So you and Tina had a first date obviously, but
things aren't there right now.

Speaker 1 (00:14):
What's the story?

Speaker 3 (00:16):
You know, not too long ago, my friend had he
had a birthday, you know, at the bar of the
happy hour, and I met Tina there and you know,
you know when you meet someone and you just I
mean like there was that spark, there was that connection.

Speaker 1 (00:29):
She had me laughing all night.

Speaker 3 (00:31):
She was funny, she was gorgeous, and you know, so
I was like, of course, you know when you have
a click, you asked them to hang out again. We
got some dinner, we got some drinks, and I mean,
I don't know, I think the first date honestly felt
better than that first meet, Like, I mean, it was
just it was like, I mean, I don't know, I
was feeling it like and you know, the funny thing

(00:53):
is like before the date, you know, we're texting back
and forth and everything, and you know, she loves her emojis,
which you know, I don't know, I feel like when
you get emoji's, it makes it feel even more.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
A little playful.

Speaker 3 (01:06):
Playful Yeah, okay, okay, you can almost like put a
tone to a text a little bit.

Speaker 2 (01:10):
Okay, So it sounds like it sounds like like before
there was a lot of joy in what was happening.
But now you're on the second date update. So where
are we now?

Speaker 1 (01:19):
We lost the joy? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:20):
Now, I mean I'm lucky if she texts me back,
and if she texts me back, it's like, you know,
one or two words, haven't gotten a emoji in three days,
which you know, I feel like that's a complete change.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
Okay, Okay, though it's just I.

Speaker 3 (01:34):
Don't know, It's just it feels like I'm like, did
I do something wrong?

Speaker 1 (01:38):
Or you want that emoji energy back? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:42):
Okay, you know how this works. Trade We'll get Tina
on the phone. We'll ask her what's going on. Maybe
we'll spark that up again. Okay, it sounds good.

Speaker 1 (01:51):
The Second Date Update with TJ, Amanda and j Rod
on kJ three. We got Tina on the second Date Update.
Thanks for coming on to now everybody.

Speaker 2 (02:02):
So Trey said, you guys met at a party and
before your first date you were all planning things and
emojis and there was a lot of joy and everything,
and afterwards you kind of just, I don't know, lukewarm,
I guess would be a good way to put it.

Speaker 4 (02:15):
I don't know. I just Trey's really like he's really
good looking, like seriously so attractive. Literally, mate, he was
wearing like he was like a nice shirt high, like
a cool casual jacket, colored jeans, jewelry, like the whole vibe,

(02:37):
like a whole look.

Speaker 1 (02:38):
Nay.

Speaker 4 (02:40):
Yeah, But then he told me it took him ninety
minutes to get ready, like ninety minutes.

Speaker 1 (02:48):
For a dude, what, Amanda, what you're reacting?

Speaker 5 (02:50):
What?

Speaker 2 (02:51):
So it doesn't even.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
Take me nine even see you ready? And I have
a very fashionable lady.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
But you said he looks really good, So what does it.

Speaker 1 (02:59):
Matter to you?

Speaker 4 (03:01):
I just I don't like that's too much like same,
I same, I don't take that long to get ready.
It was it was giving me the ick.

Speaker 2 (03:09):
Oh does this make Tray's on the phone and Tray.

Speaker 3 (03:12):
Yeah, yeah, I like to look good and that takes time.

Speaker 2 (03:16):
Wait, Tina, Amanda, Yeah, how long does it take you
to look good?

Speaker 6 (03:20):
If I'm putting if I know I have a full
like amount of effort that I got to put in.
I'm going to give myself.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
An hour same, Yeah, I mean, okay, Tina, how long
should a man take?

Speaker 4 (03:31):
Like twenty minutes? I don't know, Like what is there
to do?

Speaker 1 (03:35):
What is there to do?

Speaker 3 (03:37):
I spent twenty minutes on my hair alone. That's not
counting my gincare my teeth, you know, get picking out
the right outfit?

Speaker 1 (03:46):
Why does it matter, Tina? You're not waiting, like, come on,
when do we get to leave?

Speaker 2 (03:49):
Just give me ninety minutes and I'll But you know,
why why do you care?

Speaker 1 (03:53):
I mean, I definitely just I'm sorry.

Speaker 4 (03:55):
I just want to be the one that like he's
waiting on for me to get ready. It just it
just feels like weird to me. I'm sorry, like to
be waiting on a man for him to like pick
out an outfit.

Speaker 1 (04:09):
Yeah, okay, speak let me try to do this. Though.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
He obviously wanted to look good for your date. You
said he looked really good. So, Trey, on a normal day,
you're getting ready for work, how long does it take
you to get ready?

Speaker 1 (04:23):
I mean, if I rush, you know, sixty minutes? Why
do you laugh?

Speaker 2 (04:29):
Really?

Speaker 1 (04:31):
I just I need like video of this, like why why.

Speaker 3 (04:34):
Himself I like to moisturize my skin, you know, so
I get myself a good little lotion rubbed down.

Speaker 1 (04:39):
Why is that funny, Amanda? Why is it funny? Why?

Speaker 6 (04:42):
I feel like he's describing everything I do and now
I'm like.

Speaker 2 (04:46):
Oh no, maybe it's okay, hits close to home, is
what you're saying, Tina.

Speaker 1 (04:50):
Okay, I love soft skin, Tina.

Speaker 2 (04:53):
What's wrong with him taking care of himself to look
good when he leaves Ales? You don't you seriously don't
want to date him again?

Speaker 4 (05:00):
I'm sorry, I just it's just not a match.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (05:03):
I know it sounds like I feel like maybe just
a chemistry. Wasn't there an addition to that?

Speaker 1 (05:09):
Okay, yeah, that's a big part of this.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
Yeah, but we'll make it about chemistry now, Okay, Tina,
We're gonna chemistry and that.

Speaker 1 (05:15):
The stuff he puts on his face, right, Tina, It's okay,
it's all right by Tina. All right.

Speaker 2 (05:23):
I can't believe I'm defending you trade because I'm ten
minutes out the door.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
Man, I you not bouth, but you know you do?
You right? You should try it. Sometimes it's nice to
self care paps a little bit.

Speaker 5 (05:36):
Sometimes the world is moving so fast sometimes you gotta
stop and mel yourself.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
How long do you to figure out a cologne? I've
I've been with those dudes.

Speaker 6 (05:45):
Before two where there like they have a devy of
colognes and they forgot the scent of the day and
I'm like, wow.

Speaker 1 (05:49):
Oh, he just starts on the X Y Z and
the tracks of all the ladies.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
He relax.

Speaker 1 (05:53):
It is important to have a smell that met the outfit.

Speaker 5 (05:56):
I've got about I've gotten about probably ten bottles of cologne,
and you know, sometimes you know, it takes a while
to decide which one you're feeling.

Speaker 2 (06:07):
The time.

Speaker 1 (06:07):
It works all the time. Yeah, apologies.

Speaker 2 (06:11):
The more you describe your routine, the more I'm citing
with Tina on this one.

Speaker 1 (06:17):
I'm wanting to come around.

Speaker 6 (06:18):
I'm like, I would imagine my Colonne, my house.

Speaker 1 (06:20):
Do it kind of cool? You do?

Speaker 5 (06:21):
You?

Speaker 1 (06:22):
Thanks for coming on the second date off date, Trey,
Thank you. I appreciate it all.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
Right, Listen, I I as someone I don't I don't
really care when I look when I go out the door.
But she was like, what I liked about him is
he looked really good. But then you can't complain about
the process. Maybe I'm wrong. Ninety minutes seems like a
long time.

Speaker 1 (06:39):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
What do you think is that high maintenance? If it
was a woman, I'd be like, gosh, what's taken so long?
So okay, okay, let's talk about it. Well, okay.

Speaker 1 (06:47):
Would she rather him look like a dead beat with
a T shirt and shorts and everything else?

Speaker 4 (06:54):
He said it took pride and taking the time to
look good for her so he could be proud to
be out with her. Like, what's wrong with that?

Speaker 3 (07:01):
You know?

Speaker 2 (07:02):
I think I think you're right. She doesn't. She wants
someone that looks good as a dude. Though we have
to pretend like we don't try hard to look good,
we have to pretend like we rolled. I think I
think that's Amanda. I think the problem is if he
would have been like, ah, this, I just threw this on,
she'd be like, Wow, this guy is stunning. But to

(07:23):
know that it took him ninety minutes, it's.

Speaker 6 (07:25):
The level of pride. And he's like announcing maybe this
is how long it takes time.

Speaker 1 (07:29):
Like, I don't know, I just don't get it. I mean,
you you, yeah.

Speaker 4 (07:34):
It's good to have a guy with confidence though, one
that has low self esteem and doesn't care about how
he look.

Speaker 1 (07:41):
Yeah, that's true, that's true.

Speaker 6 (07:43):
But sometimes I feel like maybe.

Speaker 4 (07:45):
I probably should have announced this too, right.

Speaker 6 (07:47):
Yeah, maybe just maybe just play it cool, like oh yeah,
this is just done together. Yeah, that's what a woman
will knew, you know. A woman admitted that she took
ninety minutes every time about it, like, oh we just
we woke.

Speaker 1 (08:04):
Up looking like the.

Speaker 4 (08:07):
But I mean, what if it takes in thirty minutes
to share?

Speaker 1 (08:10):
Like what?

Speaker 4 (08:10):
We don't know what.

Speaker 6 (08:11):
Takes I do know men that take really long showers,
it's very questionable. What's going on?

Speaker 1 (08:16):
Why would need all that shower?

Speaker 2 (08:17):
He obviously moisturizes, he conditions, he does all got a process.

Speaker 1 (08:21):
Yeah, he does all the things.

Speaker 6 (08:24):
Was my boyfriend who recently discovered uses my very expensive
shampoo as body wash.

Speaker 1 (08:28):
He just didn't know.

Speaker 6 (08:30):
I was like, first of all, it says shampoo, why
are you putting on your body?

Speaker 1 (08:33):
Okay, okay, just let me tell you.

Speaker 2 (08:35):
I wouldn't know either, but I bet your Trey would know.

Speaker 1 (08:39):
Yeah, I would know.

Speaker 6 (08:41):
He would bring his own body wash over to my house.

Speaker 2 (08:43):
Probably he does not use the swave A dollar tree
body wash on his body.

Speaker 1 (08:49):
Yes, that's what you do. Yeah. Oh no, Tray sounded
better all the time. Okay, thank you for calling. We're
first judge, you know what. And his park

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
