Laura and Troy went out, and they ended up back at his place in Midtown. But when she got there, she expected a normal "dude apartment" that would have been a mess. But it was nice, and that made her think he's not normal.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
This is TJ Amanda and j Rod's second date update
on kJ one O three. Troy from OKC on the
second date update, I was going, Troy, good Man, what
happened with Laura?

Speaker 2 (00:12):
No, it was, it was, it was it seemed like
they went well.

Speaker 1 (00:15):
Man.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
We met on Hinge a few weeks ago and honestly
like we hit it out pretty quick, okay, So I
asked her out and we went to the collective Collective Fun. Yeah. Yeah,
good spot, man, really good spot. It was super chill,
we got food, we had a couple of drinks, and
that she laughed at all my dumb jokes, so it

(00:36):
was that's okay, absolutely absolutely, And then let me think.
After that, we took a little walk. We went through
midtown and wasn't played. So it just kind of felt
right like it just kind of happened. So it was good.
I lived close by, so she mentioned that she needed

(00:57):
to use the restroom, right, so I was like, okay,
we can pop over my place the bathroom real quick.
I like it. Yeah, And she felt comfortable doing that,
so I was like, no big deal.

Speaker 1 (01:07):
That's what I was thinking. If she feels comfortable going
to your place, did you just use the bathroom. Was
that it?

Speaker 2 (01:13):
Yeah, that was the whole thing. Popped in used the bathroom.

Speaker 1 (01:16):
That was it?

Speaker 2 (01:17):
Okay. Then I walked into her car and that was
pretty much the date. But I felt like everything went well. Okay,
but yes, since then, just being ghost town man, no
text back, no no calls, nothing.

Speaker 1 (01:33):
Okay weird. Yeah okay, So either either she liked you
enough to trust you to go to your apartment or
she really had to go to the bathroom. Okay. Yeah, Well,
I guess we'll get her on the phone and we'll
try to figure out if you did something or why
she doesn't seem to want to go out again.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
Yeah, that would be great because I genuinely thought we
had a good time. The second Date update with tj,
Amanda and j.

Speaker 1 (01:58):
Rod on kJ one oh three. Get Laura on the
second date update. Hi Laura, Hilah, Hi Troy said, you
guys had a really nice date.

Speaker 3 (02:09):
Yeah, okay, So, well, after our date, we went for
a walk. Right, we were walking around Midtown and I
don't know if he gave you all the details, but
I was like, you know, he showed me where he lives,
like that's my apartment building. I was like, Okay, can
I use your restroom? You know, he showed me up there.
I used the restroom, and when I got up there,

(02:33):
I thought, you know, like it's a guy's apartment, right.
I thought I would see like maybe a couch, maybe
a TV, a pizza box, you know, a little bit
of a mess. Okay, yeah, no, no exactly. I thought
it would be a guy's place. His apartment looked like
it came out of an interior design catalog, no joke.

(02:54):
Like there were candles, like real candles, like arranged in
three there were there were decorative throw pillows. There was
a wine wrap with wine.

Speaker 1 (03:05):
Okay, you're complaining because he's got his stuff together. You're
complaining that he didn't have to trash around his apartment,
that he actually had a clean, nice apartment. Three day old.

Speaker 2 (03:18):
I know Troy's trying to get here.

Speaker 1 (03:20):
Troy, come out here, Troy, troyce here, what Troy?

Speaker 2 (03:22):
Hold on?

Speaker 3 (03:23):
Hold on?

Speaker 2 (03:24):
So, since my apartment is clean and organized and I
don't live like a frat boy, you got suspicious?

Speaker 3 (03:32):
Yeah I don't.

Speaker 2 (03:34):
I don't.

Speaker 1 (03:34):
I don't know if I understand.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
I mean, somebody for you, like was it your mom,
a girlfriend? You know, like that's which would be fine
somebody else.

Speaker 1 (03:46):
It was me, don't.

Speaker 2 (03:48):
I don't get that. I want to live in a
nice place. So I researched, and I made a nice place.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
Almost turned on by.

Speaker 3 (03:57):
That I might need to go on.

Speaker 1 (04:00):
I think it's just so weird.

Speaker 3 (04:04):
Like I said, I just got a gut feeling that
was like, maybe you're trying to be something that you're not.

Speaker 1 (04:13):
I'm guessing. I think I know what's going on here, Troy.
You're buying an apartment and you could either like, go
on I don't know, Facebook marketplace and get a bunch
of people's trash and make it your apartment, or you
could go, ah, let me just go on Wayfair.

Speaker 2 (04:28):
And order everything I need.

Speaker 1 (04:30):
Wait, yeah, I just order a bunch of stuff that
you think in apartment's supposed to.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
Look like exactly like a man like that. That's exactly
what I did.

Speaker 1 (04:40):
You mean instead of a boy, you're like a grown man.

Speaker 2 (04:44):
Yes, exactly. I wanted a grown man's apartment, so I
put grown man things in it. And now I have
to apologize because I got pictures and posters.

Speaker 1 (04:55):
Instead of a beer's beer light, yeah, beer signs and
my grandma's old couch, Laura is exactly. It sounds like
it's kind of stuff together.

Speaker 3 (05:04):
Does that make sense, Laura, It makes sense. It just
feels weird to me. This is definitely a mean thing,
and I'm I'm sorry, Laura.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
Thanks listen. I mean again, go with your gut.

Speaker 2 (05:16):
We are gut.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
You're going with your gut. You gotta go with your gut.
So thanks for coming on.

Speaker 2 (05:21):
The second day.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
Yeah, thanks, Amanda. Does doesn't make any sense to you? Yeah,
it does because I hated a lot of dudes and
been in a lot of due departments, and there is
a vast difference between how dudes decorate and I think
what Toy's doing sounds fantastic. So oh so you like
what Troy's doing?

Speaker 2 (05:37):
Okay, that makes no sense. It was too dirty. She
wouldn't have liked it either, so I can't win.

Speaker 1 (05:43):
Well, Troy, you sound like a good guy. Listen, If
anyone's ever in mid Town needs to use the bathroom,
Troy's got a cream bathroom for you use. Thanks for
coming on the second prove Thanks for coming, Thank thanks,
thank you so much, Troy.

Speaker 3 (05:57):
Thank you

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
