Speaker 1 (00:01):
You're waking up with fifth in the morning. Good morning.
Speaker 2 (00:04):
It's Mental Health Monday. Just two or three minutes of
quick advice to hopefully make things a little bit better.
We can't climb the entire mountain, I get it. We
can help a little bit. Good morning, LORI sharpage good morning.
Use their licensed clinical counselor. It's a big month because
it's Mental health Awareness month. It is listening to Tiff
in the morning makes you less stressed out, is what
(00:28):
I heard you say. Can you explain that please?
Speaker 1 (00:31):
So your listeners are actually probably regulated their feelings by
listening to you and not even realizing it. Because humming
and singing immediately impacts our vagus nerve, and they give
a vegas nerve as like the border crossing of all
of our nervous system. So it takes in all the stress,
all the stimulus, and when we hum or sing, it
(00:53):
moves it in such a way that it helps to
release it. So when your listeners are listening, they can
be regulating as well.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
When you point to the vagus nerve, I know where
it is, but where where is it?
Speaker 1 (01:03):
So it is on your neck, the upper part of
your neck, underneath your chin, on the right side.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
Okay, Yeah, So what I heard out of that is
if you can't sing and let it out before you
get to call in your car, before you get to work, where.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
Are you going to do that?
Speaker 2 (01:21):
You've got to regulate your emotions right here on the.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
Show, absolutely well. A lot of times people will sing
or hum and they won't even realize what they're doing.
So a big part of what we want to bring
for Mental Health Awareness Month is just your awareness of
it because when you know you're doing it and you
know what you're helping, it can help you to utilize
it more intentionally and routinely. Okay, and there we go.
Speaker 2 (01:40):
Just something to make things a little bit better on
Mental Health Monday. Thank you, Lorie, thank you,
