Yeah? He was saying that somebody been lotton or something
like that. He said, but it'd offend somebody. So yeah, okay,
you know, telling them before the show came on. Watch
a really good three part documentary series.
Speaker 5 (02:22):
He goes, let's talk about on the show. I said,
Now it'll piss somebody off.
Speaker 2 (02:25):
We can talk about running whiskey up in Tennessee and
stuff like that. I mean, I watched that documentary. It's
called Lawless. It was good.
Speaker 5 (02:34):
Yeah, it was good about the old alcohol runners, how
NASCAR started.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
Right, that's how it started?
Speaker 5 (02:42):
What's that all? I want to go watch that?
Speaker 2 (02:43):
Yeah? Man? He called a movie called Lawless Man.
Speaker 5 (02:46):
Lawless Okay, yeah.
Speaker 6 (02:49):

Speaker 2 (02:50):
It was a movie I watched a documentary.
Speaker 4 (02:53):

you seem like you're kind of a historian.
Speaker 7 (02:58):
Appreciate we all you've pecked me all roll Really no, now,
I just I don't know like documentaries like even you

Speaker 9 (03:19):
Not know that.
Speaker 7 (03:20):
Literally I watched three things. It's a sports football, basketball, baseball,
Game show Network, okay, on Game Show Network or HG TV.
That's probably the extent of my TV.
Speaker 5 (03:38):
Which one's HG.
Speaker 8 (03:40):
It's the home and the.
Speaker 6 (03:41):
Home like the Home Garden TV.
Speaker 5 (03:43):

Speaker 7 (03:44):
Yeah, like that is my that that is my TV

Speaker 4 (04:04):
Okay, Old Family Feud or New Steve Harvey Family Feuder.
Speaker 5 (04:08):
Richard Dawson.
Speaker 7 (04:08):
Now Richard Dawson was kissing folks in the mouth. I never,
I never I was. I always thought that was weird.
Speaker 10 (04:13):
Yeah.
Speaker 7 (04:14):
I always thought I always yeah, I always thought like
and like and they punk.
Speaker 6 (04:18):
Her up right there with him.
Speaker 7 (04:19):
I was like, you know, and then like as a
kid growing up, you know, whenever you stayed home, it
was kind of like you had to watch Wheel of
Fortune was a part of you know, programming. Your grandmother
she my grandmother watched westerns, Wheel of Fortune and then
like the little the soap operas and stuff like that.
Speaker 6 (04:33):
So but yeah, that's that's that is.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
My that's my will house of TV.
Speaker 5 (04:38):
Watch what about you?
Speaker 4 (04:38):

Speaker 8 (04:40):
Sports for sure, and then you know, just general movies.
I watched some documentaries on occasion.
Speaker 5 (04:45):
So yeah, just you don't have a series that you're into,
Oh not fast.
Speaker 2 (04:51):
In the few.
Speaker 8 (04:54):
Latest Netflix thing on or something land Man?
Speaker 5 (04:57):
You've seen land Man?
Speaker 8 (04:58):

Speaker 5 (04:59):
Good seasons coming out?
Speaker 2 (05:00):
Yeah, look forward to But you nate anything that don't

Speaker 5 (05:08):

Speaker 4 (05:11):
Now you pay subscription and you get charged and you
gotta watch commercials unless you want to like up charge.
Speaker 8 (05:18):
Why anybody watching something the other day?
Speaker 11 (05:21):
Like?
Speaker 8 (05:21):
Why are you commercial? Why are we watching commercials? I
watch something you don't have to watch commercial.
Speaker 5 (05:25):
This is twenty twenty five. Why am I watching a commercial?
Speaker 7 (05:28):
Josh had asked me the other day, And I know
I went to the movies. We could go to see
that that old movie. But Josh was, you know jocks,
Josh the movie buff like he loves and he's like,
when of the last movie you went to see? Besides
when I saw the Last Dragon and I could not remember.
I could not remember what movie? What was the last
in the theater movie that I saw? I want to say.
(05:51):
I want to say it was like Lion King Wow,
like not the originally like the new reboot one.
Speaker 4 (05:57):
Oh the yeah Wow. I think man was other than
my kid. I've seen a bunch of stuff him, but
probably Top Gun too. That's the last one I saw.
Speaker 2 (06:06):
I'm going to was.
Speaker 7 (06:07):
Nice, Josh, you would you would be happening to know, Josh.
I think I'm going to go see Now You See Me,
Now you don't? Three, the three never the new ones
coming out? Yeah, that one. I like that Now You
See Me Now you don't.
Speaker 2 (06:20):
I like that. That's a super movie. I like that.
There's something you can show the kids there.
Speaker 5 (06:24):
That's one of those sneaky movies. It was sneaky good.
It was like National Treasure. It was like you watching
you like you know what?
Speaker 6 (06:28):
That was really good.
Speaker 5 (06:30):
I expecting that that.
Speaker 2 (06:31):
Was a good movie. I like that. All right, Hey y'all, Hey,
y'all want to get treated to something? Yes, I don't
know if you you know, I don't know if y'all
look at other people podcasts. This show that comes on
after us, they got a dude on there that would
say anything. Just why just listen to about what y'all
(06:54):
talked about. It's something you said yesterday. I'm like, you're
worse than me.
Speaker 3 (07:00):
Just to listen to him.
Speaker 2 (07:02):
Hey, you get in tune in, tune in bro, because
he was he was he was set it off. I mean,
he was setting up. But anyway, he's more exciting than
these Raiders anyway.
Speaker 5 (07:13):
So how bad are the.
Speaker 4 (07:14):
Raiders from what y'all see?
Speaker 2 (07:18):
That one't politically correct? You want to say, well, how good.
Speaker 5 (07:23):
As bad as y'all thought said they were? Are they?
I mean we're not.
Speaker 6 (07:30):
We're not World two and seven.
Speaker 8 (07:32):
But they sure played Denver better than Dallas did and
they only lost to Chicago one.
Speaker 5 (07:37):
That's my question, is we keep saying how bad the.
Speaker 2 (07:40):
Raiders are, and we're only in record. If you watch
the film, they played decent, but he's just always one
or two plays in the game that gets them. You know,
they got what six interceptions, eighteen sacks. Matt Crosby leaded
with five. They run a four man front max lineup
(08:00):
in Denver. He lined up everywhere on the center, over
both tackles, a litit on the guards. Shortyarded situations, they'll
run over kind of front. But they play hard and
they play But I maybe and Jesse probably can get
(08:21):
into the nuts and bolts of why are they losing?
Because they ain't giving them what twenty four points a game.
So you're saying to yourself, it's just sol of their offense.
You know, I can't put my finger on it, and
I'm not finna go through that. I went through the
Broncos in part of the game before that. I can't
(08:43):
think of who they played right before that, just part
of Jacksonville. So I went through the Broncos and Jackson Jesse,
you can have it. I ain't gonna no more.
Speaker 7 (08:52):
Well to answer your question, Shane, I think when it
comes to because their defense, I don't know. I don't
know if the bar is set their defense better than
our defense, like like they're they're in the middle, They're
they're middle of the pack defense. Like so you're talking
about like statistics alone better than ours. I think their
(09:13):
biggest issue is they don't have an offense that.
Speaker 6 (09:17):
Gives them points. The offense turns the ball over coming
to town.
Speaker 7 (09:24):
I know, but this defense, like of course we all
know the name right, Like we couldn't say his name
because we're talking about trade deadline stuff. We can say
it now, Max Crosby, like he's the guy. And if
I'm Max Crosby, honestly, I'm looking at my chops because
I can now. And to Nate's point, this defensive coordinator,
(09:48):
Pat Graham, this DC he is given. He has given
him the freedom to line up all up and down
that defensive front. Part of the reason why you can
we noticed that a little bit when when Michael Parsons
was here, is that if I line him up at
the same spot every single time, then you get a
beat on him. You can have a tight end over
there running back over there, chipping them, double them, tripling
(10:09):
him at some time point in times. But if I
keep moving him, if I keep giving them different matchups
and different looks. Then you can't break the huddle and
set up a double team or chip that way, if
I line him up in the middle, ain't no chips
coming in the middle.
Speaker 6 (10:22):
You know my double ain't coming in now.
Speaker 7 (10:25):
I can slide my line one way or another, but
lining him up all over the place gives him an
advantage because he can he can get after the week
link on your offensive line.
Speaker 8 (10:34):
There's a guy like that. Can he decide where he's
gonna line up and they break the huddle?
Speaker 2 (10:40):
Can he intelligence tells you this intelligence? Now, when he
want to go back home, he go back over to
that right I want to go home, he go to
that right tackle. That's he coming home now. Yeah, And
even his movement is a littit more fluid when he
go over that right tackle. When he go over nates
(11:00):
are still whichever one you won't coach he coming. His
movements is totally different. When he goes to the right side.
He's a little bit more controlled everywhere else, like he's
trying to say, Okay, I'm not as comfortable here, so
i'ma make sure I do my job at disposition. But
when he goes to the right tackle. You'll see him slant,
(11:21):
You'll see him he would do his thing over there.
Speaker 7 (11:24):
You know, you know, you're know, you're absolutely right, and
you know, and that's the you know, Matt saying back
to Crosby is a low hanging fruit. But he is
a guy that when you turn on the film, of course,
he is a he's a plus player. He's one of
the elite guys in the league. We had the conversation
when you talk about elast elite edge rudgers in this
in this league, it's Garrett, it's Parsons, it's Crosby, like
(11:47):
he's in w like he's in that conversation. Of those
elite pass rushers, you can add, you know, maybe a
Bosa in there, you know, or you know, on the
tail end of that, maybe a Hutcheson.
Speaker 6 (11:59):
But he's he's one of those.
Speaker 7 (12:00):
You don't get too far down that list before you
get to Max Crosby. So you know, I know that's
going to be an emphasis for the Cowboys. You be
a fool if it wasn't.
Speaker 4 (12:10):
Is there anybody else at the top of their playbook
or or sheets.
Speaker 2 (12:15):
For this week that I'm a forty nine?
Speaker 5 (12:18):
That's name is going to be up there besides Crosby on.
Speaker 2 (12:20):
Defense forty nine, got it, Charles Snowden. He can flash.
I've seen him flash come time. But like I say,
I haven't fans. I apologize. It's just I had this
problem when I was a player. When I deem you sorry,
I just glanced at you like I deemed him sorry.
(12:42):
Even though their defense is sturdy, I would hate that
be coming and say, y'all, the defense crushes. The defense
is sturdy. R A defense is sturdy.
Speaker 6 (12:52):
Defense isn't the problem.
Speaker 2 (12:54):
That makes sense, yes, sir, like that.
Speaker 7 (12:56):
It's not the solution either, but it ain't the problem, right,
Like if you got if you had, if you had
an offense, and for the most part this offense, I
shouldn't say that most part, but like coming into this year,
people would have thought that this office would have been better. Yes,
you get the you get the draft pick and asking
gent you got, you already had brock Bauers traded you
(13:18):
were hoping for and what they had Jacobe Myers and
they traded him away. But you would hope that you
you you didn't expect to get this version of Geno's
that that's that's been the biggest problem. Offensively, you didn't
expect to get. You expected to get the gino that
they had over there Inattle, Seattle last year and the
years before that, where it kind of like found his
(13:39):
groove and and and so when they came when he
came over here, he just hasn't played anywhere near close
to to what he was before. But defensively, they're gonna blitz,
you know, they'll use Jamal Adams as a blitzer, you know,
and he's always he plays that.
Speaker 6 (13:54):
He plays that kind of.
Speaker 7 (13:58):
That Buddha Baker kind of roll, you know what I mean,
Like Buddha Baker pays that like that star linebacker. He's
not really a linebacker. He's not really a safety, but
he plays near the box. He'll blitz, he'll try to
cover a little bit. Not a great cover guy. He
wants to bring the physicality. So just think, just think
in the in the in the in the the mindset
(14:19):
of Buddha Baker, Right, that's what Jamal Adams is now
at this point in time of his career. He's kinda
he's kind of that star. He's that starbacker, not a safety,
not a linebacker. They move him around a little bit
like I said, he's a guy to watch for if
they're gonna send the blitz. Yeah, I mean there is it.
There isn't outside of Max Crosby. He is a force multiplier.
(14:44):
They'll rotate, they'll rotate, you know, even a guy like
Tyree Woodson. We heard that name in trade conversations about
he's a Fromer, first round pick out of Texas Tech,
and you know, he hadn't quite lived up to that billing.
But I've now had to adjust my film watching mindset
(15:07):
because I say these things and I go, well, it
seems as if when the cowboys come to town, what
I see on film as it always play out the
bill or the weaknesses I see on the film on like,
you know, they all of a sudden, now they'll go
from having two sacks and they'll be five, or they
won't get on it.
Speaker 2 (15:24):
You know.
Speaker 7 (15:24):
So I'll say defensively that the the the Oakland excuse me,
the Vegas Raiders defense isn't their achilles heel. It's not
the weak point of their team, and very beatable, very beatable.
But you better have a plan for number ninety eight
(15:47):
every down because he's in there on the run, he's
in there on the past.
Speaker 2 (15:51):
He's not.
Speaker 3 (15:52):
He is.
Speaker 7 (15:53):
He is as good as a run defender as he
is as a pass rusher.
Speaker 6 (15:59):
And his motor is relentless.
Speaker 2 (16:01):
He can sit in his chair and touch you.
Speaker 6 (16:04):
Yes, yeah, old is relentless.
Speaker 7 (16:08):
Just when you think this might be a good time,
I can single block just for this one play is
when he'll kill you.
Speaker 6 (16:15):
It's when he will get you. So so you know that.
Speaker 7 (16:18):
That is the thing about Max Crosby is he has
a relentless moltor And it's not like you know, I've
I've made jokes before about like, oh, this guy is
just all motor.
Speaker 2 (16:30):
No, he is skilled Detroit.
Speaker 6 (16:33):
Yeah, he is skilled. He is motor.
Speaker 7 (16:40):
He is smart. He's smart, Yes, sir, did I say skilled?
He he has an array of past rush moves. He'll he'll, he'll,
he'll dip and rip, he'll go smooth you, he'll uh,
he'll one arm stab you, he'll bull rush you. He
his tool boxes, There's toolbox is full of moves. And
(17:02):
like I said, I don't know if it's gonna be Nate.
Speaker 2 (17:04):
I don't know if it's gonna be Thomas. It ain't
gonna be Nate.
Speaker 6 (17:09):
And you're right because I say that I'm like.
Speaker 2 (17:12):
Him. You gotta Nate Thomas. He's sitting there, He's sitting
in there.
Speaker 5 (17:19):
There's one, there's one.
Speaker 2 (17:24):
The Green Bay that might.
Speaker 7 (17:29):
But yeah, like that has to be so, whether it's
Nate Thomas or whether it's Terry Steele Shoddy, they have
to have they have to have a game plan. You
can you can run on this team if you need to.
Definitely you can run on this team if you need to.
And of course you can pass the ball, uh if
you need to. But when you do it, you you
(17:50):
and the Cowboys have done this if you go back
look at the last couple of games. And we'll talk
about office tomorrow. So I don't want to get too
far in that, but the Cowboys have gone to some
more heavy in sets when they want to pass the
ball down the field. So I wouldn't be shocked if
that's a part of this week's game plan as well.
Speaker 4 (18:06):
All right, let's talk about that Cowboys offense and is
football fun for you guys anymore?
Speaker 5 (18:12):
When we come back on hanging with the boys.
Speaker 2 (18:13):

Speaker 4 (20:37):
Ah, all right, you mentioned watching tape and having to
re reprogram your brain.
Speaker 5 (20:44):
How you watch tape.
Speaker 4 (20:45):
When you guys watch a game, I know you watch
it the way you watch it your whole life, from
a film and a battle standpoint and kind of breaking
down every do you enjoy?
Speaker 5 (20:58):
Do you ever just sit back and go, I'm not
gonna watch this from an analytical standpoint.
Speaker 4 (21:03):
I'm just gonna watch the flow of the game, because
I think most fans, you watch the ball gets hyped
to the to the quarterback. You watch the quarterback with
the ball, then you watch where the ball goes. You
guys are watching, okay, the push up front, the battle
up front, and then your eyes probably go somewhere else
and you don't really you don't get to enjoy the
(21:24):
flow of the game and the fandom and the excitement
because you're too busy.
Speaker 5 (21:30):
Liked you see that guy get pushed four yards off
the ball, like we watch it.
Speaker 4 (21:34):
As a as a whole, right from the god's eye,
right from the way up.
Speaker 5 (21:38):
You're watching individual stuff. Do you even if you're watching
a game, you're not.
Speaker 2 (21:43):
Oh no, I've learned, I've trained. I'm gonna enjoy the
game because if I find myself trying to watch it.
Maybe Jesse is still watching, trying to watch it from
the inside out. I miss everything right, I'm trying to
look at these linemen and the ball gone. So I
gotta wait for the replay to see what you know
what I'm saying. So I trained now, but I'm looking
(22:04):
at this film like a couple of weeks ago. I
have problems with that. When we were watching Denver, I
truly had a problems because I saw what was finna
happen to us. I saw it firsthand, and I'm like,
this is not a good feeling for me because I'm
all cowboys and I knew it was finna get smashed.
So in the next week I wasn't joking. I didn't
(22:26):
watch film the way I watched it.
Speaker 5 (22:28):
Take a break.
Speaker 2 (22:29):
I'm like, no, sir, because when you know a weakness
and I know our cowboy weaknesses, and I'm looking at
this film and I'm like, how do we line up
and block this? What scheme does Coach Shotenham has for
this rail? And so I don't even in the defense,
I'm like, this is you know, three four weeks ago. Nay, Nay,
(22:50):
this is just Nate, Nate. I'm gonna quit looking at
film objectively. I'm just gonna say, they ain't played the
Cowboys yet. You hear what these still saying, like I
want to say this, but they ain't played the Cowboys yet.
That means we're not a very good team. And so
I look, I'm like, finally we got a team that
(23:11):
I think that it is sorrier than us. So I
can watch the film.
Speaker 4 (23:14):
But you but when you watch your teams, you step
back and you enjoy.
Speaker 2 (23:19):
The game, not the Cowboys, and see the Raiders is
my second best team, So I'm like, wow.
Speaker 4 (23:24):
But then you go back and watch the film, so
you try to watch it from a fans perspective.
Speaker 2 (23:27):
Right only during the week and like Monday night, not this.
And when I'm looking at film from this.
Speaker 5 (23:34):
Right, I'm talking about when you when the game's on live.
Speaker 2 (23:36):
Oh the games on live. Yeah, not our game, not
Cowboys or Raiders. Every other other thirty games I watch
that way.
Speaker 5 (23:43):
But if it's Cowboys, you break out.
Speaker 2 (23:46):
I'm breaking it down because I know we got to
talk about it sooner or later. Okay, what about you.
I haven't got to his point.
Speaker 7 (23:52):
Got every game you're analyzed game I'm looking at down
and distance.
Speaker 5 (23:56):
Even if you don't care about the team.
Speaker 7 (23:58):
It's part of it's a part of who I am.
So every game I'm watching and I'm thinking, okay, it's
second and nine, all right, well you know what's a.
Speaker 6 (24:08):
Good play call?
Speaker 2 (24:08):
Right here? You know?
Speaker 6 (24:09):
You know, I go here? Do I go there?
Speaker 7 (24:12):
I've yet to I've yet to to get to that
point where I can if I go watch a high
school football game. I got friend who a high school
football coaches. I'm going and I'm watching, I'm just like,
oh man, you gotta do I just I don't. I
don't know how to watch the game any other way.
So everything that I watch, I've yet to find the
(24:33):
window of watching it for just pure enjoyment.
Speaker 8 (24:36):
You're like the Tom Brady commercial or the kids are
outside playing the dad's like you got it, you know
he's trying to.
Speaker 2 (24:43):
Yeah, no football, Like.
Speaker 6 (24:47):
I'm like that. I'm like, I just so you don't
enjoy it.
Speaker 4 (24:52):
So if you're gonna watch this, what about basketball? Because
you play back the same thing. Is there anything you watch.
Speaker 2 (24:57):
For enjoyment like a sport the home improvement.
Speaker 6 (25:04):
Down volleyball? No?
Speaker 7 (25:10):
No, Because I'm always trying to like I'm always looking
at the technical aspect of it.
Speaker 5 (25:14):
Right, you have that you had that athlete mindset.
Speaker 7 (25:16):
Yeah, Like I'm always looking at like even I'm not
the biggest baseball enthusiast, but like even when like I'm
watching some of that, I'm like looking and I'm like,
you know, how does how do like how do I
see it come out of the glove? Right, like, because
I'm trying to you hear pictures like you know, they
catch the balls that come out of the glove out
his hand and.
Speaker 6 (25:34):
I'm like, damn, how did he catch that? Like what
what is that?
Speaker 2 (25:36):
What is that?
Speaker 7 (25:37):
What does that force seem to look like? And I
trying to see if the rotation is still there and
you know, swinging and you know when your hands are entight,
you know how the So I'm always watching it in
that level. Now I can enjoy like if you make
an athletic player, I'm just like, you know what I mean, appreciate.
Speaker 6 (25:52):
I appreciate it.
Speaker 2 (25:53):
Like talking about like CD made their face.
Speaker 7 (25:56):
Yes, yeah, So like I'll give you an example.
Speaker 6 (25:59):
I was watching watching the first game that.
Speaker 7 (26:02):
Joe Joe Flacco had took over of the Bengals, and
I remember he was I forgot who they were playing.
But Jamar Chase went off right, and I had long
said this, and this is before ceed got hurt. I
was like, man, by years in, I thought like, man, see,
he's gonna be in the college and being the number
one receiver in the league, right. And then I watched
that game and I'm looking at Jamar Chase and I'm
(26:22):
just like, you know what, this is the best. This,
this dude right here is different. Like and you watch him,
You're just like, I'm not. I'm like, yeah, he made
twenty catches or whatever it was, eighteen whatever the tuckers
he got. But I'm watching, I'm just like, ah, this
dude is powerful. He runs this route in his hands
and he finished, and I was like, I'm like, CD
(26:45):
might be number two, he might type of commage, but
number two, but number one belong to that dude in Cincinnati.
Speaker 6 (26:51):
So like, I'm always looking at the game like that.
Speaker 2 (26:54):
Now.
Speaker 6 (26:54):
I don't know, I don't know, I just.
Speaker 2 (26:57):
Him.
Speaker 7 (26:57):
I've just I don't know. I haven't gotten to that
point of watching it like a fan. Don't know if
I ever will. I don't know if I I don't
even know if I want to.
Speaker 6 (27:04):
I don't know.
Speaker 5 (27:05):
If I want to what about you.
Speaker 8 (27:08):
More analytical and all watching baseball? You know I played
that more and so like what pitch?
Speaker 6 (27:15):
Yeah?
Speaker 8 (27:16):
Why is he lined up there and setting up for this?
Just I know the game, the intricacies of the game board.
Speaker 2 (27:24):
Yeah, I'm gonna tell that right here. And for a
game that you stand around more than half the time,
that is the most technical game baseball. For a game
that you standing around it swings winging bad about it
is so much. It is a line, Kurt, It's a
(27:46):
it's a lot to think about.
Speaker 5 (27:48):
Mechanics are really big.
Speaker 2 (27:51):
Pitching and when I used to talk to them, come
on down. You just swinging the bat? You just going
at okay, that's okay. What you do on this situation?
What you're doing that situation, I don't know. Well, this
is what you're supposed to do. And this is how
you dispose your line up. We already got they got
a bigger scouting.
Speaker 3 (28:08):
Report than we have in football.
Speaker 2 (28:09):
Bro only play on each player what the picture likes
to throw in this situation, you know, you got to
come up as a batter. You got to understand that
two outs, you know, one on now you can't. I'm
like advanced to running with dumb it's two outs already.
How you're going to advance? You know? A little small?
(28:31):
You know, I said, you know what, I quit watching
baseball two technical I just say, bad a battle swing,
you know.
Speaker 5 (28:40):
So base So football is not really fun for you
to watch. Joy you enjoy You enjoy breaking and enjoy that.
Speaker 6 (28:47):
Yeah, that's how you.
Speaker 5 (28:49):
You still enjoyed it.
Speaker 2 (28:52):
I enjoy it.
Speaker 5 (28:53):
I've tried to.
Speaker 4 (28:55):
I've tried to, you know, listening to you guys over
the years. Watch individual battle and watch the push up
front and watch how guys are lined up, and I
miss so much. I don't enjoy watching the game because
I'll look up and they'll be you know, they'll be
halfway down the field. I'll be like, how they go
from the twenty to fifty. I don't even know how
they got here. Because I'm sitting here focused on this,
(29:17):
I can't process it all together, so I have to
pick one or the other. And then half the time
at the end of the game, I'm like, Okay, what
exactly happened in the game because I was watching this
and this, So I know I've tried and I can't
do it. So I just watch it from a holistic
point of it, and to me, it's more enjoyable because.
Speaker 8 (29:35):
It's definitely you go on the ride, you know.
Speaker 2 (29:39):
Yeah, THEFLI thirty two No Follow the Football fl film.
When they started creating that, they said, what's the most
important thing. It's the football. Follow the football, you know.
For me and for Jess, that's kind of hard to do,
and we're trying to break down games always to follow
the football. But he may look at the football game
(30:00):
from outside, inn I look at it from inside. If
my centers and guards are garbage, I know it's gonna
happen to the taps, how great they are, you know.
So I look at it a different a different way.
Speaker 4 (30:10):
And you guys can look at what the first five
ten plays of a game and go, oh, this is.
Speaker 6 (30:17):
I'm telling you.
Speaker 7 (30:18):
I've turned on film many times and watched the first
ten players.
Speaker 6 (30:21):
And be like, either here's the final score. Yeah, I'm like,
I'm like, we're in trouble, or oh, this is gonna
be a field day.
Speaker 2 (30:29):
You know what I'm saying. I don't knowing. Yeah, I
don't be doing what the score gonna be, but I
can tell you what gonna happen to that I'm.
Speaker 7 (30:34):
Like like, I'm like, oh yeah, like we're about to
eat here, there's gonna be one of them games with
so and so and so and so. But yeah, I
can I can tell that sometimes and literally like I
can look at a game and be like, here, what
they should do? You better run outsides on today. Today
you better be one of the days when you run
on the edge. And I'm twelve plays in and then part.
Speaker 8 (30:56):
Of many wishes I knew that intricacy is the game.
You know that really technique and all that part of
me is like, no, I want to.
Speaker 5 (31:02):
Enjoy the right it would take away you don't enjoy.
Speaker 8 (31:05):
Yeah, I don't want to get it be.
Speaker 2 (31:06):
A job almost.
Speaker 7 (31:08):
But see like me like for me is if I'm like,
oh here, come like like this this this was happened
right here, and it happens You're like, I've never a
good place. That's how you're supposed to run that play
or you know or you know whatever. You can see
it kind of a route being set up throughout the
course of a game. You know, like early in the
game you might see something and they might incomplete them
like oh all right, some place coming back?
Speaker 4 (31:29):
All right, so question place question on that both of
you guys, y'all sit here on this show and all
week long you talk about this is what they need
to do. They better do this, this is what's gonna happen.
This person will do this, This is how you come
back that Now, a lot of it's the players on
the field, but then when you're when you know it,
(31:52):
and then it comes Sunday and they don't do what
they should do. How frustrating is that for y'all to know?
Like I know this, Why do you guys over there
not knowing?
Speaker 6 (32:01):
Super frustrating.
Speaker 7 (32:03):
But again, I'm sitting here with just that one issue,
right like, to go and be a DC, Go be
a head coach, go be a OC. There's a million
things going on in his head at the same time, right like,
and it sounds simple, but you know he's thicking clock management,
how many time outs? You know, Jim owers in one
air telling them a players not in. He got another
coach in another year saying this is happening. He's trying
(32:24):
to fill the flow of the game. And so like,
there's so many things that happens in the course of
a game, and then you know it's the chess match
I'm trying to because you can set certain things up,
but a lot of times it's a it's a it's
an educated guessing game. It's like, you know, well I
saw this on film on third downs, and now now
(32:45):
what you hope is and what the really good office
Corny is starting to do now is there there there
by their alignments, by their personnel alignments and motion, they're
dictating the coverage you're going to play, which is the
covers they want you to play to get that playoff
for them. Now, once it happens, the athletes have to
(33:07):
be the athletes, and then that's a whole that's a
that's a whole other predicted you know, predictability that you
just can't factor into it. But you see more and
more now, and I'm just telling y'all, start looking at
that team in LA the Rams, Okay, start looking at
that team in l A and what they're doing with
(33:28):
their offense. You're gonna start seeing a lot more teams
doing what they're doing.
Speaker 6 (33:32):
They were they they that mcveig, that Migvey, that Big
Vey is a bad man.
Speaker 4 (33:37):
Is this like a we at a time now where
this is a transition like when the West Coast offense
came out. It was like, whoa, nobody's ever seen this,
and then everybody starts kind of following suit.
Speaker 5 (33:47):
Is that kind of what he just.
Speaker 2 (33:49):
Forgot to tell y'all, So you better go get Stafford.
Speaker 6 (33:53):
That helps, That helps McVeigh.
Speaker 7 (33:58):
You're gonna start seeing start seeing the shift. And we
already know about like athletic tight ends, but he wants
multiple level. He's starting to run this three tight end
set where he's finding these unicorns that can block and
run past run routes. And now when you start having that,
the mixed matches that he's getting is crazy because he's like, oh,
(34:23):
I want a linebacker on him, I want a safety
on them. And now you don't have enough athletic people
to match up. When you got Pooka on one side
and and and Adam on the other side, and now
you're like, well what And now the tight ends is
athletic and you know they leave him in there for
run plays, and now you start, how do I combat that.
I gotta bring a safety and I gotta bring this in. Okay, cool,
make a run block. Now now the safety's in there.
(34:45):
I'm telling you just that team and that team in.
Speaker 2 (34:48):
La big is pooka that he's about six y two
because what he does is unreal man six. And you
know what I admired about about this coach, you're talking
what i'mmired about. It is during the preseason game, he
went up in the booth let his offensive coordinate, his
(35:09):
so called offensive coordinator called the game, and he talked
to his people, which is you know, the big glimber.
He talked to these people like we talking and like
Jesson is sharing the knowledge. He's set up there sharing
the knowledge. Like I can tell you all day, but
you still ain't gonna stop me. I'm not picking at nobody. Oh,
(35:30):
we're not going to show you nothing. Well, you should
have showed your players because they can't do it. I'm
just being honest. But he does it. Bro Now, he
don't show at all because it's like he got a
bag full of it. But I'm telling him what I'm like,
This man is up in the booth telling his guys
exactly what should have went down there with. He's when
the start, I promise you, I haven't ready to do that.
(35:52):
And I'm like, hold on, that's that's that's a that's
an arrogance. I ain't seen, bro. That's why I fell
in love Withever.
Speaker 7 (36:01):
And those are the type of like when I go
to watch, like if I'm watching an opponent, like if
the Cowboys about to play, I told you got this before,
Like I'm like, let me go fin did they play
the Rams? Let me go see that they play this
use and let me go see that, because I'm telling
y'all like just watch, just watching the next year or two,
you're gonna start seeing more teams trying to go to
this athletic.
Speaker 6 (36:22):
Tight end look.
Speaker 2 (36:25):
And block.
Speaker 7 (36:26):
Yes, and because they because now they'll leave two winning block,
they're line one up way outside outside the numbers. And
what you gotta do. You got to pull your line
back all the way out there. And most of the
time it's like wait, but they an't three tight and set.
So I got the I got a bigger personnel in there.
So which linebacker gonna go out there have to guard
this one? Is the one we got to cover or
(36:46):
the one that we got to tackle, because if the
one that go the tackle's gonna go out there and
guard him back there, like we know we're going with
the ball.
Speaker 5 (36:55):
So just saying all right, let's take your last break.
Speaker 4 (36:58):
When we come back more football, We'll hanging with the Boys.

Welcome back to the final segment of the show, brought
to you by seven eleven.
Speaker 5 (39:18):
Just like seven eleven.
Speaker 4 (39:19):
We are always open for business on this show. And
been a weird week, been a weird layoff, Monday night.
Speaker 5 (39:31):
Schedules all out of whack. Do these extra days?
Speaker 4 (39:37):
Is that going to help your team, your offense, your
defense or is you know? You guys as players are
all about routine and when you get out of your routine, Jesse,
You've talked about it a lot on this show. This
is what I do on Monday, This is what I
do on Tuesday. This is what I do on Wednesday
at two o'clock. This is what I do on Wednesday
at three o'clock. With this being such a weird you know,
(40:02):
the extra time is good, right, but the routine is
all out of whack. Is it a good thing to
have the extra rest time and kind of get away
from everything for a little bit and then this week
you get back into it. But then it's gonna take
you a little bit of time to get back into
your routine, so it kind of messes it up from
the back end standpoint, like, what's your what's both of
(40:22):
y'all thoughts on this?
Speaker 2 (40:24):
The deal? Is this the unusual thing that happened with
the kid passing away? That's what throws the wrinkle in it.
Let's let's just try to forget about that for a moment.
What I've been on both ends of the spectrum I
don't care spectrum where I don't do nothing to improve myself,
(40:45):
and I've been on the other end where this means something.
I gotta go to work. You gotta work. That's do
you have the majority of your players over there? This
means something. This is what I need to improve, This
is what I need to do. You have that guy like,
oh man, man, I'm out of town. I'm gone, I'm finish,
(41:05):
set up stuff for the off season. So it may
be different for Jezz, But that I played both sides
of that fence.
Speaker 7 (41:13):
I think, and I'm not this is not like what
happened last week. I think has a profound effect on
how things are being done currently because today's point, there
probably were some players like what do I have to
do to get better? But I'm in the middle of grieving.
I don't want to do anything. It's not because I
(41:34):
don't want to get better or no, I need to
do more, but I'm so hurt right now. I don't
even want to go. Don't I don't want to go
do it. You see what I'm saying, This is not
unique to the Cowboys. What I'm about to say next,
it's guys like this on every team. You got guys
on every single team, on every single roster and just
(41:55):
about every sport who don't give a damn, who are
like man, and if things are going great, they all in.
When things ain't going great, they worried about they check
that's coming on Tuesday. So like that, that's not that's
not specifically unique to just the Cowboys. That is professional sports.
That's that's sports in any level.
Speaker 2 (42:16):
It's right.
Speaker 7 (42:17):
And so you have a mixture of those guys. The
time period does you well because when you get to
this point, once you leave training camp, everybody's dealing with something.
Nobody's one hundred percent leaving training camp. Everybody's leaving with something,
some greater than others. And as the year goes on,
(42:38):
each and every week, it's a war of attrition. Like
I always I laugh. There's two things that I always
laugh at. But older people.
Speaker 6 (42:47):
Say it's the best shape of they were in their life.
That's a lie. And then the other thing was as
he got stronger as the game or the season went on,
that's a lie. You don't.
Speaker 7 (42:57):
What happens is you're able to maintain because of your
training and your preparation, You're able to maintain your higher
level of athleticism and skill because the body isn't breaking
down so fast. No one gets stronger as the game
goes on. No one. It's physically impossible. What is possible
(43:18):
is to be able to maintain a certain level of
greatness longer than others, you know what I'm saying. And
so that rest kind of gives you. It rejuvenates you
a little bit, It gives you some fresh legs. It
gives you a chance to heal up a little bit
and maybe go from being seventy percent to eighty five
percent or eighty percent to ninety percent.
Speaker 6 (43:39):
You know what I mean.
Speaker 7 (43:42):
But then you have to be able to compartmentalize and
lock back in.
Speaker 6 (43:47):
Can everybody do that?
Speaker 2 (43:49):
I don't know.
Speaker 7 (43:50):
I do not know everybody's thought process and thinking and
processing and being able to do these different things are different.
Is this what happened a week ago is extremely rare,
extremely rare, And it's now having to even this week,
there's been moments where they've had to do things that
(44:11):
was outside of what there normally.
Speaker 2 (44:13):
Would have done.
Speaker 7 (44:14):
You know, there's there's meetings, there's breakfasts, there's people coming in,
there's intervention, there's all these other things that you are
now doing. That for being honest with you, and this
is not me trying to sound insensitive. That takes your
mind away from the game. It's necessary. Again, this is
a very unique situation. It's necessary. But those waking moments
(44:39):
are waking moments where you're not studying, you're not game planning,
you're not working out, you're not doing all the normal
things that you would normally do in this week because
of the circumstances. Now, what you hope is is that
you can rally in the next couple of days, right today, Tomorrow, Friday, Saturday,
(45:01):
and then maybe a little bit on Sunday to get
ready for Monday night. That gives you a little bit
of it gives you an extra day. But it's very unique.
It's a very unique situation. And I thought about this,
and I know we gotta go, But I thought about
this the other day and I was thinking about Coach
Schottenheimer because as a head coach, you already have just
(45:24):
the job title of.
Speaker 6 (45:28):
Head coach and all of that encombasses.
Speaker 7 (45:33):
Right now I have to go and support and manage
sixty plus dudes and staff because everybody's going through something.
Speaker 6 (45:47):
Because of the recent events.
Speaker 7 (45:49):
Right and now I have to I gotta double down,
check down on that while also still trying to get
my game playing together for my offense, and also while
making sure that I still looking in over.
Speaker 4 (46:01):
At that defense and who ain't right who puts a
very human element into something or systematic?
Speaker 7 (46:08):
And then on top of that, the what thing I
thought about was who who's checking on shy?
Speaker 2 (46:16):
Yeah? Right? Because you have.
Speaker 6 (46:19):
To pour it is.
Speaker 7 (46:21):
To just have to relate to one person can be
exhausting mentally, physically, emotionally. I got sixty, and out of
that sixty, there may be, you know, the D line group,
whatever that number is, it's probably a little bit more
for them because of the closeness of it. And then
(46:42):
it's it's the defense, right, then it's the defensive coaches,
and then it's the it's a lot so who you know,
and the Vegas raders, you know what they're not they're
not gonna do. They ain't gonna show you an ounce
of sympathy. They're not gonna show you an out of sympathy.
You step on that field, they're gonna try to put
(47:03):
your face in the dirt. After the game, they'll pray
and they'll ask you if you okay. But in between
that fifty three and the third and they're looking to
get a win, they're looking to get a home victory.
So it's it's a lot, man.
Speaker 6 (47:18):
I hope that.
Speaker 7 (47:21):
Somehow, some way, And I know life is more important
than the game, but the game is the game, and
this is what they this is your occupation. So you know,
if you're gonna make a run, it starts Monday night.
Speaker 6 (47:36):
You don't want to. You don't want to travel out
to Vegas.
Speaker 7 (47:38):
And maybe that might be good, Maybe that might be
best for them to get away from it.
Speaker 4 (47:43):
But yeah, good stuff. Jesse, thank you, Nate, nice time, Nate, Kurt.
Speaker 2 (47:49):
I'm just holding on to it. I'm gonna keep showing
this time called Jess stole four of them.
Speaker 5 (47:54):
You rubbing it in my face because that was my
favorite one. That's all right, Chris.
Speaker 2 (47:59):

Speaker 3 (47:59):
