Line in the SABC Studio. I'm Nicole Hutchinson alongside Breonna
Aldrich Aisha Morrison.
Speaker 5 (00:50):
Wake up, it's been a minute. No, No, that was
a good It was good. It was strong. Yeah. I
like we needed it. I like the vibes.
Speaker 6 (00:58):
It was a good one.
Speaker 5 (01:00):
You're ready to try?
Speaker 7 (01:01):
No?
Speaker 5 (01:02):
Okay, how y'all doing this morning, ladies? Yeah? Yeah? Awake? Yeah?
Mm hmmm.
Speaker 8 (01:08):
I feel I hear too much dead noise in here.
Speaker 5 (01:11):
How are y'all? Ladies?
Speaker 9 (01:12):
Y'are good?
Speaker 5 (01:14):
We're good.
Speaker 10 (01:15):
What do you want?
Speaker 11 (01:18):
Dance?
Speaker 5 (01:19):
Dance around? I don't know now. Chris Chrispy is the
game back there with this button he does? Oh, you're
impressing it. I love it. I love it.
Speaker 12 (01:29):
You know what.
Speaker 4 (01:29):
I also love listen to head coach Brian Schottenheimer. He
is like, Yeah, he always says the right things, especially
when you know you need to hear it specifically.
Speaker 5 (01:40):
Of course, with this.
Speaker 4 (01:41):
Team going through what they're going through right now. Hell,
everybody in the building going through what they're going through.
Talk about everybody in damn near the way the nation
going through what they're going through mourning. A guy like
Marshawn Neelan and head coach Shoddy talked to the media
for the very first time. It was very emotional yesterday
and I was here.
Speaker 5 (02:00):
What do you have to say?
Speaker 13 (02:03):
The culture and the guys in that locker room will
be okay because of the strength that they draw from
one another. And we've got some guys that have been
through this. I've never been through something like this this
close that it's close to home. There's guys that I
can draw from with their experiences, and everybody deals with
(02:23):
it different. Some guys getting out on the grass is
going to be the best thing the world for them.
Some guys getting out on the grass is going to
be painful, and that's okay, and we're going to give
each other grace and time. But I do promise you this,
these guys will be ready to play against the Raiders,
and we will honor Marshaan with how we play not
(02:45):
just against the Raiders but for the rest of the season.
Speaker 4 (02:51):
Let you guys hear that there's a lot of things
said yesterday from Shaddy, but you know, before we do
talk ball, because respectfully, there is still a topic that
we need to touch on, is Marshawn Nelan. We will
get into Raiders film in the next segment or possibly
this one, but you know, just hearing from Shotti for
the first time, that entire presser.
Speaker 5 (03:11):
Was about Nland as it should be.
Speaker 4 (03:14):
And ladies and y'all start with you, Bree, you know
what was kind of your favorite thing that you heard
from him yesterday in that presser.
Speaker 7 (03:22):
Well, first and foremost, I just want to really think,
not just Shoannheimer with the Cowboys for allowing their head
coach to go up there for twenty five plus minutes
and understand that this was only about marshaw Nealan answering
tough questions and he gave us the human that he's
given us all season. So I just want to say
thank you for that, because again, this whole situation has
(03:46):
I believe, brought the community together outside of this building,
saw flowers starting to go out outside to yesterday as well.
I was actually sitting it right outside the pressor because
I was going live right after it ended, and I
didn't even get to see his face till after it
I rewatched it, but listening to it did it enough
and I could hear there was certain points. We didn't
(04:07):
just show that right now, but there was a point
where he came to tears at the end. He came
to tears again when they asked him about how does
this make him feel? Has daughters close to Marshawn, a
daughter close to marshaw Eland's age, and it just hits
close to home. The biggest quote that stood out to everyone,
I think yesterday when you know, how do you gather
(04:30):
your team and how do you get ready to play
ball right Monday night? And just you know, move on
And he said that you don't move on, but you
move forward. And I think that's the part that stuck
out to me the most. And respectfully, and I like
how they're keeping the guys close to the vest and
(04:53):
this is normally the time would be in a locker
room this week and we're going to respectfully give them
their space, and they're going to bring out selected players
for us to be able to still.
Speaker 5 (05:02):
Do our jobs.
Speaker 7 (05:03):
But I was kind of like, what is it going
to feel like for the first time to go into
the locker room and to see Neland's name up there,
and then I'm sure there's like flowers and things that
we saw that was posted online a couple of days ago,
And I'm honestly just how this organization is handling it.
Speaker 5 (05:18):
I think it's just it's with grace.
Speaker 6 (05:21):
Yeah, And I think this is part of the reason
why you hire someone like a Brian Schottenheimer. I think
we've talked about it. You mentioned it earlier. Breeze. He's
always been very open with showing the human side of
who he is. And I think in a time like
this where and I'm saying for with what players that
(05:41):
are coming into the league are like now, it sounds
like that relatability is something that they appreciate from coaches.
They appreciate coaches that, yeah, I want you to run
through a wall for me, but I don't mind telling
you you know what's on the other side of the wall.
I don't mind giving you the information, and I don't
mind you asking questions because this is a league that
(06:03):
has kind of traditionally been you do what I say
because I'm your coach or whatever. But just the way
that he's handled things from the time he's gotten here.
This was one of the reasons why I thought coming
into this season that we had to see it on
the field, but we saw more than enough evidence that
this was a person that understood that he was coaching
young men and you know, kind of the totality of
(06:25):
what it is to be an athlete at this level.
So I just think in that pressure, it really to
me reassured me that, like, you know, they're still figuring
some things out on the field, but this is a
guy that gets it, that gets it. And Brie, I
think I like that you highlighted how they're handling this
situation with grace and giving the players their time and
giving them some space and giving them some time to process.
Speaker 5 (06:48):
And also for y'all, also for the folks that.
Speaker 6 (06:51):
Go in the locker room, Like I hadn't even thought
about the idea of you ladies like going in the
locker room and what that would feel like seeing him,
know him not there his space, just there and you know,
the flowers and stuff so I agree. I felt like
the way that they handled it yesterday was awesome and
I that stood out to me as well, Bray is
(07:12):
the you know, we don't move on, we just move forward.
I was like, Okay, Mic, drop shotty because I think
that's something that we made.
Speaker 4 (07:21):
Yeah.
Speaker 6 (07:22):
Yeah, I made you think, and it's something you can
carry not only into this situation, but into other situations
as well.
Speaker 5 (07:28):
Yeah. And I also loved that he was open about
just saying.
Speaker 4 (07:32):
There's no playbook to this, Like, right, there's no recipe
of how you.
Speaker 5 (07:37):
Move on from this.
Speaker 4 (07:39):
You know, I don't think anybody has the answers to that,
but it sounds like, you know, they will be playing
with you know, heavy hearts into each game for the
rest of the season, probably next year, for years to come,
you know, with this loss. And I do want to
make sure shine a light on what Solomon had said,
you know, at the visual he basically was like, you know,
(08:01):
Neeland was a guy that looked up to him, and
he appreciated that because coming from a different organization, you know,
he kind of felt like the outcast still does at times,
but like when he first got here, Nyland as a
second year guy was the one who kind of like
took him under his wing and said like, hey, like
you know, we boys like you're my big brother. I'm
gonna look up to you like I looked at you
(08:23):
and you know when you were in New York. So he
had a chance to introduce him to his wife, and
of course his wife met Neland's girlfriend Catalina and was like,
I want, you know her to take her under her
wing and things like that. So he had a lot
of guys that loved him, loved his work ethic, loved
him as a person and everything that he brought, you know,
(08:44):
day in and day out. So certainly wanted to make
sure we shine a light on Marshawn Neelan will have
a special tribute to him tomorrow on the show, So
make sure to catch up with us tomorrow. But we're
gonna take our first break early and here on girls,
boys talk and we'll get to breaking down some film
up next.

Speaker 5 (11:53):
You know what time it is?
Speaker 4 (11:54):
All right?
Speaker 5 (11:55):
But you got yeah stressing you up. I don't know not.
Speaker 6 (12:00):
This Raiders defenses, as I got into watching them a
little bit last night, they're interesting because some of the stats,
like you look at them and you're just like, Okay,
you're good here, but you're not good here.
Speaker 5 (12:10):
You're good here, You're not good here.
Speaker 6 (12:12):
This Raiders defense is led by Patrick Grammy's been the
defensive coordinator for the Raiders for the fourth year. And
you know, he was one of the coaches they retained
even though they decided to they brought in all new
coaches for you know, the Pete Carroll regime, so kind
of speaks to kind of what they thought about him
as a coach coming in and everything. When you look
(12:35):
at the Raiders defense, their defensive line, you know, we
talked about Mass Crosby briefly yesterday. On the other side
of that defensive line, you also do have a Snowden
and I do think that you know what they're Charles Snowden.
What they're able to do and run defense is a
little bit more impressive than what the rest of the
(12:55):
defense looks as itself. I mean, they're only giving up
about four yards of carry to uh two running backs
this year. They kind of held JK. Dobbinson and those
Raiders and those Raiders, those Broncos folks in check last week. Obviously,
I mean their interior, you're not gonna get a crap
ton of push from them. You're not getting a lot
(13:16):
of pressure from them. But again, as a run defense,
they're decently sound. Like they're decently sound. This is a
this is not a defense that is just gonna get
run or pass on very heavily. When you get into
their linebacker position, they have Jamal Adams as their will linebacker.
Speaker 5 (13:35):
Who is a safety is a former safety, but.
Speaker 6 (13:38):
He's been brought in and we He's always been a
player that's played close to the line of scrimmage.
Speaker 5 (13:42):
But the Raiders was just like, all right, listen.
Speaker 6 (13:44):
You want to be down the box so bad here
you're dag and it works for them.
Speaker 5 (13:49):
On that second level.
Speaker 6 (13:51):
They also have Devin white Man and the mic position
Roberts on the other side at the CM.
Speaker 10 (13:56):
The second level isn't poor.
Speaker 5 (13:58):
Like it's not poor.
Speaker 6 (14:00):
I'm not gonna say that it's a good second level,
but it's not a poor second level.
Speaker 5 (14:03):
And then you get to the safeties and the secondary.
Speaker 6 (14:07):
These guys don't give up a whole bunch, but there
will be some communication. You can't get behind these safeties
at time. Jeremy Chin familiar opponent and from I he
used to play with the Commanders the Redskins at that time.
He's a guy that can come from hash to hash
and make some play. So as a defense, I was
surprised at them when you talk about their pass rush rate.
Speaker 10 (14:29):
They're not rushing the passer well, but.
Speaker 5 (14:31):
They'll defend the well.
Speaker 6 (14:32):
They run decently twenty fifth and pass rush rate twenty
fourth and pressure rate. Like I said, they're getting very
little interior push. Tyree Wilson was a guy that they
drafted as a defensive end that I think they've been
disappointed in his output. They've been disappointed in Koot's output,
but he is recovering from a knee injury. This defense
gives about twenty four points per game. So last week
(14:55):
against the Broncos, this was a little bit of an
anomaly with them holding the Broncos to five or fifteen
on third down, one of three in the red zone
and only holding them to one hundred and fifty yards passing.
That's kind of out the ordinary for them. This is
a defense that is going to average about six sacks
per game, mostly coming from Max Casby. Mostly coming from
(15:16):
Max Crosby because he's kind of important for them. But
it's like I said, it's it's it's a weird it's
a weird defense. And I look at what what Dallas
is doing. I don't know if I know we've been
hard on the offensive line, but we since Week five,
they've been eleventh and pass blocking and tenth and pressure rate.
This isn't an offensive line that is giving.
Speaker 5 (15:35):
Up a lot of sacks either.
Speaker 6 (15:37):
They're fifteen on the league on the year, that's seventh
in the league. So I think Dallas should be able
to move the ball in spots on this Raiders defense.
Speaker 4 (15:47):
Yeah, one thing I was gonna point out was that,
like they teams have had to methodically move the ball
against them, they're not doing too much explosive plays downfield
and things like that, which is obviously a good thing
for them. But when you talk about the defensive line,
Max Crosby, I believe he's has a career low pressure
(16:10):
rate as well.
Speaker 5 (16:11):
He's asked to do a little bit more in the
run game.
Speaker 4 (16:14):
Do you what is their identity right now defensively if
they have.
Speaker 6 (16:17):
One, I think their identity really is they want to
stop the run. Like obviously against the pass, I mean
they're middle about middle of the middle of the pack
with passing yards allowed. And also too, when you talk
about third down, I want to correct myself from yesterday.
I said that they were thirteenth on third down as
an offense. I got them flipped. They are sixteenth on
(16:38):
third down as an offense, and they are thirst line
and they're thirteenth on no with me, and they are
thirteenth on third down as a defense.
Speaker 5 (16:46):
So again, you like are y'all bad or not?
Speaker 6 (16:50):
Yeah, But I also think that you're looking at a
defense that struggles from their offenses, the offense being able
to produce, so they're on the.
Speaker 5 (16:57):
Field a lot.
Speaker 6 (16:58):
So this could be a game where if they are
able to if the Raiders' offense is able to move
the ball on Dallas, this defense is no slouch to
where they're just like, oh, you're gonna move the ball
on us all day.
Speaker 5 (17:12):
There are spots where you can take advantage of them.
Speaker 6 (17:14):
This isn't a defense that's given up three hundred and
fifty yards multi multiple games this year, but Dallas is
done the same. I do think Dallas offensively is gonna
have to come on with it. They're gonna again, to me,
this is not a defense you can just sleep on.
I think they are gonna have to come on with it.
Speaker 4 (17:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (17:30):
I think when you look at Cowboys defense Raiders defense,
there's when you're talking about the struggles, there's actually a
lot of similarities.
Speaker 8 (17:38):
The difference between this squad and that's what overall is.
Speaker 7 (17:41):
We have a guy named Dak Prescott run the offense,
and they got a guy named Gino Smith who looks
like he's fighting for his life. He's been playing injured
and they just don't want to put in that backup
QB who got one snap last week after he's dealing
with this squad contusion that looks like he's dealing with
week after week. The defense, of course, Max prosby a name.
It was a name that was flowing around. People wanted
(18:02):
over here at once upon a time. Right, we know
what he brings. He's being double team like crazy and
he's still able to Like I usuld just said, get
the numbers up for this defense. I think the dbs
are pretty decent looking at them and what they're being
able to do in coverage, Like Nicole said, they don't
really give up too many explosive plays, and that speaks
volumes when you aren't able to really get pressure on
(18:26):
the QB. I looked a little bit of the Denver game,
which was so sleepy by the way, Lord nobody was scorn.
There was a meme with Bonix and Gino Smith helmets
backwards because that's how it felt like the offense was performing.
But that speaks to what the defense was able to do.
The Raiders defense kept them in that game and gave
(18:47):
them multiple opportunities. They literally shot themselves in the foot
with double digit penalties, field goal issues, and I Ashton
Genty had like a thirty yard run that got negated
by a penalty. That's what was going on with the Raiders,
Like they had multiple opportunities to win.
Speaker 5 (19:03):
Their defense kept them in that game.
Speaker 7 (19:04):
But then I went back and I was just kind
of looking at to your point, who what defense is
going to show up? You don't really know, to be honest,
because the Chiefs blew them out thirty one zip in
that game. I was like, let me just see what
was going on. Patrick maholl was running any and anywhere,
and it looked like he had time to pack the car,
(19:25):
unload and still.
Speaker 5 (19:26):
Throw the ball. Yeah, they're not getting pressure.
Speaker 7 (19:29):
Nothing they could do to stop him. When you got
to the fourth quarter, the Chiefs took out their starters
and all they did was run. For a team that's
identity is supposed to be to stop the run. To
your point, right, that's what they're built upon. Defensively, they
didn't do none that They were running wherever they want.
Speaker 5 (19:46):
They ran.
Speaker 7 (19:49):
On fourth and eight. Okay, that's what the Chiefs were
doing to them. It got disrespectful. The Raiders gave up
thirty first downs in that game. So you get a
team like that, and then you go to a team
that just put up how many points on us on
the road two weeks ago to Denver and then you
play one hell of a defensive game. But again, their
offense we talked about it is giving up? Is the leading?
Speaker 6 (20:12):
Was it?
Speaker 5 (20:13):
Where was your stat yesterday? Three and outs? Oh yeah,
it's crazy. Oh yeah, let me let me see everyone said.
I think you said like they're top five or something.
The offense don't don't the field, they don't get there,
we go.
Speaker 8 (20:27):
Their defense is doing all the works.
Speaker 7 (20:29):
That's why I said when you look at this team
as the complete opposite, because they're not helping out.
Speaker 6 (20:33):
This time of possession, A time of possession is that
they were twenty seventh in the league in time of possession,
which lets you know their defense stays on defense days
on the field, and I think that that is essentially
what wears them, wears them down. Now, what they will
do is use Jeremy Chin to come down in the
slot sometimes and defend last game, I saw him. Yeah,
he's he's kind of their chest piece. I guess you
(20:56):
want to say, so that matchup against someone like a
Jake Ferguson is something to definitely keep an eye out
on as well.
Speaker 5 (21:04):
But overall, like I.
Speaker 6 (21:05):
Said, this is this is air. Their linebackers are not bad.
I ain't been say that good because Devin White be
looking lost sometimes too, and I'm like, how are you lost?
Speaker 5 (21:15):
You're too big and grown, You've been playing this game
too long. But we can't. We have to see. Cowboys
got a slight better.
Speaker 6 (21:25):
But the defensive line like they they will stop the
run pretty efficiently and the corners will come out and help.
I know Stokes is a guy that's not okay afraid
to come up and fill in the run. Obviously, Adams
and some and because these guys are a little bit smaller,
they do have some more tweener hybrid size kind of defenders.
They can slip through, you know, some of your double teams,
(21:45):
some of your stuff. So I think that the Dallas
offensive line again that we're looking to back and bounce back,
is going to have to navigate some of their slippery,
smaller defenders being able to come up at the line
of skirmage and kind of disrupt what you want to do.
I mean, that's really what Jamal Adams is not for. Obviously,
we talked about Jeremy Chen who would come from even
the safety position or the nickel position and helping the run.
(22:05):
And then Stokes on the outside is someone that I
when I was watching him last night, I was like, Oh,
he ain't scared to come up and taka either. So
Dallas does have to be aware of that in this game.
I'm looking for Dallas to get better on a third down.
I mean they have been there six in the league
on third down, but this last couple of games, we've
seen a lot of these drives, saw a lot of
these drives, and I think if you can put this
(22:27):
offense in the in the position where they have to score,
it's going to open up opportunities for you to take
the ball away because Gino will be throwing the ball.
Speaker 7 (22:39):
But unlike the Raiders offense, I will say at least
last week I heard Sean Payton talking about the Raiders
throwing some regals and defensively that he wasn't necessarily aired for,
and that's loading up the box with six. That's something
that he wasn't expecting. And I think the frustration on
that side of in Vegas is like the offense is
(23:00):
so predictable that they can't do anything right. They're not
committing to the run, they're not going to their key guys,
like some of the key guys had like two three
targets last week. But defensively, they were able to switch
things up.
Speaker 5 (23:12):
Such a good point.
Speaker 10 (23:13):
That's such a good point about the load in the
box because.
Speaker 5 (23:16):
Those hybrid pieces. Yes, yeah, that's such a good point
that you bring up.
Speaker 6 (23:20):
Deshaun Payton mentioned and I think that's the opportunity for
Dallas to make some big plays down FeAs Yep. If
they do that, it's gonna get ugly for them. Well,
and I and I think I do. I wanted to
get dusty, and I want us to get ugly. I
want Dallas to go out here and you know, really
put their their best foot forward. Not only just on
the defensive side of the ball, but this offense really,
(23:42):
to me, I'm looking for them to kind of get
back in the rhythm and we see them do some
of the stuff that we had seen them doing previously,
Like yeah, this this this is supposed to be one
of the best offenses in the league. The last couple
of games We have not seen that production in the
red zone. We have not seen the third down efficiency.
To your point, this is a defense that will kind
of mix and shake some things up.
Speaker 5 (24:04):
Man, this offensive.
Speaker 6 (24:05):
Line that's kind of still trying to gel together, they're
going to have, you know, to communicate and make sure
they're picking up on some of these stunts and some
of these blitzes and some of the stuff that they
like to do.
Speaker 4 (24:14):
That was my question was how should Dallas playing those
protections to keep Max Crosby from wrecking the game?
Speaker 5 (24:20):
Like you can?
Speaker 6 (24:21):
I mean, really, Max is a guy that like the
tenacity in which he plays with is that you're gonna
have to keep coming at him.
Speaker 5 (24:27):
So either you need to.
Speaker 6 (24:29):
I'm not so He's not one of those defenders that
if you run at him, he's gonna quit. But fatigue
is real, and being on the field for a long
period time is real, and so I think if Dallas
can you want to have like some quick hitters exposed
to place. But I'm looking for Dallas to dominate time
of possession. This is I'm looking for Dallas to really
try to wear down this defense because to me, but
(24:49):
you can tell me, Nicole, you can tell me. I
think the defense is the stronger unit of the team
right now. It is, and so that's in your offenses
is a stronger unit of your team. So let's let's
come on with it and take you know, take it
to them early in this game and take out their
ability to run the ball or whatever and make them
become one dimensional.
Speaker 4 (25:08):
That was gonna say, is there an opportunity possibly to
even attack their linebackers because even though they're not poor,
they struggle and coverage.
Speaker 6 (25:17):
Yeah that's familiar. Yeah, yeah, No, I totally agree. I
totally agree. I think, like I said, as a run defense,
I think their second level has some continuity and they're
able to help out and obviously a lot of the
smaller defenders that come and help. But I do think
you can't take advantage of a Devin White because his
change of direction ain't what it used to be.
Speaker 10 (25:37):
It ain't what it used to be. This ain't the
book then to me.
Speaker 6 (25:41):
And Roberts is the other guy that's out there that
they use at the SAM and sometimes he be running
around looking like.
Speaker 5 (25:52):
Just confused.
Speaker 6 (25:53):
Just there's some confusion and past protection sometimes and to
your point, bre with them mixing in some stuff you know,
some different looks in different fronts and stuff. He's a
guy that gets taken out of there when Roberts is
when they do their nickel packages.
Speaker 4 (26:06):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (26:07):
So sometimes when he comes back in on they're in base,
you can tell that he's a little confused and not
picking up his cues as well. I agree with you, Nicole.
I think that Dallas should be able to take advantage
of their linebackers and coverage. But they got to do
it because we've said this the last couple of weeks.
Speaker 5 (26:22):
I feel like the last couple of weeks prior.
Speaker 6 (26:24):
To the by uh that they that there were opportunities
to take advantage of the other team's second level and
Dallas wasn't able to didn't do that as well as I.
Speaker 5 (26:34):
Expected them to.
Speaker 10 (26:36):
Now how you do that is yeah, that's a question.
Speaker 7 (26:39):
And Jamal Adams, he's like you mentioned safety. And as
soon as Pete Carroll again they had they spent time
together in Seattle, so as soon as he brought him
onto this squad, I saw quote from their training camp saying, yeah,
he told me right away that I'm going to be
playing linebacker, Like there was no It's suck about it,
but I've also noted some of the writers talking about
(27:01):
his speed. He's not one of the fastest guys, and
I think that's a way that Dallas can expose in
utilizing some of the pieces that we talked about that
hasn't been clicking thus far, like about.
Speaker 5 (27:13):
The speedster, Like Turping that is the speedster? What are
you talking about?
Speaker 6 (27:18):
Yeah, I'm still waiting for him to have that game. Yeah,
I feel like do you think that? I felt like,
I know he.
Speaker 5 (27:24):
Was dealing with was it a foot earlier in.
Speaker 6 (27:26):
The season, and I personally feel like since he's returned
from the foot, he hasn't been as explosive, even in returns,
but also too, I just feel like offensively, where we
were looking at him at the beginning of the year
kind of where he was fitting, You're like, oh, okay,
he's a.
Speaker 5 (27:41):
Kind of a constant.
Speaker 6 (27:43):
That hasn't been the case for several weeks at this point.
And to your point, Nicole, is this a game where
maybe they try to get Turping back involved into this
offense a little bit more?
Speaker 7 (27:53):
That would be that would be I don't I can't
really say it's the injury.
Speaker 5 (27:58):
I don't know why. It just feels like something else
is going on. I don't know what it is, but.
Speaker 7 (28:02):
I will say going back to what I saw in
the Chiefs game also where I think Dallas can kind
of take advantage those two tight ends was tearing them up.
Speaker 5 (28:11):
Oh yeah, they was tearing them.
Speaker 8 (28:14):
Up for that first half. That's all they did.
Speaker 7 (28:16):
And then once the tight ends finished with them second half,
they started just running the ball like crazy. So that
we know what we got in Ferguson, is that going
to be schoonmaker on the side brevn span Ford? Like,
I think there's a if they utilize their tight ends,
I think this could be a game to really shine.
Speaker 4 (28:34):
We'll hearing from Lunda when the assistant coaches talked, he
had said that, you know, Brevin span Ford's time in
the passing game will come eventually, but he hasn't been
kind of like that that player that's like, hey put
me in the game, coach, you know. So he's kind
of okay with playing his role right now. So it'll
be obviously maybe obviously Jake Ferguson and more of Luke's schoonmaker.
They like what they have in those guys right now.
(28:56):
But Jamal Adams, what's the issue there because it seems
like his play.
Speaker 5 (29:06):
I mean, obviously he's old. Listen, that's crazy. How old?
That's not old? My bad? He's like thirty five? Is
that old? Senior of my.
Speaker 4 (29:15):
Bad of the city, a senior of the citizen.
Speaker 5 (29:20):
That sounds a little bitters thirty five?
Speaker 8 (29:22):
This is thirty huh, my bad.
Speaker 10 (29:28):
Now it's because I'm I'm straight though, man.
Speaker 5 (29:32):
But in football years, he's old. He's a senior of
the citizens in football years.
Speaker 8 (29:37):
Some of ours in the locker room who.
Speaker 5 (29:39):
Said they was old because we.
Speaker 6 (29:40):
Got some they not well, first of all, nah, because
they be clowning because of my foot size.
Speaker 5 (29:46):
So I ain't got no, I ain't. I don't care.
Speaker 4 (29:49):
It is wool.
Speaker 5 (29:49):
That came out really bad, my bad.
Speaker 6 (29:51):
Let me try to you just say, oh, the hard
old quarter How old are quarterback? Really old?
Speaker 4 (29:58):
Oh?
Speaker 5 (29:58):
You think everybody elderly?
Speaker 7 (30:00):
You sorry, Okay, don't don't tell her.
Speaker 13 (30:10):
That.
Speaker 5 (30:11):
Don't do that. Have y'all what have y'all seen in
his play? Kind of digress a little bit?
Speaker 4 (30:17):
Is it the moving him to linebacker or you feel
like it's just he's just become seasoned.
Speaker 5 (30:23):
I mean he is safety.
Speaker 4 (30:26):
Yeah, that's what I'm.
Speaker 6 (30:26):
Saying, Okay, he's a bigger body safety, and he's always
like he's always kind of been that player that you know,
played well closer to the launa scrimmage, like kind of
how we would think about a Donovan Wilson.
Speaker 5 (30:38):
But when you.
Speaker 10 (30:38):
Undersized, you undersized.
Speaker 6 (30:40):
And yes, whereas he's helpful in coverage, we saw this
in the Marque spell where he's offered he's helpful in coverage,
and then also too he can you know, come down
and run and help once you start. Like the physical
toll that linebacker takes on you is different than us
at the safety position, and so I just think the
that and the age which matters.
Speaker 5 (30:59):
He's had some injuries through the years. He's had quite
a few injuries through the years.
Speaker 6 (31:03):
But I still think that there's still some official I
still feel like watching him, his ability to read the
run is something that shows up sometimes, know how, like
we saw what we're seeing with Clowney.
Speaker 5 (31:13):
To me is yeah, he's older, but he.
Speaker 6 (31:15):
Knows how to read the run the processing, and so
I think that his processing is helping him even without
the speed being as good as it was. I'm not
saying it's pretty all the time I'm just saying that
as a unit, they're not a unit that I'm just like, Oh,
Dallas can just run through the whole time. I think that, Yeah,
in the passing game they struggle, but as an overall unit,
I'm not saying that they're one of the poor units
(31:37):
you've seen.
Speaker 5 (31:38):
Interesting. Okay, what do you think about him?
Speaker 4 (31:41):
Oh?
Speaker 5 (31:41):
I was just asking a question. Oh no, I was
thinking because I was thinking maybe you saw something. No, no, no, no,
it's good.
Speaker 8 (31:46):
I just thought that, like, obviously he paid safety, but I.
Speaker 4 (31:50):
Just didn't understand where the real issues lied, Like was
it just because he's more seasoned?
Speaker 5 (31:56):
Is he losing speed?
Speaker 12 (31:57):
Like?
Speaker 7 (31:57):
I think it's really necessarily an issue because like Pete
had his one, Pete wanted him to come, so there's
that there wasn't any hesitation, like he was pushing for
him to come join his new squad, thinking the Raiders
were going to be able to do something this year
and then two I think it like to your point,
this is a guy that they consistently like to bring down. Yeah,
(32:18):
and so I mean it makes sense, and you don't
know who else they had maybe before I know they've
been banged up with injuries as well back there as well.
Speaker 5 (32:25):
But a lot of guys can't do that. They're not
that versatile.
Speaker 7 (32:27):
So I think, yes, in one of my notes was
his speed is a little bit, but I don't think
that necessarily comes with age.
Speaker 8 (32:34):
I just think he's not a speed aside his game.
Speaker 5 (32:36):
Yes, it's never really been to me.
Speaker 4 (32:39):
Huh, Let's see, I'm sick of you. Where's the Where're
some opportunities that the Cowboys can attack downfield in the
secondary because there are.
Speaker 6 (32:47):
Some well, I was gonna say when we were talking
when Brady you brought up the tight ends for the
when he brought up the tight ends for the Chiefs
tearing up the Raiders. I also think about a Pickens
as the big slot I think, I guess I think
I think some of those.
Speaker 5 (33:01):
Quick slants and stuff like that will be able.
Speaker 6 (33:03):
I think the change of direction with those linebackers isn't efficient.
And again I'm not saying that, you know, and Pickens
is a guy that can take it to the house
when he gets it in a slant. But I do
think maybe some of these bigger body receivers, like a Flodoy,
some of those guys can be used to.
Speaker 10 (33:18):
Attack the middle of the field as well.
Speaker 6 (33:20):
Now when you talk about attacking downfield, like I said,
chen Is to me is a pretty rangy guy. But
the way that they have him, this is something you'll
see with guys that play in the nickel or also
and also have to play out you know, at the
lower third of the field. Their eyes get caught looking
because he's a guy that likes to help out in
the round.
Speaker 5 (33:40):
He's a guy that.
Speaker 10 (33:41):
Likes to help men in the middle of the field.
Speaker 6 (33:43):
But if they got them, you know, back there and
like a two and too high, sometimes his eyes do
get a little undisciplined and he's looking at what's happening.
I think I think Pickens and Ceedee Lamb might be
able to get behind them for some some bigger plays
on the outside. And that's just because all the moving
parts when you move a guy to nickel and then
he's back out there and stuff like, some guys can
(34:04):
handle that really well.
Speaker 5 (34:04):
I think he handles it pretty well.
Speaker 6 (34:06):
But maybe Dak or you know, Pickens and those guys
can communicate and catch them slipping.
Speaker 7 (34:10):
Which yeah, I think the key to this game is
going to be proving that they can run the ball.
Speaker 5 (34:17):
That's fine, that's.
Speaker 7 (34:19):
Going to be where it starts, because once I think
the Cowboys get back to their run game, we saw
minus two weeks of what we've seen go a little
bit downhill. This defense isn't going to really know what
to do because they're going You're going to have to
force them to respect the run game. And then I
think it's going to take off in the middle field
to a team that typically doesn't give up those big
chunk plays.
Speaker 5 (34:38):
However, they do play a lot of cover three.
Speaker 7 (34:41):
I think that leaves for an opportunity for I do
think this is a game for Pickens to shine. I
would love for it to be a game that both
CD and Pickings shine, which we haven't seen since CD's return,
where they're both popping off, so that I think this
could be the game to do it.
Speaker 5 (34:55):
But I think it starts with establishing the run first.
That's fair.
Speaker 8 (34:57):
Fair, get into play action and do what they do better.

I like how everybody feels like happy now.

what's going on here?
Speaker 5 (38:34):
I did have a.

Questions, And now as an adult, it just feels like consumerism.

Now I feels expensive. Why are you going down your life?
Speaker 6 (38:42):
I'm just saying, I'm like, and I was an adult,

Speaker 7 (39:01):
Hold you, I was make getting paid that that pissed
me off when I find out about that.
Speaker 5 (39:05):
She used to do.
Speaker 6 (39:06):
She used to do you talk about Black Friday deals?
Speaker 5 (39:09):
Hopefully no deal. Those aren't real getting done. They don't exist.
They're not really, but they do. Back in the gap.
Speaker 7 (39:14):
Back in the gap, it was listen, I used to
work at best Buy and what they do is to
do like two TVs that are mad low and have
everybody lined up there for like thirty people out there,
like forty eight hours with lawn chairs.
Speaker 5 (39:25):
I'm just telling you all the real Please stop, you're
ruining in now. I'm telling you all the truth. Stay asleep,
let me stay woke. Sleep no sleep sleep instead again
in line. Okay, I did, I'm just the show off track. Yeah,
that went way all track. All right, Cowboys offensive line.
Speaker 4 (39:45):
Where are some opportunities they can take advantage against this
defensive front for Raiders.
Speaker 5 (39:50):
Terry Steel Biddle, what'd you say with the button?
Speaker 6 (39:53):
Ready?
Speaker 5 (39:54):
Play the button? Wake up? Yeah, I'm ready. You better
come home wake up? There you go.
Speaker 6 (40:00):
I can still better come on with it, because I
do think that they are going to go at him.
Speaker 5 (40:06):
Uh this this game, this this.
Speaker 10 (40:09):
Game, and uh, I mean Tyler, Tyler.
Speaker 5 (40:12):
God is gonna have his hands.
Speaker 6 (40:13):
Full a little bit with Snowden and the way that
he's able to really stack I like. I like how
he's able to Uh he shifts.
Speaker 5 (40:22):
I think he.
Speaker 6 (40:22):
Shifts his power well. And that's something that guidance is
still working. Is you know, count what responding to the
defensive lineman's counter, So you know, I think, uh, and
that's something he's gotten better at this year. But Snowden
is a guy that is not He's not just gonna
rush down in the middle of you all the time.
Speaker 5 (40:40):
He does have a few.
Speaker 6 (40:41):
Things that he will do as far as like his
toolbox with his hands. I mean, Guidan's gonna have to
play strong. I would say, I think Dallas can take
advantage of the defensive interior. I think they can't take
advantage of the defensive interior. This isn't a defensive interior
that's getting a lot of push out of Butler and
those guys.
Speaker 5 (41:00):
Can they move these guys off the ball?
Speaker 6 (41:02):
Can they get to the second level on you know,
Adam's an undersized linebacker and you know, maybe just move
move by the way, white out the wait, Yeah, Dallas
that we haven't seen Dallas get to the second level
as consistently as they did earlier in the year. This
is maybe a time where they can really lean on
that interior. That's together, that's that's all together again, had
(41:25):
some time to rest. A guy like Tyler Smith that
needed some time, it seemed like because his knee was you.
Speaker 10 (41:30):
Know, yeah, come on with it.
Speaker 5 (41:32):
Move these guys off the ball. And it sounds like
it's going to be a home game.
Speaker 6 (41:35):
Lowkey, Yeah, it might be kind of a high game.
Loki Raiders fans fed up, they are on the strike,
mixed strike they over there.
Speaker 5 (41:43):
But I definitely agree.
Speaker 7 (41:44):
I think Still is going to be the guy I'm
looking at the most. You talk about it every week
about how big he is in this Cowboys run game,
but I think there's a mystery, not mystery. Another gentleman
named Nate Thomas who keeps coming up hearing interviews and
recently about kind of hinting like he's catching some eyes
(42:07):
with the coaches a little bit. So I think that
could light a little fire under still to know that.
Speaker 5 (42:13):
They took him out before.
Speaker 6 (42:14):
But it's fire, it's fire better be lit too, because
I think this is the last year on this deal. Yeah,
so there's a possibility, it's the possibility of him not
being ready anything. But I will say with Nate Thomas,
when he did come and play right tackle, I didn't
like it.
Speaker 5 (42:28):
I think he's a.
Speaker 6 (42:28):
Far stronger left tackle. If they feel like he can
play right tackle, love that. But he has shown himself
to me in the time that I've watched him to
be a far better left tackle.
Speaker 5 (42:41):
So it's kind of weird for me. I ain't gonna
hold you.
Speaker 7 (42:44):
I've heard them kind of threatening with the writers about
what world, what world do we live in? If not
necessarily this season, but if the Cowboys put guy into
where on the other side, where he moved him the
right town.
Speaker 5 (42:57):
Right he played it in college.
Speaker 7 (43:00):
Know, but those are just conversations in the air because
I think a lot of people feel the way you do.
Speaker 5 (43:05):
I'm tired.
Speaker 6 (43:07):
I'm tired of people thinking that offensive line is just
this interchangeable.
Speaker 5 (43:13):
It's not. It's not.
Speaker 4 (43:17):
So you see what they did with Tyler Smith. Of
course he was able to play you know, inside or out.
But like he's thriving at left guard and he still
was on one side.
Speaker 5 (43:28):
That's very true.
Speaker 6 (43:29):
Because when you swe I mean literally when you switch sides,
it changes almost all of your mechanics. You're mirroring your
your kickstep, your everything, you're striking in everything.
Speaker 5 (43:38):
And so it's just interesting to me.
Speaker 6 (43:40):
Like, like I said, Nate Thomas, I watched, We've seen
him play left guard, We've seen him left tack that's
where he plays better at. So maybe they just trying to,
like you said, lights and fire under steal.
Speaker 5 (43:51):
But I don't think it's that threatening.
Speaker 6 (43:55):
I don't think Nate Thomas at right tackles is that
is that threatening because I don't think that's he's strong there.
Speaker 5 (44:03):
He might help you.
Speaker 7 (44:04):
Less less grace for still as well in that position,
just with the coaching staff, Like you said, he's been
pooled more than once.
