In past episodes we've talked through having a vision, breaking through your internal obstacles like fear or laziness to name a few, and what doing the work truly encompasses to make your dreams flourish. This time we talk about all these things AND how to deal with external opposition - people, events or things outside your control that are straight up attempting to block your success. Join us as we welcome Ms. Yolanda when she shares her journey starting the next chapter of her career as owner of her very own Hair Emporium Plus - a safe space for the community to find self-care and the option to just be and feel beautiful inside and out. The journey came with joys, struggles and even some shades of racism sprinkled with crab bucket syndrome.

(00:00):
This Mama got Drama back for anotherepisode. I'm so excited because we just
keep having amazing guests after amazing guests, and folks that are joining us are
dropping so many gems and so muchwisdom and it's just so dope to see
their journeys and their success. Andtoday is no different. I'm Lady Ray
along with my co host Drindi Gonzalez. Hey, yes, and so we

(00:23):
have the beautiful, lovely, wonderful, talented entrepreneur Yolanda with us, and
Lady Ray will give you a betterintroduction. Go ahead, you know what.
That was an amazing introduction. Ilove the fact that you pointed out
all of the I mean, justthe words to describe you because I got
the honor to meet you not toolong ago. I wish you would have

(00:45):
met a lot sooner because I'm like, there's some notes I could have been
taking for Missy Landa. And justto kind of give folks a little bit
of history of your journey, Imean, you have worked in a whole
other space. Tell them a littlebit about you, what you were doing,
you know, leading up to this. Oh, thank you so much.
I appreciate you, ladies. Ijust want to say thank you for
the opportunity to be here. Yes, I actually worked in the healthcare feel

(01:08):
for about thirty four years in variouspositions. I ended up in it kind
of behind the scenes. I preferthat better, just because I didn't have
the babysit, you know. I'mgood with the systems and less interaction because
I had interacted with the public forso many years and I thought I had

(01:30):
done my part. But I'm backin the public. So God intended me
to be what you love and arepassionate about it. Right. So,
just like a lot of the othermoms and Sois we have on Daddy's every
once in a while, but mostof the moms that we've had on have
had this moment where they're like, listen, I've been doing this for umpteen
whatever is, whether it's years, decades, right, and they say,

(01:53):
you know what I want more.I want something that's not only going to
be uh, you know, providingincome, but actually providing fulfillment in my
life. And so you switched allthe way up and not only have opened
a business, but open a businessthat's providing some uplifting just beautification and opportunities

(02:15):
for your next generation. So tellus about this business and what is doing
for your community? All right? So I opened hair Imporium Plus first online,
but then there was a demand inthe community for an actual retail store.
I got a lot of good feedbackfrom the online store, but there

(02:38):
really was not a store in mycommunity like hair Emporium Plus. So I
went through the steps and got everythingI needed and opened a retail store in
the community. Has absolutely shown upand loved the store and love being able

(02:58):
to shop there without Lead being there. You know, they're a community of
Elk Grove. Now they can gooutside, they can definitely go outside,
but they don't want to do that. This store is smack dab in the
middle of where there is tons oftraffic. I mean, it's in a
shopping center called Laguna Pavilion. It'sat Laguna and Bruceville Road, and there's

(03:22):
so much traffic there that God intendedit to be there because there's all types
of people. Because it's not justme, you know that's in my community
that look like me or people thatlook like me, but all types of
people come into the store, whetherit be to get a wig, a
ponytail, get some advice on products, gets services because we have a salon

(03:45):
as well, or some people justcome in to talk and that really was
not my thing. That's why Isay God intended it. Were intended for
me to open this store and intendedfor it to be where it is because
some people come in and we justtalked that I got a store, I

(04:06):
got a chair for you, Igot a couch, and that of this
a line if you want to gosit and talk. My degree is in
business. It's really not in communicationslike that. But I've lived long enough
to be able to you know, pivot and adapt to a conversation or help
someone or listen, just be agood listener to a person if if I

(04:27):
figure out immediately, oh, theyjust they just want to talk. And
that's okay. You know, theydon't have to come in and buy anything.
People are coming in the shop anyway. Like I said, the communities
come in and they want the store. They buy, they they sit,
they talk and share, you know, things that I wouldn't have thought,
you know that they share, butthey do. Some people need to come

(04:49):
in and I see tears drop sometimesbecause sometimes they just talk. They just
want to and it doesn't I'm notbeing judgmental because what I say is is
we all have issues. We allhave people. People hide behind them.
They play like they don't have them, but that's not true. I'll listen
to you. I don't have aproblem. So you know, as far
as listening, I don't have aproblem with listening to you. I can't

(05:11):
solve everybody's problem, but listen.I do my best, and sometimes that's
all people want is just a listeninghere. So you know it, Like
I said before, it wasn't mything. I prayed on it before I
opened the store because I said,Lord, now you know I don't really
mess with women too much, toomuch, because you know, we tend

(05:35):
to switch real quick. We canswitch on you real quick. You might
be my friend like the housewife, and tomorrow you might not be my friend.
I really he didn't have to prayon that, and he gave me
the ability to be able to adapt, you know, and sit and talk
to people and just accept whatever comesthrough the door. Yeah. And one

(05:58):
of the amazing places, it's acomfortable space where they can come in.
It's not just a you know,a beauty shop salon like it's actual a
place where they feel comfortable to comein and talk to you, and then
almost like a twist here where you'veactually been blessed with the opportunity to have
a different way of looking at theseinteractions with other women as well, and

(06:24):
relationships and friendships. So I mean, I'm just I'm just in awe at
the fact that you went from youknow, being in the medical field right
working behind the scenes. A lotof what you were doing, like you
said, was it related, whichmeans that there was like little to no
human interaction if you if you didn'twant to write, like, if you

(06:44):
want to you can avoid people prettymuch forty hours a week, right,
and then you transitioning to this spacewhere you're constantly interacting with people, whether
it's putting them a direction of aproduct, whether it's giving your own kind
of expertise, whether it's ringing themup. And I think the dope thing
of all of that is is thatit's causing this like chain reaction of like

(07:04):
community building now, right because youposted a video on your social media and
you know, earlier I had mentionedthat this this store is now providing for
the next generation because you got yourgranddaughter working in the store, she's making
videos, she's getting this business savvytraining at such a young age. I
mean the fact that you see herthere being so confident and then people talking

(07:28):
like, thank you so much foropening this here because you know, we
touched on it before really quickly. We all know that there are a lot
of people that still have hate intheir hearts, right, a lot of
people who you know, grow upwith ignorance and racism as a regular part
of their life. And the factthat you've opened a store that caters to
people of color their beautification, theircare right is a huge testament to a

(07:56):
your courage and be your humanism right, because it's not just people of color
were coming in. There are otherpeople who come in and want to use
the products or use the salon, and that takes so much courage. I
mean, did you did you youknow, did you run into some bumps
along the way in the process ofactually opening the store, because I can
I can imagine you know just fromvisiting out there, that folks are not

(08:20):
they're not quiet about their racism. No, and I absolutely did. I
absolutely did. So. The partthat was huge and it was instrumental to
me opening is working with the Cityof el Grove. Some people there absolutely

(08:43):
tried to steer me the wrong way. But I can read and write,
and I know how to go andyou know, I coded software on the
back end, and you know, you sometimes you have to dig a little
deep. So I knew how togo to the website and find what I

(09:03):
wanted. But they kept telling me, you know, different things that was
clearly wrong, clearly wrong. Soyou were trying to discourage me. You
were trying to prolong the process. And every day is money, right,
It's costing me money every day,so you know, And I explained to
the young lady, I said, well, you know, and I tried

(09:24):
to be nice. I said, you know, I'm smarter than the average
bear. So that offended her.But I was trying to be nice,
saying I know what you're doing. You need to stop playing with me.
But then it got to that pointwhere she was still playing little games about
to steer me wrong. I said, okay, so I know what you're
doing, and I'm not going toplay with you anymore, because again,
time is money. So I contactedthe mayor of l Grove. I said,

(09:48):
this is what's happening. I wantto talk to the person that's going
to assist me. Right, andI don't want any games because I paid
my taxes here and it's very expensivelive in el Growth, so I paid
my taxes here. I don't wantto play any games. This is what
I'm doing. I'm going putting ina business and it really should not be
this difficult. I need a checklistand I need to know exactly what I

(10:11):
need to do, because you know, we've all been new to a person,
place, or a thing at somepoint in our lives. I've explained
that I am new to this process, and this is el Grove's process.
So whomever I come in contact withthe City of elk Grove in that department,
they should be able to steer mein the right direction and not play

(10:33):
all these games because I comprehend verywell. So she put me in contact
with Alex. I love Alex.I won't say his last name, but
I love Alex. And he said, you know what he said, and
I've heard it before, is whathe said. And I'm so sorry this
has happened. I said, okay, Alex, I appreciate the apologies,

(10:54):
but time is money, so comeon, time what I need to do.
And I gave him everything he neededand I knew I had it all
already. So he played in contactwith somebody that was in management in that
department, and she said, youknow when we because I really think that

(11:15):
they probably was telling her that Ihad like a mental disability or something like
she's crazy. You know, she'snuts. No, I'm not so.
And the reason why I say thatis because she asked to meet with me
in person. Mm and so whateverwe talked about, it could have clearly
been on the phone call or zoon. She could have saw me, but
she wanted to see me in person, like I said. So I was

(11:35):
like, so what does she thinkI'm an walk in here and look like
because I sound the same as Ilook. I never changed, and I'm
not going to say, oh,hey, many ray, how are you?
And then later I'm saying, heygirl, you know I'm not gonna
switch. So I went down andmet with her and she's just kind of
looking. She was like, oh, you have everything together, she said,

(11:56):
and she and see they lived ornot live. They work in an
open environments, are there, buteverybody can hear everything, she said,
you know, and she raised hervoice. She said, I'm so sorry,
and this wasn't for me. Itwas for them listening, because they
were absolutely listening. I'm so sorrythis has happened to you because what people
were saying to you was incorrect, and you have everything you need. Don't

(12:20):
worry about it. You know,we will give you the permits that you
need in order to open your store. Wow. So that let me know
that the racism played a part inthat, because all the people before her
looked nothing like me, and Iknew that they were paying playing games.
They were young, they're very young, but they knew what they were doing.

(12:41):
You knew what she was doing becauseyou steer me in the complete opposite
direction. So after that, though, God he blessed the whole situation again
because that person put me in contactwith a person that said, oh,
I got everything you need. Yousee me what you need. You know
what I'm asking you for, andI got everything you need in order to
complete the process. He did thatand it was done. Yeah, as

(13:03):
long as I had the money,it was done right right, And it's
yeah, the store is open. You guys are flourishing. The community is
welcome you with open arms, andyou guys are providing service and products to
a community that that was had noother place to go unless they were willing
to drive far, far away.Correct. And you know, the really

(13:28):
interesting thing about all this is it'salready tough to open your own business,
to open your own brick and mortar, to have an actual location and be
able to manage it. But thefact that you're doing it in a way
that is almost the only reason therewas so much effort is because people are
putting roadblocks in the way, butyou are making it look effortless and just

(13:50):
like a seamless transition because you knowhow to have all your pieces in order,
stay organized and stay on top ofthings. Now that you, guys,
they're open and you've been able tobreak through all those obstacles that they
tried to throw in front of you, right because you know you're doing something
right when obstacles seem to pop up, because then you gotta grow, You
gotta you gotta you gotta re upon your faith and your courage, right,

(14:11):
you gotta break through. Now thatyou're here, what has been the
most kind of fulfilling about it,right, because you came from being in
an office so now in front ofpeople all day every day, making them,
you know, feel cared for andalso beautified insiding out what has been
some of the things that stand outto you. Some of the things that

(14:33):
stand out to me is just theloving community. Loving community. My biggest
supporter is a woman. We getmen coming in for sure, because they
know we got the wave products,we got the salt spray for their hair,
we got you know, the scurl for the color. Some of

(14:56):
them don't like to admit to that, but they come in and buy that
color. But just the loving communityand the acceptance of the community. I
truly believe when they say, weare so glad that you are here,
because I don't want to go overthere. You know, I don't want
to go over there and feel likeI'm in harm's way or you know,

(15:16):
because other stores are in which anystore could be in harms way at any
time, but questionable neighborhoods, whereasmine is, it's not so much you
know what I mean, It's reallynothing else going on over there except for
people are coming to shop. Youknow, you don't hear about a whole
bunch of crime or anything like that. So they feel safe. So again

(15:39):
they're very very welcoming and happy thatthe store is there. And we get
repeat customers and new customers all ofthe time, or I heard about the
store, I'm so glad you're here. So comments like that really let me
know that I did the right thing. My daughter Unique, who's a brilliant
young lady, beautiful, brilliant younglady. One of the other biggest things

(16:03):
is that she told me to putup a business community relations board. Well,
when we started a year ago,we had one or two business cards.
Now it's full and I can't fitany business cards on that board.
Again. The objective of that boardis to get people of color to bring

(16:23):
in their business cards so that wecould work together, so that we could
keep our business doors open, sothat we could get you know, what
they need, but still see thatperson and be encouraged because that person looks
like them. You know. Anotherthing is is that my son comes to

(16:45):
help, my husband comes to help, and then Nia May the grand baby.
She's only nine. She knows whatgood customer service is or I call
it extraordinary customer service because I feellike we always have to go above and
beyond to prove ourselves and business. And so she knows when someone walks in,
she say, good afternoon, howcan I help you? She knows

(17:07):
the story, she knows the products. She don't always give the best advice,
but she's still learning. She's stilllearning. She's still learning. But
you know, she's only nine, but she how to run the register.
She knows how to greet people. She knows how to you know, talk
to people and treat people, justperiod. And it should always be that

(17:30):
way, whether you're nine or ninety, you should know how to treat people
because that's really what we're here for, is to help you, you know,
not hate each other, but tohelp each other. And so those
are the big things that stand outmost to me is things that are that's
actually bringing the community together. Andit doesn't matter what color you are,

(17:51):
because like I said, all kindsof people come in. I have a
young lady, she's a nurse. She's stressed out, but she comes in
just about every week because she's herhair is thinning because she's so stressed out,
and so she gets these long ponytails. And last week she just wanted
to talk. She came and satby the ponytails and literally sat on the

(18:11):
floor across her legs and we justtalked. And she was there for over
an hour. You know, she'sacting like she's going through the ponytails,
but I could clearly see you justwant to talk. Girl. You in
the hair shot for all for anhour, and you're sitting on the floor,
you know, a cross leg yousit on the floor, So you
want to talk right now. Shewas just in there yesterday. She's on
her way to Las Vegas. BecauseI kept telling her, I said,

(18:33):
what you're going through is super stressful. I was in the healthcare field and
so I've worked with doctors and nurses. I could even play one on TV,
I really could. But anyway,so she knows that I understand,
you know that she just needs tobreathe sometimes. So I started telling her,
you should go have some fun,you know, finish of course,

(18:53):
but have some fun and the process, because you're going to be so stressed
out. That's whats going on withyour hair, That's what I say.
You're so stressed out. You can'tgrow your hair. Even though she has
hair, it's just real thin,I said, But that's what the problem,
you know, that's what the problemis. You're stressed, totally stressed
out. Another lady came in yesterday. She said, I've never been able
to grow my hair. So shegot this long butter lace wigs and going

(19:15):
to a drag show on the weekendand she's never been able to grow hair.
I say, use this right here. She's like, okay, I'm
gonna try it. You know thisproduct I said, this, I said,
and try relaxing because for us it'sour crown, you know, and
we identify with our hair. Andso you know, it's just me having
the ability to relate and be ableto talk to people like I never had

(19:40):
before. But I prayed on it, like I said, and be able
to connect, be able to connectand give some good advice when people come
back in, Oh my god, that worked. And you know, things
like that, and you know, like I said, the young lady,
the nurse, she's going on tripsnow, and she was like, oh,
I'm so much yes girl, becauseyou can die to day tomorrow and
you be in that nursing school andyou have stressed yourself completely out, so

(20:03):
go have some time. But thingslike that, you know, things like
that is so fulfilling. And it'sbeen great to be part of the community
and be able to interact with peoplein that way. And then you you
know, you touch on your granddaughterbeing able to pick up these skills.
I mean, your kids are grown, but they've seen you turn your life
into this whole other passion. Imean, how has that been for you

(20:27):
being successful in one role transitioning toanother and you know, creating this kind
of roadmap for your own kids. And how are you able to juggle you
know, being a working mom, being a mom who's creating this whole other
legacy for your family. Well,it's turned out to be a family affair

(20:49):
for sure. Unique comes and coversfor me sometimes when she has time,
but she's very busy. But formy family, they've ben raced it,
they've embraced it. They understand whatit takes. They understand what extraordinary customer
service is. Uh. They understandthe process of opening a business because I've

(21:12):
explained it, you know, andthe obstacles and the documentation that goes along
with it, and just you haveto be very organized, You have to
manage your time. Things like thisthat all transition into everyday life. You
know, we all need to havethese good practices or breath best practices because

(21:32):
you use them every single day, whether it be going to a job,
get up on time. You needto be at work on time, you
know, to open the store ontime. Stop playing. The store opens
at nine, we close at eight. Make sure that door is open.
So it's been a huge transition,but it's been a blessing. It's been

(21:56):
a blessing because my family understands whereI am, you know, in life.
They've accepted that the store is there. But they but they still come
from medical advice too. They youknow, I'm like, I ain't got
no m D. Unique always sayyou should have, you should have,
but you know, they and welaugh and joke about the other role and

(22:18):
sometimes, you know, I haveto implement that as well. But the
store has been it's been a blessingand they've accepted it and they're they're they're
okay with it. What would yousay to to a mom that like this
is her vision right, like sheshe's she's doing okay in the current role
she's in. She might even bedoing great, but it's just not fulfilling
her heart, her passion, andshe either wants to start her own business

(22:41):
or figure out something that's going tobe her own. What what type of
advice would you give to her?Uh, simple advice, do it,
just do it, figure it out, figure out what you need, get
what you need in order to accomplishthe goals that you have set for for
yourself. But you got to figureit out and make yourself happy. If

(23:03):
you aren't one hundred percent happy inwhat you're doing, you need to figure
out what makes you happy because lifeis extremely short. Is very short,
so you need to figure out.And as you get older, you tend
to reflect on that. So youneed to figure out what it is that
makes you happy and what it isyou really want to do, and get

(23:25):
what you need in order to doit. I'm not a business advisor,
that is, like I said beforemy major, but I can help you.
I can definitely steer you in theright direction. That would be a
whole nother business. It's not gonnabe for free. I just want to
put it out there. I'm kidding. I give free advice all the time,

(23:45):
all the time. A young ladycame in over the weekend and she
wants to open a store like minein Roseville. She said, there's nothing
in Roseville like this, So Isaid, oh, she's going through a
company. I said, Nope, that's gonna cost you way too much money
and call me. You know, let's set up a time, let's let's
talk over coffee, breakfast or whatever, and I'll give you everything you need,
no charge. I'll give you everythingyou need. And so she's grateful,

(24:08):
but I would just say do it. You know, if you want
to do something else, you figureout if it really is for you,
anything is attainable, so you know, figure out what you need in order
to get it done. If that'smore stores, well I'm playing a lottery
first. Okay, Look, ittakes a lot of money to open up.

(24:32):
It takes a lot of it doesn'tjust to maintain it, you know,
buy products to keep the store stocked. It takes a lot of money.
But I absolutely want to do that. My son, he's going to
be moving to the Midwest. Hewants to open up a store there.
I'll do, you know, whatever'snecessary to help him with that. But
I absolutely want to open more hairand more en pluses. For sure.

(24:56):
It'll be story is very think yourstory is very inspirational because so many people,
you know, they have it ontheir heart to do something else,
and taking that that step to actuallyfulfill that dream is so scary to so
many people. Women and mothers, you know, especially because you like your

(25:17):
your focus is always on the kids, and I don't have time for that.
So the fact that you're you wereable to do it and you're just
seeing so much success and it's beensuch a blessing to the entire community and
your family. I just think youryour story is very inspirational and and like
you said, do it. Lifeis short. Life for short, and
thank you that we take time forgranted. So for sure, thank you.

(25:40):
I appreciate you saying I mean,I think I think that's one thing,
right, is saying the fact thatyou had the courage to do it,
the faith to step out. Butthen you brought up a good point
of like, you know, ittakes a lot of money to start a
business, but then to even thinkabout having a brick and mortar keeping it
stopped. I mean, what wouldyou say to someone who was like,
I don't even know where to start. Because there's a lot of women starting

(26:04):
their businesses and they're going about itin non traditional ways, right, Like
they're realizing that you know, thestate and your city and county want these
business to open and thrive, andso there's opportunities for grants. There's opportunities
for small businesses. I mean,do you have any any gems or wisdom
for women who are like I havethis great idea, I have a plan,

(26:25):
I have the organizational skills and thecourage, but I just don't know
where to start when it comes tofunding. So when it comes to funding,
the first thing you start off withis making sure your credit is good,
right, you know, we talkabout it all the time, but
it really is essential. You know, when you're trying to get funding for

(26:48):
you know, any type of business, whether you're going to use a business
credit card, which there is andI did this. I went through banks
like Chase and they have business creditcards or American Express with zero percent interest
for a certain period of time, and they have large you know, they

(27:10):
have large credit balances that that theywill give you. But your credit does
have to be good. You knowa lot of people don't want to talk
about that, but credit is essential. It's essential to your finances, whether
you're going to buy a house,a car, whatever it is. And
if you don't have it, you'regoing to have a large, large you
know APR and it's it's you payway too much, you pay. The

(27:33):
objective is to get cards to whereyou don't have to pay interest, so
you get what you need, paythem off, and you know, don't
abuse it because it totally affects yourcredit rating. And everything is about credit
when it comes to you know, run of businesses, everything is about credit.
Duns in Bradstreet. That's a creditrating for businesses. You want to

(27:55):
make sure you open and account withthem so that you know, it's always
showing that you're in good standing financiallyas a business. You know, make
sure that you know what your cityor county requires of you to open up
a business. Make sure you speakto a business consultant, you know,
somebody if you're not familiar, youwant to talk to somebody like the SBDC

(28:19):
or you know, I know ayoung lady that does her own business advising
absolutely great. You want to talkto the right people. As far as
figuring out a location, you know, because location really is key. I
have an extraordinary location that again bringsin all types of people that shop into
that center. And you know, just make sure that all of your documentation

(28:42):
is correct. You got to makesure that you have a tax ID number.
You got to make sure that you'redealing with the state of California Franchise
Tax Board. And this, allof this is all about being organized and
having your pay board because if not, it's going to come back. It's
going to come back to you ina normal hits you in the pocket.
And you know, you don't wantto spend unnecessary money, you know,

(29:06):
because it costs, like I said, so much to run the stores or
run a business period. There's alwaysa cost associated. So I would just
say, you know, be surethat it's something that you really want to
do. Do your research, andI would say the best thing is because
it's not about you know, reinventingthe wheel, go ask somebody that has

(29:27):
a store like that, what didyou do? You know, what did
you do in order to get yourstore. I'm sure it's people like me
that will share, you know, because it's not like you have to pay
for the information is there for you. It's just that you have to know
where to go look and who toask. But me, I mean I
wouldn't ask questions. You know,as far as a beauty supply store,

(29:48):
I did my research. You gotto do the research, and because my
knowledge really is key, you haveto do the research in order to be
successful as well. I love it. I love it, and we we
definitely want to take the time togive you some flowers and really just just
applied you know the fact that youyou set an amazing example not only for
the young women and your family, for the kids that you have, but

(30:11):
also for the community, creating asafe space where people can come and really
just feel accepted, safe and evenhave the chance to beautify themselves. Right
you know here, Absolutely, that'sbeautiful. Me. Well tell me this,
give us give us one last gemfor for the woman that's listening,
who you know, whether their childis a newborn, a toddler, or

(30:33):
a groan and they're looking to changetheir life, do you have a gem
or a piece of wisdom for them? Absolutely? And I want to just
before I do that again, Iwant to say I thank you for the
platform. I appreciate you both.Hopefully I answer the questions because sometimes I
get a little deep. You're wonderful, but I go off get a little
deep. Look. The fifty fivemade me think I know a lot.

(30:57):
I try to share as much suchas I possibly can, but a gym
for me would be that you know, I just want to say, you
absolutely can do it, no matterwhat age you are, because again I
just turned fifty five in December, and so I figured I would stay in

(31:18):
health care, and my son's heartproblem actually took me to health care.
That really wasn't where I was goingto be, but God made me go
in that direction because of him.Anyway, I would say the gym would
be is that remember that you aresmart, you are beautiful, you're kind,

(31:41):
and nobody has a mind right likemine. So my gym would be
keep something like that, a modellike that, and know that you can
do it, but you gotta dothe research. Remember knowledge is key,
and you know, make sure thatyou educate you about whatever it is that
you're trying to do, because nobodyis just gonna hand it to you.

(32:06):
You're gonna have some obstacles and Iwant to say this particular name, but
I'm not. I don't want toget silly, but you're gonna have some
obstacles, and they do have namesa lot of times. But you know,
figure out a way to go aroundat obstacle or go through it.
My thing is I go through it. I'm gonna let you know that I'm
going through you. I'm not gonnaplay games with you. But that's another

(32:30):
gym. Go through, go throughit, Just go through it and know
that you can do it, butfigure out how to go through it too,
and then still be respectful, respectful, nice and kind because being kind
gets you a lot of places.And I flattery, flattery, that's a
good gem. Flattery. They lovewhen you say, ooh, girl,
you look so cute. Ooh,I like that purse where you get those

(32:52):
shoes from you look so beautiful. But flattery and kynas get you all kinds
of different things. So I wouldsay all of the things are gems,
but just know that you can doit. Also, that's that's the biggest
one. Know that you can doit. I think I think you gave
some some really dope gems. Butthe fact that you mentioned, if you
have an obstacle, don't try togo around it, don't try to jump

(33:14):
over it, go through that thing. If you go right through it and
break through, you're gonna grow, you're gonna learn, and you're gonna become
better for it. Because I'll tellyou this, anytime you try to go
around an obstacle, under it,over it, you might, you might
leave it for a minute, butthat things will pop up again sometime in
the future. So, like yousaid, go through those obstacles, hit
them head on, face them headon. And I'm so excited that your

(33:37):
business is thriving. We can't waitto hear all the amazing things. I
know you got more of the salonkind of expanded. I'm gonna come visit
you when I'm out in the nineone six. These girls they ain't trying
to they try to work with meat all right now, and I definitely
want to give them your social media. Make sure to check her out at
hair Emporium Plus, hairimporiumplus dot comif you need to just revamp the look

(34:00):
or maintain the look they got youover there, or to get a therapy
session. Yeah, char oh,my goodness. You just like to get
you on the right path. Yeah. Look, and it's because of the
age and the wisdom, you knowwhat I mean. Some people just haven't
gone through things that I have.But don't don't say that, because I

(34:23):
promise you I'll go. I'll goget a certificate in something and say I
can well, thank you so much, or appreciate your time. All right,
thank you both. I appreciate youwell.
