Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're waking up with fifth in the morning. Hun kiss
what U seven?
Speaker 2 (00:02):
One?
Speaker 1 (00:03):
Scam is the keyword that you're gonna need for the
Wallows tickets a few minutes from now. When I saw
this scam, I said, no, no, no, what do you mean?
You sent your entire divorce settlement to the tune of
eight hundred thousand dollars to this scammer? No have you
(00:29):
seen this? This poor woman in France, it was getting
AI generated photos of Brad Pitt in a hospital bed.
You've seen them, right, you've seen these. They're bad, They're
so bad. It's delicate. Though there's always a threat of
humor in my show, but I understand and appreciate how
delicate this can be. This will ultimately lead to us
(00:51):
talking about scams you've fallen victim for. Could be a
simple TMU scam. You thought you were getting a Richard million,
then you not. Or you thought you were getting this
really cute top with the bows on it and it
was horrible, right. It could be a scam like that,
or could be that you were wiped cleaning your bank account.
This story made it. It hurts my heart because a
(01:12):
lot of times it has to do with the elderly right.
A lot of times it's those that are not super
in touch with social media, and that was the case
for this woman who had gotten a message from somebody
saying that they were Brad Pitt's mom, and the quote was,
my son really needs a woman like you while he's
(01:33):
in the hospital. And eventually from all these photos that
just are so bad. They're so bad. But the photos came,
and then one thing leads to another, and you're just
and she said, because I'm the same boat, I'm like,
what do you mean you fail for this? She and
I think we choose to ignore a lot of red flags.
Could be in the dating world, could be in the
(01:53):
scamming world, could be in the work world, Like we
just choose to ignore them, and our gut, deep down
knows something is just not right. And she's like, no
one really reaches out to me like that. And I
felt really bad for her in that sense. I mean,
you're going through a divorce, you get all this money,
and then you find that Brad Pitt needs your help.
You're like, why not, I've fallen victim to a scam.
(02:14):
I'll explain more coming up. We've got some time before
the Wallows tickets. So why don't we do this? Five win,
three seven, four nine one oh seven one. What what happened?
Did you fall for a scam and they wiped you
cleaning your bank account? I want to hear from you
and I'll share mine coming up next Good morning. You're
waking up with Tiff in the morning on Kiss one
oh seven one. You're a few minutes out from your
(02:34):
chance to win Wallows tickets. They're coming to the Brady
in February, so something to look forward to during this
cold hell that we're in. Speaking of hell, have you
fallen victim to a scam before I have? I'm assuming
you have. If I'm gonna share mine, you have to
share yours. That's how this is gonna go this morning.
(02:55):
But the reason being, if you're just walking into this
is these photos are come from France to like within
the last forty eight hours or so. About this poor
woman that's oh my god. She sent eight hundred thousand
dollars to scammers because they were sending AI photos of
Brad Pitt in the hospital, and she thought she was
really she really thought she was sending her divorce money
(03:17):
to Brad Pitt. And of course it was a scam. Holly,
you're on TIF in the Morning. I appreciate you joining
the show.
Speaker 3 (03:23):
Yeah, thanks you too.
Speaker 4 (03:25):
I absolutely love your show in the Morning. You have
no clue how much. It's just it's just such a
great show. I just absolutely love everything you do.
Speaker 1 (03:31):
Holly. Thank you for the kind words. I appreciate you
calling in every day. It's like you've become a part
of the show. Fam little character.
Speaker 4 (03:39):
No oh, thanks.
Speaker 1 (03:42):
So we're in the midst of Facebook scams and scams
in general. Have you been scammed out of anything before?
Speaker 4 (03:49):
I haven't, but this is a nerdy example. But I'm
a part of a Stephen King group for books, and
these people keep scamming, and they'll post and they'll say
stuff like who wants a free T shirt? Comment and
say I want one, and all these people comment and
say I want one, and then they like message and
(04:10):
they ask for your credit card information and you give
it to get the T shirt, and then of course
all you get is like, you know, your money's alen.
Speaker 1 (04:18):
Right, And you would like to believe that you would
never fall for the scams, but I'm telling you, and
it's really sad when it comes to the elderly.
Speaker 3 (04:26):
Right.
Speaker 1 (04:26):
You see stories all the time where they've purchased iTunes
gift cards by the thousands, but you would like to
think you wouldn't fall for it. And then it is
something as simple as hey, I'm in this private Facebook
group with people that I know. If you comment, I'll
give you a free T shirt. It's just sometimes it's
really hard to define what's real and what's not. Other
(04:48):
times you're like, no, I don't want to increase my
Instagram followers. I'm all set, I know this is a scam.
But other times, man, it's tough.
Speaker 4 (04:58):
It's hard to tell. I'm just like, well, it's really
sad to see all these people doing it. So I
just become a vigilantean post and write scam good good.
Speaker 1 (05:08):
We know we really need people like that on the internet.
We do. I haven't gotten a call yet this morning,
which I'm thankful for. I haven't gotten a call yet
this morning from anyone that was like, hey, I was
scammed out of like a lot of money, and I mean,
I hope I'm gonna float the number five win three seven,
four nine one oh seven one. Just in case someone
does want to share their story on how to prevent this,
(05:30):
but like I can't imagine.
Speaker 4 (05:34):
Oh, I can't imagine either. It's very hard to get
that money back too, It's not easy.
Speaker 1 (05:39):
Well, Holly, thank you so much for the call. Gal,
I appreciate you. I'm gonna tell you this right now,
Brad Pitt is not going to be contacting you from
your hospital from his hospital. Then he's just he's not
gonna do that. He's he's just not me.
Speaker 2 (05:53):
You're waking up with stiff in the morning on Kiss

and we're in the midst of talking about scams. Have
you ever fallen victim to a scam? This all coming
from this story out of France. The Brad pitt pictures.
Have you seen these? They were AI generated ended up
getting eight hundred thousand dollars from a woman like come on, So.
Speaker 5 (06:39):
I definitely felfore this like Instagram scam. And there was
like an ad for a drop shipping store and they
were giving away a backpack for free.
Speaker 3 (06:49):
You just had to pay for the shipping. And I
was like, well, shipping was like kind of expensive, but
I still felt like the bag would worth it, and so,
needless to say, I paid the shipping.
Speaker 1 (07:00):
In the back number came thank you for the talkback
with Tiff. When you search kiss on iHeartRadio, you'll see
the microphone right next to the play button there to
contribute and leave me voice notes. I told you this.
The red flags sometimes we just actively decide to ignore them.
I get it. I do it too. Sometimes deep down
in your gut, you're like, damn it, why did I
fall for that? I feel like TIMU is the same thing.
(07:22):
Timu's just one big scam. It feels like, all right,
if you're not already calling for the tickets five win,
three seven four nine one oh seven one, good luck.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
I want well. I promised this isn't a scam. I promise.
But we are in the midst of talking about scams.
Do you have one or no? Did you come out
on scathed?
Speaker 2 (08:33):
You know? I used to be an ID guy. I
personally wasn't affected, but I have seen somebody clicking email
before at locked in network drives. You know, they were
at work and basically all the files on the server
became encrypted. Long story shortage.
Speaker 4 (08:48):
We had to.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
Western Union some money over, get some bitcoin and actually
pay these scammers, and believe it or not, we literally
were able to unencrypt their files. And I would still
call it a scam. It worked out in the end.
Speaker 1 (09:01):
Josh. You know you have the nicest voice that I've heard.
Every person at IT at Ihart Media literally hates their job,
so I mean it's nice to talk to someone in
it that likes what's going on sometimes.
Speaker 2 (09:13):
Hey, I'll be real with you. I got out of
it years ago and I'm in leed now. That's why
I'm so excited. So let's go.
Speaker 1 (09:20):
