Speaker 3 (00:53):
Man.
Speaker 2 (00:53):
The Cowboys are gearing up to take on the Vegas
Raiders on Monday Night football. I want to ask the
question because I'll tell you Washington like Monday night football games,
Sunday night football games, Thursday night football games, the prime
time games.
Speaker 3 (01:12):
Right.
Speaker 2 (01:12):
I always say, you know your mama and them watching
your mom and them watching them games. I hated night games.
I absolutely hated night games because it's not like you
going somewhere you ain't. You ain't going like you ain't.
You gotta wait all like like the theme song says,
been waiting all day for Sunday night or Monday night.
(01:34):
I'm waiting all day long, all the other games is happening.
You anxious to go out there and play. You like,
I want to go to sleep, I want to wake up, eat,
I want to go play. So, so did you enjoy
or did you like? Did you prefer regular like noon games,
three o'clock games, Monday night games, Sunday night games. Did
(01:56):
you guys prefer that?
Speaker 3 (01:57):
To me?
Speaker 4 (01:58):
I hate it with a passion, Monday night games, Sunday night,
and Thursday night. But Monday night to me was the
worst because you know, after that game is done, it's
like eleven something that night, and it's a Monday, so
you just got that Tuesday, you know what I mean,
where you all and you're right back at it on Wednesday.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
You know, Sunday night.
Speaker 4 (02:15):
At least you got that Monday Tuesday off and you
get a little break.
Speaker 2 (02:19):
But Monday I was just terrible to me.
Speaker 4 (02:21):
And I'm with you on that as far as waking
up and getting going, Like, I hate just that down
period where you just sitting there clicking through the channels.
Speaker 2 (02:29):
My boys and already played. I'm congratulating.
Speaker 4 (02:31):
I'm like, man, this up tonight, and I'm like, man,
I'm still waiting to get on the field, Like I
hated that about I rather like you said, get out there,
knock it out, and go about your day.
Speaker 5 (02:41):
But yeah, them Sunday night or the Monday nights many,
they were brutal.
Speaker 3 (02:44):
They were brutal. Man. For me, it changed like when
we first started. You know, you get in there, you
focused on everything. It's like, man, I'm gonna do my job,
like everybody's gonna be watching me, like bright lights. This
is where the start is, pressure bus pipe to McDonald's.
I'm here for prime time. But then once you become
a vet, you know, your family started coming to the game,
(03:05):
You get your nu once you get into your routine afterwards,
like you said, sitting there waiting and it's like, man,
what am I gonna do with all this time? Like
the game is literally over with it. I can't get
no food, can't hang out with my family and enjoy
the day. So like if you did have a good game,
you gotta wait till the next day to get your
congratulations and truly in that environment. So for me, I
love the late games. I just didn't like the late
(03:27):
games on Monday Sunday. Give it to you because I'm
sitting there like yo were there. That was crazy and
he did that. But the next day, like I said,
the short week, that rehab. When you get later in
your career, like you said that Monday, you come in there,
it's like, hey, we watch film, but we can hit
the ice tubs. You can get out of the acupuncture. Tuesday,
(03:47):
all day to yourself to heal up. And then Wednesday
back to a work week. Monday, you gotta fit two
days worth of recovery and one day. And that's the
biggest thing that made me mad. So I nothing, but yeah,
I love How was that like the first few years
(04:09):
I was in New York, then we went to Miami.
Then you know, we was in these big markets. But
when you thought about teams like Jacksonville or Tennessee Tights,
it was like, oh man, they got the early game.
By the end of the day they get like you said,
you can get text message.
Speaker 4 (04:23):
We was done good. We was done by like three
We wear done byt like three thirty. Shake back washed
the afternoon game. Are you cooking something?
Speaker 3 (04:34):
Washed? The night game? Man?
Speaker 2 (04:36):
I love that Jacksonville had them twelve o'clocks, but signed
me up for a noon game any day of all day.
Let me get up, get breakfast and get right to
the stadium.
Speaker 3 (04:47):
Did that? Let me ask you this, did that change
when you were in college in the NFL? Or was it? Like?
Speaker 2 (04:54):
Was it when I got to the NFL?
Speaker 3 (04:56):
So you always the NFL was twelve.
Speaker 2 (04:59):
But see in college, it's Saturday night. So when I
get done Saturday night, Oh I'm not I'm I'm outside.
I wasn't outside. No, no, no, no, I wasn't outside.
Speaker 3 (05:14):
I was.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
I was always a dude that been like and your
way back to the crip. I'm going back to the crib.
That's why they didn't like me. I'm going back to
the crib. Listen, whis one? What's what.
Speaker 3 (05:32):
You know? So?
Speaker 2 (05:32):
Like, yeah, college, you had Saturday night. Then they always
gave you Sunday night. I mean Sunday, you come in,
you know, whatever, you do, You flush your you flush
your body, you do your little bit of running and
whatever kind of stuff like that, and then you get
back to the schedule on Monday, school and stuff like that.
So that yeah, But when I got to the league
and you understood how like the schedule, how how precise
it was, and you need those recovery days, You're like bodies,
(05:56):
I'm like every day I had something different. And that's
what That's one of the things I always try to
tell young players when it comes to you. Hear you
hear the term of the quote, learn how to be
a professional. That just ain't playing football professional, that's learning.
What does your schedule look like? What days are you
watching like you know this down the film? What days
you have your acupuncture, your massages. I was always a medicure,
(06:18):
pedicure kind of guy. What how all of your stuff
working to that schedule? Get the proper rest, you know
what I'm saying, Like, you know, Thursday nights usually we
have our receiver night. You know what I'm saying. We
meet up somewhere, we watch film, we go get dinner,
and then we might you know what I'm saying, we
might know, I say, you know what I'm saying, Get
back to the crib. You got fast Friday, Fast Friday.
Speaker 3 (06:39):
Friday.
Speaker 2 (06:39):
You got fast Friday, and this Saturday you either traveling
after that little walk through or you back to the crib,
you know what I'm saying. And so like that routine.
Once you get into that, that's that's where it's really solid,
you know what I'm saying. And then but there's a
unique Another unique part to the Cowboys in their schedule
is the Cowboys have this coming up Monday night, starts
(07:01):
this three games in twelve days, So you go Monday night, Sunday, Thursday.
Speaker 3 (07:11):
That is the worst that got the trifected. Like we
talk about how critical those those days are, man and shoot,
I can only imagine that you mentioned off are you
was hanging around some of the OJ's and we all
know that the OG's of the team, they typically their
their schedule is far and vast in between. Not only
(07:32):
are they doing recovery, they got the whole other component
of it, the community aspect. If you're a guy in
the community and making that move. And so in that
twelve day span, you got a short rehab community, dealing
with family and preparing. That's one day shorter of preparing
for the next opponent coming up. Like because the skyting
(07:54):
report's already done, so those twelve days, that's gonna be brutal.
What he said, it's almost a pump fake. You get
the buy week before here.
Speaker 4 (08:00):
Yeah, I just hated it because it's like like you said,
when those Sunday to thursdays, you ain't got no your
body don't even really feel half of what it should
until Wednesdays and it's like, man, you're doing all this rehab, flush,
you got the boots on your legs, hot cold to
whatever your you know your flavor is, and then next
thing you know, it's game day and not only recovering
(08:22):
your body, but you gotta, you know, get the game
plan is in here, how we're gonna how we're gonna
shut down this offense and let you not go against
you know, a high powered offense or a great defense,
Like I got to lock in. And for me, you know,
I watched the tape, but I was more than I
got to see it on the field, Like I gotta
get those live reps.
Speaker 2 (08:38):
And you know that short.
Speaker 4 (08:39):
Period, you it's mostly walked throughs like you might have
a job through day. But for me, I got to
get those live reps. So I always struggled on those
Thursday I was guessing, like a mug, I hope they
run this player, don't it's over with.
Speaker 3 (08:53):
Imagine being a backup and having a short week like that.
A backup. It's a difference. When you're a backup, you're
not expecting to play, but the backup to get a
lot of the reps and that short week, like you said,
it's mostly walked through and what do they say, Oh,
first team go in there, second team. You might have
one or two reps, but it's like mental, the mental
focus and fortitude that you have to do for a
guy like me that got ADHD and like most of
(09:15):
the other people in the NFL, you'd be like what
do I do? It was like, so, man, I can
only imagine like this, that's a crazy fact you brought up.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
Yeah, no, it's just that like that. I always like
look at that because I mean you mentioned a point.
It was like not just a football part of it.
Like if you're if you play for the Dallas Cows
and you played for a couple of years, Thanksgiving happens
at your yeah, every time every year, So now that
means whatever little if you had your little family already there,
(09:45):
Mom's is coming in, Dad's coming in, brothers coming in,
sister's coming in. Like folk, Now, I gotta deal with
tickets right now. Ticket situation come about now? Everybody like
who are all coming? You know what I'm saying? And
then you start saying, listen, only half of y'all. I
can go to rust that I got to stay at
the house.
Speaker 3 (10:02):
Yet not because that's right there.
Speaker 2 (10:04):
Now, let me tell you, let me tell you why, people,
because here's how this thing breaks down, right, And I'll
give you from my perspective. And I got a chance
to share the field in the locker room with Barry
Church and we were here at the same time. There's
a hierarchy. I don't care whether you whether you want
to know it or not. There's a hierarchy. And so
when they start looking at how many tickets were giving
out the players, now we get two. We get two, right,
(10:31):
and for those of you that don't know, we pay
for everything else. But again there is a family section
that they kind of a lot for us. Now, when
Tony Romo go, well I need fifteen, you get everything. Okay, Tony,
you get fifteen. When Jason Witten go I need ten,
(10:53):
Jason Whitton gets ten. When DeMarcus Ware says I need ten, two,
he get that. You start, you start, you start going
down that list a little bit. When Brady James say
I need he gonna get that. When it come to
little old j Holly, like, hey you got cable, check
(11:17):
us out? He does anybody have a problem standing because
that's what we're gonna put them at, like that's a
real thing. When you start looking at like that, so
you start doing all that holidays, you know, playing this stuff.
Luckily I don't have many people out my mom or brothers,
but you know, I'm like, hey, I need to get three.
(11:38):
You know what I'm saying. And this is also another
reason why treat everybody but respecting the building, because those
folks who had no tickets will be like them when
I asked you to do something before you sucked your TV.
You ain't saying all right, cool, No, we ain't got nothing.
We ain't got nothing. But it's nice to some folks
that go, y'all can find you two more, and they
(11:58):
will and they will know what I'm saying. You have
something from Young Catch every time. Y'all don't know Brian Wansley.
I tell the Young Catch all the time, Brian Wanseley
is your best friend? Still speak to him to this day,
Wiley still like this. Still I say, listen, make him
your best friend. Got to I said, was a good
bad ugly You need, you gonna need Brian Wansley, and
(12:21):
you you wouldn't like to have him on your good side.
Speaker 3 (12:23):
Man.
Speaker 4 (12:24):
So two cats in my mind that you had to
make your best friends and you just had to make
sure they was on your sadeur you was on their side.
Speaker 2 (12:32):
One was Brown Wise for all the you know, the ticket.
Speaker 4 (12:37):
You in trouble, he'd have got ever you got be
I need he gonna hold. And then for all the
young players out there, and you heard me say this
before special teams coordinator, you gotta make him your best friend.
You gotta be doing whatever you can. And for us
it was Joe Deacon Millis. And to this day I
talked to Joe d I wouldn't have made disc onuad
because he told me me and Brent Maxie stood on
(12:58):
the table for you, they're getting ready to cut you.
Speaker 3 (13:00):
You talk about man.
Speaker 2 (13:00):
I appreciate that.
Speaker 4 (13:01):
And then he was also a big time part of
bringing me down to Jacksonville. So I'm telling you, man,
you never don't burn any bridges. Don't burn any bridges.
You never know who you might need.
Speaker 3 (13:10):
Man, never know. And for me it goes to stuff further.
I've been around great guys to Richard Sherman, but for me,
especially later in my career, probably around year five, I
started doing donut days. On the off days that you
came in there to do all your treatment and therapy,
they were like, always take care of the equipment guys,
because guess what he's going to ask the equipment guys
when your family come down here for a Christmas present
(13:32):
if I ain't trying to give up some money with it.
That's true for the giants, cowboys. Let me get an
extra hat all of a sudden, that's the best thing
in the world. The video guys, will you want to
get your highlight tape? When you now that I'm retired
and you know I want to post something up on Instagram,
I can hit them guys up. Hey man, how y'all doing?
Man d More, you still one of my favorite he
can you find this sack play of me? You know
(13:52):
it ain't too many of there, and they give you
like and you you really don't know who you know
because those guys that were working in the equipment room
video guys, especially scouts. It's crazy how many scouts are
now gms that I know are people in the front office.
So it goes a long way of just being nice.
Speaker 2 (14:10):
So yeah, position coach one day, coordinated the next. But hey,
you never had coach. He's backup cue.
Speaker 3 (14:18):
And you know how many jokes people say, Well, you
might have made fun of it. Now, guess what you
that old guy trying to extend your career.
Speaker 2 (14:26):
Trying to get a job, trying to get it.
Speaker 3 (14:30):
You better take that old horse.
Speaker 2 (14:32):

Speaker 2 (17:57):
I brought to you by Aristocrat Gaming, Demon Tree, More,
Barrier Church, Jesse, Holly as the Cowboys get ready and
prepared to take on the Vegas Raiders in Vegas Monday
Night football. Again, we've talked about it at nauseum, a
very very taxing week with the unforeseen circumstances that happened
(18:19):
with the passing of Marshaw Neeland. But the Boys are
back on the practice field. They they this is their
moment to uh to get away from the emotions of it.
As as Brian Schottenheimer says, we never move on.
Speaker 3 (18:35):
We just do.
Speaker 2 (18:36):
We move forward, and moving forward is getting to the
game on Monday Night football. And you know, when you
look at this Raiders team, first thing you say, you
go look at the record that too and seven, right,
And in the words of the great philosopher, the Big Tuna,
Big Tuna, he says, you are what your record says you.
So you look at this team and you go two
(18:57):
and seven. But also you look at the Cowboys and
every team that you've come against this year. You've been
a little bit of wal Greens, especially the Cowboys. Defensively,
you've been a little bit of a wal Greens. You've
been a little bit of a right, You've been a
little bit of a CVS. You you teams have looked
at you as the get right game. They've had it
(19:19):
your way, they anyway however you want it. You see
what I'm.
Speaker 4 (19:26):
Saying, scattered, scatter, smothered, and cover, you know, shut out
at the waffle house.
Speaker 2 (19:34):
You know what I'm saying. And and and at what
point in time, Because you two dudes are defensive players,
at what point in time do you look at this
and you go enough is a freaking enough. There's a
level of pride that has to come into this. There's
a level of just y'all are not going to We're
(19:54):
not We're not the get right game. I watched Ashton
gent and his interview and he was smirking as he
was talking about where he thought they got some they
can get some ways against the Cowboys defense. So from
a defensive defensive perspective, you look at this and saying, man,
I know we dropped one Arizona and we probably shouldn't have.
I know that we dropped one of Chicago, we probably
(20:15):
shouldn't have. An I know that we dropped one in
Carolina and we probably shouldn't have after Rico already told
us to buckle up. At what what point in time?
Speaker 5 (20:26):
Barry church. Do you just say enough is enough? See
for me, enough is enough?
Speaker 4 (20:31):
Would have been in Carolina when my man, you know
it w wasn't like he said it after the game.
The man said it, you know, the week before the
game even started. He just got finished playing a game
when he said it got done. Talk about buckle up
like that. To me, I would have took that personal
like I'd have been like, coach, I don't want nothing
to do with the deep middle. Leave me right, leave
me in that box, and we're gonna get busy. And
(20:52):
I thought for sure that would be the game where
the Cowboys would come out and say, you know you
told us to bucket up. We gonna we're we're gonna
get right. Yet he went out and ran for almost
two hundred yards. And then you fast forward to that
to the Arizona game where you're the more talented team.
Speaker 2 (21:08):
It's in the backup quarterback is plays in the back of.
Speaker 4 (21:10):
Birth said with no disrespect, but you know he's been
around and he's not a guy that you you fear.
He's not a guy that's gonna strike fear in your heart.
Yet he went out there and played at the all
pro level. You got Russell Wilson turned the clock back
four hundred and fifty yards. You know, at one point
in time, you gotta look at yourself and say, man,
we're tired of giving up these explosives at least at
(21:31):
the very minimum, at the very minimum, defensively, make teams
go eighty yards, make them go ninety yards and score
on you.
Speaker 2 (21:39):
Instead, these guys are.
Speaker 4 (21:40):
Giving up explosive play after explosive play after explosive play,
and you're not gonna win games that way.
Speaker 2 (21:45):
You lose the turnover.
Speaker 4 (21:47):
Battle, you lose the explosive battle. It's just not a
formula for success. Now with these additions, you know, with
these additions on the deepensive line at the linebacker level,
I gotta see an improvement. Just there's just gotta be
And hopefully those are the catalysts to get these guys
and say.
Speaker 5 (22:02):
Man, look, bump all the rest of the stuff.
Speaker 4 (22:05):
Play for the name on the back of your jersey,
like you gotta have some pride about yourself.
Speaker 5 (22:09):
Don't let the guy get that leaky yardedge.
Speaker 4 (22:11):
You know how flu slights that leak where they just
hit you and they falling four or three four yards,
Because that adds up you don't put play for the
for the name on the back of your jersey, man
for if anything, and you got some reinforcements coming in,
so this gotta be it, because if this ain't it,
you might as well start just playing the young guys
and ain't getting them ready for next year.
Speaker 3 (22:28):
Man. Honestly, if I if I'm a coach with somebody
right now, I'm playing the young guys. What we got
to lose? Like put them in there to light a
fire up under somebody. Like if the Panthers week didn't
light a fire up under you, losing your job is
gonna be the next thing that lights the fire up
under you every Tuesday. You don't have that sense of fear,
that sense of threat that somebody's about to come into
(22:50):
be on your heels. And when you got that type
of fear, that's when you start playing different. And I'm
man thinking of that Carolina game, bru It's like my
my granddad's rolling over in his grave right now. He
used to say, Hey, Tray, when you come home, you
better not letting nobody whoop you, and they better not
tell you that they're gonna whoop you. What Rico and
(23:10):
the Panthers did that was the equivalent back in the
day where the old guy come out there, he rolled
up his sleeve and say, ah, I am, but it's
gonna hurt you. And he did everything to you that
you were supposed to Now that they didne did that,
Like you said, just like you got leaky yardists, Well
guess what, you got a leaky team right now that
everybody is coming through and saying they are the game,
(23:30):
like just like the Raiders are. I watched on the
Instagram live of the Raiders doing their press conference. I
seen Pete Carroll talking. When Pete was talking, he didn't
hold back. He said, Hey, guys, we're out here, We're
swinging for the fences. We're the most dangerous team. We're
about to let everything go. It's ashing genty. You're gonna
do this, Gino, I know you're gonna be this guy.
(23:50):
The way that he talked with so much passion and conviction,
it's like he's already licking his chops. And right now,
Quentin Williams logan, you coming in here revamping yourself in
a scheme that you've already played. This is where you
go in there, like they said on Friday after next,
I know you ain't gonna rest nobody, but just with
some with some a double snakes on the way up there.
(24:12):
Right now, this is the time where you start whooping
snakes and you hope that that momentum goes. You got Overshawn,
that's gonna come back. We got all these big components.
The time is now. If nothing happens right now, all
y'all need to be ready at the end of the
off season to have a discussion.
Speaker 2 (24:26):
And it's not even you know, with your defense, but
offense too, Like the offense is the past two.
Speaker 4 (24:32):
Weeks has been kind of stagnant. I mean, we look
at Denver, we look at Arizona. It wasn't the offense
that we've seen weeks prior to that. You know, I
understand the offensive line is a unit has played well
with all the injuries going in and out. But you know,
you got Booker back. You know, you had Tyler Smith
out there, and you look a little leaky to me,
like Denver was able to get after you. I know
they had a great pass rush, but they was able
(24:54):
to numb a few.
Speaker 3 (24:55):
They did.
Speaker 2 (24:55):
Yet they do have the number one PAS.
Speaker 4 (24:57):
But Arizona, you know a team that that that cats
have been doing dirty.
Speaker 2 (25:01):
They look like the much more physical team.
Speaker 4 (25:04):
The way they were punching, you know, those footballs out
from Ferguson and getting out of there from Javont Williams,
like they were the more physical team. They look like
they wanted it more. And I think that's what's kind
of disheartening. When you look at this team. It's like
you're going to get these players that just wanted more
than you and that's just and to me, that's a
frightening sight because it kind of shows that it's kind
of like, man, hey, you know this ain't all year
(25:25):
type deal and you're.
Speaker 3 (25:26):
Still in it.
Speaker 4 (25:27):
You don't want to have that approach in these games,
and it's got to turn around this week.
Speaker 3 (25:31):
I wouldn't even say that there's the more physical team,
it's the hungrid team, cause there are moments in the
game where you were like, oh, they gonna get rolling,
or hey, you've seen this big play happen. You've seen
somebody get a little bit of energy, but that momentum
dies like every time, Like with Arizona, I seen a
hungry team. I seen a Jacobe Bressett that said, hey man,
(25:51):
this is what I always do. I am the backup.
But when I get in, I have one or two
games and then hey, I'm around long enough. Well guess what,
let me show them why I'm him, Marvin Harrison. Let
me show them why I got the linage, the lineage
and the pedigree. He hasn't been doing nothing. It ain't
been proven, but guess what he was hungry for? And
right now I think the Cowboys are gonna win. But
(26:13):
that's what makes me nervous is because I know Coach
Carroll playing for him. That team is hungry. Gino. The
way that he was talking, he recognized he owned up
to all the failures that he had, but he talked
like he was hungry and said, this is how I'm
gonna get back. It wasn't oh, if we can do this, sorry, Hey,
we're looking at this and this might look good, he said,
when we get back to playing good football, when we
(26:34):
do this like this is all like they see it
happening already. That's the part that makes me nervous. With
this hungry team.
Speaker 4 (26:40):
It's just gonna ask you real quick, yes, like does
this see you look like a team that's you know,
as as Demantre was talking about, hey, if we play
bad on to the next Like there's like the fear
of being held accountable. And I mean I understand it
because being undrafted, it was like, man, bro, I go
out there and get burnt for a couple of I
might not again.
Speaker 2 (27:00):
So does this look like that type of team of you?
I think this is this. We talk about culture, we
talk about the way of how this thing's been. It's
been like that here for a while. It's been like,
oh well, next game, Oh well, this is just it's never.
It's never. You don't feel as a whole that there's
been a dire sense of energy when it comes to
(27:25):
winning these games, and if you lose them, it just
feels like we'll get the next one, you know what
I mean, It's never been because I'm listening to you
guys talk about these two games, these two teams, and
I'm thinking, why is the two and seven team or
the or the other teams more hunger than the three,
five and one team, Like you should be you should
(27:45):
be scrapping, clawing whatever you can, gouging our eyes, you
know what I'm saying, Biting them, twist ankles, like whatever
you gotta do to get these victories. And if sometimes
the energy feels more like y'all five three and one
and not three five and one, and you're in you're
you're in the you're not in the driver's seat. And
(28:05):
sometimes it feels that way like they're like they feel
like they're in the driver's destiny still, and it's like
and the part that I and sometimes I don't understand.
And if you've been around here long enough and you've
played in a Cowboy uniform, you know you're gonna get
the very best from everybody, everything, everybody. Say what you
(28:29):
want to feel, how you feel. People look at the Cowboys.
Vegas Raiders will look at the Cowboys as their super Bowl.
If we can go out and get a win against
the Cowboys a Monday night football, we'll get talked about
all week, you know what I'm saying. And the Cowboys
need to have that level of energy about whoever they play,
make have the energy up. This is this is the
(28:50):
next this is the super Bowl for us because the
way teams come at you and the way things teams
look at you is is like we beat them, We've
accomplished in the in the season, and whether it matters
or not, they come out and play that way you know,
it reminds me of of of my basketball days in
college playing at un C. It didn't matter what gym
we went into at North Carolina. Cross my chest in
(29:12):
the basketball.
Speaker 3 (29:13):
Court, you gonna get it.
Speaker 2 (29:14):
Everybody wanted to take whether whether we were the number
one team in the country or when, whether we when
we weren't even ranked. You know what I'm saying. My
freshman year, we weren't.
Speaker 3 (29:22):
We won.
Speaker 2 (29:22):
We were my sophomore year. And you got you going
to gym and you're playing Saint Mary's and them jokers
hitting every man. We watched it, well, I watched that
on the field. We just got it. Y'all ain't hitting
like this, Them jokers fourteen for seventeen for three. Y'all
ain't hit fourteen threes in three games.
Speaker 10 (29:42):
Crazy.
Speaker 2 (29:42):
And so that's the edge of the Cowboys. Opponents play with.
Uh so so awfully the Cowboys meet that and exceed
that in this Monday night football game, because while they're
not in the driver's seat, their their their future is
not completely done. They still have a chance. But it
starts Monday night. You loose Monday Night and it's pretty
much a rap. You win Monday Night, and you live
(30:03):
to see another day. All right, We'll take a final
break when we come back. When we come back from
the break, I want to ask you guys a question
before we get to our picks. I want to ask
you both the questions you think about this in the break.
Give me one player if you got to give me
to but give me at least one player who you
believe will have a breakout in the second half of
(30:27):
this season. Offense, defense, whoever it is. Give me one
player if you got too great if not, And even
at home, the people who are watching the players club,
you know who is your one player you think is
going to have a breakout. Make the money, don't let
(30:54):
the money make you be right back humble.
Speaker 11 (31:02):

Five to Lopez, I ain't paying the five five. This
is the Player's Lounge, brought to you byame married choice
of my Timore. I am Jesse Holly, and so I
pose a question to you two gentlemen before we went
(34:04):
to the break, to give me one player on this
Cowboys roster that you think is going to have a
breakout second half, and it could be anybody. It could
be anybody that will have a breakout second half to
the season. De mantra, you're up.
Speaker 3 (34:22):
Let me let me go sweet real quick. I think
it's gonna be Logan. That's who I think. That's why
I hope, and that's what I want. We are talking
about a star player that has proven in this league
that he.
Speaker 2 (34:34):
Is the guest star. He wasn't shut up. I'm sorry.
Speaker 3 (34:39):
He's a starter. Okay, he wasn't a starter. He wasn't
making plays back in since he was so anyway, I'm bad.
I mean. One, it's not as much pressure. We all
know that everybody's talking about tomorrow Overshan coming in, but
for him, it's something about coming to play for this
start playing for Dallas Cowboys, the America's team. For that guy, like,
(35:01):
it's not as much pressure on him. With a defense
that's doing really bad, and we all know that when
your general is running everything, he doesn't have to have
the big name, but he knows what he's doing and
you can trust him. Right there, that's helping the secondary,
that's helping the front line, he's the mediator. In between,
and so I think that he's going to have a
breakout season in ebra Flus defense.
Speaker 4 (35:20):
All right, I got two of them. One of them
which is is your man Logan. I think he's going
to be that once he gets that playbook down, and
he's going to be that guy that that ibra Flus
needs on the defensive quarterback. I mean, if you look
at all the defenses eber Flues has had a hand in,
He's always had that guy at the second level that
either they're an a racer which means if anybody in
(35:41):
the front messes up, he's able to go ahead and
still make the play, or a guy that's just extremely
intelligent and is able to get the entire defense lined up.
When you go back to the Sean Lee days, you
go back to you know, ro Kwan Smith over in Chicago,
you go back to Shack Leonard over there. Yeah, those
like guys that know the defense like the back of
(36:01):
her hand and can get everybody on the same page.
I do believe Logan is gonna be one of those
guys that is going to have a you know, a steady,
steady playmaking ability in the second half of the season.
And my other guy is going to be Donovan as
a rokku, which I was. I was tough on to
the beginning. You know, I saw the size and that
game in Philly and how he was getting tossed out
the club and I was just like, man, I don't
(36:22):
know if this guy got it. But as the weeks
have gone on, especially these last couple of weeks, he's
shown promise.
Speaker 2 (36:27):
You know, he's gotten to the quarterback.
Speaker 4 (36:29):
He's he's out there playing the run better than I
thought he could with his side. So to me, I
think this last last part of this season, I think
you'll start to see he'll get more comfortable in that
confidence as we all know we played the game. Once
that confidence gets instilled in you that well, I belong
on this field, like I don't you know me, I
might be a rookie, but I can play with all
these events. That's when you start seeing guys take that
(36:50):
next leap. And I feel like Donovan is starting to
get that confidence about him.
Speaker 5 (36:54):
So I believe he'll have a big second half of
the season as well.
Speaker 2 (36:57):
All right, so heavy, heavy that where's the crowning for
Logan Wilson. He is one that's both of you are
thinking he needs and will have a break out second
half of the year. I'm with you on Donovan Asarako.
I think he is. I think the light bulb is
starting to kind of go off, uh and his head
a little bit. And when you when you're able to
get that push and pressure in the middle of the defense,
(37:21):
when you add quinning, you know, those edges become short alive.
All right? And so now what was just ah, I
just missed him? What was just man? If he held
it just a tad bit longer, now becomes a sack,
a strip, a pressure A quarterback is now eyes are
off down the field, and now you can make plays
or you rush him. And now Duran blandet Company. They're
(37:42):
getting picked sixes all that. You said it many times.
The rush is tied to the to the coverage, and
the coverage is tied to the rush. So I'm with
you on that, Donovan Asako. All right, Let's get to
our picks. Chris what I what I what's going on? Playboy?
All right?
Speaker 10 (37:59):
So let's go to the standings. First, Church, Yeah, Church
and New we are tied for first place.
Speaker 14 (38:07):
Oh okay, Anthony is second with by the way, Church
forty three and twenty eight not bad, but Vegas thirty
thirty two for Anthony and thirty four and thirty seven.
Speaker 10 (38:19):
Now on a Jesse Holly note, he has big games
for US this year so far. He is nine and
six when you've been here.
Speaker 2 (38:27):
That's good.
Speaker 11 (38:30):
Six.
Speaker 2 (38:30):
I don't give you actually six, not a six maybe,
but you.
Speaker 10 (38:33):
Will be picking games today.
Speaker 2 (38:36):
Down.
Speaker 10 (38:36):
First game we got Washington versus Miami. That game is
played in Madrid. Miami is favored by two and a half.
Speaker 2 (38:44):
No Jayden Daniels in that game, right, Nope?
Speaker 3 (38:47):
No is Terry McLarin H. McCloy. Up.
Speaker 2 (38:52):
Things ain't going too well right now in Washington. Things
is a little a little shaky in Washington. M This
Miamy's bad too. God, Yeah, you know what, g give
give me the command give me the commanders. I don't
I don't trust to. I don't trust two in the
States and trust him abroad. Give me give me the commanders.
(39:17):
Marcus Mariota nineteen thirteen.
Speaker 5 (39:21):
That's ugly, give me, give me give me two of
them boys.
Speaker 4 (39:24):
Man eight Chan going he's going crazy right now, man,
So give me a give me two of them boys
twenty one seventeen.
Speaker 3 (39:30):
Man, I just don't believe in them. I think d
Q gonna get them boys right, give me the comanders.
Speaker 5 (39:35):
Man, honestly, no pain, no right, he gone, he suspended.
Speaker 2 (39:38):
Oh pain punching folks. Yeah, he stole old buddy.
Speaker 3 (39:44):
I'm still falling this year. To my god brother var Mill,
I'm still going with them to take Jesse score nineteen sixteen.
It's gonna be an ugly game.
Speaker 10 (39:53):
And for a clerical note, Anthony George said, twenty seven
to fourteen, Miami, okay, trying to the next game, Carolina
at Atlanta. Atlanta has the favorite at three and a half, so.
Speaker 2 (40:07):
You know what's get three at home? So they are
half and give me the fighting. Rico Daddles, give me
the give me the fighting Rico Dallas boy. You know,
shout out to Rico man. You go in there, you
be a backup. You felt like you didn't get your
value here and you thought it was going to the
market to get paid more. Nobody didn't respect you in
the market. You're behind you, Bahabba who they just paid
(40:29):
you know. Then he gets hurt and you said, I
got you, I gotcha, I got you, So give me
the fighting. Rico Dados, give me, give me twenty three,
twenty three, seventeen.
Speaker 4 (40:45):
I got you know it's in Atlanta, rights in Atlanta.
I just don't believe in Bryce Young at all.
Speaker 2 (40:50):
Man said the fight at Rito doctor take either came.
Speaker 4 (40:54):
I just can't believe in my man. But so I'm
gonna go Atlanta. I'm gonna go Falcons in this one.
Twenty eight twenty four.
Speaker 3 (41:03):
I'm gonna go. Uh. I'm gonna go with my boy
Darren base down there, special team assistant, Uh, the Panthers
and fighting ric o'dallos. I'm gonna go twenty four to seventeen.
I think it's gonna be a ugly.
Speaker 10 (41:15):
Game, though, Anthony went twenty four eighteen Carolina. Next game,
we got the Chargers, our favorite against Duvall.
Speaker 3 (41:26):
Where is it.
Speaker 10 (41:26):
At at Duvall?
Speaker 2 (41:30):
Dude, ball, you got no Travis Hunter. He's out for
I'm about to say, sun Shine just say, I don't
know what it was, man, Sunshine just he had so
much promise. There's so much promise coming out of Clemson.
He thought he was about to be the next John
Lware type, some type player like that. Playoff win yeah, sure,
(41:55):
but I'm I'm gonna take I'm gonna take Jim Hardball
and company. I know, I know, I know who your
boy is. You know, you know I'm going. I'm gonna
take I'm would take the Chargers. Chargers twenty eight, twenty
eight fourteen.
Speaker 4 (42:11):
Yeah, you know, I'm going with my boy RB Man.
They play some defense down there in Jacksonville a little bit.
Uh So I'm gonna go twenty one twenty Largers.
Speaker 3 (42:22):
And this is where I catch up. I'm gonna go
with Jacksonville, my boy Eric Ramstead, a catalyst, and the
def I think they lock them boys up. I hope
they like them. I'll go go with twenty I think
it's gonna be twenty three, twenty three to thirteen.
Speaker 10 (42:45):
Anthony went Chargers thirty sixteen.
Speaker 3 (42:48):
Herb.
Speaker 10 (42:50):
Next game, we got Chicago at Minnesota. Minnesota's favorite by three.
Speaker 2 (42:55):
It's a favorite. They're at home.
Speaker 3 (42:57):
So get you get three at home, you get you got,
You got your boy back?
Speaker 10 (43:01):
Now stop.
Speaker 2 (43:06):
Man, what you got listen. I'm a big believer in
Ben Johnson. What he's doing in Chicago right now is
he has turned that franchise around already. They're still learning
how to win, but they are winning close games. They're
winning comeback games. They're not blowing folks out just yet.
You gotta get to a point, you got you gotta
you gotta learn how to blow folks out. Right. So
now they are winning these close games and the tight games,
(43:29):
and they're coming from behind. I'm going with the fighting.
Ben Johnson's give me the Bears twenty four, twenty four,
twenty four to seventeen Bears.
Speaker 4 (43:40):
Many they playing the defense in Chicago if they win,
and think of what the seven.
Speaker 2 (43:45):
Three, seven and three.
Speaker 5 (43:46):
I think sixty seven seven three seven three.
Speaker 2 (43:49):
Let's go, Ben Johnson, let's go. Let's go to my
brother and my tar.
Speaker 3 (43:53):
Hill More on the other side, I.
Speaker 4 (43:55):
Can't Brian Floyd Is I got man, give me the bikes. Man,
give me the bikes in this one low scoring game.
I just Caleb. I can't get down with his game.
So seventeen fourteen bikes.
Speaker 3 (44:09):
Well, I'm going down there, like you said, Ben Johnson,
got them boys rolling my dollar coach Hot Tower special
team coordinator down there, he ate, he is scrapping and
this team has really been scrapping. So I think this
is going to be a twenty four to seventeen game
Chicago Bears.
Speaker 10 (44:28):
The Bears bear down Anthony went with the Bears as well,
twenty seven to twenty four. Next game I got for
you is Seattle at the LA Raingying.
Speaker 2 (44:42):
There is no there's no coordinator that I respect more
in modern day football than Sean McVay. That's a bad, bad,
bad dude. And he getting ready to carve up that
Seattle defense. He getting ready to carve him up. I
love I love me some Sean McVay designing, drawing up
(45:04):
and calling plays. Give me the Rams twenty eight, twenty
one Rams.
Speaker 4 (45:11):
That's it's gonna be. That's a battle NFC West Division opponents.
They know each other, see.
Speaker 2 (45:16):
Hottle defense, balling, play man.
Speaker 3 (45:19):
Give me.
Speaker 2 (45:19):
I'm with you on that man. Give me the Rams.
He's gonna be a good one though. Twenty eight, twenty four.
Speaker 3 (45:23):
Give me the Rams, man, you know what I'm going
with it. The Seahawks they got the Hey, they got
my dog juring Reed down there, and that big BF
from the Soto down there. The first round pick, all
that defense. The law is a two touchdown. Hey. Like
I said that defenses hume and don't you cain't Sam Darnold's.
Speaker 2 (45:43):
Doing what he's doing.
Speaker 3 (45:44):
I got them going thirty thirty thirty one to twenty
thirty one twenty sean go get some point, but he
ain't like that. Sammy de gonna showing what divisional Sammy d.
Speaker 10 (45:58):
Man Anthony went with Seattle twenty eight twenty seven on
the close one. The next game, I got, we got
a good one. Kansas City travels to the mile high Denver, Colorado.
Kansas City by.
Speaker 5 (46:14):
Three and a half in Denver too.
Speaker 10 (46:17):
In Denver, that defense is crazy.
Speaker 2 (46:19):
November is when Kansas City starts setting itself apart. That's
when they start showing the rest of the league that
you know, they sometimes spread her up to this point.
But as we get closer and closer to those playoffs,
Andy Reid the boys start they get that Alan Rich out,
and they get their vice scripts out, and they start
they start tighten the game up a little bit more,
more and more and more. So I got I got
(46:40):
Kansas City, Kansas City thirty one, twenty eight. Yeah, I'm
with you on that.
Speaker 4 (46:48):
I'd be interested to see what what Andy Reid's record
is off of buy too. So they got they had
time to you know, calibrate and all that stuff. So
give me k C, give me case twenty four, twenty one, Casey, what's.
Speaker 3 (47:06):
That man name down there? Mister Benito? Hey, anybody with
the name Nick, Nicholas, Nicholas, oh Man, I got Denver.
That past rush I think is gonna be crazy. I
think Father Tom is finally gonna show his hand. And
we've seen what we've seen out of Patrick Mahomes. He's
not having the weapons and stuff like that.
Speaker 2 (47:27):
And who's Father Tom getting.
Speaker 3 (47:29):
Father Tom is gonna get them over there? He ain't
got no weapons, Travis Kelsey.
Speaker 2 (47:33):
That's what Father Time gonna get. Who Patrick?
Speaker 3 (47:35):
They get Patrick Mahome And and then Tom has come
to the end that pass rush in that defensive not
believing in it. What weapons. Like I said, I got Denver.
I think it's gonna be a high scoring game, thirty one.
I think it's gonna be thirty one, twenty four. There.
Speaker 2 (47:53):
So to answer your question, Barry Church, Andy Reid his
teams both Philadelphia and Kansas City. Andy Reid is twenty
two and twenty four coming sleep by Faith in Philadelphia.
In Philadelphia he was thirteen and one coming off of
bye and in Kansas City he's been nine and three
coming off of bye Wait thirteen and one. Hold on,
(48:16):
ye he said twenty and twenty four.
Speaker 3 (48:18):
Yeah, he said he was twenty one and twenty four.
Speaker 2 (48:21):
Yeah, has it right? He was, I'm sorry twenty two
and four. Oh okay, I thought you said four. I'm
sorry twenty two and four. Okay, got that makes it
twenty two and four. Okay, yeah you will check y'all
excitement twenty two and for you do that on point
thirteen to one in Philly and nine in three in Kansas.
Speaker 3 (48:40):
City, it's gonna be five.
Speaker 10 (48:44):
Anthony picked Kansas City on that one, twenty four to
twenty one. Now, the game of the weekend probably Detroit
at Philly. Philly is favorite by two and a half.
Speaker 3 (48:57):
Let's go. Do you know what to do?
Speaker 10 (48:58):
This is a tough one.
Speaker 2 (48:59):
I know, I know because because as much turmodils going
on in Philly and as bad as they played offensive
land Philly, they keep winning. They keep winning. But strength
first strength, Detroit is just too good for Meroit. Detroit's good.
So I'm I know you like the Maggies.
Speaker 3 (49:20):
Been quoting them all day by n Ankles.
Speaker 2 (49:22):
Nah, give me Philadelphia, Give me Philadelphia, Philadelphia nineteen nineteen seventeen. Philadelphia,
Wo man.
Speaker 4 (49:31):
I just I just think golf got too much, too
many weapons out there. Man, they're gonna go out of
dorri Ja Dori Jackson, Man, give me give me Detroit
Man twenty four twenty three.
Speaker 3 (49:50):
I like you think. I like Detroit twenty. I like
Detroit twenty four. I think the defense is there, the
weapons are there. In Philly's secondary is just trash, just trash.
So I think there's gonna be bombs over the bad day.
Speaker 10 (50:09):
Anthony also likes Detroit twenty one twenty Next.
Speaker 15 (50:12):
Time Dallas at Las Vegas. Dallas is favorite by three
and a half man.
Speaker 2 (50:18):
Emotional week for the Cowboys. I hope that they are
there for that three hours they lock in. Shoddy said
that you don't move on, you move forward, and you
gotta move forward. Monday Night football. I think it's a
low scoring game. Uh, they better come to play. They
better they better come. They need to play like they're
the desperate team, the more desperate team. What did I say?
(50:40):
What did I say on hanging with the Boys? I said, Uh,
I said nineteen What I said nineteen twenty one? I
think I said twenty one nineteen or twenty three nineteen
or something like that. Twenty three nineteen scoring twenty three nineteen.
Speaker 4 (50:50):
Yeah, I think they're gonna I thin ain't gonna smack
the Raiders. They're gonna get that that that influx from
the d linean Quinn Williams, look Wilson. Is it gonna
last throughout the rest of the season. I don't know,
but I think they're gonna get that spark in this one.
So give me thirty two to seventeen.
Speaker 3 (51:10):
Like Cowboys, I think pressure bust pipes and McDonald with
with everything that's going on, you got weapons that you added,
plus a traumatic thing going on right there. It makes
the team bond. So I think this is gonna be
a thirty eight to thirteen type game. Like I think
this is it's gonna be one of those.
Speaker 5 (51:29):
Media backs they smacking up.
Speaker 2 (51:32):
He's smacking ocean.
Speaker 3 (51:33):
Yeah, exactly, Like I said, I think that. I think
with all the momentum and just everything and Shoddy being
an energy guy coming from Pete Carroll, like this is
him getting a chance to go back and gets his predecessor.
Then on top of that, we're playing for your brothers.
You're gonna do that. I think that is coming off
of bye week. I think Dallas is gonna do it,
so yeah, thirty eight to thirteen, which I think it's
a smacking so all.
Speaker 15 (51:55):
I got Anthony picked, Anthony picked Dallas thirty three and
put his picks in and he left that pick out.
Speaker 2 (52:09):
I want to say, let me see the Dallas pick.
Speaker 10 (52:11):
And then he said it later he had to think
about it, probably asked his dad.
Speaker 2 (52:15):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (52:16):
I was about to say, what about New We got
to get his the next time.
Speaker 10 (52:19):
I sent new the picks. He hadn't sent it back
to me yet.
Speaker 2 (52:22):
Okay, he probably knew we probably picked up with him.
I'll just checked the paper called that number when we
called that number on that pick, that car game on?
