Welcome to the Upside with Jordan,a dose of good news, because it's
a big world out there. Dolphinsare beautiful and intelligent animals, but they
need to be in water and cansurvive out of water for only about six
or so hours. While a ladyby the name of Linda Grucock from Digby,
Nova Scotia saw something a little unusualoff the coast as she was running
errands, over a dozen Atlantic whitesided dolphins had become beached. Knowing the
(00:24):
dolphins had limited time, she didnot ignore this and she called the Halifax
based Marine Animal Response Society acronym MARS. Linda also alerted her friends and neighbors
on social media, and when MARSpersonnel realized they were too far away to
get to the dolphins in time, they reached out to the Digby Volunteer Fire
Department and soon about forty folks arrivedalong the coast, carefully moving the dolphins
(00:46):
to tarps and sleds and gently haulingthem back to the water. Thanks to
Linda and her community spirit, allthe dolphins were saved, making it a
very good day off the coast ofNova Scotia. And that's the Upside with
