Speaker 1 (00:00):
Lie Bean lie bean line, ban line.
Speaker 2 (00:07):
Be well, light the beam. Indeed, welcome into the Tuesday
night edition of this It is Tuesday, right, it's a Tuesday, dude,
My week is already crazy. I made it. I made
it three hours earlier without the station without ticket seven
(00:29):
sixty going off air without So.
Speaker 1 (00:32):
You went to work three hours early?
Speaker 2 (00:35):
Uh no, no, no no, I worked four to seven. I
got there like two hours. I got there too because
I was so worried that I wasn't gonna like I
I've been shadow training for a couple of weeks to
try to remember how to do it and Q.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
Yeah, pretty much. I was.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
Mainly it didn't help that Andy wasn't in the room.
He was on remote, so I was. It was only
me in there to panic if something had gone bad.
But fortunately survived that earlier today. But since it is Tuesday,
as you said, right.
Speaker 1 (01:10):
Yes, could I interest you in something?
Speaker 2 (01:13):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (01:13):
What do you have? It's Veterans Day? It is okay
to all the veterans, thank you very much.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
Damn well, it's also National Sunday Day, So what the
F does that mean? Ice cream?
Speaker 1 (01:28):
Oh Sunday? I thought it was like National Monday. Tuesday
Sunday National Sunday Days, like we're going to have a
Sunday Day on Tuesday.
Speaker 2 (01:37):
Okay, it does feel like something Sunday that does feel
like one that should be day dependent, not date dependent,
like November eleventh shouldn't be National sun Just make it
the second Sunday, Yeah, in November if you want to
do that. No, Yes, the Veterans Day edition here of
the Sports Cave with Biggest Puma, the Tuesday Night edition.
(01:59):
I am your host, Sam Frieze. Of course. The voice
you hear across from me in the room is the
co host cap Ola. As I play with our new
equipment and what it's gonna take a minute, so it's
it's a little yeah, get up on that mic. It's
a little tonic. Yeah, trying to figure out exactly what the.
Speaker 1 (02:22):
It feels very fall I feel like LG.
Speaker 2 (02:24):
Will have no problem yelling at us if we start
to break or endanger the new equipment. But we are
back alast for Tuesday Night ride here. As cap said,
it is Veterans Day, of course. Also, don't forget to
celebrate National Sunday Day, but focus on Veterans Day.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
Yeah, I think Sundays can take a back seat? Is
it also National lectose Intolerant Day? Okay, how about give
me a five k? How about buy a veteran a
Sunday to celebrate veterans? Throw you if they're lactose intolerant.
Speaker 2 (02:59):
And I think it's if you're lactose intolerant, you're just skipping.
You just don't get anything because it's not National FRO yet.
Speaker 1 (03:06):
That is prejudicing against our lactose intolerant brethren.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
Now yeah, because it's actually just pro veteran. It's patriotic
if you ask me. We've got a lot to get
to because it has been a minute since we've been
in the room, a lot has happened. We've got a
Cowboys free NFL week tend to recap in the main segie.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
I've got.
Speaker 2 (03:31):
Right off the top here in the weekend recap, I
have possibly the dumbest thing I've done in at least
five years with photo evidence. So if you are listening
to this tomorrow, to the audio only version one, you're
not seeing the magnificent new additions, the new mics we
(03:52):
have here compliments of all of y'all that have sent
in super chats.
Speaker 1 (03:56):
This is because of y'all thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (03:58):
And as we always say, whatever we get, we intend
to keep growing this thing. This is a this is
a good first step to make us, uh look at
least a little bit more professional.
Speaker 1 (04:11):
So I thought LG painted the room the other room
we were in. We moved rooms, right, he tricked me.
What he trick like, this is already painted. I thought
he went above and beyond.
Speaker 2 (04:23):
Well, let's give him credit for it anyway, because he
did go about setting up this glorious credit.
Speaker 1 (04:28):
Credit.
Speaker 2 (04:29):
I'll give three quarters. I'll give a passing grades worth
of credit.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (04:33):
And then we got some Spurs notes. Spurs have won
three games since we last talked. On Thursday night, we
got a few cow notes to start looking ahead to
the Monday night game.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
Obviously, the the Thriller, The Thriller in Manila.
Speaker 2 (04:49):
The game everyone's waiting on. Yes, the ghost of Al
Davis takes on the soon to be ghost of Jerry
Jones out the same age that wouldn't surprise Al Davis
is gone but the sun.
Speaker 1 (05:03):
Hey, hey, I don't but come on, Jerry Jones, half
you Cowboys fans.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
We did have the death of a professional career in
Dallas today that we'll talk to you. We're gonna instead
of closing the Lightning round as we normally do with
a clip, I'm gonna give you five solid minutes on
the Nico firing to close it because I've been I've
had a lot of conversation today with friends, family, loved ones,
(05:32):
close acquaintances.
Speaker 1 (05:34):
Why did it take so long?
Speaker 2 (05:37):
Hold that thought, because we're going to close the Lightning
Round with a little Nico talk as well.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
He's going back to the MAVs, folks. He is now
a Mavericks fan once again.
Speaker 2 (05:49):
You will never have to worry about that, I promise you.
And that has less to do with Nico than it
does the people that kept Nico on the payroll for
the last nine months. So we'll get into do a
little fantasy football league update as well as some college
football rapid fire in the Lightning round as well. But
(06:12):
before we go any further, we're seven five.
Speaker 1 (06:18):
Hold on, I'm.
Speaker 2 (06:19):
Doing math in my head. This never goes well. We
are five weeks away.
Speaker 1 (06:23):
How many is that D day?
Speaker 2 (06:25):
That is thirty five days?
Speaker 1 (06:27):
Simple multiplications. It's NBA Cup Final. I got a little
dislection merites in which we are one up on the stage.
That's right one.
Speaker 2 (06:36):
We got a good win over the Rockets last Friday night,
which out of the last three, what has been I
mean like, well.
Speaker 1 (06:43):
The Rockets won was like a playoff game. That was good,
and that was without Daron Fox.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
The Bulls game last night was like a playoff game.
And then Saturday you got de Aaron Fox making his debut.
Speaker 1 (06:53):
I'm getting you off track, run run through. We're gonna
we got a lot to talk.
Speaker 2 (06:56):
Yeah, we'll get to spurs notes before we get any further.
Speaker 1 (06:59):
LG.
Speaker 2 (06:59):
Tell the good people how they can continue to help
this thing grow and support.
Speaker 1 (07:04):
The producer extraordinary.
Speaker 3 (07:05):
Look at this room, Well, you can subscribe to this
thing first of all, that would help.
Speaker 1 (07:10):
This is how he talks to you, Like like, well
that's how it happens.
Speaker 2 (07:17):
It's more direct, blunt, Yeah, it's more direct than condescends.
Speaker 1 (07:22):
Hit that subscribe.
Speaker 3 (07:23):
You can send a super chat out there. Super chats
are always appreciated because they're what helped us buy these microphones,
and memberships are also available as well. So we need
to figure out what we can throw up there for
our three members that we have already shout out to
our three shout out, Yeah, we.
Speaker 2 (07:41):
Need to we need to also figure out. I think
it was after you left last week. I was talking
to LG. We might need to do some kind of
like stream athon to try to raise some some money,
not only for equipment, but to cover some of these
software subscriptions that are coming up on the end of
(08:02):
the year, getting ready to expire.
Speaker 1 (08:04):
So LG can call me fat and like fifteen different drugs.
Speaker 2 (08:07):
Yeah, that's correct, Yes, we need more of that's what
you're paying for. That's the variety. That's where you can
see your mind the people what they want. Yeah, as
as LG said, the super that's the best one. The
superjets are what allows us to go out and purchase
new equipment, get a little bit more professional up in here.
(08:28):
But the subscriptions on YouTube absolutely free, will never cost
you a penny and really go a long way, or
at least I'm told to helping us fight the YouTube algorithm.
Speaker 1 (08:42):
So we got little animations for you, like I said,
shot glass, beer mug, We could do whatever. Yeah, we're
getting dangerous, We're getting really dangerous. Just wait, zoom bazilion waxes.
We haven't told you anything.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
I'm working on some segment intros as well. Yeah, so
maybe by twenty twenty six we'll have.
Speaker 1 (09:06):
I like the bit Ice was talking about earlier with
the common of the day.
Speaker 2 (09:11):
Okay, add it to the ideas. Maybe that's what we do, Okay,
something for our members. Yes, we do a we do
a monthly brainstorming session where if you're a member, ye,
we all hop on a zoom or meet up at
a restaurant, bar or something like that.
Speaker 1 (09:27):
We just there's gonna be alcohol involved.
Speaker 2 (09:29):
Well, those are the best brainstorming sessions. I think that
maybe that's where because we are, we are throwing around
some new ideas as we continue to grow this thing.
And as I said, the subscriptions help us a long way.
So if you can't throw a super chat out there, please,
if you're not already, give us a subscription there on YouTube.
(09:50):
We'll get to the superchats before the lightning round. But
I don't want to bog us down too much because
this weekend recap I am at. I'm honestly ashamed. I
like this is not a bit like it. It's one
of those moments where I've very rarely felt dumber in
(10:11):
the last decade than I did Sunday night.
Speaker 1 (10:14):
Oh man, he's building it up, folks. So Sunday's started.
Speaker 2 (10:18):
No, I LG's seen the photo evidence, but you haven't
seen it yet. Sunday started. I did the old airport
dance with the roommate that, Oh, no, honey, I don't
mind waking up at five am to drive you to
the airport.
Speaker 1 (10:31):
No, it's great, Like, I'll mind staying up till five am.
Speaker 2 (10:35):
So, as you know, I usually try to extend it
as far as I made it till about three forty five,
and somewhere between three forty five and four thirty tailed off.
She woke me up at four forty five and said, Hey,
about time to go to the airport. So did the
dance like, oh, I'm gonna miss you. She's gone till Thursday,
(10:58):
all the while thinking it's Sunday. The Cowboys are on by,
there's an NFL game in Berlin that kicks off in
less than four hours, seven hours of red zone with
no Cowboys to worry about into a Sunday night game
that is uh is actually appealing? Actually enter jug I
(11:20):
could see watching the Cowboys. I could see the next
twelve hours of my life being nothing but fulfilling. Uh.
So did the dance with her? At the airport, dropped
her off and everything was going swell, everything going great.
July I watched the watch the whole NFL Berlin game,
(11:41):
which I lg. I sent you a late photo. We
might might call for that in the main Peche because
there that was the same stadium where Jesse Owens won
one hundred meter dash at one point in time, with
the entire nationalistic Socialist Party of Germany observing the American win,
the American Germans, so spend all day watching football, stuck
(12:09):
on red zone, loving it. Buddy hits me up, ask
if I want to go watch the Sunday night game somewhere.
I'm like, hell, yeah, let's go. I'm in. It's so yeah,
feeling the the feeling of freedom in every inch of
my body of not.
Speaker 1 (12:25):
Having in the doghouse and keep talking, No, I mean
that's not.
Speaker 2 (12:29):
The freedom from the roommate.
Speaker 1 (12:30):
That's the freedom from the flipping cowboys.
Speaker 2 (12:33):
Okay, that's the freedom they're not having to worry about
how the cowboys are going to run my day or
anything like that. So end up watching the first half
the Sunday night game with a buddy and uh he
calls it a night heads home I decide I'll have
(12:53):
I'll watch a little bit of the third quarter before
I go home. Started getting a little hungry. So I'm thinking,
what is something that normally the roommate, not that she
would be against, but something that I would probably enjoy
more than she would, you.
Speaker 1 (13:10):
Know, Like that's like that's like fish, like anything like seafood.
Speaker 2 (13:13):
So seafood is normally the go to.
Speaker 1 (13:16):
So that's the like she hates seafood for some reason.
Speaker 2 (13:18):
Yeah, not a whole lot. Uh, it's good for it's
it's better for you.
Speaker 1 (13:24):
Well, just don't get it fried.
Speaker 2 (13:25):
Yeah, that's what what seafood is the best?
Speaker 1 (13:29):
Non sir?
Speaker 2 (13:30):
Yeah, the only that's those are called scallops. That's about
the extent of the non fried seafood. No, So I decided,
how about some good old greasy pizza, not not talking
chain pizza, Like, let's go, let's go with some Pizza Classics,
some solid college pizzaia but still good quality.
Speaker 1 (13:50):
I know, uh did but I know the owner of
Pizza Classics, so hopefully this goes well.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
Oh it's so user Pizza Classics went above and beyond me.
He might be a sponsor to try to prevent the
catastrophe that played out. So I'm at the I'm at
the bar, I'm placing my Pizza Classics order. I don't
think anything of it. Place the order, close out, pop home,
(14:18):
you know, less than two minutes away from my house.
So I get home, my phone rings. It's a two
one zero number, and normally, if I don't have the number,
like most people, it's sam going to voicemail or it's spam,
you know, well, and then we'll see if it's important
or not. But I thought to myself, you know, I
just placed the order like five minutes ago. I bet
(14:41):
this is them calling me to tell me like they're
out of Pepperoni rolls or you know something, that something's
wrong with my order or I need to change something.
Well I kind of was what was happening, because the
guy called and the first thing he says, he's like,
you know, do you just place an order for Pizza Classics,
And like the way he was hesitating, it was like
(15:03):
this is weird. Like I was like, yeah, yeah I did,
and he goes, okay, so we're seeing here that you
wanted to add cheddar and bacon to your cheese sticks.
And I'm like, yeah, is that a problem, like what's
a like no, no, no, we just wanted to clarify
(15:25):
before we made them because we just got the order
and I thought that looked kind of funny.
Speaker 1 (15:30):
So you got the mozzarell and then the cheddar and
then the bacon. So when you.
Speaker 2 (15:35):
When you're ordering out of pizzeria and you hear the
phrase cheese sticks, what do you do you think of
the mozzarella? Yeah, I think of like cheese sticks, Like
every cheese stick is mazzarella. No no, no, tell me
one place that has like, first off, no, no, no,
I'm talking like like the like pizzeria like cheese sticks,
(15:57):
like the like it's a pizza but it's just the cheese.
Speaker 1 (16:00):
Yeah, and it's cutting little fingery dipping things.
Speaker 2 (16:03):
Exactly, not like fried mozzarella sticks.
Speaker 1 (16:06):
It's not cheddar on them. Man.
Speaker 2 (16:07):
So but that's what I'm saying. I get normal cheese
sticks and add cheddar and bacon every single time.
Speaker 1 (16:13):
Oh so you've done this before?
Speaker 2 (16:14):
Yes, okay, yes, okay, And so the guy is telling
me very much so very much so. So the guy's
telling me, he's like he asked me three times. He's like,
but you're sure you want it on the cheese sticks.
I was like, yeah, dude, I do this all the time.
And at that point he goes, Okay, we'll see what
we can do. LG pull this picture up here. So
(16:36):
when they got to my front door, I knew I
had instantly.
Speaker 1 (16:41):
Met what in the dark darnation.
Speaker 2 (16:47):
So they made mozzarella sticks and then put cheddar and
bacon on top of those.
Speaker 1 (16:54):
I was thinking, I was like, mozzarella sticks, cheese sticks,
it's all mozzarella.
Speaker 2 (16:57):
No. So as soon as the guy is at my
door and I just got I got these and you know,
pepperoni rolled. I didn't even get like a full pizza box,
so that the cheese sticks I ordered should have been
in a pizza or the cheese sticks I meant to
order should have been in a pizza box. So as
soon as I see the delivery guy just holding two
(17:18):
styrofoam containers, I was like, Oh, that's why they called.
Speaker 1 (17:22):
Me something's wrong.
Speaker 2 (17:23):
That's why they called me. Yeah, what you're seeing right
now is six fried mozzarella sticks with cheddar melted on
top of them and bacon sprinkled on top of that.
I'm here to report it was quite delicious. It was
quite it wasn't what I wanted, but we made lemonade
(17:44):
out of it, and I might end up ordering it again.
Speaker 1 (17:48):
Actually, I can't go wrong. It's like ad cheese and
bacon to anything. You pretty much is a game. It's
a winner. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (17:54):
The only problem is I was banking on having some
of those cheese sticks left over for breakfast or lunch
the next day.
Speaker 1 (18:01):
A single service.
Speaker 2 (18:01):
Yeah, those were gone. Those were gone instantly. But even
the delivery driver was telling me it's like, yeah, everyone
in the.
Speaker 1 (18:09):
Shop was trying to figure out what you were ordering.
No one thought that, like, oh he meant bread cheese
cheesy breadsticks.
Speaker 2 (18:16):
Right, I think so.
Speaker 1 (18:18):
So I don't understand, like cheat, that's not cheese sticks.
Those are so.
Speaker 2 (18:22):
They're called so the different I was looking at the menu,
it's cheese sticks versus mozzarella sticks. Yeah, mozzarella sticks, right,
So I ordered the wrong thing. I ordered mozzarella sticks instead.
Speaker 1 (18:34):
They called mozzarella sticks in every place.
Speaker 2 (18:37):
Most of them, Yeah, or like or specifically fried cheese sticks.
The fried is usually what identifies.
Speaker 1 (18:45):
That threw me off too, because I was thinking of
the you know, the piece of pie, and I was like,
you could add cheese, so I guess that's a good thing.
Speaker 2 (18:51):
You know, adding cheddar and bacon and even jalapinos if
you're feeling spicy, is the absolute best way to do
cheese sticks.
Speaker 1 (18:58):
But it was the mots Rella sticks. That's what I'm
mostly thinking of. Yeah, yeah, that's that's where I was. See,
that's why ordering from the app is sometimes it can
put you in a weird place.
Speaker 2 (19:11):
But again, the Pizza Classics manager tried to talk me
out of it, tried to get me to realize what
I had done three times, and I was just like,
a dude, I do this all the time.
Speaker 1 (19:20):
It's shout out to my boy ride. I'm I'm gonna
call him and be like, were you there? Did you
call my part? Because the driver told me he was like,
you know, you want to sponsor our show.
Speaker 2 (19:30):
We were convinced, Uh, we were convinced you had messed up,
But you were so confident on the phone. You're like, no, man,
I do.
Speaker 1 (19:37):
This all the time, that drunk confidence, like make my order, bitch.
Speaker 2 (19:43):
No. There wasn't no hostility, although I will say by
the third time of him asking, it was like I
don't understand what's happening here. Yes, just just please please
a bitch. Yeah, please make it.
Speaker 1 (19:55):
So funny thing about Piece of Classics. I told him
this ever since I was a kid. Pizza Classics was
up in Austin, and I knew it as a twenty
four hour pizza joint. So when we go up there
and it's we go up there to go party, go
to the clubs, you know, Sixth Street before Rainy Street,
then even Rainy Street, we're up, Like, we get to
(20:17):
the hotel around three or four o'clock and I'm like,
I'm calling Pizza Classics and I'd sit there and wait
and like call the number and just let it ring
for like twenty minutes, and it never worked. It was
they were never open. I'm like, why do I think
they're twenty four hours? I was like, I think someone
told me at one time. It feels like they. It
(20:39):
feels like they is downtown Austin. I'm like, it's got
to be open.
Speaker 2 (20:43):
Even the one here, Like I have distinct memories of
people selling Pizza Classics by the slice at bar closing
when we first.
Speaker 1 (20:53):
Used to they used to run around with the whole
pizzas and for five hours. It was genius. Yeah, that's it.
Speaker 2 (20:58):
And that's what I remember from the Uh. Yeah, that
was my first memory of having like stumbling out of
Limelight after we had just booked a show with s
at X Music and it's three o'clock, the bands are
paid out and there's still a guy out there with
a pizza. It's like, whatever you have, give it to
me right now. Yeah, the good old days of Limelight
(21:19):
also Saturday. So we have we have documented thoroughly here
the UH pinnacle of weekend football viewing when you have
movie theater popcorn by your side. We it started as
just getting a bucket to go, and then it was
(21:40):
getting the actually telling omits to go. So you get
the refill and a giant ziploc bag, Like, what do you.
Speaker 1 (21:48):
Think is so different from movie theater kernels?
Speaker 2 (21:51):
If you don't realize the difference, I can't explain it
to you.
Speaker 1 (21:54):
I'm gonna get you a little melted butter machine so
you can.
Speaker 2 (21:57):
Just okay, Christmas, add that to the Christmas a.
Speaker 1 (22:02):
Little melted butter machine thing. But so there's so much
other ways to step your popcorn game up Saturday.
Speaker 2 (22:09):
The popcorn was didn't do popcorn this weekend because I
was doing UH with my buddy trying to eat cheese
sticks Sunday. But Saturday, it dawned on me. If you
get Mexican food, either Friday night or Saturday for lunch,
(22:29):
order a order of chips and queso or chips and
saucer or chips and some kind of dip at the
end of your meal to go. And so I had
Techamalina Saturday for lunch. Oh so like when you're leaving,
be like, give me a chipsen sauce exactly. So as
we were leaving, instead of having it with the meal,
I ordered chips and caeso, chips and salsa and chips
(22:52):
and guac and then went home and had for the
rest of the you know, afternoon window into the evening Saturday.
Why in college football, I had my full spread of
text mex dipping options. So one of these before here's
the other thing. I gotta stop doing some of this
because like even today, being out here on this side
(23:14):
of town, I eat Chicken Express again for.
Speaker 1 (23:17):
Lotch So this guy loves them some chick Chicken Express.
Speaker 2 (23:20):
Chicken ea is is unbeatable, but it's starting to get dangerous.
Speaker 1 (23:25):
It's that little it's the salt that season of serendipity,
you go go a little too hard on it. You
know you're feeling it later.
Speaker 2 (23:32):
You know what the real trick is in and out.
This is a true Uh, this is a true fat
boy trick right here. Take the spicy serendipity mix sy
pour it.
Speaker 1 (23:41):
In your gravy. Oh so then you have spicy gravy.
Speaker 3 (23:45):
Put it.
Speaker 2 (23:45):
I poured eight packs of it in my gravy, like
I I smoke. I have no taste buds, I need spice, sir,
attack No, no, no, We'll be.
Speaker 1 (23:56):
That's a lot. That's a lot of sodium. Bro that's
a lot of sodium.
Speaker 2 (24:00):
We'll be fine.
Speaker 1 (24:02):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (24:02):
This next weekend though, I'll report back. I'm gonna do
the chips and dip on Saturday and then the popcorn
on Sunday. And you can imagine what kind of shape
I'll be in. Well, actually tomorrow night or coming up
Monday night, Cowboy game, Monday night, this might be. I
(24:23):
was about to say, this is gonna be the monster,
This is gonna be the weekend to uh, to tie
it all together. The only other thing I have from
the weekend to y'all have any idea what's going on
at the Alamodome last week and all this week, so
it's a massive It's some massive state band competition, like
(24:45):
high school band competition, so you know, buses schools from
all over competing.
Speaker 1 (24:52):
Dude, I just saw, like I live or maybe or
maybe not around Lhacienda, and you saw a bunch of
I saw three tour buses looking pulling in there, and
I'm like, what is going on? If I was a waiter,
I'd be like, God, help.
Speaker 2 (25:08):
Me now or let me uh. Also, if you are
a citizen of the East Side that has an Airbnb
on both sides of your house as neighbors, because I
don't know why. At first, I thought, oh, it's a
band competition, Like these people are docile, these people are harmless,
they have no The band kids are the freaks. And
(25:30):
guess what they're American pie. Guess what their parents are
our age now? And Dude, one of the houses next
to me, they were up till the night I was.
Speaker 1 (25:43):
Staying up to take step to the airport.
Speaker 2 (25:45):
They might have stayed up later than me and were
absolutely lit, blaring country. They were from Alvarado, Texas, where
they still call themselves the Indian It's like.
Speaker 1 (25:56):
Oh, man out of respect. Out of course, out of
respect feathers not that's right, out of respect.
Speaker 2 (26:03):
But now I have I had the I had two
sets of lit band parents on both which was actually
kind of fun because, uh, you know, they just imagining,
like do you think of a dad's celebrate.
Speaker 1 (26:17):
Go to your house and be like, we'll be right back, Johnny. Yeah,
well you think of like a dad.
Speaker 2 (26:22):
Celebrating, uh you know, a state playoff run in football
or basketball. Uh, these parents are celebrating a state playoff
run in band. And it's it's literally it's like Randy
Marsh at the little league game.
Speaker 1 (26:37):
Just dad's full.
Speaker 2 (26:38):
Tea hyped up, like, hell yeah, Aaron, play the crap
out of that trumpet.
Speaker 1 (26:44):
There ain't nobody in the state that plays it better
than you. That's my boy. It's like, that's so one
of my one of my kids best friends was Johnson
like h like marching band and dude, they're out there
on the blacktop for hours and hours in the commit
and I'm I'm talking like they might be more in
shape than the football players, you know, because this is
(27:06):
non stopping. They're carrying all this, like especially the tuba
players and the one they call flutes are a little
they're cheaping it out. But you hear that little that
metronome DA that would drive you crazy. Man. Yeah, I
don't think I would shout out to Greg with the
(27:27):
five dollars super chap for Puma's Theater. Hey, thank you, Greg,
thank you. We were talking about like last show, we
were talking about soaking and tabasco. I said, soaking in
some pickle juice. I see see what you get there.
Speaker 2 (27:39):
I think there there is a world where two two
types of popcorn can coexist. We need to, we need
to co exist, bumper sticker. But just for all the
different kinds of popcorn.
Speaker 1 (27:50):
Yeah, I know they do salt flavoring, but like I'm
telling you, kernel flavoring.
Speaker 2 (27:54):
How do you feel about cheddar cheddar?
Speaker 1 (27:57):
Oh yeah, like you know, like the popcorn teams?
Speaker 2 (27:59):
Yeah yeah, yeah, the cheddar got ate combined the cheddar
with the caramel.
Speaker 1 (28:04):
Yeah, that's that's the regular one. That one stayed a
little stale. But the cheddar and all that, Yeah, that
one that one hardly got touched.
Speaker 2 (28:11):
Do you have anything from the weekend before we.
Speaker 1 (28:13):
Get man, besides going to a full on club where
they were doing black fraternity stepping and my gym shorts
very because my friend said it was casual. Yeah, nothing,
nothing much there. And then I left my phone in
the car and just sat there and people watched while
(28:35):
people watched me.
Speaker 2 (28:36):
That's that's that's a healthy exercise every now and then
they just leaving the phone at home or in the car.
Speaker 1 (28:44):
It was horrible because I couldn't find him. I never
found him, like, I'm literally I'm getting I'm going, it's
my barber. And I went to the barberge as you
can see online.
Speaker 2 (28:53):
Stumbling through the club.
Speaker 1 (28:55):
He was there. He was there with his other barber.
I was like, and he was like, yeah, we were
on the right side of the DJ booth and I
was like, dude, I sat in a reserved booth on
the left side. I just sat down, you know. I
was like, man, I'm not gonna stand around wile everybody's like,
look at this big white boy. I'm one of two
white people in there, dude, which you know, and I
(29:16):
grew up in Memphis and I'm not really worried about it.
Speaker 2 (29:18):
It's not me.
Speaker 1 (29:20):
But it was more than young. It was young. It
was all twenty twenty one to twenty four year old.
Who do you think goes to the club. I didn't
know it was a club. Twenty four year and I'm
and I literally asked him. I'm like, dude, I'm in
basketball shorts. He's like, come through, come through, and I'm like,
is this a like I feel like it's a club,
(29:40):
and he's like, nah, it's more like a restaurant and
all that stuff. I go in there standing room only.
Then it's like they're patting me down full you know,
see if I'm like God, I was like, man, I'm
gonna go there just like cuss him out, and like
I can't find him. He's looking at me. Of course,
(30:01):
I'm sitting there chatting it up with like some twenty
year olds and stuff, and they're like, oh, you're in
the right place, and I was like yeah, I was like, calm.
Speaker 2 (30:07):
Down, are you in the right answer everything with another
and I'm sure.
Speaker 1 (30:12):
They're like, man, this old, this old, big white guy,
he probably he's got money where he lives here. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (30:17):
I was about to saying I would imagine I would
would have liked to hear some of the conversations on
the right. I'm like, anybody else see that giant white dude.
Speaker 1 (30:25):
Dude when they when they start stepping. I'm talking like
stomp the yard style. I was like, I sat down
and watched it for a while. I was like, damn,
I've never seen this like this, Like they started doing
it like a mamba style around the whole club.
Speaker 2 (30:37):
Yeah, and that's a that's a mamba line, a conga line.
Speaker 1 (30:41):
You don't want to I got no rhythm, Like that's
what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (30:45):
Like, you know, but you don't want to get pinned
where you're like you have no other Like oh.
Speaker 1 (30:49):
Yeah, I had to wait for the end to walk
out and get my phone and then I'm like calling
him like he's like, oh I left. Oh that's even
better like killing me man. I was like, I was
like I was in basketball shorts by myself in the club.
Speaker 2 (31:07):
Just look, you're you're a you're a bigger man. Having
gone through that, that's a memory that the first time
that's happened, and that doesn't surprise me in the slightest.
Speaker 1 (31:20):
You want to do some spurs notes Market.
Speaker 2 (31:22):
Eight thirty six. Eventually, LG. I will send these to
you because I keep remembering. I've gotten better on this
part of it.
Speaker 1 (31:30):
Just do a bit.
Speaker 2 (31:31):
Now, I've got job I know. Now I've got to
do the next part of it. It's small steps, small steps,
baby steps. No, we were here Thursday night previewing the
NBA Cup game against the Rockets Friday night, and as
you said, Man, that happened. That has Yes, make sure
we get our sponsor NBA tag in there.
Speaker 1 (31:52):
Expect my first class tickets.
Speaker 2 (31:54):
Yeah, sitting next to Sema Hi.
Speaker 1 (31:58):
Man, do not give me those dreams because.
Speaker 2 (32:01):
She does immirates air. I saw one of the ads.
Speaker 1 (32:04):
I thought, I thought I was right, Like my dream
growers are like she never ages, she's like sixty. Yeah, deceptively.
I would hit over most of the twenty year olds
out there.
Speaker 2 (32:14):
But you're you're saying, this is like if I said
I'll give you a million dollars if you walk to
the other room, like of course yes, the answer is yes,
Like there's no not the women would say yes to
of course, there's no not even buy and I'll do it.
There's really nothing to argue there. No, you mentioned it.
The Friday night game against the Rockets. That was a
(32:35):
preview of what a playoff series between San Antonio and
Houston could look like, including a little chippiness at the end.
Where Shingoon was. Winby might have thrown his head back
a little harder than Shingoon actually hit him. But there
was a good there.
Speaker 1 (32:50):
Was acting on both ends. Yeah, it was a very
sloppy game, like but I think the defense. That was
a game where two really good defensive teams stepped up
their defense the entire game, didn't let it off, didn't
let off the throttle. And you had what twenty four
turnovers for god rock, how many it was twenty, Like
(33:14):
twenty four turnovers. We had eleven in the first half,
but then we only had two or three in the
second half, so we type. I love the fact that
last year the theme was we come back out in
the third quarter and we absolutely take it dumb, you know,
like we are coming out of the locker room and
we're not rising to the occasion. You know, we didn't
(33:37):
take our blue shoe. So now I'm loving to see this,
especially in the Chicago game as well. You know, we
are coming back out of locker room and changing that
whole narrative, you know, and you saw that like kept
the defensive up and it was just man that Like
(33:58):
that game was intense.
Speaker 2 (34:00):
It was also a good despite the five turnovers. Steph
Castle thirteen assists in that game, the last game where
he was asked to be the primary initiator. Of course,
de Aaron Fox comes back the next night, Saturday Night.
But you're kind of I think we either talked. I
think we talked about it last week, the potential value
(34:23):
in having guys play outside of their roles while everyone
gets back kealthy and everyone gets into their what will
eventually be their normal lanes to swim in, like the
the value of having Steph Castle being the primary basically
point guard for the first eight games of the season
(34:44):
seven games of the season. Ever minute it was.
Speaker 1 (34:46):
Before in the point guard, even when Daron Fox is
on the court. See I think you're still or is
it just trying to work them in? I think it's
it's I think it's a little bit of both.
Speaker 2 (34:55):
I think the you saw it in the in the
game Saturday night, jumping ahead against the Pelicans.
Speaker 1 (35:02):
That was where as that game.
Speaker 2 (35:04):
Was closer than it probably should have been there in
the fourth quarter, that was where you saw the value
of having a veteran like d Aaron Fox that can
set the pace get everyone in their right spots, which
is something that not saying that Steph Castle can't do that.
It's just the veteran presence of the Aaron Fox.
Speaker 1 (35:23):
No, we had a great first game. I was kind
of thinking more of the Chicago game that was yesterday. Yeah,
that was during the fourth quarter when we're ten points
down and they can't like miss a three. In the
first half of the fourth quarter before they just start
they couldn't make a three. It was Castle and the
Aaron Fox was playing the wing, you know. So I
(35:45):
just I'm like, man, is this going to be a
theme or is we going to start having more point
guard action?
Speaker 2 (35:52):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (35:52):
The Aeron Fox playing the point.
Speaker 2 (35:54):
I think that's where the you know, the flexibility of
having both those guys on the court at the same
time because there's uh, you know, the athletic the athleticism
of Steph Castle allows him to take over games, his
value games.
Speaker 1 (36:09):
It's right, he drops another double double yesterday.
Speaker 2 (36:13):
That's something de Aaron Fox doesn't have as much of
where I think, like I said, kind of as you're starting, Yeah, as.
Speaker 1 (36:20):
Your Castle can get that get it above you know, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (36:24):
As you're he's more explosive, more explosive of an athlete.
I think as you start to see guys settle into
what their roles and and lanes of operations, how they're
going to operate within the system. I think that's where
you're going to see the value of having Darn Fox
alongside Steph Castle, where it's not going to be who's
(36:45):
the point guard. Uh, it's they can both initiate the offense,
but late in games, it's gonna be the ball in
de Aaron Fox's hand. And that's where you're going to
see more of the pick and roll actions with Wimby,
more of the you know stuff, Casshle playing off ball,
which also now we're.
Speaker 1 (37:02):
Going to see a lot of matchups for sure. I
mean you got cod Pop being the you know, Wizard
of Oz behind the scenes to uh, what'd you call
him the Wizard of Oz? No?
Speaker 2 (37:12):
No, no, the first part Pop oh oh working pulling.
Speaker 1 (37:16):
The streams behind the scenes with Mitch being the front uh,
you know, the front man, and they're scheming up schemes
like this guy's gonna be a little bit taller, So
we're going to have Castle running point over Daron Fox
during late games, and then I think they're going in
halftime and scheming up more and really breaking it down
(37:39):
to create the matchups that we need. And just think
when we get Dylan Harper back.
Speaker 2 (37:43):
Yeah, that's the you know, the flexibility this roster has,
it might not have, might not have enough shooting. Still,
the Spurs have played majority of their games where they've
been the lesser three point shooting team, which traditionally the
way the league has gone. Now, that's usually not a
good omen, But at the same time.
Speaker 1 (38:05):
I think that shifted last last year.
Speaker 2 (38:08):
You know you had you had one. Boston led the
league in three.
Speaker 1 (38:12):
Yeah, exactly the year before without Tatum, but like you
still had. The Knicks are still not a three point
shooting team. They're grinded out, throw a down low, you know,
inside out type of team. So was Indiana kind of
with Halliburton.
Speaker 2 (38:28):
No, Indiana was jacking stuff up with with halliwell, with
Halliburton and Nesmith, And I mean it's I think the
the what changes it is how reliant on the mid
game and the rim, attacking the rim that Oklahoma City is.
Oklahoma City can get by because they play such great defense.
(38:49):
And again, like most things we've talked about when comparing
the Spurs, Oklahoma City is the team to compare them
to because that's what they're building from every man exactly,
that's what they're gonna have to build towards. I mentioned
the Paul Garcia put out a few stats last night
that kind of I wouldn't say shock, were shocking, but.
Speaker 1 (39:14):
Pretty good.
Speaker 2 (39:16):
Yeah, and contextualized what the start of this season has
been in terms of uh, some trends. So the Spurs
are five and one this season, even when they've lost
the three point line, So even when they aren't shooting
the ball well behind the arc, which analytics would say
(39:38):
is a good way to find yourself in a hole
early in games. Uh, they're still finding a way to
claw those games out and for perspectives exactly exactly efficient basketball,
efficient offense, and more importantly, good defense, really good defense.
So last season when the Spurs got beat on the
(40:00):
at the three point line, they were thirteen and thirty two.
Who and they're five and one through the first six games.
Speaker 1 (40:08):
That's amazing.
Speaker 2 (40:09):
That's a pretty good one. That one again, I think
is that sustainable? Is that something that I mean they're
obviously I was talking with Andy on the radio show
today and if everybody was back kealthy, if Dylan Harper
was there if roster, you know guy one through thirteen,
one through fifteen with the two two way contracts, everyone's available.
(40:31):
I still think if you were a GM looking at
what the team could use the most, it's just shooting.
It still feels like.
Speaker 1 (40:43):
Champagne's he's been good, like he's right and he's not
too streaky.
Speaker 2 (40:48):
He's on his best day. He's above league average. It's
not like who who on the roster right now? Do
you think of like that's a shooter, like that guy
is a dead eye, that guy cannot and be like
behind the three point Yeah, behind the three, I would say,
excluding of course Vassell and Champagne, right, those are my shooters.
(41:13):
And see that's where I think you.
Speaker 1 (41:14):
Think we need one more. Well, I just think if
you were looking for how's deer Fox, I haven't really
seen him cut loose behind the three. Yeah, I think
it's still I thought he was more of like a
mid range Yeah.
Speaker 2 (41:24):
But I don't think there's outside of the ones you
outside of Champagne and Vassil, I don't think there's anyone
else on the roster you think of as a consistent
three point threat or a guy in the corner.
Speaker 1 (41:37):
He's like that he's like that Bowen in the corner, right,
you know.
Speaker 2 (41:40):
And that's where I think if you're looking at ways
where this team's going to get better just when they
get healthy and have more time playing together, but already
looking potentially to any kind of moves at the trade deadline,
one shooter where you're not giving up a whole lot
just to get a guy that could like like a
Doug McDermott type, even like someone that's just gonna brnd
(42:03):
Forbes before he went crazy. Uh, you know, someone that's
just I.
Speaker 1 (42:08):
Got micro wave think, Like I'm like, right now, I'm like,
don't give anybody.
Speaker 2 (42:13):
Oh no, I'm already thinking about because because now like
looking at.
Speaker 1 (42:17):
You're taking championship kind of.
Speaker 2 (42:20):
That's kind of what I'm getting at. Like it kind
of feels like if you're the only team you might
be comparing yourself to three months exactly.
Speaker 1 (42:30):
We got back to back with the Warriors. Now, like
they said, was the Houston a measuring stick for us?
Like they didn't want to say yes or no, But
I think this is our measuring stick. Back to back
with the Warriors, veteran team killers behind the arc, great
pick and roll teams, you know, let's see if we
can hang with them, and then the solid defenders.
Speaker 2 (42:51):
Yeah, you know, and that was always the thing the Warriors. Obviously,
the Splash Brothers got most of the attention with Clay
and Steph backing up threes at an insanely efficient rate,
but their defense was what made the Warriors so damn
in your head, you know when they were absolute prime on.
Speaker 1 (43:11):
Our test style like er defenders, they were in the
mental game.
Speaker 2 (43:18):
How about that fourth quarter though last night, specifically.
Speaker 1 (43:22):
The two back to back threes by Wemby like get
away wait?
Speaker 2 (43:25):
So that speaking of that was Harrison Barnes coming to
set the screen, which again, think about that, like your
your your five man, your center is dribbling the ball
at the top of the arc.
Speaker 1 (43:37):
You knew he was going to take it through.
Speaker 2 (43:39):
Your fore man is coming up, your power forwards coming
up to set a screen for your center. So you're
running a five to four pick and roll or trying
to potentially trying to, and then your center waves him.
Mom says, no, no, no, I got this. That that
crossover he put on vusvit into the three pointer. You
(44:01):
just knew that shot.
Speaker 1 (44:03):
Still, did you see the still picture? I wish we
would have picked that one up, Like how much higher
he was? Oh yeah, it wasn't even closed. No one
can stop that shot. No, No, it's you have to
double team them, which, as they said on the national
game Friday, Oh did the Suns figure out how to
guard Winby? You know, double team, double team them right
(44:24):
off the bat, get them flustered, give them doubles, you know,
And it did. Do we saw that mimicked by New Orleans.
Speaker 2 (44:32):
I think we're gonna see that continue to be mimicked.
Speaker 1 (44:35):
But Wemby last night looked like that's how He's like,
you can't double me if we spread out the floor
so much. And then I start, hey, guess what, I
haven't been taking threes. I'm gonna start taking some threes.
Speaker 2 (44:48):
Yeah, and I was so fourth quarter he was three
for three on three pointers. That was nine of his
eighteen points in the fourth quarter last night, like eight
team points. Also, he became the first player, I know
this is a bit of a selective stat but it's
insane when you hear it all together, first player in
(45:10):
NBA history to have thirty five plus thirty five or
more points, ten or more rebounds, five or more assist,
five or more blocks, and five or more three pointers.
Go thank you, Gina, Like insane, insane to hear that
stat line sounds like three dudes, yeah combined.
Speaker 1 (45:33):
You know the I don't play fantasy basketball.
Speaker 4 (45:36):
But.
Speaker 1 (45:37):
Like, I'm sure you get points for all that.
Speaker 2 (45:40):
Oh yeah, no, I would assume there's never been a
fantasy basketball. It's gotta be yeah, er like yeah, maybe
but even yeah, but jokers not getting the blocks, but
he's he's getting more assists consistently. I think that would
probably that's got to be the only guy that could
(46:02):
fill it.
Speaker 1 (46:03):
Up close. I want to give a shout out to
Kelden Johnson leading I think he's leading the team in
offensive rebounds. When you have a seven foot six guy, yeah, now, Kelton,
he is. He is murdering the rim on those second
chance points.
Speaker 2 (46:21):
See, and that's where you know when you're when you're
losing the three point battle. Rebounding and defense is what
keeps you alive in those games where you're just getting
mathematically outscored because they're taking threes, you're taking twos.
Speaker 1 (46:37):
But if you're getting majority of reguard crashing the board
so your big man can get back and causing chaos
and you're getting offensive rebounds and causing you know, havoc
down there, Like that's a what was it? Houston was
number one in offensive rebounding going into Friday's game, and
(47:01):
we just we destroyed him on it. And I don't
see that, you know, I see that continuing to happen.
Speaker 2 (47:10):
Yeah, the Kevin.
Speaker 1 (47:11):
Johnson stepping it up. He's like, I'm not getting traded.
That's what I was about to say on this team
right here.
Speaker 2 (47:18):
I wish I wish Vasell could get a little bit
more of that in his game right now.
Speaker 1 (47:26):
The GENOBLEI six man attitude. If he wants to be
that man, he better like Dylan Harper is coming for
the Cell's job, you know, once he comes back, because
he wants to be that guy off the bench, the
six man. Well, because we can't start for Sell Harper, Castle,
Dearon and Wemby.
Speaker 2 (47:43):
You know, I'm still not sure Harper immediately gets dropped
into the starting lineup. No, no, and he's back kealthy.
He is the only person left on the injury report.
Because we should also mention Luke Cornett now back in fully.
Speaker 1 (48:02):
Off game list. Just lob City up in there well.
Speaker 2 (48:06):
And that's the kind of guy. Him and Steph Castle's connection,
like I think you know five or six of Steph
Steff's assists were to Cornett. Is that having that one
two punch potentially when Wimby doesn't have to carry as
much of the load it More specifically, again thinking way
too far ahead on things, the matchup of having Wimby
(48:32):
to cover Chet and now Luke Cornett to bang bodies
with Isaiah Hartenstein and fight the more physical big man
like that is the value of having a guy like
Luke Cornett just having the taking some of that physicality
off of Wimby's shoulders, where Cornett and even a Linux
(48:54):
to a lesser extent, probably.
Speaker 1 (48:56):
Saving his energy for the offensive, but also shutting down
chets e point game right because of the because of
his lead.
Speaker 2 (49:02):
No, I'm I am absolutely giddy after because as you
said last Thursday night, when we were in here, we
were specifically talking about the uh you know, the teams
that had started sending the the early double.
Speaker 1 (49:16):
Teams and Phoenix Suns were the first, and.
Speaker 2 (49:18):
Wemby talking about how the game was moving a little
fast right now, but but we'll figure it out. Well,
since then it's been three straight wins, so.
Speaker 1 (49:27):
That killer instinct of them the Chicago game and you
shout out to uh, I want to hear from our guy.
Oh yeah, I went to the who went to the
game from Chicago? Listener? Listener?
Speaker 2 (49:39):
Who was what was that, Matteo?
Speaker 1 (49:40):
That was that? Who was modest?
Speaker 2 (49:43):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (49:44):
Modesta? If you're listening, man shouting on the chat, dude, yeah,
we need to hear about it.
Speaker 2 (49:47):
I did see. There was a couple of accounts.
Speaker 1 (49:50):
They caught a kid picking his nose, like was like
l G that he was like eleven, but he was
like he was like speaking of I.
Speaker 2 (50:05):
Uh so, you know how much LG loves to have
people take pictures of him. That's a fair game and
not come up and say hi or anything like that.
I had one sent to me from Saturday. I forgot
to send it to I forgot to send it to him.
Speaker 1 (50:25):
You got to you gotta get if you're with someone,
you got to pose behind him. It was so it
was it was a little roadrunner or something.
Speaker 2 (50:33):
It was from the roommate. She got a good picture
of him as he was as he was filming the
believe it was the halftime show Saturday, night. Yeah, so
we can add that one to the collection. You mentioned
it as well. Tomorrow night. Uh, it's a weird back
to back against the Warriors, but both at home, both here,
so tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (50:53):
Night they're both at home. The second one was going.
Speaker 2 (50:56):
Yeah, oh yeah, yeah, there you go. That is that's
the picture. Oh that's that was her graduation announcement.
Speaker 3 (51:06):
So there's the picture of me there. That's my back
in the gray photo Jersey Center courts.
Speaker 1 (51:11):
Getting he's getting that backshot on the Silver Dancers. You saw.
Speaker 2 (51:14):
You see the roommate had middle school, high school squad.
Speaker 1 (51:21):
You might want to trick.
Speaker 2 (51:22):
You might want to trick one of them is getting.
Speaker 1 (51:27):
Super small yes on the computer, let's go with that.
Speaker 2 (51:30):
Yeah, the roommate had some had some nice seats from
a friend Saturday night.
Speaker 1 (51:35):
That's when I texted her back. Nice seats. Yeah, mid court.
Speaker 2 (51:39):
So I think also David Robinson is somewhere in that
shot down like five rows in front of her at
that point. But yeah, I know Tomorrow night seven o'clock
tip against the Warriors. And then Friday another Emirates NBA
Cup match. Oh, buddy, Warriors, it's a sand and San
(52:00):
Antonio home game. But it's not tipping off till eight thirty.
That's why I thought it was West Coast right crazy,
and it's actually that won't even mean it'll be eight
forty eight forty five Friday night. The frost better be
absolutely insane, liquored up nice and.
Speaker 1 (52:18):
Luga on parking spots in front of my house.
Speaker 2 (52:21):
Well, I wish, I wish it was that packed where
they had to come all the way down to the Alamodome.
Speaker 1 (52:26):
Is our producer extraordinaire working any of these games?
Speaker 2 (52:30):
Oh? Yeah, I guess I should check.
Speaker 3 (52:31):
I'm working the next two games. Yeah, the Warriors and
the Warriors.
Speaker 1 (52:35):
All right, all right, Spurs cave. Good thing. There's pictures
really close.
Speaker 2 (52:39):
Yeah, we need to keep sending them to us so
we can have photos close.
Speaker 3 (52:44):
Yeah, say hello and try to put you on the
jumbo tron.
Speaker 1 (52:48):
Don't say hello.
Speaker 2 (52:50):
Actually we need we need Well, let's talk about this
off air, because there might be some gorilla marketing ideas
we could throw gether Friday night. Also, I believe is
another Amazon Prime broadcast, So if you want local coverage,
you're gonna have to turn to Big Brother WAI.
Speaker 1 (53:12):
To get radio local. I don't think we're getting all
give Bezos' money. Of course we do.
Speaker 2 (53:18):
Let's do a little quick col notes before we get
into the main safety. It is eight fifty eight.
Speaker 1 (53:27):
Uh yeah, I'm not.
Speaker 2 (53:29):
We're gonna save the majority of col thoughts for Thursday
because the game feels like it's a month away since
it's Monday Night Football six.
Speaker 1 (53:40):
All these from now, I'm gonna laugh my ass off.
Speaker 2 (53:43):
Have you seen what the Have you seen what the
line is? You want to take a guest, take a guess.
Speaker 1 (53:48):
It's Cowboys minus four and a half in Vegas.
Speaker 2 (53:52):
You still Cowboys minus four and a half.
Speaker 1 (53:54):
Or are they making the Vegas? Are they making the Raiders?
Speaker 2 (53:57):
No, you're close, You're very close. But it was talking
to me somehow. The Cowboys are three and a half
point favorites on the road Monday night in Vegas against
the Raiders.
Speaker 1 (54:09):
I mean a loss against the Cardinals at home.
Speaker 2 (54:11):
Right, That's what I'm saying. How are you three and
a half point favorites with the backup in Make that
make sense? Make that make the slightest bit of sense? Yeah,
you mentioned I mean, if if they don't just look
at the look at the schedule they have left. Okay,
let's play this game that I hate. But we're now
(54:31):
at the point where I feel like we can pretty
confidently say.
Speaker 1 (54:36):
If if, if are you're talking about if like playoffs?
Speaker 2 (54:40):
If?
Speaker 1 (54:41):
No? No? No, Okay, I was like, calm down.
Speaker 2 (54:43):
If they managed to beat the Raiders, that gets them
to four wins, Okay, yeah, tell me when their next
win is, Okay, tell me when Vegas would have them
as the favorite.
Speaker 1 (54:57):
Okay, Okay. So that's the game.
Speaker 2 (55:00):
Raiders Monday Night Favorites. Next week after that, Sunday afternoon
at home.
Speaker 1 (55:07):
Against the Eagles, Dogs. Dogs.
Speaker 2 (55:10):
Next week Thanksgiving against the Chiefs at home.
Speaker 1 (55:15):
That's gonna be like an eight and a half point.
Speaker 2 (55:18):
Buddy, depending on what they If they lose to the Raiders,
that might be an eleven and a half point spread.
Speaker 1 (55:23):
That's like a college spread going against like a Division.
Speaker 2 (55:26):
Four ann playing Sandford, who they're playing in a couple
of weeks Sanford the week after Thanksgiving on the road
in Detroit for a night game, trimetime game.
Speaker 1 (55:41):
Dogs.
Speaker 2 (55:43):
Maybe the following week at home against the Vikings. Still
don't think so.
Speaker 1 (55:51):
JJ is going to get more reps. He's got two
killer weapons. How about the.
Speaker 2 (55:55):
Week after that at home against the Chargers.
Speaker 1 (55:58):
No.
Speaker 2 (55:58):
No. Out of all of those teams we just listed,
the Vikings are the only one that isn't in a playoff.
Speaker 1 (56:06):
So they played Washington again? Is that like they're only
the the.
Speaker 2 (56:08):
Last two games of the season at Washington at New
York Giants day balls out, day ball out.
Speaker 1 (56:16):
Now, I know we're talking cal Are they really gonna
sit Jackson Dart the rest of the season. I mean,
they checked him for a concussion four times, but he
only had like I don't even think he had one
this time. They're just like he's taking a lot of
hits to the hill.
Speaker 2 (56:29):
I was about to say, if I was the Giants,
I would just claim, hey, we don't want our guy
taking multiple risking another concussion.
Speaker 1 (56:37):
Out of them on my fantasy league and my super flexing. Oh,
they're more worried to that boy to cook.
Speaker 2 (56:41):
They're more worried about preserving that draft pick at this
point because.
Speaker 1 (56:45):
They're now, that's a white boy that can dance.
Speaker 2 (56:48):
You see Jackson, Yeah, you see Freddie Freeman's moves when
he did the worm at the World Series. That was shocking.
I didn't I didn't think that was a white boy
with moves.
Speaker 1 (56:58):
But turns out almost forty year old.
Speaker 2 (57:00):
That's correct, Yeah, that's correct. Uh yeah, No, the Cowboys
aren't gonna be favored for after after this game Monday
night in Vegas. They're not gonna be favored for the
next five six weeks. And then you're looking at if
they win this one, say they sneak out two of
(57:21):
these games, it's gonna be a struggle just to have
six wins.
Speaker 1 (57:26):
Which one are they gonna sneak out?
Speaker 2 (57:28):
That's what I'm saying. The only reason.
Speaker 1 (57:32):
Dolphins.
Speaker 2 (57:33):
Dolphins fans did this exact same exercise last week where
they said, like, how are we gonna We're not gonna
squeak out any of these games?
Speaker 1 (57:43):
Buffalo, We're gonna get our Buffalo has been struggling.
Speaker 2 (57:46):
Sure, but have you seen Miami like like that's I
don't think there's any any Miami Dolphins fan out.
Speaker 1 (57:55):
Buffalo was trying to get waddle for Miami. Yeah, they
couldn't get it for basically in the left them.
Speaker 2 (58:03):
Yeah, I I don't know, just looking like I said,
not gonna. I'm gonna save the majority of the Cowboys
talk for Thursday because there's not I mean, there's not
a whole lot to throw out there. Yet also, of
course we're still getting all of the so that they
were all back in the facilities today, I believe. Actually
(58:26):
yesterday they held players uh and players families and coaching
staff and families uh, prayer vigil as a team for
for Marshawn Neeland.
Speaker 1 (58:38):
I had that, you know, outside of all of the
that's that. I mean, that's gotta be tough then it's right.
The only thing I couldn compare it to is old
buddy from Buffalo collapsing on the field and they literally
had to stop the game. Yeah, I know, because you
don't hear twenty four year olds take life at the
(59:01):
beginning of their careers.
Speaker 2 (59:02):
No, and the Cowboys have, you know, they've you know,
when Josh Brent drove drunk and killed teammate Jerry Brown.
Speaker 1 (59:11):
You know, those are.
Speaker 2 (59:14):
In a year where the locker room is already facing
immense pressure from the outside to have a moment like that.
Speaker 1 (59:24):
And they're dismayed because of Micah already.
Speaker 2 (59:27):
Right, That's what I'm saying. And it's the same position.
H you know, there's I at this point, let's just
not have any catastrophic injuries and all try like, can
we put everyone on I R like the Giants are
going to do Jackson.
Speaker 1 (59:43):
Dark, Like, is dak having migraines? Can we put him
on the side sports cave? Fair? Fair? These guys are
paid professional.
Speaker 2 (59:54):
Yeah, I'm just telling you, let's play it out if
you want to play this game where you look at
what they have on the I mean we did it
at the beginning of the season where it was like
they're going to have a good first half the season
and then they're going to come crashing down. Well, they
had a terrible first half the season and now here
comes the crashing down. So they keep their pick this year. Yeah,
(01:00:19):
Next year is the year they have to give the
better of the two picks to the Jets, the better
of the two first round picks between THEIRS and the Packers.
Speaker 1 (01:00:27):
They keep it this year, So.
Speaker 2 (01:00:30):
I wouldn't be surprised if there is some minor tanking
taking place as this thing seems to go down the
gutter the rest of the way. One good piece of news,
Demarvin overshown Chavon Revel officially activated. Revel was the most
(01:00:53):
recent draft pick a third round fell to the third round.
Projected to be a late first the kid out of
East Carolina, uh got injured late in the college year,
wasn't healthy during the draft, and combine all of that,
it looks like he's going to make his season debut
Monday night, along with potentially overshown. But you know, thinking
(01:01:15):
about snap counts and how much those guys are, it's
not going to be an instant impact kind of thing.
But if they can, if they can somehow just win
one and get on a roll.
Speaker 1 (01:01:29):
No, I'm kidding. They got the Raiders, bud, then they're
gonna hit four giants. Yeah, yeah, you're telling me.
Speaker 2 (01:01:38):
Eagles, Chiefs, Lions in three consecutive weeks is a hard schedule.
That's it's not a cakewalk. Yeah, no, it's again. Well,
we'll talk more about the game come Thursday, but I
wanted to make sure we had a little more time
here in the main second, because we got a lot
of football from the past weekend to get to as
(01:01:59):
well as some college football.
Speaker 1 (01:02:02):
Saved some time in the lightning round for it.
Speaker 2 (01:02:04):
So nine oh seven, let's do the main segie, starting
with you won the week you won. It was close,
You won it three to two, which.
Speaker 1 (01:02:15):
Leads us for one. But I forgot that we agreed
on to it.
Speaker 2 (01:02:18):
We agreed on two of them. Yeah, because we couldn't.
I think we both talked ourselves into somehow. The Vikings
JJ looked good last week, you know, the Vikings defense.
Like you could go back and check the tape see
if I counted it wrong.
Speaker 1 (01:02:32):
But I think you're the one with the you're the
one with a book, buddy.
Speaker 2 (01:02:35):
Yeah, I think we So we are both now officially
twenty and twenty overall, we are exactly tied perfect five
hundred through forty games. While we've been picking uh differently
throughout the throughout the run of eight weeks now doing
these picks, if we if we end up getting staying
(01:02:59):
close all the way through the final week of the season,
we're gonna have to come up with some like like
pick one game and it's worth double or something like
that to pot. Yeah, something like that we might have
to if we're still tied or we got time to
think about. We also might have to think about some
kind of repercussions for actually losing this thing. But the
(01:03:24):
one good thing we'll take some chat like guys, whoever
loses this the brainstorming session, That's what I'm talking about.
The best thing about this week. Besides the Cowboys not
playing three teams from the ass category, all on by together, Titans, Bengals, Cowboys,
(01:03:51):
all on by.
Speaker 1 (01:03:53):
The Beingles the Bengals, Joey Burrow is practicing.
Speaker 2 (01:03:59):
Do you is that enough for you to put them
in fringe?
Speaker 1 (01:04:02):
Fringe? Oh yeah, see absolutely? What's there? What's the record
right now?
Speaker 2 (01:04:06):
Same as the Cowboys, besides the tie three and three
and five three and.
Speaker 1 (01:04:11):
See their standings three and six the conference. The Bengals
are eleven at three and six to get in their
two games. Jacksonville and k C are five and four,
So we can go ahead knock k C up there.
I think the BRONC Pittsburgh is gonna come down to earth.
Speaker 2 (01:04:32):
Well, and that's that's what the that's what Cincinnati has
in their favor that the team leading their division is
five and four, the Ravens underperforming four and five, and
they get to play both of those teams again before
the end of the season. So there is a pass
(01:04:53):
division right there is a pathway for them to win
that division. But until I see Joe Burrow actually suiting
back up the.
Speaker 1 (01:05:04):
He's practicing more than Brock.
Speaker 2 (01:05:05):
Pretty the Steelers are in the playoff category. The Ravens
are in the fringe and Bengals are in the ass
with the Cowboys, and so to speak, we'll get the
ass game out of the way since we're talking it.
Jets twenty seven, Browns twenty Did you see any of
the overall stats from this game? Like I normally wouldn't
(01:05:28):
even mention it.
Speaker 1 (01:05:29):
I'm sure I know Bryce Hall went off a little
bit or just had a decent like a good game,
not like a stellar game. But they got fourteen points
immediately off of like turnovers. M hm, that's was it
a block kick or a fumble on the kickoff they had?
So the Jets had two kickoff returns for a touchdown. Yeah,
(01:05:52):
the I was trying to find I didn't have a
fields stats right in front of me. His the fact
that a quarterback won a game you ready for justin
Fields was six of eleven.
Speaker 2 (01:06:08):
Fifty four yards a QBR of fifteen point eight, and
his team won that game. He had one touchdown one interception,
so gross man like, it wasn't like he was a
running thread either. He had seven rushes for twenty eight yards. Yeah,
(01:06:28):
and uh, the Jets still somehow win that. I still
think the Browns out snapped him. They had the third possession.
Speaker 1 (01:06:37):
It was over. It was almost fifteen minutes more. Yeah, yeah,
is it time to see Schodor Sanders come on? Like
Dylan Gabriel. Dylan Gabriel is, who would he seems like
that guy that needs two years on the bench and
then kind of like there's a thrown into the fire.
Speaker 2 (01:06:57):
There was a great line Fran for Scilla, the NBA
college basketball guy, the big, real big on scouting and
big around the draft, when he was talking about a
Brazilian player it was Kubocula Kubacula.
Speaker 1 (01:07:18):
On draft night.
Speaker 2 (01:07:19):
He said, Bruno Kabakula is two years away from being
three years away. It's like, I feel like that might
be where Dylan Gabriel is, Like he said, he's like
he's two years away from being at least a year away,
like right now. It's I think you have to do
math for it to be before start adding it up. Yeah,
(01:07:42):
I know the question two.
Speaker 1 (01:07:43):
Years on the bench, the one year playing where he's
straight ass.
Speaker 2 (01:07:47):
And then maybe that maybe we Yeah, I it does
you bring up the edor angle side of it? It is,
I mean you've seen what Dylan Gabriel has now done
three straight weeks as the starter is that what that
might have even been his fourth game. There's a there's
(01:08:08):
a funny TikTok going around. The roommate showed it to
me where it's like top five worst throws in the
NFL this week and every single week for the last
three weeks, it's just been Brown's quarterback Dylan Gabriel. And
then it shows a play and it's like, okay, yeah,
number two, Brown's quarterback Dylan Gabriel. It's just every week
(01:08:30):
it's top five. From this day, it's some you know,
dejected Browns fan, I think doing the account, but yeah, that's.
Speaker 1 (01:08:38):
How god Instagram where like he sounds like he's breaking
it down man, like I want to like, I don't
like really hyping up other people's shows. But he does
a good job where he's like now looking at his
vision where he keeping it down field, and then he's
still looking down the field, but then all of a sudden,
you see this guy running up behind his vision goes
up as he's getting direcked, as he's getting wrecked, and
(01:08:59):
then he goes back down to the field as he's
like falling baseboard, and then he's looking straight at the ground.
Speaker 2 (01:09:05):
You know, Yeah, I just can't imagine it's as much
as we complain about the cowboys futility over the last
thirty years.
Speaker 1 (01:09:16):
The Brown's got a couple of decades on that.
Speaker 2 (01:09:18):
And that's the only team now that can say who's
had it worse for the last thirty years. It's Cleveland.
They're the only other team now. I think they're the
only other. They're the only team that hasn't been to
a conference championship game longer than Dallas now because we
had Detroit and Washington back to back years, Yeah, break
(01:09:40):
their streak. So I'm pretty sure it's as much as
we like, as much as you clown on an organization
like Jacksonville. Yeah, it's like, dude, Mark Brunette.
Speaker 1 (01:09:48):
Like they had they almost they almost went to the
Super Bowl, right exactly, if it wasn't for Tom Brady
being Tom Brady again. Tom Brady calls, well, yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:09:56):
Minor detail. I know you've got a I know, well,
let's start there. Let's start. We'll start with your niners.
Since the Cowboys were on by.
Speaker 1 (01:10:04):
Dude, it's a win. No one got injured. Okay, we've
hit that mark, We've hit that point. First week, first
week that we had no injuries, it's a win.
Speaker 2 (01:10:18):
It's not even not even a cramp.
Speaker 1 (01:10:22):
I mean we I thought we were gonna have someone.
But even even Kyle Shanahan was like, yeah, this is
the first week practice that we don't have anybody new
on the injury list. I'm gonna wait out the week
before I say anything else. Yeah, give it time.
Speaker 2 (01:10:36):
When we were doing this, when we were picking this
game last week, yeah, and you were like, no, dude,
it's like the Niners injury report is ridiculous. I was like, yeah,
everyone's is. It's that time of the year. And you're like,
have you not looked at it? Like looked like literally
we counted what was it like twenty one names? Yeah,
it was like twenty two twenty one names on their
(01:10:58):
injury report.
Speaker 1 (01:10:59):
Like it's almost the whole start. Like it's just I mean,
we're playing Uphill, We're playing one of the hottest teams
in football that can arguably besides the solid win, I
would say a solid win. When we went to Levi
South in their house, I think that was a solid
mac Jones win. They could be almost undefeated if everything sucks.
(01:11:21):
They only have two losses. And for the way it
started out where everybody's questioning Matt Stafford's back in the preseason,
DeVante Adams, even Puka going out. It's they are all
around threat.
Speaker 2 (01:11:37):
So Vegas agrees with you. Matt Stafford's MVP odds have
skyrocketed over the last ten days and their team Super
Bowl odds. Depending on what book you're getting it from. Yeah,
it's either just the Chiefs that are ahead of them,
or it's them and the Eagles that are tied or
(01:11:57):
within you know, a plus fifty of each other.
Speaker 1 (01:12:00):
Over the past six games, only one quarterback has thrown
twenty touchdowns with almost fifteen hundred yards zero interceptions, and
that's one Matthew Stafford.
Speaker 2 (01:12:12):
It's kind of like he's always been good at quarterback
and he did like how he.
Speaker 1 (01:12:16):
Used to always throw that one pick again, one pick
a game where it's just like he just just like
like when they went to the Super Bowl and won it,
they had to go through us and he threw that
one ball where you're like, what are you doing and
it went into Tart's belly and he dropped it with
(01:12:37):
three minutes left to go. That would have sealed the game.
And that Butterfinger guy. I don't want to go too
far on him, and he just should have went to
the Super Bowl that year. But I digress. I will
say the officiating was horrendous in that one.
Speaker 2 (01:12:55):
Yeah, you mentioned that.
Speaker 1 (01:12:57):
I look it up. I was watching.
Speaker 2 (01:12:59):
I was lowed into red zone.
Speaker 1 (01:13:02):
So we got down twenty one to zero. Like that.
He snapped the game because on the first drive, we
go like it was a clear PI to Jennings on
a just like a seven seven yard n route and
the guy's literally hugging him, bringing him to the ground
(01:13:22):
before the ball even gets to him. Boom. They come. Well,
first they get the ball, they solid drive, they get
their you know, first ten plays scripted just like Shanahan does.
I would say seventy percent of time they're going to
score on that, either a field goal or touchdown. Then
we get the ball and then that happens. We go
(01:13:45):
three and out. Then they come by and score again
on us, and then Jennings gets it punched out when
we're having another solid drive and they come down and
score on that one. So we're already we have to
throw our game plan right out the window. And I'll
give it to Tom Brady. He did say the Niners
are a better football team, and we play from ahead
because we can control it with the run with one
(01:14:06):
arguably one of the best rbs besides Jonathan Taylor right now,
he's killing it in the game. And we can control
the clock, control every aspect. And we had to throw
that whole thing out the window. But then there was
another one where there's an egregious delay a game and
they don't call it on them.
Speaker 2 (01:14:25):
That's I've kind of noticed that the delay of games
have seemingly got like they're letting it because they they
say it hits zero and then they count like an
and count, you know.
Speaker 1 (01:14:37):
Like it's zero and one no zero, and they look
at the ball, right, so that's half a second, right,
so they see zero, and they look at the ball
and they see the ball not moving. You blow the whistle.
Speaker 2 (01:14:51):
And that's what I'm saying. I feel like they split second.
They've gotten more lax on that half a second now
is like a full second. It's like a full count.
Speaker 1 (01:15:00):
There was a Kittle one where he was like he
got a hold which should have been a first down,
which was on third down, fourth down call, and they
said he wasn't set and and everybody they called the
who's the guy that they call with all the Mike Perreira, Yeah,
well he's like, no, I don't even want to talk
(01:15:22):
about that one. He was set out to be set
for a full second. He was like, no, he was set.
Speaker 2 (01:15:28):
I did see I did see that clip of Pereira
basically being like, I don't know what they saw there.
Speaker 1 (01:15:34):
But they did that in the This is where I'm
gonna bring up momentum. They killed our momentum so bad
in the beginning that we had to throw out our
script where they didn't have to do anything else. Later
in the game, Well, hold on, now, what the official
killed your momentum?
Speaker 2 (01:15:51):
Or the turnovers and.
Speaker 1 (01:15:53):
The short fields, the non p I that we go
down fourteen to zero, then on delay a game call,
which was crucial was on the third down that gets
them to fourteen and zero. And then yes, Jenny's did
have the ball punched out. He's got to own that one.
But we're coming back. We outscore him twenty one to
(01:16:14):
seven in the third quarter.
Speaker 2 (01:16:16):
What was the score at half?
Speaker 1 (01:16:18):
Fourteen to twenty one?
Speaker 2 (01:16:20):
Okay, so I thought it was a I was thinking
it was a figure.
Speaker 1 (01:16:23):
It was fourteen to twenty twenty four because they got
a field goal on us, I believe, or they might
know they got to touch because they were just touched
down it. It was fourteen to twenty eight, but we
got the ball at half and mac Jones was moving
the ball like that's the whole thing is we were
moving the ball.
Speaker 2 (01:16:39):
It was twenty one to seven at half.
Speaker 1 (01:16:41):
Yeah, so it was just there was still a chance.
But we're still playing the hottest team in football right now.
Speaker 2 (01:16:49):
Yeah, I've got a fun game for you. So I
told you the Rams have shot up the again for
a refresher. The way I do the call to contenders
are if your Super Bowl odds are less than plus
one thousand. So that's five teams right now, Chiefs, Eagles, Rams, Lions, Bills, Bills.
Speaker 1 (01:17:12):
That's it.
Speaker 2 (01:17:13):
Bills are barely holding on their plus nine point fifty
after the loss to Miami.
Speaker 1 (01:17:18):
So then next category is playoffs.
Speaker 2 (01:17:21):
That's literally self explanatory teams that are in playoff position.
And then fringe and then of course asks I want
to throw two teams at you at a time. Here,
tell me which one you think has higher Super Bowl
odds right now as we sit here. Okay, Colts Seahawks.
Speaker 1 (01:17:41):
Seahawks. Seahawks have passed the Colts after and I don't
think I don't think it's by much. Ravens.
Speaker 2 (01:17:49):
No, it's close, it's close. Ravens Packers.
Speaker 1 (01:17:56):
It's tied.
Speaker 2 (01:17:56):
That was a trick one, but.
Speaker 1 (01:17:58):
Still because the Ravens defense is getting better and we
just have fallen. Dude, where is the Packers offense? That
was a horrible Like I couldn't watch the Monday night game.
I was watching the Spurs game. Oh it was terrible.
Speaker 2 (01:18:10):
Yeah, it was much better the Spurs game, much more inert.
And then when you flip over, all of the action
of the Monday night football game happened after Wemby hit
those two threes anyway, so it was you got all
you needed if you just watched.
Speaker 1 (01:18:24):
The Jordan love your man.
Speaker 2 (01:18:26):
Still Packers fans, how about this one? Packers or Patriots Patriots? Surprisingly,
it's still the Packers. Here's an even good here, but
get ready, Broncos are Patriots.
Speaker 1 (01:18:43):
Oh man, I would even though they're eight and two.
I don't believe in bo Nicks like I do Drake
may Vegas does because that defense, Yeah, last one for you,
and this if you if you can remember the order
that we've done these in. You'll get it.
Speaker 2 (01:19:00):
Uh, Ravens or Patriots, Patriots, Ravens.
Speaker 1 (01:19:05):
Defense, They're they're not letting Lamar Jackson they think. I mean,
I looked at it. It was like one score game.
It was twenty seven to nineteen that they won, so
it was a it was a one score you know, yeah,
like they could have tied it with one score. And
I think there was some controversy on that game too.
Uh who they played against? They played Detroit, the Patriots game.
(01:19:28):
That was Patriots Bucks. I was thinking the Ravens. Oh
that was Ravens Vikings Vikings, Oh yeah, oh. Aaron Jones
started saying that the Ravens were calling out hut and
set and like saying all that defensive.
Speaker 2 (01:19:43):
Game false starts. Yeah, when you have that many, there
might be some smoke, there might be some fire. But
so your team, the Niners, is where the bottom falls out.
So the the Niners are play US thirty five hundred
Super Bowl odds. The next team after y'all, after y'all
(01:20:05):
is the Texans at plus sixty five hundred, so huge,
huge gas.
Speaker 1 (01:20:10):
So what do they have like ten teams in front
of us.
Speaker 2 (01:20:13):
So here's the well, I'll give them to you quickly, Chiefs, Eagles, Rams, Lions, Bills.
That's our contenders category, and then the teams between the
Bills and you the.
Speaker 1 (01:20:23):
Playoff team in the order.
Speaker 2 (01:20:25):
This is Vegas order for Super Bowl odds right now, Seahawks, Colts, Packers,
Ravens who aren't in a playoff position, Broncos, Patriots, Chargers, Buccaneers,
and then Niners.
Speaker 1 (01:20:40):
I love being the underdog. There are some form.
Speaker 2 (01:20:44):
There are some really really interesting super bowls, Like we
are injury decimat Yeah, that's what and that's what Vegas
is Like, this is you win a few games here,
but you're not gonna have.
Speaker 1 (01:20:57):
The firepowers Shanahan. They're like, as long as we have have,
as long as McCaffrey and Nick Bosa are healthy, we're good.
But then He's like, I didn't even think about Fred
Warner because I never think about I just think he's
always always going to be there. He broke with a
broken he played with a broken foot for twelve games
last year.
Speaker 2 (01:21:15):
Yeah, that eventually all those injuries are going.
Speaker 1 (01:21:20):
To that one was just a dislocated ankle, Like, oh no,
I don't mean with him and I mean with you,
with y'all, as with the Niners as a team like that,
Vegas looks at they look at that twenty.
Speaker 2 (01:21:32):
Two person injury report, say this is a healthy h
this is not a top ten odds. Let's burn through
the rest of the games. We'll start with LG.
Speaker 1 (01:21:43):
Do you have that.
Speaker 2 (01:21:46):
That Buffalo Bill's footage I sent you? So everyone knows
Bill's mafia.
Speaker 1 (01:21:51):
It's a thing. They travel in large numbers.
Speaker 2 (01:21:54):
A bunch of white people acting like fools, that's correct,
through jumping off of on breaking table, breaking tables, jumping
off the extravaganza looks fun. I mean again, if you're
born and raised in Buffalo, like, what are you? What
else are you doing besides jumping through tables?
Speaker 1 (01:22:13):
So getting the many of Memphis wrestling matches like the
little small Yeah brothers.
Speaker 2 (01:22:21):
I was about to say, Bushwick Bill, that's a different Yeah,
it's a different backyard.
Speaker 1 (01:22:26):
So, uh, Bill's mafia, we know travels in in large numbers.
Speaker 2 (01:22:32):
And uh they're in Miami this week taking on the
seemingly lifeless Dolphins. So there's a specific bar in Miami
that they go to every time.
Speaker 1 (01:22:49):
Every year. Every year they go to.
Speaker 2 (01:22:51):
Miami and it was a full takeover. Uh yeah, look
at look at the footage here. You can see obviously
you know they're rolling deep to begin with. But when
you go to an oppose like a bar takeover in
an opposing town, this was definitely talked about in Miami's
(01:23:15):
locker room.
Speaker 1 (01:23:16):
There's no question, like Bill's Mafia come into town. They
know they're going exactly exactly, they know exactly what bar
they're going to. No, it's it's passive. Yeah, and they're
on South Beach just uh huh. Everybody can see them.
Because again, if.
Speaker 2 (01:23:34):
You're a Bills fan, like it's it's a vacation to
Miami for the weekend, you know, it's like it's a
good excuse to get out of Buffalo.
Speaker 1 (01:23:41):
In Novembers, so.
Speaker 2 (01:23:45):
As we all know by now, somehow the Dolphins completely
embarrassed the Bills and won that game thirty to thirteen.
Speaker 1 (01:23:55):
One.
Speaker 2 (01:23:58):
Yeah, two hundred twenty something total.
Speaker 1 (01:24:01):
Yards to forty plus or no, actually two fifty plus
touchdown like fifty yard touchdown breaks. And he actually like
this kid is coming in what I think is his
third year. Yeah, so he's got one more year. He's
gonna he wants he's gonna want that money next year
(01:24:23):
because I.
Speaker 2 (01:24:23):
Don't want this offseason.
Speaker 1 (01:24:25):
I put him as a top five running back right now.
Speaker 2 (01:24:27):
That was what I was going to ask coming here.
That was what I was gonna ask where he falls
with a running back position that we don't necessarily I
don't think there's a uniform. If you asked ten people
to list the five best running backs in the league,
I think you'd get ten different lists. You know what
(01:24:48):
I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (01:24:50):
You think so I do? Yeah, Okay, So it's Jonathan Taylor,
Christian McCaffrey, Derrick Henry. But Derek Henry's having a slow year, right,
Sekwon Barkley. So I'm like taking those two. I'm talking
year by year. Okay, So I would say Jonathan Taylor,
Christian McCaffrey, A Chane, uh who else?
Speaker 2 (01:25:15):
I mean, see, now we're getting yeah, and then you're
gonna have some people that are still gonna say Barkley
because it's not it's not Barkley's problem, or still gonna
say Henry.
Speaker 1 (01:25:24):
You know.
Speaker 2 (01:25:24):
Like That's where I say, like, there's not like when
we think of when you think of quarterbacks, there's way
more consensus. Although it's still not one hundred percent consensus.
There's more consensus with quarterbacks rankings than there are uh
than there is with running back rankings. But I I
completely agree with.
Speaker 1 (01:25:41):
There you go. I was like, there's another glaring one. Thanks,
thank you, James.
Speaker 2 (01:25:45):
Yeah, no, the uh, I I completely agree with you though.
I mean a Shane a Chine when he's playing like that,
you know consistently on Sundays.
Speaker 1 (01:25:55):
There's that one. There's one that showed its prowess today
that this weekend that I've been waiting on through for
my fancy.
Speaker 2 (01:26:04):
Oh, you've been right, and just breakout which one?
Speaker 1 (01:26:10):
Henderson?
Speaker 2 (01:26:11):
Oh yeah, he had a big game with the man.
Speaker 1 (01:26:13):
I was like, I've been waiting for Ramad Stevenson to
get hurt so they would have to turn. They have
to turn to the roof. I'm like squirrel, the uh.
Speaker 2 (01:26:24):
Dolphins blow the doors off the bills behind a chain's
big game. After the game, the embattled head coach of
the Miami Dolphins, Mike McDaniel, made a surprise appearance. Buddy
at said, bar, do you have that next picture?
Speaker 1 (01:26:46):
LG, look at that's him, that's him.
Speaker 2 (01:26:51):
Just he drove it, just did a block, did a lap, around.
Speaker 1 (01:26:57):
That's him in the car. He's just got his arm
hanging now, just looking over at him, dude with.
Speaker 2 (01:27:03):
His Miami glasses on, just like he might not be
that great of a coach, but I will always love
the Mike McDaniel experience. Like from Afar, I'm envious. He's
crazy steamer but like and he's a great troll, and
he's vape He's sneaking vapes in on the sideline, Like,
(01:27:24):
I like that guy.
Speaker 1 (01:27:25):
I think.
Speaker 2 (01:27:25):
I think that guy has a lot of fun in life,
and I envy not only the position he holds, but
more the way he goes about his business. Like that
is your team?
Speaker 1 (01:27:36):
What are they now?
Speaker 2 (01:27:37):
Two and seven, three and three and six? Like they're
awful but making sure the Bills.
Speaker 1 (01:27:43):
Fan like celebrating breaking his leg.
Speaker 2 (01:27:46):
Yeah, that's a bad look. That's a bad look for
you elsewhere. Lions forty four, Commanders twenty two. Obviously, the
Lions are the storyline in that game. The Commanders are
without Jade and Daniels the rest of the year.
Speaker 1 (01:28:04):
Was surprised. Yeah, there's not a.
Speaker 2 (01:28:06):
Whole lot of intrigue with that team anymore.
Speaker 1 (01:28:09):
Did you happen? It's almost like when there's a quarter
like a wide receiver controversy the team before the season
and coming up to see like with Terry mccalmas law.
Speaker 2 (01:28:18):
Yeah, the contract, like the teams don't do too good.
It also doesn't help when your quarterback elbow gets bent
the way it.
Speaker 1 (01:28:28):
Should have a problem before that elbow getting bent.
Speaker 2 (01:28:30):
Yeah, but now it's a Now there's no chance that
that problem gets fixed or resolved this year.
Speaker 1 (01:28:37):
There.
Speaker 2 (01:28:39):
Did you see the we're not going to talk about
the the in booth appearance with Jonathan Vilma and uh,
was it Harlan or was it? I don't think it
was Harlan. I think it was uh uh, what's his name?
Who's the the guy that got busted with the Albert?
It was Marv Albert's kid, well, the other Albert.
Speaker 1 (01:29:00):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:29:01):
He was calling the game. They had trump up in
the booth in the third quarter. But did you see
did you see the flyover before the game? Did you
actually see foot Okay, if you didn't see it, look
for fine footage of it after the show. It's the
most absurd because it's Air Force one giant plane doing
(01:29:23):
a flyover right over the stadium. It literally looks it
looks like because it's what do you think, why, because
it's a football game and we need not the president,
he's the commander in chief, homes give me, give me
some footes. I completely agree.
Speaker 1 (01:29:43):
I would give me some of those planes we play
our text money.
Speaker 2 (01:29:46):
Throw a B two bomber across there, or throw whatever
that new plane is that skunk Works just rolled out.
I can't think of the name of it. They're testing
it now. Very exciting. No, it literally looked like AI
just the Giant Air Force one slowly exactly. It was
so great.
Speaker 1 (01:30:05):
It's like the Star Wars mothers.
Speaker 2 (01:30:07):
It looked like the Star.
Speaker 1 (01:30:08):
Wars opening credits. That's exactly what it looked like.
Speaker 2 (01:30:12):
Elsewhere mentioned you know last night that game Eagles and
hold on really and win ten to seven by a.
Speaker 1 (01:30:21):
Block field goal. That's the second game they won, all right,
that's the second game they won by a blockfield goal.
Speaker 2 (01:30:28):
And the field goal would have only tied it. It
wasn't for the win, did you see. Uh So, first
of all, we'll start with the field goal at the end.
I think the Eagles have a point of contention where
they called the timeout well before the ball was snapped,
(01:30:48):
because they had before the final attempt at the field goal.
At the very end, Eagles had a timeout left. They
called a timeout right before he was about to kick it,
right before they were about like everyone does you know
the kicker? Right, But they called it well before the
(01:31:08):
ball was snapped. But the Packers went ahead and snapped
it and their kicker got a practice kick and he's
kicking from sixty four yards. They thought his range would
only be about sixty one. Well what happens, No, he
came up short, so it was Yeah, so it was
a way clearly the Packers were testing because there were
(01:31:29):
five seconds left at this point. And so then after
the timeout the Packers came back. Offense comes back out
and they try to run a quick out to get
a like three because they're like it was I mean
it missed just barely, so like if we could just
get two more yards, Yeah, we now know the exact range.
Our kicker has died. Like I thought that was some
(01:31:50):
serious And for once I defend Sirianni because that's the
whole reason the Eagles call the time out is so
they can't see.
Speaker 1 (01:31:58):
Yeah, there has to be the like I think there
is a penalty, right, Yeah, it's a rule you can't
sit there and get a practice kick blatantly after the whistle,
and it was it's like a delay. I think they
call it like a delay delay game as I think
that should have been called.
Speaker 2 (01:32:12):
But as you said, kick ends up getting blocked anyway,
so it doesn't affect anything.
Speaker 1 (01:32:17):
But did you I didn't watch. I watched about five
man's of that game.
Speaker 2 (01:32:21):
Okay, well then i'll uh the only other real point.
Speaker 1 (01:32:25):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (01:32:25):
First of all, both teams were running the push push
in the first half. Both of them were jumping false starting.
The league just refuses to call that. So it is
what it is at this point. Just know you can
get away with it.
Speaker 1 (01:32:39):
How do they continue not to like it's so obvious,
like everybody's breaking it down, everybody's looking at it.
Speaker 2 (01:32:46):
And Troy even called it in the broadcast where he
was like, you know, I'm not sure what they're seeing
to not like he's like, I can see it. You
see it in real time, you see it with your
first look on the play, and then of course when
you see it in slow motion it looks so much
more egregious.
Speaker 1 (01:33:06):
They're going to do a revote on the Toush push well,
and that would see this offseason and some of those people,
because it was only survived by like what a voter
to vote two votes and you remember that, they're going
to be like, you're not you're not calling anymore. The
team that.
Speaker 2 (01:33:21):
Brought the vote up this past offseason was Green Bay.
Speaker 1 (01:33:26):
So that was why I flipped that one.
Speaker 2 (01:33:28):
Yeah, there was a lot of suggestion that Philly might.
Speaker 1 (01:33:32):
Like whipping the party.
Speaker 2 (01:33:35):
Straight, tush, push three plays in a row on the
first possession or something, just send to send a message
like that. Uh. The only other point from that game though,
the Eagles choosing to go for it on fourth down
in the second to last possession of the game, which
gave the Packers. I mean, it's one of those deals
(01:33:56):
where you make if you get the first down obvious,
the game's over and there's no second guessing anything. But
when I think it was like fourth and six maybe,
and they end up throwing a thirty yard pass down
the field, and it's like that probably wasn't the best
decision making, but nonetheless they survive win ten to seven.
Speaker 1 (01:34:20):
The Chiefs.
Speaker 2 (01:34:22):
Chiefs the only other contender. They were on a bye
this week, so playoff category. The last time we were
in the room Thursday night, there was a football game
where there were more penalties called than first downs. So
we will just mention that the Broncos won that game
ten to seven over the Raiders.
Speaker 1 (01:34:44):
Again, and they're ranked higher than the Niner. The Broncos
are the most their defense. What was the team was it?
It might have been the Broncos, Yeah, because they won
the Super Bowl where it's like Peyton Manny couldn't throw
it twenty yards down the field.
Speaker 2 (01:34:57):
Yeah, his shoulder was shot. But that defense Von Miller back.
Speaker 1 (01:35:02):
Then Baltimore back in the day, defense one with dilferd.
Speaker 2 (01:35:07):
Oh god, yeah, or even Brad Johnson Tampa Bay with
Warren Sap. The next game in the playoff category, Colts
overtime victory over the Falcons thirty one to twenty five.
This was your Berlin game nine to thirty Sunday morning kickoff, LGD.
(01:35:31):
You happen to have those last two images I sent you.
I sent them a little late. I know I broke
your rule, but I had it on I let the
record show I had it on the run sheet. I
just forgot to send them. So they played in.
Speaker 1 (01:35:47):
Oh in my fifth just because I'm add my fifth
running back b Jehan Robinson.
Speaker 2 (01:35:54):
How's that? How was he your fifth running ball? I
would put, oh, oh, you mean again, yeah, top five
in my book this is But you've listed nine people.
Speaker 1 (01:36:04):
I mean no, I'm saying everybody is performing good this year.
Those are the top five.
Speaker 2 (01:36:08):
And again I think if you ask nine other people,
you're gonna get nine. So they played the Berlin game
in the same stadium where Jesse Owens won his won
one hundred meters dash in the Olympics. What was that
nineteen thirty two? I think as you were starting to
have the uprising of a certain political movement in Germany.
(01:36:31):
So this is what the stadium looked like Sunday morning.
You'll see this is the Colts half of the stadium.
This is where they have their tunnel back to the
locker room. This is where they run out of It's
all decked in Colts gear. I mean a true.
Speaker 1 (01:36:46):
So the Germans are adopting the Colts as their team,
as London is with the Jaguars.
Speaker 2 (01:36:53):
I saw is there any specific German connection between Indianapolis
and I don't know because I saw, uh, this is
your team. Now I was about to say, just I
saw Ursey's daughter the new owner that wears the headset
on the sideline she was buying. She was covering rounds
(01:37:14):
at different bars in Berlin. They were having Oh I
love how she's like real active, and oh she's great,
so gives me gives me a not sir, least there
was a something about Mary Girl and any given Sunday,
Oh Cameron Diaz, it gives me more major league vibes.
So this was the Colts walkout tunnel, right, Yeah, this
(01:37:39):
is what that tunnel looked like in nineteen thirty two.
Speaker 1 (01:37:44):
No overhang, no no.
Speaker 2 (01:37:46):
And there's there's a pretty nice perch for viewing the
festivities of the Olympics there, and maybe maybe one where
a Chancellor of Germany might sit to watch German athletes
get beaten by Jesse Owens.
Speaker 1 (01:38:04):
Yeah, it's just I don't think he was bowed like
our president.
Speaker 2 (01:38:08):
It's just it's one of those it's one of those reminders.
First of all, German engineering. That stadium is still in
the exact same condition. It didn't the bombing of Berlin
or they rebuilt it brick for brick. Secondly, it wasn't
that long ago that a black American was showing the
(01:38:30):
Master Race of Germans that they weren't the fastest and
most athletic people in the world. And it was literally
viewed by Hitler from that perch right there where Sunday
morning it was all decorated in Colts gear and the
Colts are running out to play an NFL game. That
is the definition of winning the war.
Speaker 1 (01:38:52):
That is that is America.
Speaker 2 (01:38:55):
That's exactly right, exactly right.
Speaker 1 (01:38:59):
And last year it.
Speaker 2 (01:39:00):
Seems like they're doing this. It's Veterans Day games in
Germany back to back years.
Speaker 1 (01:39:05):
Now.
Speaker 2 (01:39:06):
We had it last year, too little a little thumb
in your eyes. I'm telling you there's something there. There's
definitely something. Definitely, of course I think so.
Speaker 1 (01:39:16):
And then like, well Taylor puts up almost over three
hundred net yards.
Speaker 2 (01:39:21):
Yeah, three touchdowns, all right, yeah, uh yeah, I dude,
if I know, the MVP is a quarterbacks, you know,
award and offense, that's gonna be hard not to give
it to a quarterback.
Speaker 3 (01:39:36):
Man like that.
Speaker 1 (01:39:37):
Dude is killing it. He's eighteen games, he might break
some records, you know.
Speaker 2 (01:39:43):
Yeah, And you know, just the fact that the Colts,
you know, at the beginning, everyone was enamored with Indiana Jones.
The Daniel Jones comeback season, all of that, sure, and
the Colts are still in a playoffspot. Present for you,
oh god, I need that. We need that as an
out of context drop. But it's Jonathan Taylor that's driving
(01:40:07):
this Colt resurgence and and however far this Colts team goes,
I think will depend more on what he.
Speaker 1 (01:40:15):
Does not I'm gonna spin it on you now, is
it Jonathan Taylor dictating the game or is it the
threat of Daniel Jones in the beginning of the year
that's breaking out Jonathan Taylor's game.
Speaker 2 (01:40:28):
See I would I would say you're onto something, but
flip it. I think it's what was allowing Daniel Jones
to have as much success earlier in the year was
the hyper focus on h Taylor. And then as teams
are like, oh crap, he's having a career year revival,
you know.
Speaker 1 (01:40:48):
Exactly.
Speaker 2 (01:40:49):
So then I sacked it twelve times a game, So
we've got to make that our main focus. And then
that I think that allows Daniel Jones some room because
if you look at the stats, it's think outside of
a two or three games, it's not like Daniel Jones
is lighting it up, not anymore. That's what I'm saying,
Like early in the year that was the case for sure.
Speaker 1 (01:41:10):
Is Anthony Richardson the next Taysom Hill.
Speaker 2 (01:41:14):
I think it'd be a hell of a weapon.
Speaker 1 (01:41:17):
It's a hell of I mean, Taysom Hill got a
like what a thirty eight million dollar contract.
Speaker 2 (01:41:22):
I think I think Anthony Richardson is probably more likely
the next Marcus Mariota.
Speaker 1 (01:41:27):
Like if he can, he's gonna be Mariota can throw
the ball a little not I mean, I'm not saying
I said a little, say a lot.
Speaker 2 (01:41:36):
I just mean a former top ten pick who really
was only ever going to be a career back up.
Speaker 1 (01:41:41):
Yeah, but great commercials by the way, Yeah those are
those aren't bad?
Speaker 2 (01:41:46):
Elsewhere in the playoffs category a game that you picked
correctly and I did not. Patriots travel to Tampa Bay.
They win that game twenty eight to twenty three over
the bunch in. Pats are good.
Speaker 1 (01:42:02):
Pats are good. Dude. Rabel is a hell of a coach. Yeah,
you know, he's just I mean, he took Tennessee to
the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (01:42:10):
They have their quarterback, they have they had Yeah that's
even more insane.
Speaker 1 (01:42:16):
But he had King Henry with them a young King Henry,
but like he had that defense was humming underneath him.
Their defense is humming. They even gave us the Niners
uh a second round well it was a late first
round pick or something. Uh. That's one of that's on
our defensive lineman because they're so deep.
Speaker 2 (01:42:38):
Of the eight and two teams in the AFC, Colts, Broncos, Patriots,
which one do you feel the best about? Probably the Patriots, right, Patriots,
like probably because of the quarterback Drake May and.
Speaker 1 (01:42:53):
I guarantee man, like they cannot even if ver Mad
Stevenson comes back healthy, he's got he can't be out
touching Trevion Now. He showed his speed, he showed his
like you give him a crease, he's gone, you know,
like it's just.
Speaker 2 (01:43:13):
Still work with the one two punch, but the punchers
have shift.
Speaker 1 (01:43:17):
But he also showed he gets you those those He's like,
hey man, I can still get you three yards a clip.
You know you're you're gonna be second and long, like
if you make run it two times in a row,
like it's gonna be third and third and five or
third and four. So he's still got the Remad Stevenson.
I mean he's gonna be a powerback, goal line back,
(01:43:37):
but you gotta like you got to run him a
lot because he can literally change the outcome of games
and break off a fifty yard touchdown.
Speaker 2 (01:43:46):
The AFC is so weird right now? Those are your
top three seeds.
Speaker 1 (01:43:50):
Cold did you like that last run where he's looking
over to the sideline being like down down school. It's like,
how deflating on a defense when the guy is running
and he's just starting to jog to the end zone
and there's still the safeties are just going at him
(01:44:10):
and he's sitting there talking to his coach like what
do you want me to do?
Speaker 2 (01:44:13):
It reminds me I play my little brother in Madden
growing up, and I would run and then run all
the way down just playing with them. The worst thing
about this game though, it was a noon kickoff, but
we were forced to have Nance and Romo jam down.
Speaker 1 (01:44:35):
Voice.
Speaker 2 (01:44:36):
Romo had a couple of moments where he was Romo
Noster Damis again. He had a couple of where he
accurately predicted, which also meant he probably had a producer
in his ear telling.
Speaker 1 (01:44:49):
Me, good quarterback. Yeah, just didn't have that mamba mentality.
Speaker 2 (01:44:54):
It's been enough years removed now though, where understanding some
of the calls and like the termin and the offenses
has changed. Now he's far enough away from the game.
It's not like early in the first couple of years
of broadcasting. Yeah, Romo was so good at predicting it
because he knew every offense in the league and he
(01:45:14):
knew their terminology because he had just been playing.
Speaker 1 (01:45:17):
He had just been Let me think of this, why
did Peyton Manning never become a broadcaster?
Speaker 2 (01:45:23):
What do you mean Manning caster was like Shane was
on it. I mean, they couldn't kick him off.
Speaker 1 (01:45:29):
He just stayed here there was a broadcaster because he
was just like Romo, where he's like, you gotta do this,
you gotta do it. Like he's like sitting there calling
the game. But he has his brother Eli to counteract
to make fun of him, because they have you know,
their brothers, They have that to counteract on it, and
Romo doesn't.
Speaker 2 (01:45:47):
Nance isn't the guy to counteract. And tell me if
you think Nance got what Romo was trying to do?
Speaker 1 (01:45:54):
Here, do you have this one?
Speaker 2 (01:45:55):
LG. This This was one of the biggest stretches I've
heard from an announcer it like it's it's like everyone,
every announcer now is trying to squeeze into a stupid
six seven joke and then they all just sit back
and laugh about it. Romo did that Sunday afternoon, not
(01:46:16):
with six seven, but with another I mean internet slang
from God probably, I mean from when I was in
high school, like twenty year old reference to make it
seem like it means something else and nance completely completely
(01:46:36):
missing the point. How are we looking?
Speaker 1 (01:46:41):
There? We go, This team is d t F gym.
If you get well, get that, it's not.
Speaker 2 (01:46:53):
It's we still got messed this, So you have to
display Jail's toughness and they finish.
Speaker 1 (01:47:05):
That's not not occurrent.
Speaker 2 (01:47:06):
That's sounds very close to what Rapol tells him to.
Speaker 1 (01:47:10):
He says, yeah, if I think the team might be
technique for him, but it's all it's all good. Here's
a fundamentally sound This team is d t F Jim
Patriots details toughness, and they finish a jersey shortest.
Speaker 2 (01:47:27):
Jersey short, so bad, so bad, and the way he
was so proud of himself.
Speaker 1 (01:47:32):
This team's d t F Jim Jim, Hey, Jim, I said,
DTF you get it.
Speaker 2 (01:47:38):
You get it.
Speaker 1 (01:47:39):
You get to do the old man, you dirty old
notice and fundamentals.
Speaker 2 (01:47:45):
You could hear the you could hear Nance's wheels were
a little shot off though, because.
Speaker 1 (01:47:50):
He was like, wait, that's so stupid, Like I don't
know if Nancy was Nance, Avid Jersey shore watcher, I
don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:47:58):
I would I would go out on the smallest limb
of the tree and say, no, I don't think Nance
has seen second.
Speaker 1 (01:48:05):
They are getting snookied. Now.
Speaker 2 (01:48:08):
That would have shot my wheels off if Nance said
actually responded in kind. Elsewhere did you see the end
of that Texans Jags game?
Speaker 1 (01:48:18):
Not like if it was a noon game. I didn't
see the end of any of.
Speaker 2 (01:48:21):
That like that. Davis Mills leads the comeback because you
know CJ. Stroud concussion protocol from last week. Davis Mills
leads the comeback, scrambles for the game winning well, scrambles
for a touchdown that gave them the lead. I think
the spread, we didn't pick it. The spread on this
(01:48:41):
game was like Texans minus two and a half or three,
somewhere between two and a half and four and a
half points. It was somewhere right there. Davis Mills scrambles.
They scored the touchdown, don't get the two point conversion,
so they're up thirty to twenty nine over Jacksonville. Jacksonville
gets the ball that Trevor Lawrence intercepted or fumbled. I
(01:49:06):
can't remember which one it was, but it was a
thick six. It went to a big defensive lineman who
returned it for a touchdown. No, it's a thick six
when it's done by a fat boy. When it's done
by a defensive lineman, it's a thick six. Keep up homes,
come on, it's DTF defense, toughness and finishing.
Speaker 1 (01:49:31):
Boomia loves him some thick sixes.
Speaker 2 (01:49:33):
Yeah, that's that's San Antonio is.
Speaker 1 (01:49:39):
Thick six. I never heard that.
Speaker 2 (01:49:42):
I was like, okay, so then it was it was
a pick then because it was a thick six, it
was a big boy. But most importantly, despite you being
ten years behind announcer terms the score, he scored a
touchdown right his time, I'm expired, so they didn't have
to kick the extra point or anything. The game was over.
(01:50:04):
That was the Texans covering just all time.
Speaker 1 (01:50:09):
Bad beat uh oh, prop bets going down. Yeah, some classe.
Speaker 2 (01:50:15):
Actually, I was about to say, I got that in
the lightning round elsewhere. NFC West matchup, Seahawks continue to roll.
All that good, all that good tape the Cardinals put
out on film last week didn't mean that that ha.
The halftime scored what was it, thirty eight to seven?
Speaker 1 (01:50:33):
Yeah, they got They scored faster on the Cardinals than
the Rams did on the Niners.
Speaker 2 (01:50:38):
Good old DeMarcus Lawrence had two touchdowns in the first half.
Speaker 1 (01:50:42):
That defense is scary.
Speaker 2 (01:50:43):
Do you know how any touchdowns CD has on the season?
Two as many as DeMarcus Lawrence. Oh God, that's fun,
isn't it.
Speaker 1 (01:50:54):
He was hurt.
Speaker 2 (01:50:54):
I saw that floating around.
Speaker 1 (01:50:56):
It doesn't matter.
Speaker 2 (01:50:57):
You should have more than DeMarcus Lawrence in week to
yeh if he's played one game.
Speaker 1 (01:51:01):
You know, the last game of the Niner season, Seattle Seahawks. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:51:08):
The NFC West is I think it's gonna come down. Yes,
I think that's potentially a wild card spot.
Speaker 1 (01:51:14):
I hope, I hope we both have enough wins to
where we easily go into the playoffs and we're like, hey,
let's just rest our teams. Nah, it doesn't. It doesn't
look like it's shaping up that well, actually you have.
We might have three NFC West teams in the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (01:51:30):
There's a good chance Carolina falling off helps your case there.
Chicago winning though, does Carolina's NFC the AFC, Oh, there
is NFC Jacksonville AFC. Thinking about some of those other
teams that are on the bubble.
Speaker 1 (01:51:45):
And we have we have an easy schedule, like the
only ones that Indianapolis Seahawks, and I think there's one
that's it could go either way because if I count
those as two losses, sure, you know, like we could
end ten in like a in.
Speaker 2 (01:52:00):
Six uh elsewhere Sunday night, Chargers beat the Steelers twenty
five to ten. Ste I don't I still don't trust Rodgers.
Speaker 1 (01:52:12):
Aaron Rodgers is just you're old man. Yeah, you're old.
Speaker 2 (01:52:16):
Did you see the still shot.
Speaker 1 (01:52:18):
You weren't good last year? Well, not good this year.
Speaker 2 (01:52:21):
Last year he had no tendons. Last year he ran
onto the field on September eleventh, then snapped his achilles.
Speaker 1 (01:52:29):
No, that was the year before. That was two years ago. Yeah,
that was the first because he was in jet up
for the Jets for two years. The first year he
got he snapped his achilles. I think so check it.
I'm gonna win this bet.
Speaker 2 (01:52:44):
What do you do.
Speaker 1 (01:52:45):
I'm gonna win this beat because I went heavy with
Garrett Wilson, Breese Hall.
Speaker 2 (01:52:48):
And.
Speaker 1 (01:52:50):
Aaron Rodgers two years ago on my fantasy team. Man,
if that's the case, okay, yeah, god man, I oh
tell me that.
Speaker 4 (01:53:00):
Three words I love to hear. I had completely were out.
You were right, I mean, he wasn't terrible, he was asked.
Speaker 2 (01:53:13):
Yeah, he's also an Oh actually I remember that now
because they played the game in London and he had
he was bitching about having to travel. Yeah, okay, yeah, yeah.
It was like he was disgruntled the last half of
the year. God, it just feels like the injury was
all I remember about his.
Speaker 1 (01:53:30):
Jet because there was so much hype on it because they.
Speaker 2 (01:53:32):
Running out with the flag on nine to eleven.
Speaker 1 (01:53:34):
Yeah, injury. Garrett Wilson's second year and now he's on
the Steelers, and they looked stellared together in the preseason,
like they had a connection. Breest Hall was rookie year.
He was like they drafted him in the first round
and everybody was hype saying like this is going to become, uh,
you know, just an offensive explosion.
Speaker 2 (01:53:54):
But only other games left fringe games. Giant blow another
double digit second half lead, leading to Brian Dabole paying
with his job. He is out as head coach of
the Giants. But more importantly, the Bears are in a
playoff position right now. They are. Not only are they
(01:54:17):
ahead of the Niners, the Bears are also now ahead
of the Packers in the NFC North. There's seven seven
and three, six and three yeah, six, oh yeah, because
they have bye week six and three only two we
get a bye week and they're.
Speaker 1 (01:54:31):
Tied with the fourteen. Like, why are you doing this
to us, the most injury riddle team and you're gonna
give us the latest bye week possible.
Speaker 2 (01:54:39):
Well, it feels like there would have been no way.
It's not like you bye weeks are determined when there
was no idea. I guess if you're saying the history
of being injury riddle, yes, oh okay, I guess that's
there's a history here. We we mentioned Ravens over Vikes.
They win that one twenty seven to nineteen, and then
(01:54:59):
the Tyler Shuck Show.
Speaker 1 (01:55:04):
They won that. I know the Panthers, the Panthers. Being
a Panthers fan right now, I don't know. Just enjoy
Rico Daddles Dadwell's celebration thing because he did no pumps,
no pumps, as well as Aaron Jones. Is that the
other one? They both did it like Simon Taylor's like
(01:55:26):
old Buddy on Red Zone had had fun with that one.
Speaker 2 (01:55:29):
The Panthers could have been six and four if they
had just beaten the Saints, then they'd be if they
had gone Here's here's why it's that's such a bad
loss for Carolina, not only because it's New Orleans, not
only because it's a division game. But if they had
won that game, they'd be tied with your Niners as
(01:55:49):
the first team out of a playoff spot. But more importantly,
they would have a full two game lead over the Vikings,
who are the third team out of a playoff spot.
So instead of moving up into a class in the
standings with the Niners, that they fall back closer to
the Vikings now than they are the Niners. So I
(01:56:12):
think the Bears one is the like Caleb Williams quarterback
rating in the fourth quarter, their offensive rating in the
fourth quarter versus the I think I saw their like
eighteenth in the league through the first three quarters and
then they're like seventh, Well they played in the fourth quarter. No, sure, sure,
(01:56:34):
but it's not just one game. This is now a
trend for Chicago at ninety six and four.
Speaker 1 (01:56:39):
The Giants sixth and ninety seven chance to win on
the ESPN calculator with like three minutes or four minutes
to go in the fourth quarter. Yeah, that's ninety chance.
And that's the third double digit fourth quarter lead. I mean,
none of them are as bad as the Denver game. Yeah,
(01:57:01):
that one's just ridiculous.
Speaker 2 (01:57:03):
So, as I said at the top, you won the
week three to two. We are tied at twenty. We
will do our NFL Week eleven picks come Thursday night.
But it's time for some lightning round. Let's close it
out here. I'll start with so I'm gonna we're gonna
close lightning round with some Nico thoughts and Nico Harrison
(01:57:27):
finally getting fired by the MAVs.
Speaker 1 (01:57:28):
But let's start with happier thoughts that are Dallas related.
Speaker 2 (01:57:32):
My boy Darryl Razor Ray, the Stars color commentator, long time,
the first voice that I associate with hockey as a kid.
When when the Stars came to Texas, he was listening
to him on WBAP eight twenty up there when they
were still on eight twenty listening on the radio during
(01:57:55):
a boy scout camping trips. He was they the Hockey
Hall of Fame ceremony over the weekend. Their whole new
class went in, Joe Thornton, Zidanochara, a couple other guys,
a couple other players that were you know from this, uh,
this kind of most recent generation, but Razor Hockey. That's right.
(01:58:18):
Razor won the Foster Hewitt Memorial Award, which involves meaning
he's he's now in the Hall of Fame as a broadcaster.
And for those that don't know hockey, I had to
look it up too, because I was like, Foster Hewitt,
who the hell is up? He did Hockey Night in
Canada for forty years, so he's basically like their you know,
(01:58:43):
Pat summer All or John Madden exactly. Yeah, I mean
that's that is who most Canadians associate the voice of
hockey in Canada. Uh to Foster Hewitt and Razors speech.
I won't bogg you down with any of the clips
of it. You could tell how much it meant to him,
(01:59:03):
like to receive that award from obviously an idol of his.
So we have more Dallas Stars representation in the NHL
Hall of Fame. Always a good thing. Hit me LG
now if they can just win.
Speaker 1 (01:59:17):
Some games, if you want to load up that video,
I guess in Germany the Germans, how can you not
love this team as going from the whipping Boy post
Luck era to now taking Danny Dimes and turning them
into Indiana Jones. And their defense is coming through with
(01:59:43):
stellar one of the most stellar dance moves I've seen
in years. It takes me back. Let's see upfront had
been causing them issues in the run.
Speaker 2 (01:59:54):
I don't know where the communication problem was there, causing
them issues in the run and pass.
Speaker 1 (02:00:03):
They practiced, they knew they were gonna get turnover and
they're like, we're gonna hit you with some Drew Hill.
And then on offensive side, you have this craze maniac.
If you can load up that picture leading the team,
A good look at his eyes. This leaks got his
(02:00:26):
mouth busted over all bloody, one eye going to the right,
one eye staring directly at the defense.
Speaker 2 (02:00:34):
He looks like a character from water Boy. He looks
like some like one of the crazy Cajuns or what
he really looks like. He's got Joey gallow eyes where
the eyes are so close.
Speaker 1 (02:00:45):
To close together, but then he's just one crooked, crooked
ass eye. That man is leading your team.
Speaker 2 (02:00:52):
You're not wrong, though, what quarterback is held in like
Andrew luck Is.
Speaker 1 (02:01:00):
I'm gonna get a T shirt of that right there.
Speaker 2 (02:01:03):
You should have that, just like just like Andrew luck
is the you know there was Peyton then Andrew, Yeah,
and now like is Daniel Jones seriously the third most
embraced quarterback in Cult's history over the last twenty years.
I mean, who else would it be? Who are we missing?
(02:01:24):
They were in quarterback purgatory? Yeah, like that one.
Speaker 1 (02:01:30):
Just that I saw that picture and I was just like,
I couldn't stop staring at it for like five minutes. Yeah,
that's like this guy is insane. Those eyes. If someone
came running up to me and was with his mouth
bloody staring at me like that, I'm clinching my buttthole
a little bit. Yeah, Okay, you broke FCC. What how
(02:01:52):
did you break FCC?
Speaker 2 (02:01:53):
The hole?
Speaker 1 (02:01:55):
No, that means I'm scared, right, I'm scared.
Speaker 2 (02:01:58):
It's not a description.
Speaker 1 (02:01:59):
I'm not scared of maybe.
Speaker 2 (02:02:01):
No, now you're making it worse. You just can't say
it to begin with. You could say be hole, or
you could say clinch.
Speaker 1 (02:02:08):
Okay, b hole. Yeah they clinching the sphincter. See, because
that's medical. Alright, all right, hit me LG. You can
say bitch, but you can't say b hole.
Speaker 2 (02:02:20):
It's very confusing. The moral rules we live by make
no sense whatsoever. Uh let's burn through some college football
real quick here, because really at this point it's it's
setting games being set up to mean something. In a
couple of weeks.
Speaker 1 (02:02:39):
This last week there wasn't a fel like they're mailing,
except for a few big games, of course, the Michigan
Ohio State A.
Speaker 2 (02:02:46):
And M A and m Texas uh Bama OU this weekend.
We'll talk about it on Thursday. The biggest game of
the week was the Tech BYU game, and Tech made
sure that was not a contest.
Speaker 1 (02:03:00):
They're showing the Arizona State was a fluke. Yeah, sorry, Lonnie,
but it was the I think more importantly, or oddly weirdly,
Tech is a defensive school, like Tech is a top
ten defense and not a top ten offense, which is
so weird to think about because they're number six in
(02:03:20):
the college football playoff rankings that came out tonight. They
are like, more times than not, I haven't seen anybody
score over twenty points on them.
Speaker 2 (02:03:28):
You know, not ten points and BYU could only get seven,
and that seven was a struggle to get anywhere close
to scoring.
Speaker 1 (02:03:37):
The next big game I would have was the Oregon
Iowa game.
Speaker 2 (02:03:41):
That was a I said, I thought that was going
to be more of a more of a fight Iowa
at home in bad weather, and.
Speaker 1 (02:03:49):
You're correct, sir, that was offensivey. Oregon tops Iowa eighteen
to sixteen.
Speaker 2 (02:03:54):
And it took a late, last second field goal to
squeak that one out. The only other ranked mat was
the Aggies controlling dominating on the road in the area No,
and Missouri was having to start a true freshman quarterback
who you know they lost their starting quarterback to injury.
So that game was I had much more faith that
(02:04:16):
Iowa would beat Oregon than I did Missouri would beat
A and M.
Speaker 1 (02:04:21):
Now the surprising game was Indiana versus Penn State.
Speaker 2 (02:04:26):
That catch was insane, that was nasty, and it would
have counted in the league.
Speaker 1 (02:04:30):
He got to Yeah, I'm like falling. It almost looked
like that foot came down so fast at the end
before he touched out of bounds with his arm, it
looked like his whole body was inverted.
Speaker 2 (02:04:45):
Yeah, like he the way he was able to bend
to get his feet down while his body and momentum
were carrying him out of the back of the end zone.
Speaker 1 (02:04:53):
You can't teach that. That's just instinct. That's just God
given abilities right there.
Speaker 2 (02:04:58):
Yeah, and more important, only it saved Indiana from falling
down the rankings. It wouldn't have killed their season with
one loss because the.
Speaker 1 (02:05:06):
Day that makes you think Indiana is not as big
of a threat as you think. But because Penn State
was ranked number two, No.
Speaker 2 (02:05:13):
I think and and it was. It was on the road,
it was in it was in Beaver Stadium. It I
think Indiana is forget the name of that stadium. It's spectacular,
isn't it. So Indiana wins twenty seven to twenty four
in that game. I think the the thing about Indiana,
do I think Do I think right now Indiana is
(02:05:36):
better than A and M. Do I think Indiana is
better than Bama? Do I think Indiana is better than Georgia,
I probably say no. I think the bigger question is
who's better Indiana or Texas Tech. And even then I
think I think all those are fights, see, and that's
it's not Indiana.
Speaker 1 (02:05:54):
Like I'm picking Indiana on all of them, right, That's
what I'm gonna say, Like those are all coin flips
to and to me, that's what I mean.
Speaker 2 (02:06:01):
Outside of Ohio State clearly number one teams number two
through twelve, of whoever makes the final playoff bracket, I
think we're gonna have some serious dog fights in the
early rounds because I don't think there's any separation really
from any of those teams. Also, the win by Indiana,
(02:06:21):
get this, they before that game, they had the most
all time losses in college football history of any team ever.
Ever they won, and I think it was is Northwest.
(02:06:42):
Someone else lost and that pushed them now past Indiana.
So Indiana only has the second most losses in college
football history. I mentioned Ohio State. They handle Purdue. Bama
struggled at times in that LSU game, but.
Speaker 1 (02:06:59):
It seem like it should have been a blowout, but
it was.
Speaker 2 (02:07:01):
Exactly LSU couldn't ever do anything to put up a
real challenge, Georgia handles Mississippi State on the road, Georgia
of course getting ready for that Texas game this week,
and then really I was hoping the Citadel. Yeah, it's
that point. This is the last year of SEC play
(02:07:23):
where these teams get to play a cupcake at the
end of the season, because they're switching to a nine
game conference schedule, so that will replace these games. Like
I think it's Alabama playing Sandford, like I said earlier,
Maybe it's Georgia one of them, or no, it's A
and M.
Speaker 1 (02:07:42):
I think it is. That's why I've been here in
the petition, like why is Texas going to play Ohio
State next year? You're starting to get some of that
buzz like like why are we going to give them? Like, yeah,
everybody wants to see that game, but no one's going
to play another ranked like a big school on a No,
because because I'm already playing if we're in the SEC,
(02:08:04):
if I'm big ten, I'm gonna be playing tough opponents,
especially the SEC.
Speaker 2 (02:08:09):
It's hard to argue against. It's hard to argue against
the logic there. It sucks because it means potentially we're
not gonna have better games. We're not gonna have any
good non conference game. Notre Dame blows the doors off Navy.
I was hoping Navy could do something there. Uh, and
then I should mention a couple more. Vanderbilt squeaked out,
(02:08:30):
came back, came from behind, beats Auburn in overtime. But
more importantly, the Big twelve is so clearly better than
the ACC. Now it's not even close. Case in point,
Virginia loses to Wake Forest, Virginia was number fourteen. Louisville
loses to Cal in overtime. Louisville was number sixteen, which
(02:08:51):
means your Miami Hurricanes would be back in the college
football playoff right now for winning the ACC. There the
highest ranked ACC team, So you might get your wish
that college football is better off. We might get a
Catholics versus Convicts first round matchup.
Speaker 1 (02:09:09):
I also think Beck you know he's been to the playoffs.
You know he's got the experience. So I think they
can make They can be the Cinderella if they make it.
Speaker 2 (02:09:20):
Yeah, I mean again, I think this is good year.
Speaker 1 (02:09:22):
Michael Irving on the sideline, that's my favorite. Hit me LG.
All right, we're gonna do some fans Sports Game Live
Fantasy football recap.
Speaker 2 (02:09:35):
Yeah, let me know how I did this week.
Speaker 1 (02:09:37):
Oh buddy, you had a tough matchup. Let's see, we
are going to all matchups and last week ten boys.
We only have four more weeks until the playoffs. Four
games left, so let's start off with I see what
(02:09:59):
the mentor Momentumers did by putting Spurs Jesus on there.
But remember when I said he's a jinx. You got creamed? Sir?
Was that who you played? Yes, we're talking, Oh Greg,
I'm sorry, but I had to put a buck fifty
three on you to your one oh two. The moment
the Captain's coming back, Baby Lamb is coming back. How
(02:10:23):
many teams make the playoffs? Six first two get by six?
Six teams first two get byes, and.
Speaker 2 (02:10:31):
It's going to be a fight for those other five
playoff spots.
Speaker 1 (02:10:35):
Eightolf Oliver Bush came in hot on King Henry and
shaved him down one thirty seven to eighty five. And
then we got the Pumas uh and Zeb's team I
like to just put you can just call it. Cham
In Bal pulled off a crazy come from behind win
(02:10:57):
against the number two rank wild card was actually I
normally joke.
Speaker 2 (02:11:02):
I thought you're gonna lose that one. I did too,
and I was following it along. I was even talking
to Zeb a little bit like a dude, how we
might I think we might pull this off.
Speaker 1 (02:11:11):
Oh, Jalen Hurts got some who did he have on
the Monday night game?
Speaker 2 (02:11:18):
Oh, by the time we got to Monday night, we
didn't need as much.
Speaker 1 (02:11:22):
You didn't need as much. Jalen Hurts just yeah, so one, Well,
it was a tight game one one thirty seven. You
guys are the by far the favorites going in to
get some bye week action. Dude your bow. You are
seven and three. Lannie is six and four. I'm five
and five coming back from all my injury ridden. And
(02:11:44):
if Traveon Henderson becomes the starter, watch out.
Speaker 2 (02:11:48):
It feels like there's some other six and four teams though.
Speaker 1 (02:11:51):
Y Overlord, stick it, stick it to Tulsa State Fair
and say chat to to Patizzel is here to stay
one eighteen to eight. Eli zubers another injury stricken and
loses against Papaya's FC one nine to eighty eight Into
brick Shaw, Ferguson is ousted by James Gang one twenty
(02:12:14):
six to ninety six. That's a two game losing the
street for the brick as Shaw. He is now six
and four and this is a tight one. Boys, I'm
not gonna tell you. Man told your speiners for five.
Speaker 2 (02:12:27):
Okay, So you're right on the playoff.
Speaker 1 (02:12:29):
On the bubble right now.
Speaker 2 (02:12:31):
Four teams that are tied for the last playoff spot
right now, with's sore weeks to go, this is working
out kind of perfectly two to nine for drama and content.
Speaker 1 (02:12:42):
Well, you have you up there seven to three. But
there are four teams that are six and four, and
there's three teams four teams that are five and five.
This is gonna be a crazy next four games. Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:12:58):
Again, I points matter.
Speaker 1 (02:13:00):
I couldn't have matter.
Speaker 2 (02:13:02):
I couldn't have scripted this any better for my glorious
return to fantasy football. That zeb is a number three
points minor part of Who's number one? Yeah, you know
who's number one? Chairman, mew bitches hit me LG.
Speaker 1 (02:13:22):
Let's close it out, all right. We're gonna tell Vin
Taylor's number one for you.
Speaker 2 (02:13:26):
Yeah, and you can't even give me Jamar Chase because
he hasn't even had Burrow all year. Uh, let's talk
some Nico real quick before we close out. I'm gonna
I'm working on I'm working on putting together a potential
family slash a couple of friends zoom call because I
(02:13:48):
think the opinions from you know, the MAVs fan base,
the MAVs fans that are you know, very much still
in my life, the this doesn't really it. It's a
release and a relief in a lot of ways, of
being released from the nightmare that Nico Harrison is still
(02:14:10):
potentially making any decisions whatsoever.
Speaker 1 (02:14:14):
It's a relief that you're not to the championship.
Speaker 2 (02:14:19):
That's the whole point. And that's that's why I think
for a lot of you know, a lot of my
friends I've been talking to all day to day, the
the Nico ride is so weird because he's hired by
Cuban when Cuban is still owner. He makes moves, He
(02:14:39):
they get Kyrie, they resigned Kyrie at a good deal,
they make the trade for Gafford and PJ. Washington that
take them to the NBA Finals. And then, for whatever reason,
I'm waiting to I cannot wait for Nico's first like
sit down podcast with Matt Barnes or some you know
(02:15:02):
Baronday or Gilbert Arenas, where he tells the full story,
or at least as much as he's willing to tell. Uh,
because I do. I do still think the obviously Nico
made the deal, but the people that are still the
owners up there signed off on the deal.
Speaker 1 (02:15:21):
And I want to see if he has a Caman
Bank account, came in Island bank account. I want to
see if was given to him by the NBA organization.
Speaker 2 (02:15:30):
Or if he finally comes out and says, look, the
Dumonts and Adelson's told me, we're not giving any We're
not giving this guy three hundred million dollars on a
supermax contract. You figure it out, you figure out the
best you can get. And then when he realized he
actually could trade Luca, he immediately called up his buddy
(02:15:50):
Rob Polinka in La like, well, that's where I say.
I'm curious to see what kind of media he eventually does.
But in terms of him, I want him to be
like A, of course, that's kind of what I think. Honestly,
I kind of think that's what we're gonna get. We're
not going to get any answers directly from him.
Speaker 1 (02:16:07):
For them to get a number one pick after signing
a trade that made no sense.
Speaker 2 (02:16:12):
And they had never ever moved up in the draft
lottery position like they had never.
Speaker 1 (02:16:18):
They had the worst chances to get that number one pick.
Speaker 2 (02:16:22):
Third worst chances, third worst. Yeah, yeah, there was a
couple more that I think they had the tenth. I
think they had the eleventh best odds to have the
number one pick. The fact that Nico's gone is good.
The fact that the current owners are going to be
the current owners in perpetuity. It is why it doesn't
(02:16:44):
really feel like there's not some u for it rush
back to embrace the team, at least from like talking
to you know, my friend group up there. It's it's
more of a how the hell did this guy keep
the job for nine months after he made such a
stupid decision, which is where more of the conspiracy lines up,
(02:17:07):
because there's no world where you trade a guy who's
first team All NBA five times before he's twenty six
years old. You trade him and you can defend that somehow.
Speaker 1 (02:17:19):
The only way he kept his job is the owners
were behind.
Speaker 2 (02:17:22):
Him exactly, and I think, and I think that's where
the frustration is. It's kind of like it's yes, I'm
happy he's gone, but also it doesn't change anything, and
it's not ever going to change anything because being an owner,
(02:17:42):
like even here with the Holt the Spurs, this would
be like if the Spurs traded Wimby two years from
now and never gave you good aunt, just kept telling
you we think, we think we have a better chance
to win with the deal we made. The idea of
(02:18:04):
the whole family doing anything like that is so in
the idea of Mark Cuban doing anything like that, it
would have been Cuban trading Dirk. That's insane. That's never
going to happen. When you own a sports team, you
have a social contract with the city, with the region,
(02:18:26):
with the fan base. As much as we want to
view transactions in sports as a video game, it's just
not the case. And sometimes a player's value is not
just dependent on performance alone, performance alone and the value
they bring to a community. Which again, if your excuse
(02:18:51):
or your reasoning, I should say, if you're reasoning behind
doing the trade, is you think he's fat, out of shape,
constantly in a baby, throws tantrums, all of that. Well,
that guy also just did something that's only ever been
done by three other players, and those players are Lebron
(02:19:12):
Duncan and Larry Bird five all NBA first teams before
the age of twenty six. Like you just you broke
the MAVs ownership group with Nico as the GM. Whether
he it was his call or not, he continues to
say it is, so we'll take him at face value.
(02:19:32):
That brain Trust broke a social contract with North Texas
And for a lot of people, are they still hoping
for the best for the MAVs. Yes, but I think
a lot of people will never be, will never have
as much of an emotional connection to their fandom for
that organization because of the people that are owning it,
(02:19:56):
the people that are running it. And then you add
on top of all of it, you add the politics
of it and the support for a war that we
can all see on our phones that was not very
ethical in a lot of ways, it's just And then
you add that the whole reason the Adelson's and dumont
(02:20:19):
own that team is as a vessel for future wealth.
Would you say that about the whole family? Do you
think the Holts own the Spurs because it's a line
item on their portfolio, It's it's something that they are
only they only care about because it makes them money. No,
we've seen the whole family live and die by Spurs
(02:20:40):
playoff wins and losses. The people up there in Dallas, now,
one they're not basketball people. Two they're not Dallas people.
And three they want to bilk the state of Texas
to legalize gambling so they can make themselves more money.
And the people of Dallas would have been okay with
all of those things if they just hadn't broken the
(02:21:03):
social contract and traded Luca like that is.
Speaker 1 (02:21:06):
What isn't that the culture of Dallas. Let me give
you history. Jerry firing Jimmy. Sure, that was breaking the
social norm. This guy took you to two Super Bowls.
Speaker 2 (02:21:21):
Sure, Jerry being the GM broke the social norm. But
you know, you know what Jerry cared about?
Speaker 1 (02:21:27):
All right? Then football? Yeah?
Speaker 2 (02:21:29):
And then but Jerry won a national championship with Jimmy.
Speaker 1 (02:21:32):
But he cares about money more. Sure, Now, all right,
more so this is Dallas's mo And then you got
the whole Like post COVID, they legalized gambling. It was
a big push for all sports to be legalized. You
can go DraftKings, all that stuff bet not in Texas though,
(02:21:53):
not in Texas but other states. But you can still
do it on apps, sure, you know. Sure, So that
was a big push to monetize sports, which see we've
seen many a times that we become in fruish prop bets.
All this stuff is happening. So they get rid of
(02:22:13):
Luca and there has to be. They are casino driven team.
They're like, we want to be hated so much we
get to go to Vegas, you know.
Speaker 2 (02:22:24):
See That's why I still think when Texas doesn't give,
that Jerry does Micah when Texas doesn't give. But comparing
the Addlsons to Jerry is just apples to oranges. It
just is like comparing Cuban. Cuban is more like Jerry
than the Adulsons are. And I mean that in a
(02:22:44):
good way. They actually cared like Cuban. Wanting Cuban clearly
formed a bond. You can say what you want about
Jerry Jerry. Now obviously it's about making as much as possible,
but it was Jerry.
Speaker 1 (02:22:58):
About making as much as possible was just a side game.
Speaker 2 (02:23:01):
See, And I think that's I think that's really easy
to say. But at the same time, it wasn't one
hundred percent about profit. It's still there was a sliver
of winning football games. There was a sliver.
Speaker 1 (02:23:15):
Actually Anyway, I digress, but I hear what you're saying.
Speaker 2 (02:23:19):
Sure, Jerry Jones is the same as Miriam Addelson. If
that's what you want to think of Dallas, I'm telling
you you're wrong. It's just not the case. Jerry is
at fault for a lot of things. The fact that
Jerry doesn't break the trust of a city. People just
(02:23:39):
hating him because he does it his way. He does
it a certain way. Jerry also has built massive facility.
Like right now, the Atolsons are suing the Dallas Stars.
The Mavericks are suing the Dallas Stars because they're trying
to get all of their wins in a courtroom instead
of by trying to get public support.
Speaker 1 (02:24:00):
I'll can see this one because I don't know really much.
Speaker 2 (02:24:02):
And that's where I'm saying, Like, from the outside, I
think that is the perspective of it.
Speaker 1 (02:24:06):
Dadson's are more strategic. Yeah, I think Jerry is an
actual fan and wants to win, but he does not
want to give up power whatsoever. To actually Addlson's are
more greedy yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:24:17):
And that is so hard to actually think that someone
in Dallas now is more greedy than Jerry Jones. But
that's exactly what it is. We've gone way too late.
We're keeping LG late. We're gonna talk obviously more about
it on Thursday because the Nico one I'm putting together,
I want to try to get if we can get
my little brother and my dad and another buddy to
(02:24:39):
potend because they all have very different perspectives on it,
which is I think, where there's not a unifying vision
and everyone's still handling it very differently. Cap tell the
good people how to get a hold of you.
Speaker 1 (02:24:51):
You can get a hold of me at the Captain's
Chair two on O on Instagram and Twitter.
Speaker 2 (02:24:57):
Uh find me on x at Biggest Instagram, biggest dot.
LG Uh when is the when's the next Streme? He
got spurs the rest of the week.
Speaker 1 (02:25:08):

Shout out the Great the greatness that is Mike.
Speaker 1 (02:25:33):

Speaker 2 (02:25:34):

we will. We will truck through. I'm hosting for Andy
tomorrow four to six thirty before we get preempted for
UTSA basketball, and then we're back here Thursday night. So
till then, you'll be good.
Speaker 1 (02:25:49):
Peace.
Speaker 2 (02:25:49):
Peace, kids.
Speaker 1 (02:25:57):
What do we say about rugs.
Speaker 2 (02:26:00):

Speaker 1 (02:26:00):
You don't stay.
Speaker 3 (02:26:02):
Long with us?
Speaker 2 (02:26:03):
Yeah,
