Speaker 2 (00:08):
Cowboys.
Speaker 1 (00:11):
This is Cowboys storyline presented by Gillette, the official shave
of the Dallas Cowboys.
Speaker 3 (00:19):
Here's Nick Eatman, What's up? Welcome to Cowboys storyline presented
by Gillette. Thursday, November thirteenth, Getting closer to Cowboys' next
game against the Las Vegas Raiders, first game ever in
a regular season setting in Las Vegas. We'll leave on
(00:42):
Sunday afternoon, get ready for the Monday night game. Back
to back Monday night games sandwiched around a bye week
and a lot of other stuff that we've been talking
about all week. Has been a great week of shows
and calls, and it's been therapeutic, I think for a
lot of people, myself included a lot of different perspectives
(01:05):
out there and getting back to football. Though it is
a Wednesday type schedule for the team. You know now
that it is Thursday, but Wednesday, Thursday, Friday, travel, Saturday,
play Sunday, that's kind of the schedule. When it gets
shifted like this, then they kind of change things up
a little bit. But much needed break for this team
(01:27):
for multiple reasons, but I think getting back to football
will probably be a good thing for everyone. So again,
we'll talk about whatever you guys want to talk about.
Because I know some people haven't called in a lot
this week, but we have had I got it, thirty
two different callers had a thirty five thirty five calls,
(01:49):
thirty two people. That's pretty awesome. All right, let's go
to Brian in Kansas City. Starts us off, Good morning, sir, morning,
How are you doing?
Speaker 4 (01:58):
Pretty good man? I'm glad to talk to you today.
Really really appreciated what Jeremy and Ali shared with us yesterday.
And it's been a tough week, and you know, it
really encapsulates that idea that you never know what anybody
else is going through or has gone through, right right,
you know, And I just really appreciate that. And it
(02:21):
was only a week ago that I said, hey, where's
Anthony and Miami? There he was, and he popped in.
So I was glad to hear from him.
Speaker 5 (02:28):
And of course we all we all wish Cowboy Nico
the best.
Speaker 3 (02:32):
Sure I've got about Brian, I've got about I don't
want to say how many, because I should, I should
have a hundred but I've got a short list of
people that I'm like, oh, I'd like to hear from
this week, you know, and I usually don't do that,
but there are some this week, especially since we're playing
in Vegas this week.
Speaker 4 (02:54):
That's right, come on now, Yeah, we would expect Rob
to have something to say about that.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
We would How are you okay? Ryan? What do you
got hey?
Speaker 4 (03:04):
You know, uh, this week? You know, every every time
we think we're playing, somebody would be like, hey, this
we could just put this in the win column. You know,
somebody I don't know which, which show I was watching,
but somebody said, you know, the Cowboys defense is where
offenses go to dreams. And you know, we're hoping that
(03:26):
this is going to be different. We've obviously made a
ton of changes. I'm curious into what is it going
to look like with that many new people on the field.
And I'm going to count you know, Agent zero is
a new guy because he's not played in this game. Yes,
you know, so he's coming back. Yeah, he knows the
(03:47):
other players, some of them, you know, not Logan Wilson
and Quinn Williams. So I'm just curious what you think
about how is that going to congeal in only. Thank
god we had a week off to to do it.
But you know they've been Logan Wilson and Williams have
had time to look at the playbook and hopefully get familiar.
So I'm just curious what you think about that. And
(04:10):
for my eighth for my zach in Atlanta's double agent,
the only person that came to mind when I thought
about it was the big win Amari Cooper if you
got a story on him, brother, all right.
Speaker 3 (04:23):
That's a good one, thanks, Brian. A couple of things there.
Who what do I think this defense is going to
look like? You know, I'm not asking for a lot.
Where I'm asking for is a few stops, a few
stops a game. You know, you look at that Bears
game back in Week three. I mean that was a
one sided score obviously, but I don't know if the
(04:45):
Bears dominated the game as much as they did one
third quarter drive where they had the ball for ten
full minutes and they converted five third downs and one
fourth down, and so that was the perfect drive for them.
And you think about a Quinn and Williams or Logan
wilsoner anybody that can just get off the field. Just
(05:09):
make a play. Make a play when it's third and
seven and you forced you know, you got in the
backfield and they threw it away. Now that they punt,
I mean, it just changes everything. And this is that's
what this team needs to the worst third down team
in the league, that they need to get off the
field on third down. So that's why I'm kind of
holding out hope that just having a little better players
(05:30):
here and there on this particular play can get you
off the field. Here, get the ball at the fifty
instead of the twenty, and then you go score and
now you've changed the complexity of the game. That's what
I'm thinking of. So that's one thing about defense. And
then as far as Amari Cooper, you know, I actually
(05:51):
did the first interview with him with the Cowboys when
he he flew into town and met with with the
coach I met with I guess it was Garrett and
met with him for a while and then I did
the interview. It was one of those that are supposed
to wait around and do the interview at five o'clock
and then by seven forty five, I'm like, this is
this happening? And they finally did and It was the
(06:12):
worst interview I've ever done in my life because I
let him do exactly what he wanted to do, which
is not talk. You know, I didn't. I didn't do
what we call the I didn't take the on ramps
and when the guy says, yeah, this is you know,
I'm excited to be here and get started. I got
a chance to talk to some of the players. That's
why I should have been like with who and that
(06:33):
kind of stuff. I was just I just let him
do the interview. It was not good. It was Amari.
You know, he wasn't one of his best because he
doesn't love doing interviews, and I didn't help him any
So that's one thing I remember about about Amar was like,
I'd like to think I've gotten better at interviewing players
than that, because that one wasn't good. All right, Sergeant
Sue fort Worth, what's up at ease?
Speaker 6 (06:52):
Everybody?
Speaker 3 (06:53):
Yod Man, how are you hey?
Speaker 7 (06:55):
Real quick?
Speaker 8 (06:56):
I'm calling in, but I'm really calling on behalf of Nico.
Nico reached out up to me, and yeah, he reached
out to me and Irene. We've been talking, you know,
last couple of days or whatever, and he reached out
to me. He actually dropped his phone and he broke
it at the screen, so he can't text message or
he can't call. He was able to send me a
voice message, but he wanted me to just to call
(07:17):
in real quick and thank everybody for the prayers and
the kind words. He's specifically mentioned, you know, Irene, Randy, Mike, Sebastian, Rick, Mama,
Nick and Moore. He said he's training somebody right now,
so he's not able to listen live while he's training somebody,
but he goes back and he listens at the end
of the day. But he wanted me to just let
you guys know that he's doing well. All the thoughts
and everything that you guys are saying has them, you know,
(07:39):
feeling really good, and you know he just had go Cowboys.
I do want to say real quick, Nick, since I
feel like I've been clogging the line this week, I
just want to go ahead and throw my prediction out there,
and I won't I won't call in tomorrow. I'm going
Dallas thirty one twenty. I think the defense looks a
little bit better, but then afterwards everybody's gonna say, well,
it's the Raiders, all right. Thank you brother.
Speaker 3 (07:58):
Yeah, well you know what right now? I mean, to
be honest, it's the Cowboys, and so what is that?
What is it's the Raiders whatever they got to win games.
I mean I would have said the same about the
Cardinals with Jacoby Brissett, who looked like the team I
kind of thought they would look like last week against Seattle.
So the Cowboys, you know, the Cowboys, they're not They're
(08:19):
not above anybody right right now. In terms of that, now,
you said something about clogging the line. Nobody clogs the line. Nobody.
Nobody does that here. You call in, you they you know,
Chris answers if it rings, it's you. You know, if
you want to call in fourteen days in a row
or once a year, whatever it is, like, nobody clogged
(08:41):
the line. It is what it is. We might keep
you on the line, you know, you might. You might
tell once of stories over and over and then we'll
have to figure that out. But no, as far as
calling in, I mean, uh, and and actually you know
for sergeants suit to to to talk to Nico, reach
out to him. You know that's you said it Monday, right,
(09:05):
you said, I've got two years. I'll give one of them.
I'll lend one of them to anybody. I thought that
was a really awesome thing that you said, and so
and you're doing just that, so let's not forget you,
and and how awesome you are for doing that. And
then and then you also said Irene, which just so
happens to be our next caller, how you doing Irene?
Speaker 9 (09:29):
Hey do well?
Speaker 3 (09:30):
How are you doing better than Monday?
Speaker 9 (09:33):
I mean, yeah, yeah, And it's emotional. I'm not I
tend not to be that emotional a person, but hey,
that was very real. So you know, like I said,
I had some polished things to say, and I was like, nope,
life took over there and I think that was good,
so good. And I will say I was very proud
of especially because I'm a female, right so it's a
little bit more expected. I'm very proud of the guys
(09:54):
who were very vulnerable on the show throughout the week, so,
you know, shouts out to everybody. Football side of things,
I guess I didn't get a chance to react to
the trades at all, so obviously extremely excited about Quentin Williams.
You know, nice move. I told Travis. I was like, man,
if they got I was I was waiting for the
(10:16):
Minka fitzpatter. Sorry, I guess I can say names you can't.
I was waiting for that or a some safety to
work out.
Speaker 10 (10:23):
I was like, I would.
Speaker 9 (10:24):
Scream on the air. So he didn't quite get to that.
But I still like the moves a lot, Logan, because
we've talked a lot about quinnin I have really a
seventh round pick for somebody who's better than what we have.
I don't care. I mean, that's that's great to me.
That's a good use of your draft capital. I did
(10:45):
have a question for you on him though, So with
him in the lineup, I assume he's going to be
the green dot, right, Okay, does that mean that potentially
like Marist has played middle life, but he can play
on the outside. He can do some past rushing stuff.
Do you think it will impact him to be on
(11:07):
the on the field more where they don't have to
rely on him having to line people up and then
just use his speed and power. So that's sort of
what I'm looking for with the truth.
Speaker 3 (11:18):
All right, Yeah, thanks, thank you, thanks for the call.
And man, the linebacker position is so up in the
air right now with with you know, Logan Wilson coming
back and then have or no, I'm getting signed and
traded for Let's see how I can talk right today,
he added Logan Wilson. This will be his first game.
(11:39):
We'll see exactly where he is going to play, uh
and also how much he plays. You know, just because
he's a veteran doesn't mean he's going to come right
in and be able to tell everyone what to do
and where to go, which is what they need. That's
what they need more than anything. So you've got new
faces coming into this defense, and you know, we'll see
(12:00):
how they all gel together. Somebody's gonna to come off
the field, you know, and you're gonna see less of
probably Kenneth Murray and and and maybe marys Leaf out
less of him, and probably less of Shamar James too.
But I'm sure they have a plan for how they
wanted to use these guys, and and you know some
will have to play something on special teams. But you know,
(12:23):
they they know what they needed. Then they went out
and got a linebacker, and then they have overshrown coming back.
So this is a good problem to have. It they
haven't had enough linebackers. Now maybe they have more than
enough to kind of get the job done, all right,
Sebastian and Savannah George's.
Speaker 11 (12:38):
Next good treatman.
Speaker 12 (12:40):
How you doing?
Speaker 3 (12:40):
I'm good man, How are you?
Speaker 13 (12:43):
I'm good?
Speaker 11 (12:43):
You know what it is, and it's a love about
saving the Cowboys nation if they need it. I was
doing a little thinking about what we need to do
moving forward. As far as Brian Shohan Himer is closing
out his season. You know, of course, we're not giving
up on the season. And like I said it before
when I said I wanted when we had a William
you know, the timing of it off, but that was
exactly what I was talking about it that one call
a couple of weeks back when I was saying that
(13:04):
we needed to build going forward but also looking into
this year. Who knows how the season's going to end,
but we need to build a culture of winning going forward.
So give it everything you have for these next eight nine,
whatever however many games they're eleft, and just put it
all out there. It doesn't matter how the record ends
the end of the season, because he needs to get
as many wins with this team as he can going
(13:26):
forward to build a winning coach or to carry into
next year and That's how Philadelphia and all those other
teams got so good their following year, where like they
went to super Bowls and playoffs and stuff like that,
because they built a culture of winning heading into the
next season. And as far as the kind of the
year review the halfway point, I don't think when this
started out anyone thought the offense is going to be
(13:46):
this good and the defense was going to be this poor.
Like literally it was Ricky, Bobby. If you're not first, your.
Speaker 14 (13:50):
Last, That's how it is for our defense.
Speaker 11 (13:53):
But I'll hang up and listen, you guys have a
great day. I'll get to the next one.
Speaker 3 (13:55):
Than Seian. He love with Sebastian calls. You know, I
don't know what it is. It's just I like the way.
I like the word choices that he uses. And he's
got he's got a lot of energy. It's good. Chris, Yes,
where's the game this week? Vegas? Are we going to
(14:17):
go out in Vegas? Not like really really go out?
Speaker 8 (14:21):
Right?
Speaker 3 (14:21):
We're kind of limited in what we can do with
the NFL rules, That's correct. It should be fun though, right?
Speaker 10 (14:28):
Fun?
Speaker 3 (14:28):
Do we know anyone in Vegas? Like one guy who
Rob When is he ever gonna call just kidding right now,
there you go. What's up?
Speaker 9 (14:46):
Man?
Speaker 3 (14:48):
Good? How are you been?
Speaker 12 (14:50):
I've been good. But unfortunately they had the nerve to
put a camera in my work truck.
Speaker 3 (14:55):
All right, talk to me about this, Talk to me
about this. I want to hear this story.
Speaker 12 (15:00):
So I work for the phone company out in Las Vegas.
There's only one been at thirty thirty four years. I
work for them, and I have a company truck. So
they decided to put cameras in all the work trucks.
And now if you pick your phone up, if you
(15:20):
hit the brakes too hard, this this camera goes crazy
and it sends pictures to my boss. And then I
get an email with my face. Why you're on the
phone right on the phone, you know. So I'm like, oh, man,
just when you're driving to work, as soon as you
start the truck and put the truck in drive, the
(15:41):
cameras activated.
Speaker 3 (15:42):
So are you not allowed to talk on the phone
to anybody?
Speaker 12 (15:46):
Nope, you have to have hands free or you know,
you try to put it on speaker. But when I
call into the show, you know, I have the phone
in my ear. Right now, I'm sitting in the.
Speaker 3 (15:57):
Park lot your boss is not a Cowboy fan'.
Speaker 12 (16:01):
He's actually a Raiders fan.
Speaker 3 (16:04):
So got it?
Speaker 11 (16:05):
You know?
Speaker 3 (16:05):
And so but so let's let's wait, wait a couple
of things. That what I'm what I'm translating here. You
can't really talk on the phone, you can't call as
much here, or you'll have your own car payment.
Speaker 12 (16:17):
Right maybe maybe so so I probably not.
Speaker 3 (16:22):
No, I think you're okay. I mean, like it's it's annoying,
but it beats the alternative, right.
Speaker 12 (16:30):
Yeah, it is annoying because I start at eight o'clock
that you guys come on at eight, and then I drive.
I picked my truck up closer to my house and
then I go to my office. I don't get there
until about eight thirty. So usually I call while I'm driving.
Speaker 3 (16:45):
All right, let's go.
Speaker 12 (16:46):
So now I got a small window to get in.
Speaker 14 (16:48):
But today I got three things.
Speaker 3 (16:51):
I got three things for you. I mean, I'm going
to be asking the questions, all right, all right, number one,
we're going to go quick here. Number one. Do you
like the Quinn and Williams straight?
Speaker 12 (17:02):
I do, But I wish they would have gave up
two number ones for Sauce Gardner instead. I think you
know he's a good player, but we have a lot
ready there. Could you imagine, especially because I think Diggs
is going to be gone, you could have took that money,
put it towards Sauce Garden, who's already on the contract.
I know it's big thirty million, yeah, but now you
(17:24):
could have Sauce Gardner revel and now you stick Bland
in a slot where he has to be because he's
not good on the outside. I think that would have
been a way bigger impact. You gave up a one
and two for Williams, you give up two number ones,
which you have you had you know he has the
ability to do. To me, Saurce Garden is a way
more impactful player than Quinn Williams.
Speaker 3 (17:46):
Okay thoughts on on tragic situation.
Speaker 12 (17:53):
It's awful. Listen, anytime a young person loses their life.
I mean, my youngest daughter's twenty. I couldn't the family,
you know, I always look it towards the family, you know. Unfortunately,
I lost my dad two months ago, right, and it
sucks because he was like guy, you know, he was
(18:14):
eighty eight. That was my guy. And within two years
I lost my mother and father and you know, I
never had to live through that. I was lucky. I'm
almost sixty and I try to explain my kids. I says, listen,
you guys are lucky. You got your grandparents, and I'm lucky.
I can't complain. I just feel bad for the parents.
I feel bad, but I always feel bad more. My
(18:37):
mother always taught me, always worry about the living. The
living is the one you know. And I realized what
she's talking about. You know, when you're gone, you're gone,
and you hope you're in a better place. We hope
they're in a better place. It's the living that has
to keep living. And so those are the ones I.
Speaker 3 (18:57):
Always feel, all right, where will you be at the game?
Where will you be on Monday night at the game
at home?
Speaker 12 (19:05):
But no, I'll be I'll be in my living room
watching it on my eighty five inch TV. My son
has season tickets. He sold. He could sell those tickets.
I think he sold the ready to cover the whole
almost the whole entire season.
Speaker 3 (19:19):
I've heard that before, so.
Speaker 12 (19:21):
I said, do it. I said, First of all, football
is better on TV. It just is now if you're
into tailgating and and uh and stuff like that. But
I just think football is better, especially pro football. College
football I like better in person, but pro football I
just think his mates and TV just the way they
(19:43):
shoot it and the yeah replay, And honestly, as a
Cowboys fan, I don't want to be surrounded by all
of these Raider fans.
Speaker 7 (19:51):
You know.
Speaker 12 (19:51):
I I know how it is, I know where his
seats are. I've been there before. So uh and listen,
if I thought for sure we were going to win,
go but nothing like going have to take abuse and lose. Yeah,
So all right, Rob, let's see what happened.
Speaker 3 (20:10):
Great to hear from you. It's been a little bit.
I understand your situation. Hopefully you can figure out a
way to still call like you did here this time.
So good stuff. Thanks thanks for call. Let's go to
break here on Cowboys storyline presented by Agilette.

All right, this segment is presented by Yetti, officially licensed

Cowboys Storyline. We've had five callers, and I was talking
earlier about how many different callers we've had in the
first three days of this week and this show. We've
had a few repeats except for the last one, which
(22:38):
was Robin Vegas, which is surprisingly this was the first
call of the week. He kind of explained why I
got good to hear from him. Let's go back to
another regular that calls a lot, probably more than anybody,
Lester in Minnesota. Lester, what's up?
Speaker 17 (22:54):
Good morning, my friend?
Speaker 7 (22:56):
How are you amen?
Speaker 18 (22:59):
Good?
Speaker 17 (22:59):
Great phone call from Rob and he just needs to
get rid of that flip phone. He can call a
little more.
Speaker 3 (23:05):
Yeah, you know, maybe he needs to get a bat
phone or something like that.
Speaker 17 (23:12):
Hey, I just called and.
Speaker 3 (23:13):
Uh, I just thought of that. Sorry, that's what we
should do, though, you know, we got I think at
and T and the Cowboys have a sponsorship. I think,
you know, maybe maybe maybe that should be the captain
of the year gets gets a phone that he can
call all the time. Mm hm, you think about that, gotcha?
All right?
Speaker 17 (23:32):
Sorry, all right, that's all right man. I just wanted
to concur what you said about the callers. That's great, man.
I hadn't heard from Anthony and Floyda for a while.
I'm glad he called in. And then and like you said,
Robin and everyone who called in the new callers as well.
I just called in the data to give my score.
(23:54):
I pretty much said all I needed to say this
this week. My score bet thirty three twenty three cowboys,
No cowboys, All right.
Speaker 3 (24:04):
Let's appreciate that. Thirty three to twenty three. That sounds
like a fun game. I'm looking at some of the
guys from the last few shows that haven't we haven't
really heard from in a while. So Tuesday, November the
fourth was our last show before the Bible. No, that's
(24:26):
not true. We did. We did Wednesday the fifth, that's right,
Wednesday in the fifth That was the that was our
last show. We've Had'll be a few people that I'd
like to hear from this week. This is one. This
is one of them. I have a few the written
down and here's one. All right, Lewis and Langston, what's up?
Speaker 6 (24:45):
Not much?
Speaker 18 (24:46):
Man?
Speaker 6 (24:46):
Be trying to get.
Speaker 3 (24:48):
You're on my list. You're on my list of people.
And basically, you know, I have I keep a running total.
I have stats of everything, and I have a running
total of stats of who calls a lot in the
most and all. So when I look at this week,
some of the people I haven't heard from, and you know,
yesterday was Anthony and Ali and today rob and and you,
(25:09):
and then there's a few others. And so maybe Robbie
Coco Beach, I haven't heard from him, like to hear
from him. So anyways, Louis, what do you got? This
is your call? What do you got?
Speaker 6 (25:19):
No much?
Speaker 18 (25:20):
Man?
Speaker 6 (25:20):
I just wanted to calling. I hadn't been able to
get through life. Been crazy for the last couple of weeks,
and I know it's definitely been for y'all for the
last week. So my condolencens to Marshaan and family, My
condolences to all the people who have been through that.
I had to go through it in high school losing
a friend, so I know it's been real hard, especially
for the people who have been real close to him,
(25:41):
even the people who aren't close to him, because it
affected me and I don't know the young man at all,
so I definitely understand for all the people who have
called him and sung his praises and blessed him and
his family. I just wanted to call. I haven't been
able to get in in the last couple of weeks.
I've been a little friend straighted watching the Cowboys, so
I'm gonna get to get to that. A little frustrated.
(26:05):
Has been an up and down roller coaster. Can't be
mad at that. It's it's that's the game of the
entertainment for myself and my family. I enjoyed the trades.
The trades were fantastic. I've been asking for a big
dude in the middle. I I don't I never wanted
to hate on Mazie. I was hoping it worked out,
but apparently it didn't. So hopefully he gets to it's
(26:27):
better on the other side for him, and then before
I get off her. I didn't get to listen to
last night's show, but I was thinking about this and
maybe I missed it. Maybe I missed it or so,
so I might go back and listen to it.
Speaker 18 (26:40):
Who who is?
Speaker 5 (26:41):
Who are your starting for down lineman?
Speaker 6 (26:44):
And who will be your starting three linebackers?
Speaker 3 (26:50):
Overshawn comes in, Yeah, well you got me, You got
me on that one.
Speaker 18 (26:56):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (26:56):
I think whoever, thanks for the call. Lewis is good
to hear from you, you know, I'm I don't know.
I don't know between Osa and Kenny Clark. I would
imagine Quinn Williams is gonna start, but between those two guys,
I don't know how they're going to rotate it. And
(27:17):
it also might be you know, a combination of of
what works best with the ends that you have, you know,
so this might be one of those things kind of.
I think of it like basketball. Sometimes your sixth man
off the bench is not your sixth best player, you know,
it's just what they want to provide a little spark
and on that second wave. The same I think with hockey.
(27:38):
I don't know hockey that well, but I think the
way they do the line changes and things like that,
it's it's not always just your best guys start, so
in a rotation like this, they might have something a
little bit different in place. That doesn't mean he's first,
he's second all that. So I say that to say,
(27:58):
maybe Kenny Clark is on the second team, second wave.
But again, we'll see what happens there those three linebackers.
I wouldn't it wouldn't be surprising if Overshown is not
a starter right away. I don't know how many snaps
he's gonna get. I think Logan Wilson can get in
here and start. He should be in football shape. He
shouldn't understand what they're trying to do, you know. And
(28:21):
I you know, the interesting one is gonna be Kenneth Murray,
just how much he plays and and and what they
do there. But I still think you'll you'll see a
combination of Murray and and and obviously Logan Wilson, and
then maybe somewhat you know, between Marist and Shamar, but
again probably Marius and then Shamar might be a really
(28:42):
good I think you'd be a great nickel linebacker third
and eight, third and nine if you can get to that,
you know, having a guy come in fresh with a
lot of speed and tenacity to get get to the football.
So they just have a lot more depth there now,
and that's certainly a good thing. All right, Anthony and
Miami you we've been talking about you a lot, Anthony.
Speaker 7 (29:04):
I know, right, Hey, NICKI quick, my guy, my guy.
You and Chris listen, I had a little time and
I'm talking to love you boy. We was interacting a
little bit today on the chats and stuff like that,
so got to chill with him on the live chats.
I've never really do it, but I did it. I
want to say something because late last night, of course
(29:24):
I told you, I watched every like Jeremy said, and
it's about him a little bit from DC one of
my favorite callers too, because the laugh is infectious, man,
the laugh is infection. Nick, did you hurt anybody today?
I love it? But here and his story and I leave, man,
I mean, we want to keep the football going. And
I did what I did. Yes, they gave my scores
(29:45):
and all that. But man, if you guys, man, you guys,
the stories, bro the stuff you've overcome, and I know
this stuff had to be a trigger for you as
it is for a lot of us. Nico the Cowboy Listen, Guys,
I'm on YouTube only. I have no connection to no
social media. Gave it up about a year ago. That's
why I can't be on the storyline. So of course
(30:07):
I want to be. I'm so happy I'm on the
first team, but I want to be on that interact,
but I can't. The only thing I do is YouTube comments.
After hanging with the boys and after the storyline. People
have seen me on their za. I can see me
on the ring and I'll make a comment, always a
positive comment. So if you guys check that out after
each show or whatever and find me, man, I'm like sergeants, Sue,
(30:28):
I'm always available because those stories, bro, you never know
who's hurting. I'll give my number. I'll make time. You
know what I'm saying. I'll make time. That's all I
want to say. Nick, I appreciate the time.
Speaker 3 (30:38):
Love it. Thanks Anthony. You know you guys. You guys
are putting the story in the storyline for this week.
I mean, it really is. It's been. It's been phenomenal.
People have asked me sometimes when I walk down, you
know that they know I've got all my stuff in
my hand. They know of this time I'm going down
(31:00):
to the show and they'll ask me, you know, oh,
you're about to do the show, how how's the show
been this week? How the how the caller has been
any any been any bad calls or anything anybody you know,
inappropriate or whatever. And I'm like, first of all, that's
not this group, like really like this group doesn't doesn't
do that. It's pretty respectful after a bad loss. I mean,
(31:21):
you guys are great. After a win, you guys are
even better. And after a tragic situation like this, you
guys have been phenomenal, like phenomenal, this has been. I
didn't know what to expect. I talked to Derek on
Monday morning and he was a little concerned. Wasn't the word.
He was just a little anxious, I guess on how
(31:42):
this week would be with the callers calling in, and
you know, I think he's listened to a little bit,
but because he preps for his show this time. But
it's been it's been better than I even thought. And
I thought it was going to be fine, and it's
been better than that. You guys are great telling telling
great stories. Sometimes I'm the one that tells the stories
that you guys have been phenomenal, all right, Davian in Illinois. Davian,
(32:07):
what's up, dude?
Speaker 18 (32:09):
Well though, what to do? Going on? My guy?
Speaker 3 (32:12):
How you doing, Bud?
Speaker 18 (32:14):
I'm doing? Good man? Uh? Good day? Just uh yeah,
I was.
Speaker 8 (32:19):
I was.
Speaker 18 (32:20):
I was happy to hear from Captain rod Man. But
that trade for South, that's wow. No we don't do
you want for a cornerback? No, no, no, we got
we got the right.
Speaker 3 (32:32):
A little surprised. I mean, now I hate saying it now.
I didn't say it then. I was just gonna letting
him go. But you know, and I'll the next time
he calls me talked about I wouldn't. I don't think
I would have loved that either. You know, both these guys,
if we're gonna be honest, both these guys they played
the Cowboys played them what a few weeks ago? They
(32:54):
ran right over the Jets d line. So it's not
like Quinny Williams was setting the you know, the the
you know, holding down the ford or anything like that.
And then Pickings ran right by Sauce Gardener for a
touchdown too. So I get it. Change of environment is needed,
but I don't know if I would have done that.
But anyways, what do you what else is on your mind?
Speaker 18 (33:17):
Well, no, man, I just yeah, that was that was fun.
I just love it. I love me and me and
rob argu a lot of it. It's a good time y'all.
Speaker 3 (33:24):
Y'all gonna go after tonight? Is that where y'all do
the spaces to? Hey man?
Speaker 18 (33:28):
You know hey, storyline of space tonight. He won't up
come get somether. We we always we was always up
in there. Uh no, man, I think I think this week,
like I read, like I said earlier, this week, please
do not let Geno Smith be Superman this week. Just
(33:48):
just lock the team down because the office lined in
the shambles, get after the quarterback, lock up everything on
Ash genty and everything, and it's pretty much how they
got genty. And if you do that, we haven't a
good night in Vegas and we go we come back
home and see what we can do make a run
at this thing.
Speaker 3 (34:09):
That's right, all right, all right, Davian appreciate the call.
Good stuff there, And you're right, I mean you can't.
You can't let guys that you've never heard of go crazy.
You know, they even traded one of their best receivers,
you know, Jakobe Myers, they got Brock Bauers. He's their best,
you know, weapon for in the passing game. And then
(34:32):
you know Ashton genty and and like you said, their
offensive lines kind of struggling a little bit. And so
you know, I looked at some stats just to see
about teams coming off of bye week, and there's been
eighteen teams that have played after a bye and their
records are twelve and six, and six of those six
(34:54):
losses Detroit and Tampa. We're all we're both in there,
two of your better teams in the league, Detroit. So
there's no giving on anything really about just because you're
coming off by arrested. I mean, the Raiders are coming
off a mini buy. I mean they haven't played since
the last Thursday, and the Cowboys played Monday. So the
Cowboys are getting fourteen days off and Raiders get eleven
(35:17):
and they're at home. So we'll see, we'll see how
it goes. Irwin in Colorado is next Irwin.
Speaker 5 (35:27):
Hey, Nick, how you doing?
Speaker 7 (35:28):
Morning?
Speaker 3 (35:29):
Morning? How are you hey?
Speaker 7 (35:32):
Nick?
Speaker 5 (35:32):
I just wanted to touch bases with you a little bit.
I was listening earlier we were talking with Rob and
you asked him that question about Quentinn Williams. My take
on that is I absolutely love that trade. I think
Quinn Williams is going to bring, you know, the nastiness
to that defensive line. I think, I mean we all
know that the defensive line and the cornerbacks they kind
(35:54):
of like work hand in hand. If you got good corners,
you know, allows them to get pressure on the quarterback.
That defensive tackle, you know, push the pocket and get
those sacks. Stop the run any day. And on top
of that, I don't you know, I've been kind of
watching sast Gardner. I don't think Sauce Gardner is really
the same kind of player that he was when he
(36:14):
first came into the league. Yeah, you know, I want
to get your thoughts on that, and then one more
thing before you let me go. It's kind of funny
how Rob's kind of in the same situation that I
was a couple of weeks ago. I think his v
ops are probably a little bit better because I don't
I don't really think the Raiders have the same kind
of defense that the Broncos have.
Speaker 3 (36:33):
Right, Oh that's right, Yeah, you didn't want to go
to the diver? Yeah, well, a little different too. Cowboys
won the last time they played at the Raiders eight
years ago, and right, and a lot of these people
haven't even been weren't even alive the last time Covy
was won at Denver, so a little different scenario. You're right,
but I get it. I get it. I understand that
(36:54):
where your favorite team is in your backyard, so you
almost feel obligated to make it work and go. But
at the same time, if it doesn't work out, well
it's not fun. It's not a fun experience. Believe me.
I know this. I dealt with it every year for
about ten years.
Speaker 4 (37:10):
No.
Speaker 5 (37:11):
I was at the last couple of times as the Cowboys.
Speaker 18 (37:14):
Came to Denver.
Speaker 5 (37:15):
I was at there was games. So the last one
was when Tony Romeo drove him all the way down
to the other end of the end, by the other
end of the goal line there through those two passes
to Mile Austin across the you know those quick slants,
and you know, baby broke him up. I think it
was actually past interference, but I mean it was horrible.
Speaker 3 (37:35):
You know, you know not to if I remember it correctly,
and you're saying Miles Austin, but I'm I've visibly remember
Sam heard was the guy on fourth down or that
they were throwing the ball to. And I was just thinking,
really like Sam Heard versus Champ Bailey to win the
(37:55):
game or to tie the game. I was like, I
just feel like you got better options. But it was
the next week where they went to Kansas City. The
next week that's where Miles went off for two fifty.
Speaker 5 (38:06):
But yeah, yeah, yeah, that's correct.
Speaker 3 (38:09):
It was Sam Herd honestly, because I was like, you know,
because Roy Williams had gotten hurt in that game, they
had Creighton and and then Sam Heard. But at the
end of the next week they ended up going obviously
with Miles, and you know, the rest is history there.
But anyways, you're right, You're right. That was the crazy
game that then that cobways had a chance to win
that one. All right, erwin, Thanks for the call. I
(38:33):
don't yeah, I never thought about when I saw that trade.
You know, when anybody makes a trade, you're like, ooh,
could we could we've gotten them, you know, and you know,
it happens a lot like the Saints trade for uh
they traded is it? I don't want to say his name,
right she Shaheed or Shaheed? I don't I don't know
(38:54):
how to say his name right, but he's uh. He
was with the Saints. He went to the Seahawks and
you're like, oh, I didn't know he was available, and
you're like, nah, we're good here. You're good with the guys.
You guys, you don't need a receiver. So it happens
all the time. And when that trade happened, I was like, man,
could the Cowboys have got him? But I just I
wouldn't have done that. I'm with you. I just don't
know if I think he's just shut down, locked down.
(39:17):
The Colts do they think he is? So maybe that
seemed a little rich, But I'm surprised that they traded him, honestly,
because just after signing him, that's not the easy thing
to do to get rid of that contract. It's going
to break one more time on Cowboys storyline.
Speaker 19 (39:33):
I'll be right back, all right, Cowboys fans, this one's
for you. Jelet's best shape has a new look this season,

Speaker 14 (41:11):
What's up, hey, Nick?
Speaker 18 (41:12):
How you doing good?
Speaker 3 (41:13):
Man good?
Speaker 14 (41:15):
Doing better this week? Yeah, towards the end of the week.
So looking forward to the matchup on Monday.
Speaker 3 (41:19):
Sure, definitely get back to football, you know. That's that's
what that's what we and and I don't mean hard.
I don't mean that disrespects anything. I said this earlier
to someone last week. We needed a bye week so
bad this week after everything, I think we kind of
need to get back into football and get back into
the grind not and Shoddy said it perfectly. You're not
(41:41):
moving on, you're moving forward. You're not moving on, you're
not moving on from marshawn neland you're moving forward into
into trying to get back into what we call life
and reality.
Speaker 14 (41:54):
So I brought this up a couple of times, and
I didn't mean to actually talk about this state, but
I'll just bring it up real quick. I'm a criminal
defense council, right and and sometimes I take some hard
elves right right, and you know it's going to have
impacting life consequences for somebody, and it's tough, right, But
sometimes you just gotta get back into the court room
or get back into the the room and keep arguing
and doing the thing right because it helps to get
(42:16):
back to the grind, right and to sometimes it just helps.
So I agree with what Shotty said, right like, we're
not closing the chapter, we're not done writing that book,
but it's it's time to just get to business and
keep moving forward. Right, Yeah, that's what you got to do.
Speaker 3 (42:30):
I can't stand still, can't go backwards, going forward, and
you know it's we don't. You never forget, but you
move forward.
Speaker 14 (42:39):
So the reason I called is, you know, brock Bauers
kind of scares me like Taysom Hill did last year
for the Saints, and I really hope that this defense
just looks different. I don't have a score or prediction.
I'm just I'm just hoping for difference. And I'm gonna
call back to at the end of last season, like
one of the last shows we did after the season ended,
(42:59):
I said, hey, I think we're going to get to
see you know, Overstown in twenty twenty five. We won't
have twy till January twenty sixth, So I'm just really
happy to see him back. He's my guy, so I
just want to see him have a good game. I
know he'll be on somewhat of a pitch count, but
I'm just I'm hoping this defense and this team can
just show us that they have some life and have
some hope. And that's all. I'm looking forward to have
a great weekend.
Speaker 3 (43:18):
All right, Thank you so much, Josh, appreciate that. You know,
I had a text line question from Joe and Stanford.
He used to call all the time. I think he's
got a new job and new hours. You know, I
don't know if his boss is monitoring his truck phone
calls like Robin Vegas, but you know, you guys have lives.
I understand that. I mean ten o'clock. You know, Central
(43:39):
Time is eleven o'clock in the East Coast at eight
am and nine and Mountain and I feel like we've
hit all the area codes, I mean, sorry time zones today.
But you guys, you know, I appreciate you guys making
it work somehow. Joe and Stanford. His text question was
who's going to get the most snaps at linebacker or
(44:00):
this week? We've talked about it a little bit. The
most naps. I would love to say, you know, Logan
Wilson because you know, I think he's he's that's why
you added him in there, and and he's he should
be rather fresh. But he's gotta he's got to know
the defense and understand it. So if he can, if
(44:20):
he does that, that that would probably be my answer there.
You know, Chamar James been playing a lot, Kenneth Murray's
played a lot, so I won't be overshown. I don't
think it should be overshown. As far as the most
I'm gonna say that Logan Wilson gets himself ready to play,
and he's and he's right there in the middle of it. Uh,
(44:41):
That's what I would guess, all right. Zach in Atlanta
probably our last caller Today's that Hey.
Speaker 10 (44:46):
What's up? Nick and Frisco?
Speaker 3 (44:47):
How are you doing?
Speaker 10 (44:48):
I'm good man. I haven't been listening to the show,
but I understand that Rob called in.
Speaker 3 (44:54):
Yeah.
Speaker 10 (44:55):
Rob had a had Gino Casino for Geno Smith. Whenever
he went to Vegas. We had a million dollar shirt idea.
If Gino was jackpot, I mean we would have been
hitting the jackpot two selling some Gino Casino T shirts.
Didn't work out because Gino has been terrible, which leads
me to we can't lose the Raiders, can we I mean,
(45:16):
we certainly can, but we can't. I refuse to believe
that we will. They're just I mean, it just can't happen. Well,
here's here's what's What's all I was.
Speaker 3 (45:27):
Going to say to that is, you're right. Think about
the fact of at the trade deadline, who's doing what?
I mean, the Raiders are like, all right, well, this
is our best receiver. He wants out, Let's let them out.
What are the Cowboys doing? Cowboys are adding players for
now but also for the future. Cowboys are Their records
are very similar. The Cowboys have eyes on going this way.
The Raiders are probably looking more about next year. So
(45:49):
for that being said, you know, I think that's one
more reason why I think the Cowboys have got to
take care of business and win this game.
Speaker 10 (45:56):
Yeah, they have to. And that leads me to my
next point is Cowboys Nations storyline. Buckle up because this
is my favorite part of the schedule where we have
like four games and twenty days and so we're gonna
learn a lot really quickly. Our Our defense will be better.
It has to be with our auditions and people coming back.
(46:18):
I don't think we're gonna get worse. Might stay the same,
but I think it's going to get better. But we're
gonna learn a lot. And the competition after this week
is going to be real too. So buckle up. We
have we wait all off season for the season, and
here we have four games, you know, and and crunch
time with Raiders, Eagles, Chiefs, Lions, and so enjoy, enjoy
(46:41):
the right we wait all year for this good, better, worse.
It's gonna be.
Speaker 3 (46:45):
It's gonna be fun, all right, definitely, all right, man,
all right, thanks for the call. And you're right. I mean,
this is that stretch here where today Thursday? So you're
right about that? Is it?
Speaker 12 (46:58):
Is it?
Speaker 3 (46:58):
Three weeks from today is when we'll play the Lions
December of the fourth. I think that's right. I mean,
so that's yeah, twenty one days exactly. So, so twenty
one days from today they're gonna play four football games
and in three weeks, four games in three weeks from today.
When you think of playing the Raiders and then the
(47:21):
Eagles and then a Thursday game against the Chiefs and
a Thursday game against the Lions, four games in the
next twenty one days. Let's do it. Buckle up is
the right thing to say. Great show, guys, a lot
of good calls, and I think we're doing a really
good job of kind of getting our mind back into
the job at hand and what we're doing here with football.
(47:42):
And we'll see if the Cowboys can get a big win.
We'll talk about it again tomorrow though, So for Chris Beam,
I'm Nick Keatman. We've got one more show this week
before the game against the Raiders. We'll do it again tomorrow.
See then.
Speaker 1 (47:53):
This has been a production of Dallascowboys dot Com and
the Dallas Cowboys Football Club.
