Andy iHeart Radio app XCEL ninety three. Let's go. Can we go
this kk XL XL ninety three GrandForks and i Heeart Radio Station in the
morning three talk to the Mayor Tuesday. Hit us up with your questions for

(00:26):
Grand Forks Mayor Brandon Botchensky, andyou do it by the books. You
got it. The Mayor is inmy ass of Nolam every other Tuesday at
eight am XL ninety three. Itis time to once again introduced the greatest

(00:47):
mayor and all the land. Itis time to marry Tuesday with Grand Parks
Mayor and Brandon and gentlemen proper themorning we got r J back. It's
the three, Amigo. It's Brocktogether again, two weeks in a row
at last. What's the same fromthat movie? Yippi Kaya? I believe
that's the three? Me goes yes, Jeers going back to Bruce the Bruce

(01:11):
Wills. What's the movie our favoriteChristmas movie? Diehard? Yeah, Yehard,
stepped up my tongue. Well,we have a lot of business I
think that you do today. Asper usual, we've got an aftermath of
city council meeting. I know backto Badge is coming up this week.
What do you want to share withus before we jump into questions Grandforce may

(01:33):
Or Brandon Bachensky, ladies and gentlemen, boys, girls and pets of all
ages. Well, let's see, last council was a committee the whole.
I think a couple of big takeaways. Looking at the MPO of the Metropopolitan
Planning Organization, which is Grand Forks. These Grand Forks, they're starting to
incorporate things like that underpass at fortysecond Street and the forty seventh Avenue Interstate

(01:57):
interchange, and looks as you goup to twenty twenty five that those are
really going to help out with alot of the traffic issues. I was
even surprised to see the Marafield notsurprised that pleased to see at the Mirafield
Road bridge. I would also alleviatesome pressure under their modeling. So that
was pretty good. That was anexciting development. And then Pedal Pubs was
the was another talk A question ortwo about the Pedal Pubs. One of

(02:24):
the questions here, let me findit, oh something, tell me more
about the pedal pubs coming to GrandForks. Will this be an all your
thing? What is this? Idon't think they're gonna have skis on,
so I don't think it'll be anall year thing. I think it's uh,
you know, spring to fall. They'll skip the winter season. But
yeah, it's you know, it'sa bike that has a trained person on
there that's a server and then steersthe thing and then you get your your

(02:46):
your group of I don't remember theamount of at eight to ten on there,
and you you help help the causeby by pedaling not steering. But
at the same time you can enjoyan adult beverage and scenery of downtown Grand
Forks and the Yeah, I've seenthose in Watertown, Still Water. I've
seen them drive around. That's it. That's pretty cool, great idea.

(03:06):
Yeah, and I think we're Imean we're I think they'll be one to
start. I don't think you're goingto see them everywhere, so I think
they'll be you know, limited athow much you know, traffic issues they
cause. But they'll you know, have to sort that out and find the
right path. So it's got tostart. We'll give it a shot.
Most likely won't be tooling up anddown the demors overpast to get going.
I don't think they've had that farto the west. That would be a

(03:29):
tough spot. And yeah, maybeyou could start the top of that hill,
but I don't think you're gonna wantto get that'd be a lot of
masks to get up hill, that'sfor sure. It would be really nice
if you've got to drive drive home, right, you don't work these bad
boys, and then you just don'twant to be like the last couple of
people on that thing. Isn't gonnaget harder to pet Well, if they're

(03:49):
dropping off one at the time, yeah, that might be tough. I
don't know how they moved the thingeither, but yeah, it remains to
be seen something in the spring. So maybe the three of us can can
be on the maiden voyage. That'sa great idea, you know, finally
you guys make that happen. Allof these years of climbing up the Grand
Forks total and poll may finally finallyend up on a on a pedal pub
with the mayor. Yeah, gosh, they'd be happy. My parents years

(04:13):
three and a half years of beingon the radar together and finally your dividends
three and a half years. I'vebeen doing this radio thing since since the
nineties. This is a big day. Awesome, mister Mayor. Trevor d
is an old man news for me, but I know Trevor's a wildly veteran,
so we'll give them credit all thetime. Although slow and dangerous behind
the wheel, I'll have you know, I still still server. I still

(04:35):
Yes you do, Trevor, Yesyou doank you totally. Every pub needs
a caboost Trevor. Back back toBadge. Did we give the time the
place the needs to know for it'scoming up here? Yeah? Two sleeps,
yeah, third. It'll be thethird annual, so getting together due

(04:57):
it for thirty I'm pretty excited.I'll be back at Grapseas further right Del's
toy Shop. They're going to haveall their field cars out on display.
So for about four thirty until sixpeople be gathering, registering, and then
six o'clock the parade. We'll leaveand come back about seven. Be a
fifty fifty raffle food trucks there. There'll be some entertainment. Lacy Shower is

(05:18):
going to do the national anthem,so it's like a real event. It
works out pretty good each year, and it's been getting more and more people
every year. You don't need, you know, a UTV, a jeep,
those types of things to be involved. You can stop by and talk
to some officers and do the virtualsimulation thing with the police tent, and
see the fire trucks and there'll bea lot going on. So come on

(05:39):
out to the Grand City's Mall onThursday, sometime between four thirty and seven.
Going to be a good day. We're holding out for good weather from
the Weather Service here for Thursday. It looks like a good rest of the
week for that manner, I hope. So it's looking good. Another question,
what's up with the Columbia Mall ownor back on rents? What do

(06:01):
we need to know? Yeah,I think that that was kind of a
I don't think they've said that correctly. I think they're behind on some debt
payments. I would expect within thenext year of that eighteen months, we'll
probably see some movement there, whetherit's a foreclosure and a new purchase.
We're really hoping similar to West Fargo'sguy or what West Acress goes down in

(06:23):
Faro, is a local developer, local owner that really is going to care
really going to want to ramp themall up and find some alternative uses for
it because it's been it's been troubleprobably the last decade. You know,
it's in a bit of a downloadspiral. But with all the other good
things, I think it's it's goingto be a good investment by whoever takes
it on next. But I thinkthat's going to need to be the next

(06:44):
step might be a good transition intothis next question. I saw this on
the News and Fargo. They're implodinga large old apartment building. Do we
have an implosion budget in Grand Forksand what should we blow up first?
Well, there is no implosion budget. We did get we got the Ambassador
Hotel was one that needed to beimploded. I think they just knocked it

(07:08):
out of the wrecking ball. Andthe other one was the old grand person
in Sweets of the CP the createTetual Education Center is going to be so
that one and then the Westward Holethe hotel part budget in I think it
was well there's I think that wasthen definitely taking some down. I think
that was a middle school class anda bunch of hammers that did that one.
Hey, whatever, that's it.The price was right on that one.

(07:30):
The students can do it, thensave some money on labor. We'll
do whatever it takes. There hasbeen some buildings, and I think sometimes
it's addition by subtraction, and thenyou're filling those things with something even better.
Addition by subtraction. That's nice. That's why you and I aren't the
mayor. Yeah, that's right. We don't know things like that. Never
good at math. Addition, subtraction, multiplication, division. All I know

(07:54):
is those are names of edge sheeringalbums. That's where my math knowledge stops
right now. Well, I loveit. Can we throw the question to
shore at you here, Brandon?Butschinsky and my poor friend r J just
had a major car repair expense. It's true. Can you share a recent
unexpected expense from your life, andwhether it be recent weeks, months,

(08:15):
years, and all those ones justcome out of nowhere, suddenly you need
a new film in the blank.Yeah, we're trying to make them feel
better. That that phrase we cameup with about a decade ago. We're
all in this together. Yeah.Well, I would say it's not a
huge expense. But looking at youknow, I got two kids in hockey
and one daughter in volleyball. AndI remember when I was a kid signed
up for sports to the high school, you had to pay like fifteen bucks

(08:37):
and they gave a jersey and helmets. Yeah, now, anytime you get
tost bills, it seems to belike a four figure expense. So we've
got to do something about sports. They're just getting to be too expensive and
unattainable at times and putting too muchpressure on people. So I'll go with
kids. Sports was a real unexpectedone that yeah, get kids in general.
You know, you have them, and you know that they're going to
be you know, expensive, andthey they're fine for like twelve years,

(09:01):
they're fine, and then all ofa sudden you get hit and you're like,
what is this is a little buzzards? Are are expensive? Already chose
that we are because it's always somethingthey're always you know, breaking somehow.
I got I got a daughter that'sgoing to be driving here in the spring,
and you have her license, cuta permit now, and she's already

(09:22):
eyeing cars. And I told youbetter get a job, But then she
said, how do I get thereto the job? And then I said,
you got a bike and then shesaid, how do I bike in
the winter and anyway? And thenshe got that first I don't need to
be a DEBI downer, but thatfirst inevitable speeding ticket in Minnesota where they
take away your car you're first bornand charge your buddy some thousand dollars,
right right, Yeah, well we'renot going to let her drive. Yeah,

(09:46):
you just stick out of there now, you hear. And if you're
car shopping, r J might justhave the vehicle for you. There's just
been freshly repaired. Hey, letme tell you this guy. And this
is an oddest to god thought thatwent in my mind. And I really
did consider when my car alright dieby the side of the road in Grafton,
I thought, it's not worth fixing. I have the title. I
think I'm just going to tape itto the window, sign it off.

(10:07):
Whoever wants it can take this thing. I really started with you. Yeah,
file off the VIN number and justleave it there. Just just take
it, you know. And thatwould have been for the right price,
wouldn't it. That would have taughtsomebody a lot and we never would have
seen our J and grand forks.Again, that's right as right, because

(10:28):
I don't think the Pedal Pub wouldmake it here. That might be the
new your new cars, the PedalPub. You get the work, Well,
I believe me, I'd try.Yeah, it's officially our first visit
of the month. Do you havetime for rapid fire before we go our
separate ways for two weeks? Surething? All right? Here we go

(10:50):
Grand Forks mayor Brandon Batchensky. Itis rapid fire. After Week one of
NFL football? Who do you predictwill win the Super Bowl? Too early
to tell. I think it's towatch a lot of the games. I'm
not going with the Jets. Thatwas too bad that Aaron Rodgers is down
and the first US three players in. I'll still go at the Vikings because

(11:11):
I'm a gluten for punishment even thoughthey lost Game one. Somewhere you have
been most people have not, probablyKazakhstan. Yeah, yeah, I would
say my list of things to do, but still haven't made it to Kazakhstan.
I hear it's very lovely this timeof year. Oh, it's lovely

(11:31):
all your own. It's National VideoGame Day. What is or was your
favorite video game? Oh? Iliked Command and Conquer. Actually, what's
the that was? A computer gameback in the day and then world.
But what's the call of duty?Oh yeah, those are good. Those
are good. Call of duty wasgood when I was first turning frow and
you had some free time on yourhand. I twisted for that. As

(11:54):
we are giving away free boneless wingsfor a year from Buffalo Wild Wings to
college students. More on that tocome. What's your favorite wing flavor?
I saw. I'm polish, soI like things really spicy that I sweat
the buttons. They eat spicy things, so I can't go much higher than
medium. Otherwise it's a real messand people think I'm having a stroke.

(12:16):
They're deciding some of some city thingsas you're chowing down wings at the same
time, and it's it's it's reallygonna be okay. It might be the
toughest of the five Today favorite TaylorSwift song What's wrong with You All?
I don't even know there's another one, like haters gonna hate hate hate.
That's like I think I can't evenname them. So it's pretty bad.

(12:37):
And you know they getting stuck inyour pandle the crowd. Now it's going
to be there all day. Thanksa lot, Shake it off, Shake
it off another one. I thinkthat's the one. That's the one,
that's all that is. That wasTrevor trying to be clever. Clever Trevor,

(12:58):
Here we go on and for therecord of the correct or would have
been any of them you named it? Kind of a true just love them
all, Grand Forks, the MayorBrandon Bachski, it has been our pleasure
enjoyed back the Badge Day on Thursday, and I can't wait to do this
again in fourteen more sleeps. Iwas great. You guys have a great

(13:18):
rest of the week. Thank you, k K XL XCEL ninety three,

(14:01):

the calendar, not today. NationalWoman Police Officer Day, a day to
honor the women who serve and protect. It's National Day of Encouragement. And
take time today to uplift and offerencouragement to somebody who was someone who gave

(14:26):
you encouragement when you get needed itthe most. Nobody r J. No
one's ever encouraged me. Ever,I encourage you to come to work every
day. And that's true. Lookdead, that's true. What am I
talking about? He is here, kids are j the boys are back.
Hey it was it was a drunklast week. Yeah, I know it

(14:46):
wasn't supposed to be either. Moreon that momentarial Yeah, National Video Games
Day? What was the first videogame you ever played? Uh? Not
Blades of Steel? What system wasthat? Nintendo? Mine was Atari?
I don't know what game. Wejust had some cartridges. I don't know

(15:07):
if it's Asteroids. Pitfall is myfavorite, I think. Oh okay,
I've heard of kids playing with those. But I never got to National Chocolate
Milkshake Day. You know how theygot you back then before I get into
Chocolate Milkshake Day. Kind of likethey do with with phones now, they
program them to like two days intwo months in one day after your contract

(15:28):
expires, your phone slows down,so you need to get the upgrade.
Yes, they had joysticks for Atari, so the little fire button top left
corner would wear out, so youwould have to Basically, once you got
good at a game, go buya new joystick or two joysticks the two
people could play. They should havesold those at Sam's Club in hundred packs.

(15:50):
Yeah, if Sam Scott had beena thing, they definitely would have
more on That's how we get you. I think we are going to devote
Thursday to that because okay stars mailline again. They Yeah, they're going
to align. I'll be with youon Thursday. I think pal always a
good day for a shake National ChunkolateMilkshake Day. Let's look at your forecast,
brought to you by live Wire andGrandfork's premiere events organizer, light staging,

(16:11):
audio, video, and more.Visit live wire now dot com.
Sky's become sunny. We get tosixty six today, mostly clear forty two.
Tonight, Wednesday mostly sunny seventy two, Thursday, chance of showers and
thunderstorms, mostly cloudy seventy six,and for Friday, mostly sunny seventy four.
Got some fog at forty one DowntownGrand Forks. So our jay is

(16:33):
here again, and you missed himlast week, as did I. Not
only in the mornings, but aweekday afternoons through to seven, your normal,
your norm. Good to have youhere all day again today. Yeah,
there was an unexpected Dare I say, curveball in your life? I
would say, I would say,and you know, and curveballs, they

(16:55):
seem to happen at like the worsttime, obviously as a curveball. So
three, I said, before youeven got here this morning. I don't
know if you heard or not thatit always seems to happen. Stuff like
this happens, like maybe you gota little bonus at work, or maybe
you just won one hundred bucks anda beauty contest, or yes, just

(17:15):
when you maybe pay off a creditcard. Yeah, if you'll let the
guard down for a second, don'tever let the guard down. Just don't
ever be in a constant state ofpanic. And you should be Okay,
you should write, we should writefortune crept here there you go. Yeah,
yeah, no, it will neverget better. Yeah, that's that's

(17:37):
what you say. No, Andyou know what, I'm always worried about
things. So I get up,I said, Hey, camera, listen,
let's go get some ice cream,I'd say, because they're selling at
the gas station now Grafton. Graftonhasn't had a soft a place to get
softs of ice cream in like fifteenyears. Really, oh yeah, yeah,
poor poor graft And I thought, and in fact, I've thought about
doing something about this and say, hey, we should open up a thing

(17:57):
here. Well know that I'm notgonna do no, I don't never do
that, but somebody should. Somebodyshould. I mean, you know,
the place is dying. It waslike someone listen to you. Yeah,
yeah, somebody did so they yeah. So I'm like, let's get some
ice cream. I'm this is agood day to be alive, isn't it?
Summary day? Sometimes you see,you know, doom is coming.
If I'm in a great mood,it's over. I said, let's get

(18:18):
some ice cream. It's a beautifulMIAs here. It sounds like your guard
was down, totally down, gotten, not even existent. It wasn't even
down. It took it off andI left it at home. Guard was
gone. Good for you. SoI get in the car and we go
there. We get our ice creamand even got some sub sandwiches for eight
bucks. Because there was a dealgoing on. I'm like, does life
get any better? So we've gotour ice cream and subs think it doesn't.

(18:42):
It's like getting the cars and whatis that that's not good? I
thought, well, maybe some kidor something put like a cann or my
because it sounds like something was draggingpop bottle. Yeah, something. I
got a little bit further. Itfelt like it's Then it started to sound
like the gas tank was on theground, like barking. Did you think
maybe I should turned the radio ups? Now this isn't good, So I

(19:06):
I park it quick in the parkinglot. I look out of the car.
Nothing's dragging, but it sure soundslike it. Maybe there's a rock
in the brake or something like that. Yeah, that's it. There's a
lot of roads construction going on.Some of a young whipper snapper and wipper
snappers put a card in your spokes. He's messing with me, That's what
I was thinking. I still wasthinking, kids, there's some some little
you know, rag a muff andthere's messing me up. So then I

(19:29):
get into the alley and that's reallyI'm like, no, this isn't good.
And then you could smell it thatsmell of death, of broken,
broken, of like gear oil ismoney burning. Yeah yeah. And then
I look behind me. I seea trail of blood, you know,
of gear oil down the street, and then a pile poddle forming under the
car. Said that's it, thisis this is toast. It's it's over.

(19:52):
Let's drive the car into the river. And basically I would have driven
to the river. I had itdriven, you know, and then I
realized, it's it's thinking labor dayweekend. You know, there's no Friday
night, Labor day weekend. There'swhat am I gonna do? You know?
Or Thursday? I when was itwas a Thursday night, Thursday night
whatever. Remember when I got theI said, what's the alert text?
Yeah? I think it was Fridaynight. Yeah, so it's labor day

(20:12):
weekend. So it sat there.I had, I had, you know,
oddly enough, guess what. Mycar died in front of a now
closed auto repair shop. It's beenvacant for like the last four years of
a black guy. So you sprintedhome at world record pace, like Olympic

(20:33):
record pace, to go get yourguard and put it back up and pull
it over your head. I ranhome, got the guard put it up,
and then spent the rest of thenight on the couch text to you
and said, well that's it.RJ's out of commission for a while.
And and but and see what Idid. I don't know. I normally
I said, well, this isgonna cost me five thousand dollars. I
tell the whole family, the wholeworld, it's gonna be five thousand dollars.
I do this as a defense mechanismbecause I know it's probably not going
to be five but just to preparemyself. Nothing cars is ever cheap.

(20:57):
Nothing, everyone knows that. Butalways in the back of my head,
I'm like, oh, you've reallyovershot this one our jan it will probably
be like eight hundred and boy, won't you be happy? Yeah? Yeah.
But then when I got the billit was twenty six hundred dollars,
I was moderately happy, but notreally so constance data panic. That's what
I'm always going to do now, because I know the furnace is going to
blow up next week. Now.I used to take a the last well,

(21:19):
I guess a couple of vehicles togo in when there was something wrong.
There always seemed to be something wrong, and they'd give me the old
there's a possibility, it's a goodchance it's this, and that would be
about nineteen dollars. There's just anoutside ballpark chance it's your Johnson Rod and
that's going to be twenty six hundreddollars. It was always that one.

(21:41):
Chevy Blazers don't exist for a reason. Now, yeah, yeah, So
we're gonna trying to make you feelbetter today. We'll do some choose your
own adventure winning in just a fewminutes, under ten minutes. Now,
share a recent unexpected expense from yourlife. Choose your own adventure winning.
Oh, the answer is already comingin. Let's see, Amy says,
had a necklace hanging from my rearview mirror which wiggled this way into a

(22:03):
tiny hole and blew the motorboard circuitin my truck. Three thousand dollars.
Oh, I guarantee you're going tobe smiling by I probably am. I'll
give you some credit for this phrasethat we came up with, this probably
almost a decade ago. We're allin this together. We're all in this

(22:26):
guy. Yeah, yeah, yeah. Oh, my coffeemaker died today,
by the way, that's why I'mdrinking this this tepid coffee. Those aren't
insult injury. Insult injury straws. That's breaking camel's backs, is what's happening.
Henry says, had to replace ourcentral air unit in furnace this summer.
That was so not in our budget. Of course it happened during the

(22:47):
heat wave. Ten thousand dollars later. Hopefully don't have any more surprises.
Those sons of guns always break down. I think I told you about the
time my AC decided not to work. It was my family used to always
come down on Canada Today weekend,so we'd have ten people staying at the
house. It was one hundred degreesoutside, and that's when the acides.

(23:11):
Yep, it's timed. It's timedsomehow, and in the furnace company is
getting coots with AC company says, okay, you're going to go out in
eight years. Oh yeah, I'mthe furnace guy. I'll give him ten,
you know, because the car guy'sgot nine. So you know,
you're just always you're always blue andtattooed my friend. It was about as
good as the situation could have playedout because my buddy, my friend who

(23:32):
I live next door too. Isin the trade, so he's always got
a guy for if something breaks thisperson. So thankfully this guy came over
and I paid him some cash toget out here. Oh, to take
care of it, get the AC up and rolling again. But still
unexpected expense. And it always happens. It's never like Tuesday at eleven am

(23:52):
when anything goes wrong. It goesarrived and everything's open. No, that
is that's a fact. Stank soundthat he threw. Hello, Hey,
good day all. My visiting withthis is this is what was your name?
Dare I hit you with my questionof the day today, my poor
friend r J today at a majorcar repair expense? Can you share a

(24:15):
recent unexpected expense from your life inrecent weeks, days, months, years
and all those ones that just hityou unexpectedly? I had to move out
right away, so my new placeI had to have first months front,
last month front at a deposit.Did you get kicked out? Well?

(24:37):
I thought I was going to beable to renew my lease and they two
months before my lease ended I hadthey told me I was terminated. I
wasn't going to renew it. Ohwhat did you do? I don't know
most of you, was them right? Yeah, they didn't like my dog,
didn't like your dog. They wouldn'tgive me a reason. They said,

(25:02):
like, oh, it could thehead office, it could be remodeling,
it could be They just said theyweren't able to renew the least,
and you decided to get the heckout of there. I'm an emrito.
Oh the burbs, yea, let'scrime and smog from the compared to the

(25:22):
big city of GF slash E gF N d M N. Oh you
got it. Oh, joyous daytoday, brand new iPhone drop and I
think it's a new nish our timetoday, yep, one o'clock Eastern.
It's a big deal, or isit. It's trending. It's a trending

(25:44):
deal. We'll get into it now. It is definitely trending. Excel Meddy
three, Good morning. Hello,Hey, hey, good day. Who
are we visiting with Janine? Iwant you to share that expected expense.
We're trying to make RJ feel abit better about his major car repair expense.

(26:10):
Unexpected expense from recent months, acouple of years, recent days.
What cost you a lot of money? A new furnace. Yeah, see,
that's that's what I'm worried about.Let me guess it wasn't a week
day. It was maybe like Christmasmorning. The gifts were being torn into.

(26:36):
You're just a little chilly? Isthat what happened? Thirty five people
were coming over for dinner that day. You had no choice but to pay
quadruple to get that looked at.Right, Yeah, new furnace. That's
a ticking time bomb, it reallyis. How old was the furnace?
And did you have to get thewhole sucker replaced? Guys? We had

(27:03):
to replacement all it was ten yearsold. Yeah, that's like right.
That means that that that thing hadlike an alarm clock in it, because
that's what they say the average youknow, ten fifteen years. That hurts.
That hurts. I'm playing with borrowedtime right now. You are,
you are see what you guys gotto think of? Everything is a bill.

(27:26):
I walk by the oven, Isay that's a bill because I'm gonna
have to get a new one someday. So essentially, even if it
isn't on credit, if you're goingto have to buy something later, it's
technically a bill. Everything in yourlife is a bill. And we don't
live anywhere. We could just putup a tent in your backyard right there.
What do you guys think about thatway to live? Huh? How's
how's that for advice to put asmile on your face? Shoes Bill?

(27:49):
No? Yeah, do you thinkr J's coffee cup is half full or
half empty? Today? Can Iask you? Are you a allege student?
Full time? Part time? Notat all? No? I actually
work for the school district as apair of Well, that's excellent. Where

(28:11):
do you work most days? Iwork at Red River in the autistic room.
Well, would you like to gosee a movie at River Cinema?
Oh? We could get you intothe races this last Friday, River City
Speedway. I would have to staythe movies. Do you know where we're

(28:37):

going to the theater. To thetheater, Gina, off to the theater.
What station's proud to be your yourtheater connection? Excellent? Creates am

(29:00):
I trending, Test tech Trending onExcel ninety three. Run to us by
all for Evan's cakes and more ofanswer made sweeter by treats made right here
in Grand Force. It's all forEvan's cakes and more in the Grand Cities
Mall. The iPhone is coming,Yes, Avalon Vales, it's new iPhone
fifteen today. I suppose next weekit will be the fifteen ASS or Z
or whatever. Right, but rightnow, just straight iPhone fifteen, one

(29:23):
o'clock Eastern, about noon o'clock ourtime. Okay, are you an early
adopter? Are you one of thosewho upgrades immediately? Or are you still
with the iPhone eight? You andme are with any iPhone? No,
no, we're not early adopters either. No, good lord, no,
no, no, no, onlywhen one has been necessary. Seventy seven
percent of Americans a new survey sayhaving the latest tech is at least somewhat

(29:47):
important to them. But thirty onepercent of us. I think we're in
that category. That makes us unique, Trevor, that makes us special.
Thirty one percent of people not earlyadopters. Our moms were right, Yes,
oh, early adopters. Adapters isa different type of whole plank.
Yeah, our mom's were right. We're special. That's how many said they
don't plan on buying the newest versionof any upcoming product in the future.
That said, one in four peoplehave taken on debt to get the newest

(30:11):
tech before anybody else does. NowHere are a few quick stats on the
tech spending habits, phones or thetop device we're willing to splurge on,
followed by a new computer, anew smart watch, and new gaming consoles.
Forty one percent of us have alsoregretted spending more than we could afford.
I would say one of the iPhonebuyers of the new one will regret
it in three days when the iPhonesixteen comes out. What do you think

(30:34):
the announcement will probably be Monday atleast the release date, right, Yeah,
it will. It doesn't affect me. I don't feel it doesn't affect
me at all. Things sometimes trending. I can climb a board, sometimes
against it. But it's almost likea bonus fact that we're gonna hear and
Vetch didn't know. Just SPI yourhands and new iPhone. You didn't know

(31:02):
the iPhone sixteen was released fifteen minutesafter the fifteen. That's a fact.
We'll say everything r J shared withyou. I sell ninety three dot com,
the trivity page. No time fora bet. She didn't know sell
ninety three yea unbelievable. It's waitingto use this phrase. Why don't we
have any Ennia music? Betch didn't. No times, you're random facts today.

(31:27):
Betch didn't know Enya has never goneon to her and she sold more
than eighty million albums. How wouldyou like to do that? Well?
Wasn't she wasn't that? That's Enyaright, that's in every like movie ever.
That's a sure time she did it? True? Yeah, I would
love to just sell eighty million anythinganywhere the house? Hang, what a

(31:52):
dream? What a dream? Let'stalk. You're lucky charms right now?
Okay, Betch didn't know. Aguy named John holahand invented lucky charms in
nineteen sixty four one. He decidedto see how it tasted to put pieces
of Bronx circus peanuts and his cheerios. You know, here's I want.

(32:13):
I'm going to dig into this story. Was this was this guy like in
in the Kellogg corporate ration? Didhe knew somebody? Was he was?
This? Like his deal? Iwish I had more information too, you
think so? Yeah? Because itall had good ideas and we don't nobody
cares. Nobody doesn't catch on allof a sudden become like a thing.
Oh, not to mention you andI don't pursue it either. That's true,

(32:36):
correct, that is that's a goodpoint, trup. I'm guaranteeing,
though, to make you and Ifeel better in the situation for not being
massive losers. This guy was inthe bizz. He was in the bizz.
Yep, he was a serial connoisseur. I I'm trying to transition into
the next pact. US didn't knowthey're approximately what was he guess? Active

(32:57):
serial killers? To see the number? I saw the bro already, so
I can't guess. We'll guess anyway. Okay, seven hundred twenty five to
fifty active serial killers in the USat any given moments. That sounds significantly
from the eighties and nineties when therewere four times that many. In nineteen
eighty seven, they're one hundred andninety eight active serial killers. A serial

(33:22):
killer to find is someone who's killedtwo or more people at different times.
You'd think it was somebody you'd haveto make a Netflix documentary about. But
no, just two or more.Wow, but yourm honeymoon betch did know?
Comes from a medieval tradition when couple'sgotten married, their families would give
them a bunch of honey wine todrink for one full twenty eight day cycle

(33:45):
of the moon. The wine wassupposed to be an afrodisiac. Get them
ready for living, Yes, sir, to make a baby billy little Rubik's
Cube, all right, I justdidn't know. The inventor was Erno Rubic
and it took him one month tosolve it the first time. The cube

(34:06):
first invented in Hungary in nineteen seventyfour, but it wasn't sold as a
toy puzzle internationally until nineteen eighty.Well, there you go. If it
took the inventor a month to doit, don't feel bad. No,
I feel much better now about allof the frustrations because those people who can
do it in a second, Idon't know how they do it instead of
you, And I like taking stickersoff these over here and yeah, all

(34:29):
right, feeling better? Feeling better? Let me put it this way your
Tuesday morning. More on a warringyes, or on let excel ninety three?
Have you ever let's play? Haveyou ever right now? Have you
ever acted out on random people onlineor in real life and then realized that
someone you knew was watching. Ohno, but I had said things I

(34:52):
probably shouldn't. When I realized somebody'sgrandma is also my friend, all I
forgot. Ye I've got an extremeversion of that hero. Forty eight year
old anger ball from Florida named ArmandoMessiates arrested last week after chasing down a
group of teens and pointing a gunanthem. Now, it's unclear what's set

(35:12):
Armando off, but it was apparentlysome kind of road rage incident, because
he aggressively chased their car in histruck, forced them to turn down a
dead end street, and confronted themwith a gun. Oh boy, Now
that's when Armando noticed one of thekids was his neighbor from across the street.
Oh so he cooled off and said, oh, my bad, bro,

(35:34):
and went back to his truck anddrove away. Tell me he doesn't
end there, My bad. Thekids had been driving to school, and
when they got there, they reportedthe altercation to the police. Armando now
facing charges of resisting officers and aggravatedassault with a deadly weapon. Wow,
some of the kids parents are pressingcharges too. Four year old man from

(35:57):
Florida, Armando Messiate, pointed agun some teens during a road rage incident,
realized one of him was his neighborand said, oh, my bad,
bro, My bad bro, sorryabout that ConTroll off. He was
arrested. And that is now ourthirty fifth trip to Florida. Florida.
Just hot these last couple. Yeah, they have been two days in a

(36:19):
row. There should Tuesday morning moreon a war birthday boy Ben Folds today
celebrating a birthday number fifty seven, and oh man, what a celebration it
was. I think that was thereason there were thousands of people at the
Potato Bowl parade on Saturday celebrating ourJay's birthday. Yeah, yeah, I

(36:40):
was doing the birthday I wish ishere. My mother Tech said, hey,
Nover, get to do it.A happy blated to you, but
you wished me on Friday. Nevermind, thirty Helens. One Helen can't
be wrong. One Helen cannot bewrong. Fifty Helen's agree on that.
Yes they do. Hello all yougreat Helen's listening, whether it be in
Grafton or anywhere. See. Iwould have been here at my parade Saturday

(37:00):
except for the whole car trouble. The whole point of this day's question and
that funny that happened on my birthdayweekend. That happened on my birthday weekend,
I mean grabbed in it's a city, yes, but you're almost you're
close to farm country. You don'tknow anyone with the horse gonna gallop down
A twenty nine. Yeah, yeah, I'm afraid I probably would have made

(37:20):
it on time, but I guessI could have taken a horse. Hollywood

DQ to do your own damage.Awesome, that sounds fantastic. Thank you
so much. Well, happy birthdayto you, Ashley, Yes, thank

(38:27):

old thing before we go ninety threeminutes commercial free coming up. RJ so
long self serves sort of machines atMcDonald's. Yeah, I'll tell you all
about it. Ex Sell Nutty three. Good morning, Hi, this is

(38:53):
a good morning, good morning.Who are we visiting with? This is
Sena. How are you day?And I think we're pleased to be at
work. The boys are back todayright on Share and this poor boy not
me, the other one. RJ had a major car expense last week
and we're trying to make him feelbetter today Share a recent unexpect that expense

(39:14):
from your life. My son trippedover the cat and the dog and threw
his hip boat. So yeah, your son threw his hip out, or
he threw the cat's hip out.No, he threw his hip boat.
Oh so now it's chiropractor and well, as we know, they're not teeth,

(39:37):
so no, it's funny on likeAmazon Prime Day or Black Friday,
there's never a chiropractor punch card onsale. Yeah, and visits. There
should be a pace of one medicalcupons these days. That's a good idea,
Trevor, because yeah, seriously,Yeah, the kids they should be
Yeah, maybe we should go backto school become chiropractors are jay and we

(40:01):
could throw off that discount. Ormaybe we shouldn't even do the back.
I just reather to tell other peopleto put out the cubans. Huh,
we'll open a chiropractor office and justspell it different. So then with a
ky no, it don't know,Yeah, unless that's how you spell it
already. I don't know. Ididn't finish school. Well, what can
we do for you here? Wecan get are you a college student any

(40:24):
way, shape or form? No, would you like to go to the
races this last Friday at River CitySpeedway? Oh, we can send it
a River Cinema and go check outa movie. Let's go to the theater.
Oh, Dana, you made myday. And maybe you can park

(40:47):
in one of those blue spaces withyour son and bring him with you.
Oh yeah, he's actually kind ofa handy little nugget to have around now,
isn't he. Yeah, he's gonnapay for himself and no time,
Yes he will exactly. Hey,Dana, what station's proud to be your
River Cinema Theater connection Excellent ninety three. It's not for one more thing on

(41:09):
Excel ninety three. One more allright? I know say it can always
be rainbows on the corns and butterfliesevery single story we report, the hard
hitting news like this times. Yeah, gotta share it with you, just
see, you know. And Iknew this was coming because Gateway McDonald's they'd

(41:31):
revamp the inside redone the inside, and I generally, like normally, I
guess when I get to go orders, they don't get the fast food fountain
pomps. I know what profit marginthey make of that, except for McDonald's
because they do it so well. They do it so well, and for
the longest time they were all abuck, didn't matter how just the size
correct. I think they're dollar thirtynine now. I mean, that's an

(41:52):
amazing break. I see, Ihad two choices of stories today, Trevor.
I was either going to tell youall about the Disney pricing crease,
the Disney and Hulu price increase bylike three dollars each or this one.
But I'm gonna do this one.I think you see what I did there.
I was able to put two terriblestories in together just by just telling
you. Is he you see whatI did there? No? Okay,

(42:13):
So here's what happens. And weall did this when we were a kid.
You go that, you go tothe fountain, you put like one
hundred different flavors, or all thedifferent flavors. You call it small water
or a graveyard or suicide or sewageor pop bomb or hurricane. Right,
there was all these different terms forright, you put your orange, and
then the coke and then the doctorpepper. Did you do that? Oh?
For sure, okay you did.But that's goodbye unless you unless you

(42:36):
can ask the person behind the counterto do that for you. So McDonald's
is getting rid of the self serveddrink stations and transitioning to the system where
the employees will fill the cups. Now they aren't taking away the free refills
though, but they do think thissystem will cut back on theft and be
more hygienic, you know. Andthere are more of the people to say
I'll take a water cup and thenthey go Philippie. They had a ruin

(42:57):
it for everybody. The biggest factoris they're not as necessary anymore. See
few where people are eating inside therestaurants. More people are ordering pick up
or going through the app. Buthere's the only good part of this is
that the change is not going tohappen overnight. In fact, the shift
is going to happen at a glacialpace here pretty slowly over the next ten
years. Okay, they're gonna phasethem out by twenty thirty two. So

(43:19):
the most likely are some other McDonald'sin our listening area that's still have the
fun. They're still going to haveit outside, you know, a lot
of them. If I were McDonald's, I if I had made this plan,
I would just wait until the popmachines died, you know, whenever
they fail. That's what they're doing. Kind of seems that way, Yeah,
because they do have the best phonepop oh the best. I would
place my orders, sit there andtry to blow down three coke zeros in

(43:44):
five minutes as I'm waiting for myorder Delicious and my Delicious game is over.
I mean, I can just handit back. Yeah, but how
embarrassing is that? And they knowpeople like me. I wouldn't. I
will never even ask for I willnever ask for reveale. I can't do
it. I feel like I'm inVenien scene and that's why they can do
the dollar thirty On any side,I know the world is full r j's

(44:06):
that are never going to come backask for a free room fall and song,
So enjoy your re phills while youcan. It's Tuesday. Yeah,
I know, not a lot tocelebrate, but they pay me to be
perky. Are you even on Instagram? Yeah? The Trevor d In the
