Did you know that you were going to have to
go through free agency? Did the Patriots give you a
heads up or did you kind of find out maybe
when everyone else did. Bill had spoken to me and
kind of told me what his plans were, so I
kind of had an idea that I wasn't gonna get tendered. Um.
And then from there on it was just kind of
free range. And I became a free agent and we
were talking to some teams and I was pumped from Pittsburgh, Colt.

How did What was it that got you here? Um?
The opportunity of a two year contract? Really just showing
that a team really believes in me and they want
to have me in for two years at least and
then maybe something more after that. Um. But and then
being be able to play for the Pittsburgh Steelers organization
was a big plus two. I know their first rate
and everything they do, so that was exciting. Have you

had a chance to meet Danny Smith yet? I have?
What do you think of him? I think we're gonna
get along just fine. Why do you say that? It
seems like my kind of guy. He's in there, he's
he's allowed guy, and he likes to talk football. And
so do I. You said, when you came into town,
you went to Permianny's. How did you know that that's
where you had to go. My driver that picked me
up from the airport, I was asking when I was like, Pittsburgh, man,

tell me about it. He said, he's been there for
forty seven years. His name is Mike. Mike, if you're
watching this, what's up. He drove me by Hinesfield first
and he told me. I said, I'm hungry. He said,
you gotta get you a pronancy sandwich. I was like,
right on. So I got set up in the hotel,
walked down downtown Pittsburgh somewhere I don't even know where
I was going, and I found the place and order
the sandwich. It was good, which I never had sarkraut before,

which was a surprise because I am Polish my last name,
but I like StarCraft. I guess speaking of your last name,
tell us how to say it so that everybody gets
it correctly. Oh yes, everything silent but the O and
the ski pretty much. That's what I tell people. All Right,
we're gonna make sure Steelers fancy this. Um. Is there
anything that Steelers told you in terms of maybe an

opportunity on offense. Yeah, I know. They said they're going
to give me a chance to come out and play ball,
and that's all I mean you can really ask for.
I like having the ball in my hands. I like
return the punts and kicks, and anytime I can get
the football, it's a good time to me. So I'm
looking forward to showcasing what I can do with it
on the offensive side as well. When I was reading
up on you, I saw you know you played football
and baseball in college. When did football become maybe your

first lover or where you knew that was what you
wanted to I knew I was never gonna be able
to pick between the two, and really decision got made
for me when I broke my hand my junior year
baseball first game of the season, I slid in the
second broke my hand, and then football teams kind of
started calling, and I knew I was going to get
a chance to play my senior football, which my plan
was to get drafted for baseball, leave college, leave the

school behind, and go play ball. But I got to
play my senior football, and then that opportunity presenting itself
to go to the next level for that, so I'd
say the decision got made for me, which is good
because I could have never picked between the two. What
is the mentality of a specialist? You gotta love everything
about football, the hitting, the blocking, the running, the receiving.

(02:53):
Every part of the football game comes together on a
special team's play, and that's what I think you gotta
love about it. If you're gonna play special teams and
you're gonna, you're gonna you're gonna take some shots. For sure.
It's a high speed collision play, So that part, you
gotta love that
