Speaker 5 (01:30):
Be gentle with it, Kurt, don't pull on it. I

there you go. Yeah, you got to have flow, Kurt flow.
Speaker 6 (01:41):
I've ever been accused of having. No, I can't say
I have, sir.
Speaker 2 (01:45):
No you.
Speaker 8 (01:47):
Yeah, you know, horsing around not not not Like Chris
showed us a video.
Speaker 2 (01:55):
There was a fight last night after the after the forty.
Speaker 8 (01:57):
Nine Ers Carolina game, and everybody was wondering why. It
was Juwan Jennings and uh, what's his name? The kid
from TCU Chris like moor Ing or something like that. Yeah,
and Jenny punched him in the head. Everybody's like, what
what the hell is going on to? Christian showed me
a video on Twitter where yeah, yeah, came from grandma's
(02:22):
house and punched him right in the junk. So that'll
get your that'll get your fine.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
I'm gonna tell.
Speaker 3 (02:28):
You one time during the game, and it was about
the guy did about mistake. I think it was a
knee and uh, and I always for some reason, it's
so dumb. In baseball, they were a cup and they
were put a plastic cup to help you. But in football,
we just put on the strap and no cup.
Speaker 2 (02:49):
Yep.
Speaker 6 (02:51):
I just assumed you guys did.
Speaker 3 (02:52):
Yeah, and I thought that, okay from baseball with the
plastic cup, I'm protected. Especially catchers love to have those on,
even though sometime they get pinched.
Speaker 2 (03:03):
You know.
Speaker 3 (03:06):
I got hit there, and the first thing I thought
is I got on a cup and I realized I
didn't have on a cups.
Speaker 2 (03:14):
And then it said it said I was rolling around, Hey, come,
Jim Meyer and all the guys and like, what's wrong?
Speaker 3 (03:21):
And I'm pointing, you know, because I couldn't really talk,
and they're like, is it a groan?
Speaker 2 (03:28):
No, I got hit it. You know, you know, you
don't want to about to touch it because you're like, yeah,
that's mine. Yeah.
Speaker 8 (03:38):
Man.
Speaker 2 (03:38):
It took me a minute to gather myself. Man, So
I know how this kid must have felt. Man.
Speaker 3 (03:43):
And uh, back in the day when that happened, when
a guy took a shot at y'all, whether's accident or
whether it was meant to be, you chalked it up
in the game, you know, you try to Hey.
Speaker 2 (03:53):
This is part of the game. But these kids today, you.
Speaker 3 (03:57):
You split on them. You do this or do you
that or whatever? They are taking this thing. You've seeing
more kids take off after each other after games now
than I've ever seen it. Man, I've never.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
Seen it get to the streets. Yeah, they taking it
to the street. You right hang on to it after
that too.
Speaker 7 (04:14):
Christie was saying at the game, you can tell when
that happens is because you know when something happens that
the trainers run out there pretty quick. Yeah, And they
run out there real quick, and then they start standing around.
You know, they just kind of look down at you
and the guys like rolling around like you're gonna help
him out, and he's like, no, can't help him.
Speaker 2 (04:31):
He's got to walk it off. Walk it off, walk
it off off. Yeah. Over the game this week?
Speaker 8 (04:41):
Yeah, man, what's the what's the what's the worst You
ever got hurt in the game?
Speaker 2 (04:46):
You ever miss time? Yeah?
Speaker 6 (04:48):
I did.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
I missed some games a knee. Uh. The knee had me. Uh.
And we want a super Bowl that season?
Speaker 3 (04:55):
Your need Yeah, my knee was yeah, and uh, we
want a super Bowl that season.
Speaker 5 (04:59):
Man.
Speaker 3 (04:59):
But you know, I never knew I could go six
plays perfect, nothing wrong, and in my mind I'll forget.
Then all of a sudden, I'll take a sudden step somewhere.
Speaker 2 (05:09):
And it'll cripple me. It's like it's a buckle.
Speaker 3 (05:12):
And then for the next three or four plays, you
you can't run out. You can't run out of the game,
you know. So for the next three or four games,
you praying, don't run behind me, don't don't call a
passing play. Don't call a passing play. Because depending on
who I was playing, it was quicker than me. So
I'm like, man, just run the ball, you know what
(05:33):
I'm saying. And for each athlete it's different. Your pain
tolerance is different for each athlete. But the one thing
you can't it's two injuries that I know of that
you can't get past.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
A growing and a hamstring. You're not you know.
Speaker 3 (05:53):
You can have a sword, calf and all that, but
a hamstring and a growing, especially a growing, you ain't
getting past that. And once everybody know that you have
that injury, they're gonna test you. Coach is gonna test you.
When you run out there on the field, they coming
right at you.
Speaker 9 (06:11):
Bro.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
Yeah, you can't get past those two death.
Speaker 8 (06:15):
Kurt, you ever been miss timed with an injury?
Speaker 6 (06:20):
Not a severe one. I mean when I was a kid,
you know, and twist sinkles and stuff like that, but
nothing too severe, thankfully.
Speaker 2 (06:28):
How about you, my friend?
Speaker 8 (06:29):
Never had a broken bone in my life. I think
I broke this.
Speaker 1 (06:35):
Seen you there before, It looks like I think I
broke this.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
Play.
Speaker 8 (06:38):
We were messing around playing tackle football, you know, too
old to be doing that in college, messing around and
I caught a ball over the middle and I felt
my finger pop and I was like, that felt weird.
And I looked down and it was pointing that way
and I squeezed my hand and it popped back over
that way, and I was like, okay, I'm done. Fellas
what was like, I'm just gonna go, and I didn't
(06:59):
want to look at it, and then it never straightened
back out, So I think I broke it. But other
than that, no, I was very, very fortunate. Never had
never had.
Speaker 2 (07:08):
Chris, you had any big bang problems kids? Two kids,
that's funny, those are two big bang.
Speaker 7 (07:20):
No A finger like you got it? Yeah, someone pulled
it back in.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
Hold your hands up, mate, I had just finger here,
that's it. That's it. Yeah, on this one, Pop.
Speaker 3 (07:31):
I started taping this one, just started taping the rest
because most guys, like dude.
Speaker 8 (07:38):
Most guys in your era, especially defensive linemen, if you
look at their hands, look at Rogers, their fingers points
the wrong way.
Speaker 7 (07:46):
Yes he got fixed, but yeah Roger his his his
pinky would face. If you put your hand in front
of you, his pinky would face straight down.
Speaker 2 (07:55):
Yeah, it was crazy. Yeah.
Speaker 8 (07:57):
There was a guy I can't remember his name, and
there was an events back when I first started, back
when I was still working at the pro Shop, and
they were having uh, they were having uh. The The
Wednesday show was at a UH, but we didn't hang
on real quick.
Speaker 2 (08:13):
Hang on.
Speaker 10 (08:15):
You're looking live at Tostitos jampion Ship Plaza outside Forts
Center at the Star in Frisco, Texas, where it is
hustling and bustling outside a big crowd out there today.
Sixty five degrees, the highest, sixty six, the lowest fifty one.
Speaker 1 (08:32):
I can't hear anything. They got the Mariachi ben out there.
Speaker 2 (08:35):
I got a story about that.
Speaker 1 (08:37):
Okay, that is shit. This is Nate. This is Kurt
one Pump Daniels. Because two pumps will get you fine,
and if you get hitting the junk, you should be
able to pump somebody like it did last night in
the back of Chris being keeping his live and local.
I still am salt and pepper poppy together. We make
hanging with the boys the sports talk equivalent to browl people.
Speaker 2 (08:56):
Us when we see we can start. Is he.
Speaker 8 (09:03):
So, Jesse, we waited on you. We actually didn't even
do the open. We just said what's up, fellas, how
are you? And we were just discussing Chris junk punches.
Speaker 2 (09:13):
Hendrey.
Speaker 8 (09:13):
Look at Can you believe the man is many years
it's a great shirt, as many years as Nate playing
in the league, and his hands are in that good
of shape.
Speaker 3 (09:20):
Yeah, because I said, once I broke this finger, I
started taping after that.
Speaker 8 (09:24):
Because you know all the guys that played like in
the nineties and before offensive and defensive line, they hold
their hands up and they point different directions.
Speaker 1 (09:31):
Like this finger right here, Oh, this one, this.
Speaker 2 (09:34):
One fure is attending gone. So it's gone.
Speaker 1 (09:37):
It's gone. Ah, Like this one is was broken, never
got properly fixed. This one was broke. I broke my thumb.
There's there's a clip that if you go on YouTube.
You see No, no, it's not. You don't see it,
but you see before game I'm playing catch with Romo
before a game, and you hear him yell like you
hear him yell to me, how's the thumb? Because I'm
(09:58):
literally playing with the broken thumb, and I had to
figure out how a way to kind of trap the
football because I couldn't do I couldn't catch it like
I normally would catch it. Not that I was getting
any pastor on my way, but in the event that
it happened to come my way, I literally was practicing
like almost like a like a venus fly traps, like
the ball would be coming and I would have to
(10:20):
figure out because I wasn't a body catcher. I didn't
like I wasn't like a the ball was coming, I
wanted to catch it with my hands.
Speaker 2 (10:27):
This is amazing to me, This, this is amazing.
Speaker 1 (10:32):
What's amazing is life, Jesse.
Speaker 3 (10:37):
If your body, Daniel, if your body, yes, could have
been equal to your mind.
Speaker 1 (10:44):
Man, you know how great a player.
Speaker 2 (10:48):
I how create a player? You're being bro I don't.
Speaker 1 (10:51):
I'm thankful the lordship.
Speaker 3 (10:53):
I'm gonna give you just enough because if you would
have gave you abundance.
Speaker 2 (10:59):
You think he wouldn't be on this show? Do you
think you would have to turn it out?
Speaker 8 (11:04):
There a questionable character if you would have had a
lot of talent, or do you think you would still
be the same human?
Speaker 2 (11:11):
You probably be like me. You do a whole lot
of good, you do a whole lot of bad.
Speaker 8 (11:16):
I'm you man, and bad is relative, right, It's in
the eye of the beholder.
Speaker 2 (11:21):
Like what's bad to you? It may not be bad
to be.
Speaker 8 (11:26):
I get Just imagine life would have gone different.
Speaker 1 (11:28):
Huh, life would have been a little bit different. I
needed a couple humbling journeys in my life to make sure,
Like I think it was like the long run, because
he was like, I'm I'm gonna bless you forever. But
if I just got all at once, if I blessed
you too much at first, you wouldn't have Like, because
now I'm at a place now where I can handle
(11:49):
any blessing going forward, Like, no matter the amount, are
you listening, Yeah, me too, just in case you listening.
But like if I was a first round pick and
I had the access of I don't know what they're making,
you know, but millions at twenty.
Speaker 2 (12:08):
Years old all at once.
Speaker 1 (12:09):
Yeah, if I was in college with nil deals right now,
I was saying wild stuff to my coaches and I
wasn't like we wouldn't even we ain't even I had,
you know, maybe had them on hundred dollars handshake, So
you know what I'm saying. But if you're telling me
I had five hundred thousand or I was doing a
million talk to you, I was telling this is a
no lie, and I can I can call Gunner Brewer
(12:31):
right now, who's my wide receiver coach at UNC and
my freshman year. You come in with all this hype,
I'm ready to play. I'm like, you know, I'm but
I'm not understanding the mental part of learning the playbook,
understanding Uh, you know what we're doing out here, different
personnel sets, different coverages that we're facing. And I kept
(12:52):
grading out like fifty percent, forty percent, fifty percent. But
I'm begging to play more. Like I'm getting mad. I'm
like I'm transfer because I'm not playing, and so like
my coaches got tired for so one day, Like we're
all as a wide receiver group watching film in one
play I'll do good great block Jesse you got the
right person. Next play, Jesse, you're running the wrong route.
(13:12):
Next play, good route, Jesse, get the next play? This
is not it? What are you doing? Jesse? And then
got your point. He's like, you know what you're always
talking about. You want more pe, but blee playing time.
You can't figure out what to do. And instead of
my response being you know a coach, you're right, let
me study more. Can you help me out? No, da
da da da, I said, well, if I keep grading
(13:34):
now fifty percent, it's your dotar take me out every
other play. Oh like that was my response, Like if
I do figure it out, you figure it out. If
I do good, take me out the next play, because
I'm gonna mess up. You figure out how this fifty
percent thing gonna work out to me getting to one
hundred percent each week. And I was saying that with
no money. So imagine if I had five hundred thousand,
(13:55):
a million dollars and I know my coach, don't make
that Yeah, no, no, no, that level, Jesse would have
been a terror. I would have been a terror.
Speaker 8 (14:06):
But you probably still wouldn't. I wouldn't drink, wouldn't gamble,
wouldn't do all that stuff.
Speaker 2 (14:10):
You think.
Speaker 1 (14:10):
No, no, no, no, I never I never had a desire
to do that.
Speaker 8 (14:12):
So your marls would your marral compass would have been
you just been, would have been, but the lady and
the ego and.
Speaker 1 (14:18):
The ladies would have been.
Speaker 2 (14:21):
The quality would have gone.
Speaker 1 (14:22):
Up, would have been from everywhere, from everywhere, Kurt, he
would have called me Jesse important.
Speaker 8 (14:29):
Oh man, Yeah, all right, let's take let's say, let's
take our first break when we come back more well,

Speaker 8 (17:53):
So I don't know what your mariachi band story is.
Speaker 2 (17:56):
Outside.
Speaker 8 (17:57):
Oh okay, I was using the restroom before I came
in here, and I was in the stall with the
door shut.
Speaker 2 (18:04):
Too much information.
Speaker 8 (18:05):
Yeah, And I hear I hear a conversation between several
gentlemen speaking Spanish. I don't speak Spanish, so I have
no idea what they're saying. And I come out to
go wash my hands and there's a gentleman there and
full mariachi outfit, not just not just when you go
to the club and see a very nice you could
(18:26):
tell this is high quality mariachi.
Speaker 2 (18:29):
Like silver inlay woven in.
Speaker 8 (18:31):
It was very nice. And I'm just thinking only at
the star they were.
Speaker 1 (18:36):
On the field.
Speaker 6 (18:38):
That's like the top mariachi band in Mexico.
Speaker 2 (18:41):
They practice the world.
Speaker 7 (18:42):
I don't know they actually perform at the games, I know,
But what are they doing on the field performing a practice?
Speaker 6 (18:48):
They're doing some kind of shoot or something.
Speaker 1 (18:50):
Yeah, they're going to shoot, okay while practice is going on,
all right, So Chris only at.
Speaker 7 (18:55):
The strike, Well, you know, Jerry Jerry is a mariachi connoisseur.
Speaker 1 (19:02):
So got the Cowboy readers.
Speaker 8 (19:04):
Yeah, so that's the number one mariachi band in the world.
Speaker 1 (19:07):
Yeah, he's booked them for the rest of the year.
Speaker 8 (19:09):
Every every every stage they fly him in from Mexico.
Speaker 2 (19:13):
There you go out there on the plaza.
Speaker 7 (19:16):
No, they're actually have a stage inside the stadium. What yes,
what did this happen this year? Yeah, there's a stage
in the stadium. You got to get to get to
a game. Yeah, yeah, I'll get you to the game.
Speaker 6 (19:30):
Okay.
Speaker 8 (19:30):
You wanna hear a funny story.
Speaker 2 (19:31):
Yes, let's Elijah Clark.
Speaker 7 (19:33):
Everybody knows the viral video of him going down the
field and making the tackle. Well, do you remember the
viral video on Friday of the elementary kids punching the
the Do you see that and they see that the
Philadelphia elementary students that were okay.
Speaker 1 (19:51):
And to be honest to add to your story, yeah,
did you remember the lady reporter her name that they
did like they did on that new station like that,
not the white lady, but the lady they threw it
back to in the studio.
Speaker 7 (20:02):
No, I didn't see that.
Speaker 1 (20:03):
My name is Alex Holly is that a relative? Oh
but she's really cute though. If she ever married me,
if she would never have to change, that's good.
Speaker 2 (20:16):
Keep her.
Speaker 7 (20:18):
So anyways, Elijah Clark, sorry Elijah Clark, that that school
was in Camden, New Jersey.
Speaker 1 (20:24):
Oh was that his school?
Speaker 13 (20:25):
That was his elementary school? And second of all, his
nephew goes to that school. So he had a call
his sister and said, uh, yeah, he and hidden the
cowboy players?
Speaker 2 (20:40):
Is he because that's what I played for.
Speaker 1 (20:43):
A ruined nephew.
Speaker 6 (20:45):
He didn't. He didn't take part of it.
Speaker 2 (20:47):
He didn't take part in it. He did not.
Speaker 7 (20:50):
Okay, okay, So that was the story yesterday coming.
Speaker 2 (20:52):
Out of the locker room.
Speaker 1 (20:53):
That's funny.
Speaker 8 (20:54):
Wow, all right, let's get into a little bit of
football to carry on our conversation from yesterday. Uh and
pickings and uh c D Right, see my shirt.
Speaker 5 (21:07):
I love it.
Speaker 2 (21:08):
I love that shirt. My shirt.
Speaker 8 (21:09):
It's one of the best shirts. They didn't send you
asked one.
Speaker 6 (21:15):
You see.
Speaker 2 (21:17):
Actually that shirt of Monaco.
Speaker 3 (21:19):
And you don't you don't want your boy have God
this is I stole mytized, never stoletized. I would never
not want my going my bags and take it take
all my good clothes and I asked my shirt of Monaco?
When would I get it? Jess, you're still paying me
back for that porch maybe.
Speaker 6 (21:42):
Shirt.
Speaker 2 (21:43):
That porch thing is.
Speaker 8 (21:46):
How do you how if you're that one of the
best leaders we've ever heard talked about in this building,
at least in the last you know, twenty years, how
do you if anybody can tell that CD is struggling
a little bit, it's going to be his quarterback right mentally,
whatever he's going through identity wise, how do you, as
(22:09):
DAK manage that or do you? Is it on you
a little bit to kind of keep his confidence up,
keep him going, keep him energized, keep him in the game,
get him involved. When you got somebody like Pickings that
you feel like, all I have to do is throw
it within you know it's it's des two point zero,
(22:31):
but more Dare I say more talent? Is it?
Speaker 2 (22:36):
If that's possible? You know? So, how do you if
you're Dak?
Speaker 8 (22:39):
Is it part of your job, as you know, the
leader of that offense, the leader of that team, to
to keep CD on track or get him back on track,
because you can lose you could lose confidence pretty quick
as a wide receiver, right, and you can lose confidence
in your wide receiver as a quarterback even faster.
Speaker 2 (22:56):
Right.
Speaker 1 (22:57):
Yeah, I hate that way even having this conversation honestly,
Like I really am right. It's one game. And if
I'm if I'm Dak, Like let's just say, for example,
I'm I happen to be I happen to be Jesse
Holly in that locker room with CD in the bide
(23:17):
receiver room, Like I would just tell him, like I
would just pull him to the side, text him whatever
it is, Like, dog, you're CD lamb, Like do I
need to do I need to do a highlight tape
for you? Do I need to pull up something on
YouTube to show you just exactly do I need to
show you the accolades that you put together, like even
(23:37):
in the midst of everything that's happening in Georgia and
all this. Yeah, you just hit seven thousand yards and
five years in your career here like your own pace
to leave here as the all time leading receiver in receptions, touchdowns, yards,
every statistical category. So it's like, I don't now what
Dak says and what CD believes are completely two different things, right,
(24:02):
because I can tell you all this, you gotta believe it.
But for Dak, it's it's continued to do what you do.
Like CD didn't lack targets in that game. Eleven hit
eleven targets and George had nine. So it wasn't like
there was this big disparity in who gets the ball. No,
you had eleven, you drop three, you drop three, and
(24:26):
you still had seventy four yards. So you catch those
three and again you're having You're having a eight seven
to eight catch day over one hundred yards and a
touchdown George picking. The game doesn't look so gaudy after all.
If you if he got a buck forty six or
whatever it was and you got a buck twenty five,
(24:46):
y'all both got touchdowns. No one's saying this, it's because
you had the three drops and you you know what
I mean. So yeah, you go out there and you
practice and you still remind them. Shoddy said the other
day in the presser, and that's him being kind of
ahead of the game. He was like, listen, we're gonna
need CD. Guess what, Get ready, He's getting the ball
(25:09):
in Kansas City a lot Like we're not going We're
not gonna stop going to him. It's I think we
of course, this is what we do as a media.
We have to talk about it. We have to make
it a big issue. We have to put we have
to put it out there. I get it. This is
what sells. We are in a business of We are
in the entertainment business, so we have to have things
that we talk about that are entertaining. This is the
(25:29):
most entertaining topic that's happening right now for the Cowboys.
But he don't have to say nothing, Oh you are
CD LAMB, Like what are we talking about here? Like
your CD Lamb And guess what, I'm as much and
as well as George Pickens is playing as much is
George Pickens is now kind of the leader in the doghouse,
(25:53):
not a dog house, but the leader in the in
the in the house of you know, running the offense
to him. You think they're gonna they're not gonna need
CD Lamb at any point in time in this season.
Yes they are.
Speaker 2 (26:04):
You know what's amazing.
Speaker 6 (26:06):
Is that?
Speaker 2 (26:08):
And like I said, I'm with you. You know that.
Speaker 3 (26:09):
I came to Grips like two weeks ago, I said,
you know what, it's we entertainers. That's that's all we are.
We're not team builders. We don't care about people's uh
how they feel. Now we'll act like it. You know,
something bad happened. But are you gonna think team when
you got to do a podcast and you got a
(26:30):
hot take? Who's the hottest receiver? Who's the who we
should run the offensive through? The bottom line is just
right here. We needed George Pickens so CD can continue
to be who he is. George Pickens needed a dack
and a CD so he can show the world who
(26:51):
he is. So if I'm coach Schottenheimer Haber, you're the man,
let's go play ball.
Speaker 2 (27:00):
Now?
Speaker 3 (27:01):
Is up the CD who's had more success than failure
to realize who he is? Now, I'll go even deeper.
The kid that we just lost, the kid that just
passed away.
Speaker 1 (27:14):
Marshall.
Speaker 3 (27:16):
I'm quite sure somebody in that locker room model walk
up to him say, and I know this deeper than
what people want to be.
Speaker 2 (27:21):
Hey, bro, come on now, is there a problem off
the field?
Speaker 3 (27:26):
Is there something that's bothering you somebody that you're close
to on this team or not on this team? And
I know it's not as deep as what I'm saying,
because it's just a few drop balls. But ain't this
what we're always talking about, finding somebody that you can
find in to help you fix your problem. Now, maybe
(27:46):
it's a CD problem that only he can fix, but
maybe it's something outside of football that maybe Jessic can
help me.
Speaker 2 (27:52):
It occurred.
Speaker 3 (27:53):
Are you you get what I'm saying? Because is this
thing go on? Is this thing go on? And he
becomes that leader of running the offense through guess what
the better this Steve Spagnola gonna do. He ain't catching
the ball. This dude is not gonna win it. So
guess who you have to rely on? Then CD? Because
(28:15):
somebody gonna say in this Detroit, Kansas City And the
next scene, this.
Speaker 2 (28:21):
Dude ain't number three, ain't beating us.
Speaker 3 (28:23):
I don't care how many great jumps he make, how
many this that we're gonna bracket it with our best guys,
our best safety and best corner and we'll see so
then it'll fall back on CD. But what we need
to make sure, and this is what the coach has
to does. This is what Dak has to make sure.
CD is on page A couple of them routes CD
was way out of whack. Dak was on fire throwing
(28:46):
that ball. CD was out of whack. He was in
the wrong place. He's got to tighten itself up. Take
what you can use what we just said, throw the
rest in the trash.
Speaker 8 (28:59):
And then good stuff, Nate. And then Jerry had something
interesting to say.
Speaker 2 (29:04):
Is it today on the van?
Speaker 6 (29:05):
Yeah? This morning on the fan he said, George Pickens
is gonna be here next season.
Speaker 1 (29:10):
Yeah, you know what that franchise tag is still, that's
the thing, like Jerry's not saying it now. Do I
think that Jerry would like to try to get a
deal that's Jerry's kind of deal. Sure, but Jerry is
under the heat. Jerry fully understands if all else fails,
I still possessed and part of the reason, you know,
(29:33):
Jerry's one of the people on the forefront of getting
the salary cap and you know, and and franchise tags,
like Jerry was a part of all of that. You
know what I'm saying for reasons such as this of
we got something really good. Don't quite know how I'm
a figure out how to pay this thing out. But
he also knows well the way that this fan base
(29:56):
is eating up the productivity. George Pickens, I cannot let
him go. I cannot let him go. I can't And
so it's gonna be spent that well, we're trying to
work out a deal, and then it's also gonna be spent,
as you know, it's only so much pie. Then it's
(30:17):
gonna be spent as you know. Now he's the bad
guy because his agent is the same agent that we
had to deal with before that. One of these astronomical
numbers that just don't make sense for us. And we're
offering the franchise tag twenty eight million dollars, which can't
do twenty eight million dollars, and it'll put it back
on the player again of being a mile content and
(30:39):
you know, wanting too much and not thinking about the team.
That's why he can sit here and say, well, he's
gonna be here twenty twenty six through hell of high water.
He ain't going nowhere because I possess we possessed the Cowboys,
possess the franchise tag.
Speaker 2 (30:56):
Do we think.
Speaker 8 (30:59):
That all all the years that we've known, since the
salary cap and the Super Bowl years, the year's night
was on the team and we haven't seen no salary
cap might do.
Speaker 2 (31:10):
That's what I'm saying. Since the salary cap, we've we've
heard all in, but we've seen.
Speaker 1 (31:17):
Look at this.
Speaker 2 (31:17):
This is different.
Speaker 1 (31:18):
Is entertainment. This is the entertainment park. Finish ahead.
Speaker 8 (31:22):
Because Jesse and I have had this discussion all their
multiple you know what, the entertainer.
Speaker 2 (31:26):

Back to Hanging with the Bulls.
Speaker 8 (33:42):
Welcome back to the final segment of Hanging with the Boys.
Brought you each and every show by seven to eleven.
We are talking about two guys that are opened twenty
four to seven, just like seven eleven. George Pickens, Seedy
Lamb question. Me and Jesse talk about this all the time.
We've never seen and we have different opinions on this.
Speaker 2 (34:02):
We've never seen.
Speaker 8 (34:06):
Upstairs, Jerry Steven. Will all those guys in charge of
making personnel decisions really go all in?
Speaker 2 (34:14):
Right?
Speaker 8 (34:15):
We've been told we're going all in. We've we've grown
our own at home, and we've for the most part
signed those guys. Since Dion and Charles, we haven't gone
all in with like, I'm going to get these guys
no matter what it cost me, i will mortgage my future.
We've been so conscious around here to not getting salary
(34:37):
cap hell to not.
Speaker 2 (34:39):
Mortgage the future.
Speaker 8 (34:40):
Like the Eagles, the Eagles are still writing checks that
they're gonna have to cash one day, but they're like,
you know what, We're gona win as many Super Bowls
as we can till we get there. Jerry, I think
would rather go eight and eight for eternity and not
go all in and have a two to three year
window and then all of a sudden go back to
winning three and four games for four or five more
(35:02):
years and having to rebuild because you know, he likes
the stadium full, he likes the entertainment value. He wants
people to have fun, doesn't He doesn't want to suffer
through it. You know I don't either as a fan.
But at some point I'm like, okay, it's been lot.
The Rangers did it right, and it was like, you
know what.
Speaker 2 (35:20):
I'm good.
Speaker 8 (35:21):
I'm good for twenty more years. I got that when
it happened in my lifetime.
Speaker 2 (35:25):
Let me do it.
Speaker 8 (35:27):
I just have this feeling with this move that they
made with Quinn Williams, and they gave up some draft
capital that they've never really done before, and you see
what a big difference it made. You got these pieces
in place for the next couple of years. On offense,
if you sign pickings and you have to mortgage some
of your future, and then you got this. You got
(35:48):
a hell of a front three right now, front five,
however you want to look at it, Go get two
or three more guys on that defense. Draft really well,
wherever you want to, wherever you want to draft, but
go get some immediate impact guys in the off season
that can you can put around quinnen and make a
real legit run the next two years and then.
Speaker 2 (36:09):
Who cares what happens in the future. We've never done.
Speaker 8 (36:11):
That, and I just feel like we're getting We're getting
to a point where we don't have the opportunity to
do that. This is the first time in a long
time I felt like you could do that with this team,
but you have to give stuff up. I think they're
gonna do it this offseason. I think they're actually gonna
go all in Jesse. I don't think it feels that way, Chris.
Speaker 1 (36:34):
Give me that to che. Given having one time to
che you.
Speaker 8 (36:38):
Say how you feel, and I want to know how
you guys feel, because this is a really no matter
what happens the rest of the season, I think we
know we got something working on defense.
Speaker 2 (36:47):
Like Nate said, we're building something for Once.
Speaker 8 (36:49):
Offense is built, you're there right with a couple of
maybe a couple of pieces here and there. How you
feel about it, Jesse, And then you guys kind of
jump in.
Speaker 1 (36:57):
For me, it's you're trying to get a tiger to
change his stripes. Right in thirty years, they've been doing
it a certain way. And Jerry, if no one understands
the pulse of his people, it's Jerry, and he can
(37:19):
feel when that thing is kind of going the wrong way.
And this is just my personal opinion, because sometimes it's
more profitable to not win it all, to not win
it all just to keep you coming, Like, because think
about how this season is gone, right, they think about
how the season is gone. The extreme excitement at the beginning,
(37:41):
it's the beginning of football. Everyone excited. Possibilities are endless,
are endless. The season comes, as Nate would say, you
need about the three three four games of the first
couple of games to kind of figure out what your
team is. So the excitement is still there. Doesn't go well, right,
You're losing, You're losing your steam. Defense is playing historically back,
(38:04):
but you're still being talked about at a record pace
because you're not good. But then there's kind of that
that apathy is setting in. People are kind of getting
upset and like, oh, here we go again. And then
the trade deadline hits. Boom, you make a blockbust, the
trade excitement's back, right, come out, you play the Raiders.
(38:30):
We're back. Then you go and you beat the Eagles.
Now you have a fan base that are that is
absolutely engaged again. Everybody is locked in and they're going
to be locked in to the end of the season
because even if you lose on Thanksgiving, the you're not
(38:50):
mathematically eliminated, right, So like you're still going to be
tied in because now the fans are being like, man,
but if we get down to that last game, what happens.
We're scoreboarding other teams and we're score boarding you know,
who's losing, who's winning over there, and you're trying to
go down to that last little bit. I watched it
this morning on the ESPs. Shout to my guy Jeff Saturday.
(39:12):
He did like, oh, there's still a chance for the
Cowboys to make the playoffs. It's like, right now they're
at a ten percent chance of making the playoffs. He
goes let's just say that they lose on Thanksgiving, but
then they just run the table and all of a sudden,
now is an eighty two percent chance that they make
the playoffs. People are holding on for that. They're holding
on for that. And then we get to the offseason,
and then now I got you again, because thirty three
(39:34):
percent of your rosters change over every single year. I
do believe that he's probably going to franchise George Pickens.
But now what you and this is the thing that's
different every single year, is that now you assume that
quinnin is going to be as good next year, that
he's not going to have a down year or an injury,
or that Osa is not going to be that, or
this is not going to be that, or now that
(39:56):
the team that you're facing this year or not becoming
year because Quinn is a surprised to a lot of people.
Quinn was a surprise to Philadelphia. They Philadelphia coming into
the year, they weren't thinking about having to stop Quinn Williams.
They thinking about, we got Mosie Smith that we gotta
deal with. So now I have an entire offseason. What
happens within your division is the Giants Washington and Philadelphia,
(40:21):
they all go. We now draft and free agency to
now address that problem that we have. We have a
Quinn Williams problem. So now coming in the next year,
Quinn is not a surprise to anybody. He is a
full blown on situation that we now are not surprised by,
and we've geared up both strategy wise and talent wise
(40:47):
on how we can try to stop that problem or
how we can Now if you bring back Matt ebra Flus.
All right, Matt ebra Flus, now we know that you
want to go to a five man front. Okay, cool,
So now we know we put the tal was coming
in the next year. What are ways that we can
go and defeat a five man front? All that now
was in the play because ibra Flus wasn't doing this
(41:08):
heading into So I'm saying all that to say all
that changes next year because these surprises that you had
this year to come the second half of the season
are no longer surprises, and you're asking you're now hoping
for something that's been a thirty year run to be
broken in the sense of how they operate and whether
they spend money and technically going all in sometime this
(41:30):
all in means, yeah, we did all in and right November.
Speaker 8 (41:33):
But I don't think you've ever had a crossroads where
you don't know how much longer you're going to be
a part of the franchise. Right, All the kids and
the grandkids are all in the they're all there with
you during the game. The family's there, right, you don't
know how long that dynamic.
Speaker 1 (41:51):
So let me ask you.
Speaker 8 (41:51):
And then you've actually got the collateral to do it,
which you haven't had in the past.
Speaker 1 (41:55):
So not to bring up, not to bring up kind
of like morbid type stuff. Right, But earlier this this year,
it was revealed that Jerry Jones had had cancer years ago.
Right now, if nothing else were to get you to
move your tail, go to the doctor and be told
that you got cancer, you know what I'm saying, Like,
(42:16):
I mean, we kurt right now, I don't. I don't
mean you know what I'm saying. But but nothing else
will make you want to be more live down when
you figure out I'm dealing with something that might take
me out.
Speaker 2 (42:26):
Sense of urgency.
Speaker 1 (42:27):
Yeah, that didn't make a move.
Speaker 8 (42:29):
I just I'm telling you so, like, yeah, I guess.
Speaker 1 (42:32):
This is my this is my mind. This is I'm
not saying you're the voice.
Speaker 3 (42:38):
Did he not go and get Quinny? Did he use
as sets? Yes he did. Uh did we go get
a a somewhat proven wide receiver, Yes we did. H
you have lost a that we lost the valuable past Russia.
Speaker 2 (43:00):
And that right there.
Speaker 3 (43:04):
Changed the way you did business because you never We've
never gotten rid of a player of that caliber ever,
even in the Landry days. But we did this time bit.
Whether he made you mad, whether it's money, I don't
know that. I wasn't in there, but you have done
a few different things. This is this is a MA
(43:28):
I'm with Shannon. This is a major off season because
I don't think the fan base it's gonna sit still
if it is shot still for these thirty years, you know, Uh,
it's a lot of people kicking themselves. I understand where
I understand. I understand what you're saying, and I see
(43:50):
what you're saying. I've been a part of what you're saying.
But this is a year where you're gonna have to
make some changes for your players and make this team better.
Because what I'm saying now is when you do have
those one or two three bad games, now the tickets.
Speaker 2 (44:13):
Have already been bought for the next three years.
Speaker 3 (44:15):
They're not going anywhere, but it's always projections, and I
think they want to get something going that is sustainable because,
like you said, Philadelphia Eagles, they offense line one one hundred,
but they're still better than eighty percent of offensive lines
in here, and they did.
Speaker 2 (44:34):
A great job.
Speaker 3 (44:36):
So what you draft, whether you use the franchise tag
or not, you got to bring back a better team
next year. And this team cannot falter coming out of
the gates. Do mister Jones have to What can we
do next? I don't think they want that. I think
that they're going to make a concerted effort because they
(44:57):
have changed a few things. Whether it was about force
or whether they wanted to, they had to change the
way they did business this past year.
Speaker 2 (45:05):
They had to.
Speaker 3 (45:06):
So now, do you feel good now? Do the upper
brass feel good about the changes they've made and the
decisions they've made? I think they gotta feel pretty good
right now. But I believe this right here, and I
believe it a year ago. They've been building. You've seen
the player drop off. I've seen the player drop off.
(45:27):
These guys from us know how we feel about it.
I think they're gonna have to do business a little
bit different now. I do agree that they're gonna have.
Speaker 2 (45:34):
To franchise pickets because they ain't.
Speaker 3 (45:40):
None went up from twenty five to twenty. Yeah, it
goes up every week. So I agree with you there.
But if you don't, if you don't in the next
two years, show this fan base that you really, really,
really do care.
Speaker 2 (45:59):
It.
Speaker 3 (46:00):
I've been here when it was ugly, bro, and people
don't think it can get ugly. I promise you it
can get ugly, and it can get ugly quick. Because
just like mister Jones has the right to say Sony.
Speaker 2 (46:14):
Wingstop were snatching your deal, they had a little clause
to saying we at you too. Brother. So that's what
I believe.
Speaker 6 (46:23):
What you think, Kurt, I tend to lean on your
guys side. I think they are doing things a little differently.
They have their windows now, Dak Prescott. They have a
franchise quarterback playing at the top of his game right now.
Those are hard to find. They don't take advantage of
it now like they seem to be doing. They don't
keep building. This is this maybe Jerry's last window.
Speaker 1 (46:42):
Yeah, and I think, Mom, you pushed me out by myself.
Speaker 8 (46:46):
I stand here by myself and nobody and nobody like
I come to the edge of the things and I
take the vest off and I just stand out there
by myself like that.
Speaker 1 (46:55):
Even my boy Kurt, my boy Kurt.
Speaker 6 (46:59):
Jes.
Speaker 3 (46:59):
The good thing, the good thing about this right here
is we can't none of us are finch Riders.
Speaker 2 (47:07):
But no, excuse me, most some of us are not
finch riders. But you have to agree.
Speaker 3 (47:15):
We've never seen I thought in Menia they never use
these draft picks, not doing the season.
Speaker 2 (47:21):
They gonna wait, They're gonna build this thing up. It's
gonna be Ringling brothers. They did it.
Speaker 3 (47:26):
I saw, we saw him do that. But no, but
we saw him do that. But did we ever see
the Parsons deal.
Speaker 1 (47:32):
We've never seen that. I think that was that was
a different situation. Again. I think that was so I
think that got so personal, right, And that's what I
don't believe that that was a business to see.
Speaker 2 (47:43):
That's my point.
Speaker 8 (47:43):
I think football now is personal, and I think.
Speaker 1 (47:47):
In a business, no, I think I think that's I
think that never got that is my opinion. That's I
just I don't think that never got football personal. That
got personal, man personal. And I agree, and he made
he made a decision and to do that. But again,
I've been around here long enough where you know when
(48:07):
when when they went wide receiver by committee and they
realized that that wasn't gonna work, they got they fell
into a desperate situation.
Speaker 2 (48:15):
Right, what do you have to do?
Speaker 1 (48:16):
I have to now go and overpay for God, And
they did that. They said the first round pick too.
Speaker 2 (48:22):
We gotta get out of here. Okay, quickly, let me
say this.
Speaker 3 (48:26):
The what I was hoping and it didn't happen, thank god,
was they had a quick fix to the defense.
Speaker 2 (48:33):
They had a quick fix. Yes they did. The quick
fix was they tried.
Speaker 1 (48:39):
They realized quickly that that what we thought was gonna
be the fix ain't the fix. But again that's why
Quinn is here.
Speaker 2 (48:45):
No, no, no, the quick fix was not that EBA flux
was out. Bro, we was gonna do something we normally
don't do.
Speaker 3 (48:55):
This This defense quest is if he wanted to just
to keep it status quo.
Speaker 2 (48:59):
Hey, that's just will just fly this thing by night
his pick. But I understand, I know it wasn't.
Speaker 3 (49:08):
And that's what like most things are Jerry's pick, and
he will do what he has to do.
Speaker 2 (49:13):
He'll he'll put the salt shakers up there and everything.
Speaker 1 (49:17):
We know that Jerry don't want to send nobody home
that he still has to pay for while they get
this head to sit on the beach.
Speaker 2 (49:24):
He don't. But it would have been, it had been cheaper,
it'd been a little cheaper. I know, we gotta go.
Speaker 8 (49:29):
You know what my fear is, this goes back to
you and you, both of you, both your points. This
fan base, this fan current fan base is going nowhere.
My fear is, if you don't do something now, you're
gonna miss a whole generation.
Speaker 2 (49:43):
Because if you don't win the.
Speaker 8 (49:46):
People my age, Kurt's age, y'all, we're here, we locked in.
Speaker 2 (49:49):
We ain't going nowhere, but.
Speaker 8 (49:50):
Their kids, their grandkids, the next generation teams. If you
don't do something and show that like okay, I'm actually going,
you're gonna miss a whole and then that's where it's
gonna get ugly, is down the road twenty ten, twenty
years from now.
Speaker 2 (50:06):
So good stuff, man, this was good.
Speaker 8 (50:08):
Hey, tomorrow, we got a lot to get in tomorrow
because we didn't get to anything on the field today.
Speaker 2 (50:13):
Yes, sir, you're going to be on the time of tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (50:15):
Maybe now jacking late now jack like that after we
talked about that's free but dumba eight.
Speaker 1 (50:23):
I'm not like eighty eight now.
Speaker 2 (50:26):
Yes, good stuff, kurk Is. Tell Chris thanks to keep
us on the air. Josh, thanks for keeping him. Comping
me back tomorrow. Hang with the boys we are.
Speaker 12 (50:33):
