Speaker 1 (00:02):
The following is a production of Dallas Cowboys dot Com
and the Dallas Cowboys Football Club.

Speaker 2 (00:08):
Cowboys.

Speaker 1 (00:11):
This is Media Match, a roundtable of Cowboys insiders, trumping
wisdom and offering sizzling takes on the current state of
your Dallas Cowboys.

Speaker 3 (00:21):
Now your host, Newie Scrugs.

Speaker 4 (00:27):
Not Newie Scrugs, but welcome to the media Mash. This
is Nick Harris alongside Tommy RS Dallas Cowboys dot Com,
the Hall of Famer Edward.

Speaker 3 (00:34):
Guys, this is uh.

Speaker 4 (00:35):
This has been a weird couple of days around here,
weird last week. I guess you could say it's our
first media Mash episode since the tragic news of Marshawn
Neeland passing away last Wednesday night and fellas I from
a reporter standpoint, it's it's it's kind of strange. And
I'm sure ed I mean, you've had a ton of
experience in this league, and I'm sure there's a couple

(00:56):
of things you can call back to, but at least
for me, this is my first time. Tommy, I'm sure
this is yours as well, covering something to this magnitude
as far as you know, addressing something that you know
is a bigger issue at the end of the day,
when it comes to when it comes to mental health,
when it comes to checking on those people that are
around you.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
And you know, it's an interesting.

Speaker 4 (01:13):
Spot to be in as a reporter because you have
these human elements of life that you have to go
through each and every day. And you know, I none
of us were necessarily close to marshaw Neland but we
see this guy in the locker room. We interview these guys,
and we see them on the field, and we write
and we talk and we listen to them, and when
one of them loses their life, and that kind of instance,

(01:35):
it kind of throws you out of your profession at times.
At least for me over the course of the last week,
it's kind of taken me out of my profession and
kind of made me ask, you know, the human element
to what we do is how much of it are
we actually you know, looking at from a day to
day basis. Is there something to the human element that
we could have done more for Marshawn Neland you know,
and I'm sure you know, we talked to these guys

(01:57):
in the locker room of the course of the last
hour or so, and those guys are going through unimaginable
bane and emotions right now and have to get back
up and play a game on Monday night. But at
the same time, you know, it's hard to be able
to grasp the heaviness of a loss like marshaw Nelan
in the way that he passed, especially when he was
so young. But she kind of want to open up

(02:18):
the floor here to start to show off with just
kind of your thoughts about the situation, and I guess
more so how our jobs kind of relate to it
on a day to day basis now moving forward.

Speaker 5 (02:27):
I've been doing this since nineteen eighty two and I've
covered all kinds of different scenarios. I'm not sure I've
ever covered this exact one. And as I was listening
to Solomon Thomas speak, I actually got emotional myself. And
I don't really know marsha On Neelan that well, and
to some degree you get the sense that, well they

(02:47):
don't either, right, I mean, because you've got two guys
in Dak Prescott and Solomon Thomas, both of whom spoke
very eloquently today and care deeply about their teammates and
a real leadership presence in the locker room, and yet
somehow nobody saw this coming. I mean, this disease is
mental illness, is so insidious that it's undetectable, even when

(03:09):
people who have experienced it and have foundations designed to
prevent it and to manage it, never see it coming.
I don't know what to expect out of them on
Monday night, Like I think we saw a big shift
from Shadi yesterday to Shady today in public, in the
way he looked, in the way he addressed things. But

(03:31):
I have no idea what to expect. But I do
know that these are unique people, and their ability to
compartmentalize things and compete is extraordinary. The most extreme situation
I've seen in that regard that I would relate to
this was I covered the Kansas City Chiefs Carolina Panthers game,

(03:52):
which was played the day after Jevon Belcher, a linebacker
for the Chiefs, killed his girlfriend and then shot himself
in the head at Arrowhead Stadium outside the facility, in
front of the general manager Scott Pioli, the head coach
Romeo Crenell, and the defensive coordinator Gary Gibbs, and the

(04:14):
Chiefs did not even ask the NFL to postpone the
game they played the next day and they won. Like,
I don't know how you do that. So just one
more way. These guys amaze me. But it's just like
we really don't know these guys as much as we're
around them, as many times as we talk to them,
we really don't know who they are at their essence.

Speaker 6 (04:34):
Yeah, I think you put it really well there, and
it's it's just difficult because it humanizes you so much
because you know, I think a lot of the times,
maybe sometimes we get lost in that these guys are
football players and all we can discuss is there, you know,
how do they play and things like that, And sometimes
folks get a little bit harsh in their criticism for players.

(04:55):
And you know, everybody's got a standard in the NFL
and you have to play up to that standard. If
you don't play up to it, and you get benched
in those kinds of things. But I think sometimes we
do forget the human element of things, or when somebody's
clamoring for for someone to lose their job or things
like that, that they can be difficult. And I'm not
I'm not saying that any of that happened with Marshaw neelan,
But some of the narratives that can come out and

(05:18):
the way that conversations are had from an outside perspective
can be very toxic, and that's unfortunately the world we
live in today. So hopefully this is a moment where
people can realize that and maybe be more selective and
in ways that they criticize or ways that they speak
about things, because you know, Marshaw Kneeland's two years older

(05:39):
than me, and that our generation is so hooked on
social media, and you know, sometimes you feel like you
struggle with what other people think about you and the
outside perspective of you, and you want to make sure
you're seeing in a positive light, and it's difficult to
manage all those things and be in a good spot mentally.

Speaker 7 (05:57):
And so you know ed you were saying.

Speaker 6 (05:59):
That it's kind of undetectable sometimes in terms of if
people are struggling with mental health, then I think the
one of the only ways that you can try to
counteract that is just by being a good person and
everybody that you come across. It's very easy to you know,
I think be kind to those around you, and when
you're with your loved ones, ask how they're doing. And

(06:20):
I think Brian Shanheimer and a lot of guys brought
up good points of just diving deeper than hey, what's
going on?

Speaker 7 (06:25):
How are you? Or Hey, what's up? How you doing?
And no, really how how are you? How are you feeling? Uh?
Is everything okay? Yeah? What are you feeling? What are
you feeling?

Speaker 6 (06:36):
And things like that, and so I think those are
those are good points, and it really does bring everything
into perspective and and it you know, it's it's really
never going to be the same.

Speaker 7 (06:47):
I don't think.

Speaker 4 (06:48):
Yeah, Ed you mentioned a point about you know all
these guys and and osaid to Gizuo and Donovan Azarakhu.
They also talked today about you know, their relationship with Marshawn,
and you never really know anybody, right, It's not just
you know this situation with Marshaan. It kind of makes
you sit back and think about your own personal life
and you know, do I know this person? Do I
know my mother? Do I know my spouse? Do I

(07:09):
know my child? You know, and it makes you have
hard conversations. I had a hard conversation with my girlfriend
last week. I was like, look, this might be weird
or off putting. But if you ever need anybody, you
could talk to me, you know. And I hope that
this situation kind of if there's any good that can
come out of it, I hope that it allows people
to have these conversations more with their loved ones, with

(07:32):
people that are in their life every day.

Speaker 3 (07:33):
Shoot, it could be.

Speaker 4 (07:34):
Co workers, you know, it just being like, hey, if
you need a shoulder, I got two of them. So
I hope that this death is not in vain because
of that situation, because of the conversations that it can
allow moving forward, and if it saves even one life
moving forward, then then Marshan's death.

Speaker 3 (07:49):
Is certainly not in vain. I think you might be
on mute ed.

Speaker 7 (07:52):
I don't do it.

Speaker 3 (07:54):
Can you hear him?

Speaker 5 (07:55):
Be?

Speaker 4 (07:55):
He's not coming through from me. We got Beam on
the task, we got Beam on the tax.

Speaker 5 (08:05):
Did you sure me before? The challenge? The unique challenge
here with this is like the ethos that exists in
pro football and in pro sports, and especially in male
pro sports. Right you're not allowed to show pain vulnerability.
I mean, we've just gotten to the point in the
NFL where guys admit that they might have concussion symptoms.

(08:29):
And should be checked and maybe pulled from a game
and possibly withheld the next week, like used to just
play through it, right, So that's progress and maybe this
kind of thing will lead to progress too, because like,
who could have who could have seen this coming? I
mean this, this is a young player who was totally engaged,
was having success. First game of the year, gets his

(08:50):
first sack, scores a touchdown the other night. Most guys
play their whole careers on defense and never score a touchdown.
He scores a touch He's going to have a child, Like,
you know, just how could how could this happen? And
nobody see it coming?

Speaker 4 (09:03):
Yeah, the child part, it's it's tough to think about
that part that that's what gets me most emotional is
that he has someone on the way that is going
to carry on his bloodline. But credit to all the
Cowboys staff, organization players. They are all rallying around his girlfriend,
Catalina and his family up in Grand Rappin's, Michigan.

Speaker 5 (09:22):
And the public can participate in that.

Speaker 4 (09:24):
The public can participate in that by donating to the
Marshawn Neland Memorial Fund and you know, making sure that
his family is set for life as as Brian Schottenheimer
put it yesterday, But yeah, it's it's there. We we
cover a a dumb little game, and it makes you
kind of think about it sometimes when when situations like
this happen, and you know, this, this dumb little game.

Speaker 3 (09:46):
It can be an escape for a lot of people.

Speaker 4 (09:47):
But don't let it escape to the point to where
you know you're not checking in on the things in
life that you know you really do need to check
in on. Whether that's people watching his fans, us covering
it here every day, or whatever it may be. Just
make sure that you know there are people around you
that you make sure you want to have around you.

Speaker 3 (10:03):
For the rest of your life. So be sure to
check out on those people.

Speaker 4 (10:05):
Speaking of this dumb little game, we're gonna go to
break and we're gonna talk about football coming back out
of it.

Speaker 3 (10:09):
Hows that sound felas you listen to the media.

Speaker 2 (10:11):

Speaker 4 (12:13):
To media match, Welcome back to the media Mesh, Tommy
rsh Edwarder. I'm Nick Harris. This team somehow has to
gather all of their emotions together and get ready to
play a game on Monday Night against the Las Vegas
Raiders on ESPN. It's gonna be a fun one, and man,
there are so many storylines in this game. Not only
have the Cowboys added two editions in Quinn Williams and

(12:35):
Logan Wilson since the last time we talked on this podcast.
But Marvin Overshowon is going to be making his season
debut expected Savone Revel, the third round rookie corner out
of East Carolina, expected to make his NFL debut in
this game. Brian Schottenheimer is going up against his former
mentor and Pete Carroll. So many things that are fun
about this game. Obviously at the front of the mind

(12:57):
is the Marshawn Neeland situation, but you know, talking about
the game specifically with Quinn Williams and Logan Wilson, the
Logan Wilson trade did not surprise me last week. The
Quinn Williams one did, especially when you factor in how
much that they gave up to go get him. They
spent a first round pick, the higher of their first
round picks in twenty twenty seven, a second round pick
in twenty six, and then Mazzie Smith got thrown in

(13:20):
there too. I think with Logan Wilson, the trade got
even better when they added Quinn Williams, But just overall
fell as your feelings on this trade and how much
that you think that they can impact this defense.

Speaker 5 (13:32):
I think they're gonna have a significant impact on the defense.
We could be looking at five or six new starters
or returning starters when you consider Malie Hooker Donovan Wilson
who have been out coming back to play safety. I mean,
all of a sudden, this defense looks a little different
up the middle right, And that to me is the
most shocking part of the Quinn Williams trade. Like, the
Cowboys have been fascinated by him for a while, They've

(13:53):
been had interest in him for a long time, even
beyond Jerry calling up when he decided he was going
to entertain Marsha or trades for Michael Parsons, and he
called the Jets and asked about Quentin and Williams. But
I just can't believe how much most teams in the
NFL value peripheral players and edge players and the speed positions,

(14:14):
and what the Cowboys have invested in the interior offensive
line and the interior defensive line. I mean, their biggest
offseason signing was Osa o'digie Zua, their starting defensive tackle.
They get one player back in the Michael Parsons straight
and it's Kenny Clark defensive tackle, and they go out
and make a big trade and it's Quentin and Williams

(14:34):
another defensive tackle. They have three defensive tackles, the only
team in football with three defensive tackles making twenty million
dollars a year. So if they can't stop the run,
now I think it's safe to say, Jerry give up
on stopping the run.

Speaker 4 (14:46):
Yeah, it might go bigger than the team itself. There's
something spiritual there.

Speaker 7 (14:51):
You'd get a hacks or something.

Speaker 6 (14:54):
No, But you know I've said a lot on these
shows is that football is a line of scrimmage game
where it's won and lost, And so I see why
they're making the investment there. Can you keep guys, three
guys that are twenty million plus on the interior defensive line.
That's a conversation probably for later. I think if they
play well, you would certainly want to right and naturally,

(15:16):
if if that is what the solution is to stopping
the run, then you could probably expect that's what it's
going to happen. But I think with Quinn Williams especially,
he makes Logan Wilson's job so much easier because he
takes up so much attention on the interior of those
offensive lines, you can draw double teams. He has the
most pressures against double team since twenty twenty two in
the NFL, And that makes it easier for OsO Diggi

(15:39):
Zua and Kenny Clark and Donovanzaaku and Jadevian Clowney and
Logan Wilson the linebackers to either be one on one
or kind of have the gaps opened up right in
front of them, because it's going to be a lot
easier to fill if he's taking up two spots. What
I'm interested to see we've talked so much about five
down fronts and things like that.

Speaker 7 (15:58):
Okay, how much are we actually going to see it?

Speaker 6 (16:00):
Because you don't want to make a mid season entire
defensive schematic change. But on first and second down? Is
that something we see a lot more of going through
the rest of the year because you've got those guys
and try to limit it and make it second, long,
third and long, so then you can you know, maybe
pin your ears back and maybe cover somebody yea, or

(16:22):
drop eight and hope that somebody is in the right spot.
Play played double, play double quarters and see if you
can make that word.

Speaker 7 (16:31):
What would double quarters eight cover?

Speaker 3 (16:34):
Yeah?

Speaker 4 (16:34):
I think with this Quinn Williams edition, I'm taking some
stats from your Twitter here, Tommy. Twenty four run stops
in the NFL this year. That is tied for first
among defensive tackles. Fourteen run stuffs, which basically qualifies as
getting in the way of the gap, Tied for first
in the NFL. He's done that with a forty one
double team rate. And that is kind of what I
want to dive into here, is that nobody in the

(16:55):
NFL has been double teamed as much as Quinn Williams
has in the defensive interior since twenty TI twenty two.

Speaker 3 (17:00):
Second on that list is also the Jizula.

Speaker 4 (17:02):
And when you have two guys that command that much
attention in your defensive interior, it's only going to open
up things for these edges. Now these edges, it's Donovan Azeraku,
Jadavian Clowney, Dante Fowler. This is their chance to really
pounce at the quarterback, not only as are their jobs
on a spotlight over the course of the next eight weeks.
Let's about Donovan Azeraku because he's really shined here in
the last few weeks.

Speaker 3 (17:24):
So is Matty Reflus.

Speaker 4 (17:25):
He has his pieces now he has the Quentyn Williams
Nice has the local nice.

Speaker 5 (17:29):
Eight weeks into the season, right here you go, here's
your defense.

Speaker 4 (17:32):
Exactly, and there's there was a lot of That's a
good pointed because there was a lot of I think
leeway you could give you refluse because you plan to
have Michael Parsons on your damn defense and then you
don't have Michael Parsons and you find out five days
before the season starts or whatever it is. You do
have to give him grace in that situation. However, now
that he's had these nine games to figure out what

(17:53):
he does have in the tank, and he adds these
two valuable pieces to the defense that they do have,
and they're getting to Marvin overshrown back, you expect something
out of Revel. If they are still in the bottom
ten of the NFL the rest of the way, you
can't justify keeping them.

Speaker 5 (18:06):
The problem is is like they've already wasted the easy
part of their schedule.

Speaker 3 (18:10):
They have and that is the tough part.

Speaker 5 (18:12):
Like and look where they are, they're three five and one.
When they finally have personnel that they want on defense,
whether the returning from injury or they've acquired them from
other teams. Like remember Mike McCarthy complaining about not having
everybody together in April for the start of the off
season program. We're in November and they still are putting
things together. I guess to somewhat their credit, right that

(18:33):
they did. We're still aggressive and WOU got good players
who are going to be here beyond this year, Like
it would have been foolish to just invest in this year.
They're beyond that point. But they are going to face
increasingly difficult competition. I mean, some of the best offensive
teams in football are on their schedule in the after
this game, the next three opponents.

Speaker 4 (18:51):
Right, They're not late for twenty twenty five, they're early
for twenty twenty.

Speaker 5 (18:55):
But I thought it was interesting we're talking about fits
and you, I guess you kind of suggested that if
they don't play better on defense, they might have to
make another coordinator change the fourth and four years. But
I thought it was interesting that Jerry, the one thing
he acknowledged after the Arizona loss that he took responsibility
for was underestimating the importance of continuity on the defensive

(19:17):
side of the ball with the coaching staff. That he
should have known better than to expect, you know, having
three coordinators in three years creating success for a defense.
So I'd be surprised if he made a change, especially
since he's the one who really hired Eberflus to begin with.

Speaker 4 (19:32):
That is only the only justification point though, Like, let's
say that they finished as the thirtieth ranked defense.

Speaker 3 (19:38):
Right now they're thirty one. Let's say that they finished thirtieth.
What's the justification other than we can't do four coordinators
in four years. That's going to be too much. I
don't know if there's any other justifications.

Speaker 5 (19:46):
But wasn't it weird that even today, when Shody was
asked to assess ravel, the first thing he says, great,
press corner. Why are you drafting a press corner when
your coordinator doesn't play that?

Speaker 3 (19:56):
I did think about that. I didn't think about that.

Speaker 6 (19:58):
It's a good point, and I wonder how much of
it is a one side asking the other to adapt,
not that that is the solution by any means, because
I don't think you can go to media reflace. We
were talking about five man fronts to be like, all right,
I know you've been a four to three guy for
forty years time to switch it up to a three
to four poual let's go, And that's just unfair. But
at the same time, you've got Trayvon Diggs Deron playing

(20:21):
Simone Revel who are man corners and they've been that
for most of their careers, and sir, you have to
play zone at some point at the cornerback position without
a shadow of a doubt. But when we started the
year and it was what was the Philly game, is
like all but one snap was in zone and it's
like what.

Speaker 5 (20:37):
They're playing ninety percent zone into the last two or
three games.

Speaker 6 (20:39):
That's just I don't think that's sustainable. And so then.

Speaker 5 (20:43):
Why did you hire that coordinator who coaches that scheme?
And he was here for seven years, so you should
have had some sense that that's what he wants to do.

Speaker 7 (20:51):
That is a great question, as unfortunately I can't answer it.

Speaker 4 (20:54):
But do you think it's more benevolence or stubbornness. Do
you think it's benevolence in the sense of like they
they didn't put that two and two together, or stubbornness
and being like, Eh, this is our guy, this is
gonna work.

Speaker 5 (21:03):
Yeah, this is our guy. And we'll fit our person
Our personnel is adaptable enough to play that style of
defense should we choose to do that, And we can
probably talk him into playing some more man. I mean,
our two corners have been pretty prolific playing man coverage
and taking the ball away and scoring with it and
all of those things. Surely he can incorporate some of
that into what he does. Why would he not want that.
We're gonna take our final break when we come back.

(21:24):
Dak Prescott is knocking on the door of a very
very Oh I thought you mentioned milestone.

Speaker 4 (21:29):
I mean, we got a next come on back. He's
knocking on the door of a very impressive milestone. But
he's gonna need the offense to figure out what has
not gone right over the course of the last two weeks.

Ed Werder. I am Nick Harris Ed. You got a
favorite Vegas spot?

Speaker 5 (24:26):
A favorite Vegas spot?

Speaker 4 (24:27):
Yeah, like a dinner spot or anything like. You go
to Vegas. I have to go there.

Speaker 7 (24:31):
The MGM not really.

Speaker 5 (24:33):
Emmett has a place there.

Speaker 3 (24:35):
He does, he does.

Speaker 5 (24:35):
That's a new place.

Speaker 3 (24:36):
I think it's there.

Speaker 5 (24:38):
I was just there in February to see the Eagles
at the Sphere and.

Speaker 3 (24:42):
Yeah, I think it's I think it has since.

Speaker 5 (24:44):
Yeah, I'll just take a Capital grill if youre in
the world, so I've.

Speaker 3 (24:46):
Done the Capitol grill. You a big Vegas guys.

Speaker 5 (24:49):
I've never been my first time, so well, you can't
make sure you hit six gus.

Speaker 7 (24:53):
I can't do anything.

Speaker 6 (24:54):
So I'm just gonna right find to find the nearest
good restaurant. And Gordon Ramsey's down there, right, I think
that's pretty good. Yeah, yeah, I would imagine, I.

Speaker 3 (25:03):
Would imagine so the show. The show makes it seem
like does.

Speaker 6 (25:05):
He like yell at you when you get your food?
It's like Dick's AI holograph of like that comes up.

Speaker 4 (25:10):
To Dak Prescott is four hundred and forty seven yards
away from becoming the Cowboys all time leading passer.

Speaker 3 (25:18):
It's it's kind of crazy.

Speaker 4 (25:19):
Of all the storylines that we have gone through this year,
this one's kind of sneaking up on us. And the
way he's been on pace, it looks like he could
break it against the Eagles here in a couple of weeks.
But when you look at the first team offense over
the course of the last two games against the Broncos
and against the Cardinals, the first team offense is averaged
thirteen and a half points per game in those two games.
Considering how they played up until that point, that is
very uncharacteristic of where this Schottenheimer offense was heading. Asked

(25:43):
Brian Schottenheimer today about the bye week changes and you
know how you can go about instilling them going forward,
and he said that they were able to watch the
film and the film was very valuable as far as
what they're doing right and what they were continuing to
do that they are just not doing well and so
they're going to take it out of the playbook and
things of that sort.

Speaker 3 (26:00):
And this offense.

Speaker 4 (26:02):
What did you see in those last two weeks that
really started to hurt things was that the way these
games just kind of went. That's the thing I kind
of point to. These games kind of got out of control.
But also, if you have a number one offense, your
offense should be able to get you back in games.
That can't be the only excuse.

Speaker 5 (26:16):
Especially at home like in Denver, they're playing one of
the best defenses in all of football the last two years.
The thing that really stuck out to me, and I
think this is alarming. I just saw this ESPN research
stat says Dak Prescott has been hit while running or
throwing twenty nine times in the last two games. That's
tied for the most plays he's been contacted in a

(26:36):
two game span in his NFL career. That's over ten years. Wow,
He's never He's only been hit like this one other
time over a two week span in his entire career.
He's been hit on thirty one percent of his dropbacks
from weeks eight and nine third highest rate in the NFL,
behind Justin Herbert and Patrick Mahomes.

Speaker 3 (26:55):
I will add to that.

Speaker 4 (26:56):
Coming out of the press conference today, Brian Scheinheimer was
asked is there an open competition at right tackle?

Speaker 3 (27:02):
He said, yes, so I think he's fascinating.

Speaker 5 (27:05):
Well, what does that mean for Monday Night?

Speaker 3 (27:07):
It does like if you're going to change change Yeah.

Speaker 5 (27:09):
Yeah, like if you're gonna sit there and you're gonna
eliminate plays that don't work and you're gonna emphasize plays
that do work, which is smart. If there's a guy
who in the first half of the season isn't playing well,
isn't it time?

Speaker 3 (27:21):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (27:22):
And the thing about having an open competition at right tackle, though,
is you worked in Nate Thomas against the Cardinals and
he had five pressures and I think twenty four snaps
or whatever it was. He was bad too, So I
don't know how you can have a competition between a
veteran who has not been playing at his highest point
over the course of the last couple of years, no doubt,
but our young guy who has not really shown anything either.

Speaker 5 (27:43):
I guess you're projecting what the guy who doesn't have
a lot of experience can be with games under his.

Speaker 6 (27:48):
Belt, right, And at this point you're asking yourself the
question if that's the case, if we're projecting, do we
just project that he can be good enough and run
him out there and see how he does. Is if
you're flip flopping back and forth, then like Ed was
talking about that, it doesn't make sense. It doesn't really
help you much. So you know, I think this this
week of practice is going to be interesting to see.

(28:10):
I mean, we won't see it obviously, but it's going
to be pretty telling for this coaching staff. Terrence Steel
has been a good run blocker for a majority of
his career, but he's really struggling in pass protection, and
you got Max Crosby coming up, and really for either
one of those guys, like nobody really matches up very
well against Max Crosby unless you're one of the best
in the league. And even still, you're just even at

(28:30):
that point, and if you've got problems at right tackle,
that's going to get exposed and the Raiders defense is
going to attack that right side no matter what. So
I think you kind of have to be definitive and
decisive in terms of what you want to do there
going forward.

Speaker 4 (28:45):
I don't think Terrence Steel's been the biggest problem on
the offensive line all year.

Speaker 3 (28:48):
It's been Geiden.

Speaker 5 (28:49):
I have a little of Guiden to right tackle.

Speaker 4 (28:51):
Maybe maybe, I mean that is where he played in college,
and maybe you have a little bit more comfortability with
Nathan Thomas at left tackle. But do you do that
in the middle of a season after you've been training
Tyler Guyton literally since he came in the door to
be the left tack.

Speaker 5 (29:02):
You're three to five and one. Your quarterback's getting hit
at an alarming rate. You better do something.

Speaker 3 (29:06):
He could be hit more.

Speaker 5 (29:07):
I guess it only takes one worse. Don't even have
to get hit when you're thirty two, as we saw
last year.

Speaker 4 (29:13):
Yeah, yeah, it's tough. We're making this a short show.
A quick prediction tonight Patriots Jets. I'm not going to
ask you who's gonna win the game. I think we
all have a similar feelings about the winner of that game.
But does Manzi Smith get his first tackle as a
member of the Jets?

Speaker 5 (29:27):
First tackle?

Speaker 3 (29:27):
First tackle? He didn't get one left.

Speaker 5 (29:28):
I'll give him a tackle give back, I'll get I'm
not sure about a sack tackle.

Speaker 4 (29:32):
Are we giving him a sack. No, I'll give him
a sack. Smith gets his first sack to I.

Speaker 5 (29:36):
Drake may does get sacked a lot. I'm the second
highest in the league.

Speaker 3 (29:39):
It's gonna be a strip sack on Drake maybe.

Speaker 5 (29:40):
Oh, is he gonna pick it up in the score.

Speaker 4 (29:43):
No, I'm not going that far, but we've already got
far off. Appreciate you guys for hopping in Cowboys Raiders
Monday night. We'll be back on Media Mash next week
with our typical line of guests here and host knew
He Struggs will be back in this chair so he
can take over from my horrendous performance.

Speaker 5 (30:00):
I'd like to say that I have a new level
of respect, but I actually have respect.

Speaker 4 (30:04):
Thank you, Thank you, Chris Beeban, new levels a week away.
Edward or Toby are some Dick Harris. We'll see 'all
next time. See 'all next week here on the Media Mash.

Ruthie's Table 4

Ruthie's Table 4

For more than 30 years The River Cafe in London, has been the home-from-home of artists, architects, designers, actors, collectors, writers, activists, and politicians. Michael Caine, Glenn Close, JJ Abrams, Steve McQueen, Victoria and David Beckham, and Lily Allen, are just some of the people who love to call The River Cafe home. On River Cafe Table 4, Rogers sits down with her customers—who have become friends—to talk about food memories. Table 4 explores how food impacts every aspect of our lives. “Foods is politics, food is cultural, food is how you express love, food is about your heritage, it defines who you and who you want to be,” says Rogers. Each week, Rogers invites her guest to reminisce about family suppers and first dates, what they cook, how they eat when performing, the restaurants they choose, and what food they seek when they need comfort. And to punctuate each episode of Table 4, guests such as Ralph Fiennes, Emily Blunt, and Alfonso Cuarón, read their favourite recipe from one of the best-selling River Cafe cookbooks. Table 4 itself, is situated near The River Cafe’s open kitchen, close to the bright pink wood-fired oven and next to the glossy yellow pass, where Ruthie oversees the restaurant. You are invited to take a seat at this intimate table and join the conversation.
