Speaker 1 (00:00):
You're waking up with fifth in the morning, kiss on, Hi,
good morning.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
Do you have a me it's do you joke about
being super tired of your friends? Do you see memes
all the time about being sleepy and tired? I saw
something this morning that being sleepy as you get older
could show a higher risk of dementia.
Speaker 1 (00:20):
And you're like, good God, No, we don't need this tip.
We don't need this kind of energy this morning. We've
got enough going on in our lives.
Speaker 2 (00:27):
But you know the rule I have on my show,
if I see something, read something, talk about something in
my inner circle three or more times, I typically end
up bringing it to the air because that means that
you're also talking about it too. Most likely, my friend
Tara and I were driving to run club last night.
Being in a run club during daylight saving is a
little rough because it would just it was dark. You know.
Speaker 1 (00:49):
I wasn't prepared for that in my life.
Speaker 2 (00:52):
And she said the way to crack me is by
telling me that I'm I could get more sleep. She's like,
I'm so tired. I'm just like so not functional when
I'm tired. Whether that's work related, election related, maybe kid related,
whatever the case. May be She's like, if you want
me to crack, just tell me. I'm gonna get more sleep.
I can just imagine her being in an interrogation room
(01:13):
and then being like, hey, just say that you committed
the crime and we'll give you more sleep.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
She's like, I did it, now, where's my pillow.
Speaker 2 (01:21):
The other thing that I had seen outside of this article,
which i'll read to you here in a hot second,
was they did a gum some sort of oh the
Netflix documentary called The Starting Five, which has to do
with basketball players, Lebron James being one of them. My
Boston Celtics were in there too. The reason why LBJ
is so successful in his athletic career, outside of having
(01:44):
really good nutrition meaning he doesn't really have processed foods
or sugar, and working out and having access to athletic
technologies is sleep. The man sleeps like fifteen hours a day.
If it's not sleep at night, he'll try to sneak
naps in wherever he can. He said, sleep is so
(02:05):
imperative to his recovery. This is sounding nice right now,
and you're still thinking, yep, okay, Well I don't have
the money or the time that LBJ has to take
naps day.
Speaker 1 (02:15):
What else can I do?
Speaker 2 (02:16):
The biggest tip that he had and I believe in
this too, and I typically try to do it the
best I can. It's harder in the winter, but to
put screens away thirty minutes before you go to.
Speaker 1 (02:27):
Sleep, ooh ooh. I have to agree, though, And here's why.
Speaker 2 (02:33):
Last night I was super gassed from the election stuff,
and you know, coming back from traveling, etc.
Speaker 1 (02:40):
That I just.
Speaker 2 (02:42):
Went to bed last night without watching any episodes of
anything on TV or looking at my phone, and I
had one of the best night's sleeps that I've had.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
In a while. So it is true. It is true
hard to do though.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
I even said in the winter it's more challenging because
what does one do at if they're not watching the
latest episode of whatever on TV? I mean, come on,
So it's important to get your sleep so that you
don't have a high risk of dementia. You know what
else is important? Joy and happiness? And what brings you
joy and happiness? Is it Christmas decorations? When is too
(03:18):
early to put them up? We talked about that earlier
in the show, So you know, coming up around nine
forty we're gonna get into the daily debrief. The biggest
thing that we talked about on my show today, I'll
run it back. If you want to contribute, this is
your chance to get on the radio search kiss on iHeart.
You'll see the microphone next to the play button. You
can hold that down. You have thirty seconds to tell
me what day, if it's already happened, or it will
(03:38):
happen in the future.
Speaker 1 (03:40):
Will you put up your own holiday decor
