In this wildly entertaining episode of The Sports Cave with Biggest Puma, host Sam Freas takes listeners on a rollercoaster ride through the chaos of traversing San Antonio, the agony of watching the Spurs drop a close one, and the incredibly tragic Cowboys news. From a 32-mile detour courtesy of The Roommate to a hilarious iced coffee incident at the Original Donut Shop, Sam sets the tone with his signature blend of storytelling and sarcasm.

The show dives into the weekend football preview, sans Cowboys (thanks to a bye week), and pays tribute to the late Marshawn Kneeland, whose passing casts a somber shadow over the sports world. But don’t worry—Sam lightens the mood with a dose of X-Files weirdness, a spicy debate on women drivers, and a nostalgic trip to Mardi Gras and Vegas that includes trading escort cards like baseball collectibles.

The episode also features a passionate rant about the Spurs’ unwatchable game, where referees stole the spotlight and left fans fuming. Sam and Cap break down Jeremy Sohan’s promising return, the contagious energy he brings, and what it means for the team moving forward.

And just when you think it couldn’t get more eclectic, Sam recounts watching a full Radiohead concert—yes, all 2 hours and 15 minutes of it—while sipping mezcal and dodging roommate revenge.

Don’t miss this episode packed with laughs, rants, and real talk. Speaker 1 (00:00):
Lie Ban, lie Ban, lie Ban, life Ban.

Speaker 2 (00:12):
Oh my god, fifteen years fellas almost fifteen fifteen years
In February. February twenty twenty six will be fifteen years
that me and the roommate have lived in this city.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, oh, I got this a real annoyance.

Speaker 2 (00:33):
Look what time did I get here? What time did
I walk in? About like six minutes ago, about six
minutes ago, about a minute before the countdown started. Yeah,
fifteen years and the roommate still doesn't understand how everything
in this city connects, She asked me as we were,
you know, this afternoon, I'm thinking nothing of it. I've

(00:55):
already got I did three three hours worth of prep
for Andy show. Yes, nobody told me it was only
an hour and a half. So I've got an hour
and a half of content left from yesterday. So the
run sheet today was it made itself super easy, chill, afternoon, fresh, notdy,
roommate new nody, that's right.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:16):
Roommate asked me this afternoon, can you drop me off
at a friend's house on the way to LG's. I
was like, yeah, as long as it's on the way.
Oh yeah, no, yeah it is.

Speaker 1 (01:25):
No, I mean if you were in the center of
the city, isn't anything on the way?

Speaker 2 (01:30):
I think that is literally the logic she used, because
from downtown, I guess, yeah, everything technically could be on
the way.

Speaker 1 (01:39):
It's like a pizza pie.

Speaker 2 (01:41):
I drove damn near to Leon Valley. I just drove
thirty two miles in this city. We see from downtown
to Hebner and I ten down Hebner and then all
the way out here to the north side.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
My thing is, you're still surprised after.

Speaker 2 (01:59):
Yeah, that's that's the fac that's the fallacy, that's the problem.

Speaker 1 (02:03):
It's on me. That was me waiting in the car
when the wife he's like, oh, I'll be out there
one minute. Now, I go out there, get the car
started thinking she's gonna be five minutes tops. I'm the idiot. Yeah,
definition in Sandy, I'm gonna do the same thing over
and over and expect the same different response.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
No, and I should have, like you said, it's on me.
I should have asked what the address was the minute
she asked if I could drop her off. Should have
tried to figure out exactly what kind of journey I
had ahead. I left the house, I left downtown at
six thirty. I pad it in an extra half hour, man,
thinking that that would be plenty.

Speaker 1 (02:39):
Over by eye ten and six thirty. Still, dude, especially
daily like daylight savings time, I had to go over
to not that far, but I had to go over
to uh four ten in night ten, and I was like, Okay,
I'll leave at six. You know, the the main part
of rush Hower is gonna be over wrong. No, oh
my god, it's nighttime at six o'clock. Yeah, it was

(03:02):
just the light. It was just like la traffic.

Speaker 2 (03:05):
Speaking of four to ten, I think I just drove
on four ten for the first time in at least
a year. Like I know, I know this that shines
badly on me of never leaving my downtown bubble except
for the two eighty one corridor to get to iHeart.

Speaker 1 (03:19):
I mean, you don't like visiting the west or the
east side. I love it.

Speaker 2 (03:22):
I go to the south side of the Silver Star,
best Chinese food in town, little southside hole in the
wall spot.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
So spectacle buffet is it? Uh?

Speaker 2 (03:32):
No, you don't need a buffet. It's it's that good.
It's solid.

Speaker 1 (03:36):
Uh. Family portions uh.

Speaker 2 (03:38):
And family arguments every time you walk in there. In Mandarin.
So it's spectacular. It's so great. That's the two SATs.
Two sisters are always arguing. The sun is trying to
scramble to play mediator between the two of them. Spectacular.
Now I visit other parts of the city. I just
take city streets. I was over at the uh Original

(04:00):
donut shop this morning, drove fred rode all the way
down there from my house. I didn't throw iced coffee
on any cars, didn't scare any women that cut in
front of me in line.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
Is that your thing? I throw an ice coffee that
might or.

Speaker 2 (04:16):
Might not have happened at one point in a previous
in a previous Texas. Yeah, you know, roadways will get
you shot, even even from the nicest looking middle aged
woman she was. They're they're probably packing too. But when
you cut, when you do me dirty like that and
cut in front of me at the donut line as

(04:36):
I'm waving.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
Oh so you got to sit there and just stare
at her? Oh dude, I did.

Speaker 2 (04:40):
I got out of the car and literally spiked that
ice call allegedly got out of the car and spiked
that ice coffee right on her windshield, went everywhere again,
allegedly fifteen years and the roommate still doesn't quite understand
how everything connects her. But fear not, we're lighting the beam.
I've made it in uh.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
Puma says, women don't drive.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
With six minutes to spare. I'm a you know, I'm
a I'm a traditional.

Speaker 1 (05:09):
They don't know how to drive. They can't drive.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
Look, there's a lot of conservative things about me.

Speaker 1 (05:13):
Stay stay in the kitchen.

Speaker 2 (05:14):
And there's one of those is if I am in
the vehicle, yeah, I'm gonna drive. There's just there's no
it's not a negotiation.

Speaker 1 (05:24):
It's me. I like to do that just because it
gets you there faster. You have control of the situation.
Here's your control. Iss you think fair? Yeah? Coming back
to that yeah last week.

Speaker 2 (05:34):
Yeah, but I feel like that's gonna be a mine
likes to go ninety ah.

Speaker 1 (05:40):
So it's literally scaring the s out of me. Oh yeah,
so you're you're getting a double yeah yeah, dripping down
my leg.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
I will say this, Steph is of all of the
women in my life previously that had ever driven me around,
including you know, grandmother Ma. Any any female drive stuff
is miles ahead of everyone else. I mean, she was
raised going to the drag strip. Yeah, like stuff can

(06:08):
run a ten second quarter mile if the car can
do it, like she's a great driver.

Speaker 1 (06:12):
Oh my god.

Speaker 2 (06:13):
Just the directions to get there, that's where things get
a little rock Well, let's.

Speaker 1 (06:18):
Save this for the main Seggee, because that's what we're
talking about on the main segment, women drivers.

Speaker 2 (06:22):
No, the main segment, We've got our weekend football preview
to get to Sam's Cowboys as they're on a bye
But unfortunately, of course, as everyone knows by now, we
do have terrible story to We'll cover that to Marshawn
Neeland's passing.

Speaker 1 (06:38):
We'll get to that in cow Notes.

Speaker 2 (06:41):
I figured with the UH, with the way I can
already anticipate that segment's going to be a downer, I
figured i'd sprinkle in some X files. We hadn't done
those in a while, So we've got a little bit
of fun video to get to as well as gotta
talk Spurs got to UH will combine the what I
watched with Spurs notes, because I think a lot of

(07:03):
people get it was almost unwatched.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
That was rough. That was rough, That was unwatchable, you know,
taking someone down and beating them with the rubber hose
out back should be brought back as a form of
punishment for making me watch three hours of the referees. Yeah,
there was. I didn't want to watch the refs now,
I wanted to watch the players.

Speaker 2 (07:24):
It was a ref show with oddly oddly time challenges
and coaches getting coming on the court. What do you
expect when it's the league rigged it? So they got Luca,
Like the league takes care of the Lakers, and we
saw that on full display last night. Uh So we'll

(07:46):
talk about that in Spurs and then actually Lightning round, have.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
Some I got some windows.

Speaker 2 (07:52):
I was about saying, there's actually some there's actually some
solid news stories to get to in the Lightning Round,
and then we'll end with uh, a Spurs related event
that happened this week in nineteen ninety four, on this day,
So it would have been Tuesday night, but I didn't.
I got my dates wrong. I was thinking it was

(08:14):
Thursday night, but it actually happened on November fourth in
nineteen ninety four.

Speaker 1 (08:20):
We're not going to you know, yeah, we'll keep that.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
For the end.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
A little suspense we need to have, Like Levelgie can
make a little guitar riff be like on this day.

Speaker 2 (08:30):
Yeah, we did the little like the Bill and Ted guitar.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
Five minute music man with Yeah, enjoy that new enjoy
that new old music.

Speaker 2 (08:42):
Who forty days forty days till the Emirates NBA Cup Final,
where we expect to see the spurs hoisting the tradition
rich Immirates sponsored Emertismertis airline pass we've actually, uh doesn't
what he doesn't se hike do the isn't that Immirates

(09:05):
air hiking?

Speaker 1 (09:07):
Do anythings she wants?

Speaker 2 (09:08):
I think she does. I think they paid her a
buttload of money.

Speaker 1 (09:11):
To do their free first class for life. I'm what
do you want me to do? Yeah? I'm sure, I'm sure.
I'm sure you'd be fined with that. Now they got
little apartment cabins in there.

Speaker 2 (09:22):
Oh it's nice.

Speaker 1 (09:23):
Yeah, it's really nice. Joined the Mahig club and they're
allowing it.

Speaker 2 (09:26):
Ask uh Antonio Brown how it probably felt flying back
from Dubai on that Immirates air I'm sure.

Speaker 1 (09:33):
Was he in cuffs? Is what? It? Is?

Speaker 3 (09:36):
It? A?

Speaker 1 (09:37):
What movie was that? Like? Passenger fifty seven?

Speaker 3 (09:39):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (09:39):
Yeah, Escape Snipe? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (09:43):
Is Wesley Snipes out of prison?

Speaker 1 (09:44):
Yet? Sure?

Speaker 2 (09:47):
He did the old tax evasion.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
Well, I mean he was in Deadpool three.

Speaker 2 (09:50):
Oh that's right. Yeah, he's out.

Speaker 1 (09:52):
Yeah he only did like a year. I mean he did.

Speaker 2 (09:54):
I think it was more than I know.

Speaker 1 (09:55):
He's the darkest of the dark. He did a white people's.

Speaker 2 (09:58):
Yeah, that was very white collar. Hey, look, I for
one love to see it. Yeah, it's it's it's it's
about time we balance those of those sentencing structures out
a little bit.

Speaker 1 (10:08):
Cheating the taxpayers out of millions and millions of dollars
should seem like a pretty severe crime. Other than no,
but you would sell in the bag of weed, you know.
Oh well, god forbid. No.

Speaker 2 (10:19):
Hell, if you have children, imagine the children go back
to when we were in high school. Like, the fear
of a flake of anything illegal in my car is
the reason I took such good care of my cars.
That's the reason they got vacuumed out every day after school.

Speaker 1 (10:35):
Dude, I did the exact op. Mom kept it dirty.
Oh okay, that could be anything, you.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
Know what that might be, But that might have been
the better strategy. Now, Yeah, because then if you keep
it spotless clean and you slip up with one flake,
it's very very you discourage the cops from looking like
I think you've I think you've cracked. I think you've
cracked the better method there. It should also say before
we get to LG real quick, it is some of

(11:04):
these national days, I feel like absolutely one was formed first,
and then there was a response to the first one formed.
Like remember when we had the it was the it
was like, uh, National Marguerita Day, but it was also
National makeup baby Day. You know, it was like, clearly

(11:26):
these are connected. So the one tonight it's National men
make Dinner Day? Man, I kind of I would assume.

Speaker 1 (11:36):
I mean, I like the barbecue everyone. I was about
to say, I think there's a I think a lot
of dudes make Yeah, a lot of dudes make.

Speaker 2 (11:44):
Dinner for their families and don't get the respect.

Speaker 1 (11:47):
Yeah, I agree, I don't get the respect that.

Speaker 2 (11:49):
This is now just a full we're going out of
We're going full Andrew T Alpha podcast tonight, I'm bitching
about women drivers and now we're like, men make dinner too?
Where do Why don't we get the credit for.

Speaker 1 (12:02):
When I make dinner? It's like I spend forty six
dollars to get the spices everything correct and I'm like, man,
we should have just ordered we should Yeah.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
About halfway through it, it's like, oh man, I've still
got another hour of this.

Speaker 1 (12:16):
Oh my god.

Speaker 2 (12:16):
So it's also a national nacho's Day.

Speaker 1 (12:21):
Oh that's a good response, which.

Speaker 2 (12:23):
Makes me feel like men were just like, Okay, here's
bag of cheese, throw it in the microt sauce on it.

Speaker 1 (12:30):
We get to go. Baby.

Speaker 2 (12:31):
Yeah, if you're really fancy, put it under the broiler.
But the white trash nachos I grew up with were
just leftover tortilla chips, sprinkled cheese, throw some salt to
get some life into them.

Speaker 1 (12:44):
Absolutely, I had a friend because like in when I
was young, I didn't really experiment with like tabasca or
any kind of hot sauce, you know, because we were white.
It's like we didn't know what flavor was just yet.
It takes introduction, it takes a little like, oh my god,
that's that flavor.

Speaker 2 (13:05):
But it goes both ways because there's also like the
Rednecks I was raised by the other computer, they're putting
the spiciest sauce you've ever had on everything.

Speaker 1 (13:15):
Because those Rednecks went to jail.

Speaker 2 (13:17):
And they also changed smoke cigarettes, so they have no
taste buds.

Speaker 1 (13:21):
They went to jail and they had to make all
the food taste somewhere. So but he used to soak
popcorn seeds in tabasco overnight and then pop the popcorn.
And I'm telling you, like I couldn't eat it. We
were actually genius. It's genius. Yes, they're from Louisiana, you know, dude. Yeah,

(13:42):
I love the cages and crafty man. That was the
first time I went to them on Mardi Gras when
I was eleven years old. Didn't really get the experience.
Still saw some you know, areolas sure you know, hey,
that's the medical term.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
I like it.

Speaker 1 (13:59):
There was mariola Is. We got to sit in a
little booth and watch them catch the beads and whatnot.
But they also had the crowd ads where you go.
And still not a fan of crawd ad. It's too
much work. Give me a word, give me a craph
you know, crab is pretty. But I go and take
the potato because I'm like, I don't want to just

(14:19):
be disrespected. Give me give me this fuch soaked up
all the sume. Yeah, bro in and out problem. I
can imagine. It was a problem. I can kind of
see how that ended.

Speaker 2 (14:35):
I can kind of yeah, I can kind of imagine
you're speaking about you going to Marty Garral when you're eleven.
That reminds me of Uh. I don't know why. But
we were on a family vacation with another family that
I grew up with. We had been we had been
out in Glorieta, New Mexico, for a church. It's Gloriata.

(14:56):
It's a church camp. It was a summer church camp.
It's where I was told that kiss kiss met knights
in service of Satan. You know that that kind of
church camp. Yeah, real fun one, real uplifting, totally unifying message.

Speaker 1 (15:12):
Uh. But my parents and the house where the the
hell House is the same.

Speaker 2 (15:17):
Yeah, it's the same same bent of evangelic evangelical Christians.
The family, the other family we were with, wanted to
extend the trip and go Arizona four Corners. And then
once we got there, it was like anybody ever been
to Vegas? And I was like it was me and

(15:38):
my buddy exactly. In my in my head, I was like,
how do you justify taking us to this church camp
for a week and then we're gonna go to Vegas
two days later.

Speaker 1 (15:49):
That's the good thing about Christianity. You get to repent.

Speaker 2 (15:51):
That's perfect.

Speaker 1 (15:51):
Yeah, well that's Catholics.

Speaker 2 (15:54):
Well, jem has died for yeah, all of us, even
if you didn't want it or not. So I'm like
ten years old, maybe eleven like you are. Maybe actually
I might have even been younger. I think I was
under ten. And the first thing me and my buddy
learned about Vegas is all of the ads, business cards,
business cards that are just littered everywhere.

Speaker 1 (16:17):
The hooker cards was the professional sex worker card, the.

Speaker 2 (16:22):
Escort services, very very professional, very legal, very uh, very useful,
very handy to have, especially as a nine year old kid.

Speaker 1 (16:32):
Don't expect that, girl, No, you ain't getting anything close
to what you're seeing on the card. Dude.

Speaker 2 (16:40):
We had stacks that we were picked up in. We
had stacks before either of our parents realized the we're
trading them like their baseball cards before like before class started, Like,
oh you got a King Griffy, here you go, here's it,
Jason Giambi, let's trade.

Speaker 1 (17:00):
Well. The experience with Vegas when I was a kid
wanted to go was the movie The Wizard. Ah. Yes,
when the old Superness was coming out in Mario three
and the Glove. But they went to Vegas and they
had like an arcade, a huge arcade in Vegas, and
I was like, that's what I want to.

Speaker 2 (17:16):
Do, see and that's how they passed it off. We
stayed at Vegas in the late nineties and we stayed
at Circus Circus because it was like, there's an amusement park,
We'll go to the amusement park. It'll be it'll be
wholesome family entertainment.

Speaker 1 (17:32):
Noah.

Speaker 2 (17:32):
It was one of the greatest, one of the greatest memories,
quite a foundational moment of my early adolescent, prepebescent childhood.
So yeah, like I say, we're gonna we're gonna merge
what I watched into Spurs notes. So we'll hold on
to that for a second. I will say the roommate

(17:54):
making me drive basically to Austin him back tonight before
I came here my have been a bit of revenge
because what I made her watch last night. I could
understand why she might be a bit frustrated with me.

Speaker 1 (18:10):
This not Spurs.

Speaker 2 (18:12):
After the Spurs game, so we went over to, uh,
there's a great pizza spot on the like market side
of downtown. Leo's over there, and then Double Standard right
next to it, so we went, this is the thing. Also,
it's so awesome that the Spurs are good again because
upscale cocktail trendy hipster cocktail bars where their TVs are

(18:35):
usually showing some like nineteen seventy softcore porn, you know,
to set the mood because it's it's a you know,
get your cocktails, watch.

Speaker 1 (18:43):
Your that's so trendy you would be surprised.

Speaker 2 (18:47):
Yeah, the uh bars like that are now showing the
Spurs game.

Speaker 1 (18:52):
Nice.

Speaker 2 (18:52):
They had the TVs turned off until nine o'clock when
the Spurs game came on. So we grabbed pizza, went
to Double Standard, had a few scal old fashions, watch
the Spurs game. So I'm you know, I'm feeling down
because the Spurs lost, but I'm lit because I've been
drinking mescal all night.

Speaker 1 (19:10):
Smoky. Oh, it's so good. So we get home.

Speaker 2 (19:13):
It was me the roommate and said friend that I
just dropped roommate off at her house. She was with
us last night. And we got back to the house.
The first thing I put on was a Nick Mullen
because she said she liked Stavey, you know, the stand
up comedian Stavros Hawkas. However you say his last name.

(19:33):
She called fat balding dude really funny on the podcast,
I suggest.

Speaker 1 (19:39):
You listen to that.

Speaker 2 (19:40):
I won't say the name, so we don't break our
FCC rules. So she said she likes stave and so
I immediately put a Nick Mullen stand up special on
and the first three jokes are like, yep.

Speaker 1 (19:57):
Dennisoid, rape and abortion, and it's like, I didn't really
think about it's funny. He hit the ground run, he
hit the ground running.

Speaker 2 (20:03):
Yeah, it's kind of like Airplane, like when you go
back and watch Airplane. It came out in nineteen eighty.
It's rated PG, but in the first five minutes there's
racism on abortion jokes like you don't remember, yeah, because
you just remember it being funny, and it is and
you can make fun you can do jokes out of
u racy material. And that's exactly what he did.

Speaker 1 (20:25):
Man Wednesdays, like especially I guess maybe the full moon.
Oh yeah, it was the beaver moon. Well, the beaver moon.
I guess it makes you watch crazy movies at the
end of the night, like I wasn't all toasted on mescal,
you know, old fashions. It might have been on some
more of the things, sure, but I introduced toasting materials
to introduced some of my friends to the classic first

(20:47):
ever Cohen Brothers movie first, Uh, leaving Las Vegas raising Arizona.

Speaker 2 (20:54):
That's what god? Yeah, dang it, I had Vegas on
the mind.

Speaker 1 (20:59):
That sweet Nick Cage. You know everybody in that who's
the main character of the female what's her name?

Speaker 2 (21:10):
I can see it.

Speaker 1 (21:11):
Oh, not Jody Foster, but John Goodman, John Goodman coming
out like the way they come out of the whole
while escaping the jail. The dude, there's a crazy story
about that bike dude that goes into Oh, Francis McDermott
yeah in it too. Oh it's so good, all right, Malaca, Yeah,

(21:35):
that might be worthy. I feel like that would.

Speaker 2 (21:39):
Have been a bigger hit with the crowd instead of
the Nick Mullens stand up. But once Steph's friend went
to sleep, then I made the dramatic shift where it's like, oh, okay,
well she's not watching this anymore. I'm gonna actually put
it on something that apparently only I want to watch, Uh,
something happened this week that hasn't happened in fourteen years,

(22:03):
and it involves one of my, if not my all
time favorite band.

Speaker 1 (22:11):
Are You Not?

Speaker 2 (22:14):
Thom York and the Boys are back touring. Radio Head
is back on tour in Europe. Yeah, And so I
put on their full two hour and fifteen minutes set
from the first show in Madrid.

Speaker 1 (22:29):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (22:30):
And to the roommate's credit, she fought through all of it.
I skipped like three of the twenty songs they played,
but my god, yeah it that might have been some
of the revenge she was seeking this hindy.

Speaker 1 (22:42):
With an OJ white people man. Yeah, very much Trump.

Speaker 2 (22:47):
I don't like I've driven on four ten for the
first time in the year. I watched the full radio
Headed set last night, Like it's you don't have to
tell me. I'm not doing myself any favors. I understand, LG.
I just realized we haven't told the good people we
need to. We need to make some money to cover
some of these subscriptions we have popping up. It's that

(23:08):
time of year, the annual subscriptions are popping up for
some renewal. So LG tell the good people how they
can support the program.

Speaker 1 (23:17):
You can help out by throwing a tip in the

just did. That's been the best line of the night
so far.

Speaker 1 (23:42):
Yes, he was holding on to that one.

Speaker 2 (23:45):
Yeah, definitely. If I appreciate all of y'all that have
supported so far. We do have. I think we officially
did purchase the mics. Correct, correct. There is rumor that
this is going to be the final show where we
got the stands.

Speaker 1 (24:01):
Yeah might, I might. Uh. There might be some old
stickers or promotions on there which I'm gonna be like
gonna talk to the owner and be you want us,
you want these on there? What do you want to
cut me in? Open bar tap?

Speaker 2 (24:15):
Maybe a little sponsorship opportunities I should I guess we
should throw that out there as well. Now that we have,
Now that I have filled up an entire notebook of
us doing shows, I feel like I might be confident
enough in the in the foundation we've laid.

Speaker 1 (24:32):
To way to sell ourselves open up for some business.

Speaker 1 (25:07):
And his phone numbers two to one.

Speaker 2 (25:08):
Oh oh okay, and that's not true. I still got that.
I'll always have the syntex if I can. I've still
got the same number from junior. My voicemail is still
the same in tag as when I was in junior
high when I got the Phone's so cool.

Speaker 1 (25:25):
No, it's not.

Speaker 2 (25:26):
It's just I don't care less and I've never changed.
It's still my dad. I think going Sam Freeze, I
think that's exactly what it is. Yeah, So if you
do want to get involved, reach out to us, and
of course with the super chats. Any that come through,
we will hit them before the lightning round. And should
also say I noticed we picked up a few more

(25:48):
Subby's on YouTube this week. The subscriptions on YouTube absolutely free,
will never cost you a penny, will never charge you
a dime. But they go a long long way to
helping us find our way in the ocean of that
is the YouTube algorithm, so that.

Speaker 1 (26:04):
We can leverage against those tech billionaires.

Speaker 2 (26:07):
Hey, we got to do something. It's time. It's time
to take back some of the power, and that starts
with marching towards a thousand Subbys. I thought I was
going to be massively distracted by football tonight because I
was really really looking forward to the UTSA game after
the way they dominated Tulane last week on national television.

(26:30):
They are twenty four and zero in conference play under
Jeff Trailer inside the dome. They are not the same
team when they are on the road. UTSA currently losing
forty five to ten.

Speaker 1 (26:45):
I was about to look it up.

Speaker 2 (26:46):
I know, I know, I just looked it up for
the sake of awareness, and it is a not good
forty five to ten at the half in South Florida.
Poor Andy and the boys will have a very very quiet.

Speaker 1 (27:02):
Trip home, very somber breakdown.

Speaker 2 (27:04):
Yeah, speaking of since Andy is in South Florida, I
should also say I'm back filling in for Andy again
tomorrow four to seven on ticket and it actually is
a three hour show.

Speaker 1 (27:14):
I have confirmed.

Speaker 2 (27:17):
Yeah, I've confirmed that this second half of my prep
will go to good use tomorrow whatever we don't get
to here tonight.

Speaker 1 (27:25):
So all that being said, shout out to Modestol in Chicago.
It's it's a hiccog with the Cno.

Speaker 2 (27:33):
Hey, the roommate'll be up there in a couple of weeks.
Good corporate headquarter visit.

Speaker 1 (27:39):
I've got a large Polish sausage dodge right.

Speaker 2 (27:42):
In my art Still Places, it's still Places. I'll give
you the choice. Since you haven't seen the run sheet
since I stopped sending them, I'll ask you we'll produce
on the fly here. You want to do X files first,
or you want to get into spurs notes first.

Speaker 1 (28:00):
Oh man, we're gonna have to rip off that band
aid and give him what he wants. Grassias, Greg, he
beats he's celebrating five dollars. Oh yeah, Greg, Greg, keep up, y'all.
You gotta take him out of first place.

Speaker 2 (28:14):
Greg destroyed us. But it's a long season.

Speaker 1 (28:17):
Yeah, yeah, let's let's rip off that band aid with
the Spurs with the most unwatchable games ever. I hate
it when refs take over. You know, the game is.

Speaker 2 (28:26):
Just there were positives at least to take out of it.
Jemmy Sohan's debut actually you know, double digits off the bench.
Not just that, but you see, you see how his
specific skill set is unique to everyone else on the roster.
He can do things for this team that no one
else on the roster can do. And I think he

(28:47):
can stretch it for gold, drive ahead the nice corner
three there in the third quarter. I think it was
a defense. Defense. Defense is the big thing. And as
as much as I you know, as much as I
like bashed the momentum argument or anything like that, I

(29:07):
do believe that certain guys play with different energy that
doesn't create momentum, but it builds energy amongst the other
four guys on the court. Like when so Han's out there,
it feels like everyone's got a little bit more of
an edge.

Speaker 1 (29:24):
Maybe if that makes like it's it's contagious, Yeah, exactly.
Contagious is the word winning a contagious effort is contagious,
you know, like Uhufunga, my old San Francisco Niners safety
out here when they got back, when he got back
on the Denvers. Duh, it was a different team. Now

(29:45):
it was the top five defense that I predicted, if
not the best defense in the league, which Houston's rivaling
in them, which is amazing. But yeah, just certain players.
Paula Malu was that guy. Ed Reid was that guy.
I just watched a clip of all Brian Brandon Dawkins.

Speaker 2 (30:03):
Oh old Brian Dawkins, old safety for the Eagles.

Speaker 1 (30:06):
Yeah, all his hits and the contagiousness that he had.
He would like flatten Jerome Bettis, you know, coming out
of the safety spot. It's just and how does get
how does own? How does because it gets you go?

Speaker 2 (30:20):
Okay, Yeah, the energy play I was about say, I
was trying to figure out how Brian Dawkins connected to Yeah,
but I see I actually I do see the weave.
You you're doing the we It was a week you're
doing the weave, and eventually we got back there.

Speaker 1 (30:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (30:36):
The you know, unfortunately, uh spurs drop it one eighteen
one sixteen, but uh.

Speaker 1 (30:43):
Both teams play are both teams did play hard.

Speaker 2 (30:46):
There it was eight against five out there, come on,
at times it was it was eight against five. Also,
I will say this something that the refs had no
involvement in, well, in a in a small sense, I
mean Wenby fouls out and plays another lackluster performance puts
in another lack But he spoke about it after the

(31:06):
game where specifically you're seeing teams send the double team quicker. Yeah,
they're not waiting on him to make any kind of move.
It's an immediate as soon as he gets the ball,
here comes the double. And he said after the game,
you know, right now the game is moving faster than
it has in the past.

Speaker 1 (31:28):
Low in the first because they said in that one
because he wasn't shooting nine threes a game, so they
were guarding him up top, so he has the chance
to go around him. And he exposed that in the
first five games. And now they're if this guy gets
the ball like I saw him, triple team rais and

(31:48):
and it resulted he ended up having five turnovers as well,
and you saw the impact that it it's a different
He's got to stop bringing the ball down low for sure.
You know, you got to keep that ball high. Man.
No one's gonna get you.

Speaker 2 (32:01):
And if they do, they're gonna get You're gonna get
a foul because you're so tall.

Speaker 1 (32:04):
And he's getting the shack treatment. There was so many
like even on that that one dunk he had. They
just sit there and just hit him right on the arm.
But he just slams it home. I mean, if you're
gonna call it for the Lakers, if you're gonna have,
let Marcus smart, Marcus smartest. So shout out to my
osue cowboy, shout out to Marcus. You're killing me man.

Speaker 2 (32:25):
Colieville Heritage, I think I saw him play.

Speaker 1 (32:30):
In high school.

Speaker 2 (32:31):
I think he's one of the DFW school Flower Mound,
not Colieville Heritage. Sorry, Flower Mount, not sorry.

Speaker 1 (32:38):
But uh it's just the reps just whistle. We were
in the penalty with eight and a half in the
second quarter and we were getting our momentum. At that time,
we were up, and what kills momentum? Free throws constant, constant.

Speaker 2 (32:56):
Well do you want to talk about that right there?
I mean the way the game did with free throws.

Speaker 1 (33:02):
Shampenny man, I bet he shoots a thousand free throws today,
I bet so.

Speaker 2 (33:06):
I do think uh Sean nailed it on the broadcast
last night where he said specifically, in situations like that,
the majority of the time when a player misses the
first free throw and that kind of situation, it's usually
back iron because he's over compensating. He's you know, pushing
too hard, shooting it too hard that it bounces off

(33:29):
the back because you're thinking so much about you got
to make the first one in order to get the
second one to matter. And yeah, Shampenny immediately took that,
took that first free iron.

Speaker 1 (33:43):
Kobe through like watching all his clutch free throws, it
was always front iron and yeah, yeah, front iron and in. Yeah,
so he either switch it or just in and so
that that kind of makes sense where he's like, Okay,
I'm gonna shoot it a little bit softer on this one,
but I'm still gonna have that high percentage.

Speaker 2 (34:02):
I also think the TV or like watching it on TV, Yeah,
it looked like it should have been more like point
six or point seven seconds instead of what point four
or whatever they settled.

Speaker 1 (34:12):
Yeah, I think they settled. They they should have been
point six. Yeah, it was clearly point and.

Speaker 2 (34:18):
The Spurs almost got the tip in off the second
intentional miss.

Speaker 1 (34:23):
And if Mimby wasn't fouled out like that probably would
have helped.

Speaker 2 (34:27):
Yeah, that probably would have helped because Wemby that last
foul was still it was like right at the two
minute mark, I think it was to.

Speaker 1 (34:35):
Like two and a half. I think it was like
two and a half minutes.

Speaker 2 (34:37):
It was over to me. I couldn't remember if it
was right over right under.

Speaker 1 (34:40):
Lucas playing with five fouls for a whole quarter and
he was in the mix, and I didn't see any
cheapy calls going that way. I mean, we only had
two when they were in the bonus in the fourth,
we had two fouls yea for us. So it was
clearly I don't think it was are you know, suffocating

(35:02):
defense and hacking away Bruce Bowen style. M It was
they wanted the Lakers on primetime TV because they've been slow.
They wanted that, you know, they wanted adversity. They just
didn't want Spurs to keep on winning. And I see
we didn't. We didn't help ourselves out too much.

Speaker 2 (35:24):
This is where I joke that they rigged it to
get Luca, like the NBA obviously we're seeing has had
some issues with rigging things lately. But I also I
don't think the league office and get game in game six,
game seven of the season is saying, all right, we
need the Lakers to win this. Our whole league's foundation,

(35:47):
our whole league's future depends on this regular season game
in early November. I do, I mean, I think there's
I think you're going to see that was.

Speaker 1 (35:55):
The record amount of foul calls this season already. That
doesn't surprise me by large margin. But I think by
like fifteen to sixteen fouls.

Speaker 2 (36:03):
The way, the way, the the way the game was played,
there was like the physicality of seven fouls. That doesn't
surprise me as much. Though, like knowing hearing you say
that now and haven't hadn't seen that yet, I would
instantly believe that with no fact check the you speak
it to. I mean, speaking of Luca, we might as

(36:24):
well give you the exact numbers. One rebounds, I have
a triple double, thirty five points, thirteen assists, nine rebounds.

Speaker 1 (36:32):
He's an offensive machine man, Like, what can you say?

Speaker 2 (36:35):
So I've still got, obviously by birth, a bunch of
friends that are MAVs fans, and last night the MAVs
lost to the only team that was below them in
the Western Conference standings. The Pelicans were in Dallas, Pelicans
had Pelicans were playing the second night of a back

(36:56):
to back. Zion had been rolled out early in the afternoon,
and then the Pelicans ended up beating the MAVs, and
so a bunch of and it was an earlier game, yeah,
compared to you know, Spurs on the West Coast. So
a bunch of my buddies were at first texting me
about how frustrated they were with the MAVs, and then
by like eleven o'clock, when they were pretty toasty themselves,

(37:19):
were texting about how frustrated they were watching the Spurs
Lakers game because it was the was the ESPN, Yeah,
you know, second of the doubleheader exactly. Yeah, and that
that I mean, I don't disagree with you that the
league obviously is going to I think Lucas gonna start
getting way more calls in LA than he did Dallas.
He's going to start getting away with a lot more

(37:40):
of the yelling and bitching.

Speaker 1 (37:42):
And he had eleven free throws yeah in the first half. Yeah,
that's that's quite that's quite a few, quite a few,
quite a few. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (37:50):
I again, I don't there's a lot to overreact to,
but nothing that really I think. The biggest thing to
me is we're starting to see, you know, not only
only so Hand who you know had double digital he
ended up with. Sixteen, also saw Kelly Olynic's debut. Lindy
Waters was back. Lindy Waters hit a three there in

(38:10):
the second half that extended when they were on like
an eight.

Speaker 1 (38:13):
To oh run. Who's the big white boy Kelly Olyn?

Speaker 2 (38:17):
Ok, Yeah, there was a whenever I had the pube goatee,
there's a there's a pretty good doppel ganger there, especially
from his earlier like when he was at Gonzaga, which
also I love Gonzaga. So it worked like I'm so
happy a Lynnic is on the Spurs. I was so happy,
like the European head, like the one award in high school.

(38:38):
Love it absolutely. Of course I did the soccer players
string yeah, uh no. Seeing now all that being said,
he was a step slow on defense multiple times.

Speaker 1 (38:51):
You could tell the lost a little lost, right.

Speaker 2 (38:55):
And it also it was his first game back, and
not only first game back, but first game him as
a Spur Like first game with all of those guys.

Speaker 1 (39:03):
Did he get a good training camp in with them
or not?

Speaker 2 (39:06):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (39:06):
Yeah, yeah he was.

Speaker 2 (39:07):
He was an off season trade, so he had been
with them for training camp.

Speaker 1 (39:11):
But first, Uh, guy, I didn't know if we got
hurt early or if that was like a later later.

Speaker 2 (39:16):
Oh you know, now that you say that, I can't remember.

Speaker 1 (39:18):
I think he was.

Speaker 2 (39:19):
I think he was active most of training camp. I'd
have to look it up now that you say that,
it doesn't sure didn't. It definitely looked like so Han
was a guy who was familiar playing with the guys
around him compared to Olenx.

Speaker 1 (39:32):
But all of that losers and winners for Spurs. But yeah,
the one that I liked the most that was called
out real early on National TV Stephan Castle Guards the
best player every game. Yeah, and that just shows you
when I sat there, I think that'll be so Ha
season before the season started, or even during the end

(39:53):
of the season, telling you this guy can be the
next Kawhi Leonard. Yeah, but I would say stand statement.

Speaker 2 (40:00):
I would say, let's look at the like Marcus Smart
had seventeen, Luca had thirty five, like the Lakers guards
did quite well last night, I I hear what you're saying.

Speaker 1 (40:11):
Yeah, no, I don't, I know, I know. I'm just
how many of those were free throws that he got
from thirty five? Sure? Twenty plus?

Speaker 2 (40:19):
Oh it wasn't that many, was it.

Speaker 1 (40:20):
I'm gonna say twenty He had eleven in the first
he did miss two in a row, but then they
instantly put it back, so he had some missus. How many? Yeah,
give me the free throws of Luca.

Speaker 2 (40:32):
Let's see if I can find it on the fly.

Speaker 1 (40:37):
But wow, while you find that he had to make
miracle shots, and it was a lot of pick and
rolls to get Castle off of them. And then whenever
he got switched or Champagne was on him, or of
a cell was on him, he took it to the
hole or he stepped back and shot the box.

Speaker 2 (40:56):
Yeah, he only shot me every time, and he only
shot thirty thirty percent. He was nine for twenty seven,
so I mean, yeah, he only made one out of
three phild goals.

Speaker 1 (41:05):
One would say Stephan Castle did his job. Yeah, I
mean again, immediately like your proclamation that he could be
I would just comparing him to Kawhi this early in
the season.

Speaker 2 (41:19):
I know, let's just let's just legs.

Speaker 1 (41:22):
I bet that he's not going to be an All Star.
I think he's I don't think he's an All Star
just because I think there's you're not going once Daron
Fox gets back. I don't think you're gonna see Castle's numbers.
You don't think that's going to open him up even
more if he starts to knocking down that three, which
he's been doing.

Speaker 2 (41:39):
I think he seven seventeen free throws. He was seven
thirteen for seventeen, so almost almost twenty. And that's the
game that he really worked on this season. Is behind
the arc. You don't think that's gonna win be Deannon Fox.
I think it's more like a role kickout if he
doesn't have that open three, or he throws an assist

(42:02):
to Champagne, who was he was money in the beginning.
So Harris Barnes, h you know he got clutched three.
Barnes is just such a steady veterans. So I think
it was last night was Barnes one thousandth, one thousandth
career game in the NBA. Yeah, that's a good career.
I just think the likelihood of Castle jumping Fox in

(42:26):
terms of All Star, I think they all three go
well see, and that's where I say, I don't think
you're gonna get all three. I think Wemby's a lock,
and then Fox is the most likely if he gets
if he's back healthy and playing at the level, which
I bet. I feel like we doesn't end up missing
twenty more games because still no word.

Speaker 1 (42:43):
I feel like we're getting the forty nine ers treatment
from the Spurs staff where they're not telling a severity
of injuries.

Speaker 2 (42:50):
Kind of feels that way, doesn't it, you know. But
then at the same time, though, why would you say
we all because we also got the report that they
only expect expected him in so hand to miss two
or three games.

Speaker 1 (43:00):
And now than five games he's ready hasn't practiced yet.
It is it's hamstring, right, I think that's what I
think it was finger hamstring? Is who just went out
Dylan Harper.

Speaker 2 (43:12):
Now that's calf strain. Yeah, it's a it's a mesh
unit right now.

Speaker 1 (43:18):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (43:18):
And Fox is already ruled out for Friday. It's a
hamstring hamstring, yeah, Which is why I think now because
the year they've said yeah Thom last year they said
he's participating in five on five drills. But I think
they're just taking it, especially when you start five and
one now five and two, you have a little more.

Speaker 1 (43:39):
But we got it when we go for the for
the Emergens Cup.

Speaker 2 (43:43):
So you know the game tomorrow night against Houston, it's
a it's a cup game. Yeah, we're going all out
for that one, wall to wall coverage. We're gonna do
a full watch along live stream. Love that Emirates NBA
Cup love it.

Speaker 1 (44:01):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (44:01):
I mean anytime Spurs and Houston play, anticipate a good game,
but just know it's gonna be.

Speaker 1 (44:09):
Is always a good show. I hope this. I hope
this wakes up Wimby, you know, going against his favorite player.

Speaker 2 (44:17):
I think what's gonna wake him up is when, as
he said last night after the game, you know, he said,
the game's moving faster right now, we're going to catch up.
I'm going you know, I think what's gonna when Wimby
cracks this. If teams continue to do this, these happening,
these early double teams, you know that will be the

(44:39):
kind of next uh, because when you send an early
double team like that on defense, that means for twenty
seconds of the possession. Someone is open, Yeah, someone's wide open.
You just got to move the ball and find him.
And I think that did around the horn exactly. Swing
swing wide open, the corner shot.

Speaker 1 (44:54):
One things I did see the passes were not crisp.
A lot of low passes where it's not right in
your hands to get that rhythm shot going. It was
catching down low and then pulling it from way down
low up like that's always a you know, it's a
low percentage shot, you know, but you have to shoot
it because we're probably running down low on the play clock. There.

(45:18):
See that works.

Speaker 2 (45:20):
That works because it was an honest mistake. Yeah, and
you were just talking about a rooster. Yeah, you got
anything else on spurs because you mentioned Kevin Durant and
I have some fun Kevin Durant audio for you, dude.
That's don't we all, brother, don't we all? Let's do

(45:40):
some X files then, Yes, this day eight fifty on
the time stamp. I'm gonna also start saying those make
sure I say them every time because I can get
I can get AI to read the transfer.

Speaker 1 (45:55):
Yeah, because I figured you're gonna let chat to Patism
take over the show.

Speaker 2 (45:59):
Brother, you don't really how do you think I'm beating
you in picks right now?

Speaker 1 (46:03):
No, I'm kidding.

Speaker 2 (46:04):
I swear that's I swear that is me. Uh no,
x files. So did you catch this at all? The
Rockets played in Memphis earlier this week? I think it
was two nights ago.

Speaker 1 (46:15):
Hm.

Speaker 2 (46:15):
So John Morant obviously we know everything that he's now. Yeah,
obviously looking to potentially move on to different pastures. And
Memphis looks like I mean, they gave him a one
game suspension for the dreaded conduct detrimental to the team.
That's you never want that. Let's tell tell his coach

(46:36):
st f Off pretty much. I think that's what it was.

Speaker 1 (46:38):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (46:39):
Uh so Memphis is, Memphis is burning, Memphis is in shambles.
They're uh, they're lucky the MAVs are so bad, or
Memphis would be more of the uh national punching bag. Yeah,
the boy the Rockets in Memphis with Team Morant Jaw's
dad sitting courtside, Kevin Durant didn't waste the opportunity. Kevin

(47:02):
Durant notorious one of the greatest all time at trash talking.

Speaker 1 (47:06):
He's also good.

Speaker 2 (47:07):
At basketball and the person alone exactly as you can
hear listen closely because you hear Tea and the Memphis
fans because the camera is from their perspective. But you
can hear Kevin Durant. See if you can pick up
what he says here.

Speaker 1 (47:29):
He don't want to be here. Yeah, enjoy your time
in Memphis.

Speaker 2 (47:43):
You ain't gonna be here long. He don't want to
be here.

Speaker 1 (47:46):
I don't know him. Too many other teams that had
put up with this crap.

Speaker 2 (47:50):
So it's interesting because I mean, the kid what pulled
a gun out on the guy mighty pistol whipped a
sixteen year old during a pick up basketball although I
think those charges were draped and dropped, and we we
allow for rehabilitation on this program.

Speaker 1 (48:08):
But I guess it's everybody can get rehabilitated.

Speaker 2 (48:10):
Everybody's pistol whipped somebody every now and then you got
to learn from it and grow up.

Speaker 1 (48:15):
You know, she's got to learn to cook. That's exactly.

Speaker 2 (48:17):
Yeah, it's not every day, is national?

Speaker 1 (48:21):
Damn? Yeah? No, I do.

Speaker 2 (48:24):
I do wonder what kind of team is going to
swoop in because his value has never been lower. But
Memphis also seemingly isn't going to put up with it.
Much longer. There might be a scenario where Memphis just says, look,
we'll take a We'll take a twenty cents on the dollar,
just to be done with the Ja Morant experience. So

(48:45):
I do wonder Ja.

Speaker 1 (48:46):
Morant want to be a role player instead of the star.

Speaker 2 (48:52):
I think it would depend who the star was. I mean,
I think the most likely scenario is someone like Brooklyn
one who's just so lost Charlotte, someone who hasn't been
relevant in a decade, looking to make us because teams
like that are never that's a sneaky one.

Speaker 1 (49:10):
That's always because they got they got a lot of
Tyler Hero He's not a star, but he's a John
John Bam would job Bam and Tyler would be an
interesting in the East. Yeah, I don't.

Speaker 2 (49:24):
I mean, I don't think that puts them in the
and he gets.

Speaker 1 (49:26):
To be in that, you know, the limelight of Miami,
you know.

Speaker 2 (49:29):
Which arguably could mean that career ends and.

Speaker 1 (49:36):
Or you can go you know, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (49:39):
Lante West, Yeah, I do. Man, I hope we don't.

Speaker 1 (49:44):
I hope we don't see another Delante West in my lifetime.
That's one of the that's one of the worst outcome
for sidetracked. Well, now you've got me thinking about that
Saint metal world peace. How about he could be a
metalworld piece.

Speaker 2 (49:59):
Elbowing people turned it around by won some ships with
the Lakers.

Speaker 1 (50:04):
Yeah, I I do. I think I think.

Speaker 2 (50:06):
Jaws moved before this season is too much further along,
might even be by Christmas, might be by the New year.

Speaker 1 (50:14):
Didn't they have Memphis above us? No, they had in
the beginning of the year. I don't know.

Speaker 2 (50:21):
I don't think so, because Memphis traded Desmond Bane to
Orlando who actually he got ejected the other night for
a flagrant foul and a technical all in the same play.
He's Orlando has been a bus so far. There's been
some odd outcomes of games, like the Chicago Bulls are undefeated.

Speaker 1 (50:44):
Yeah, oh yeah, but he's going to be at the Spurs.
I guess we're playing the Bulls.

Speaker 2 (50:48):
On the Oh yeah, coming up? Yeah next week when Monday.

Speaker 1 (50:50):
Yeah, he's going to be there. Gotta let us know, man,
check check in with us on Tuesday. Tell us how
it was. I was about to say, tell me how
many Spurs fans are there?

Speaker 2 (50:58):
Send us some footage. I bet there's a lot. Chicago
major city, top city in America.

Speaker 1 (51:04):
Hit me, hit me some picks on ig Modesto. Wimby
is definitely come.

Speaker 2 (51:09):
On, uh, driving national audiences like that. But yeah, well, uh,
we'll see where te Morant is sitting courtside here in
a couple of months, when Jaw is probably playing for
another team, and then the second one here in the
X files I got for you. We don't talk as
we don't talk nearly as much hockey as I wish
we didn't.

Speaker 1 (51:29):
It's old time hockey. I love the uh.

Speaker 2 (51:33):
I love having sports that I can still just watch
for enjoyment. Like I watch a Stars game and I
know I don't have to have a take or like
have to know you know, the sequence of events in
order so I can talk about them.

Speaker 1 (51:46):
Or you talk about the single game.

Speaker 2 (51:49):
Yeah, well you know I can just once we get
to the playoffs, it's you know, more of the audience
cares a little bit about hockey. But right now I
know it's like me, Royce and and three the other
dudes who were die hard hockey fans.

Speaker 1 (52:03):
But you know hockey girl Bartender that told you about
the she's with you on there. Her team is the Oilers.

Speaker 2 (52:11):
Okay, How funny is this because if you read the
run sheet you would know the video. I know the
video I have for you. The Oilers were in town
in Dallas a couple of nights ago, taking on the Start.
It was Tuesday night. It was the Finnish Mafia when
it was it was ranting in Bobblehead night. And he

(52:35):
scores a goal on his Bobblehead night. Stars end up
winning in a shootout.

Speaker 1 (52:40):
That's why she was mad. And I was like, oh
my Oilers lost. And I was like, but the Stars won,
and yeah, gave me a look, they played each other.
You didn't put that together.

Speaker 2 (52:50):
Well, the one thing that I will you know, I'm
never gonna root for, you know, the Oilers Edmonton. But
when when an all time great player is on a
team that you kind of despise, you still have to
like oddly respect them in a way because you know,
watching them play. Like if I'm watching Edmonton play Florida,

(53:14):
like in the in the Stanley Cup Final, I'm going
to enjoy watching Edmonton play even though I want him
to lose. I hate them, yeah, because they have you know,
a Gretzky like talent, Like he's not Gretzky, but you know,
you know what I'm like, he's the Connor McDavid is
the best of his generation.

Speaker 1 (53:31):
He's the best.

Speaker 2 (53:32):
He sounds like a Scottish midfielder for Celtic or Rangers.
McDavid is so damn good. The video I sent u LG.
It's before the game, during warm up, and it reminds
me of you know when you see a boxer, like

(53:52):
when you think like you've never done any boxing, you've
never been in a gym, and you see the dudes
just work in the bag and you're.

Speaker 1 (53:58):
Like, oh, that looks easy.

Speaker 2 (54:00):
You don't really realize what he's doing, and like how
impressive that is. Watch Connor McDavid warm up.

Speaker 1 (54:06):
Here.

Speaker 2 (54:07):
Look at the way he handles the puck, the way
he's basically doing like dribbling drills, like crossover basketball drills.

Speaker 1 (54:16):
Look at that. Look at that that kid.

Speaker 2 (54:23):
That kid is all, oh my, look at this. So
if you're just listening to the audio version, he's just
taking the stick back and forth over the puck, just
passing it back and forth all the way. He's rolling
his wrist with the stick and just the puck.

Speaker 1 (54:42):
It's like almost like a penalty shot move where he's
sitting there trying the.

Speaker 2 (54:46):
Puck is never leaving his stick, but it's moving.

Speaker 1 (54:49):
Yeah, that's insane. That's insane. That's insane.

Speaker 2 (54:52):
So like even again, I won't that's some tiger woods
bouncing the golf ball. Great, that's exactly what it is.
And when you're on that level of greatness, you make
stuff like that look so incredibly easy.

Speaker 1 (55:07):
Steph Curry dribbling, Yeah, it's.

Speaker 2 (55:10):
I mean, you can't, uh, you cannot. You really should
if you're not watch out.

Speaker 1 (55:15):
That's a thousand hours of doing that. Like what was it? Oh,
since childhood? The old saying to become a master of anything,
you have to put a thousand.

Speaker 2 (55:22):
Malcolm Gladwell's rule, the law of a thousand hours. The
If you're listening to the audio version, I would highly
suggest going to the video version about a hour into
the show right now, because.

Speaker 1 (55:35):
Talk to your AI overlords.

Speaker 2 (55:37):
Yeah, they'll pull it up because that you.

Speaker 1 (55:39):
Don't trust what you see, even if you.

Speaker 2 (55:41):
Don't like cockey, that is incredibly, incredibly impressive to see.
So yeah, I figured X files would be a good way.
We'll shut the door on the X files for now.
It'd be a good way to break break up.

Speaker 1 (55:55):
Some of the Uh did you ever figure out the
theme song today? X files? Yeah? It's bad and is
that correct? L G.

Speaker 2 (56:05):
No, that's correct. He can't play it because.

Speaker 1 (56:10):
He's been watching it. He can say yes or no.

Speaker 2 (56:13):
I think he's probably scrambling ever since the ever since
you started sending him clips too. Now he's got we
doubled the workload. I sent them two things that doubled
the workload. I stand by my statement. Uh no, as story,

(56:36):
I didn't expect us to be doing cow notes tonight
since uh man, since the cows are on by this week,
but market nine o'clock on the dot, nine oh one.
Now the news this morning as I woke up and
and you know, started seeing it everywhere, it was and

(57:00):
you can't you can't put into words how crazy and
unexpected it was when something like this happens, and it's it's.

Speaker 1 (57:07):
A young kid man years old.

Speaker 2 (57:10):
Marshawn neelan second round pick last year out of Western Michigan,
found so dead self inflicted.

Speaker 1 (57:18):
Yeah, So tell me, was he not making the team? Like?
I know that there's other things in life than your job,
which even though it's consuming as like consuming as a
football player's life is during season, that's all you're thinking about.
But was he just lack of lack of performance? Was

(57:42):
you know, it's I don't know his I don't know
his how many playing minutes.

Speaker 2 (57:47):
So the thing you'll remember most recently about him, he's
the guy who we were crediting for not pushing the
ball out of the back of the end zone.

Speaker 1 (57:54):
That was so he became more of a special teams guy.

Speaker 2 (57:58):
Well, I mean no, because I could pull out my
other notebook and he was leading them in snaps amongst
the defensive edge group three weeks ago.

Speaker 1 (58:05):
Dude, Yeah, uh, it's seems like you had a lot
ahead of them. It's hard again.

Speaker 2 (58:12):
It's it's when you're talking about anything like this that
involves mental health, mental illness, mental uh trouble, mental whatever
is going on in the person, the stranger next to you, you
have no idea what's going on in their minds. And
I saw, yeah, I saw multiple people phrase it uh

(58:37):
in a way that I'm going to steal because it
was it was so well said.

Speaker 1 (58:44):
Mental health has no prejudice.

Speaker 2 (58:50):
Mental health has no boundaries that it can't invade. Mental
health has no you know, no one is immune to depression.

Speaker 1 (59:03):
It affects everybody exactly, and there's that's why there's levels
to it where it's you know, just yesterday, I'm trying
to get I'm trying to get some like I found
out I had nerve damage in my back and it's
not a hernia and they had to do an evaluation
on me. So I'm thinking they're just gonna be talking

(59:23):
about my pain level. But a lot of it was
psyche valuation, you know, to be like do you ever
feel feelings of dread, hopelessness, all this stuff? Yeah, and
you know you have to go through that. And I'm like, yes,
but in no way am I to the point.

Speaker 2 (59:39):
Of yeah, just a normal harm, a normal amount of dress,
you know, yes, which what does that even mean?

Speaker 1 (59:45):
But you know, how do you measure that? And do I?
Like I have, I've worked with anxiety my whole life.
Since I was fourteen. I've had like crazy symptoms of stress.
I had broken child home. Everybody has their story, but
like when I had shingles at ten years old, I
had a kidney stone at twelve, I had an ulcer
at fourteen. It was I was a stressed out little kid,

(01:00:06):
you know, going through a lot of crap, and they're like,
I was dealing with anxiety, a lot of anxiety written issues,
and I've been on anti depressiont antidepressants. There's levels to
this where it's like a manic depressant to a moderate
depressant just to be feeling a little depressed. Where medication
varies so much, and the stigma behind taking it now

(01:00:30):
is under so much more attack than it ever has been.

Speaker 2 (01:00:34):
It feels like we swing back both ways, where it's
it's almost.

Speaker 1 (01:00:38):
Either we over prescribe or we say let's do it
like man up, be a man, do it holistically or something,
go work out, and like our brains are wired differently,
and it's you really, I am a champion on therapy.
I go to talk to a therapist once every other week.
Yeah I could, and I just it's mostly mostly good.

(01:01:00):
Sometimes I have some serious stuff I need to talk.
I mean, I have a twenty year old kid.

Speaker 2 (01:01:05):
Is healthy for the most healthy person, Like, it's not
the stigmas an oil change exactly.

Speaker 1 (01:01:11):
We all need. Your car needs an oil change, refresh.
Everybody needs an oil change, and everybody needs to be
heard and feel like, hey, we're not alone, dude, you know, see, I.

Speaker 2 (01:01:25):
Wonder what else we're going because we're going to get
more information. I mean, I was checking the most trusted
news source in America TMZ all day to see because
you know, they were the first as normally they had
the dispatch calls that the police were making with his

(01:01:47):
girlfriend and you know some of the other family. You know,
the girlfriend was saying he had texted her and his family.
First of all, he lost his mother last year, oh wow,
and was texting other family members and the girlfriend goodbye

(01:02:07):
basically you know that like it's you know, i'm I'm
I'm out, I'm I'm I'm ending it. And at that
point she contacted his agent, who contacted the NFL, who
got in touch with a Plano PD where his residence
is up there in DFW. But at the same time,

(01:02:30):
there was you know, he at some point got into
a chase with troopers with DPS and evaded them. But
then when he got to Frisco, Frisco PD had been
alerted and were assisting in the search. Then they find

(01:02:50):
the his vehicle crashed and then ended up finding him.
TMZ was reporting in a in a like a porta
potty basically, you know, the portable toilet that he probably
you know, must have found as he was uh, you know,
leaving fleeing from the from the crash scene. So it's

(01:03:10):
it feels like, Yeah, and and the girlfriend and family
you know, said he you know, he had struggled with
like the mental health was not a new thing, like
struggling with his mental health, especially like I said on
on the you know, back of losing his mother last year.

Speaker 1 (01:03:30):
And it's that that kills me to here because I
did I did not know any of the details that
you just told me. And I am like I backed
the police, you know the time. Sure, you know it's
fair to always question those in authority, always question, but
they do not do well with mental health. Not it's

(01:03:55):
not patients, but situations. Yeah, and when you're chasing somebody
that's on ment health, don't chase him.

Speaker 2 (01:04:02):
So I don't think the truth, that's what I don't
the timing of it. And I might be wrong, it
might be updated. I don't think the troopers were made aware.

Speaker 1 (01:04:11):
I think he had a mental health it was a
mental health crisis that it was right.

Speaker 2 (01:04:14):
I think the troopers had busted him for an actual
traffic violation. Yeah, and then he some some reports were
saying accelerate, you know, got up to like one hundred
and forty hundred and fifty miles an hour. He doesn't
care running from the State troopers, which is you would
kind of probably have to to be able to get
away from NBS officer.

Speaker 1 (01:04:35):
And at that point with all like there.

Speaker 2 (01:04:37):
But I think the Frisco and Plane OPD were the
ones that knew what was going on.

Speaker 1 (01:04:42):
So then when they got in why in San France.

Speaker 2 (01:04:47):
No no, no, no, no, it's DFW said he was no
Frisco up there. Yeah the suburb.

Speaker 1 (01:04:54):
Yeah yeah yeah, yeah yeah yeah. So oh man, that's
just to me that that's oversight, that is not communicating.
That's just you can see it. Even when Cops was
on TV, the people were just like just kill me.
They think. Once you get arrested, that's you're you're dealing

(01:05:14):
with people's worst day of their lives, you know, whenever
you're dealing with the cops, and a cop cannot make
it easy. He can, he can very well make the
situation better, but if he chooses not to, and a
lot of them are out there that she is not
to because a the burned out.

Speaker 2 (01:05:30):
You know, or they're told their whole life to just
man up. I don't care what you're dealing with.

Speaker 1 (01:05:35):
And the man they're having problems and stuff, and there's
a lot of this stuff. And like I'm a big
advocate for police, judicial law, judge reform across the board.
There is no one simple answer to this. And it's
not a defunding the police crap, you know, but there
needs to be departments that know how to handle these

(01:05:56):
situations better. YEA more chasing them down, making him feel hopeless,
making him feel I just ruined everything my life away.
This is it. I want to kill myself. That's not
the answer.

Speaker 2 (01:06:10):
See That's where I wonder when it gets to as
we get more details about it, I you know, as
we hear what started the initial chase, you know, I
think that will.

Speaker 1 (01:06:24):
Go along in the time frame of the messages, so
where it's like, did he send the messages from the
porter potty or did he send the message the messages
were before the message that should have been the very
first flag, like that should be a so I think
on a if.

Speaker 2 (01:06:38):
I remember correctly, the chase was initiated at ten thirty nine,
and then the girlfriend started alerting the agent and in
turn the agent and the league alerting authorities. I think
that was at like an hour later. I think that
was at like eleven forty.

Speaker 1 (01:06:59):
So it does to chase first, and then.

Speaker 2 (01:07:02):
I kind of think again, like we're all piecing it together,
just you know, from what I was.

Speaker 1 (01:07:06):
Reading earlier, wait to get all the facts.

Speaker 2 (01:07:08):
Yeah, because at the end of the day, a twenty
four year old kid is dead.

Speaker 1 (01:07:11):
Ye like that that's the who had everything. I mean,
he made made a great play, dude, like this last week.

Speaker 2 (01:07:17):
First career touchdown, first touchdown in the NFL.

Speaker 1 (01:07:19):
Yeah, a couple of days ago, and everything to look
forward to. Man, if you can think back when you
were twenty four and we thought the way the world
was on me, for me to get back there and
be like, you have it all in front of you, brother,
you know that's you know, that's you've got the you've
got the you know, million plus dollar guaranteed contract for

(01:07:42):
millioney comes over, dude, money comes with problem.

Speaker 2 (01:07:45):
My whole point, the mental Like mental health does not
care about your social status, your you know, affluent or
poverty surroundings. It doesn't care about your race, your gender.
It doesn't care. I'll tell you one thing. Nationality, it's
it's it supersedes all that. And yes, the story this

(01:08:08):
happens twenty four year olds across this country do what
he did every day, every hour, and the fact that
he's a cowboy obviously makes it the national story that
it is. But the national story is not an NFL
player fell victim to his own mental challenges. The story

(01:08:32):
is this is another example of mental health being a massive,
massive illness in our society.

Speaker 1 (01:08:42):
And I mean, I could not imagine growing up with
social media. I cannot imagine growing up with pictures every
phone like like like I still to this day can't
stand someone taking a picture of me.

Speaker 2 (01:08:55):
So it's twenty four that yeah, dude, he was he
was born in damn near of the year I graduated
high school. Yeah, I was just I'm thinking about it
now that the one man, I don't think of myself.

Speaker 1 (01:09:05):
As an old Yeah. Yeah, So it's like, helly, he
grew up around this, especially being he probably was a
star stud athlete in high school, defensive lineman. You know,
obviously I was six foot three. But when I was
coming into high school, what do you think the coaches
were doing football? They were on ass, you know, to

(01:09:27):
get in football, but I love baseball. I was a catcher,
you know, and they wouldn't let me play the sport.
They wouldn't let me play my position because again now, yeah,
they held it against me and now now it's all
about football. And I had them telling me to do
it and I was having problems at home.

Speaker 2 (01:09:47):
You can have a great life, yeah I was.

Speaker 1 (01:09:49):
But they didn't do it nicely. They didn't sit there
and sit me in the office. They were They would
just nag me almost be like, man, you're just such
a waste of space and blah blah blah. And I'm like,
go f off, dude, you know, Like, and I'm having
problems at home. My mental head game wasn't there. Like
I said, I was a stressed out little kid and
it was just that that's what brought me to therapy.

(01:10:11):
Like during that time as a freshman, I will know,
having to deal with coaches just ragging on me. They
failed me in health, they failed me in health. We
watched movies.

Speaker 2 (01:10:23):
Yeah, they picked on me, that's sure.

Speaker 1 (01:10:25):
And I'm like, he's grown. Men are picking on me.
And it's not like I didn't stand up for myself.

Speaker 2 (01:10:30):
But it was just like what what what does that
even look like in that scenario standing up for yourself
as a freshman, Right, That's it, and then that only
gets you deeper deep in the you know, in the
s pile. I I'll end it with this before we
get into the main Suggie. The when I was when

(01:10:53):
I was growing up, you know, obviously very small town,
everybody knew everybody, type of environment. And there was a
family that moved in when we were all I think
I was in seventh grade and he was in fifth grade,

(01:11:15):
two years younger than me, that lived in our neighborhood.
And so you know, all you know, pick up basketball
in the driveway. He was there, you know, all the
neighborhood kids coming over, hanging out. Yeah, and then you
know I saw him every day, knew him for you know,

(01:11:38):
the first three years they lived there. And then when
I was a sophomore in high school and he was
an eighth grader, he uh, he took his own life,
and you know right there in the house, you know,
three houses down from the house I was raised in.

Speaker 1 (01:11:56):
And it now in a small town, that's yeah, impactful,
and you.

Speaker 2 (01:12:00):
Know, it always it always from that, you know, I
remember thinking back of you know, thinking, you see, I
saw him every day, like we played basketball every day.
Never realized anything, you know, never realized that there was
this feeling of being left out because he didn't grow

(01:12:22):
up with us since kindergarten like everyone else in the
stupid small town did, and and didn't uh you know,
realize how isolated and uh you know, alone he felt
back then. And I would end this by saying, no
matter how well you know somebody, no matter how well

(01:12:46):
you think they're doing, that shouldn't stop you from asking.

Speaker 1 (01:12:51):
That should never be.

Speaker 2 (01:12:53):
Yeah, like, be fucking be nice, man, Just be nice,
Like it really is that simple.

Speaker 1 (01:13:01):
It takes more energy to be an ass it is
to be nice and bomb. Just like cancer, everybody knows
someone who died from cancer. This has become such a
calmon occurrence. Everybody's known somebody that's died from suicide, right,
and that and that's a sad thing to know. I know,

(01:13:23):
personal friends, I remember getting phone calls eight am in
the morning and it's a friend of mine. I'm like, oh, well,
we're going well we're going on a river trip or something,
and it's like, hey, I just need to tell you
that so and so killed themselves and I'm sitting there bawling,
and I'm just like, why he took me home three

(01:13:44):
weeks ago. I knew he was having trouble when I
told him. I was like, dude, we've been down. He
had his own business, and I'm like, we've all been down,
but we know how to start again. I was like,
you got us. We got a huge friend group from
high school. I mean, I'm talking like the homies support.
We have Homie Holiday, where like thirty to forty of
us used to show up up over his house, you know.

(01:14:08):
And and if any of my friends there, they know
exactly who I'm talking about. I'm not going to say
his name on here, but like I still remember that call,
and I still remember the day, and I still remember
his birthday. I still remember everything. And that is I
am not alone, because I think everybody has a friend
connection to this. This is how bad it's become.

Speaker 2 (01:14:29):
And that's why I would always I last thing the
National Hotlines nine to nine eight. You've if you if
you don't have that good friend group, if you don't
have all of your small town buddies to talk to,
there's always someone to talk to.

Speaker 1 (01:14:50):
Nine nine eight. You're never alone.

Speaker 2 (01:14:53):
And for those that think you're fine and you are, congratulations,
be there for everyone else that's going through, just be nice.

Speaker 1 (01:15:01):
You just you have no idea. It helps, it helps tremendously.
Be nice.

Speaker 2 (01:15:06):
Yes, let's make our picks. Let's there's no easy transition.

Speaker 1 (01:15:13):
Into the main Suggie, but it is nine to twenty,
so the AI overlords can get my main SUGGI we
did pass probably probably.

Speaker 2 (01:15:22):
Oh, I meant, I forgot to mention that when we
talked spurs. That's right, there's the there's the see. This
is why I did X files before. Yeah, and damn it,
I should have planned something for after, but that might
have been in bad taste to jump uh into uh like,
let's rink all the let's rank the strip clubs in
San Antonio from top to bottom.

Speaker 1 (01:15:43):
Go get started, Sugars. Yeah, Palace, No, that's not open anymore.

Speaker 2 (01:15:49):
I was about to say I think that one. I'm
I'm I'm vaguely there is a tinge of me that
wants to just become full strip club guy.

Speaker 1 (01:16:02):
Just go. It's very freeing, you know, you can do whatever.
That's why it look like I've been stripped instead of four.
It's expensive it is.

Speaker 2 (01:16:10):
I don't have kids. I got a lot of expendable
income these days. Look, I I already feel like a
dirt bag inside, just freeing, liberate, liberate your inner dirt bag.
Become happy hour strip club guy. Now let's do the main. Second,
let's get into our picks. Cowboys on by as I said, so,
we won't pick Cowboys game. Niners are playing and are

(01:16:34):
arguably the best game on the schedule for Sunday as well. Game,
huge game for y'all.

Speaker 1 (01:16:40):
And guess who we don't have, Pearsaw. This is why,
this is why I said the Spurs are pulling the Niners. Pearsaw, Ricky,
it's not practicing. He's not going to play, and it
was just a knee injury party prety limited practice. Expected
to play, okay, but they did that last week on
this Mac Jones, that's right, and Mac Jones, but it

(01:17:00):
was he if he keeps like it's all up till tomorrow,
if he practices again, if he doesn't, his toe flare
is up. Mac Jones with his bust and knees are
going back out there one more time.

Speaker 2 (01:17:11):
That's also Mac Jones, who has only lost one game,
one game, two games, two games this year.

Speaker 1 (01:17:17):
Oh yeah, because.

Speaker 2 (01:17:17):
Party hasn't lost one, party lost one. Oh yeah, and
y'all are on no, you'll only have we have three?
Have three now, Oh that's right? Okay, Oh Rams only
half two? Yeah, is that right? Yeah, but they haven't played.
They've had to buy week. I wrote it down wrong here. Yeah,
Rams six and two nine Ers six and three. So
I have to flip what I have. Yeah, so Rams
traveling to the Niners. But Rams four and a half

(01:17:41):
point favorites. Yeah, I mean surprise surprise on the road,
four and a half point favorites.

Speaker 1 (01:17:48):
They played better in our house, and they played than
they play it there. Oh is that true? Oh, it's facts.

Speaker 2 (01:17:53):
I didn't realize they were such a good road team
that y'all just play.

Speaker 1 (01:17:57):
I think they get so pissed because because everyone and
that's why we like take over their house. But you know,
they got Pooka's plane. Davante Adams is becoming that that guy,
he's becoming him. Uh, they are, they're healthy. Kyrine Williams
is still doing it, Blake Kworm's getting more touches. Uh.

(01:18:22):
Stafford doesn't look like the back's bothering him. Yeah, he
seems to be and we might get we might get
huff back on the d O, but we lost Michael
Williams with an a C L and Death Life Stadium.

Speaker 2 (01:18:35):
Did the Rams make any trades? They didn't do anything right.

Speaker 1 (01:18:38):
They didn't really need to.

Speaker 2 (01:18:39):
Yeah I didn't. I didn't remember though.

Speaker 1 (01:18:42):
No, they're just they have the pieces. Uh yeah, So.

Speaker 2 (01:18:46):
Four and a half points though, is a lot that
that's a that's going to be a hard one to pick.

Speaker 1 (01:18:52):
Yeah, it's like, I I still want the points. Yeah,
Like you're telling them you're gonna give me the niners
plus plus more than goal. Yeah, I'm still gonna be like.

Speaker 2 (01:19:04):
So you want to you want to hear some of
the other games before we lock it?

Speaker 1 (01:19:07):
Yeah, I'm not like before we lock in the picks,
but like, come on, man, I believe if I So
it's literally it's it's seven and a half. If you
give the three points for the home team advantage, they're
giving them three points plus another four and a half.
They think this is going to be a blowout.

Speaker 2 (01:19:28):
No, no, no, because y'all are home, so you're getting three
so it should be.

Speaker 1 (01:19:32):
So ill get my bad. I get what you're saying now. Yeah,
so they're actually seven and a half point dogs.

Speaker 2 (01:19:37):
So every time we have taken one of us has
taken the Niners as underdogs, they've lost.

Speaker 1 (01:19:45):
Except for that one Thursday Night game where they were
the eight and a half point.

Speaker 2 (01:19:50):
We were just like what why what money? And we
made money big time. Yeah, that's the only time we've
taken them as under Yeah, I'm just flipping through them
all every time we've every time we've picked them as underdogs,
they have they have not covered and lost that game.

Speaker 1 (01:20:09):
I think we have a horrible Monday Night game this week, right, Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:20:12):
Uh no, no, no, it's a it's on the list.
Monday Night Eagles at Packers. The battle of number one
and number two is next week. I was looking at Yeah,
it's next week. It's next week.

Speaker 1 (01:20:26):
It's like Charge, like the Raiders, it's Raiders in Carolina
or something even worse.

Speaker 2 (01:20:33):
Bubba a team, a team that lost to Carolina but
beat the Jets. It's your Dallas Cowboys. Yeah, I know,
get ready for absolute. I thought that third Fest again.
Next week, You're you're.

Speaker 1 (01:20:53):
Gonna come off a bye all healthy and.

Speaker 2 (01:20:55):
And Marvin over shown Shavan ravel fixing the defense. Kaylin
Arson can I interest you in more playing time so much. Yeah,
Packers Eagle or Eagles at Packers Monday Night football. As
you said, Packers one and a half point favorites in
that game. The other games of the week the Pats

(01:21:16):
traveling to Tampa Bay, Patriots at Buccaneers.

Speaker 1 (01:21:21):
That's gonna be a good one.

Speaker 2 (01:21:22):
That's Buccaneers two and a half point favorites there, Bucks
minus two and a half. And then the only other
game that's actually good, which I see.

Speaker 1 (01:21:31):
A couple, you know, ones like the Ravens Vikings j
are they like, you know, both defenses are stellar right now.

Speaker 2 (01:21:40):
The other one I had written down was Steelers at Chargers. Yeah,
both three loss teams, Steelers, Chargers and that Sunday Night football,
Chargers two and a half point favorites there.

Speaker 1 (01:21:52):
I'm also kind of eager to see the just I
guess maybe just because division purposes, the Cardinals vs. Seahawks,
you know what, what's their Just to see what Jacoby
bur said the line on this one, So that one
right now, the spread is offline on that one. Yeah,
why is it's offline? Uh da? Kobe got named the starter?

(01:22:15):
Come on now, Yeah, I would assume it's cod came
out Kyler's busy. Yeah, that's call of duty for all you.
Kyler needs to switch to battlefield anyway.

Speaker 2 (01:22:30):
Uh that Ravens Vikings game. I could you could talk
me into that being our our fifth game to pick,
or we could pick a random number to go with.

Speaker 1 (01:22:39):
The Niners, Pats Bucks, Uh, Ravens Bikes, Steelers charge.

Speaker 2 (01:22:46):
I think we need to do because that those areas
two winning teams going up against each other.

Speaker 1 (01:22:51):
Those are the only YEA four game no randoms.

Speaker 2 (01:22:54):
I want those games, those five, So add Ravens Vikings in.

Speaker 1 (01:22:58):
Yeah, let me right that because I think I think
we can. Uh. I think we're gonna have a non concesit.

Speaker 2 (01:23:05):
Oh, I see what you're doing now, I see, I
see what I'm.

Speaker 1 (01:23:09):
Trying to get. I'm trying to get that point? Baby?
Why am I always one point?

Speaker 2 (01:23:13):
I see what is happening now that makes more sense.
That's fine, that's fine.

Speaker 1 (01:23:19):
It's still uh.

Speaker 2 (01:23:19):
I still lead eighteen seventeen overall, and we might need
to come up.

Speaker 1 (01:23:23):
Thanks for building the cup, Greg, that was a long
Niner minute.

Speaker 2 (01:23:26):
Do we get another super chest?

Speaker 1 (01:23:27):
So let's talk about the Niners some more. I'm gonna
get you, Greg, dude, I love. I was, Uh, you'll
appreciate this.

Speaker 2 (01:23:34):
I was talking to my buddy on Sunday, when you know,
Cowboys didn't play, so I was able to just watch
football with friends and my buddy immediately one of the
first things he said, he goes, so, your boy cat,
he's a Yankee fan, Oh yeah, and a Niner.

Speaker 1 (01:23:56):
Fan West Coast, East coast, but he lived right in
the middle. I'd like to be called American. Yeah, well,
you know what I'm saying, I'm America.

Speaker 2 (01:24:06):
You represent every time zone in this god forsaken.

Speaker 1 (01:24:10):
And in Oklahoma State and Oklahoma team that is not
the gay Lord Stadium dumpster fire.

Speaker 2 (01:24:15):
Yeah, you support the Pokes. The Pokes over Gaylord. All right,
So you want to start with your Niners, rams at Niners.
Let's let's get them locked in on the sheet. And
I will also say, both of us, we've picked thirty
five games so far this year. The fact that I'm

(01:24:37):
one game over it's good. And the fact that you're
one game under, like both of us are really close to.

Speaker 1 (01:24:46):
Making and we haven't had the same picksh No, they've
been quite different, quite different. Like we always have like
three almost every week they've been.

Speaker 2 (01:24:54):
We're almost to the point of having actual profitable picks
on here there they're you're Niners, which means you go first.

Speaker 1 (01:25:04):
Oh buddy, if I don't have it, I didn't save it.
But if you saw the injury list at practice, the
Niners was like about the yay big and then the
Rams was about yay big. That's what time, that's what
part of the season we're into, body, But the Niners

(01:25:28):
are still big brother, going give me the points, give
me the Niners shut down corner Lenori either is gonna
take away Adams or Pookah. One of them aren't gonna eat.

Speaker 2 (01:25:43):
Okay, So I just pulled up the full injury report.
Ye god, you weren't kidding.

Speaker 1 (01:25:50):
How many's on there? Like thirteen d A lot.

Speaker 2 (01:25:53):
I'm scrolling down now to get to where the Rams are,
Like that is a lot to Oh and the Rams
have three guys yeah yeah, no, okay, no, the Rams
have three guys already on injured reserve. They only have
one player that's on the injury report. Yeah, former Longhorn

(01:26:13):
Jordan Whittington questionable US questionable, Yeah, limited practice they're one player?
Yeah cool, Yeah, I didn't realize it.

Speaker 1 (01:26:24):
Was that.

Speaker 2 (01:26:24):
Oh my god, Yeah, some of these teams are not.

Speaker 1 (01:26:27):
Some the Niners are the most injured team.

Speaker 2 (01:26:30):
So you have these are your rams? Have one questionable
let's all count together, friends, one, two, three, four, five, six, seven, eight,
And I scrolled down nine. You have nine questionable, two
that are already ruled out but aren't on IR yet,

(01:26:52):
and then one, two, three, ten on injured reserve. Y'all's
injury report is insane. That is I knew you've been
You know, I haven't had much Southern Thiefs.

Speaker 1 (01:27:03):
And we're six and three and three and zero in
the division.

Speaker 2 (01:27:06):
And you're going up against the division.

Speaker 1 (01:27:08):
The division rivals now in Seahawks, they ain't They ain't
him on that ride.

Speaker 2 (01:27:13):
So are you locking it in? Locking Niners with the
point I got?

Speaker 1 (01:27:17):
I bought this new fresh you know, cappy cap.

Speaker 2 (01:27:22):
Plus four and a half locked in?

Speaker 1 (01:27:27):
You're gonna disagree you're locking in? Come on.

Speaker 2 (01:27:32):
I was leaning toward taking the points with you until
I just saw.

Speaker 1 (01:27:38):
The But you gotta understand that injury report has been
like that all year.

Speaker 2 (01:27:43):
Also, historically, every time I've taken the Niners with the points,
I've lost.

Speaker 1 (01:27:52):
Oh no, you but not against the Rams when it
was eight and a half.

Speaker 2 (01:27:56):
That one, Yeah, the one where it was ridiculous. That
was that should That was a bad line, Say say
the Rams.

Speaker 1 (01:28:04):
How can I give me motivated?

Speaker 2 (01:28:06):
How can I pick against a kid that I set
in a hot tub with in Highland Park, Texas when
my high school basketball comes?

Speaker 1 (01:28:15):
Why are we talking about a man's soup action?

Speaker 2 (01:28:18):
Because he's a stud NFL quarterback and I gotta get
my skins on the wall to let you know I've
done cool stuff and like, give me the Rams, cool
stuff led by Highland Park Zone. Did you know him
and Klayton Kershaw went to the same high school?

Speaker 1 (01:28:34):
Oh? Really?

Speaker 2 (01:28:35):
They say it everyfing broadcast one of them is on.
It's it's a recurring joke. I was like, oh, I
didn't know. I didn't know they went to the same
high school. Give me the Rams to cover four and
a half on the road against the division arrival forty
nine ers for I know the picks are off. One
of these weeks, we're gonna be all split and it's

(01:28:57):
gonna flip the standings one way or another. Which one
do you want to do next? Go with the with
the twelve o'clock game, Pat's bucks.

Speaker 1 (01:29:06):
Yep, the Pats are rolling. They are, But Booty was
out in that game. He got he got knocked out.
He's limited. I don't know if he's playing. It looks
like Ramonde Stevenson is not going to play, so they're
gonna lean on Henderson again, which is a I think

(01:29:27):
it's stellar move. He was He's the brook that was
supposed to be taking this spotlight. D Yeah, Drake May
is playing out of his mind. Him and Stephan Diggs
are clicking. Godwin's questionable.

Speaker 2 (01:29:43):
What looks like It looks like Godwin, Bucky Irvin, and
Hassan Reddick are both out, are going to be out
for Tampa.

Speaker 1 (01:29:53):
Okay, Mike Evan's already out. Yeah, so I know the
Pats are the favorite. Now, Oh, give me the pass
Tampa Bay. Do you want to hear it?

Speaker 2 (01:30:04):
Let me make sure I wrote it down correct. Tampa
Bay minus two and a half. Oh, Tampa Bay minus
half the.

Speaker 1 (01:30:12):
Points, Baby your t and p baby more dogs pass
the points plus two and a half.

Speaker 2 (01:30:22):
Man, I this is gonna be a pivotal week.

Speaker 1 (01:30:27):
Like you're leaning Tampa. But because you don't want me
to just go just burn you out of the Woods.

Speaker 2 (01:30:31):
How can I pick against a quarterback from the high
school football powerhouse here in Texas right up the road
Lake Travis, who's number two in state in six A. Again,
they are back on their throne of dominating Central Texas
high school football. And what better ambassador of that program

(01:30:56):
than Baker. I saw you sent me the clip of
Baker was open.

Speaker 1 (01:31:00):
You had that.

Speaker 2 (01:31:00):
I was like, send that to LG. I thought we
had shown that already. That's you hadn't seen that, I
should say so. It's Baker was on Manning cast and
they Manning asked him how he got so good at scrambling,
and Baker said, well, I I you know, I'm I'm decent,
but as one time I tried scrambling in Ohio and

(01:31:20):
it didn't go very well.

Speaker 1 (01:31:23):
Well there's a oh.

Speaker 2 (01:31:24):
Yeah, it might have been Arkansas, Arkansas, right Ohio, because
it was when he was at ou Uh. He tried
to evade arrest, was running from the officers and and
right into a like flower bed, a raised flowerbed.

Speaker 1 (01:31:44):
It looked like a shot.

Speaker 2 (01:31:46):
And if he can go through that and still become
a successful NFL quarterback, I've got to take him. Give
me bucks minus two and a half. I still I
don't trust the Pats team yet.

Speaker 1 (01:32:03):
You don't there's seven and two, dude.

Speaker 2 (01:32:06):
I said that about the Colts last week. I was right,
Steelers beat them. I think the Buccaneers. I think the
Buccaneers are the more playoff ready, playoff proven, big.

Speaker 1 (01:32:16):
Game mentality team. And and that's where that's where I
lean with this. Their their playoff proven with Godwin and
Mike Evans on the field.

Speaker 2 (01:32:26):
Minor details, very minor, very minor.

Speaker 1 (01:32:30):
Uh with with with the what are they going to scheme?

Speaker 2 (01:32:33):
That?

Speaker 1 (01:32:34):
All they got his scheme is for Ebuka and like
what leave Kate on and open?

Speaker 2 (01:32:39):
The only thing harder than guarding him is pronouncing him.
If you remember the Gronk clip, you nailed that. You
just did it fast, props. Uh, what do you want
to do? You want to Let's go Eagles Packers next?
Or no, let's do him in order like you were saying,
so we can stick with so we're going to do
I think Raven's vikings Yeah, Raven's vikings As will be

(01:33:01):
our next one. Ravens minus four and a half Vegas.
Vegas still has the Ravens to have the third best
Super Bowl odds no fourth best Super Bowl odds in
the af.

Speaker 1 (01:33:12):
C almost went out. They only have like this one
game buffer. Yeah, but I mean when.

Speaker 2 (01:33:17):
Three and five Ravens. But here's the if.

Speaker 1 (01:33:19):
They might have just knocked out Gino.

Speaker 2 (01:33:21):
If the Ravens beat uh, if the Ravens beat the Vikings,
the Ravens and the Vikings will have the exact same record.

Speaker 1 (01:33:28):
They'll both be four and five. Look at this, how
do you? How do you call this leg? Not roughly?
I know he's a runner, but I'm gonna put all
my weight on you. Wow, that's gotta be a penalty. Yeah,
that's gotta be unnecessary roughness right there. We're getting going
down football anyway. I'm not gonna be distracted by Geno
Smith playing. That hasn't happened since he was at West
Virginia and it won't happen again. Oh, we got what

(01:33:53):
Ravens at Minnesota, J Ravens on the road, four and
a half point five? We got j to the fourth
power justin and jj mmm mm hmmmmmm. How can I
go against should have been the three time MVP winner

(01:34:16):
minus four and a half.

Speaker 2 (01:34:17):
I know, I don't I again, Vegas, Vegas always knows
what they're doing until they don't. But you're telling me
you gotta pick first this one. Okay, I will take this.
You're telling me on the road. The Ravens are four
and a half point favorites against the team that we
just saw beat division leading Detroit Lions. Yeah, I don't

(01:34:42):
get that.

Speaker 1 (01:34:43):
I don't. Well, I know one thing is the Ravens
d is getting healthy. Rokwan Smith is back. Yeah. I
think they got one of their safeties back in a
corner is coming back this game.

Speaker 2 (01:34:56):
So I don't like the idea of picking nothing but favorites.

Speaker 1 (01:35:00):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:35:00):
And it feels like looking at the rest of the
docket of what we're picking, Yeah, it feels like the
opportunity to take the Vikings plus four and a half
at home. Yeah, I gotta go Vikings. Give me the
dogs in this one.

Speaker 1 (01:35:16):
Vikes. That's what I was leaning.

Speaker 2 (01:35:18):
That's what I was Vikes plus four and a half
in honor of Mari.

Speaker 1 (01:35:23):
Good old Mari Voscaz, huge Vikings fan, huge Vikings. Last
week's score with the Ravens last week.

Speaker 2 (01:35:37):
They were weren't they on? No?

Speaker 1 (01:35:38):
They were their Thursday night game. Oh that's twenty eight
to six on the Dolphins.

Speaker 2 (01:35:42):
That doesn't count for anything.

Speaker 1 (01:35:44):
Slapping a redhead doesn't mean anything.

Speaker 2 (01:35:50):
I hadn't heard that one in a while. Oh man,
that was a genuine chuckle there. The week before was by.

Speaker 1 (01:36:00):
Dude. Yeah, I gotta go Vikings on this one. That's craziness.
That defense is, That defense is top five defense, right.

Speaker 2 (01:36:06):
And if JJ is actually going to.

Speaker 1 (01:36:08):
See the Jones even though they rode with him and
I'm I think they should be rolling with Jordan Mason Moore,
but both of them and JJ coming off a stellar game,
he's gonna have high confidence and some momentum.

Speaker 2 (01:36:26):
Yeah, I gotta go Vikings, which means the Ravens will
probably win by thirty. But buddy, and then in chronological order,
let's jump to all we have left. I love picking
the Sunday Night and the Monday night games. Yeah, as
long as they're decent. Yeah, And that's all we have left.

Speaker 1 (01:36:43):
And we're gonna pick the Monday Night games from the
next week, definitely.

Speaker 2 (01:36:47):
Yeah, we'll be picking that one. We have Steelers at Chargers,
Chargers two and a half point favorites.

Speaker 1 (01:36:56):
Chargers in La. Herbert's been slanging. Yeah, Herbert's been slaying.

Speaker 2 (01:37:04):
Both of them. Are only three loss teams. Steelers won
less game five and three Chargers six.

Speaker 1 (01:37:09):
The time. Last time I went against the Steelers, I
got burned. And yeah, I don't think Aron.

Speaker 2 (01:37:16):
I mean, I believe that was also Steelers at home though,
when they beat the Colts.

Speaker 1 (01:37:20):
Right. Yeah, there's a little bit more ayahuasca in California.
That's true.

Speaker 2 (01:37:24):
That is, you can actually get it from a corporate
manufacturer's closer to Mexico.

Speaker 1 (01:37:30):
Yeah. So you know, Aaron Rodgers might be distracted, but
he is a California kid na. I still gotta go
with herbs. Give me, give me the Chargers. Chargers. Yea.

Speaker 2 (01:37:46):
I picked the Steelers last week against the Colts, and
I got away with it because I keep telling you
the Colts are fraudulent in comparison to the rest of
the The Colts are not the Bills or the Chiefs.
That's all I mean by that. They're fraudulent contenders.

Speaker 1 (01:38:04):
Yeah, the record, the record is fraudulent.

Speaker 2 (01:38:07):
So you're taking Chargers minus two and a half. The
Chargers are possibly I think they're another team that I've said.
I don't know what to make of them. I don't
know what they are. I don't know what they They.

Speaker 1 (01:38:25):
Got a hot start, they got humbled, and now they're
clicking again.

Speaker 2 (01:38:29):
They've dropped some weird games. Sunday night at home.

Speaker 1 (01:38:33):
With the emergence of God's good good slin whatever his name,
the tight end, the tight end, Johnston Quinton coming back,
Ladi Mcconkeye's just due for a breakout game. There's too
many weapons in the passing game. And Money Vedell, he's

(01:38:58):
good pass catcher.

Speaker 2 (01:39:01):
Yeah, you're not gonna like this pick. I think I
have to agree with you. I can't ride the Steelers
back to back weeks. I think the Steelers at home
are a really tough team to play against in that stadium,
with that defense. I think the Chargers at home are
a really good, better team, tough to play against because

(01:39:23):
of the.

Speaker 1 (01:39:25):
Coast that always.

Speaker 2 (01:39:26):
Granted, it's not a noon game or anything they've got
all day. It's a Sunday night.

Speaker 1 (01:39:32):
To go to bed early. Who knows.

Speaker 2 (01:39:33):
I mean, he certainly doesn't like being shoved around by
his offensive lineman as a form of celebration. Yeah, give
me Chargers. Chargers cover Chargers Minds two and a half.
And then, lastly, biggest game in the NFC between two
NFC teams, not Rams, Niners, Eagles, Packers in green Bay

(01:39:56):
Monday night should be green Bay looking to bounce back
after they're out of nowhere lost to Carolina last week.

Speaker 1 (01:40:05):
Eagle. I mean, the Green Bay's defense is the most
confusing thing in football right now.

Speaker 2 (01:40:11):
Yeah, Micah's kind of disappeared.

Speaker 1 (01:40:13):
Micah, He'll disappear and then reappear. He's getting pressure. He's
the magic man.

Speaker 2 (01:40:18):
He's his win rate, but the stats aren't there. He's
not anchoring it. He had the three sack game, Jordan
Love hit or miss yea.

Speaker 1 (01:40:29):
You know, they get blown out, they blow people out.
It's just blows city over there.

Speaker 2 (01:40:36):
They tie the Cowboys, they tie the CA. I mean,
is there anything worse you can say about a team
this season?

Speaker 1 (01:40:45):
Oh? Man, what's the what's the line?

Speaker 2 (01:40:49):
Green Bay at home? Minus one and a half?

Speaker 1 (01:40:54):
Oh buddy, ah golly.

Speaker 2 (01:40:57):
It's not really enough points to flip it. It's this
is basically, of which one of these teams you think
is gonna win the game, Jimmy Crickets, because I mean,
unless you're unless you're doing Eagles are only gonna lose
if it's twenty eight to twenty seven. Eagles lose and
you still carous. They made trades. They got phillips from Miami.

Speaker 1 (01:41:22):
YEP. I might have to roll with those Eagles. Man,
I just don't trust.

Speaker 2 (01:41:28):
I don't trust either of these teams.

Speaker 1 (01:41:30):
I don't trust Green Bay more.

Speaker 2 (01:41:31):
I don't trust any team in the NFC period right now.
I don't trust Detroit. You just lost in Minnesota. I
don't trust Green Bay. You tied the Cowboys. I don't
trust how you can have faith in the faithful. I
don't trust the Rams. I don't trust your Niners because
of all the injuries. I don't trust the Bucks because
they're the Bucks.

Speaker 1 (01:41:50):
Oh buddy, Oh buddy, Oh buddy.

Speaker 2 (01:41:55):
You want me to go first?

Speaker 1 (01:41:56):
Yeah, you can go first. Already. I think I already
locked in my ass. I didn't know if you heard it.
You said Eagles, right.

Speaker 2 (01:42:01):
Yeah, Unfortunately, you're gonna pick the Eagles.

Speaker 1 (01:42:08):
Man. You know it's a coin flip, man, Yeah, I know.

Speaker 2 (01:42:12):
I've I've in my head over the last ninety seconds.
I've flipped back and forth. Yeah, and I've come up
with the reasoning of what I was about to deliver,
the giant monologue of why, and then I immediately like, wait,
hold on, maybe not, maybe not. Let me let me
think about that.

Speaker 1 (01:42:28):
Here's the thing. Whoever team you pick, I'll pick the opposite.

Speaker 2 (01:42:32):
You want to just flip, you want to split this one, no.

Speaker 1 (01:42:34):
Matter what, no matter what.

Speaker 2 (01:42:35):
Well, you locked in Eagles first, So I will be,
I will follow, you will be them's.

Speaker 1 (01:42:40):
I don't mind that, okay, all right? Like I like,
I'll somebody's gonna lose some points, someone's gonna win some point.

Speaker 2 (01:42:47):
I think the Packers coming off a loss to Carolina
are gonna be pissing vinegar. They're gonna be mad as hell.
And I don't think having to cover. I think that's
just a want a half points. Yeah, just drink some
cranberry juice. You'll be fine. All right, recap real quick.
I took rams, you took Niners. I took Bucks, you

(01:43:08):
took pats. I took Vikes, you took vikes. I took Chargers.
You got Chargers viks Viking in Then we split the
uh Packers and Eagles, Me with Green Bay, you with Philly.

Speaker 1 (01:43:23):
So we got three three three splits, three splits. So
there's gonna be movement one way or another in the standings.
We'll see if you come on chat whose team Cap?

Speaker 2 (01:43:33):
Who's see if you climb pass them?

Speaker 1 (01:43:35):
Let me let me know. Do you want to see
Cap come up cream all over Puma?

Speaker 2 (01:43:40):
We might need? Why are you so obsessed with creaming
on everything?

Speaker 1 (01:43:44):
Dude? The emojis are awesome on the thing is like creamy.

Speaker 2 (01:43:49):
I'm sure they are. I'm sure, I'm sure they are.
Uh you want to quick UTSA update?

Speaker 1 (01:43:56):
Oh, don't say? Uh? We scored twenty They got pretty good.

Speaker 2 (01:44:03):
Guess eight minutes remaining in the game. Yeah, fifty five
to twenty. Yeah, pretty rough. Pretty rough for UTSA tonight
in South Florida. Other college football notes, though, real quick
BYU and Tech. Starting to get pretty hyped for that one.
Definitely the biggest game in Lubbock since Crabtree catching the

(01:44:25):
touchdown in eight Game Day.

Speaker 1 (01:44:28):
Gonna be there, tone on the line.

Speaker 2 (01:44:31):
Did you see the story about the Texas Tech team Barber? No, okay,
so text Team Barber. His wife was in a pretty
bad car accident, had a needed a lot of medical care,
and the uh you know, Tech fan base rallied around
them started to gofund me. As we do in this country.

(01:44:53):
Instead of having proper health care for everybody, we ask
our neighbors to go fund our our emergence see healthcare
so that we don't go bankrupt because of medical bills.
But good on the b YU fan base. They heard
the story, caught wind of the gofundman started contributing. The

(01:45:14):
original request was like four grand, and they're up to
like one hundred and thirty thousand, and seemingly it's one
of those like they're probably gonna need most of that
kind of deal. Like it was a pretty gnarly They
are some of the nicest people I have a.

Speaker 1 (01:45:30):
Little too nice sometimes sometimes too nice, too nice to
trust and yeah, too nice to blindly don't want to
put you in a position of power there. You are
a very nice person.

Speaker 2 (01:45:42):
There was a uh, there was a there's been a
listener in the past. I believe he still is a listener.
Shout out if he is. Uh, he's He's swore at
different times to never listen to anything I was evolved in. Again,
I might have made some snide remarks about Holy under
where and stuff like that, as.

Speaker 1 (01:46:02):
We were one of my best friends.

Speaker 2 (01:46:04):
I believe my one of the lines was b y
Big Big twelve is not b YU Country. The Big
twelve is for universities that ban dancing on campus, not
for soaking's students that soak or something like that, like
it's I've had some shots.

Speaker 1 (01:46:20):
Ye level, but this is explained soaking. Yeah that wasn't FCC.
That was eligible. But no. One of my best friends
remember when she was she got married to her husband
who was Mormon. He was big in his church. And
I was like, so are you like the first or
second sister wife?

Speaker 2 (01:46:37):
And how did you take that?

Speaker 1 (01:46:40):
She laughed like like I love I love his husband.
They still send me a Christmas card everything with their family,
like the old school, like old school stuff. I don't
put it on a mantle. I get it, and I
call him and I'm like and they And the funny
thing is they both have the same birthday, so I'm like,
pretty fine. I was like, happy birthday to the so
and so is.

Speaker 2 (01:46:59):
I'm would call it their name, but like, yeah, good cuts.

Speaker 1 (01:47:02):
We still we still always crack jokes on them, and
they take it in good faith.

Speaker 2 (01:47:05):
Look again, and faith there's a there's nothing, uh, there's
nothing specific to Mormons. Whatever you believe in, if it
makes you a better person, I am all for it
and fully supported.

Speaker 1 (01:47:17):
Watch every episode of big love. I'm just saying love
the show.

Speaker 2 (01:47:21):
I've I've done some show research myself, and I've viewed
some videos where Mormon women are not good involved in. Oh,
I'm speaking more of the ones where it is good.
It's it's quite highly entertaining. Oh, but it's uh when
it when you used to be able to find it
on websites that now our state has required age verification,

(01:47:44):
which I will not do. I will never do. I
will never give the state any.

Speaker 1 (01:47:49):
Of my has a Mormon kink. They involve a lot
of people. He has a blanket with the whole cut out.
I mean, so, why do you think I know so
much about soaking? Have you ever put it together? Who
helped you? Go back and forth?

Speaker 2 (01:48:07):
Elsewhere in college football, Aggie's face their only other challenge
on the schedule besides the Texas game.

Speaker 1 (01:48:16):
They traveled to Missouri.

Speaker 2 (01:48:18):
Missou not starting quarterbacks out they're starting a true freshman,
but Missouri best running game in the SEC best.

Speaker 1 (01:48:28):
Seems like they're gonna run it about fifteen more times
this game. I would think, so, yeah, it's uh. Texas
A and M's defense.

Speaker 2 (01:48:35):
Stout really stout, susceptible at times to big plays, but
really solid, particularly their third down win rate. Their percentage
of getting off the field on third down blows everyone
in the SEC out dominant at getting off the field
as soon as they can first third downs forced the

(01:48:57):
most three and outs. I think Texas Texas on by.
I think the Aggie's winning in MISSOI, but I do
think it's a bit of a closer game. The only
other ranked game or the only the only other game
between two ranked teams, Oregon traveling to Iowa number nine
Oregon number twenty Iowa.

Speaker 1 (01:49:16):
I would say it is good. I think good defense,
but Oregon's gonna good defense too.

Speaker 2 (01:49:21):
I think Oregon can lose this game. I think traveling
to Iowa, the way Iowa manages the game, the way
they make you play to their style.

Speaker 1 (01:49:29):
They make you play in front of a bunch of
cancer kids.

Speaker 2 (01:49:32):
That's true, and you gotta wave to them. That's a
good bit, still a good bit.

Speaker 1 (01:49:35):
You don't want to beat their team. You know you're
gonna make a bunch of kids that have cancer cry.
I don't think all of them are Iowa fans. Oh no,
I'd be that dad to be like yo. I played
my daughter man the first time, score the first half
or to put two hundred cancer. You just can't go

(01:49:56):
all blitz all play.

Speaker 2 (01:49:59):
AI is gonna pick up that line and be like, oh,
flag this guy for some hot hot mormentage.

Speaker 1 (01:50:06):
Yeah, hey no, yeah, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:50:09):
I think Oregon wins, but that wouldn't surprise me if
it's a weird like seventeen to twenty game or like
twenty one seventeen, something kind of low scoring, something very
ball controlled, very defensive defense led game. I don't think
we're going to see an Oregon offensive explosion, but that

(01:50:29):
probably means they destroy Iowa by fifty yeah and move up.
And because Oregon also is feeling pretty disrespected by the
College Football Playoff ranking, because what is Oregon done? They've
lost to the number two team, that's it.

Speaker 1 (01:50:44):
And they've blown out every other person, even including ranked
like like not high highigh ranked team. So why is
why is destroy Penn State that they ranked numbers two?
Why is Alabama ahead of Oregon? Why is Georgia ahead
of We gonna we gonna get ours?

Speaker 2 (01:51:07):
All Oregon is done is lost. If and here's the
other thing, if the number two team that beat them
was Ohio State and not Jerk off Indiana. Like you know,
the college Football Playoff Committee is sitting there realizing, like God,
we're gonna have to give Indiana a first round by,
Like that is terrible for our business, Like that.

Speaker 1 (01:51:29):
Is not great. Oh, I agree with it could be great.

Speaker 2 (01:51:32):
I agree that that's the wrong way to think about it,
but that's the way they think about it.

Speaker 1 (01:51:37):
Obviously, can't change rules, and they don't.

Speaker 2 (01:51:40):
View Oregon as the same respect as the rest of
the one lost teams.

Speaker 1 (01:51:45):
Uh in the ranking, I mean Alabama was on for gump.
Come on, the.

Speaker 2 (01:51:50):
Playoffs committee has Tech ahead of Oregon. Tech has a
loss to unranked Arizona State. Make it make sense. It
doesn't make sense because they they know what they're doing.
They're manipulating it. And then yeah, as you said, Texas
on by and UTSA playing tonight, so no game Saturday.

Speaker 1 (01:52:08):
Did we get any other super chats? Yeah? Shout out
to Duster. He shouting out to O G l G
O G l G.

Speaker 2 (01:52:16):
Two dollars LG the og.

Speaker 1 (01:52:18):
Uh would you like to see a stein, a wineglass,
a shot glass next time? Put some money in the
super chat and make it known.

Speaker 2 (01:52:27):
Oh, I see Greg suggesting your Niners minute went a
little long there.

Speaker 1 (01:52:33):
I do I look coming for you this week, Greg,
they play each other, there is a I see what
you're doing, gonna get real creamy, Greg, And.

Speaker 2 (01:52:41):
I realized that is so uncomfortable. I really, it's worse
than soaking. You talking about creaming is worse than me
talking about soaking.

Speaker 1 (01:52:49):
I uh, it's like one of those words moist. It's
gonna be very moist with creaming.

Speaker 2 (01:52:54):
You're shooting my train of thought to the moon right now.
I have, Oh yeah, your Niners minute. Your Yankee minute
was a self contained one minute. Since we're doing these
Niners picking games these minutes, well, we're.

Speaker 1 (01:53:11):
Also the Niners aren't in the ass category, they're in
contender category.

Speaker 2 (01:53:15):
Sure, but some days, some days we're doing cow notes
followed by Niners notes.

Speaker 1 (01:53:20):
I have picked up on that a little bit. We
might need to Trunkkate at LG.

Speaker 2 (01:53:26):
The producer is telling me in my ear, we're gonna
need to truncate some of these segments because we're keeping him.

Speaker 1 (01:53:31):
He's also trying to say big words like trunk Kate.

Speaker 2 (01:53:34):
Oh, LG, college boy, take us to you think I've
got a college degree?

Speaker 1 (01:53:40):
LG.

Speaker 2 (01:53:40):
Take us to the lightning ground, get us the hell
out of here. We mentioned it at the beginning of
the show. At one point the Antonio Brown story today
like it felt like it had gone away. So he's
been hiding in Dubai, evading attempted alleged alleged tempted.

Speaker 1 (01:54:01):
Ct man like his brain's gonna be dissecting.

Speaker 2 (01:54:05):
So I I remember when the attempted murder charges were.

Speaker 1 (01:54:10):
Full on Aaron Hernandez where Yeah, there's probably some crossover there.

Speaker 2 (01:54:15):
I remember when they were filed out of Miami because
it was the celebrity boxing event. He opened fire, there
was the fight after the fight, and then he opened fire.
But it didn't like from his account and from some
of the accounts from other eyewitnesses, it was a shot
like into the air to get people to flee, to run,

(01:54:37):
to break basically to break it up like you do
when you got dogs fighting.

Speaker 1 (01:54:40):
Yeah, but I think you get charged with attempted murdered
just by discharging charge of your weapon. Yeah, exactly in
a crowded area. So it feels like I would he's
going to do a year or.

Speaker 2 (01:54:51):
Two possibly, Yes, I don't disagree, but I don't think
we're gonna see the book thrown at him, because it's
not from all the video and everything I remember seeing,
it wasn't like he was a bad aim or a
bad shot.

Speaker 1 (01:55:05):
And shows up in a maga hat. He'll get you know, well,
yeah you can. Hell, don't work the system, buddy, everybody
work the system. Don't think my you'll be you'll be
talking like Big John Southern Place. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:55:22):
Yeah, there's a there's no question, there's a there's an
easy way to get some of these charges drop.

Speaker 1 (01:55:28):
Hit me now if you could load that video that
I sent you of one whoa whoa Yeah, I sent
it on Twitter. Okay, message followed the rules following LG
has he did?

Speaker 2 (01:55:44):
He follow the full protocol to get this video cleared
by your standards? Are we fully by the book?

Speaker 1 (01:55:55):
Okay? All right, I will will you can go ahead
and roll it, go ahead, roll it at any time
because I have a teen so you can. You can
mute it though, you can mute that.

Speaker 2 (01:56:08):
Oh just a just a bear.

Speaker 1 (01:56:10):
Oh god, this is this is Barry Sanders highlight because
I'd like to share with you some stats. Okay, the
most touchdowns in NFL history ten plus yards.

Speaker 2 (01:56:21):
Wait, wait, so the most runs, the most touchdown runs
of ten or more.

Speaker 1 (01:56:26):
Yards, Yes, is held by Barry Sanders. That's fifty one.
Most touchdowns with fifteen plus yards is held by Barry
Sanders forty one. Twenty yards Barry Sanders thirty.

Speaker 2 (01:56:42):
These junk cuts are so nasty.

Speaker 1 (01:56:45):
Twenty five yards, yes, indeed, Barry Sanders twenty seven thirty yards.
That means he has to almost run half the football
field until he scores twenty three. How high do you
go that? The last one? Last one?

Speaker 2 (01:57:01):
So he's the leader in ten plus fifty all the
way up to.

Speaker 1 (01:57:05):
Thirty and five five incrency Okay, he I felt like
I had heard every Barry Sanders stat to know that
he was the second best running back behind him.

Speaker 2 (01:57:16):
It ever, but that's a pretty good collection of stats.

Speaker 1 (01:57:19):
You have the best. He retired because the Lions wouldn't
do like Emmett wanted the record. Barry didn't care about
the record. He wanted to win.

Speaker 2 (01:57:28):
I think there's there's Look, if we're talking natural ability
as running back, Barry's best ever done. Berry is the
best to ever do it, I think, and you know who's.

Speaker 1 (01:57:36):
That That's what makes you the best running back?

Speaker 2 (01:57:38):
You know who's probably second best ever to ever do it.

Speaker 1 (01:57:41):
Oh, it's true. I'm just.

Speaker 2 (01:57:49):
OJ in front of lt first two thousand yard rusher
in NFL history when it was only what fifteen games? Right, buddy, dude,
OJ was you want to You want to go down?
He want to go down? He played with some horrible built,
horrible teams. You want to go down a good highlight
wormhole the juice. Just separate the art from the artist

(01:58:12):
and go watch O. J. Simpson, Holly the Michael trailers.

Speaker 1 (01:58:18):
We ain't.

Speaker 2 (01:58:19):
Oh, somehow that didn't make the LG. I got bad news, fellas.
I'm going to be Uh, I'm going to be flying
pretty low for a little a couple months longer than anticipated.
I was really looking forward to May of next year.

(01:58:42):
Today I got word. I am now looking forward to
November sixteenth of next year.

Speaker 1 (01:58:48):
Oh, let me guess it is one of your nerdy
like bands.

Speaker 2 (01:58:51):
Not quite a nerdy.

Speaker 1 (01:58:52):
Band, grand thank you man.

Speaker 2 (01:58:56):
That one hurts And that got LG to the mic.

Speaker 1 (01:59:00):
Oh yeah, delayed yet again. Did you hear about the
fishing well they've been so this is there.

Speaker 2 (01:59:09):
This is the most leaks they've ever had, because first
of all, the Houser brothers are gone. Uh, the original
brains behind it. They've now had union labor union Strive
oh imagine that, which also the Houser supported the unions,
and now that they're gone, rock Star is trying to

(01:59:31):
crush Surprise. So the Housers pushed devs for working, you know,
seventy two hours in a twenty four hour day like
they were. They were notorious for other reasons that led
to some issues in the workplace, but they were the
main driving force to get these games not only out

(01:59:52):
on time, but as polished as they were day one.
And if you're telling me the game that would have
come out in May of next year was going to
be a buggy mess like Cyberpunk was when it first launched,
from a very well respected development team that made it
and The Witcher and all the other ones they they have,

(02:00:13):
if you're telling me, I now have to wait for November,
but it's going to be not buggy done.

Speaker 1 (02:00:19):
Like all that.

Speaker 2 (02:00:19):
Like every other GTA I've ever played. I mean, some
of them have some wicked bugs.

Speaker 1 (02:00:24):
But GTA Man is one of those games that Vice
City was my favorite because classic, because the whole Scarface
theme and the radio, the playlist and eighty setting and
it like what killed me was and Andreas and then
they stayed in La San Andreas.

Speaker 2 (02:00:40):
Is so GTA four is actually my favorite. I think
it's I love the immigrant story the East, like I
love Eastern European kind of influence with the New York
Liberty City. The it's it's the darkest, it's the like
gringiest kind of like.

Speaker 1 (02:00:59):
Push the buttons. Yeah, and It's five was just hey,
we're gonna hit you with more content. Five is five
is video game porn.

Speaker 2 (02:01:08):
It's just throwing as much in front of your eyes
to stimulate your senses at all times. It's California. It's fake,
it's plastic. It's not the West. It's not the best
written story, but it's got the most stuff you can do.
Like I still I find myself wasting, still wasting so
many hours playing GTA online, almost to the point where

(02:01:32):
now that this is being delayed, I think I'm gonna
start streaming GTA online again and just like call like
on Wednesdays, maybe Wednesdays where I'm not filling in for
Andy Keep because they also Magic announced they're also dropping
a brand new free DLC GTA Online, which yeah, I

(02:01:55):
think is I think Clearly they knew they were going
to catch hell if they didn't do something.

Speaker 1 (02:02:00):
Do ten mins on this. But hear me, al G,
if you have that graphic, that picture that I said, wow,
I know and I did not do this now okay
yeah LG. For all those people who are struggling with

(02:02:22):
food in the food stamps aren't coming through. Snap's not
coming through Florida. Florida, Florida has come through to help
all those single moms. It is a strip off, no Snap,
no problem. This past November first, they had a five

(02:02:44):
hundred dollars prize. We're the silliest car any amateur that
wanted to come in.

Speaker 2 (02:02:50):
This is grand theft auto suff like.

Speaker 1 (02:02:52):
This is a strip off to pay for affordable food. Yes,
I'd love you, Florida and I hate you at the
same time. You know, I kind of look, hey, I'm
for it. This brings us back to the stripper. Sure, sure,
I know everything from the north to cut the pizza
pie in half. I don't know the south side strip clubs.
I go into too many dangerous ones anyone.

Speaker 2 (02:03:14):
Just I feel like Florida, if I wanted to truly
become strip club guy, I would need Florida.

Speaker 1 (02:03:21):
Florida is definitely like a visit. Like I remember driving
driving the whole way through Florida, there was a sign
for a strip club every five miles or one hundred
and fifty miles culture baby, or one hundred and fifty.
It was, you're only fifty five miles away from the
strip club. Like the thing, you're only fifty miles away

(02:03:41):
from the strip club.

Speaker 2 (02:03:42):
Like it's a bucket's billboard. Exactly need some nuts exit.

Speaker 1 (02:03:47):
It kept us in their tiles and we were sitting
there contemplating, Sure, we gotta check this out. Bro.

Speaker 2 (02:03:53):
Not only do you need to check it out, you
need to check them out so then you can run.

Speaker 1 (02:03:57):
They had showers.

Speaker 2 (02:03:58):
You can know you can the truckers leave a Yelp review. Yeah,
you had showers for the truckers.

Speaker 3 (02:04:03):
You know.

Speaker 1 (02:04:03):
It was a one stop everything. You know, bulletholes, see sections, Yeah, handies.
That's what I'm saying. You know when I say strip club,
guye skeeziest of skis full. If you're gonna do it,
you gotta like it already smelled like an ash tray.

Speaker 2 (02:04:21):
And like Bob Downey Junior said, never go half, you
gotta go full go full.

Speaker 1 (02:04:26):
Skis, smoking a heat while you're having a strippers feed
you some fried shrimp.

Speaker 2 (02:04:31):
Sir, you just described my post marriage retirement.

Speaker 1 (02:04:36):
White like that.

Speaker 2 (02:04:38):
You got right hit me, LG. You got anything else?

Speaker 1 (02:04:42):
All right?

Speaker 2 (02:04:43):
So I will give LG some time to load up
the final clip because we've made him work hard during lightning.

Speaker 1 (02:04:49):
I didn't know you had.

Speaker 2 (02:04:50):
I didn't know both of yours were coming in lightning
round figure.

Speaker 1 (02:04:54):
I was like, put a little graphic on the little
stat line there. It was nice. That's nice.

Speaker 2 (02:04:58):
It also gives the people reason to watch the video
instead of just listening.

Speaker 1 (02:05:03):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (02:05:03):
Did get the news as LG sets up the last clip?
Did also get the news? The Stars are going to
play in Jerry World. We're gonna do another outdoor game.
They did it at the Cotton Bowl like five years ago,
no longer than that, like six seven years ago. Maybe
I don't know.

Speaker 1 (02:05:22):
Somewhere in there.

Speaker 2 (02:05:24):
They have the stadium series they do outdoor games, the doubt.
The Cotton Bowl one was awesome because it's one. It's
the Cotton Bowl, all the history of that stadium. It
was the official Winter Classic. So it was the New
Year's Day game and it you know it had the

(02:05:46):
uh weather cooperate with it, you know, in playing outdoor
hockey in.

Speaker 1 (02:05:53):
Dallas, old time hockey.

Speaker 2 (02:05:55):
That's right, it actually worked out well. The Jerry World
One is a massive cash Yeah.

Speaker 1 (02:06:01):
Oh, Jerry's trying to make money and.

Speaker 2 (02:06:03):
It's gonna be awesome because it's gonna be one hundred
thousand Dallas Stars and hockey fans inside the dude, Dallas.
The Stars have a strong foothold.

Speaker 1 (02:06:13):
Yeah, that's crazy.

Speaker 2 (02:06:14):
They won't have trouble selling that. Playing against a good thing,
you asked. Opponent unannounced yet, but the game.

Speaker 1 (02:06:20):
Gonna be a division rival avalanche. Edmonton's Avalanche would be awesome.

Speaker 2 (02:06:25):
Edmonton would be awesome playing in February of twenty twenty seven,
So not this coming year, but next season we'll get
that game.

Speaker 1 (02:06:34):
But so, Jerry's just making sure that if the Cowboys
go to the Super Bowl in twenty twenty seven, is
not going to interfere. Well, if they're playing with their
playoff games, Yeah, yeah no they y'all keep your hope,
Cowboy fans. They'll be fine.

Speaker 2 (02:06:50):
Cowboys can host every home playoff game next year is
their year, twenty twenty seven, and be fine moving away
from DFW back into our fair burgh here in San Antonio,
nineteen ninety four, November fourth, so it would have been
Tuesday night as we were live. I got my saying earlier,

(02:07:11):
I got my days mixed up. I had it set
for Thursday. But on this day in ninety four, something
happened in the Alamo Dome that I'm not sure has
ever happened again, at least not to the level.

Speaker 1 (02:07:25):
Of what we saw. Uh.

Speaker 2 (02:07:29):
I'll let Bob Costas take the reins on this.

Speaker 1 (02:07:31):
Bringing in Bob and this is what happened when they
had a light and laser show with smoke filled introductions.
It looks like the fire alarm was activated and the
fans got so vile.

Speaker 3 (02:07:42):
The water system was kicked off by the fireworks before
the Warriors in San Antonio's Thursdame.

Speaker 1 (02:07:48):
This delay the game as.

Speaker 3 (02:07:49):
People got wiped out. Look at the umbrellas. What I
give is that people had the fourth bring the umbrella
is here because the last time place and now we
have a rein, but not because of it outside, but

(02:08:10):
because of the fire scrappers inside.

Speaker 2 (02:08:13):
Absolutely nowhere this is Look at all this ridiculous thing
I've ever seen.

Speaker 1 (02:08:18):
Okay, ridiculous. Now, I don't know whether someone went up
there and turned.

Speaker 2 (02:08:26):
On we're trying to do for you to play a
game here, to protect the place. Very powerful so to speak,
of course, only so to speak. The fashion in that
clip from nineteen ninety four, as they're just getting out,

(02:08:46):
I do kind of like.

Speaker 1 (02:08:48):
I want the tight like polyesters shirt where I can just
show my good Let it just be like, what's up?
I think, who's stopping you? Tell me who's stopping you?
If I ever want to use my again.

Speaker 2 (02:09:02):
Well, on that note, we've heard enough about ukreaming tonight.
Cap tell the good people how they can find you
on social.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
