Speaker 1 (00:05):
This is the Theme Park Podcast. Wait podcast?
Speaker 2 (00:11):
Is this a radio?
Speaker 3 (00:11):
Why does everything gotta be so messy on this station? Anyway?
Speaker 1 (00:15):
Here's your hosts, Dickerman, Jimmy D and Scott Harris.
Speaker 3 (00:20):
Hey there, and welcome to the Theme Park Podcast. Dickerman. Here,
there is Jimmy D. Happy Spooky season promo coat Scott
and Scott Harris.
Speaker 2 (00:29):
Happy Summer ween everyone. Jimmy, Well, because I'm recording this,
it's the thirty first. Oh, it's the stead of summer.
I don't know if you've been outside lately.
Speaker 3 (00:42):
It is hot out there. Yeah, you all it went
out and he burst into flame.
Speaker 4 (00:47):
How was it for you the other week being chained
up at it at Walt Disney World?
Speaker 3 (00:51):
Was it?
Speaker 5 (00:51):
Was it hot out there as you tried to protect
launch by Denver, Colorado?
Speaker 2 (00:57):
That's launch Bay. You told us you were protecting Walt's
legacy and protecting Launch Bay.
Speaker 3 (01:04):
Did you leave somebody at least to watch over Launch
Bay in your absence?
Speaker 2 (01:07):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:07):
Like, is.
Speaker 2 (01:09):
What they're gonna get rid of. They're gonna get rid
of the thing that Walt wanted to protect the most
his biggest legacy is launch Bay. Everyone knows that.
Speaker 5 (01:20):
And raise giant chocolate fudgetacle that she rides in the
first movie that's in there.
Speaker 3 (01:26):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 4 (01:26):
I mean there were some cool you guys remember when
that thing first launched. It was cool, it was awesome.
It could still be cool if they hadn't abandoned it.
Speaker 3 (01:34):
They should have never gotten rid of the Jaws. John
was great. Yeah, they went off world.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
I mean, just bring the Jaws to Galaxy's head, bring
all of that over well.
Speaker 4 (01:45):
I I for one, would just like to apologize to
the listeners for Jimmy failing to save launch Bay and
now he won't have it anymore.
Speaker 3 (01:52):
This is so dumb.
Speaker 2 (01:54):
I mean we could still go. It's still big red rocks.
Speaker 5 (01:58):
Like I was experience and seeing a bucket list event
in my life.
Speaker 2 (02:04):
Casabanita.
Speaker 3 (02:06):
No, I didn't make it.
Speaker 5 (02:07):
To Casabanita because we had to cut our our trip
to Denver short because we are fostering a dog and
we wanted to get back back to him.
Speaker 3 (02:16):
Unbelievable.
Speaker 4 (02:17):
I don't know where you're I don't know where your
loyalties are. You're off doing a concerts and not saving
Launch Bay taking care of dogs.
Speaker 3 (02:25):
Going to Casabanina.
Speaker 5 (02:29):
I am disappointed, and actually Lauren was disappointed because it's.
Speaker 3 (02:34):
Still not good there.
Speaker 4 (02:35):
Like I really want to go, but I still hear
the food is not very good there.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
Chippy, I want you to go to I want you
to fly thousands of miles to go to this place
and try their food, but I've also heard it's not
very good.
Speaker 3 (02:47):
It's fifteen hundred miles, but that's you know.
Speaker 2 (02:48):
It's still it's not around the corner.
Speaker 5 (02:52):
No, it's definitely not. But it's only in that three
hour flight. I'll tell you, I thought the pro I
didn't really scoff at the price because you know, it's
kind of dinner in a show kind of thing.
Speaker 3 (03:05):
After having been to Denver.
Speaker 5 (03:07):
And knowing how expensive food is in Colorado, it's actually
not a bad deal for Colorado prices.
Speaker 4 (03:15):
They charge more there for food because everybody's hungry because
you know, you know.
Speaker 5 (03:20):
Now it's it's just a leftover COVID inflation, all right.
Speaker 3 (03:27):
Fair enough. Otherwise, the Denver trip was good.
Speaker 5 (03:30):
Yes, if you ever have a chance to go to
Red Rocks and see a concert, do it. Okay, Ever,
since I saw like one of the pantea, you remember
back in the nineties, like bands would released like a
tape and it would just have like a bunch of
wacky stuff on it, and it would like and it
would have like a music video or two in between,
like all the wacky stuff. They had a clip of
(03:51):
Pantera and Simpletera on stage together playing at Red Rocks,
and that was the first time I'd ever seen what
Red Rocks was, and I was just like, what is
this venue? Just you know, just a natural rock formation
that they built a stage into and it has these
wonderful acoustics because of the way the sound bounces off
these giant like monolithic red rocks that come out of
(04:14):
side of the rocky mountains.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
Question Scott Harris, Scott.
Speaker 2 (04:18):
What are the nineties? And what's the tape?
Speaker 3 (04:21):
I knew he was gonna say that, Okay, it's that
cassette tape. It's a VHS tape. It's a physical media
that the kids are back into.
Speaker 5 (04:28):
Oh, I like, yuh think before Blu ray, before DVD.
Speaker 2 (04:37):
Oh, I've seen Beta players is it that?
Speaker 3 (04:42):
Now?
Speaker 5 (04:42):
Beta was the better of the two formatch which was
Beta and VHS, and Sony owned Beta and I forgot
who owned VHS and Sony wanted a license from people
to make their Beta recorders, whereas the VHS people were like, here,
just take it.
Speaker 4 (04:59):
It was the verse old version of freeware, right basically
or shared uh yeah, shared content.
Speaker 3 (05:04):
So even though.
Speaker 5 (05:05):
Beta was far superior to VHS, we all got VHS
because it was cheaper to manufacture.
Speaker 3 (05:11):
Sony was greedy, Sony, Sony played the game wrong. Yep,
and they almost did it.
Speaker 5 (05:17):
They almost did it again with Blu ray because that
was the one that they were back in versus.
Speaker 3 (05:21):
HD DVD, and uh.
Speaker 5 (05:24):
They ended up coming out on top on that one
because they were a little bit more willy nilly.
Speaker 4 (05:29):
Somebody said, hey, remember what happened with VHS, Let's do
that again. Let's let's get yes, let's get it right
this time.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
I need to get a four four K Blu ray Player.
Speaker 3 (05:40):
You have a PlayStation, don't you. No, you don't have one.
Speaker 2 (05:42):
No I've ever had. Don't have an Xbox, I don't
have a series X No. Okay, I mean that's the
thing that you just need to break down and buy that.
Speaker 5 (05:51):
Yeah, well, I mean do you really need a four K?
You don't just want a streaming thing that'll.
Speaker 3 (05:55):
Do four K?
Speaker 2 (05:56):
No? Because I want to own. I want to If
I get something, I want to own it. You want
to the physical well, I want to own the physical media.
But it's also like things come and go on streaming
services like yeah.
Speaker 3 (06:07):
Or comes back.
Speaker 2 (06:08):
I was watching I was watching Monkey Bone on to
be once, and when it hit midnight and went into
the next month, the movie just cut off. I was
I was halfway. There was halfway through this movie, and
then it just cut off.
Speaker 3 (06:24):
Sorry about your luck out.
Speaker 2 (06:28):
The pants, We'll give you no just rights were rights
were over. This is done, man, they just shut the door.
They really did.
Speaker 3 (06:42):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (06:43):
That's that's how it is. That's the rights now is
it's everything? It's Oh and this was like hands all
the time.
Speaker 2 (06:49):
This was January twenty twenty three, going into twenty four.
It hasn't been streaming since.
Speaker 4 (06:56):
Nope, you'll never get it back. You'll never be able
to see that movie.
Speaker 2 (07:00):
Oh, you're right. The only way to watch it, like,
I don't think it's really available like to rent on iTunes.
You have to like buy on eBay a DVD of it.
Speaker 3 (07:12):
Yeah, not even a Blu Rage did dvd Therese Weinstein
on it.
Speaker 2 (07:17):
No, it's just like there's just these like Secret There's
just like these movies that never caught on that you're
just so hard to get, Like twenty eight days Later
for the longest time, only existed on DVD. Yeah, now
with the new movie coming out, it's a little bit
more available.
Speaker 4 (07:34):
Well, even something like Tails from the Crypt that's not
available anywhere because they can't figure out the rights to it.
So if you exactly d's, which a lot of people
did back in the day, then you're good. But if
you ever want to see Tails from the Crypt again,
you can't, well basically unless you can find a copy
of it.
Speaker 5 (07:48):
Like I don't understand how like HBO didn't have like
did on that that.
Speaker 2 (07:52):
Was so before the time, Like you didn't think about
you just like you never you didn't think about stuff
like that back then.
Speaker 3 (08:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (08:00):
Hey, speaking of licenses in IPS, we have a new
house at Halloween Hornites.
Speaker 2 (08:06):
To the final two houses.
Speaker 4 (08:10):
Okay, Well one is one we talked about which had
been rumored and was confirmed this week.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
Well we've both of these were actually rumored for a while.
Speaker 3 (08:18):
Okay, so the first thing.
Speaker 2 (08:21):
The first one is well, no, they tease they teased
this one since last year. Okay, they had teased a
five Nights at Freddy's House or five nights at Freddy's something.
They started teasing this like early in the year because
it's a Blumhouse franchise. It's a very popular franchise, right,
(08:43):
but it finally got announced, and.
Speaker 3 (08:48):
That's gonna be a cool house.
Speaker 4 (08:49):
I mean, think about the layout of five nights, five
nights at Freddy's. I think that makes for a really
good house.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
And here's the thing. The Journey will bring guests face
to face with full scale replicas of the eerie characters
uh from the film as they stalk visitors through iconic scenes,
including the security room in the show room where the
chilling characters performed. The larger than live characters for the
Haunted House were created in collaboration with Jim Henson's Creature Shop.
Speaker 5 (09:19):
Yes, wait, are we gonna see Sweetems from The Muppet
three D in there?
Speaker 2 (09:25):
No, it's Freddie Fasbear, Chica, Bonnie Foxy and mister Cupcake.
I still haven't seen the movie, so that's it's it's
on my to do list.
Speaker 4 (09:38):
Okay, it's it's a it's a good movie. It's a
good movie.
Speaker 2 (09:41):
And the second one comes out later this year.
Speaker 4 (09:44):
Yeah, that's true, right to streaming, right, right is it?
Speaker 3 (09:48):
No?
Speaker 2 (09:48):
No, no, no, that's going to that's going into theaters.
The first one made a ton of money in the
theaters because it costs like ten million dollars. And they've
and Billy Loomis is reuniting with Stu Macher, good Ski
old Rich and Matthew Lillard. They wreck They weret comic
on last weekend.
Speaker 3 (10:07):
Cool yeah, nice, I hear.
Speaker 5 (10:09):
Matthew Lillard is going to be in the next screen
movie that comes out in February.
Speaker 2 (10:13):
H he is, along with every other person that's been
in a screen.
Speaker 3 (10:18):
Movie except Nev Campbell.
Speaker 2 (10:20):
Right, no, no, she's the star of the new screen movie.
Speaker 3 (10:24):
So she's back.
Speaker 5 (10:26):
If you're gonna have stew back, you kind of have
to have So, you know, the.
Speaker 2 (10:30):
Two movies that that people really liked, that had Melissa
Barrera and Jenna Ortega basically forget about those movies ever existing. Okay, uh,
where Legacy, we're re legacy sequeling. Okay the movies. So
characters that you're kind of wondering how they're in a
movie are going to be in a movie.
Speaker 4 (10:52):
Okay, I mean the last one got poisoned at the end.
There's a whole bunch of drama, and then you know,
Jenna Ortega's like, I'm the star and I'm out.
Speaker 3 (10:59):
I don't care. I'm not dealing with this nonsense.
Speaker 2 (11:01):
But the thing is the mos were really good and
they had really good directors in They should have just
continued that series or just don't. Like, we've gotten seven,
we don't do we need to keep making more of them, probably.
Speaker 3 (11:12):
Not apparently apparently, so we'll see how much money it makes.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
But the other that they announced is WWE's Wyatt six
Haunted House is coming.
Speaker 3 (11:23):
Okay, so this is I get.
Speaker 4 (11:25):
When we talked about it, you seem to indicate that
it would most likely be you know, the Wyatt family.
Speaker 2 (11:29):
So guests will go to head to head with Uncle
Howdy and experience that not only features the Wyatt Six,
but honors the legacy of Bray Wyatt.
Speaker 3 (11:40):
He passed away the other year.
Speaker 2 (11:42):
He passed away a few years ago. The creative mind
of Bray Wyatt was resurrected in twenty twenty four by
his brother brother Bo Dallas, also known as Uncle Howdy,
the leader of the Wyatt Six. The Chilling Crew of
Five has emerged as the disturbing and disruptive group in
WWE history.
Speaker 4 (12:03):
Okay, so haunted WWE House.
Speaker 2 (12:07):
Correct, which really just makes sense.
Speaker 4 (12:11):
Like, yeah, I mean, I'm curious to see how they
do it. Orlando has the weirdest wrestling history. There's like
so many weird things that have happened here and they're
wrestling and this is just one more.
Speaker 2 (12:21):
Yeah, it's it's gonna be kind of fun. Those characters
are kind of scary. There's Uncle Howdy, Ramblin Rabbit, Mercy,
the Buzzard Abbey, the witch in Huscus.
Speaker 3 (12:32):
The pig is Alexus Bliss, any of those.
Speaker 4 (12:35):
Because I don't follow wrestling anymore, but I know she
was involved at one point with that.
Speaker 2 (12:39):
I do not believe that she is involved with us. Now,
you are the wrestling.
Speaker 4 (12:43):
Expert for Singe right now, going, why don't you know this?
Speaker 2 (12:47):
You are the wrestling expert on the show. You co
host a wrestling podcast.
Speaker 3 (12:52):
I did in the nineties between the two thousands.
Speaker 2 (12:55):
Uh, your email address features between the Ropes. You are
the spurt in wrestling.
Speaker 3 (13:01):
It's an old one.
Speaker 2 (13:02):
Yeah, you are the wrestling expert. What is what does
all this mean?
Speaker 4 (13:06):
I genuinely have no idea.
Speaker 3 (13:11):
I do not know. Will we smell with the rock
is cooking?
Speaker 4 (13:17):
Probably not in this instance. I know there were lanterns,
so that might be part of the house.
Speaker 3 (13:25):
And he wore a.
Speaker 4 (13:26):
Mask sometimes because I watched the documentary on him and
I saw the people had a mask.
Speaker 2 (13:32):
I think they all wore masks in the whole Okay family.
I think yeah, yeah.
Speaker 4 (13:36):
I mean wait, it's probably off audience, like an audience
that might not have gone to Halloween horn Nights might
go specifically for this because wrestling fans are completely insane.
Speaker 2 (13:46):
Mm. Hey, those are your people. Yeah, that's your audience,
that's your audience. You do a podcast for them.
Speaker 3 (13:54):
I don't. I don't.
Speaker 4 (13:55):
I haven't done that in years.
Speaker 2 (13:56):
Well your email addresses otherwise.
Speaker 4 (13:59):
Yeah, we'll have to have Fritz follows it anymore. Who
watches wrestling anymore, so that that's a new thing.
Speaker 2 (14:06):
They've also announced nightmare Fuel Circus.
Speaker 6 (14:10):
Of Decay Okay, and then haunt Ophonic, a ghoulish journey
lagoon show coming to Halloween Horror Nights.
Speaker 3 (14:21):
I thought that's where they played the nightmare Fuel.
Speaker 2 (14:24):
Was, so nightmare Fuel is Nightmare Fuel is the stage
show that's over in the Wild Wild West. Stunt show
theater former Bill and Ted's Show, the former Bill and
Ted Show.
Speaker 3 (14:39):
Can we bring Bill and Ted's back?
Speaker 2 (14:41):
Now, why that's not coming back?
Speaker 3 (14:44):
Can we bring it back? No?
Speaker 4 (14:47):
Can we make a slight modification and bring it back?
Speaker 1 (14:49):
No?
Speaker 2 (14:50):
The thing is people people really like this nightmare fuel show.
It's like, like I hear great things about it every
single year we've ever done it. Because I don't do
shows but for very good things. Uh once or twice?
Speaker 5 (15:03):
Okay, Bill and Ted was really good in the beginning,
and a kind of cokey and corny.
Speaker 3 (15:08):
Towards the end.
Speaker 2 (15:10):
And then and of course then there's a lagoon shokes.
They've been doing a lot of lagoon shows. A ghost
story is rising from its watery grave to haunt the
Universal Studios lagoon featuring towering water screens and eerie music.
Speaker 5 (15:26):
Okay, good, last time we saw it. Yeah, with all
the projections on the buildings behind it and you know,
in the water and stuff, really immersive.
Speaker 4 (15:34):
Make no mistake, Halloween Horonites is the most like incredibly
produced Halloween event on the planet. There is no doubting that.
So anything they're going to put on is going to
be great. I mean, that's just what it is. It's
home run after home run. For that event, they can't
go wrong.
Speaker 2 (15:52):
And the thing now that we have to wait for
is what the menu of food is going to be.
Speaker 3 (15:57):
I'm willing to bet there'll be pizza fryes, there.
Speaker 2 (16:00):
Will be twisted well yes, but like James, remember last
year we got walking tacos.
Speaker 3 (16:07):
No good, those are good, you know what man walking
talk like.
Speaker 5 (16:12):
I was gonna get the pizza fries and then Scott's like, no,
I want walking talk and I made I made a
left hand like immediate like view turn, and I was like,
I'm going with Scott because and the walking tacos were fantastic.
Speaker 4 (16:25):
For a guy that's in such great shape. Scott really
does know the best food I try. He would think
you'd think you'd be a big fat guy with your knowledge.
Speaker 3 (16:33):
What he does is smart. He doesn't eat crap.
Speaker 5 (16:36):
He just he like hyper focuses on like the very
best and just goes with that like you and I
put so much filler, Like you know, I eat stuff
that I don't even like just because I got it.
Speaker 3 (16:48):
You know, well, it was here, it was in front
of me.
Speaker 2 (16:51):
Should we should we tell the audience what one Scott
Harris ate when he went to Universal Studios last weekend.
Speaker 4 (16:57):
I want to know what happened to your stomach after
that to visit the University Studios lest.
Speaker 3 (17:01):
He had to throw his pants away.
Speaker 2 (17:03):
I had a craving all last week for cinnabon mm
hmm delicious And could I have made my own? Yes?
Speaker 3 (17:12):
Not the same.
Speaker 2 (17:13):
Could I have gone to the mall? Yes?
Speaker 3 (17:16):
Man, you gotta go to the mall? Though?
Speaker 2 (17:18):
What did I decide to do? Drive past two malls
to go to a theme.
Speaker 4 (17:22):
Park where they have the best cinnabons.
Speaker 2 (17:24):
Well here, I might be biased because I used to
work there, but yes, yeah, So I was like, I
want to go check out see what the Jaws stuff is.
That the Jaw stuff is still up, Not much of
it is still up except for the decoration. So I
was not able to get the Quentin beer from Jay Alcatraz.
Speaker 3 (17:40):
It's unfortunate, but.
Speaker 2 (17:41):
A bunch of decorations up, so that was still pretty cool.
And then I bounced over to Islands of Adventure. Uh,
walked around a little bit, and then I'm like, you
know what, I think it's time when over to Cinnabon.
Got a moch alotta chill, which is like a chocolate
coffee drink with whipped cream and chocolate sauce. Very delicious.
It right now. And then I got a cinnabun and
(18:03):
I'm like, you know what, I haven't eaten real food today.
I'm going to go back to this hot dog stand.
I went to you on July fourth.
Speaker 4 (18:10):
See, he's got to you gotta push it down. You
got to push all that sweet down with some real food.
Speaker 2 (18:15):
And I'm like, I'll get Jimmy's been talking up Chicago dogs.
Let me get a Chicago dog.
Speaker 4 (18:20):
Sina fun Mocha chocolat and a Chicago dog.
Speaker 3 (18:25):
He needs to re upholster his driver's seat.
Speaker 2 (18:28):
And here's the thing, perfectly fine, no problem, yep, not
like a burp of uh, no heartburn or no. I
will say, washing down a hot dog with a chocolatey
drink a little weird.
Speaker 3 (18:48):
Yeah, probably, I could see that.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
I could see that, but no, it was a it
was a it was a well rounded meal.
Speaker 5 (18:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (18:56):
Well, I mean you had all the food groups. Yeah,
hot dog, chocolate, Yeah, hell the food groups. If your
buddy the old yeah.
Speaker 2 (19:06):
I mean here's the thing. I think I walked like
eighteen thousand stuffs that day. I just just balanced out.
Speaking of Universal Though this got teased a few weeks ago,
got pushed back, but on August twentieth, Inside the Worlds
of Epic Universe on NBC and then later on Peacock.
Speaker 4 (19:28):
Okay, so they're gonna, they're gonna, they're gonna push it
out there.
Speaker 2 (19:30):
Well it's late, it's it's a it's a one hour
special celebrating the new theme park, hosted by Joe Mangianello.
Speaker 4 (19:38):
Okay, that's cool, that's awesome. What happened to their buses
the other week? Those who were electric ones? Yes, those
batteries they go, man, forget it.
Speaker 2 (19:48):
Yeah, it's it's it's required special work for like firefighters
to deal with those.
Speaker 4 (19:54):
Yeah, that's when you buy cheap when you buy cheap
liium battery packs.
Speaker 2 (19:59):
Well, it's not even that, I know, it's it's really
just it depends on, you know, if it's collision, not
made to be collided with, Like batteries aren't like made
for that.
Speaker 3 (20:08):
Oh, was there a collision with the bus? I don't.
Speaker 2 (20:10):
I don't know, I truly don't know, but I just
know when I I just know there's instances where that
has happened in you know, yeah.
Speaker 5 (20:16):
Yeah, I think somebody left the bus in their pocket
and it just got too hot.
Speaker 3 (20:20):
Sometimes.
Speaker 4 (20:21):
I mean, those lithium batteries, they'll just go like, you know,
I'm going to blow up today.
Speaker 5 (20:25):
Do you remember just gonna do it? Remember when the
I forgot what brand the phone was. People were exploding
in people's pockets and.
Speaker 2 (20:31):
To do a massive recall.
Speaker 5 (20:33):
Yeah, well, because there was massive scarring on people's lower
abdominal areas.
Speaker 4 (20:38):
You think there's money of these batteries that we use
now in cars and phones, they'd get this.
Speaker 2 (20:43):
So so the cool thing about this documentary is that
it's being features John m chu who's the director of
Wicked in the upcoming Wicked for Good mm hmm, which
is kind of interesting because that park doesn't have anything
Wicked related.
Speaker 4 (20:59):
We got a Wick get area coming again. This is
the Wicked situation.
Speaker 2 (21:03):
I mean, why massively popular two movies a Broadway show.
If you look at the park, there's nothing that's really
like female forward.
Speaker 3 (21:15):
Oh yeah, that's true. There's a lot of dude stuff.
Speaker 2 (21:18):
There, and I mean, you know, like universal monsters that
fit like everything fits into like the ven diagram. And
I'm not saying this is like a pandering thing. But
it's like, why wouldn't why wouldn't you do something for
a massive franchise that you wholly own.
Speaker 4 (21:34):
And it is you know, it is still a Wizard
of Oz. So it's got that legacy too, correct, right?
Speaker 3 (21:39):

slippery stairs.
Speaker 4 (22:36):
Can we play these sports? I mean, these are not

on the ESPN channels when people are like playing, you know,
toss the bag in the hold the cornhole and such.
Speaker 5 (22:46):

Goofy Sports August first on the OHO.

feel like you've got good fast twitch.
Speaker 4 (23:18):
Uh No, I feel like i'd blow an a c
l somehow in a pillow fight.
Speaker 3 (23:22):
Don't even know how I do it.
Speaker 2 (23:23):
You would just be standing and then it would tear.
Speaker 3 (23:25):
Just pop. It's just gonna pop and go. That's it.
See like we'll put you in a lark. I could
see that. Actually, you could just put me in a lark.
