Mixed numbers from Whetro Wednesday and closed Markets today for the holiday

How are you, mister Whetrow Brad, I have to be fantastic.
No matter what happens to the market, it's not going
to move because it's closed.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
It doesn't it doesn't matter what, it doesn't matter, no, no, no,
So the market is close today. Now that of course
the European markets won't be closed, so we'll be able
to keep track of what's going on in Asia and
what's going on in Europe. But we won't be open today.
We'll still talk tomorrow because there'll be some fallout along

the way. And of course even with the market closed,
there's trading going on right Even when the market is closed,
people can trade.

Yeah, they have some futures markets in pre trading and
after the bell trading. But there's some things that can
be done. But most of us just are following the
regular market. But overseas last night, a lot of negative
going on. Dack's down one hundred and nine, futs He
down twenty four, uh Cat down fifty four, Nik down

three hundred and ninety six, which is a percent. So
a lot going on still based on Israel, Iran, the
barrel of oil. And you know, if we look at
our market yesterday and we know the FED came out
and I heard you mention a little bit ago. Yes,
he kept rates the same. It's the fourth meeting. They
just they're setting and but he said, we're still going

to stay on our path. Right now. We think we're
going to cut two times this year. Maybe it all
depends on the tariffs and what's going on. If if
we're going to get the pressure of inflation coming on,
and that's what they're that's what they're really watching. If

we look at the barrel of oil, it's pressing up.
And I hate to give you the bad news with
the diesel took a jump again. We're at three dollars
and sixty two cents. To remember, I think it was
a week and a half ago. I said, oh wait,
wait little three fifty. I was all happy about it.
And now it's taken off. So it's inching up higher.
And yes, that can lead to higher products because we

have to pay to move things. Sure, but you know,
I want to want to highlight something here, and first
I want to go to the indexes that was down
forty four points yesterday. The S and P was down
one point eighty five points, Nattek off twenty five or
sue me. Natsik was up mixed market, right, so it

wasn't so bad because I think we're in this wait
and see, but we are. Today is the nineteenth of June.
We're almost through the second quarter already, and I'm gonna
mark this this. I'm going to keep my sheet that
I take notes on today. We already had we already
had one. I'm making a prediction Breddit. I don't know
if this is going to happen or not. I don't

want to have it happen. But we had one negative
quarter already right now they've adjusted it, and you know,
it wasn't as bad as place as what they thought.
But we get through June and we get in the
next month and they say we had a second quarter
that was negative. What does that indicates recession? Right? But

it happened before. And I'm not trying to pick administrations,
but I don't like when they feed us propaganda. So
last time it happened. Oh that's not how you measure that. No, aloney,
I bet you if we have another quarter, you'll never
hear the end of it. Actually, they will beat you
over the head with a baseball bat. My prediction that

doesn't happen. I'll be happy because I don't want I
don't want any recession numbers. I want to see growth.
But you know, I was just thinking about I couldn't
believe thinks the nineteenth of June. We're almost half way
through the year.

Yeah, Yeah, it's just flying. It just seems like it's
flying by. I mean every every day there's a new story.
I think that's part of it. Every day there's some
breaking news story that takes our attention, and you never
have time to just go and just you know, relax
for a little bit, because something always happening.

Right the technology that we have today, Fred, we get
news so fast. I mean, you know we talk about
it in the morning, but shoot, you just turn on
the turn on the TV, or fire up your computer
or open your phone up. You're getting bombarded. If something happens,
you know instantly what's happening. Yeah before shoot, you know
rotary phones and you know three station TVs. That was

a long time ago where we had to wait to
get our news.

Speaker 2 (04:24):
Well, and that's why the market is close today for
June teaen kiause the people in Texas didn't know there's
been an emancipation proclamation for five years. Can you imagine
there's been cell phones then in twenty four hour news channels.

Speaker 1 (04:41):
This technology has amazing me. And speaking of technology, I
saw an article that GAP is adding robotics down in
Tennessee to one of the big factories. Really they're putting
fifty eight million into it. Wow. Yeah, So you keep
watching this because companies are going to go that way.
That adds jobs in the beginning to build all this stuff,

but then it takes away as far as making it right.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
And they need somebody to fix it. But not as
many people as it takes to build it, that's for sure.

Yeah.

All right, So with the market closed and the weather
are you going to get out in a little bit today,
get some practice in.

Maybe I'm going to do a little running and a
little swimming. I think today.
