WBZ's Jordan Rich says there's a lot more to Adam DeVine than what meets the eye.

Welcome to the Upside with Jordan adose of good news, because it's a
big world out there. I recentlyreviewed a film with Adam Divine, actor,
comedian, producer, the talented starof the pitch Perfect movies and the
new Netflix film The Outlaws. Butthere's a backstory to Adam that's worth knowing
about. When he was just elevenyears old, Adam Divine was involved in
a near fatal accident innocently crossing thestreet only to get run down and run

over by a cement truck. Hehad punctured lungs, broken ribs, a
body tattered. Adam was in amedically induced coma for two weeks, in
the hospital for months, and heestimates he had about twenty seven surgeries during
the following years. As a teenager, he was in constant pain and clearly
remembers the tears his parents shed whenthey saw him struggling. There was a
possibility both of his legs would haveto be amputated, but thankfully that didn't

happen, and the pitch Perfect starmade an incredible full recovery. Could have
broken his spirit, but it didn't. It just made him stronger, and
