I
mean granted he hasn't done that yet, but doing what
he's doing with Dan.

Speaker 1 (01:48:24):
And if it was for Tart from San Francisco dropping
a belly interception, they would have never went to the
super Bowl the year they sold like they bet everything
on it.

Speaker 2 (01:48:36):
Oh no, yeah, no, it's fun.

Speaker 1 (01:48:37):
Like you take. He was like this and goes right
through his hands, and we would have never been talking
on Matthew Stafford getting a ring. I'm not saying Sam
Fran would have won that, but I think we would
have beat the Bang. I think we would have beat
the Bengals. We had a better pass rush, you know
what I'm saying.

Speaker 2 (01:48:54):
Yeah, now, this is like the You can't extrapa laid
out all I want, man, you would on.

Speaker 1 (01:49:04):
Jimmy his ring strapping everything you want. Strap. Only other games.

Speaker 2 (01:49:13):
We have had the one in Sincy last week, the
Green the Green Goblin made a return appearance. The other
last game we picked from this week. This this was
the one Steph picked a number one through there's sixteen
games on the schedule. Had her pick a number one
through sixteen. She randomly picked the number that correlated to

(01:49:37):
Colts Titans. Someone break up the f and Colts because okay,
another reclamation quarterback that I mean, granted he's a long way.

Speaker 1 (01:49:48):
From the panting man, yet it's just so close to
the cross.

Speaker 2 (01:49:54):
Joey gallow face. He's not in the company of Golf
or Mayfield yet. But no, I know, no, no, no, I know.
He's three games, but the reclamation in those three games.

Speaker 1 (01:50:05):
He's already broken some of Indianapolis records as a quarterback.
Like he's the only quarterback to have what was it
three touchdowns, three rushing touchdowns, zero interceptions and in over
three games.

Speaker 2 (01:50:22):
Yeah, the spread on that game was Colts minus four
and a half.

Speaker 1 (01:50:25):
They won by twenty one.

Speaker 2 (01:50:27):
So, uh, if we're keeping tabs like we are.

Speaker 1 (01:50:31):
And it wasn't even dimes show it was No, it
was Jonathan Taylor.

Speaker 2 (01:50:35):
I think you might mention in, uh.

Speaker 1 (01:50:37):
Mister mister second round steel out there in fantasy.

Speaker 2 (01:50:40):
When we get to my fantasy team, Oh.

Speaker 1 (01:50:42):
You have do you have? Do you have Jonathan Taylor?

Speaker 2 (01:50:45):
And LUs?

Speaker 1 (01:50:46):
Is it that that? No?

Speaker 2 (01:50:49):
I should probably look I'm pretty sure.

Speaker 1 (01:50:51):
Yeah. Sure.

Speaker 2 (01:50:52):
Now, so you won three out of the five last week.
I won two out of the five, so you were
one up on me. The that's not how math works.
I don't like the our weekly columns here Contenders playoffs
fringe and ass we'll burn through these quick so we

(01:51:14):
can get to the lightning round. Bill's beat the Dolphins.
That was last Thursday. As we were doing the show
Thursday night, we mentioned Packers losing to the brown The
Browns defense is giving up like two hundred and two
yards a game.

Speaker 1 (01:51:29):
Dude, Miles Garrett is probably like it's between Miles Garrett,
Micah Parson's, Nick Boson, t J Watt. This is a century,
this is this is like a decade. I feel like
there's one more like an all decade defensive ends.

Speaker 2 (01:51:46):
Hutchinson if he's coming back, he's the new Bosa.

Speaker 1 (01:51:52):
Him and Crosby can be Yeah, but it's you know,
Miles Garrett, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:51:59):
I bet Utchinson probably we're probably the same teamably he's
a Michigan kid.

Speaker 1 (01:52:08):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:52:10):
Yeah, Packers losing thirteen to ten. That's bad news for
Cowboys because that's an even more highly motivated Packers team.

Speaker 1 (01:52:20):
Elimination leagues, did everybody pick the Green Bay on so
it was interesting? Did they like suicide or uh, survival survival?

Speaker 2 (01:52:29):
Yeah, the survivor leagues. I think you could argue that
loss knocked a lot of people out.

Speaker 1 (01:52:37):
And then there was one more.

Speaker 2 (01:52:40):
Uh oh, the Panthers spanking the Falcons thirty to nothing.
Not that a lot of people were picking, but you
gotta pick. You can't pick every team twice. So if
you look on your schedule, I would say.

Speaker 1 (01:52:53):
Wide receivers coach got canned.

Speaker 2 (01:52:55):
Yeah I sure did, didn't he You look and you say, well,
maybe I can get by with the fouls this week
they're playing the Panthers. If you were dumb enough to
try to do that with the Cowboys, you deserve to
be eliminated from the pool. But yeah, that Browns Packers
definitely was the biggest upset of the weekend. The rest
of the contenders call him here, we talked. Eagles Rams

(01:53:17):
Chiefs finally get their first win on Sunday night. It
didn't look good, It didn't look good at all.

Speaker 1 (01:53:23):
But who else Travis Kelsey finally catches some balls?

Speaker 2 (01:53:27):
You know who? Also bumping into Andy Reid on the
sideline a shouting match.

Speaker 1 (01:53:32):
Dude, Dude, like, I don't know if I sent you
that cut of anger management of Oh yeah, Travis Kelsey,
that man blows his top. Watch out Taylor because he
might might get angry.

Speaker 2 (01:53:45):
Well, he's a tight end for a reason. There's some
there's some aggression there, But thinking about the fact that
the Chiefs have had their issues through three games and
they still held the Giants to only nine points and
Russ played so bad that the Giants have now made

(01:54:06):
the switch to Jackson Dart. That's the same Russ who
threw for four hundred and fifty yards against Dallas and
the Chiefs win that game twenty two to nine. We
mentioned Lions Ravens from last night. Then playoff column here,
Bucks squeak one out against the Jets. They end up

(01:54:27):
winning that one twenty nine to twenty seven.

Speaker 1 (01:54:30):
I think I think Bigger has the best rating out
of all the QBS right now.

Speaker 2 (01:54:34):
It wouldn't surprise me. It wasn't as efficient of a
game against the Jets Sunday, but they get the job done.
Did you see Aaron Glenn's celebration down the sideline as
he's dancing after the Jets had the big play Bucks
end up coming back to win the Commanders forty one,

(01:54:56):
Raiders twenty four. Commanders playing without Jalen.

Speaker 1 (01:54:59):
Daniel Marcus Mariota.

Speaker 2 (01:55:01):
Is Mariota the best backup in the league right now?
If you were thinking off the top of your head.

Speaker 1 (01:55:06):
I'm not thinking about too many backups. I think, what
about Mac Jones. He got two skins on the wall
and he's.

Speaker 2 (01:55:12):
Got a couple, and Mariota has been back up now
for multiple years. I guess Mac is just now. But
I feel like we're missing that, like Ryan Fitzpatrick or.

Speaker 1 (01:55:23):
The Jameis Winston. Yeah, but like why Like I love
him starting Jackson Dart, but like, if you want to
keep Jackson there, why won't you just start Jameis Winston?
Like let him go to another team and play. You know,
they need to trade him to the Bengals. I was
gone the Bingles. The Bengals need to call up New

(01:55:46):
York and get him some Jamis because he's gonna eat
some w's with Chase in Higgins. You know what, he's hungry.

Speaker 2 (01:55:54):
Well, he got he ate a little too soon last
week in Dallas. He's lickings fingers on Celebrate Bisexuality Day.
Chargers twenty three, Broncos twenty How much faith do we
have in the Chargers? Are Are we to the point
where the Chargers are leaving the playoff column and sliding

(01:56:14):
into the contenders column?

Speaker 1 (01:56:16):
I think so. I think so I think the first off,
they're undefeated.

Speaker 2 (01:56:20):
Yep, and which wins over the Chiefs Broncos.

Speaker 1 (01:56:23):
Divisions and the division?

Speaker 2 (01:56:26):
Who's the other one they beat? It's another good win.
I think, Oh no, it's Raiders. That's not as good.

Speaker 1 (01:56:31):
Win, but that's usually a good game between the Chargers Division. Yeah.
So oh wait did they play three division games in
a row? WHOA, that's amazing.

Speaker 2 (01:56:39):
It's a weird schedule this year.

Speaker 1 (01:56:41):
Yeah. So they're the three and oh in the division.
They got to be in the they got to be
in the contenders almost playoffs. I mean you're three and
oh you're halfway through your division? Uh your division games?

Speaker 2 (01:56:53):
Yeah, you're slate. Yeah, Broncos. How much their defense showed
back up? It did, it stepped up, but it wasn't enough.
Bo Nicks looks like that shine is wearing off on
him a little bit. Kind of looks like some other
sophomore year two.

Speaker 1 (01:57:10):
Quarterbacks sophomore slumping it. R J Harvey the god Man.
I went, I thought it was going to be a
run heavy. This rookie was going to be O'marion Hampton,
which we're gonna see a bunch more of him because
of Najie Harris going down. Good. Good job to fantasy players.
I didn't get him in any of my leagues, you know,

(01:57:32):
gotta be got was I was counting on Harvey, but yeah,
he's just I mean, I gotta give it to Jim Harbaugh. Dude.
He knows how to get it the best out of
his quarterbacks. Great game manager, you know, gets his defense.
He's always had a stellar defense wherever he goes. And

(01:57:53):
he's a run first player. And now he's going to
have this rook during the team, which I think is
a better person than Nazi. You know Naz he was not.
He played every game for five years.

Speaker 2 (01:58:03):
Yeah, that's a lot for a running back, and.

Speaker 1 (01:58:05):
Then blows out his achilles on a we did he
He blew it out on a what you man call it,
like when he was just going up to run.

Speaker 2 (01:58:13):
To non contact.

Speaker 1 (01:58:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:58:15):
Harbaugh's ability to instill toughness in his football teams is
such an underrated It's one of those facts, one of
those stats that you there's no way to quantify it.
But it's like the stat I always hear. I love it,
even though it's your team, the Niners. The record of

(01:58:35):
teams for the three weeks after they have to play
San Francisco, and you look at not just their win
loss record, but the amount of injuries that start piling up,
Like you just get physically beaten down by certain teams
in this league.

Speaker 1 (01:58:50):
Two years ago, and it looks like hard ball is
no team one developing, that no team one. After we
played right exactly like their next game was a loss.

Speaker 2 (01:58:58):
That is such an underrated statistics.

Speaker 1 (01:59:00):
Yeah, like they they blew They blew their load on
Bisexual National Day.

Speaker 2 (01:59:06):
We had almost gone a full two hours without breaking
the rule.

Speaker 1 (01:59:11):
Again, their their load of energy.

Speaker 2 (01:59:16):
Oh okay, yeah, I'm sure Brendan Carr will agree. That's
exactly what you meant by that fringe teams. Oh also,
I had Niners Cards. Niners a solid playoff team. We're
about to about to move them over to contender if
they make some trades to sure up the injuries and
get Purty back. We talked. Colts beat Titans. The Danny

(01:59:39):
the Indiana Jones legacy continues.

Speaker 1 (01:59:42):
To grow and the adventure continues.

Speaker 2 (01:59:45):
Man, Bengals look like they're about to start offloading some
guys if this continues. Vikings knock absolutely beat them forty
eight to ten.

Speaker 1 (01:59:56):
Lonnie you or smoking crack.

Speaker 2 (01:59:58):
Bro Vikings Love of Random.

Speaker 1 (02:00:00):
Cowboys ten and seven.

Speaker 2 (02:00:02):
He says, Lonnie, I love you brother, Stay strong for
all of us because I had to seven and seven
and ten is a dream, right.

Speaker 1 (02:00:09):
He's in Arizona, Mexican. From where I'm from, where I'm
saying that Mexican boom make you go crazy, that sounds
more like Minnesota Mexican food.

Speaker 2 (02:00:17):
If you're asking me, Vikings win that one forty eight ten.
I'm curious the Vikings. You know, obviously now Carson Wentz
playing with JJ out, they still have a great defense,
they still have weapons.

Speaker 1 (02:00:30):
Get Addison back this week.

Speaker 2 (02:00:33):
They're in.

Speaker 1 (02:00:36):
Like two more two more weeks.

Speaker 2 (02:00:38):
Depends, Yeah, it could be, could be, it could be
one more game, it could be three. And their bye
week is coming up here as well, exactly.

Speaker 1 (02:00:46):
So, so I mean they're not going to be able
to double JJ like they've been doing. I mean, not JJ,
justin Jeffers, the other JJ, the more talented JJ. So
they're gonna have to cover Addison, and so that's gonna
leave some single coverage on both of them and or
Hockinson's or not not Hockinson. Who's there Hockinson's gonna eat

(02:01:09):
or you know, Aaron Jones Sr. Come back and he's
gonna What was Jordan Mason's show right now, which he
had a stellar game? I told y'all Mason sirius.

Speaker 2 (02:01:22):
I was in a couple of touchdowns.

Speaker 1 (02:01:23):
I was not happy when I saw him leave the
leave the Niners.

Speaker 2 (02:01:26):
And that's where I mean right now. If you're looking
at NFC teams, who do you like better, the Commanders
or the Vikings.

Speaker 1 (02:01:35):
With Jade and Daniels, I gotta go with Jayden exactly. Yeah,
but that's just for splitting Harris exactly. So, I mean,
I think the Vikings are still solidly. They might be
moving back into the playoff column. I think they're gonna be.
I think they'd be wild card.

Speaker 2 (02:01:49):
I kind of after, you know, seeing uh more of
how they're going to play without JJ. Granted, Bengals are
already feeling sorry for themselves with the Burrow injuries. Steelers
beat the Pats by a touchdown twenty one to fourteen.
Steelers are always in the fringe. Call them they're always

(02:02:09):
that last wild card team.

Speaker 1 (02:02:11):
What are they just? They need a quarterback? Man? What
do you mean they got? You got Iahuasca A.

Speaker 2 (02:02:19):
Yeah, they'll be fine. Uh dude, are we officially you
start oh and three? Yeah, the panic button has.

Speaker 1 (02:02:30):
To Only Only one team has gone to the playoffs
after anh and three start.

Speaker 2 (02:02:34):
And I will say again, a team I don't like
to defend.

Speaker 1 (02:02:38):
The gone to the Super Bowl.

Speaker 2 (02:02:39):
Yeah, full super Bowl run. A team I don't like
to defend. But I'm not ready to call the season
on yet or much less. The career of C. J.
Stroud Texans are oh and three. They lose in Jacksonville
seventeen to ten.

Speaker 1 (02:02:58):
Demiko, we don't have a spot for deep offensive coordinator.
Come on, man, you gotta you've gotta save your job.
Gotta save your job, bro, Like, come on, Deco, like
you're dealing with injuries. But that was the night this
next man up, next man up, gets Stroud protected, start moving, like,
get some motion in there, have him do some rollouts.

(02:03:19):
Quit letting them stand back there and get wrecked again.

Speaker 2 (02:03:23):
That offensive line. I don't see how they didn't do
more to address that.

Speaker 1 (02:03:28):
But you but you're gonna get Joe Mixon back in
not this game, but next game.

Speaker 2 (02:03:32):
Hopefully you're also eventually going to see New York Daniel
Jones versus Indiana Jones. That you've seen three, I think
that I think the division balances itself out.

Speaker 1 (02:03:44):
I think the Texans and Indiana Jones man again, that
adventure might go as long as Harrison Ford does. You know.

Speaker 2 (02:03:50):
I think eventually we're gonna get the The Bad remake
with Shia Laboof whatever. That one was called The Crystal City.

Speaker 1 (02:04:00):
Show you one good game and then be run of
bad games. Yeah, he had the moment. Now he's going
three straight good games, Indiana Jones. This is this is
more than a trilogy. This is gonna be you know,
I would be it might be a franchise. I would
just suggest a franchise.

Speaker 2 (02:04:17):
If you're a Texans fan looking at that oh and
three record, you just know the team leading your division
right now is being led by Daniel Jones. So there's
still a lot of football.

Speaker 1 (02:04:28):
Stefon Diggs letting them go seems a little preemptive in
my book.

Speaker 2 (02:04:33):
Right now, Seahawks spank the Saints forty four thirteen. That's
the last of the friend Seattle. I don't know what
to make of them yet. Their defense is real exactly
and and uh, what's his name of Sam Donald? Sam
Donald is at least I mean.

Speaker 1 (02:04:50):
Jackson, Well, what the hell was that is that? The oh?
Oh and Jigba Smith and Jigmas. There we go. That
guy is for real Maneah, he's becoming absolutely.

Speaker 2 (02:05:08):
And then the ass call him mentioned Panthers blank the
Falcons thirty to nothing and uh, your beloved Cowboys fall
to the Bears thirty one fourteen. Yeah, week three is
in the books. We'll make our picks for week four
on the Thursday night show. But before we get out
of here, let's close it out with some lightning round.

Speaker 1 (02:05:31):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (02:05:32):
Starting off, we had the balloon if I say balloon
d'Or what does that mean?

Speaker 1 (02:05:38):
I had to look that up and I was still thinking,
is this cycling? So you do look at the run sheet? Okay? No,
I saw it on the Oh you don't look at that, damn.
Then why do I like to keep it fresh? Because
I want these I want these hot takes.

Speaker 2 (02:05:50):
All right, LG from now on?

Speaker 1 (02:05:52):
Oh?

Speaker 2 (02:05:52):
That makes them.

Speaker 1 (02:05:55):
Really? So I can say it all the time.

Speaker 2 (02:05:57):
I think I think all of us would agree that
helps the product. Keep it fresh instead of prepping or
looking over keep it from No. Uh, PSG's didn't bile
Osmond Uzman Din Baile wins the balloon door. It's it's
like the heisman for soccer players or the MVP. It's
the best player in the world.

Speaker 1 (02:06:18):
Okay, so that's what I was thinking. So like it's
so like it was, you know, freaking Argentina's yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:06:25):
MESSI won a lot, Ronaldo won a lot.

Speaker 1 (02:06:28):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (02:06:29):
PSG last year was just so dominant, winning every competition. Yea,
it was going to be a PSG guy and he's
the top of that list.

Speaker 1 (02:06:37):
I started learning, like the real good players is during
World Cup.

Speaker 2 (02:06:41):
Well, I get ready for it coming up next summer.

Speaker 1 (02:06:43):
So what so what team does he play? What countries
he played for? Uh? He is French? Yeah, playing for
the always got good players man.

Speaker 2 (02:06:53):
Yeah, it's almost like they really care about the sport,
all those French.

Speaker 1 (02:06:58):
It's almost like, I mean.

Speaker 2 (02:06:59):
He four would be an amazing He's basically he's like
CD Lamb like build wise and speed compares like he
would be an awesome receiver. But he girl, he's plays
he's playing song so he's in there.

Speaker 1 (02:07:13):
So he can He's got the height to get the
headers and then he's got the speed.

Speaker 2 (02:07:16):
Ye and he's got a wicked touch with with his
crossing ability. He's he's pretty nasty. The girl where is
she from?

Speaker 1 (02:07:23):
What was there? Third win win in a row? You
didn't see that part.

Speaker 2 (02:07:30):
I believe my sex is on this showing.

Speaker 1 (02:07:35):
Next one, it's bisexual day.

Speaker 2 (02:07:40):
Come on man, all right, man Spanish, I'm gonna go
with the really good.

Speaker 1 (02:07:46):
Like he did a record breaking third win of that
in a row. We're gonna do a little fancy football
recap for the sports Cave Live Fantasy Football league. And
what is up on? They keep on putting ads on
this crap. Well, let's go with the first one as always,
because I'm selfish. My team took it took a whoa

(02:08:13):
what you know? I had CD lamb A yeah, and
I damn near pulled that out. And this is why
I call that run by one Montgomery selfish is because
I lost by a point and a half, exactly because
Lamar Jackson got a garbage touchdown TD at the end

(02:08:36):
of the game. So where I even which me and
him had had a special week together arguing me with
paragraphs that might come up later on the lightning round,
it beats me by one one and a half points,
then we're gonna go through the league matchups, all did
I win? We're gonna We're gonna see we got the

(02:08:59):
new number one taking over the wild card Lonnie mister
ten and seven cowboys crap beating Eli's Ubers. Still in
the zero three column. Eli, you got to start making moves.
Send out some trades. James gang lodes again, Ohen three,
same thing makes some praise. Who wins that one? Puma's

(02:09:19):
Possemo takes the number two spot? King Henry Ivan takes
number three. I take the number four. I lose my
number one AI Overlords. The AI does not win this week,
and I'm sorry for that. But did Brickershaw Ferguson beats
them one ten to eighty five? Eight off Oliver Bush

(02:09:40):
cleaned the plate with a one twenty three seventy nine,
did over Sergio Papaya c and then we got teen
momentumers with a momentum stop by Tulsa State Fair skyride
one twenty six to ninety eight. It's a very tight league.
Somber check your check your waivers. A lot of people

(02:10:04):
went down, a lot of backups out there. There's some gold.
This is why you want to save your waivers. I
am a king at this so.

Speaker 2 (02:10:14):
Zeb was teaching me a little bit of that because
we were discussing some.

Speaker 1 (02:10:19):
Strategy discus strategy, well I was.

Speaker 2 (02:10:22):
I was throwing out some Jerry Jones level trade ideas
and waiver pick up.

Speaker 1 (02:10:28):
He was.

Speaker 2 (02:10:28):
He was kindly explaining to me exactly how waivers work.
And potentially so because we did dip in a little
bit this past week, I know he was making some moves.
But we're getting to the point where it's about to
be time for the absolute wills off trade about five
weeks into the season that I'm gonna propose. So be

(02:10:51):
ya you owing three teen.

Speaker 1 (02:10:53):
You're your three and oh, dude, like you kind of
want to like wait, you don't want to know?

Speaker 2 (02:10:57):
You know who doesn't wait a wildcatter oilman searching for
that next glory hole.

Speaker 1 (02:11:05):
He's not waiting. He's not waiting for anything.

Speaker 2 (02:11:08):
Hit me, LG. We're gonna talk more Thursday about the
Ryder Cup. But it does tee off Friday morning up
at that.

Speaker 1 (02:11:18):
Page us a chance coming you will sit you will.

Speaker 2 (02:11:22):
Ironically enough, you can start watching at six am on
USA Network Friday morning.

Speaker 1 (02:11:28):
You was so we're gonna say am, that's where they're
starting you're for your full coverage.

Speaker 2 (02:11:34):
It's like six till six eight, and they're not. Yeah, yeah,
I promise USA is going live at six am.

Speaker 1 (02:11:40):
You're probably doing analysis, but no one's team off at
six am. There's not one hundred and sixty one hundred
twenty people on the field.

Speaker 2 (02:11:47):
That's when USA is going live. If if you want
to tell me that they're doing four hours of pregame coverage,
I would also believe that, I think, and then ten
am T times, but me and Uncle Andy will be
locked in at five point fifty five waiting for that
six am start. No, I don't want to go too

(02:12:10):
far into it. Yeah, because it's a sad story. But
we had some crazy local news happened since the last
time we all talked. So the founder of the San
Antonio Museum of Science and Technology, which that might sound
like a mouthful, but just know San Antonio was the

(02:12:32):
biggest city in America that didn't have a museum that
was dedicated to science until this was built. Oh wow,
it's crazy, right. Yeah, So like you think, you know,
I take for granted growing up in North Texas.

Speaker 1 (02:12:50):
I've been to San Jose science science museums are so cool.

Speaker 2 (02:12:54):
Like they as a kid they get to touch the exactly.

Speaker 1 (02:12:57):
It's it's the one like as.

Speaker 2 (02:12:59):
A kid, you're like, do you you know history museum,
art museum? Absolutely not no, No, science museum, yes, yes,
science like bingo exactly. So like when you think when
you see the headline of a jet engine falling on

(02:13:21):
a man and crushing him to death, just remember happened here?

Speaker 1 (02:13:27):
Yeah, this so this was at tech Port.

Speaker 2 (02:13:32):
Hey see, this is David Monroe provided this city with
a museum dedicated to science, something that was sorely, sorely
lacking a name that I don't think a lot of
people realized his impact on the city while he was living.
And unfortunately it took an elevator, an elevator, an airplane

(02:13:56):
engine to fall on him. Random accident at tech Port
from from last week and that said did not did
not survive. Also, uh, not physical death, but business death.
The Strip is losing another venue, losing another bar. The
amp Room down there on the Strip is finally calling

(02:14:18):
it quits after a decade. That so none of them
are anymore.

Speaker 1 (02:14:26):
That's the thing. They've been like.

Speaker 2 (02:14:27):
Amproom with one of them exactly, and they've been bought
out by more corporate.

Speaker 1 (02:14:33):
Entities that are not.

Speaker 2 (02:14:35):
Amproom was still the I'll tell you why I'm even
mentioning them because in twenty eleven when we moved here,
the way we met our first friend group was working
for a music blog sat X Music. Shout out Libby
and Kim. They were booking shows on the strip and
amp Room was one of the random was one of

(02:14:58):
the places that would book just local music, not you know,
not if you would get a random touring act every
now and then.

Speaker 1 (02:15:06):
Well south by Southwest still over.

Speaker 2 (02:15:09):
Exactly, but you could go to the amper Room on
a Thursday night and know that it was some local kids,
some local musicians playing shows, and that you exactly. And
that to me is you know, as mentioning the corporatization
of the human experience of concert, you know, very very much. So, yeah,

(02:15:33):
very much.

Speaker 1 (02:15:33):
So.

Speaker 2 (02:15:33):
I knew my buddy Kibler, who's in the band they
traveled over from Austin to play at amp Room. Had
half a dozen times probably, So shout out to the
good owners of amper Room closing it. I think they're
doing three more weeks of service, so if.

Speaker 1 (02:15:50):
You can, I hope your next venture goes well with
that one. Man, good good luck, good luck man, because
it's hard out there.

Speaker 2 (02:15:58):
Yeah, it's well, especially with the live music as it
becomes more monopolized and corporatized. Unfortunately.

Speaker 1 (02:16:05):
AI, Do you got anything else?

Speaker 3 (02:16:07):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (02:16:07):
Here me LG we had. I took a picture of
what Chattizzle picked as the winners for Week three. Let's
see people, Let's see their record bills. We're only going
to count the losses they picked the Bills, Panthers, Packers
one loss, Jaguars, Vikings, Patriots, Eagles, Buccaneers, Titans two losses, Commanders,

(02:16:38):
oh chat gpt on the Titans, Seahawks, Cowboys three losses,
forty nine Ers, Giants four losses, Ravens five losses. Wait,
so outside of the Ravens, I don't trust this AI crap, dude.

Speaker 2 (02:16:55):
Outside of the Ravens, those were my exact picks usually.

Speaker 1 (02:17:00):
No, that's.

Speaker 2 (02:17:02):
That's what I'm saying, Like, I'm just I'm just that
good at this.

Speaker 1 (02:17:06):
Not no O the Cowboys.

Speaker 2 (02:17:12):
Yeah, what the hell was I thinking? What the hell
was the hit melog? Let's get out here. I got
one more for you in your honor. I know it's
a hard day for you. It's a rough day for
all the cow pokes out there.

Speaker 1 (02:17:25):
The one and only Cowboys.

Speaker 2 (02:17:29):
Ironically enough, yesterday September twenty second, the day before Oklahoma
State would end up firing him. Yeah, it was the eighteen.

Speaker 1 (02:17:41):
We can't do it on the anniversary? Can we one
day after? Oh?

Speaker 2 (02:17:45):
My god, that's literally why they waited a day that
you didn't know that, I didn't I don't.

Speaker 1 (02:17:51):
Know mine II evidence didn't want to do it before,
and they didn't want to do it on it. So
in the one day after to be respectful and and.

Speaker 2 (02:18:00):
We're gonna be respectful. Yes, And I'll give you a
solid minute, we're gonna get of Mike Gundhy's epic rant
on September twenty second, two thousand and seven.

Speaker 1 (02:18:12):
Anybody hasn't read this article.

Speaker 4 (02:18:13):
I don't read it. This was brought to me by
a mother.

Speaker 1 (02:18:18):
I've children.

Speaker 2 (02:18:20):
Thank you for clarifying, Mike.

Speaker 4 (02:18:21):
Let me tell you you talk about this article. Three
fourths of this is inaccurate.

Speaker 1 (02:18:27):
Stick actor. Here's all that kid did.

Speaker 4 (02:18:32):
He goes to class, he's respectful to the media, he's
respectful to the public, and he's a good kid. And
he's not a professional athlete, and he doesn't deserve to
be kicked when he's down. That's why I don't read
the newspaper. It's because garbage, and the editor that let
it come out is garbage.

Speaker 1 (02:18:52):
Come after me. I'm a man, I'm forty.

Speaker 4 (02:18:57):
I'm not I'm not a kid. Write something about.

Speaker 1 (02:18:59):
Me or our coaches.

Speaker 4 (02:19:03):
That's all I got to say.

Speaker 3 (02:19:04):
It makes me want to peak.

Speaker 2 (02:19:09):
Those hill billy journalists clapping. A good job, mister Gundy.
Way to tell, way to put that younger reporter Oklahoma, sir,
I'm sorry, did you say of Oklahoma? I rest my case?
Rest in power, Mike Gundy. You get to watch all
the OA N you want now and it.

Speaker 1 (02:19:29):
Won't affect your recruiting.

Speaker 2 (02:19:31):
You won't have players boycotting team meetings based on.

Speaker 1 (02:19:34):
Your black bullet was the best thing in college football
for years.

Speaker 2 (02:19:38):
Whoever replaced Jeff Traylor has to grow a mullet if
he replaces replaces Mike Gundhy.

Speaker 1 (02:19:42):
All right, that'll do it.

Speaker 2 (02:19:43):

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
