Speaker 4 (01:38):
So we're glad that you are here. A lot to unpack.
Speaker 3 (01:41):
Of course, alongside me today there they are Speedy, Greg
and Adler, all here and ready to go. We are
coming off quite an active day. Yesterday we celebrated the
life and of course the impact of Martin Luther King Junior.
We swore Donald Trump in as the forty seventh president.
(02:03):
He's already been the forty fifth. That has a lot
to you know, to talk about. Today. We have our
first ever twelve team playoff national champion in college football,
the Ohio State Buckeyes. When I saw holds off Notre Dame,
when we all at the time, we rise all gave
(02:24):
up on the game. It was a blowout with Ohio State,
but apparently Notre Dame saved face a little bit and
lost at thirty four to twenty three.
Speaker 4 (02:35):
We'll talk about that.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
And plus let's just let's just all have a little
let's look back on the twelve team playoff and see
how we liked it.
Speaker 4 (02:43):
Let's just have a have let's.
Speaker 3 (02:45):
Have a little talk about the playoff, and we'll do
that on the show today. We'll talk about, as I said,
everything that happened.
Speaker 1 (02:51):
Winter weather is always a good topic, especially when it
involves Southerners, and this time it looks like this baby
is going to run along the Gulf coast.
Speaker 4 (03:03):
I mean talk about Southerners.
Speaker 3 (03:05):
I'm talking about even Southerners that normally are exempt are
going to get the brund of this baby. So a
Span will be with us. He'll update us on the
latest track and on all that. And of course Greg
is here today to remind all of us about twenty
fourteen when we were all on the air thinking we
were going deer honey that day, and Span was talking
(03:27):
to us and telling us we were good, and then
all of a sudden, Snowmageddon hit and it was it
wasn't just like this, but it was a flash freeze.
We won't have that because it's so cold in the
Deep South. Whatever falls now will just stick, so it
won't be like Ben when things fell melted Denfros. So anyway,
(03:51):
we'll let you know. I will tell all of you
that are traveling to our part of the world for
the weekend for the Man Church conference, and you're coming
from all over sixteen different states represented. The last time
we checked. No issues with the Man Church conference at all,
So you're good. If anything comes around Birmingham today, and
it's really not expected to it will be long. It'll
(04:12):
be gone before you would be traveling this weekend. So
so there you go. So that there's our updates, that
there's the table set. Guys, No, then there's a lot
to discuss. Anybody on Team RBS that said I'm staying up.
I'm going to see the National Championship game to the end.
I know Adler is the biggest sportsman here, he's our
(04:33):
football expert.
Speaker 4 (04:35):
Did you did you stay with it at all?
Speaker 1 (04:38):
Andler?
Speaker 5 (04:38):
I went to sleep when they dinked it off the
upright in the fourth beginning of.
Speaker 1 (04:42):
The fourth you stayed up that lately? Why?
Speaker 6 (04:45):
Well, I mean putting my kids away.
Speaker 4 (04:47):
Okay, okay, speedy.
Speaker 7 (04:49):
I was with it, and then Terry got a text
from some friends that Trump was in the Oval Office
just talking to the press signing executive orders, and so
we went over to that and that was more entertaining
than the game.
Speaker 4 (05:02):
Okay, great, so I left it.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
I tried. First of all, I told you I wasn't
that interested in this game. Well you've made that clear.
And I tried, and I kept falling asleep, sitting straight up,
and Lisa's like, why are you? Why are you even
trying this? And I had watched the first series when
Notre Dame drove it down the field, and that was
that was fun to watch. But then I saw Ohio
State come back and answer. Just looking at the two
(05:27):
teams matching up, I thought, yeah, but anyway, I just
I wasn't that into it, and I got really sleeping,
so I went to bed in eight o'clock.
Speaker 7 (05:34):
I'm like, you, Rick, When I saw the headlines hold off,
they held off Notre Dame, I'm like, dad had thirty
one unanswered points, and when I was looking at it
was a blowout. But now I see the replays and
kind of what they did.
Speaker 3 (05:47):
Adler had things going on with his kids, so that's
what kept him up. He made that clear. I think
you and I, if we were honest, those of all
of you out there who and a lot of.
Speaker 4 (05:57):
You have to go to bed early, and you actually
worked real hard.
Speaker 3 (06:00):
Okay, but you know if you're a go to bed
early person and you have something like this, By the way,
coming He's gonna be on our show in February because
he's speaking at the Panama City Man Church conference Pastor
Dean and Sarah I laughed really hard. He put out yesterday,
could I ask Trump one of his executive orders is
you can't play these games on week nots anymore. But anyway,
(06:23):
but anyway, this is what's weird. I can't describe it.
There's a certain piece that comes with this game is
not even any good. I'm free to go now, I'm
free to go.
Speaker 8 (06:33):
Now.
Speaker 3 (06:34):
Why now you find yourself hoping the game's no good? Yeah,
so you can guiltless, have a guiltless go to bed.
And so what I did is when I saw twenty
one seven going into half, and knowing Ohio State was
getting the ball again to start the third quarter, I
went to bed.
Speaker 4 (06:47):
Yeah, so I went to bed.
Speaker 7 (06:48):
At halftime, there was a couple of minutes left and
Ohio State was winning thirty one twenty three. Notre Dame
had gotten into within a score from him, and then
Ohio State put it away, you know, converting it first
down and all that, and went on to kick a
field goal. But but yeah, for for a second there
it was with a couple of minutes left, watching the replays,
Notre Dame had fought back to within one score.
Speaker 3 (07:10):
There's so much to cover on the inauguration. Yeah, so
much to cover. I watched Calvin Speedy Wilburn yesterday. We
all know about his secondhand embarrassment and his just comfort
because he's, you know, been a producer and a handler
for so many years, and he just laments when when
(07:31):
when when an event has some kind of issue. Watching
you yesterday, you guys, I'm not exaggerating this adler.
Speaker 1 (07:39):
I think you might have caught some of it. I
don't remember.
Speaker 3 (07:41):
Speedy was so bothered by what happened with Carrie Underwood
he ran over to the basketball goals and just started
shooting basketball, screaming, somebody do something. It's like you had
to let some nervous energy off. He just started shooting basketball.
Speaker 1 (07:54):
It was the.
Speaker 4 (07:54):
Weirdest thing to watch.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
It was like there felt like forever forever. So we'll
we'll talk about that, Greg.
Speaker 3 (08:01):
Somebody right out of the gate says, can I get
Greg to rate my breakfast on his gay breakfast?
Speaker 1 (08:05):
Still lemon filled pastry, slightly gay, not fully committed. How
y'all knocked out? Are you good with creamfield? Anything? I mean,
do you like that? Yeah? I'm gonna talking about the
gray part, just like do you like Yeah, anything that I.
Speaker 3 (08:28):
Don't, I'd rather know. I don't like all that. I'd
rather just be straight. Yeah it is. It is kind
of messy. Yeah, it's almost like you just somebody said
that's too much. You had plenty, you didn't have that,
you didn't all right, so well we'll unpack all that today.
Your phone calls will be part of it.
Speaker 1 (08:51):
That's good, that's good.
Speaker 3 (08:56):
I'm so proud of the textures this year. You guys
have really come on. Uh, we'll be back fifteen minutes past.
Mister Rick Burgess Show. Ready to go again, America?
Speaker 1 (09:08):

(09:32):

Speaker 1 (09:36):
Everybody ready? Will my fall from grace?
Speaker 9 (09:39):
What a science to see?
Speaker 10 (09:43):
And good turn to bad, bad turn to misery.
Speaker 1 (09:49):
I found out what it is and what is not?
Nobody says singing about it, and all I asso show
ain't what I got to know.
Speaker 10 (10:01):
Well, up, wit, that looks a lineman dead, took all
my guide and amuch left to me? Come what man fair?
Speaker 11 (10:18):
Held together by a few old dreads, and I'm still
here there at much have to see somebody saying, well,
I'm still and.

they hang in there. They do a lot of ben
podcast and let it go. What about our daily arcos?
What about our daily arc that? Okay, okay, so all
about it. Let's let's talk about you know, yesterday, I
think we I think we want to. I think we
(13:07):
want to to. First of all, always bring to Greg's
attention the guy on the text line that watches him
shoot basketball every day.
Speaker 1 (13:15):
Okay, See, he's lost credibility because the last round I
was like at least seventy.
Speaker 4 (13:21):
Right, Yes, that's right. So he can't be calling you brick.
Speaker 1 (13:25):
He can on certain shots, right, I'm sorry, I'm not
great at a child's game over here in the corner.
Speaker 4 (13:31):
Here he goes, Yeah, so let's start.
Speaker 3 (13:34):
We'll get into inauguration and we'll get into the national
championship and all that. But I kind of had one
of those moments, uh yesterday, and I was waiting to
see how my wife's follow up foot appointment.
Speaker 1 (13:47):
We go, oh, yeah, he boot.
Speaker 3 (13:52):
So I check in with her and she says, okay,
well you know some some pretty good news. I said, okay,
so you're done. No, no, it's not good news. One
more week in the boot. But but but he says,
I no longer have to wear it when I have
it by the bed when I sleep, to put it
(14:13):
on to go to get up, to go like to
the restroom or something like that. If I'm just walking
a short distance, I don't have to do it. Still
can't put pressure on it. Working out still wants me
to stay in the boot. But by this Saturday I
can go back to not wearing it at all. But
for the rest of the week, he wants me in
the boot. But I don't have to wear it every
little move.
Speaker 1 (14:34):
Okay and goodness, And I said so.
Speaker 3 (14:37):
Then I thought to myself, I thought, okay, so that
that's a game changer.
Speaker 4 (14:43):
On the sleeping little little did I know that?
Speaker 3 (14:50):
You know, it's real cold where we are, and we're Southerners,
and we don't run the heat real high when we're sleeping,
even when it's arctic blast, because you'll to get too stuffy.
But sometimes you can miscalculate that and run the heat
so low that as the temperature drops throughout the night,
it's not enough and they start fighting and you can
(15:11):
get look cold.
Speaker 4 (15:12):
And so now.
Speaker 3 (15:14):
About them covers, and you're like, hello, now I want
to tell I want to tell young men that are
considering the blessing. Let me be perfectly clear, the blessing
of marriage, one woman, one man, under the authority of
the one and only living God.
Speaker 4 (15:30):
It is a blessing.
Speaker 3 (15:32):
But one thing that if you may not be prepared for,
is this means you now have a person that you
will be sleeping in the same bed with.
Speaker 4 (15:41):
And that can be wonderful.
Speaker 3 (15:42):
That can be all snugly, little snugly bumpkin and and
all that's just spooning and just I'll just.
Speaker 1 (15:52):
Hey.
Speaker 3 (15:52):
But then there comes a point where it's just two
people trying to sleep, okay, And that's when it can
go a little And I don't know if all women
are this way, but they tend to be cover grabbers,
and and they'll all there comes a point in in
the middle of the night where I think they just
(16:13):
forget we exist, and it's like all the cover now
belongs to them, and big Pop a little cold over here.
Now it ain't some cover right now, this is this
is not in the summer. Hey, we're not in the
summer now, okay. And so I made a few comments
about the fact I kept waking up, you know, on
(16:34):
the edge of death of the from the cold, because
I was loose, shivering, I was looting, and then my
feet would come out because she'd pull it off my feet.
And now I have a list of things you don't say, apparently,
and all this that that that I swung last night,
and that did not go well. Number one, do not
say this to your wife in the middle of the
(16:55):
night if they're, in your opinion, apparently being a cover grabber. Hey,
someone else is sleeping in this bed.
Speaker 4 (17:02):
Just f y. Don't do that in that tone too.
Speaker 1 (17:06):
Yeah, okay.
Speaker 3 (17:07):
Number two, I'm good. Who needs cover? That That one's
not good? Oh, no worry about me. Do you off
hand know the symptoms for frostbite?
Speaker 1 (17:20):
That one's That one went went uh. And then the
one that I thought would kind of win me back over, hey,
just hand me the boot. So so so so, so
none of those work that was always went bad, those
all went really bad.
Speaker 4 (17:35):
Yeah, you know what that will get you, though, that'll
get you.
Speaker 3 (17:37):
You know what to get you if if now she
wakes up because you have your frustration, I tell you
what will get you. She may be awake, and she
may be sitting in the room where you come out
and get ready to go to work.
Speaker 4 (17:47):
But you won't have to worry about her talking to you.
Speaker 1 (17:49):
No, you won't have to go Now, what'd you say?
There will be no conversation. So just look.
Speaker 3 (17:58):
I think as older men that married a long time,
I think we should help people that are just getting started.
Speaker 1 (18:03):
Yeah, give me the boot. What did you say? Hey,
just give me the boot, because at least I warm
a foot with it. Yeah one, I got one.
Speaker 3 (18:17):
Oh, So what I would say is just try to
stay warm and.
Speaker 1 (18:25):
Keep your mouth shut. Okay, you got to deal with.
Speaker 11 (18:30):
It's the bottom of the hour, and all right, we'll
come back lotch the cover today on a brand new
edition of The Rick Burgers Show.
Speaker 2 (18:43):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. This is what Trump
had in mind when he sought to make America great again.
(19:06):
The Rick Burgry Show.
Speaker 4 (19:10):
All right, so we're all hanging out ready for.
Speaker 1 (19:12):
Another day and much discover today. Yesterday If you missed
yesterday's show, you missed a lot. Can't see archive on
our YouTube channel or our podcast channel. I bet all amazing.
Robbie had a good day yesterday, don't you. I bet
I had a girl. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (19:34):
All right, So a couple of things to the big
stories today.
Speaker 1 (19:39):
All right.
Speaker 4 (19:39):
So we've ended our first year.
Speaker 3 (19:42):
In the history of college football as far as Division
one is concerned. We had the twelve team playoff. We
crowned our national champion last night, the Ohio State Buckeyes.
I don't think anybody disagrees that they were the best
team in the country top to bottom, from the beginning
(20:03):
of the season to the end. They proved it on
the field, and they deserve all the recognition that they get.
Speaker 1 (20:09):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (20:09):
They were, they were dominant, and they got hot when
you need to get hot. Had a little stumble against
their rival Michigan. Have no idea how Michigan beat that team.
Speaker 4 (20:19):
Uh so, uh.
Speaker 1 (20:20):
You throw the record books south window.
Speaker 3 (20:22):
Well that's true, but but anyway, they so they win it.
If if you're a Notre Dame fan, you know you
got to feel good about the state of your program.
As usual, for some reason, when Notre Dame finds their
way into these games. In modern times, it always looks
like their opponent. It's just got a few more horses
than they do.
Speaker 1 (20:41):
Yeh uh.
Speaker 3 (20:43):
And this was not as bad as that time Notre
Dame tried to play Alabama.
Speaker 1 (20:47):
When when one of the best.
Speaker 3 (20:48):
Alabama teams there has ever been, it looked like varsity
and it didn't look like that. Notre Dame had some
players that matched up with the Ohio State some uh,
and so that that wasn't that bad. But so we
But I guess I'm asking how did we like it?
I mean did Now I'm not saying how do you
like who won? That's not what I'm asking how how
(21:11):
do it? Because that's going to be based on whether
you like Ohio State or on? But did you did
we like this playoff? Did we enjoy it? If you're
in charge of it?
Speaker 1 (21:22):
Right now?
Speaker 3 (21:23):
What are the changes you're going to make? I know
we mentioned some early on, uh, and I think there
will be changes. I started thinking, now, do I have
this right in my mind? Because I know that Ohio
State got to buy right or no?
Speaker 1 (21:37):
Yeah? Did they all? Right?
Speaker 7 (21:39):
So wait a minute, did they? Because the Big Ten
was won by Oregon oh, that's right. So they did
not they know Ohio State and get a bye.
Speaker 1 (21:48):
They played Tennessee the first, so they played three games,
uh to to to get to last night. Okay, yeah,
bracket here, thank you because I'm going off memory here. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (21:58):
So they beat oh then Ohio State beat Oregon and
then Texas. Yeah, so they played three to get there.
So they had to win four games some big names
they've beaten two.
Speaker 4 (22:08):
Okay after the season, Okay, to be the national champion.
That's earning it on the field. Notre Dame played three too. Yeah,
So what what is our issue? Why are we not
is joyful? Greg and I've discussed it. We don't like
the way we feel. I have been waiting on this
my entire life, and I don't know why. I was underwhelmed.
(22:32):
I can't I can't figure it out. I don't even
and I'm not even really. So some of you are
probably saying, well, maybe the teams you like didn't do well.
It really isn't that, because I'm not really I'm not
a rabid fan of any team like you know, like
like I was in the days, you know, like you know,
Dad was coaching or when I was a kid, you know,
(22:53):
I don't. I don't have that kind of attachment of
a kid playing.
Speaker 3 (22:56):
I don't have any family ties to teams, so and
I'm not a little kid in more so, I don't
care that much. I should have been able to just
enjoy whoever was in the playoffs. Yeah, and I found
myself it didn't become appointment television to me.
Speaker 1 (23:11):
And and I'm bothered on why that was the case.
I can't explain. It's almost like every.
Speaker 14 (23:15):
Time a lot of the games wrong. I it wasn't
good timing. I had something going on. I can't very similar,
very similar. And I think it's a couple of things
that it's the teams that that made it. We weren't
not that we're following folks, you know the way a
lot do. But we weren't really that.
Speaker 1 (23:32):
Interested in some of the teams.
Speaker 7 (23:34):
Yeah they were early blow they were early blowouts. Yeah,
that's when the semi final games were really good. It
came down to the wire. But it's just for me,
it was just bad timing. A lot of other stuff
going on, and oh I forgot there's a game. That
kind of thing.
Speaker 1 (23:49):
We're not used to having to worry about. Guys. Then right.
Speaker 3 (23:51):
Yeah, I can see if you were rabbit about a team,
like let's say you're a Buckeye fan. Man, this was
a wild yeah, I mean it was, it was.
Speaker 4 (23:59):
It was great. By the way.
Speaker 3 (24:01):
One of the things, just on the comedic side, that
owns me about the Buckeyes is the buck Eye mascot
and the fact that he participates with the team on
certain drills, by the way, that that owns me. When
he gets in there and he's doing the quick hands
in there with everybody. Yeah, and and and you'll just
(24:22):
look and there's that big old buck eye head.
Speaker 6 (24:25):
His head is so big and his legs are so skinny.
Speaker 1 (24:27):
I know. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (24:28):
But the fact that when he inserts himself into the
team got to watch and participates, that that that really
owns me.
Speaker 4 (24:34):
Yeah. So so I.
Speaker 7 (24:36):
Don't know how you shorten it, because it did seem
like it kind of drug on for a long time.
But I don't know how to y'all's point. I mean, look,
the two that made it to the championship game, they
had three games and the championship game, that's four games
they played.
Speaker 6 (24:51):
Should it be eight not twelve?
Speaker 13 (24:53):
Easy?
Speaker 6 (24:55):
Did they jump to twelve to early?
Speaker 15 (24:57):
No?
Speaker 1 (24:58):
I don't think they need to add No.
Speaker 4 (25:00):
Now, I think the twelve is gonna work for me.
Speaker 7 (25:02):
I don't know how you finish any earlier though, with
the regular season wrapping up the early Bowl, I mean
you got to spread them out.
Speaker 3 (25:09):
Some Okay, So how how much more? Because you know,
we had this big gap where we used to sit
around and do nothing that so I like that we're
filling that gas. So how much longer since we're just
simply filling that gap? Did it kicked one week longer
or two than normally in the National Championship usually around
(25:30):
the second week of January, And so we went to
the third week of January?
Speaker 7 (25:35):
Right, Yeah, for some reason, I've got it normally around
like January seventh, tenth correct correct?
Speaker 4 (25:41):
Yeah, yeah, correct.
Speaker 3 (25:42):
So that's eleven more days that it, uh, well, ten
more days that it went on somewhere around that. So
not quite two weeks longer. So I can live with that.
Speaker 7 (25:53):
Yeah, yeah, you know, And I think there'll be changes,
you know, like just because you won a conference doesn't
mean you get a buye. They the guy change that,
you know, because the top four teams in the country,
I mean that I think they're the ones that need
to get to buy uh and I'm sure there'll be
some adjustments made, but.
Speaker 1 (26:11):
Yeah, they'll tweak it.
Speaker 3 (26:13):
Yeah, Oregon goes undefeated and draws one of the toughest
roads in the playoffs, right and yeah, but eventually they
would have had to beat Ohio State anyway somewhere along
the way. Uh So it kind of just got that
over with that they couldn't play with them. Yeah, of course,
I don't know how Notre Dame watches the Oregon game
and still tries to play Manda man.
Speaker 4 (26:33):
But I won't get into that.
Speaker 7 (26:34):
Well, David Pollock told us about this. He warned us,
he did, He warned us. He said that that's what
Notre Dame plays. And when they came out of his
own and demand de mand Ohio State ate them up.
Speaker 1 (26:45):
What I also don't like they need to do away
with the conference championship games. It is with them. I mean,
there's a chance you could play somebody three times. Yeah, right,
that's true.
Speaker 3 (26:57):
So you know, I mean, my goodness, I don't care
about the Omora Championship games. I'd be fine with that too.
I mean, if they I just want to get the
twelve best teams. I think you got to change the seating,
like you said, you got to you got to watch
the automatic bid and or the automatic by at least,
you know, and you and you you.
Speaker 4 (27:13):
Got to go.
Speaker 3 (27:14):
We need to get twelve better teams in it. I
think we'd all go with that.
Speaker 1 (27:20):
Okay.
Speaker 5 (27:21):
And and Bama gets an automatic entry into the playoffs.
Speaker 4 (27:24):
Road tag, Yeah that hurts.
Speaker 3 (27:26):
And listen, let's face it, if Bama's not in the playoff,
it's not as much fun.
Speaker 4 (27:30):
No, I'm just kidding. So well, what did you hear
last night?
Speaker 3 (27:34):
One of the things I did laugh that I saw
because I saw most of the pregame because I knew
that was my only hope I watched it.
Speaker 4 (27:41):
Did you hear.
Speaker 3 (27:42):
When the official announced that he introduced himself in the
umpire and said, we're from the SEC and the crowd boo, yeah, yeah.
And how about Atlanta getting the first ever Yeah, twelve
team playoff championship.
Speaker 4 (27:55):
That's big for Atlanta.
Speaker 7 (27:56):
It is now after the game, uh, Coach Ryan Day
and some of the Ohio State football players had jumped
into a.
Speaker 1 (28:05):
A golf cart.
Speaker 2 (28:07):
Uh.
Speaker 7 (28:07):
And it was a big side by side, but an
extended golf cart where you know, you got a six
seater and whoever was driving didn't account for the wall. Uh,
and ran straight into the wall. It looks like broke
broke the front. The wheels were all turned and so
everybody had celebrated.
Speaker 8 (28:23):
Everybody.
Speaker 7 (28:23):
Everybody had to get out and start walking. Uh yeah,
this is this is the moment.
Speaker 4 (28:28):
Were saying this was going to bother you.
Speaker 1 (28:31):
There it is.
Speaker 6 (28:32):
That has nothing to do with it.
Speaker 1 (28:33):
There it is.
Speaker 7 (28:35):
So she's about she's about to gun it, and she
doesn't account for the wall and the turn and she didn't.
Speaker 1 (28:41):
She didn't. She should have backed up and then turned right.
Speaker 4 (28:44):
She didn't.
Speaker 1 (28:45):
She didn't go far enough by. It looked like it
broke the front. They didn't like it. She's clearly broke.
She's a d her, no doubt.
Speaker 6 (29:01):
She's just going to abandon ship.
Speaker 1 (29:03):
She just leaves. I don't blame you. You got to clear
the area. Players got to clear out. They're like, we're out,
speedy that we're out.
Speaker 5 (29:09):
Oh my, they're just walking away from the wreckage of
the golf.
Speaker 1 (29:13):
What else can they do.
Speaker 3 (29:14):
They just won the national championship and I have to
give her credit for clear in the area.
Speaker 1 (29:18):
Yeah, listen, listen to the impact we got back. It
hurt Ryan Day. By the way, By the way, Rhyan Day,
Ryan Day is mad about that. He made his cheeks
all red. That mine. He's gonna look at her, Oh
(29:41):
my goodness. Oh what did you see his look like?
You know when she's off herself. Oh no, I've upset
the devil.
Speaker 6 (29:52):
But you know, she looks like a scene from Austin Powers.
But he's going back and forth to.
Speaker 1 (29:56):
The golf car. There we go up. All right, we
got a lot to cover. The inauguration yesterday. Wow, everything
we expected it more. We'll get to that. Span will
update us on the winter weather. I'll still to come.
Speaker 2 (30:12):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, Bobby, Bob Dan. We
(30:38):
talked to the public every day and trust us, you
should be gravely concerned. The week Burgess Show.
Speaker 9 (30:47):
There we go.
Speaker 1 (30:48):
Listen, I'm pegging. All right, So a lot going on.
Speaker 3 (30:55):
We'll get into the next hour. The inauguration. We'll talk
about that, brother, So much to cover yesterday. From that,
we hit the college football National Championship. Congratulations Ohio State
Buckeye fans everywhere you had the best team. You proved
you had the best team, and you deserve the spoils.
Speaker 1 (31:15):
Go to the winner.
Speaker 3 (31:16):
Unfortunately we got you started by ramming your team apparently
into the wall.
Speaker 4 (31:21):
So everybody, okay, there we hope.
Speaker 3 (31:23):
So so I do want to mention something in speedy
you have thrown a little warning at me. So this
weekend one of three Man Church conferences will be held
Lord Willing, Birmingham, Alabama. It'll be at Gardendale First Baptist Church.
Every time I talk about this facility because you know
(31:44):
a lot of you, like we said, are coming from
multiple states all over the country. And I say this
every time, and that's going to get a chuckle from
the locals. Is that people say, well, now tell me
word is? I said, well, you get here and then
you're going to see this jiant cross and then you
know you're there, and they'll go, well, can you give
me anywhere? I said, no, trust me. When I say
jihnt cross, I'm talking about like there's large crosses that
(32:06):
look at this cross and said, man, that's.
Speaker 1 (32:07):
Well yeah, yeah, airplane pilots use that as a marker. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (32:12):
It's a beautiful facility. The parking is easy, there's plenty
of parking. We're going to have a blast there this weekend.
Granger Smith speaking Hugh Freees speaking George Wright, Andy Blanks.
I'll be speaking George Houghton doing worship, Greg Speedy and
Adler there from the Rick Burgess Show, gripping and grinning
out in the lobby, and we'll have all of our
(32:33):
resources there for you as well. It will be a
lot of fun this weekend, but also it will be powerful.
So whenever the gang is needing to do something, and
normally this is speedy normally and probably should have been again, okay,
it bothers speedy when we get out of our lanes.
(32:54):
Everybody here has a lane, and we really would prefer
now we can all take each other's responsibilities if needed,
but it's not preferred. Well, it's preferred that everybody stay
in their lank. Okay, it usually works better that way,
it does. So, so I had an opportunity to go
(33:15):
ahead and pick up everybody's all access passes and stuff
for the weekend from you know, the the Ironhill Press bunch,
you know Less Bradford and Andy Blanks because Andy wasn't
in on that. Meaning Less is the one who kind
of runs the conference and you'll see him as the
(33:36):
MC and all that, and he's the one that handles,
credentials and all that. So he said, hey, if you're
by here, you can get the guy's stuff today. I said, well,
let me go ahead and do that. Well, then Speedy
in the break said, did you just give Greg his
his all his stuff for the weekend today? And I said, well, yeah,
I said, yeah. What's what's wrong with that mistake?
Speaker 1 (33:59):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (33:59):
Look, there's a lot of things Greg does really good,
all right, keeping up with stuff is not one of them, right,
And we're normally normally, if if we have a live event,
I wait and give it to him the day of, okay,
And that way there's no confusion.
Speaker 2 (34:14):
Where is it?
Speaker 1 (34:15):
I don't know where it is.
Speaker 6 (34:16):
It's a veteran mood.
Speaker 1 (34:17):
Who took my credentials?
Speaker 7 (34:23):
It's a little frustrated, and normally you're scratching the top
of your head when you're saying it. Yeah, and and
so then there's a mad, uh, you know, panic of
let's find Greg's credentials every time.
Speaker 1 (34:34):
And so all I'm going to ask.
Speaker 7 (34:35):
Greg Greig to do is get that that lanyard, okay
and get it back. No, I'm going to ask him
right now to either give it give it back. That's
one option. But just go put in the truck right now,
Just go put it in the truck, okay, because it
will never.
Speaker 4 (34:51):
Get hang on the mirror.
Speaker 1 (34:53):
Yeah, yeah, by the gear ship wherever he puts things.
I've lost stuff in that truck.
Speaker 9 (34:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (34:58):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (34:59):
So what you're saying when he shows up Friday and
gets out and goes, oh, no, I don't have my stuff,
we go, no, it's in your truck, go back and
get it.
Speaker 7 (35:05):
Yeah, as opposed to yeah, because I've I've done this
at some events before. Hey, I don't have my credentials
Is it still Gregory, you're doing me?
Speaker 8 (35:17):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (35:17):
Yeah, you got another one? And so then I'll go
and I'll give him another one. You know the way
this was said.
Speaker 3 (35:23):
Thing, This was said by the person in charge of
credentials Less yesterday.
Speaker 4 (35:29):
He said this, It was so funny.
Speaker 3 (35:31):
You don't, I know, you do this when you realize
that that we're not paying attention. You're trying to tell
us something we're not listening. I know you deal with
that a lot. Yeah, and and so life says, I
do do that to her, Okay, so so you know,
she she knows how it feels. But you know how
she feels when she says that correct, because you deal
with us exactly. And he noticed I wasn't paying attention.
She said, Rick, just for a second, this is it.
(35:54):
There are no other copies. I have all access badges
for each person. I don't have two for anybody less
And he said, so this is it.
Speaker 4 (36:02):
If you leave with.
Speaker 1 (36:03):
These, they don't have an extra with the door, right,
So tell me I'm not lying.
Speaker 7 (36:08):
I have like at the region's treaty, I have handed
your credential when you walk up that morning before.
Speaker 1 (36:13):
Yeah, yeah, because I didn't know why you did that,
and for obvious reasons. But like I said, he does
a lot of things really good. Yeah, really well, and
keeping up with things, not one of us. And here's
one thing. They're saying, security for this event will be
very high. Okay, you know, and sometimes this is because
whatever speakers are coming or whatever.
Speaker 3 (36:31):
But then you know, we all know some other things
and talking about. So they've increased security. So he said,
this is probably he said, it's probably more important this
year than ever that everybody have their stuff. Okay, but
you you just said I shouldn't I should have waited
and gave this to him on frind. Yes, okay, yes,
he would have been fine your lane as he's walking
(36:52):
to the door with that feminine little suitcase he has, right,
just a computer thing, Greg got my ask You give
that to me and we'll meet in the parking lot
and I'll hand it whatever.
Speaker 1 (37:02):
If that's what you feel. I can't argue with it.
It can happen like one Yeah, so hey, look, so
I left you everything on your on your desk and
stuff you got stuff left you little something else too.
Speaker 7 (37:15):
Yeah, oh hey, I know. And I feel so bad
for Andy Blanks. Why because you have something in hand
that he's wanting you to hold off on, right, And.
Speaker 1 (37:24):
It's just not all you're not going to happen. It's
like on the other side of that wall. That's the
next segment. Guess I was told not to say anthing
about it. I'm not going to some one y'all to go
ahead and have it.
Speaker 7 (37:34):
I'm just so what would it feel bad for less
because we're going to ask him for credentials like the
day of when he's got so many other handles. And
I feel sorry for Andy Blanks because you're going to
talk about what he's asking you not to talk about,
because now you have you have it in hand and
there's just no way well, there's no way around it.
Speaker 3 (37:53):
I kind of feel like Greg right here, tough to
defend myself. Yeah yeah, sometimes department. Yeah, sometimes somebody just
says something. You go, wh it's just factual.
Speaker 1 (38:03):
Just this just really is. It's like I'm gonna over
greet people.
Speaker 6 (38:07):
That's just a fight that's gonna happen.
Speaker 9 (38:11):
All right.
Speaker 3 (38:11):
So if you see Greg running around the parking lot
when you show up this weekend, let him come in.
Speaker 1 (38:16):
We all yeah on that. He ain't gonna have a ticket,
he ain't gonna have a badge. When we go to
break I'm gonna go get that credential. Greg, We're gonna
walk it to your truck and we're gonna put it
in your truck. Yeah, I'm hanging on the mirror. I'll
lose it in the truck.
Speaker 2 (38:30):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 3 (38:34):
Hey, let's talk a little bit about cyber attacks. We've
seen the headlines on the power grids, drones in the sky,
explain that violent attacks on everyday Americans. Now, the ugly
truth is, no leader, no system can protect you from everything.
And the last thing I want is to be standing
in line depending on the help that may never come.
(38:55):
So when a crisis hits, food is always the first casualty.
Everyone needs it, and panic buying makes things even worse.
We've seen this just dealing with weather. So that's why
I made sure that my family is prepared with my
Patriot Supply. Hey, when I go to camp House, You'll
been seeing tales from the camp House. You see it,
It's right there, we have it fully supplied. Their four

Speaker 4 (40:48):
So how about that breakfast?
Speaker 16 (40:50):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (40:51):
Or yesterday Terry Wilburn provided breakfast. We've got a little
left over on that. And then today I'm a good friend, Jack.
They not working, they're not working today. He said, he's
got a few points over to a breakfast place brought
us about Jack, thank you for bringing by breakfast for us.
Speaker 4 (41:09):
They're good to see you too, by the way, thank you.
Speaker 1 (41:11):
Jack, Thank you Jack. Thank you Jack.
Speaker 3 (41:13):
So let's let's he's even worried about Grece credential. He was, Yeah,
a lot of you saying to please don't put Grace
credentials in my truck because I'll just throw them.
Speaker 4 (41:23):
What exactly funny? So inauguration?
Speaker 1 (41:27):
Oh yeah, uh that that felt that felt good, didn't it?
It did? That felt good? So good.
Speaker 3 (41:33):
It was, you know, those of us that are starting
new companies, it felt real good. You know, those of
us that have been through the economic economic disasters of
of of the Biden administration, it felt great. A lot
of bad deals. Now, I will tell you I didn't
I didn't watch all of it. It was going on
while we were here at the office, and I was
(41:54):
hearing bits and pieces of it.
Speaker 4 (41:56):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (41:56):
It sounded like before it was over that we were
we were taking back to Panama Canal. I mean, we
were doing all the time in the renaming the golf
the Gulf of America.
Speaker 1 (42:08):
That's right.
Speaker 3 (42:09):
A lot of bold moves. And you know it was.
There's no doubt that I don't I don't think anyone.
Is there anybody in the camp that doesn't think that
everything was moved indoors in the crowd was reduced significantly
over security issues.
Speaker 1 (42:25):
It was not the weather, No, it wasn't.
Speaker 7 (42:27):
Now now, Trump doubled down on that when Peter Deucy
asked him last night when they were in the Oval
Office and he was continuing to sign executive orders, if
there was more than weather that caused them to go inside,
and Trump said, no, it was weather. But again, what
else are they going to say? I don't know, but
that's what they're saying. Yeah, and who knows.
Speaker 3 (42:46):
He may honestly not have because I know what the
struggle was, and we said that yesterday. The struggle was,
you don't want to give in to fear, but you
also have to balance let's not be stupid. Yeah, and
in this case, there had been not one, but two
assassination attempts on Trump. So I don't think anybody blames
(43:07):
you for taking extra precaution.
Speaker 1 (43:08):
No, no, not at all.
Speaker 7 (43:09):
But you know, to your point, Rick, you were in
and out of the office, and Greg was doing some stuff,
Adler was, but it was on in here. So Adler
piped it through the board and we had it in
the speakers like surround sound, and we were watching it,
and there's so much there. There's so so much there
because being inside it's a lot more intimate, okay, And
everybody is just right on top of each other. So
(43:31):
while Trump is doing the swearing in and the speech,
I mean there's Biden and Kamala. I mean they're reading
the TELEPROMPTU. They're so close.
Speaker 1 (43:38):
Yeah, I mean they're nearly touching him, and again he's
basically listening of all the things they've done to trash
the company, I mean the country. And they sitting there
and then the crowd gives them a stand and out
of course they're not going to I mean they're not
normally they're close to this.
Speaker 7 (43:51):
It's like State of the Union, where one side stays
stays seated, one side stands up.
Speaker 1 (43:56):
I think everybody should stand up.
Speaker 7 (43:58):
By the way, when when Trump said, you know, they
were unsuccessful in killing me, I think everybody should apply.
Speaker 3 (44:04):
But well, let's be honest, though, you wouldn't stand up
if you were kind of pulling for him killing you.
Speaker 1 (44:10):
Well, I guess.
Speaker 7 (44:11):
And there's there's this, you know, controversy about why didn't
Trump put his hands on the Bible? Yeah, well, well,
Justice Roberts didn't give them time. The family was trying
to get out of the seats and Milania had the
Bible and he didn't even give her time to get
by Trump.
Speaker 1 (44:28):
Yes, yes, And so I mean, hey, John Roberts, let
it breathe a little. I mean, you got to give
them time to get there. That's a big moment. You
don't need to rush this now are you doing?
Speaker 7 (44:38):
That's the problem. It wasn't that Trump didn't want to
put his hands on the Bible. Her his hand on
the Bible, because as you can see, Milania has two.
Speaker 5 (44:45):
He's about to start. Mlania is back. She's not even
right there. The whole family is going to be then struggling.
Speaker 1 (44:52):
Right, So what was this is they go back to
pandemic protocol? Something?
Speaker 3 (44:56):
Is John Roberts afraid that that Trump's got a virus?
Speaker 6 (44:59):
What? No, but I do. I think it was just
a It was just a rush job.
Speaker 5 (45:05):
And so that's why that's why Trump forgot to put
his hand on the Bible.
Speaker 6 (45:08):
I don't think there's anything extra to it. But look
you can see.
Speaker 17 (45:10):
Raise your right hand and repeat after me. She's not
in there, John Trump, do solemnly swear.
Speaker 6 (45:16):
The rest of the families working their way up too.
Speaker 1 (45:19):
Yeah. Why does Roberts even have a Bible? Is the
first lady? Yeah, present has a Bible? Is that normal?
Speaker 6 (45:28):
I think that's normal.
Speaker 4 (45:29):
Yeah, it's normal. It's the first lady holds the Bible.
Speaker 6 (45:31):
I think that's normal.
Speaker 7 (45:32):
Yeah, she got to And and there's one is one
I think his mom gave him when he was young
and then there's another one and I can't remember it
maybe has Abraham Lincoln or something I can't remember, but anyway,
both historic bibles for for Trump.
Speaker 6 (45:47):
I think it's Chuck Norris's Bible, is what I heard.
Speaker 7 (45:49):
But instead of just saying how you do it, mister president,
because the vice president had already gone through his uh,
and I think Kavanaugh.
Speaker 1 (45:57):
Swore him in yes but uh.
Speaker 7 (45:59):
And then so John Roberts now here we go, would
just give them time because you got the whole family there.
You know, it's it's not easy access. So they're having
to excuse me, excuse me, and kind of slide down
the aisle. Yes, and the family is still trying to
get to him, and he's halfway through.
Speaker 6 (46:13):
The swearing in my goodness Robbers and.
Speaker 7 (46:15):
Wait, but you know me, I've got to focus on
other people. Look how close Kamala is to this.
Speaker 5 (46:21):
If Trump's got his hand in the air, if he
wanted to reach out and slap Biden, he could have.
Speaker 6 (46:25):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (46:26):
And the guy in the in the the kind of
mauve tie with the glasses on his nose, he makes
enough money to have better hair color than that orange.
Speaker 1 (46:36):
I don't please faithfully they're they're still trying to get
that home.
Speaker 6 (46:40):
They're all still working their way to It's just an
uncomfortable moment.
Speaker 5 (46:44):
Yeah, it's like doing the vows while the ring bearers
still walking down the aisle. My goodness, the flower girls
still handing out flowers.
Speaker 6 (46:52):
There's I do.
Speaker 18 (46:53):
Well.
Speaker 3 (46:53):
Let me just say this, I think all of us,
if we were in this situation, which is never going
to happen, I don't think any of us would.
Speaker 1 (46:59):
Be maybe might not have. Maybe there's get his credential.
Maybe maybe maybe there is.
Speaker 3 (47:08):
But if if Sherry Burgess was the first lady and
this was happening, and she has the Bible, she would
have come over and said, hey, hey, put your hand
on the Bible.
Speaker 4 (47:20):
I mean she would she would have.
Speaker 1 (47:21):
Fortunately, she would have.
Speaker 3 (47:22):
She would have moved over and said, hey, get your
hand on the Bible. She would have made sure that happened.
I don't think Milania knew what to do. I didn't
know the first lady holds the Bible. I've never heard
that before. The guy did y attitude. I thought that
that person says, place your hand on the Bible and
say after me.
Speaker 4 (47:37):
Why didn't John Roberts say that I don't know.
Speaker 1 (47:39):
They always do. I don't know why.
Speaker 4 (47:42):
And if we started doing that when we became Babylon,
what happened?
Speaker 6 (47:45):
I think so.
Speaker 7 (47:46):
And I think Milania wasn't sure what to do because
he had already started. So she's like, what do I
butt in and just slide the Bibles in front of him,
which I think probably she could have done or should
have done, but it had already started, so she.
Speaker 1 (47:57):
Didn't know what to do.
Speaker 7 (47:58):
Well, and you know, well so anyway, so that that
was our first uncomfortable moment. That's why we were already
asking on the text today, what do you think about
the fact that he didn't put his hand on the Bible.
Speaker 3 (48:08):
I didn't see that, so I didn't know. So now
I've just seen it for the first time.
Speaker 6 (48:11):
I think that explains it. Yeah, I think that right there.
Speaker 5 (48:13):
I don't think Trump was trying to say anything home,
something like a QAnon message to the Quanon people.
Speaker 3 (48:20):
Well, so I have a funny but I'm not going
to But some people say the people that were actually
narrating said that you're supposed to have the new president
sworn in by a certain time, and they were rushing.
Speaker 7 (48:32):
Well, then cut other things and but take your time
on that. We're talking half a second here, right.
Speaker 6 (48:36):
I think it will be fine.
Speaker 1 (48:38):
I still find that ten seconds to get everybody don't
know what stood there for ten minutes?
Speaker 6 (48:42):
Right right? That was a for two minutes of dead air?
What is watching?
Speaker 3 (48:47):
We're going to uncomfortably look at that next? And then
most of you warned us about Billy ray Cyrus. Thankfully
I haven't seen that. But but I don't understand why
Judge Roberts didn't say, place your hand on the Bible.
Has it become now because of all the ridiculous things
we've done involving faith in this country? Is it now
(49:07):
that that is up to the person? And now it's
bad form for the person to tell you to do that.
It's just up to you in case you don't want to.
Speaker 1 (49:14):
Is that what it is?
Speaker 9 (49:15):
Though?
Speaker 1 (49:15):
But you know, when Trump was standing up, I wouldn't
be surprised by that. His back is to his family,
so he can't see if they're behind right, Judge Roberts
is sitting there looking at him. He can say, in
common sense, oh, let me give them time to get
up here.
Speaker 6 (49:28):
Did Judge Roberts have a stomach cramp?
Speaker 5 (49:30):
He had to get out of there, like, what in
the world, My goodness, take.
Speaker 1 (49:33):
It easy, has nothing to do about time. Oh got
hurt and swear I'm in Give him ten seconds.
Speaker 6 (49:39):
Yes, we'll be right back.
Speaker 2 (49:43):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, God fearing and mar
They love it. Quote Rick Bridges Show.
Speaker 1 (50:04):
Yeah, every here, we gotta have that working our way back.
Speaker 3 (50:08):
Simply Safe has been with us for a long time.
They said, oh you endeavor, Birge. We're in so good
to have them with us. Simplysafe dot com slash big box.
Speaker 4 (50:24):
Now, let me tell you something.
Speaker 3 (50:26):
Safety right now more important than ever, and no one
does it better than Simply Safe.
Speaker 1 (50:32):
I mean their live guard protection.
Speaker 3 (50:34):
Guys, when I say live guard protection, do you understand
what I'm saying that When they're monitoring your property twenty
four to seven, the personal monitors, the person who's looking
at your property, can engage any good that walks up
on your Pridatey, Hey what are you doing here? We
see you and they can call help if help is needed,
(50:56):
for fire, for floods, carbon monoxide poisoning. Hey, we got
a carbon monoxide indicator here. I mean, and it's it's
happening live. That's why it's called live Guard, and right
now you can put all this to work for you
at fifty percent off a new system. Yeah, you go
ahead and do the professional monitoring plan that I mentioned.
(51:16):
You want that, okay, and then you get fifty percent
off in your first month of monitoring will be free
and even when you're paying for it, it's like a
dollar a day. So go to simplysafe dot com slash
big vox to get that fifty percent off, or just
go to Rickburgess show dot com and you can find
it other sponsors. There is no safe like simplysafe dot
(51:38):
com slash big vox. Okay, there you go, so looking
that there's all kinds of people chiming jd Vance. It
seems like they allowed him plenty of time to get
his family up there. He even says Kavanaugh let him
put his hand on the Bible and all that. Why
was the Trump thing rushed and jd Vance wasn't? It
really may be that there is there was still time.
(52:01):
Don't hear me say anything else. There really may be
something too. That the other administration ends at noon local time,
and they said they were a little bit past noon,
and that we were without a president for a few minutes,
and once Trump was sworn in, then jd.
Speaker 1 (52:18):
Vance has known without a president for two minutes.
Speaker 3 (52:21):
Yeah, guys, I'm simply trying to explain, though I agree
with everything you're saying. While one looked rushed and the
other didn't, that's all I'm trying to say.
Speaker 1 (52:31):
We didn't have a president for two minutes. I believe
we're gonna make it right.
Speaker 3 (52:34):
But I'm saying, if you ask, what's the reason, why
does one look rushed and the other doesn't, maybe that
is the answer.
Speaker 7 (52:40):
I just think Judge Roberts is a good and then
he didn't give them time enough.
Speaker 3 (52:43):
Well you saw that to get down there again, one
of his dog Again. I'm still not saying that he
shouldn't have allowed time. I'm saying maybe he didn't handle
the situation. He felt pressed.
Speaker 1 (52:54):
So let me get this right. You're scared because we
didn't have a president for too many.
Speaker 4 (52:59):
I couldn't, no, Gregor, we didn't have a president for
four years.
Speaker 1 (53:07):
We're going to issue today gone.
Speaker 4 (53:11):
Yeah, No, I was just fine.
Speaker 1 (53:15):
No, I wasn't. It was afraid. Holy moly, that was
sixty seconds.
Speaker 3 (53:19):
But anyway, you know, some of all things funny, it
was about ninety seconds. But no, the they're saying, unfortunately,
they're saying for our country that the Bible is not
a requirement for being sworn in, and now it's just
up to the individuals. And it's clear that Milania had
two Bibles that he was supposed to put his hand on.
(53:40):
If you see people are showing his pictures when he
was sworn in when he was forty five, his hand
is clearly on the Bible.
Speaker 1 (53:46):
But one of these was the art of the deal. Remember,
and Gregor had it opened up to two Corinthians.
Speaker 3 (53:56):
But it's obvious that Milania had two Bibles over there.
And I'm kind of it's own Roberts, but I'm telling
you she got spooke.
Speaker 4 (54:04):
Our wives would have said he hey, and they would
have moved.
Speaker 1 (54:07):
It up there and step up there.
Speaker 3 (54:08):
She should have got she should have been more aggressive
and said don't forget these bibles and him put his handle.
Speaker 1 (54:12):
But she had that head on. Couldn't say yes.
Speaker 3 (54:14):
I wouldn't read too much into that other than really
chaos created by them rushing.
Speaker 1 (54:19):
It because you see the family being ushered down. Yeah.
Speaker 6 (54:22):
Right, I have the beginning of JD. Vance's h or
what oath.
Speaker 5 (54:29):
Was he marrying, you raise your right hand and repeat
after me. I, James David Vance, do solemnly swear.
Speaker 1 (54:39):
James David Advance, do solemnly swear.
Speaker 5 (54:42):
So he gave us, he gave his family time to
get up there, and then here's the beg.
Speaker 1 (54:47):
We have a president. Now the ninety seconds is over.
Speaker 7 (54:50):
Well, by the way, Trump just stood up, Okay, I
don't think that Trump has been standing there for ten, fifteen,
twenty segments.
Speaker 1 (54:58):
He just stood up and Robert jumps right, this is
going to own you. Sp Somebody said that Roberts messed up.
Obama was swearing into yeah, like he can't get it.
By the way, they're saying, the guy that introduced everybody
the honorable whatever, I don't know if you can find
a d adler.
Speaker 3 (55:12):
I had more people saying please. This guy's got this
great voice, and he had a hard time. Sometimes words
don't go well together. But it sounded like he was
struggling saying honorable. I can't say, but he was supposed
to say the honorable Barack Obama and he couldn't get it.
He kept yeah, he kept he kept struggling with it,
and and some people are reading more into that.
Speaker 4 (55:32):
I think those two words just hard to say.
Speaker 5 (55:34):
Because always everybody are honorable. By the way, that is hard,
the honorable Chuck Shaw.
Speaker 6 (55:41):
I don't know about that.
Speaker 1 (55:42):
Well, you didn't have to say Michelle Obama because she
was an O show again. But he liket Roberts was
worried after that assassination attimpt. He didn't want to be
up there. Right, let's get this done. You you may
be all over that.
Speaker 13 (55:54):
Greg.
Speaker 4 (55:54):
I han't thought about that.
Speaker 3 (55:56):
By the way, By the way, Babylon be come on, now,
have you seen the one abline b's Michelle Obama?
Speaker 4 (56:01):
Let me come on, let me tell you they don't
They did this one just for Greg.
Speaker 1 (56:07):
Rememors appear to be true that Michelle and Barack are
are separating because Barack just found out she actually is
a woman. Okay, so so that that that that's not
Have you heard the Jennifer Aniston Obama that what was
it you that told me that it was?
Speaker 3 (56:25):
It was a story that Greg let's meet on Barack's dress,
that he said the're just friends.
Speaker 1 (56:31):
On fire today. I'm not gonna make it. Yeah, okay, all.
Speaker 17 (56:40):
Roberts rushing it, please raise your right hand and repeat
after me, Donald, come back, come back, go back.
Speaker 1 (56:47):
Look jd Vance looks.
Speaker 8 (56:49):
Look.
Speaker 1 (56:49):
Jd Vance picks up on it. He looks over and
your right hand and repeat. He's trying to Yeah, he's
waving her ago.
Speaker 17 (56:58):
Your right hand and repeat after me. I Donald John Trump.
Speaker 6 (57:02):
And the rest of the family is still having a walk.
Speaker 18 (57:04):
Is going on?
Speaker 1 (57:05):
There comes freakish execute execute.
Speaker 17 (57:11):
The office of President of the United States.
Speaker 1 (57:13):
The office of President. Surprise there and will it's been
helping one of the daughters bright, which I thought that
was very kind. That was I thought smelling her hair
was over the line. You gotta go. Was it the
breakfast like it was? I've never been fed that soon?
(57:36):
But I got a word you crash there? Keep eating
all right?
Speaker 6 (57:44):
I have the in studio, our reaction.
Speaker 5 (57:47):
The wait stopped at the break Yeah, yeah, next if
you guys want it, ye speedy freaking out because it's
been fifteen seconds.
Speaker 15 (57:58):
Did you get that?
Speaker 5 (57:59):
I started filming fifteen seconds into the dead air before Carrie.
Speaker 6 (58:02):
Under was just the world is just wait. What a
bad moment, and so I've got that.
Speaker 1 (58:06):
I'mcked out. I don't even know what I did, but
speeding when you went over, I guess we'll see it
and start shooting back to the ball. Now what do
you do? It was like, like, goodness, she's a pro. Yea,
we underwent moment. Also Billy Ray Cyrus, they're back. He
see that.
Speaker 6 (58:22):
I can't was the audio is real on the Billy
Ray Sirris.
Speaker 5 (58:25):
I thought somebody like jokingly went in and.
Speaker 9 (58:27):
Was like.
Speaker 1 (58:29):
For some reason, Greg stood up again and he does that.
We'll be right back.
Speaker 2 (58:38):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. Three cities, three powerful weekends,
the Men church conferences, worship, challenge, discipleship and fellowship all
in one life changing weekend.
Speaker 1 (58:59):

Speaker 1 (59:09):
You got it Baby Birmingham this weekend Fired up. If
you see Greg wondering the parking lot looking for his
all access pass.
Speaker 3 (59:16):
Put him in your group and let him come with you.
All right, so we have the moment yesterday. I know, buddy,
so I don't know what I did. Speedy, you know,
has secondhand embarrassment.
Speaker 1 (59:30):
You were upset, But it.
Speaker 3 (59:32):
Also seems to be that for Speedy if it involves
an event where he then unfortunately vicariously will put himself
in the place of the handlers, and you begin to
take on their stress. Yesterday, Carrie Underwood, remember she took
all the heat about she was going to sing at
(59:52):
Trump's inauguration. Some people now think that the music may
have been tampered with by Joy Bayhart.
Speaker 4 (01:00:00):
Ah that she did. She was so mad about it.
Speaker 3 (01:00:03):
So Carrie Underwood, it's obvious she's waiting on a track
of the music for her to sing with this choir.
Which one is it? America beautiful? Is that what you're singing? Yeah,
God bless America?
Speaker 4 (01:00:14):
Which one?
Speaker 1 (01:00:15):
I can't remember.
Speaker 3 (01:00:16):
So so anyway, she's going to sing this, But everybody
begins to realize and apparently a rushed inauguration. Uh, they
can't get the music to work, and you're gonna watch
us a speedy sounds like they're.
Speaker 1 (01:00:32):
Giving an attempt, but it was the wrong track. Yes,
I did hear. You're right?
Speaker 3 (01:00:37):
So here here, here, here are the guys watching this
in real time yesterday?
Speaker 1 (01:00:42):
What is going on? Why won't they do something? Just somebody?
Speaker 19 (01:00:45):
Trump's just standing there with car He Underwood to sing,
if you make it, yes, a moment of silence or something.
Speaker 1 (01:00:56):
No, what are we doing?
Speaker 6 (01:01:02):
I can't believe it.
Speaker 5 (01:01:03):
The whole world is watching.
Speaker 1 (01:01:15):
She said, let me have my brother. None of them
look real.
Speaker 18 (01:01:21):
You don't.
Speaker 3 (01:01:22):
I'm sorry we're talking about this moment when mister rude Tourette's.
They don't still still gets in what she done her
lips lips and a nice looking person, and I don't
know why she messed with lips up.
Speaker 1 (01:01:37):
That's your takeaway from this? From all that, yeah, I
don't get it. Would you do that? Let me give
advice to all you celebrities and even normal people. Even
normal people, I don't think they've they've got the lip
thing down pat yet, I've never really seen a really
good display of that. Here she so nobody's got it right. No,
(01:01:58):
but again, that's what you got out of that is
just part of it.
Speaker 4 (01:02:01):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (01:02:02):
By the way, I want you to look at every
Speedy's freaking out. You see, I'm looking like you're making
me uncomfortable, and all this ad is trying to figure
it out.
Speaker 1 (01:02:09):
Greg looks at the camera, says, she mashed her lips up.
I don't ever get that right. I mean, let me
check her lap. I haven't looked at her lip.
Speaker 5 (01:02:17):
Here she goes, uh, and here she is saying, I'll
just sing it in the in the awkward.
Speaker 1 (01:02:21):
Moment, Okay, okay, Bill Clinton, I'll just sing it.
Speaker 6 (01:02:26):
She's a pro, Greg, she is, you know the words,
helping me out here?
Speaker 1 (01:02:30):
Oh, that's it. Tries to help her? What?
Speaker 4 (01:02:35):
Oh my goodness, Joe for.
Speaker 1 (01:02:39):
In all fairness, Joe thinks it's a sing a Bill
Clinton singing.
Speaker 6 (01:02:46):
Tamala is not singing.
Speaker 1 (01:02:47):
No, Kamala still hasn't figured out she's a bad candidate.
Speaker 6 (01:02:55):
Everybody's singing along.
Speaker 15 (01:02:57):
Greg.
Speaker 6 (01:02:57):
It's a better moment.
Speaker 1 (01:02:59):
Look at Joe.
Speaker 6 (01:03:01):
Hillary's singing.
Speaker 1 (01:03:04):
Am All don't know what to do.
Speaker 6 (01:03:05):
M Hoff is singing.
Speaker 4 (01:03:08):
But he's in trouble for singing when he gets home.
Speaker 1 (01:03:10):
Right, that's the Capital One arena. Yeah, the whole arena
full of pin That's where Brian Dawson is. Uh, kamalas
spitting inside?
Speaker 20 (01:03:28):
What a pro?
Speaker 1 (01:03:30):
What a pro?
Speaker 4 (01:03:31):
Okay that was that?
Speaker 1 (01:03:32):
You just said? I got this? Okay, No, I'm just
making a point.
Speaker 3 (01:03:41):
Somebody said, keeping on Clinton, if you go, if you
keep going, ass, Carrie Underwood walks by. I'll tell you
one thing, America is not the only thing. He's beautiful are.
Speaker 1 (01:03:57):
Suddenly he woke up a space skies. Indeed, what happened
last one? Yeah, Greg, everybody said that Carry that ain't
That wasn't that was a different part of her face.
All right, Greg, will not receive the facial injury that
Carry prepared.
Speaker 4 (01:04:15):
He says, it's still the lips.
Speaker 1 (01:04:16):
Okay, all right, So I don't know why you do that?
Speaker 18 (01:04:23):
Now?
Speaker 1 (01:04:23):
This what about her performing?
Speaker 3 (01:04:25):
This is not Let me tell you of all the
people that are commenting on Carrie Underwood's music didn't work
and she sang at acapella, there's so many people commenting
on it, Greg.
Speaker 1 (01:04:32):
You're the only one. You're the only one that's that
is word. What's wrong with her lips? Okay?
Speaker 3 (01:04:39):
Yeah, okay, okay, Carry under what to perform new original song?
Donald take the Wheel, the Trump and.
Speaker 1 (01:04:46):
That one before It's funny, good job Carry even though
he hates to buy America and you were beautiful?
Speaker 4 (01:04:54):
Okay, So, Billy Ray, do we go here?
Speaker 1 (01:04:56):
Now? Do we go to the other end of the fact?
Speaker 6 (01:04:59):
Do we leave the car?
Speaker 3 (01:05:00):
Do we leave the carry Underwood moment saying uncomfortable, very uncomfortable.
Speaker 4 (01:05:06):
She pulled it off. We're good.
Speaker 6 (01:05:08):
It was so long? Did the dead air before.
Speaker 1 (01:05:13):
Long?
Speaker 6 (01:05:13):
He recovered very well.
Speaker 1 (01:05:15):
Who was in charge of the music, because that's not accepting.
I don't Yeah, how you can't mess that up? We can? We?
I mean the Bible up there, I get that, But
I mean who didn't have.
Speaker 7 (01:05:25):
To mean they started the wrong track then simply scroll
down hit the next one. So there had to be
a total like the system failed or something turned off.
Speaker 6 (01:05:34):
Well, we played that that.
Speaker 5 (01:05:35):
We played that clip from the Village People at Trump's
rally from the night before. Do y'all remember there was
about four seconds of the right person. So maybe it's
Trump's DJ. Trump needs a new DJ.
Speaker 3 (01:05:47):
He may make America great, but he has He's pick
of DJ was not great.
Speaker 13 (01:05:50):
Now.
Speaker 6 (01:05:50):
He needs Calvin's Playhouse.
Speaker 1 (01:05:52):
He really did. And I'm not going backwards on the
story we did yesterday. Ever explained to me why the
village people. No, No, I don't know.
Speaker 6 (01:05:59):
It's a Mayora great. It is America. It's roller skating
rinks when I was a kid, That's what it is.
And if you don't like that, you don't like America.
I hope a bald eagle attacks you today.
Speaker 4 (01:06:11):
Is there anything more patriotic than the village people? Yes,
many things, many things yeah, nothing.
Speaker 1 (01:06:21):
Lee Green would take that.
Speaker 7 (01:06:22):
Now, there's a there's a story in Daily Mail where
Carrie Underwood after it was over, she had a little
hissy fit and told some folks, you know, she felt
she should have been mad. I don't know if that's true.
I just know that at some point you you have
to take the wheel, and she did, you know, I
mean at some point? Yeah, because I mean it was
so awkward, y'all. Well, how long do you think, realistically,
(01:06:45):
no exaggeration, was it over a minute?
Speaker 5 (01:06:48):
It felt like two minutes. So I'm gonna guess it
was a minute and a half because it felt like
two minutes.
Speaker 1 (01:06:53):
It was so long. People are looking around like what
are we doing? All right? So if she was mad
about it, she should have been yeah, Oh yeah, she
should have been mad about it.
Speaker 7 (01:07:01):
And to me, you said, you all right, do you
think it was a really good idea to have John
Roberts swearing the president and run the sound.
Speaker 3 (01:07:12):
It's a place I'll never keep It's not it's by
the way. If y'all haven't seen this, George W. Bush,
have you seen the whole thing?
Speaker 21 (01:07:20):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:07:20):
People keep doing different things under it. He gets tickled
with himself and nobody knows what's going on.
Speaker 1 (01:07:26):
What one person said, what happens when when you take
one of those edible you know, gummies, and you're in
a room and your your paranoid about it.
Speaker 4 (01:07:35):
But not just the free shot.
Speaker 1 (01:07:36):
You got to see the video where he gets he
starts doing, and the people are putting various things under it.
This one was this is when you rip a solid
one and you're waiting on it. George W. Bushell is
like he's just cutting up, hanging out.
Speaker 5 (01:07:50):
So Trump's very first words, well, the opening of his
speech I thought was great.
Speaker 6 (01:07:56):
It's four seconds long.
Speaker 1 (01:07:57):
All right, the Golden Age of America begins right now.
Speaker 4 (01:08:03):
Amen, I'll take some of that.
Speaker 1 (01:08:06):
That sounds good to me.
Speaker 3 (01:08:07):
At one point, I like, how were delaying Billy Ray
Cyris and I think that's good.
Speaker 1 (01:08:11):
Well, I need a breather.
Speaker 6 (01:08:12):
We're protecting ourself.
Speaker 7 (01:08:13):
At one point we were wondering if Trump was just
going to look to his left and go, I'm going
to fix everything that they did, everything.
Speaker 1 (01:08:20):
That was bad, and the looks on their face while
he was doing it. You know what, it reminded me of.
Speaker 3 (01:08:25):
It reminded me of remember that that horrible you know
how you love socially awkward moments, speedy. When I was
lambasting your team, I had taken over and I was
talking about I don't know who any world has been
coaching y'all, and who any world told y'all to do this,
and who any world did this.
Speaker 1 (01:08:43):
I don't know who did this and did that. I'll
tell you one thing. And all of a sudden, the
guy behind the chain link fences, that's me and the
and the coach of the team the year before was
over there, and I didn't know it.
Speaker 3 (01:08:54):
And it felt like like the new like a new
coach had showed up, and he's talking about the horrible
state of the program and all the terrible things the
other coach did while the coaches, the former coach is
sitting in the room. I mean it was of course
he he doesn't care because the things they've said about him.
They need to just sit there and take it. Yeah,
(01:09:15):
we'll continue the inauguration.
Speaker 1 (01:09:17):
Look back.
Speaker 3 (01:09:17):
We'll get some of your phone calls on it too
later eight eight eight six, big box heady standing up here.
Speaker 1 (01:09:24):
We'll be right back.
Speaker 2 (01:09:26):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, only in America. Because
these four men do this for a living God bless America.
This is the Wick Burger Show.
Speaker 1 (01:09:52):
All right, we're back, thanks for being with us today.
Speaker 8 (01:09:55):
Where all right?
Speaker 3 (01:09:59):
So, and as we're moving, SPAN will have the latest
on the winter weather that is running along the Gulf coast.
How far north will she creep? We shall see. It
is interesting this is usually the time of the year
that a lot of those places are saying, come see us,
get away from winter.
Speaker 1 (01:10:20):
Not today and not tomorrow.
Speaker 3 (01:10:22):
So we'll talk with SPAN about that coming up here shortly.
Speaker 1 (01:10:26):
All right.
Speaker 3 (01:10:26):
So a lot of things that By the way, this
is funny too. Somebody keeps telling us right in the
middle of c SPAN's coverage of the inauguration, they're taking
phone calls from America and a person calls in and
complains about Alabama being left out.
Speaker 1 (01:10:40):
Of the playoffs.
Speaker 3 (01:10:41):
Oh god ley, y'all, if we could find that that
does not surprise me in the least, and that is hilarious.
Speaker 4 (01:10:50):
All right, So here we go.
Speaker 6 (01:10:51):
That's clip two. If you guys want that right now, honestly, are.
Speaker 4 (01:10:54):
You serious here?
Speaker 1 (01:10:56):
It is?
Speaker 4 (01:10:56):
You do have it? Sorry, you can tell I've looked
at this.
Speaker 3 (01:11:00):
All right, So let's have the caller call Sea SPAN
because everybody's texting about it. Mad that Alabama's not in
the College Playoff Here, they were.
Speaker 6 (01:11:08):
Just tasting this is live on Sea.
Speaker 21 (01:11:11):
Span a little bit more disappointed in the selection of
many for not picking Alabama for the College Football Playoff
finals and said picking Fear in Fear teams like SMU
and Indiana truly dark times in America.
Speaker 1 (01:11:22):
Okay, So I would have thought it would have been
Dicky Nadmire, but it sounds like it was one of
his sons. It was Willie Hey Span, I'll tell you
what's wrong with America when Bama's not in the twelve
A road tade in road Trump. So all right, So
I like how we all keep trying to put off
(01:11:43):
Billy ray Ciris. I just feel bad since him and
fire Rows broke up.
Speaker 6 (01:11:49):
Greg and I thought it was love.
Speaker 1 (01:11:52):
I hadn't watched his look you got going. Let me
say this that Adler thought it was not real. That's
how bad it apparently it is. Okay, we'll take my
horse old town road?
Speaker 22 (01:12:07):
Go?
Speaker 1 (01:12:10):
Was that Billy I'm gonna take my horse to the
old town road? I'm going?
Speaker 6 (01:12:16):
Is he horse?
Speaker 1 (01:12:16):
I mean, don't take my holls to the old town road.
I'm going.
Speaker 22 (01:12:24):
I can't No, mo, y'all could put your hands together
now like that.
Speaker 1 (01:12:28):
He told me to kill as much time as possible.
Speaker 4 (01:12:34):
So he's killing town.
Speaker 1 (01:12:36):
I know the words that you break your heart?
Speaker 6 (01:12:38):
Well, man, yo, this is real.
Speaker 4 (01:12:41):
This is not.
Speaker 1 (01:12:43):
I tried a little bit. Let's see what is this
doesn't even sound like Billy Ray I know? Is it
George greg What do you think about his lips? WoT
still on? I think they cut me off?
Speaker 6 (01:12:58):
This is real?
Speaker 1 (01:13:00):
Where is this?
Speaker 9 (01:13:01):
This?
Speaker 13 (01:13:01):
Like?
Speaker 1 (01:13:01):
What is he at?
Speaker 6 (01:13:02):
This is at the Liberty Ball?
Speaker 1 (01:13:07):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (01:13:09):
This is anybody awake?
Speaker 1 (01:13:10):
Wait, he doesn't have his guitar? Do you all hear this? No, Speedy,
I'm sorry, that's handling this. It's the same person sound
for anyone back there. Oh that's that's got to be helpful.
He turned my guitar back on. We're going to singing
a little bit more. I'm like to the end?
Speaker 4 (01:13:34):
Did they turn it on?
Speaker 6 (01:13:35):
I can't watch anymore.
Speaker 3 (01:13:36):
I don't know, Speedy, I didn't know this was the
rampant yesterday? Who hired the sound people for anything Trump yesterday?
Speaker 6 (01:13:43):
Make DJs great again?
Speaker 4 (01:13:46):
And why is he asking in the back way? Is
there no sound out?
Speaker 1 (01:13:50):
Front. What's going on? I'm so disappointed. I wanted to
hear a you break you hard? Now I don't tell
I love y'all.
Speaker 5 (01:13:56):
Okay, I found more footage, and now the guitar tech
comes out and he's like, your guitar messed up?
Speaker 6 (01:14:00):
Buddy, you haven't screened this for language.
Speaker 4 (01:14:04):
It took some time to get out there.
Speaker 6 (01:14:06):
My goodness? Does he ever?
Speaker 22 (01:14:09):
Oh, let's see I can try like this.
Speaker 1 (01:14:12):
I mean after what carry underwood?
Speaker 13 (01:14:14):
Did today?
Speaker 1 (01:14:15):
Carry underwood? Fabulous? Yes, carry underwood? Somebody? What's the state
of miny race Horris.
Speaker 22 (01:14:23):
They have technical difficulties too, I know who God life
when you have technical difficulties.
Speaker 1 (01:14:32):
This isn't going to keep going. This isn't happening. This
isn't happening. Or as President Trump would say, you gotta fight.
Speaker 4 (01:14:40):
Oh he's really even great.
Speaker 1 (01:14:42):
I just get U comfortable than this is President Trump.
Speaker 3 (01:14:49):
Oh, this is not what we were looking for. He's
he is. He's dying out there.
Speaker 6 (01:14:54):
Absolutely dying.
Speaker 3 (01:14:56):
What y'all are feeling is that we now have a
backup guitar tech. Now we got an other guy coming out.
Speaker 7 (01:15:01):
Good gracious, just play some house music and go backstage.
Speaker 1 (01:15:06):
But it ain't playing, man.
Speaker 22 (01:15:07):
Oh my goodness, I am you know what?
Speaker 1 (01:15:11):
Hell, just snap your fingers. That's okay, but that's okay here,
just take it with its happening. By the way, is
this on Billy Ray? Is his guitar the problem? They
keep going to it, and it must be Is he
about to sing?
Speaker 6 (01:15:25):
Goodness?
Speaker 4 (01:15:26):
Is he about to sing?
Speaker 22 (01:15:27):
I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:15:29):
What do we do? I must warn you the world.
Speaker 22 (01:15:35):
You can burn my clothes off when I'm gone, or
you can tell you he's gonna sing and laughing joke
about me on the phone.
Speaker 1 (01:15:48):
Make you somebody helps me. It's even bothering greg Or
you can tell a sober man can't do that.
Speaker 22 (01:15:57):
You can tell the fingers okay, I can't.
Speaker 1 (01:16:04):
He's just talking.
Speaker 22 (01:16:05):
He just don't tell my heart could break your here.
I just don't thank.
Speaker 1 (01:16:11):
You do He's still there's a lot of heart at
the celebration of Trump going back in.
Speaker 22 (01:16:19):
He might blow up and kill this fan.
Speaker 1 (01:16:23):
Mm hmm that's good. Yeah, I'm sad. He's got cotton
mouth too.
Speaker 6 (01:16:31):
I'm sad right now. I'm sad right now.
Speaker 3 (01:16:35):
People are texting this is what? This is what I think.
This one knocked down so many barriers. Yeah, there's people saying,
so this is what speeds.
Speaker 1 (01:16:42):
Yeah, you're feeling right now, this is it, this is it,
and it's not which finally happened. Look at me, I'm
even sitting in I can't change.
Speaker 7 (01:16:48):
Do you notice how you can't? You don't know what
to do with your body. That's what I'm saying that I.
Speaker 1 (01:16:52):
Don't he need to say thank you, good night and
step by the way. What what I would have just'all
enjoy yourself.
Speaker 3 (01:16:58):
Well he'll be Hey, guys, obviously we have some technical difficulty.
Speaker 4 (01:17:01):
I sure have been an honor it.
Speaker 1 (01:17:02):
There has been an honor to be here. And I'm
just so excited about Trump, you know, back in charge,
and God bless America and we go, we'll get started in.
Speaker 23 (01:17:10):
This a minute.
Speaker 1 (01:17:11):
We came about your health, thank you. I mean I
would have crazy. That was just an old town road.
That's not good.
Speaker 3 (01:17:19):
There were so many things wrong with all that. And uh,
when did how did he? First of all, how did
Billy reag get put in the position of somebody saying
kill time?
Speaker 6 (01:17:28):
How is he killing time? He's not a time.
Speaker 5 (01:17:32):
Killing right, He's an American institution.
Speaker 1 (01:17:36):
Well, well, yeah, looking to get us out of this.
Speaker 6 (01:17:40):
Can we watch theo Vonne fall in a chair during
the actual.
Speaker 5 (01:17:43):
Yeah, I'm hurting on time, so this would be like us.
Speaker 6 (01:17:48):
We would be you know, the goofballs and suits that
don't fit well in the back, and then our chair
would break.
Speaker 1 (01:17:53):
So okay, got it happens.
Speaker 4 (01:18:05):
I'm not kidding.
Speaker 1 (01:18:06):
My left eyes twitch, I know, all right.
Speaker 3 (01:18:08):
So if you want to know about the winter weather
and it's current track, ain't nobody better than James Fan.
Speaker 1 (01:18:15):
You don't get any better now, thank you great bind.
Speaker 3 (01:18:18):
So James Span will be with us when we come back.
It's top of the hour.
Speaker 2 (01:18:24):
This is the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 1 (01:18:38):
You better listen up. You know, like we say, loss,
I'm in a name. You gotta find.
Speaker 2 (01:18:53):
The voice of reason in an unreasonable world, The Rick
Burchers Show.
Speaker 1 (01:18:59):
Baby, thank you for being with us. It is a
brand new hour. We've covered a lot today.
Speaker 3 (01:19:04):
We've been in auguration, pretty good, college football, playoff hit
that pretty good if you missed that catch out in
the Daily Archives. And all you got to do is
go grab those at Rick burgesshow dot com, on our
podcast channel or on our YouTube channel.
Speaker 1 (01:19:21):
Best of hour for Blaze TV every day. So we've
got Speedy, we got Greg, we got an Adler, and
I know what a lot of you are wondering, what
about winter weather? Well, James span is the man with
the plan and he is standing by and ready to go.
Speaker 2 (01:19:40):
So what's up with the weather. Here with the latest,
Here is meteorologist James Spad.
Speaker 4 (01:19:48):
James, tell us all about it, buddy.
Speaker 24 (01:19:50):
So I I guess the best thing to do at
this point is just to kind of look out the window.
You know, leading up to an event, we look at
computer models. Well, now that the event is happening, you
can see what's going on. This is Houston for those
that are watching on the video side. It's snowing in Houston.
It's snowing in Lake Charles, Louisiana, Lafayette, Louisiana. They're all
under a winter storm warning and that snow is headed
(01:20:14):
eastward today. That will be moving into the southern part
of Mississippi, the southern part of Alabama, and this could
be a pretty historic snowstorm intact.
Speaker 1 (01:20:21):
I got to tell you guys, I don't.
Speaker 24 (01:20:22):
Know if I've ever seen a blizzard warning for Lake Charles,
Louisiana and Beaumont, Texas, but we have one. This morning Lafayette,
Louisiana blizzard warning. Wow, that's for winds gusting to thirty
five miles an hour, reducing visibility in heavy snow. So
that's the kind of system we're dealing with here today
and again, the winter storm mornings stretch all the way
(01:20:44):
from the southern tip of Texas the Lower Rio Grand
over to Houston, Lake Charles, New Orleans, Gulfport, Mobile, Montgomery, Dothan, Tallahassee,
Panama City, Beach, Macon, Charleston, and the outer banks of
North Carolina. It's a classic Gulf Coast runner. And on
the northern flank of all of this, the ear is
just bone dry, and a lot of you are opening
(01:21:06):
up your radar apps and you're seeing just snow all
over the place. But keep in mind a lot of
what you see is not reaching the ground over the
northern parts of Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama. But we're going
to see some big time numbers for this. We're looking
at potential snow amounts in the five six seven inch
range and a few spots along the Gulf Coast over
(01:21:28):
the next twenty four hours. Some of the modeling we're
seeing here showing four inches. For Mobile, this will be
the most snow they have seen since nineteen seventy three
and approaching the all time record snow that occurred back
in the late eighteen hundreds. Dothan, Alabama could see four
or five inches of snow easily, Maryanna, Florida could see
six to seven inches. Destined Fort Walton Beach could see
(01:21:52):
four to five inches. I'm telling you, guys, this is
going to be one for the record books, and that'll
be stretching on into the northeast. And obviously, with this
very cold Arctic air in place, it's not going to
take long for the snow to get on the roads
and the bridges and the travel is going to be
all boogered up in these Winter Store Morning areas. And again,
the Winter Store Mornings cover South Louisiana, South Mississippi, and
(01:22:12):
South Alabama, South Georgia, Central Georgia, parts of southern South Carolina.
On the northern flank of the Winter Store Mornings, we
have these winter weather advisories and that's where there could
be some light accumulation. And the one thing I just
wanted to mention here, fellas, is that in a cold
air mass like this, keep in mind many spots were
(01:22:34):
down in the teen low teens this morning. We can
see just a tenth of an inch of snow a
quarter of an inch, and I've seen it so many
times over the years. It makes the roads pretty rough. Now,
this will not be a flash freeze like the Snowmageddon
event in twenty fourteen. With that, the ground was warm,
the snow melted, everything turned to ice. The snow is
(01:22:54):
not going to melt. The ground is cold, so it's
going to be snow. But even with that could be
pretty tricky. And those winter weather advisories are almost almost
up to Interstate twenty in Louisiana, Mississippi, and Alabama, and
they do include the Atlanta metro in Georgia and in
South Carolina includes Columbia. So just be aware. This is
(01:23:15):
going to be a snowstorm for the books. We cannot
wait to see the cameras today coming in from places
like Orange Beach, Golf Shores, Pensacola Beach, Navarre, Fort Walt,
and Destin. It's going to be one for the books, fellas.
I can't wait to see what it looks like with
snow on the beach today.
Speaker 1 (01:23:31):
Blizzard beaches.
Speaker 3 (01:23:32):
Yeah, and you know you'll have to get people that
live there descend it to you, because the Chamber of
Commerce will not touch this with a ten foot pole,
because you know, they always tell you to come there
during the winter, So this one won't serve that very
well today, will it.
Speaker 1 (01:23:46):
No.
Speaker 24 (01:23:46):
No, the snowbirds typically come to these beaches to get
away from this and not to get in the middle
of it. But yeah, and again I've been doing this
a long time. The blizzard of ninety three that produce
a few inches of snow near the Gulf coast, but
really not as much as what we're expecting today. This
should produce more snow for the Gulf Coast, the immediate
(01:24:08):
coast than the blizzard of ninety three. Wow, which to
me is pretty fascinating. That this will not reach as
far inland as ninety three, and obviously it'll be a
different type storm, but still it's it's going to be
one that will be talked about for a long time.
Speaker 3 (01:24:22):
So James, let's talk about the things that can be dangerous.
The roads were you were clear on that, and there's
just no there's no gain in chancing it. The other
is people with these temperatures, you know you're saying, because
it looks like this is going to be snow. Usually
in greg course work for the Southern Company for a
(01:24:43):
long time, which is one of the groups that handles
the power. Hopefully this would not be something that would
be difficult for power lines and things like.
Speaker 24 (01:24:52):
That, like a like a wet ice would be yes, no, yeah,
you're right. And again, freezing rain is what creates power.
Freezing rain, it's liquid, it's raining, and it's way below
thirty two that coats everything with ice, and there's evidence
of some of that over South Georgia and North Florida.
(01:25:12):
This coulda fit places like Valdosta, Jacksonville, Savannah. Those are
the cities with the better chance of some freezing rain
in the mix. Still, they're going to see some snow,
no doubt. But there might be a tenth of an
inch of ice in some of those places Valdosta down
to Lake City, back over towards Jacksonville, and maybe up
toward Brunswick, and that could knock out some power. And
(01:25:34):
when it comes to power outages, that's the greatest concern
for pretty much everybody else. It's all snow and unless
you have the really heavy, heavy wet snow, you don't
have a lot of power outages, and with this I
don't think that'll be a major problem. But again, the
greatest concern for loss of power it's South Georgia and
that part of North Florida around Jacksonville back over to
Lake City. But the other thing too, Rick, you mentioned this,
(01:25:56):
and it's true. This air is pretty cold again. And
I would imagine most people listening to the show they
have an adequate source of heat, but not everybody does.
And you know, if you know somebody, an elderly person
or just somebody that might be struggling and they don't
have a warm place, can get them into something tonight,
because tomorrow morning will be the coldest morning of this
whole cold snap for the southern US. We're going to
(01:26:19):
see single digit lows over Tennessee, Arkansas, North Mississippi, North Alabama,
North Georgia, and we're going to see temperatures where the
snow covers down down in South Alabama, down in the
ten to fifteen degree range tomorrow morning. And it doesn't
get in the ten to fifteen degree range that often
and Mobile and Pensacola, New Orleans, Biloxi. So if you
know somebody that just doesn't have an adequate source of heat.
(01:26:40):
Just try and step in and help as best you can.
Speaker 1 (01:26:42):
Hi, little SPF.
Speaker 3 (01:26:44):
You know, we're right on the line where we live.
Those that don't know this would do the show from Birmingham, Alabama.
So we're right on the line. We brought our stuff.
I know we're not going to get a lot. I
think you feel pretty confident about that. But is it
possible to get enough that travel could could be any
any kind of issue.
Speaker 18 (01:27:03):
Yeah.
Speaker 24 (01:27:04):
The hardest part of this, and what's odd, it's defining
the northern extent of the snow. Typically the hardest part
it's defining the southern extent. But in this case, it's
defining the northern extent of the snow. And at twenty
in Alabama, it is so stinking close. And again, if
we get a tenth of an inch of snow, all
(01:27:24):
it takes is a couple of knuckleheads spinning out and
everything gets all sideways and it goes down the tubes fast.
Right now, there are no advisories for Jefferson County, Tuscaloosa,
Saint Clair. There is an advisory for Shelby, and that's
the one where you guys are broadcasting.
Speaker 1 (01:27:40):
We're on the northern end of that.
Speaker 24 (01:27:42):
Yeah, yeah, And so it's an hour by hour thing.
And just watch radar trends and watch the reports and
watch the photos and you'll know. And again everybody has
to take some personal responsibility obviously when you see this
stuff happening. But it's a very very close call for
the Birmingham Metro. But in theory the worst of the
(01:28:03):
problem should be south.
Speaker 1 (01:28:04):
Of the Birmingham Metro today.
Speaker 24 (01:28:06):
But again you've got to watch the radar trends, keep
your head on a swivel.
Speaker 3 (01:28:10):
So you're saying the camaro that still has the primer
on it, that will come out and see if they
can drive in it. Other than that, you know, if
we wouldn't have that, we might be okay.
Speaker 1 (01:28:19):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, that's about it.
Speaker 24 (01:28:21):
There's always a knucklehead on every road somewhere that's gonna just.
Speaker 2 (01:28:26):
Hey, hey man, it's snowing.
Speaker 1 (01:28:27):
Let's see how fast I can go. It doesn't end
well in most cases.
Speaker 3 (01:28:33):
Hey, thank you for being available. I know you're busy.
I appreciate that a lot.
Speaker 1 (01:28:36):
About Thanks guys. You'll have a great day. You should
be warm. Yeah, there it is.
Speaker 3 (01:28:39):
James Span the calming voice of weather. So wherever you are,
and usually, like we said yesterday, those of you that
are getting a pile of it today are you're normally
the people that James says is all clear, but you're
getting the brunt of it this time. So just enjoy
it and stay safe.
Speaker 1 (01:28:55):
We'll be back.
Speaker 2 (01:28:57):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, still denying any involvement
(01:29:23):
in the food fights of nineteen seventy nine.
Speaker 3 (01:29:26):
Rick Burgess, here we go, twenty two minutes past. The
Rick Burgers Show is in full swing and we're rolling
and thank you for being with us. We've covered a
lot today and we'll get some photos in.
Speaker 1 (01:29:44):
Hearing a bite read out you.
Speaker 3 (01:29:48):
So the inauguration yesterday, we have hit a few highlights. Yes,
we've talked about Carrie Underwood. Yes, we've talked about John
Roberts rushing, the swearing in the Bible, Billy ray Cyrus
clearly high.
Speaker 4 (01:30:03):
Uh and sick or something. I don't know what that was.
Speaker 9 (01:30:07):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (01:30:08):
Some of us literally have hives breaking down our skin
after watching that. So there's some other ones that we've hit,
and then we'll get to some of your phone calls
coming up. We'll run those down here shortly. I do
want to point you in the direction of, you know,
a product that has been a gamer and some of you,
probably if you're really savvy, uh, and you've been with
us a while, you're already saying, he's gonna talk about
(01:30:30):
Philde Greens and you're right, I am, uh and we
are just we we love this product, uh, and it
gives the nutrition that are that our bodies crave. And
there's so many reasons. I mean, you'd want your vital
organs to be getting the fuel uh that they were
designed to run the best on. I mean it would
be like you know, you know what happens when you
(01:30:52):
take a gasoline automobile and put diesel in it.
Speaker 4 (01:30:56):
Or vice versa. It didn't run.
Speaker 3 (01:30:58):
So there there is fuel that our body needs to
run properly. But it's real hard to do that in
your daily diet. And sometimes it's face that we mess up.
I mean, maybe you buddy Jack comes by and brings breakfast,
maybe he's got a few items in there that are not.
Speaker 1 (01:31:12):
The best for you.
Speaker 3 (01:31:14):
Okay, So but but I know that I've got field
of Greens, so I'm getting the nutrition that my body craves.
Speaker 4 (01:31:21):
And I'm telling you, I see.
Speaker 3 (01:31:22):
A huge difference, especially with my immune system, because you know,
every time you turn around it seems like somebody sick.
So so why don't you go right now to Fieldofgreens
dot com. And people ask me all the time, what
are some things you can mix it with them? Orange
juice is a winner. And if you're worried about the sugar,
I know that some of the brands have a light
version with less sugar in orange juice. But orange juice
(01:31:43):
works perfectly. If you do a protein shake or something
like that, that works great. Just throw it in there
with it and really I like it just by itself.
But some people and there's other flavors you can try
too that you may like better. Go to fieldfgreens dot com.
We're going to get you twenty percent off with the
code big Vox. So if you want to save twenty percent,
(01:32:06):
use that code or just use the link at Rick
burgesshow dot com under sponsors. They are so confident that
this nutrition and this product will change your health for
the better. If it doesn't, you get your money back.
If your doctor doesn't notice it, you get your money back.
That's how important it is to have the right nutrition,
all right. So we're some of the things that happen
(01:32:26):
when a president is sworn in. And of course Trump's
already done this once. I mean, this is his second term.
Is the going the president going out leaves you a letter?
They're in the oval office? Correct, And so here is
Peter Doucy asking Trump has he found the letter yet?
And really if it's not for Doucy, Trump says he
(01:32:47):
may have never found it. All right, So here we go.
Speaker 9 (01:32:54):
Letter.
Speaker 22 (01:32:56):
He may have. Well, don't they leave it in the desk?
Speaker 1 (01:33:02):
I don't know.
Speaker 2 (01:33:04):
Oh, thank you, Peter.
Speaker 1 (01:33:07):
It could have been years before we found.
Speaker 19 (01:33:10):
Wow, thank you outside.
Speaker 1 (01:33:14):
Maybe we should have read it together.
Speaker 13 (01:33:16):
Let's read it.
Speaker 2 (01:33:17):
Well, maybe I'll read it first and then make that
determine how sure, Peter, thank you very much. I may
not have seen this for months.
Speaker 20 (01:33:28):
I did.
Speaker 1 (01:33:29):
I left two one in the deskriscles.
Speaker 3 (01:33:33):
So you could tell it. Wait a minute, it's using
this drawer there. Yeah, it's usually right there. So you
see how chilled and relaxed. It wasn't that it was
a long day and they still had a couple of
balls to go to and all that. But that's when
he's at his best, when he's just chilled out and
talking to the media. I hope that this all the
things because he signed him executive orders. Uh, there was
(01:33:54):
two hundreds, I don't know, Yeah, and a bunch of them,
and I hope he had so many that he The
reason why Biter Ray Cyrus was killing time is because
Trump wasn't there yetting he didn't have.
Speaker 1 (01:34:05):
To hear that it might have been.
Speaker 3 (01:34:06):
Yeah, so we're looking at some of the things here,
he's gonna the recession of seventy eight Biden era executive orders.
Speaker 1 (01:34:13):
He just started running through them.
Speaker 6 (01:34:15):
So he was signing them at the arena.
Speaker 1 (01:34:18):
Ye at the Yeah, good stuff.
Speaker 6 (01:34:20):
That's crazy. Yeah, so throwing it.
Speaker 7 (01:34:23):
He was throwing pens out into the Yeah, it depends,
and you like like a drummer with those drumsticks.
Speaker 1 (01:34:30):
There's a pen.
Speaker 4 (01:34:30):
Another executive order.
Speaker 1 (01:34:32):
Yeah, you know, they keep the pins. They use a
different one, but they normally don't throw them to the crime.
No they don't, they don't. They don't. Yeah.
Speaker 7 (01:34:39):
Here and hearing each one be read out and then
he signs it.
Speaker 1 (01:34:43):
It was pretty good.
Speaker 7 (01:34:45):
It's a long signature, but he kept his promise at
least on one of the ones.
Speaker 4 (01:34:50):
I heard. Yeah, Yeah, I'm looking at some of the ones.
H he's he's.
Speaker 3 (01:34:55):
Like he is, Yeah, all all of this looks like he's,
you know, got his head in the right direction. Now,
poor o Elon Musk, he just can't every every six there,
every time that he people keep just accusing of all things.
Speaker 1 (01:35:11):
Greg certain he's from another planet.
Speaker 3 (01:35:14):
So now now they think that Elon gave the Hayle
Hitler Nazi salute, which he clearly he didn't.
Speaker 4 (01:35:22):
But he just finds himself in he he.
Speaker 5 (01:35:24):
Doesn't look exactly God love him, My goodness, Elon, you're
supposed to be the smartest guy on the planet.
Speaker 6 (01:35:30):
Don't do this.
Speaker 4 (01:35:31):
You can be too smart. Greg talked about that stuff
like I can't here.
Speaker 6 (01:35:35):
He goes, thank you, and he's gonna turn around and
do it again.
Speaker 1 (01:35:43):
Oh that's the bad one. My heart goes out.
Speaker 6 (01:35:45):
To you, My heart goes out to you. That's what
he was.
Speaker 1 (01:35:54):
The second one was the second one was the work.
He could just have gone heart heart goes out.
Speaker 4 (01:36:03):
Right, but he goes to sling it out.
Speaker 13 (01:36:05):
That one.
Speaker 1 (01:36:07):
This one, this one, the worst, got Greg going, Greg, don't.
Speaker 4 (01:36:13):
Do this, don't do this.
Speaker 5 (01:36:15):
Oh boy, my heart goes out to you, is what
he was trying he.
Speaker 4 (01:36:19):
Did say it.
Speaker 1 (01:36:19):
It'd be different if later, If later he was saying
that's what I meant.
Speaker 4 (01:36:23):
He literally said what he meant while he did it.
Speaker 7 (01:36:26):
Now, now that's not gonna stop social media though, Well,
but he gave him one.
Speaker 4 (01:36:32):
But police imagine the view today.
Speaker 1 (01:36:36):
That's just who they really are.
Speaker 6 (01:36:38):
Kamala Harris doing it too.
Speaker 1 (01:36:42):
It's but God love him. He just seems to wonder
into all this kind of why why is he?
Speaker 9 (01:36:50):
Well?
Speaker 1 (01:36:50):
Greg excited. We'll go phone calls next. All the lines
are available, but we thrown a lot out there for
you to discuss. I mean a lot. So eight eight eight,
the number six then big vox v as in Victor,
and then you can get lined up ready to go
eight eight eight six two four for eight six nine.
(01:37:10):
We'll be right back.
Speaker 2 (01:37:11):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. Okay, are you ready
to bring something to the table?
Speaker 8 (01:37:26):
Cool?
Speaker 2 (01:37:26):
No, and get on the show. One eight eight eight
six big fox.
Speaker 3 (01:37:33):
All right, here we go. Lines are available. About half
of them are already locked in and ready. You can
grab the other half as they are available to you
at the number we just gave you. And yes, that
is the same number that you text if you text
that number, or.
Speaker 4 (01:37:49):
Call that number. It works, It works either way.
Speaker 3 (01:37:51):
Eight eight eight six Big vox are eight eight eight
six two four four eight six nine. All right, let's
get started, speedy, rough day for you. It's not getting
any better. I'm looking over on the phones and comedian
Jeffy's back. Oh no, And I know that we're fans
(01:38:12):
of Jeffy. We we we think he's found his his
his angle of being a disabled veteran and uh, but
today he's he seems to be taking another step no
pun intended, and he says he actually has a song.
Speaker 1 (01:38:29):
A song.
Speaker 3 (01:38:30):
Yeah, so a song, Yeah, Jeffy, How are you, buddy,
Welcome back to the rick Burgers Show.
Speaker 1 (01:38:35):
How are you?
Speaker 9 (01:38:37):
I'm good? How are y'all this morning?
Speaker 1 (01:38:39):
We're good, Jeffy?
Speaker 4 (01:38:40):
So, jeff what kind of song we talked about here?
Speaker 18 (01:38:46):
All right?
Speaker 9 (01:38:46):
Are you familiar with John Anderson seminole wind?
Speaker 1 (01:38:50):
I am? I am?
Speaker 25 (01:38:52):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (01:38:53):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:38:53):
As a matter of fact, I know someone who loves
John Anderson and they've sung that to me more times
than I was, you know, even hoping for so I
am somewhat familiar with it.
Speaker 9 (01:39:04):
Yes, okay, I did a rewrite for the show.
Speaker 1 (01:39:09):
Well, Jeffy, this is that moment where I just say
let it rip.
Speaker 8 (01:39:14):
All right?
Speaker 9 (01:39:17):
Last time I was in burn and Ham, I met
a group of rowdy men. I listened close in hurt speed.
He say, my wallet's in my truck. So blow blow
Rick's money again. It's not like he has a fortune
to land. And please don't ask another one on do
(01:39:41):
you want to make twenty bucks? Rick was dancing with
a grin right up until he blew loudishn Adler was
running in from a warm man. Then she penned him
to the mass. I heard that Greg had an obsession
(01:40:04):
were the plan that nobody wants to mention. His high
school teacher had to flow on him when he showed
him your ain us.
Speaker 1 (01:40:16):
Huh oh Jeffy, Jeffy, Jeffrey, that's the last word of
the song. Say your.
Speaker 4 (01:40:26):
Well, jeff.
Speaker 1 (01:40:29):
You know what if no one else is laughing, it's
tickled you, you know, and so so Jeff I say,
keep plugging. I don't think. I don't know that I would.
I don't think the songs are your thing. I probably
would just go back to my stand up again. And
and no pun intended there, blown blow one, What do
(01:40:55):
you say about your shin you blew it out.
Speaker 4 (01:40:57):
But it wasn't. It was my hip.
Speaker 3 (01:40:58):
That'st that I knew who was in trouble when he
reached for a rhyme that really was not accurate.
Speaker 1 (01:41:04):
You know what? Sure, and y'aught in there, Adler, Yeah,
I'm good. Okay, let's go look at that one. Let's
go get a baby brother in there. Yeah, he's beside himself.
I looked, there's like three Gregs in there. Devin. Go ahead,
Welcome to the Rick Burgess Show. How about you. Y'all
doing all right this morning? Yeah, I'm doing great.
Speaker 26 (01:41:27):
Good to hear so yesterday I couldn't help but notice
when Trump was talking about platting a flag on Marsh Yeah,
and other territories. You get to stand in Ovation and
the camera pans over behind Trump and you can see
Elon standing there, cheese and grinning like a little kid.
Speaker 27 (01:41:50):
So I just thought that was pretty funny.
Speaker 3 (01:41:52):
He was so happy about that. I saw that same
shot you did. He was thrilled to Hunter in Dothan
News Talk one O three nine Hunter, you guys get
some snow today, baby.
Speaker 16 (01:42:06):
Yes, sir, did you see the the me and from
Babelah being that said to the bank and he wanted
to ready to build a fort in the week in bedroom.
Speaker 1 (01:42:20):
That is really good. I did not see that, but
I love that. Uh let's go to Mark out of
Sweet Home, Alabama.
Speaker 27 (01:42:28):
Mark go, Hey, Hey, you doing Joe's loving the new show?
Speaker 18 (01:42:32):
Thank you?
Speaker 21 (01:42:32):
Hey.
Speaker 13 (01:42:32):
Yeah.
Speaker 15 (01:42:33):
I know y'all watched. I know y'all watched the Billy
ray Syers performance, But I asked Greg, did y'all see
the very end of it, after the achy breaky part
of it where he's walking around the stage and then
they start playing one of his songs and he kneels
down on stage. I don't know if he's praying or
passing out, And I'm like, lord, you know, Mileage probably
home thinking, way to go, Dad, you just made me
look good. It was just I was like, oh my.
Speaker 1 (01:42:53):
Lord, Yeah, I don't know.
Speaker 3 (01:42:54):
Yeah, I think we all want to know who was
in charge of vetting the artist on whether they were
Were they in a good place, I'll put it that way.
Somebody should have said, hey, I know we had Billy on.
I'd call that. Yeah. It seemed like Billy was didn't
(01:43:14):
he was either really sick, didn't know, was really high.
Speaker 1 (01:43:19):
I really don't know. Maybe all the above. I don't know.
Speaker 7 (01:43:24):
It's almost like the stage manager when they whenever whoever's
in charge, like he went on stage, they took a break,
They're like, okay, I've got it. I've got about maybe
fifteen minutes.
Speaker 3 (01:43:33):
Yes, Yes, it was almost the way I remember the
days when Greg and I were out there, you know,
rocking and rolling, and you know, we would find ourselves
in the warm up band position, and the sound crew
did not seem is overly dedicated to us, is they
did the headliners. Sometimes what you just said would happen.
(01:43:54):
You would go pretty sure. The soundman's laying down.
Speaker 1 (01:44:00):
I think he's this is where he's gonna grab a wink. Hey,
billy's got it, take a break. We've been on my
feet all day. Right, I think you're right, that's been
a ready sorry, that's on knocking.
Speaker 24 (01:44:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:44:12):
Yeah, And they come run into the break room. You
ain't gonna believe what's happening out here.
Speaker 8 (01:44:15):
Uh.
Speaker 3 (01:44:15):
Let's uh, let's go to uh, let's go to muffin Madison, Mississippi.
Speaker 1 (01:44:22):
Nothing. Welcome back?
Speaker 25 (01:44:23):
Are you hey?
Speaker 1 (01:44:25):
Are you on today?
Speaker 4 (01:44:26):
Pretty good?
Speaker 21 (01:44:28):
All right?
Speaker 20 (01:44:28):
Well, I want to thank Greg forgetting me.
Speaker 1 (01:44:31):
My wife got mad at me don't know.
Speaker 25 (01:44:33):
I was sitting on the.
Speaker 20 (01:44:33):
Couch with her and she was scrolling through Instagram and
there was a picture of the planets that had just
come out, so new pictures of like Jupiter. I said, hey,
is there any pictures of Ranus on there? Wink wink.
Speaker 6 (01:44:46):
I mean, she's just she's.
Speaker 1 (01:44:47):
Trying to admire how awesome our God is and the
planet she's created and all that. And man, here I
come with the Greg Burgers and how many thank Greg?
Speaker 2 (01:44:56):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:44:56):
How many times has the Senate started? Well, Greg got
me in, troubled my wife yesterday?
Speaker 4 (01:45:00):
I said that yesterday. Assure me too. We continue to roll.
Let's go to h.
Speaker 1 (01:45:07):
This person is saying their name is Macaroni. Hello your
own go.
Speaker 4 (01:45:12):
Ahead, strange day, It is Strue.
Speaker 1 (01:45:14):
Good morning to you.
Speaker 4 (01:45:16):
Yeah, yes it is.
Speaker 9 (01:45:18):
I just wanted to acknowledge that Elon is a gun
Smoked fan.
Speaker 8 (01:45:22):
His son X signs his name the same way Festus does.
Speaker 3 (01:45:26):
That's you know why that that that dates you just
a little bit there, but you I'm right on the
fringe of knowing that. But that's that is true. We'll
watch gun Smoke.
Speaker 6 (01:45:37):
Oh uh.
Speaker 1 (01:45:39):
Let's go to John. John, Welcome to the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 4 (01:45:43):
What's up?
Speaker 23 (01:45:45):
I just wanted to give you a call. This is
my last day.
Speaker 20 (01:45:48):
Of work, Okay, I was.
Speaker 23 (01:45:52):
I've been with McDonald's office for forty four years and
my owners so their stores, five stores, and they're retiring now.
I have nothing against them. I'm happy they're.
Speaker 1 (01:46:07):
Getting to retire, understood.
Speaker 23 (01:46:08):
But the new people, the new people that took over
the stores, don't need me. M uh oh, hey, the
day is my last day of work.
Speaker 3 (01:46:18):
Well, here's the good news. If you were somebody who
got after it, you did a good job, okay, which
obviously you did. It's a new day in America. The
economy is is gonna is already responding. It will only continue.
You'll just find a job with somebody else because people
are gonna be looking for people willing to work. People
are already looking for people willing to work. A lot
of jobs aren't filled because people don't want to work
(01:46:40):
and you want to work.
Speaker 4 (01:46:41):
So there you go. You'll be in great shape.
Speaker 1 (01:46:44):
Yep.
Speaker 4 (01:46:44):
So thanks for listening and into and in between, you know,
maybe you can listen to this a little more. Uh listen,
that is there?
Speaker 3 (01:46:50):
Well, I mean till he finds his other place. Let's
go to, uh, John and Nashville.
Speaker 25 (01:46:57):
John, go ahead, he had called new show yet like it?
Speaker 1 (01:47:02):
Thank you.
Speaker 25 (01:47:04):
With all the money that the Trumps have, can someone
please hire someone to teach that family how to clap?
Speaker 1 (01:47:11):
Oh? My goodness, boy, they have.
Speaker 25 (01:47:14):
The most awkward clap. And uh, I don't know if
y'all were. Whenever the prayers were happening, I was looking
to see if Elon was closing his eyes or not.
Also Baron Trump, he freaks me out too, So see
if they were closing their eyes. I didn't notice, did
they I did?
Speaker 1 (01:47:30):
I didn't look.
Speaker 3 (01:47:30):
You know, there were so many things that happened yesterday
that they were hard to look at. But I just
had to keep thinking to myself, this is, this is
this is so much better than what we had. I'm
glad that for us to be a dominant world power
again and have a smokeing economy, it doesn't require rhythm.
Speaker 4 (01:47:46):
Thankful for that. Yeah, And so.
Speaker 1 (01:47:50):
I'm just happy. I was happy.
Speaker 25 (01:47:52):
I'm the same way. I'm happy that they're there. But
I was also seeing if anybody was twitching there in
that prayer too. I was great. I'm probably greg he
that's that must he breaks me out.
Speaker 3 (01:48:02):
Yeah, people can be can be, you know, so brilliant
that it that it turns odd and there's no doubt.
Speaker 1 (01:48:10):
There's no doubt about that.
Speaker 4 (01:48:12):
Uh so, uh, Jake, welcome to the show.
Speaker 8 (01:48:15):
Go ahead, buddy, Hey, good morning guys.
Speaker 27 (01:48:19):
As far as Jeffy goes, keep the.
Speaker 9 (01:48:20):
Song, give him a chance.
Speaker 1 (01:48:22):
Okay.
Speaker 27 (01:48:22):
Second thing, I don't know if you guys have talked
about Franklin Graham's prayer, but you want to talk about
Franklin Graham piling on Joe Biden? Oh wow, pull that
up and watch the introduction. You know, it's like President Trump,
you've been through some dark years and so and then
just watch Biden's face as he introduces the prayer and
(01:48:43):
starts to pray.
Speaker 8 (01:48:44):
It's it's pretty good.
Speaker 1 (01:48:46):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (01:48:46):
I bet we have that. I bet we find it.
Speaker 1 (01:48:48):
Thanks Jake, we'll be back. Thanks, good calls. Thank you
Jeffy again, you continue to amaze us. So there you go.
Would you listen to Jeffy song again, our Billy Ray
cyres on today. You can put Jeffby in rotation and
a loop and I would never never grow weary.
Speaker 4 (01:49:10):
And if it cappy from that syrus, think again.
Speaker 1 (01:49:12):
We'll be right back.
Speaker 2 (01:49:14):
This is the Rick Burgers Show, The Truth Needs No Apology,
the Rick Bergish.
Speaker 1 (01:49:28):
Show and never back.
Speaker 3 (01:49:37):
And someone did call and bring up that the prayer
with Franklin Graham yesterday. We've been walking through the inauguration,
We've gone back through, talked to a little college football
playoff from last night. Span has updated us on the

even if you're a tune in apt person where you
listen live on the streaming entire shows are archive that
kind of rotate until the next live show comes on too,
(01:50:27):
So a number of options to be sure that you
never miss a moment of the Rick Burgess Show if
your schedule doesn't allow. I mean, I know a lot
of people they got a short commute and they're like, well,
they don't let me listen, you know, at work, so
I only get to catch ten minutes the show every day. Yeah,
what's nice to.
Speaker 1 (01:50:45):
Go back when you settle back now and say, well,
I'll go back and pick up the parts I miss.
Speaker 4 (01:50:49):
So we had Jake mention.
Speaker 1 (01:50:51):
I think it was Jake.
Speaker 3 (01:50:52):
Yeah, it was the Franklin Graham's prayer. I did see
Franklin Graham getting ready to pray, but we were here
at the office. I didn't hear the prayer. And he
said that the discomfort there is to watch Biden and
the Kamalas and those that you don't have have stood
for a lot of things that would be in conflict
(01:51:13):
with the faith. And when I say the faith, the
Christian faith, it's also in conflict with with other faiths
as well. But with this, you know, obviously frank and
Graham is Christian and the fallow of Christ. So his
prayer is going to feature, you know, no apology, as
you just heard Ken Osborne say, the truth really doesn't
need an apology. But he asked us to watch and
(01:51:36):
see if we can catch the discomfort here.
Speaker 4 (01:51:40):
So here it.
Speaker 1 (01:51:41):
Is, mister President. The last four years, there are times
I'm sure you thought it was pretty dark.
Speaker 2 (01:51:50):
But look what God has done.
Speaker 28 (01:51:53):
We praise him and give him glory.
Speaker 1 (01:51:59):
So Bill Clinton stands over with his mouth open all
the time.
Speaker 4 (01:52:02):
Yeah, he's gotten to that age when.
Speaker 1 (01:52:05):
Let us pray.
Speaker 3 (01:52:08):
Yeah, the the Yeah, it's uh Clinton.
Speaker 1 (01:52:12):
You know what's his face?
Speaker 4 (01:52:13):
Yeah, Doug, you know, Doug.
Speaker 1 (01:52:15):
Yeah, Yeah, it's interesting to watch this.
Speaker 4 (01:52:20):
I don't know who's running this thing. It's just this
thing feels.
Speaker 1 (01:52:24):
Like they moved it inside and Mester, Yeah.
Speaker 3 (01:52:26):
It's like it's just, well, we got a guy that
I guess this is another guy that prayed. We haven't
let we can't even let him sit down. Who's this
person walking around?
Speaker 1 (01:52:33):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (01:52:34):
Yeah, so can't we at least allowed time for that
guy to sit down or maybe he needs to scurry
a little more.
Speaker 4 (01:52:40):
He's gripping and grinning all the way by.
Speaker 3 (01:52:42):
Yeah yeah, so, and he must have made Joe Biden
feel very uncomfortable to see a Catholic priest walk up.
Speaker 1 (01:52:48):
Uh so. Uh but anyway, still got a little bit left.
Yeah all right, so I mean, yeah, pay yourself.
Speaker 7 (01:52:55):
I did see you know, they moved everything into the
Capitol one arena or center, whatever it's called, and so
they still had bands come through and I saw marching bands. Yeah,
and I saw the first military band. I thought of, Greg, No.
Speaker 1 (01:53:09):
Don't get me starting on that again. I get too
much hate mail, right, yeah, Greg, You've got plenty of that. Okay.
Speaker 3 (01:53:15):
On that note, So I was watching something and again
and again, Speedy, it would have been maddening to you.
So went by to check on to check on greg
our mom yesterday and visited with her a minute, and
and it was interesting, is your is your parents ever
done this to you? So obviously you know, we got
(01:53:35):
winter weather and certainly you know are if you have
you know, aging parents, they're going to buckle down and
they're not going anywhere.
Speaker 1 (01:53:42):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (01:53:43):
So she didn't know I was going to come by,
but I said, hey, I got something for you, uh
that that I want to bring by to you, or
I just want to let you know. I'll give you
a heads up because you don't want to surprise mom.
Speaker 1 (01:53:54):
Well, you just have to forgive the way I look,
and I'm like Mom, I mean, I mean I'm your son.
I mean I'm your son.
Speaker 3 (01:54:01):
I've seen you your entire life, you know, when I
was like your kid that lived at home. I've seen
you with no makeup. I've seen you. Well, you know,
I've just basically got on my pajamas and I'm just
got my blankets out and I'm just watching TV.
Speaker 4 (01:54:15):
So I haven't really fixed myself up.
Speaker 3 (01:54:17):
There's no need for that since so because because I'm
your son, of course, then that what does that lead to?
Speaker 1 (01:54:24):
Mom? Let me get a quick picture of you so
I can post on Instagram, you know, and I want to.
Speaker 4 (01:54:29):
I want to get a picture of you. You doing
you better or not?
Speaker 3 (01:54:33):
So anyway, so I sit down, and it really is
to me, one of my favorite things on the changing
of power, unless of course democrats are taking over, is
when they come out and address all the military branches
and they get information, you know, and the president new
president comes out and gives them the salute, and this
is there. Now you're our commander in chief moment. It's
a very very cool moment. Now, I'm not sure why
(01:54:56):
we still have people dressed as revolutionary soldiers. I don't
think that's current. You know, we won the revolution, we
got that. Yeah, But anyway, but anyway, so but we
have the actual current branches as well. And again I'm
so sorry, Speedy, they all do this hair, you know,
(01:55:16):
and it's it's you just love watching it. And they
all get into formation, and it seems like it's time
for the president to be there, and he's not there,
and there's there's a moment on the on the coverage,
and then I start getting on the coverage. Somebody nar
rate for us, somebody tells they just stand there and
(01:55:38):
the cameras and then for some reason, back to like
nobody being in charge. Some photographer is walking through all
the formations like she doesn't even see them. I'm like, hey,
you can't.
Speaker 1 (01:55:48):
Just walk through all this.
Speaker 4 (01:55:49):
This is a big deal right here.
Speaker 1 (01:55:51):
She's wandering around like she's like like at a museum. Yeah,
and just walking around.
Speaker 3 (01:55:56):
She literally would go through formations and cut around people
who are trying to.
Speaker 1 (01:56:02):
And and so.
Speaker 3 (01:56:04):
But there, but there there was an incredible delay. Can
we not get this thing tim to don't make these
poor people who serve us so well stand there in
formation that long.
Speaker 1 (01:56:15):
Can we get.
Speaker 3 (01:56:15):
Somebody and then you know what you're gonna hate. Even Sherry,
i mean even Mom commented on this. They start held
to the chief when he finally gets there, they don't
they don't time it out where when it finishes, he's
still walking. It's like he's hung on the steps and
he's let him halfway down, and it's just like.
Speaker 1 (01:56:34):
It was really kind of it fell strong together. Yeah,
this owns mean so much. Right here, it's a time
of the Hour Mortica on today's edition of the Rick
Burgess Show.
Speaker 2 (01:56:56):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, Big Fox Entertainment, the
Rick Butchers with speeding Rick Burgs and and Ricks.
Speaker 1 (01:57:27):
Here we go.
Speaker 3 (01:57:28):
A brand new hour is rolling and we're glad you
are with us today.
Speaker 4 (01:57:33):
We have covered much.
Speaker 3 (01:57:37):
Yes, congratulations Ohio State College Football's national champions earned it.
Speaker 1 (01:57:45):
You had the best team. Props to you.
Speaker 4 (01:57:49):
Don't like you, but I give you a problem.
Speaker 1 (01:57:51):
All right, So we stopped start this hour or two.
Speaker 3 (01:57:53):
We've been celebrating and having fun with the inauguration yesterday.
What a joyful day in America. The second Trump administration
shot at America, and boy it was anything.
Speaker 4 (01:58:07):
Like the first one.
Speaker 1 (01:58:08):
Take out the pandemic and we have much to celebrate,
and it was so good to hear some of the
things that needed to be corrected starting to be corrected
corrected immediately. So we've been talking about that a little
bit on the program today.
Speaker 3 (01:58:23):
We can take your phone call spend as updated this
on the winter weather. A lot of newbies out there
when it comes to winter weather down in the deep
deep South along the Gulf of Mexico soon to be
the Gulf of America as you're dealing with it today.
Thanks for the pictures. As you heard, the gang is
all here. Some notes of interest of the Man Church
(01:58:47):
conference in Birmingham will be this weekend. It should be
a beautiful weekend. It'll be a little bit chilly, but
nothing like this. Things start warming up in Birmingham on
Thursday and then going into the weekend. I think we
get back into the fifties. So looking forward to seeing
all of you there. We got a great lineup for you.
You can come see and hear Hugh Freeze. Also you
(01:59:09):
can hear Grainger Smith, George Wright, Andy Blanks I will
be speaking as well. Got some cool stuff going on
with the Manchurch new resources that you can see. Speedy,
Greg and Adler will be there. You can see them.
They'll be out in the lobby at the rick Burgers
show table and they'll have some goodies for you. Come
by and see them. If you don't have a ticket
yet for this weekend, get them now. At the Manchurch
(01:59:31):
dot com. You'll see where you click there, there will
be no availability to get tickets at the door, So
you good need to go ahead and get those, print
them out, have them with you, and be ready to go.
So one of the things that everybody's been talking about
some of the funny stuff from the inauguration, because there's
just so much to celebrate, but some fun too, is
(01:59:53):
this George W. Bush video. Everybody's wondering.
Speaker 9 (01:59:57):
Now.
Speaker 3 (01:59:57):
I remember the first time that we saw the great
Frank Caliendo do his impression of George W. Bush, and
he absolutely has him. One of the things he would
always do is thistle these little faces that George W.
Speaker 4 (02:00:11):
Bush makes.
Speaker 3 (02:00:12):
Now, the funny thing I loved is when Caliendo would
talk about because he would say wrong things and get
things get get things tied up, but he was saying.
Sometimes he would accidentally say something really smooth and he
would almost look around like I nailed that, remember, and.
Speaker 1 (02:00:28):
He would do that, he would do that little smile.
Speaker 3 (02:00:30):
Well here, you know, and people have put so many
memes of this and so many things underneath his name,
and when you know, like, for instance, the one of
course we love the most bunch of guys hanging out here.
Is it looks like that he dropped a silent but
deadly and he's waiting on everybody to smell it.
Speaker 1 (02:00:47):
Right, So if you.
Speaker 3 (02:00:48):
Haven't seen it, so, so what do y'all think's going
on here? So he's cutting his eyes around Hillary. Yeah,
he's right behind Hillary and he's looking around, looking. Now
he's starting to think, and he's starting he makes eye
contact with somebody, get to laughing and cutting up a
little bit.
Speaker 7 (02:01:06):
So did Laura Bush get onto him right here? So
he's coming in there. Look watch her lean in here.
If she does, she say, hey, you act right or whatever.
Watch this, she's gonna come in here at the very end. Okay,
all right?
Speaker 1 (02:01:18):
Yeah here?
Speaker 4 (02:01:20):
Oh yeah, people are watching you.
Speaker 1 (02:01:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (02:01:23):
Oh gosh, yeah he acknowledged somebody.
Speaker 1 (02:01:26):
Yeah yeah, how about this political comeback? Well, the first
time I saw it, I thought it might have been
like us.
Speaker 3 (02:01:36):
I thought it might have been that he's tickled the
fact that like something like we can't get carried Underwood's
music start. Well, yeah, Mankorn. Maybe he's watching b the
Ray Cyrus killed time.
Speaker 1 (02:01:48):
Yeah, I don't know what it was. Maybe he's maybe
he's because you remember he was sitting close to Billy C.
Speaker 4 (02:01:57):
I'm gonna tell you that I was.
Speaker 3 (02:01:59):
Let me tell you something of you, seriously, he can
I ask you something. Why do you think Milanie has
got Stevie ray Baum's hat on?
Speaker 1 (02:02:07):
You know, and you know that that.
Speaker 13 (02:02:08):
That was.
Speaker 1 (02:02:13):
That could be. Do you think Stevie ray Vaughns family
was like, God love him. We had always keepsakes. Where's it?
We can't find that hat? And then they look at
him like, well, my goodness, Mlanie trumps. You think he
looked over and said, hey, Michelle didn't come again.
Speaker 3 (02:02:29):
Yeah, this is the guy locking up, trying to introduce
Barack O and he can't and he can't get honorable
and Barack in the same center.
Speaker 1 (02:02:37):
Okay, I'm not sure.
Speaker 4 (02:02:38):
Yeah, let's just see.
Speaker 29 (02:02:39):
If you've got voice guy here, ladies and gentlemen. Yeah,
So forty fourth presidents of the United States.
Speaker 1 (02:02:44):
The honorable Barack h. Obama, the honorable He can't get honorable.
Speaker 6 (02:02:50):
Out he bosh chalk right here.
Speaker 1 (02:02:55):
They exchanged some work.
Speaker 17 (02:02:56):
President.
Speaker 5 (02:02:57):
People are speculating as to what Obama says to book.
Speaker 17 (02:03:00):
Right your administration because.
Speaker 6 (02:03:02):
Because he gets a kick out of it.
Speaker 1 (02:03:04):
Look, let me tell you. George W.
Speaker 4 (02:03:06):
Bush is an easy target.
Speaker 1 (02:03:07):
He's always Yeah, ran the world for eight years. We
both did. I'm hanging out now. Hey.
Speaker 5 (02:03:18):
By the way, that's Dana White behind them, the Ultimate
Fighting Championship. That's that's a Donald Trump inauguration right there.
You got Bush, you got Obama, and you got Dana White.
Speaker 1 (02:03:31):
Yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:03:31):
Right, so, yeah, that's funny. And let me hear then
one more time. Let's hear the attempt that it is
a tough word. Honorable, honorable, honorable.
Speaker 29 (02:03:42):
Ladies and gentlemen, the forty fourth presidents of the United States,
the honorable Barack H.
Speaker 1 (02:03:48):
Obama. You know what I love about it.
Speaker 3 (02:03:53):
I love that this guy realized he dropped it. I've
been there, We've dropped words so many times. He hits
honorable and there you can tell maybe the thought process
should I try to get it and find him close enough?
Speaker 1 (02:04:03):
They know what I'm saying, know what I mean.
Speaker 4 (02:04:06):
He's honorable.
Speaker 9 (02:04:07):
We all know that.
Speaker 7 (02:04:09):
So last night in the Oval Office, when Trump was
just signing executive orders and answering any question, loved it.
The question was asked, what were you and Obama talking
about at at the funeral?
Speaker 1 (02:04:22):
They bring that up again? Yeah, and the world wants
to know.
Speaker 7 (02:04:25):
And I think in I'm paraphrasing here, he said, boy,
you sure would like to know what you Then then
he said something.
Speaker 1 (02:04:30):
About you might not you might be you might not
want to know, or or you might not like to.
Speaker 7 (02:04:35):
Hear what we were talking about, almost like they were
buddying up pretty big, and the topic was maybe.
Speaker 9 (02:04:41):
Don't.
Speaker 1 (02:04:42):
I couldn't tell what he meant by it.
Speaker 7 (02:04:44):
It's either you don't want to know because he's really,
you know, he's really we get along, we have a
good a good uh, I guess relationship and y'all think
we don't, or it was something off.
Speaker 1 (02:04:55):
Color that they were joking about. True, it's one of
the two. Well let me tell you, Billy Bush said,
I'll give you a hint. Yeah, still can't work.
Speaker 5 (02:05:06):
Trump had to go sign the initial the initial governmental
trans transition documents, and I guess everybody that was introduced
as the honorable earlier in that. You got Amy Klobashar,
you got Chuck Schumer, you got even Hakeem Jeffries speak
speaker by Johnson. Trump is signing this paperwork and he
(02:05:27):
takes that first pen and hands it to Hakeem Jeffries,
who is a Democrat. He says, here, take that. You
can have it that Kim Jefferies doesn't really.
Speaker 18 (02:05:36):
Know what to do.
Speaker 25 (02:05:37):
There you go.
Speaker 4 (02:05:38):
I kind of love it him.
Speaker 1 (02:05:39):
Take it.
Speaker 4 (02:05:40):
Yeah, I love that.
Speaker 3 (02:05:42):
By the way, some people saying Rick Stevie Ray Vaughan
not bad. But I'm thinking maybe Hamburglar that is Hamburger is.
Speaker 6 (02:05:51):
Where in the world is Carmen san Diego?
Speaker 4 (02:05:53):
I think where's the Grimace?
Speaker 1 (02:05:55):
Yeah? So yeah, that's true that the Hamburglar hat? Yeah
it is.
Speaker 4 (02:06:02):
And did y'all say that people are are blaming what's
your name?
Speaker 1 (02:06:06):
For running? Everybody was panickinglo hey, the name clobho? Was
she a little long winded or something?
Speaker 21 (02:06:13):
What?
Speaker 22 (02:06:14):
What?
Speaker 19 (02:06:14):
What?
Speaker 22 (02:06:14):
What?
Speaker 1 (02:06:14):
She couldn't get her hair right?
Speaker 3 (02:06:18):
I was because they were saying it was running behind.
Who would have thought if you put a female in
charge of something, it wouldn't be on time. That's that's
what Greg just said. That's what he just just said
that I wouldn't Trump asked Obama about Jennifer and.
Speaker 1 (02:06:35):
Y'all are making up this Jennifer and the thing? Aren't
you telling you? I heard Michelle had come back from Hawaii.
Speaker 5 (02:06:43):
All right, Well, We'll be back, Obama posted on his
anniversary of Michelle is weird.
Speaker 6 (02:06:51):
It's weird.
Speaker 5 (02:06:52):
They're sitting across the table from each other, very far away.
The light on on on Michelle is terrible. If I
opposed to that, I'd be divorced though, and maybe they
arguing to the horn.
Speaker 1 (02:07:01):
We'll be back.
Speaker 2 (02:07:02):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, the man who taught
the world to say couldn't care less Rick burchas.
Speaker 1 (02:07:23):
Already, So here we go.
Speaker 3 (02:07:26):

Speaker 13 (02:08:20):
I know that.
Speaker 3 (02:08:21):
Unfortunately my in laws had a death in the family,
so it might have set Young Broaderick back because they're
having to get to Indiana for a funeral this week.
Speaker 4 (02:08:29):
But anyway, it's a new beginning.
Speaker 9 (02:08:32):
Here.
Speaker 3 (02:08:32):
We are the Rick Burgess Show, I mean, and we're
having fun. There's a lot of opportunities. You know, we're
very thankful that really most every relationship that we had
through the years of thirty one they said, you know what,
we're with you on the new project, and glad to
have them. But there's some opportunity. Maybe you're out there
(02:08:53):
and you're thinking, these guys are having a blast. It's
off to a great start. I'd like to to do
some marketing with the fellas. I want my product on
the show. You have opportunity to do that. The Rick
Burgess Show has already got some incredible partners. Would you
like to be the next one? If you would, you
can have access to the whole gamut now. If you

need something local, we'll help you with that.
Speaker 25 (02:09:16):
Too.
Speaker 3 (02:09:17):
But if you want to do a national campaign that
includes all the platforms, live and archived, then all you
have to do is go to Rick burgesshow dot com
and look at contact and you can get with Syndicated
Solutions or if you just want to email them directly
Rick Burgess Show at Syndicatedsolutions dot com and let's talk
about how we can put this massive audience and connect
(02:09:39):
them with your product. All right, so this was yesterday.
I actually saw this over the weekend. You know, we look, okay,
this is where it gets a little dicey. I know
that we've talked a lot over the years on the
old show and we still see it now. And I
know we're all older and most generations will say, well,
(02:10:00):
you know, we parented a certain way, and you know
and way these these parents of the day, and and
there's there's some truth in that. There are some things
that that work because they're actually in the Bible. So
I don't think those have those are timeless, no matter
how society may see them. But when when you're in
a situation and I've been there, man, you know, having
(02:10:23):
five kids, adlers still has small kids. We've all had
small kids now, Greg and Speedy have grand grandkids that
are young. Again, you're at a public event, you've got
to try to keep the young kids corralled. Look, I've
had a toddler, you know, go out in the middle
of a school assembly with the older siblings and have
(02:10:44):
to run out there and get them and and keep
them all seated.
Speaker 4 (02:10:47):
I know it's difficult, uh but there.
Speaker 3 (02:10:50):
But I do believe this, even on the times when
it's been me uh, that we are responsible to keep
our small children, like in this case, out off the
court during basketball games, you know, off the court during
a volleyball If there's a sporting event going on, and
this is our child, it's our responsibility to keep them
(02:11:12):
out of the game and off the court. They could
get hurt, they could hurt somebody, and they keep stopping
the game. Now here's where it gets ugly in this situation.
What if said parent isn't doing it, and then someone
with the school decides they're going to do it.
Speaker 4 (02:11:27):
Now you've got problems.
Speaker 3 (02:11:28):
Now you shouldn't put other people in that situation because
we as parents should.
Speaker 1 (02:11:32):
Do our job.
Speaker 3 (02:11:33):
I understand that I don't want anybody else handling my kid.
When it comes to you know, anything that would look
you know, aggressive or anything like that, especially a small kid. However,
if I haven't done my job and the kid keeps
disrupting the game, in this case, somebody's got to do something, right. Yeah,
well it went bad. Here's a story ended up with
(02:11:57):
the cat fight. Two women and fight and the parent
actually sent the elementary school principal to the hospital.
Speaker 4 (02:12:06):
Really yeah, so here here's the story.
Speaker 12 (02:12:08):
The police say she noticed young children walking onto the
court while the game was being played. You could see
the principal getting up so the little kids didn't get hurt.
At least two times she pulls the kids back while
the game is in play. At some point, Plackhaman Police
Chief Stephen Engolio says words were exchanged and the mom
was having none of it.
Speaker 28 (02:12:29):
The principal sitting in the chair, the ladies walking by
with three kids in so and one of her friends,
and the principal asked her, you know they keep keep
the kids off the basketball court and disrupts the whole game.
She obviously took offense with that, and you see her
(02:12:50):
move in on the teacher. The teacher put her hand
up to kind of keep her off, and she just
punched a knock her out of the chair.
Speaker 12 (02:12:55):
Surveillance footage in the school's gym obtained by the WAFBI
team showed the parent hit the principal. She's knocked to
the ground.
Speaker 28 (02:13:03):
This wasn't uh excitement from the competition. You made a
bad call on my child anything. This was a woman
that was dad with kids, that was disrupting everything. I
don't even think she had a child in the game
at all. Uh, And she wasn't watching her kids. And
when somebody told her, you need to, she didn't like it.
Speaker 3 (02:13:25):
So I watched what the principal did. The principal didn't
do anything to the child that was out of line. No,
just the child up and put the child back out
of bounds.
Speaker 1 (02:13:32):
Yeah, that's all she did. Joe noticed the lady was
holding another child while throwing a punch.
Speaker 4 (02:13:36):
Yeah, and you know there's a childhood memory.
Speaker 1 (02:13:39):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (02:13:40):
Yeah, and we wonder why some kids, Mom, I have
so many memories.
Speaker 3 (02:13:43):
I remember one time when you were holding my little
brother and punched the principal on the face and sent
her to the hospital.
Speaker 1 (02:13:47):
Yes, that was a memory, y'all.
Speaker 6 (02:13:50):
I'm not joking around the person.
Speaker 5 (02:13:53):
Their shirt says no negative energy with the parents who
the parent who punched.
Speaker 4 (02:13:58):
Yes, no negative energy.
Speaker 5 (02:14:00):
It sure does, my goodness, So that's kind of negative,
energetic and negative.
Speaker 1 (02:14:06):
But here we don't know if anybody go to the
hospital over there. Well, she fell backwards, Yeah, she fell better.
Speaker 4 (02:14:11):
I agree with you.
Speaker 3 (02:14:12):
I thought it would be a worse. But that's pretty
She got her good. She got a pretty good. Now
is it likely that the hospital might have been I
don't know. I don't know what her injuries were, so
I won't say because I didn't see where she fell.
But right here, these kids are on the court. Yeah,
no one's watching them, and the principal simply picks up
the smaller one, picks him up, doesn't handle him, sets
(02:14:33):
him back over out of mounds for his safety and
the players on the court. And then I guess somebody
told mama, you better keep it on your kids. They
keep going out on the court.
Speaker 4 (02:14:42):
And she didn't like that.
Speaker 1 (02:14:44):
She didn't like it. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (02:14:45):
See, I thought what we're going to say.
Speaker 3 (02:14:47):
Is something a little more complicated, like somebody handled your
kid in an aggressive way. Really didn't happen, Really, you
were just told, Hey, for the sake of the teams
on the court, and here's a concept your small children
who could get hurt if the ball went out of
bounds over there or near there, the plague kind of king. Yeah,
(02:15:07):
they're on the corner, they're on the court. We're and
we're also going to have to get mama another shirt.
She clearly she clearly she is not committed to no
negative energy.
Speaker 1 (02:15:21):
Energy. That a lot of negative energy there.
Speaker 3 (02:15:26):
So that's uh, why do you think she's in that category?
That nothing's ever her fault, kid's fault. The whole world
is against her. We'll be back spottom of the hour.
You got the Rick Bird just show.
Speaker 2 (02:15:46):
This is the Rick Burgess Show, the man who removed
the phrase what you're no good from society.
Speaker 1 (02:16:06):
Rick, Let's go with an We're ben thanks, you're being
with us America. You got another chance to chat coming
up at eight eight eight, the number six and then
big vox fah like Victor. Okay, So.
Speaker 3 (02:16:30):
I want to talk about some things that I think
are universal there ought to be. Do you feel like
that in the guy world there's a certain brotherhood that
you thought there's certain things that all guys should know,
certain things I mean should shouldn't have to be taught
it's so well understood that you and one of those
(02:16:52):
is under zero circumstance. Under zero circumstance, do you do
anything that could possibly bring drama to a married man's life. Fact,
you just don't do it. So understood, you don't do
anything that that you know, you don't drop some little
smoke bomb and then go off and then and then
(02:17:15):
leave him with it. Uh, you know sometimes you we
may accidentally do it to each other. Well, that happens,
that's gonna happen. I didn't know, Rick, You're gonna sorry.
I didn't know that, buddy, I didn't know. But to
do something that seems so elementary, and and it happened,
of all places, in in in the local church. And
this is when you go, I mean here, I feel
(02:17:36):
safe here. I feel like there's no way that anybody
here is gonna get me some in trouble with my
wife and that's not possible, and and or me have
to deal with something.
Speaker 1 (02:17:48):
I was so close, so close to to go into
lunch after church. And you know that celebrations talk about
the message.
Speaker 3 (02:17:56):
What do you think about that? I thought, yeah, I
really know that. That's the conversation I want to have,
not what I was put through. Okay, and I hate
to say it. It's somebody that you you would have
just thought, did you know this? And I know that
he is, uh he's not working with the company more.
(02:18:17):
He's at he's with another group now not in broadcasting,
has left broadcasting altogether for now. We loved working with
him and this was, you know, everyone's favorite promotional person,
Justin Raglin, hot rocking DJ, you know, promotional king and
(02:18:37):
good fella.
Speaker 1 (02:18:39):
M I'm afraid it's his dad. Huh yeah it uh
so his dad. I go to church, Okay, with trying
to make connect with family. Okay, he appreciates you talking
about it right now. Well, sorry, Justin, Well maybe he
(02:18:59):
can help maybe help me.
Speaker 6 (02:19:02):
So we're.
Speaker 1 (02:19:05):
Now.
Speaker 3 (02:19:06):
I was brilliant on my feet okay, yeah, because you
know I can think on my feet, right, I mean,
if you can't do not get married. Okay, if you
can't think on your feet, I mean, you've got to
be able to think on your feet. And so we're
out in the lobby. One of the few times I
was thankful for chaos. People everywhere, a lot going on,
(02:19:29):
huh okay, and the conversations you know, when you're leaving.
When you're leaving church, you can really get into multiple
fragment conversations. Somebody's just making a comment. Somebody's actually talking
to you about something you're supposed to give them. You
should give them their their full attention. But it doesn't,
it won't. It won't phase anybody else from coming up. Yeah,
(02:19:50):
and of course, let me tell you when any guy
is is probably the most vulnerable, and that is if
you're waiting outside the bathroom for your wife. I mean
you're like a sitting duck. Oh yeah, you're like a
sitting duck. Nobody. I've told my wife this so many times.
You don't leave me out here like this. I'm a
sitting duck. And uh, you know, it's just like and
(02:20:12):
then somebody looks over and says, there's birds and.
Speaker 1 (02:20:15):
He ain't going anywhere.
Speaker 3 (02:20:16):
He's waiting on his wife in a horrible moment.
Speaker 4 (02:20:22):
So it's going great. Man, it's just a couple of
guys talking.
Speaker 3 (02:20:26):
Okay, killing time, we can think about how hungry we're
discussing the show. Okay, you know, the typical hey man,
you know, and you know I'm always having to tell
so many people, you know, we're not no one's enjoy
all things. Enjoy the best of us from the old,
Enjoy the current, Enjoy any other projects we're all doing.
Speaker 1 (02:20:48):
It's all enjoying. We're having y'all read it down, this
and that and whatever.
Speaker 3 (02:20:51):
And then all of a sudden, I see share you approaching,
and I think, well, we're gonna land this plane. We're done, okay,
and I'm starting. Have you ever liked to to end
the conversation, You'll literally start moving your body, you know,
like I'm now moving away, I'm now signaling we're wrapping up.
I'm now my wife and I are headed to the
automobile in hopes of eating in some in a few
(02:21:12):
moments somehow.
Speaker 1 (02:21:13):
Okay, So you know, and it's that it's that church
Sunday hungry. Uh huh Okay, you know, hey, you you've
been to you've been to Sunday School. Yeah, you've been
through that worship service. Praise God.
Speaker 3 (02:21:26):
You're hungry or in a sandwich because everybody got up
later than they should have. Okay, we didn't eat like
we should before we left. We didn't come, we didn't
we didn't showed up here starving.
Speaker 1 (02:21:36):
Okay, sitting out and you don't want to eat no,
because you.
Speaker 3 (02:21:41):
Know, because all that's there, there's nothing gonna help you.
Plus you know Dan's eating all of it. But that's
another store. Got and got an update on that.
Speaker 1 (02:21:48):
Okay, So so anyway, the.
Speaker 4 (02:21:54):
Hey Daniel coffee's not gonna freeze.
Speaker 3 (02:21:56):
But anyway, so uh so, so's there's heat in here.
Speaker 1 (02:22:01):
It's good.
Speaker 4 (02:22:02):
We don't have a son. Just go out in the
parking lot and here we control the temperature in here.
Speaker 1 (02:22:07):
Okay.
Speaker 4 (02:22:08):
So whatever you saw in the news that scared you're don't.
Speaker 1 (02:22:10):
Apply in here. Okay.
Speaker 3 (02:22:12):
But anyway, so, so, uh, all of a sudden, just
when I think today today is it's been great, It's
been wonderful. Worship we have we have studied the Holy
Word of God. We have we have sung praises to
his name. Okay, we've been challenged, Okay, we've been equipped.
(02:22:33):
I'm ready for the fellowship to end. Not always my
favorite part. Time to eat hungry. Then it happens. He turns,
he shifts his eyes to Sherry, and then he says, huh, you.
Speaker 1 (02:22:46):
Hear how he talks about you on the show. Oh boy,
if I had had a punt until now, if i'd
had a pocket knife, i'd have been dangerous. I said that.
I said, okay, And then and then she's like what
(02:23:07):
I said, he talks about you, and I'm just like, okay,
and uh So then I'm like, hey, let's go, let's go,
let's go eat. But what what is he talking about?
I said, you know, I talk about how much I
love you all the time. I said.
Speaker 3 (02:23:24):
Some of these men get sick of it, I said,
because I'm always talking about how beautiful you are, and
and uh and you know, and they're jealous, I said,
and and you know, if we'd have had more time,
not been so hungry and needed to leave, he was
probably about to tell you, you know, now so obvious
how much I adore you. And I'm always elevant, you know,
I like, like like like the women tell you.
Speaker 1 (02:23:45):
All the time. And she was like, well, I don't know.
He's sitting kind of laughing, like what what have you
been saying? Said, yeah, yeah, you're a little off the panic.
Speaker 3 (02:23:58):
And I said, I said, you know, I said, great guy,
I love him, heartygo. But you know, he's he's he's
he likes to cut up. That's by the way, by
the way, that's accurate.
Speaker 1 (02:24:07):
He's a joke. He's ay and he loves it, but
he's what he means there, though, is have you been like,
what do you tell some story about what I said?
Speaker 5 (02:24:19):
He?
Speaker 3 (02:24:19):
I said, he's probably talking about you know, you know, probably,
And then I panicked because I knew I was in
a bind because this one seems to make her laugh.
You don't want to lie in church, No, I don't know.
I wanted to get in the park like first. But
but but no, it's then it's not a lot because
I don't know what he's talking about. He never told me,
so what I said was probably the thing about your
(02:24:40):
boot that I said, man that kills. And then she laughed,
and then I started thinking the things that she thinks
is funny. I see, you know that thing about me
scaring you all the time, where you know, I can't
understand why you think there's somebody else in the house.
Speaker 4 (02:24:51):
And I walk in the line the room, you're.
Speaker 3 (02:24:53):
Like, you know, And then and then she gets to laughing,
and I and I I got in that parking lot,
and now I've got her laughing. So I'm escortner to
the car and I look at him and with the.
Speaker 4 (02:25:02):
Eyes I said, I don't kill you.
Speaker 1 (02:25:03):
You don't ever walk up I drop some hand grenade
on another married man like that.
Speaker 13 (02:25:15):
Right.
Speaker 1 (02:25:17):
Right the dad right there, get away from him. How
quick did you turn your head and look at him?
I mean when he first said.
Speaker 3 (02:25:27):
It, my hip was bothered me again, man, and I
turned so fast, and I blocked him so much I
became like a soundboard.
Speaker 1 (02:25:36):
He couldn't have spoke to me for anything. So w man,
that's a man code break big time. Yeah, we'll be
right back.
Speaker 2 (02:25:51):

(02:27:18):
Question right now, throwing it out at the crew right now,
so we all claim, what.
Speaker 4 (02:27:24):
Do you keep thinking about?
Speaker 22 (02:27:25):
What?
Speaker 1 (02:27:26):
We just bring some up? But it wasn't what I
just talked about. No, no, even though that owns you too.
Now you know this challenges when speed speed does all
these challenges right right, it reminded us years ago, years ago.
It was like the outdoor show is an expo. Yeah,
and the minutes were invited? Why were we? We were
on stage and I had a person, he had a
(02:27:47):
person that were making a cake. Ye, well, ada was
there to find.
Speaker 6 (02:27:51):
We get so mad.
Speaker 1 (02:27:52):
We got the cake and start hitting him with it
on the stage in front of all those people, and
it got out of hand. His long hair a you
that's the first time Adler really got mad at me.
Speaker 6 (02:28:03):
It was a new shirt.
Speaker 1 (02:28:04):
He was extremely that shirt was new.
Speaker 6 (02:28:06):
I bought it with my own money.
Speaker 1 (02:28:07):
It was so many you can't imagine how much icing
was in his hair, and why would you do that?
Speaker 6 (02:28:13):
So there we was like, just make people there. It
wasn't even worse the thrill of it all.
Speaker 4 (02:28:18):
So how did it happen?
Speaker 1 (02:28:19):
And there was a beauty paget supposed to be on
the same stage afterwards, and there was icing all over
the stage, all over the stage.
Speaker 4 (02:28:26):
But what caused them to start and start throwing kk chu?
Speaker 6 (02:28:29):
They got personality disorder problem.
Speaker 1 (02:28:33):
I don't know what. It got way out of hand.
I actually feel bad about it.
Speaker 7 (02:28:38):
Yeah, we were bad people for that. I mean he
had a lot of hate and he came out to
video it and everything and we were done doing it
and then they would calm down.
Speaker 1 (02:28:47):
That's it. I'm sorry. You should have told me about this.
Speaker 6 (02:28:51):
Yeah, this was crazy. I'm like, I just started working
for the company. I'm like, this guy's hazing right now.
Speaker 1 (02:28:58):
Moment Oh yeah, he doesn't holler. Oh yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:29:02):
Was there a moment in there where you were like, oh, look,
they just they're doing this because they like, wait a minute,
did you start thinking is this all part of it?
Are they razzing about the third time that he thought
we were done and we like we were Yeah, I
think you started getting a message in.
Speaker 5 (02:29:15):
And there were all these old ladies that came to
watch like an actual bake decorating.
Speaker 1 (02:29:20):
Yeah, why they had.
Speaker 5 (02:29:21):
That's the audience that was there, so they didn't they
didn't want to see a little boy be smothered with iceing.
So now I'm getting mad and I'm like really yelling,
and now everybody's just uncomfortable and the only people that
are having a good time is tweedled, Tweedled dumb over there.
Speaker 3 (02:29:37):
Oh, I'm sorry that we were getting paid to be there. Yeah,
did y'all do y'all feel bad about it? Yea, it
doesn't sound like it, It really doesn't.
Speaker 6 (02:29:48):
That was a new shirt.
Speaker 1 (02:29:50):
I remember who started it, and they had it in
your hair. It was all in your hair too, Yes, oh, Rick,
it was all in that hair.
Speaker 4 (02:29:58):
We got to giggling about what if we do did this?
I know he took a cake smash. I think that
offended a lot of people, did that?
Speaker 1 (02:30:04):
Lady the Beauty Pageant lady was not happy.
Speaker 4 (02:30:06):
No, because message, I bet you wouldn't.
Speaker 3 (02:30:09):
Let's see, you're doing a beauty pageant and a couple
of guys are hazing the new guy by hitting him
with cake, and now you're ready for the pageant and
there's cake and icing all over the stage, probably upsetting.
Speaker 7 (02:30:19):
So the reason I got on some of them, the
reason this even came up because in the break, I said,
if I make this, adler has to like smush a
donut in his face and eat it when hurt.
Speaker 1 (02:30:29):
And then I said, I made to start thinking about
smushing things. And now I feel about.
Speaker 6 (02:30:33):
Now I say, what what if I make this? You
gotta go eat dirt out of a bucket full of
crappers And I'm like, what are you even talking about? Also,
what happens if you miss You've made that point, then
you don't have to say that.
Speaker 1 (02:30:47):
Because you don't have to do it.
Speaker 4 (02:30:48):
Yeah, right, Well, life's not fair, Chris, Chris.
Speaker 1 (02:31:01):
Maybe at the home show this year they'll bring us
back from them, Probably not, probably not. Do you think
it was twelve to fifteen?
Speaker 3 (02:31:07):
Yeah, of all the of all the people that want
to partner with the show, I bet they're not on
that list.
Speaker 7 (02:31:12):
No, we have said a lot of people. The people
cleaning the stage, you'll do that. People putting on the event,
you'll do that. Adler for video and it and then
getting hit with everything, the parents of the little girls
that were going to be in it. The there was
a lot of funn there wasn't a lot happening, and
we wanted to make something happen.
Speaker 1 (02:31:28):
You know, it's born.
Speaker 7 (02:31:28):
Watching people makes And the lady that was with the
Union that was sitting there actually made her get up.
Speaker 1 (02:31:34):
She almost got overg Oh wow, you know the security
have the security down there.
Speaker 4 (02:31:40):
You're thinking to yourself, if danger comes to.
Speaker 1 (02:31:42):
They were all dead. Yeah during the con. If it
requires somebody to get out of that folding chair, we
got problems.
Speaker 3 (02:31:50):
But the don't make one make you do that, don't.
I love the fact that they're now using Adler. How
does this make you feel? They're now wanting me to
know I should understand because they were bored.
Speaker 6 (02:32:01):
Oh goscha, and you know what that's true?
Speaker 7 (02:32:05):
Like you go, well, in that case, how many people
can say I got in trouble because I was bored?
Speaker 4 (02:32:10):
So many?
Speaker 1 (02:32:11):
Yeah, yeah, so many. I will say they got.
Speaker 6 (02:32:13):
Idle hands it got Yeah, it got out of hand,
idle hands.
Speaker 3 (02:32:16):
You know, that's the reason why who would have ever
thought when we started giving people money to do nothing
they just hang around their house, that the crime rate
would go up and do nothing.
Speaker 1 (02:32:23):
Right.
Speaker 5 (02:32:24):
Uh, but you got some mature a lot of speedy.
I don't do that kind of stuff anymore. Oh wait,
that's what you were just doing in the break. Fifteen
years later, you're the instigator.
Speaker 1 (02:32:34):
You really are about it. What if Greg makes it
from sitting right here, what you have to eat Greenfield
donut within ten seconds?
Speaker 6 (02:32:41):
What if he misses it, then you don't. You don't
have to. But now my life is just worse or
the same money, right, so.
Speaker 1 (02:32:48):
The same is good? No, the same as a wing.
Speaker 18 (02:32:52):
I love that.
Speaker 4 (02:32:52):
It's to meet.
Speaker 3 (02:32:53):
You're selling everybody. If your life stays the same, that's
a win. That's win because you got to get because
it could have been bad.
Speaker 1 (02:32:57):
It could have been bad. You have us, So I'm sorry,
don't be afraid in the locker room.
Speaker 6 (02:33:03):
All right, thank you broadcasting environment.
Speaker 1 (02:33:06):
I thank you stilling the ear Gauges when we got
him at time, Yeah, yeah, we were picking on him
because he was different. How long, how long would his
ear lobes be right now? I wish he had kept
upsizing it.
Speaker 9 (02:33:18):
Greg.
Speaker 1 (02:33:18):
I don't know that there's a clear definition of what
the after school specials were trying to teach, and that
you and Speedy were basically picking because it was different.
Speaker 4 (02:33:30):
Look at him, and I love that Adler said this
is the locker room.
Speaker 1 (02:33:33):
Probably shouldn't be pretty much is yeah? Yeah, sorry about that.
I don't know that you You've been right here long enough.
Pretty much it stio fifteen years. But I like to
apologize for that.
Speaker 4 (02:33:43):
Thank you, Greg.
Speaker 1 (02:33:44):
Finally, that's nice.
Speaker 3 (02:33:45):
You can thank Greg's grandkids for that one. Speedy, can
we thank River for an apology from you?
Speaker 1 (02:33:50):
Yeah?
Speaker 7 (02:33:51):
Yeah, I'm sorry Idler. And looking back on it, we
probably in your afternoon man, and.
Speaker 1 (02:33:58):
We probably ruined your after his birthday cake getting his car.
Speaker 7 (02:34:03):
He's always having so much fun. For a second, I thought, well,
he'll think this is hilarious.
Speaker 1 (02:34:07):
I thought he was playing alone, but then I saw yes,
Then he got mad all red cheeks.
Speaker 3 (02:34:11):
Have you noticed Speedy always thinks whoever is the victim
of whatever he's doing, that they should be enjoying it,
that he should be fun.
Speaker 4 (02:34:19):
How are they not having as much fun as me.
Speaker 3 (02:34:21):
You don't see how the person getting hit with the
cake is not having as much fun as he got
thrown looking back on looking back, the guy getting hit
with the cake probably not as much fun.
Speaker 1 (02:34:30):
Yeah, you don't think it was. It was so thick.
Speaker 4 (02:34:35):
I wish you should have come to me on that one.
Speaker 6 (02:34:37):
It was terrible.
Speaker 1 (02:34:38):
Was he a tattletale? Now?
Speaker 2 (02:34:42):
Great?
Speaker 1 (02:34:42):
You know why he didn't tattle. I didn't want to
get hit again't cake?
Speaker 6 (02:34:49):
We did actually talk about it right after that. Yeah,
that was a long time ago.
Speaker 1 (02:34:54):
Well, it was the show.
Speaker 4 (02:34:55):
Everybody seemed to care more now than when we talked
about it then.
Speaker 6 (02:34:58):
No, just about the same. Everybody's about the same level
of worried about it.
Speaker 1 (02:35:03):
How about when you do something and somebody gets really mad.
You and I were trying to apologize to it. Yeah,
he had stuff all in his hair, man, I'm sorry.
I'm sorry to put something in my hair.
Speaker 30 (02:35:13):
Man.
Speaker 1 (02:35:13):
We thought it would be funny.
Speaker 6 (02:35:14):
You don't have any hair for me to put it anyway,
we go with the ball.
Speaker 1 (02:35:19):
Jove is that we'll see it.
Speaker 18 (02:35:23):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (02:35:23):
So if I'm making left handed and with my eyes closed,
you have to eat a doughnut and what what if
you miss it and then you don't have to?
Speaker 2 (02:35:30):
This is the rick Burgers Show.
Speaker 1 (02:35:41):
Box Enter team.
Speaker 2 (02:35:42):
Welcome June to the rick Burgers Show.
Speaker 6 (02:35:49):
We're off and running.
Speaker 3 (02:35:51):
Thank you for being with us, so much to do.
The Gang's all here, Greg Adler. As we go forward,
so some some other things to hit on. I put
something out on Instagram today, a little picture. So we
(02:36:15):
kind of taken take the first month, kind of get
our legs under us.
Speaker 16 (02:36:18):
Here.
Speaker 3 (02:36:19):
We got our first group of listeners and viewers making
their way to sit in the Vox seats to watch
the show coming off in February.
Speaker 1 (02:36:29):
And that's all full.
Speaker 3 (02:36:30):
But a lot of you been asking when will another
month open? If you'll check there, I kind of let
you know there it's going toward the end of probably
next week. We will open up at rick burgesshow dot
com the month of March and you can jump in
there and grab your Vox seats. You can come here now,
remember somebody in the seats. Every time we have everybody here,
(02:36:54):
somebody in the seats. In a random drawing, we'll get
a chance to spend the wheel of bundles, Bucks and
and bits, Bitch and bucks.
Speaker 7 (02:37:02):
Uh yeah, I think twice a week now. That's all right,
Well we'll let we'll let somebody spend it. We'll see
Dunney's gonna do the fifty dollars again on Friday?
Speaker 1 (02:37:09):
Oh is he really? Thank you? Dudney? Aren't you going
to get your teeth?
Speaker 18 (02:37:14):
I did.
Speaker 3 (02:37:15):
I made the mistake of missing my last cleaning because
of everything we had going on getting ready to launch,
and now I'm behind it. So going there. If you
sense that Dudney's upset, let me know. Okay, yeah, I
need to everybody.
Speaker 1 (02:37:32):
I got a little tooth paint. I looked at it.
Do you really what's going on.
Speaker 10 (02:37:38):
To Oh?
Speaker 4 (02:37:39):
It probably means you got to crack in it. No,
it's a crown.
Speaker 3 (02:37:42):
Oh it means it's it's not sealed. No, I know
all about this kind of stuff. It means your crown
is not sealing. And more scall it's got it's no, No,
it's compromised.
Speaker 1 (02:37:50):
You you hide and watch, I like, hey, you to
face you get when that tongue tries to get back
on it. If Dudney's listening right now, he's shouting at
the radio, rich right, that's on me though, I should
have already been.
Speaker 6 (02:38:01):
There, I haven't been. I was supposed to go and
then COVID happened, so.
Speaker 21 (02:38:06):
You have.
Speaker 23 (02:38:10):
Uh caught up.
Speaker 7 (02:38:11):
I'm about to throw something out of y'all because I
know that by the way I made the break, he
didn't go eat the doughnut.
Speaker 1 (02:38:16):
But go ahead, Okay, he's mad again about that half
years ago. Go ahead.
Speaker 3 (02:38:22):
I didn't think it would happen to me because I
I really always prided myself that I could handle cold
weather no matter what hot natured you you all of
you predicted something. First of all, I had a much
easier time with cold weather when I was.
Speaker 1 (02:38:38):
Fatter, no doubt about it.
Speaker 3 (02:38:40):
Well, yeah, I mean you think that again, couldn't get
a lot of clothes on now and again I am
still fat, but not as fat. But when I when
I was fatter, winters were easier. Okay, So when getting
ready to hung, yeah, I didn't realize there's something. There's
something too lard okay, As our father would always point
(02:39:02):
out favor For the longest, I thought that was my name,
and I thought what a strange.
Speaker 1 (02:39:07):
Name to give a child. But anyway, so.
Speaker 3 (02:39:13):
How was face is that a Why listen, that's like
you like had some weird action. Yeah, that's that's back
right there. I don't even know how to live through
those years. A man right there is running a hard
I knew that guy.
Speaker 1 (02:39:27):
I knew that. That's that's that's that's PJ right there,
that's pree Jesus.
Speaker 7 (02:39:33):
That trench coach right behind your chair and free working out, yes, free,
pre so many things, but anyway, pre nutrition.
Speaker 4 (02:39:44):
That was that was the time I.
Speaker 3 (02:39:45):
Actually went to I was having an issue that may
surprise you, and I was trying to find your faith.
We went to see a doctor and he used the
term he used to term that my health. He used
the word gross. He said, he said, whatever, what everything
you're doing, you have stopp.
Speaker 1 (02:40:01):
Tell me what it is. Yeah, we just we just
did an upper g I on you and the berry
and milkshake won't even come down, so afraid.
Speaker 4 (02:40:10):
So anyway, so so I know.
Speaker 3 (02:40:13):
And then of course I turned big six, so and
I know with age you get a little colder. I
want that picture come up.
Speaker 1 (02:40:20):
Why that I want that when you do this?
Speaker 3 (02:40:23):
You know how sometimes we stop and we stop being
grateful to the Lord. Bring that up every now and then,
because right now, inside my mind I'm talking to the
Lord and I'm saying telling me thank you, because right there,
that right there, that's that's the man. That's the man
living on the edge of calamity. Okay, so so anyway,
don't forget his shirtless. Yeah, whatever you do, don't miss that.
Speaker 6 (02:40:44):
But make it Friday.
Speaker 1 (02:40:45):
Yeah. So so anyway, America's the last outlong.
Speaker 3 (02:40:50):
I don't I how about this. I struggle with the
cold now in a way that I never did. Oh yes, okay,
So here's my question. In the Deep South, we don't
handle it well anyway. Now, it doesn't get cold in
the Deep South very much or very long. But when
it does, it's it's an angry cold because we've got
a lot of humidity. And now I know it's dry
right now to night, so that's helping. But the only
(02:41:11):
problem is it's dry right now, not a lot of humidity,
but it's so cotton picking cold. It doesn't matter whether
it's dry or wet, it's cold. Will y'all if I said,
right now we're going deer honey day, do y'all go?
Speaker 9 (02:41:24):
You know?
Speaker 1 (02:41:25):
I think I do? You got the deer moving? Are
they moving? Do we have a chance?
Speaker 3 (02:41:29):
Yes, I'm looking at the cameras and I'm saying to myself, guys,
I'm telling you, if we if we can just sit
out there for about four hours now, they're gonna move late.
I'm in, but we got to settle in now. Hey, now,
do we have any spok on camera?
Speaker 18 (02:41:41):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (02:41:42):
Have you seen the temperature today? Yeah, Benjamar. I mean
if I if I have what I need to wear
and I can lay, can you get enough for this con?
I think so for four hours? Yeah, I can think
warm and get some of it back. Morning Hunt. Anybody
going on the Morning Hunt? Where they moving? Is that
when he's moving.
Speaker 3 (02:41:56):
As a matter of fact, I looked at the camera
and I said, guys, I'm telling you morning where it's
am I in a ladder stand or a climber?
Speaker 1 (02:42:03):
Here it goes on to climb again. I'm I'm hung
on the side of the tree. I'm gonna go this one.
That's really I'm just gonna see where we are.
Speaker 3 (02:42:11):
Anybody in this room, in the in the in the
forecast we're in right now in Sweet Home, Alabama. Anybody
in this room gonna stand in camp house, gonna be
standing there at five fifteen local time and ready to
get in the side by side which has no window
on the front of it.
Speaker 1 (02:42:30):
Drive in the dark, Drive in the dark out into.
Speaker 3 (02:42:33):
The woods, and sit in a ladder stand and we're
gonna sit there till the sun comes up.
Speaker 1 (02:42:38):
We're coming out ten fifteen. You got breakfast.
Speaker 4 (02:42:42):
I got breakfast waiting, And it's gonna be cold.
Speaker 1 (02:42:46):
I mean, do I have toasty toes? You can?
Speaker 3 (02:42:48):
You can prepare however you want. I think I'm in Yeah, okay,
so we're ready to tell my preference.
Speaker 1 (02:42:54):
No, Now they would have to be moving, and I'd
have to have some what I what if I what
if I said so cold?
Speaker 4 (02:43:01):
The cameras aren't working.
Speaker 1 (02:43:02):
I don't know. Oh would you do it? Then?
Speaker 4 (02:43:06):
Now we are post rutted there right now?
Speaker 6 (02:43:10):
That hurts?
Speaker 4 (02:43:10):
That does that does hurt?
Speaker 1 (02:43:11):
That does hurt? Does hurt?
Speaker 6 (02:43:13):
Plus I sat?
Speaker 1 (02:43:14):
I think I just love being out in it.
Speaker 5 (02:43:16):
I sat for about ten hours at your house about
a month ago, and I didn't see anything.
Speaker 6 (02:43:19):
So I'm not really in the mood to do that again.
Speaker 1 (02:43:22):
Especially in this is a degree.
Speaker 3 (02:43:23):
Can you please come on? Can you please come off
this this bow and everything? You quit that robin hood
and get you and I like to doing goodnight. But
you know what killed us on that hunt, adler A.
The rut had Camela earlier than we expected be the
wind just it just didn't help us out that one.
I got winded a lot of Of course, Brody still
let the biggest deer on the property walk, So it's
(02:43:45):
not like they weren't there.
Speaker 22 (02:43:46):
They were there.
Speaker 6 (02:43:47):
I just didn't see him.
Speaker 1 (02:43:48):
People are sending us pictures Rick, they're hunting right now.
God love them. Look, you gotta love it.
Speaker 21 (02:43:54):
I do.
Speaker 3 (02:43:54):
I think I don't know if I can get if
I can, Oh, my goodness, is a good deer right there?
Speaker 1 (02:44:00):
Okay? That helps him on camera? Yeah, And I'm putting
you on the field that i've seen in the most
the one that don't know why I would get that.
But that's just my stip. Definitely not say no.
Speaker 3 (02:44:12):
I just need something that gives me hope. And here's
the hope that we have. The deer that Brody let walk.
I've still seen posts that day. He's still there.
Speaker 1 (02:44:20):
Oh boy, I'm in. Or you may do like Dad
used to do us and make stuff up so we'd
be motivating. Correct. Do you remember when he when we
finally got where we actually had them two way walk talking. Hey,
boys said, I'll be about to start moving, knowing that
that he knows they're not about he was trying to get.
I love it, And can I tell you, Dad, I
don't know what you can hear from heaven. I needed that.
Thanks for saying that. Yeah, I know what you were saying.
Speaker 4 (02:44:43):
Probably didn't have a whole lot of merit, but it's
sure to help it.
Speaker 1 (02:44:45):
Did. Hey, y'all be looking throw it out there, and that's.
Speaker 3 (02:44:49):
I know we said it a thousand times, but y'all
don't know what it's like to be a chubby kid
and somebody tell you to make the hay look, make
that bag of food work all day night?
Speaker 1 (02:44:58):
What you didn't? Little chubbs just couldn't do it. Little
chubb sandwiches were cold because it was cold outside.
Speaker 4 (02:45:08):
You know what little chub would do?
Speaker 13 (02:45:10):
Do?
Speaker 1 (02:45:10):
Nutty body bar go first, you start with it the sandwiches. Later,
they're like, why all right, phone.
Speaker 3 (02:45:18):
Calls next, let's talk to America. Oh my goodness, eight
eight eight six big Fox eight eight eight six two
four four eighty six nine. You can text our call,
but we're gonna take phone calls next.
Speaker 1 (02:45:33):
On the Rick Burgess Show.
Speaker 2 (02:45:38):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. Get on the show. No,
they call it one eight eight eight six Big Fox.
Speaker 3 (02:46:00):
The lines are open. Speedy is taking them right now.
We love to talk to you America.
Speaker 18 (02:46:06):
Man.
Speaker 3 (02:46:06):
We covered a lot of topics. I don't know how
long you've been with us, but we covered a lot.
You can comment on any of that. You can bring
up your own topic if you won't perfectly find at
the number we just gave you, eight eight eight six
Big Vox. How'd you sleep last night? You got one
of those devices tells you how you did your Apple
(02:46:29):
Watch or whatever.
Speaker 1 (02:46:30):
How does it look?
Speaker 3 (02:46:31):
Did you just sleep pretty good? Do you get up
in the lower backs real stiff every day? A lot
of this is tied to the fact that you're probably
sleeping on the wrong mattress. Rick, What do you mean
I'm talking about? You could go to helicksleep dot com,
slash Big Vox and a you should have a mattress
customized for you.
Speaker 4 (02:46:52):
Okay, what do you mean by that?
Speaker 20 (02:46:54):
Greg?
Speaker 13 (02:46:54):
You did it.
Speaker 1 (02:46:55):
You and Lisa did it.
Speaker 4 (02:46:55):
We're talking about a sleep quiz that takes only a
few minutes.
Speaker 1 (02:46:58):
Or how do you like to sleep? You on your stomach? Backside, yeah,
questions like that, do you like a firm mattress, soft
mattress medium? Yeah? They take that info and then match
you up with the one that fits you.
Speaker 3 (02:47:07):
And then also, I notice sleep positions are on there,
like back, stomach, side, all that's on there too. So anyway,
you can get to get all this by going to
Helixsleep dot com slash Big Box at twenty percent off.
Now they'll ship it to you and then there's no
charge for that. They'll customize it for you, ship it
straight to you, and then give you one hundred nights
(02:47:28):
to sleep on it, because you know what it's like
test driving a car. You want to know if it works.
Is this really a better mattress for me? And you're
gonna find out it is, and you're gonna keep it.
But if something happens you don't like it, they'll refund you. Okay,
So they also have big and Tall. They also have
mattresses for children. Helixsleep dot com slash Big vox a
twenty percent off, no shipping, one hundred nights to try
(02:47:52):
to make sure you love it, or use the link
at Rick Burgess show dot com under the sponsors. All right,
let's go to let's go to Craig Craig, Well, come

Speaker 4 (02:48:09):

I mean, I don't know any other word than sad.
Speaker 15 (02:48:17):
I think Yokohano's album went up in the ratings after
that as well.
Speaker 8 (02:48:20):

Speaker 1 (02:48:22):
Yeah uh so?
Speaker 4 (02:48:23):
Uh will you carry that with you the rest of
your day?
Speaker 3 (02:48:25):

gobble like a palate cleanser. Yeah, yeah, a Sherbert. Okay,
isn't that weird? Do you bring you Sherbert the first time?
I went to like some swanky restaurant and I'm like,
what's up with the shirt with the Sherbert?
Speaker 1 (02:48:41):
Clean your palate? Clean your palate? I ain't worried about that. Well,
I used to like Sherbet with kids, Yes you did.
I always thought that was weird. We finally get to
go to Basking Robbins and you get a stupid Sherbert.

Speaker 1 (02:51:10):
Yeah? They had like sitting on the couch or so.
I saw Lee Corso do his pick? Did you sue? Unfortunately?
I did not. Good. I don't understand what's happened. I still,
you know, by the way, this is what's fun, these
moments which I enjoy. When the wife decides to join
you for a big game and they see that, and
I looked over her just watching that. I just I
(02:51:30):
just didn't I didn't.
Speaker 3 (02:51:31):
Even want her.
Speaker 1 (02:51:32):
And she goes with the old man dressed like a Leprechaun,
and I said, you talking about Lee Corso she goes,
I could't even understand what he said.
Speaker 4 (02:51:39):
And I'm like, no one can, honey, no one can.
Speaker 6 (02:51:43):
I was surprised, how old, how difficult it was.
Speaker 1 (02:51:46):
It was tough.
Speaker 3 (02:51:47):
Uh, let's go to let's try Tom. I think Tom
worked his way back around.
Speaker 1 (02:51:52):

Speaker 8 (02:52:01):
Question for you. I'm from Great Falls, Montana, Yes, sir,
and I bought a house here in Hulks Bluff.
Speaker 4 (02:52:10):
Well there you go.
Speaker 8 (02:52:12):
To run down and get away from the winter up there.
Speaker 1 (02:52:16):
But what happened? Oh no, it is Tom.
Speaker 3 (02:52:20):
Normally that was a good move, not not this particular week.
And you know what's weird time? This is what's going
to bother you. Probably we we normally don't have this,
but every blue moon. This is like our second or
third Arctic blast, Siberian whatever.
Speaker 4 (02:52:38):
In the last three years.
Speaker 3 (02:52:39):
It's like we've we're starting to have these kind of
short but difficult moments in winter a little more often.
I hope that that pattern changes next winter. But yeah,
it's this is not what you were hoping for?
Speaker 13 (02:52:54):
Was it? This morning?
Speaker 8 (02:52:56):
In great falls. They were five degrees warmer than you were.
Speaker 3 (02:53:01):
Sorry, buddy, And when it gets cold and bamba, it
hurts a little bit, doesn't it. It's kind of an
angry cold.
Speaker 8 (02:53:06):
But in the same voice, last week they were twenty
below without the chill factor.
Speaker 1 (02:53:13):
Okay, so see see Tom, You're okay, We're good. So
I'm glad, glad cape.
Speaker 4 (02:53:20):
Yeah, and we're gonna warm up this week warm Yeah,
we're warm up this weekend in the fifties. You'll be okay.
Speaker 3 (02:53:25):
Brian, you're saying you get colder now too. You dropped
a little weight, you're getting cold now.
Speaker 9 (02:53:30):
Yeah.
Speaker 20 (02:53:31):
I dropped about sixty one pounds over three years intentionally,
And yeah, I get I get colder, and I am
sixty today, but still I can layer my clothing and
everything and I don't feel the cold as much.
Speaker 1 (02:53:47):
It's all about layers. Yeah, I'm all about layers. I'm
not a big jacket guy. I love to have the
layers on. And you're right, if you do it right,
you're all right. So yeah, I agree.
Speaker 4 (02:53:59):
Once we got Tom from Montana, now then that's a
good phone.
Speaker 1 (02:54:03):
All right, we'll be back.
Speaker 3 (02:54:04):
A lot of people say, don't y'all know all this
cold airs because of global warming, of course it is.
We'll come back at any stories we miss this hour.
Thanks for your calls, thanks for your emails, and thanks
for your comments. Or the Rick Burgess Show coming up
right after this.
Speaker 2 (02:54:20):
This is the Rick Burgess Show. Three cities, three powerful weekends,
the Men Church Conferences, worship, challenge, discipleship and fellowship all
(02:54:43):
in one life changing weekend. Get your tickets now well Birmingham,
Panama City, or Atlanta at Themanchurch dot com. Disciplemen Change Everything.
Speaker 1 (02:54:56):
Here we go.
Speaker 3 (02:54:57):
It is another edition of the Rick Burgers Show and
this weekend Birmingham, your Man Church Conference is rolling. Tickets
still available to that. They won't be available at the door,
so you can grab those and print them out, take
a picture of whatever, and have them with you as
you come in. Be sure and do that prior. But
there are still some seats available, all right. So we've
(02:55:18):
talked a lot about the inauguration. That's been a big
part of the show earlier. If you missed that, catch
that in the archives. It looks it's funny watching the
text option because of all the different ways to get
the show, some of them are delayed and different affiliates
carry the show at different times, and it's interesting to
watch people start chiming in on stories that in our
(02:55:40):
lives we did hours ago.
Speaker 1 (02:55:42):
So that is funny.
Speaker 3 (02:55:43):
But so sometimes you think something hasn't been discussed and
it really has earlier. So one of the things I
was wondering, and I saw somebody commenting on this yesterday,
I can't remember who it was, and they said, even
though it's clear that the left can't both, they do
not like Trump, they do not want him, the establishment politicians,
(02:56:07):
they don't like him. And there's a lot of reasons
to like Trump. And a lot of times, if you're
wondering whether you should like somebody or not, go look
at everybody who dislikes them, and sometimes you go, wow,
that really confirms that I should like them based on
the people who don't like them. But anyway, I was wondering,
you know, it doesn't seem like we have so much
screaming and end of time. And I mean I heard
(02:56:29):
him even say in his there were so many speeches
he did yesterday, I'm not even sure which one this was.
What speech was it when he said moving forward in
my administration and what he meant by this. I know
some people don't understand this, but what he meant by
this is people can still live their private lives the
way they want to, but as far as public life,
(02:56:52):
we're going to operate under two genders. And I thought, well,
oh my goodness, that will just lead to is inauguration.
Yeah okay, so, but I haven't seen as much outcry
this time. It's almost like, I don't know. I mean,
they don't like it, no doubt about that, but it
(02:57:12):
doesn't seem yet. Maybe I'm speaking too soon, But ADDERS says,
wait just a minute, Rick, He's just a second, buddy.
You're saying San Francisco had another screaming fit.
Speaker 10 (02:57:23):
Is that?
Speaker 1 (02:57:23):
Is that correct?
Speaker 8 (02:57:24):
Yeah?
Speaker 6 (02:57:24):
Some people got up on this hill here.
Speaker 5 (02:57:28):
Evidently they were counting down the minutes to when Trump
was official, and here was their solution, the voice their frustration.
Speaker 1 (02:57:39):
GOSHTI, that didn't irritating at all.
Speaker 6 (02:57:54):
Yeah, now they that's outside San Francisco.
Speaker 3 (02:57:57):
Yea, now they and how we all felt when we
went to the grocery store and saw the prices.
Speaker 1 (02:58:04):
Under the Biden administration. I wonder that lady that you
remember on the first one, that.
Speaker 3 (02:58:12):
Is she around, happened to her the But you know,
one of the things that takes you is she okays
it might check it on, but when you when you
look at at San Francisco and where they were, that
beautiful place, you think to yourself, the Left and their policies,
they've taken a place that is one of the most
(02:58:32):
beautiful places we have and just ruined it.
Speaker 4 (02:58:35):
I mean, look at that beautiful what what the what
did they have to.
Speaker 3 (02:58:37):
Complain about walking out there and screaming their life is
so good they don't even know how bad the policies
are on the left.
Speaker 6 (02:58:44):
Yes, you're ruining your own time.
Speaker 1 (02:58:48):
There was a time this used to be a pretty
desirable place to go. Yeah, but not anymore.
Speaker 3 (02:58:52):
No, And can't you look around as you step over
god knows what on the sidewalk that you go this
doesn't work and said, it.
Speaker 5 (02:59:01):
Is possible to ruin your own life, and I think
a lot of people end up doing that on accident.
Speaker 4 (02:59:05):
Well, here's the thing.
Speaker 3 (02:59:07):
Let's just tell our little left friends, y'all scream and
yell and we'll we'll do the right thing as a country,
and we're actually going to make your life better. And
you can pretend that's not true, but and then enjoy
it all right, So here here's the other that you said.
Now you know, we're saying goodbye to quite an era
the Biden administration. Watching this circus in this show has
(02:59:30):
just been wild. So here he goes our former president
Biden feels good to say that right now. Well, now
give us a goodbye at Andrews Air Force Base and
it goes about as smooth as you would.
Speaker 2 (02:59:47):
So here, here we go.
Speaker 1 (02:59:49):
All the agencies and friends, supporters, Joe and I are
forever grateful. I mean that we're generally grateful. Has herve
you say before? No president gets to choose the moment
in our history, but they get to choose the team.
Speaker 4 (03:00:05):
You would, we chose the best damn team in the world.
Speaker 1 (03:00:12):
Have you noticed when he feels it slipping that his
his his instinct.
Speaker 3 (03:00:19):
When he feels himself getting garbled and confused, it's always
to elevate his anger. Have you noticed that he gets
more intense the more he thinks he's in trouble. You know,
it's like when he feels the slipping away, he starts
he starts raising his voice. Yeah, yeah, exactly exactly.
Speaker 1 (03:00:37):
It's I'm sure what he said right there in the
midst carn Pop was a bad dude. You're Biden.
Speaker 7 (03:00:46):
Yeah, that's Trump was asked last night about Trump or
Biden pardoning his entire family fifteen minutes in case they
before the deadline, but after Trump had already gone in
for the inaugurate so he wouldn't find out un till afterwards.
Speaker 1 (03:01:02):
That was his parting comment. Again, and evidently you can
do this, because I think that maybe even Trump did
it when he left the first.
Speaker 4 (03:01:08):
Time, he didn't.
Speaker 1 (03:01:09):
He talked about the fact he didn't part in his family. Well,
I don't tell you his family. I'm talk about this
pardoning people. Yeah, for future charge future charges. I mean,
I've never heard of that. I didn't know you could
do that.
Speaker 3 (03:01:20):
So you're telling me that if I get a future
pardon from a sitting president, like you can't do anything
to me, no matter what I do, not you can't
come after what I've done. I'm now clear on anything
I do.
Speaker 1 (03:01:34):
I think it's up to that point.
Speaker 6 (03:01:35):
It's a time period.
Speaker 1 (03:01:37):
If they somehow find something to charge you with, I
guess something you've done.
Speaker 5 (03:01:42):
Any offenses that Fauci may have committed or taken part
in during the period from January first, twenty fourteen up
until this day.
Speaker 1 (03:01:51):
Oh so yesterday, so twenty four if you did something now,
you would be okay.
Speaker 3 (03:01:56):
Okay, because I was about to say, the only time
I've ever known of anyone that could be pardoned for
anything they've done, anything they're doing, or anything they'll do
in the future, that's really blown solely to beautiful women.
Speaker 1 (03:02:09):
You know what I mean? You you really cannot. I
mean it's uh uh.
Speaker 3 (03:02:13):
I mean if we want to get in the real
world where we broadcast from. Uh, I didn't know that
could be really given to anybody else.
Speaker 1 (03:02:19):
So so so there there it is. If we find
out something oult you did during that time frame, I
got you anything, even though currently he has no charges,
So that's my point. How will that stand up? Well?
Speaker 3 (03:02:30):
Yeah, and and of course that we all feel like
he's really clean, sood at all.
Speaker 4 (03:02:37):
He didn't lie about anything. So I mean, you talk
about a guy that just went on a c y
a dupe fest.
Speaker 1 (03:02:46):
He's a public servants. Okay.
Speaker 4 (03:02:50):
I still have to do this cigarette every time. It
just gets.
Speaker 1 (03:02:56):
But he sounds like my aunt Martha, who did yeh
come give ant more of sug.
Speaker 3 (03:03:03):
I still love the time that that Aunt Martha was
asked by a Southern waitress about grits.
Speaker 1 (03:03:08):
I'll never forget that. You remember that? Do you remember that?
Kind We weren't there, but they were telling us about it. Yeah,
and uh and the we were too young to be
part of it, but it's been.
Speaker 3 (03:03:15):
It was like a legendary when our Detroit I didn't
even know we had Detroit family, but we did. And
apparently they came down one time, not just the one
we knew, but apparently there were others.
Speaker 4 (03:03:25):
And when they were at a Southern.
Speaker 3 (03:03:28):
Restaurant, you know, honey, sugar, you know, all that kind
of stuff, it was like bones the other end. When
I was with him in Michigan, he asked for sweet tea.
Speaker 10 (03:03:34):
No.
Speaker 3 (03:03:35):
So the waitress comes up and says, to our Detroit family,
you know, asking the order, you know, and says, ma'am, yes,
So what do you need?
Speaker 1 (03:03:46):
Baby? You want? You wanted to get you some grits.
What are grits?
Speaker 9 (03:03:50):
You know?
Speaker 1 (03:03:51):
And she said, well, we'll have some. We get some grits.
Do you want how many grits? I don't know. I'll
take two, you know. And so yeah, so sounds good.
Speaker 9 (03:04:03):
This is the type of grits.
Speaker 1 (03:04:05):
Have you ever met those people that don't like grits?
Speaker 4 (03:04:08):
But you know, I didn't like griz I didn't like
grits for most of my life.
Speaker 1 (03:04:11):
I like, what's wrong with you? Boy? I just thought
they kind of tasted like nothing?
Speaker 18 (03:04:15):
Did they do?
Speaker 13 (03:04:16):
You got to add lit?
Speaker 10 (03:04:17):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (03:04:17):
Yeah?
Speaker 9 (03:04:17):
But I love them now.
Speaker 1 (03:04:21):
I love them now.
Speaker 4 (03:04:22):
Someone says, yeah, thanks for stating the obvious.
Speaker 1 (03:04:25):
We'll be back.
Speaker 2 (03:04:27):
This is the Rick Burchis Show. In order to truly
benefit from this show, you must have a sense of humor.
So lighten up, Francis and enjoy the Rick Burchish Show.
Speaker 1 (03:04:50):
Yeah, baby, we've had fun all day again. And if
you missed any of it, don't forget those archives. Go
back and catch those where.
Speaker 3 (03:05:01):
Uh you get podcasts, see the Rick Burgess Show podcast.
You also can link it see where it's his show
archives at Rick Burgess Show dot com.
Speaker 4 (03:05:10):
Do you see it right there on the home bench. Yeah,
just click that.
Speaker 3 (03:05:13):
Also the YouTube option, you can see that and see
where it says watch live. Click that you get the
live in the in the archiveal Blaze TV. You get
an hour every day too. So if you're not a subscriber, please,
I actually had a cool you know, I have I
listened to messages. You know, I've got this thing now
and y'all are playing with this where people are sending me.
You can now send audio messages like the email and
(03:05:35):
stuff like that. You just click on it and listen.
Looks like it's from the Ring Bunch, they do the
ring doorbell things. But anyway, so I had a guy
that was a Blaze TV guy and it's his only
it must be his only experience with us. And he
was like, hey, you know, I'm from somewhere and I
don't know where. It was in Virginia or something.
Speaker 1 (03:05:52):
And he said, I'd love for Blaze TV to also
have a you know, I want to I want to
see tales from the camp House, you know, and I
wish they put that on Blaze. And then he was
like uh.
Speaker 3 (03:06:02):
And then he was talking about the new podcast we
dropped this weekend, the greatest Hits from the Rick and
Bubba Show, and and I was like, well you can
you can get those? I mean, you don't you know, it's.
Speaker 1 (03:06:12):
Uh you know.
Speaker 3 (03:06:12):
And so then I realized that if you if that's
your only access, you may think if it's not right here, Yeah,
then then then I'm out.
Speaker 1 (03:06:19):
So so that was but these new have you've seen that?
These voice meass? I heard you playing? Was that what
you're doing?
Speaker 28 (03:06:24):
Yeah?
Speaker 1 (03:06:25):
Sometimes if it's if it's yeah, trying to be sharp.
It was, No, it's just a.
Speaker 7 (03:06:33):
It's if something is too long to text, but yet
you don't have time for a phone call, you just
in your options just hit the little bluss of the
plus excuse me, and then click audio and you just
can send somebody, you know, And this isn't new.
Speaker 1 (03:06:47):
Everybody's like yes, and then once you listen to it,
it kind of goes away.
Speaker 7 (03:06:52):
Yeah, And so sometimes we'll use that, you know, in
communicating with different things with the family, because it's easier
than trying to text.
Speaker 3 (03:07:01):
Yeah, I've seen that before and I have some friends
that do that. But I didn't know about an I
saw an email. You have a voice message on an email?
That was that was a little different.
Speaker 4 (03:07:10):
Okay, all right, So people are.
Speaker 3 (03:07:11):
Asking me, did we see Kirk Herbstreet cry last night
National Championship game?
Speaker 4 (03:07:18):
I didn't. Is he what is he crying about?
Speaker 6 (03:07:21):
Is this after the game? After all? Ohio State has won?
Speaker 1 (03:07:25):
Ok?
Speaker 6 (03:07:25):
And he's from That's that's where he went to scribe.
Speaker 1 (03:07:27):
I knew that.
Speaker 6 (03:07:28):
I didn't know that.
Speaker 4 (03:07:29):
So he's just emotional about that.
Speaker 6 (03:07:30):
He was just being a cry baby about that.
Speaker 4 (03:07:32):
Yeah, we don't say cry baby. I mean he's working.
Speaker 1 (03:07:35):
He can't be showing emotion for one of the teams.
Remember he wanted to want He won't even pick a team.
He won't even pick if he's doing the broadcast.
Speaker 5 (03:07:40):
Well, he mentions how he tries to be impartial, but
then he takes the squalling.
Speaker 1 (03:07:44):
Okay, weird start as a guy grew up there and
wore the uniform.
Speaker 6 (03:07:48):
What's the story of this team?
Speaker 30 (03:07:50):
Oh, don't start with me, man.
Speaker 6 (03:07:51):
I'm a little emotional, you know. I I'm just fired
up for these guys.
Speaker 31 (03:07:56):
I it's you know, when I call these games, I'm
incredible objective and I love all these Ohio State teams.
But this team, because of what they went through, uh
to get to this point, you're just.
Speaker 6 (03:08:09):
Happy, you know you hear it?
Speaker 1 (03:08:11):
I heard a little that wouldn't.
Speaker 6 (03:08:16):
He stops talking.
Speaker 5 (03:08:17):
I can't find the broadcast audio of this, so the
audio is not as good. But look this is moments after.
Speaker 6 (03:08:22):
That he is squalling.
Speaker 5 (03:08:25):
He steps out and gets a tissue and his eye
he's wiping his nose, he's.
Speaker 6 (03:08:31):
Squalling like a baby. All right, my goodness, I do
it together. It's a football game.
Speaker 1 (03:08:37):
Well, let me let me tell you children being born.
Speaker 4 (03:08:39):
Me, it's not like it's not like your dog. So
it was very emotional about that.
Speaker 1 (03:08:46):
That happened quick. That's sooner than you think. No, No,
I'm saying, why is this as emotional? I understand why
that was emotional for him. I bet, I bet that's
but this was I'm saying, it's not like that a
long time ago.
Speaker 6 (03:09:00):
That's playing into it.
Speaker 5 (03:09:01):
I think you nailed something, right, Okay, yeah, thank you. Okay,
I mean he's really crying.
Speaker 3 (03:09:06):
But I wonder if honestly, no, I know this is
going to sound odd coming from me, and I got that, okay,
but but hear me. I'm being completely sensitive because you'll
know that's me very sensitive. And I was just saying,
is it possible that it is that his team won?
That's part of it. Yeah, Okay, of course they've been
good a lot, but they won. They won through the
(03:09:28):
playoff hard road, had to win four games after the season,
no doubt, that's that's quite an accomplishment. They are the
best team. They deserve everything. Do you think there might
have been a little bit of two This is the
season that my dog went on end, Yes, and then
my team won. Normally my dog would be here.
Speaker 6 (03:09:46):
And dods Row is a little bit low.
Speaker 7 (03:09:48):
As we get a little older, we all have low
t Do you think I think he's just a very
emotional person. I think that he can't hide his emotions
and and you know, sometimes it just out and and
he is a pro. But I just think you were
getting what's real, and that is that those emotions were
coming out. And he probably didn't even realize he was
gonna do it, but what it just it just happened.
(03:10:10):
But what's gonna happen? Because you know how football fans
are and I'm pro, hey pro kirk Herbstreet. I'd love
to hang with him.
Speaker 3 (03:10:17):
Wish he'd go to the farm with me and Pollock
I do, okay, but and Brett, but I was had
something I've done on that. But I know fans and
fans are not reasonable. You talk about a group of
unreasonable people, that's football fans, completely unreasonable.
Speaker 4 (03:10:36):
What you're gonna hear.
Speaker 1 (03:10:36):
Now is well, we always knew that he favored Ohio
State and He's acted like he didn't, but he did.
I think we saw it.
Speaker 3 (03:10:44):
Yeah, you know that's why they always thought about Ohio State,
and you're gonna that's what you're gonna have.
Speaker 4 (03:10:48):
Yeah, I mean you think did he not? Myer's not
gonna remember this well.
Speaker 1 (03:10:51):
I mean herber Street did show gg for the buck eyes.
He's always been against the Tide and we all know it.
It just proved it got his eyes out. They're celebrating
with the team he's supposed to be in Barshall, that's right.
I mean, he won't even make a pick, but he's
gonna cry about to win road. Somebody saying his sons
on the team. I know he had two sons. I
(03:11:13):
thought I thought they played at Clemson, had a bunch
of kids. I think Zach. I don't know that's what
they're saying. I don't know follow too. All of my
things played Clemson. Okay.
Speaker 3 (03:11:23):
I didn't know he had that many signs. I thought
the two signs of I thought they already played through
for Clemson.
Speaker 6 (03:11:27):
I thought he was a girl dad.
Speaker 1 (03:11:29):
All right, So y'all tell him, Ma cart Harden straight,
don't favor the bugger. Yeah, watch him squalling when they won,
Hey Bama wanted it wasn't squad, different teers, different road tad,
four sons. Okay, all right, well all right, well that
that's great.
Speaker 4 (03:11:49):
Good for them.
Speaker 3 (03:11:49):
I mean, if his son is on that team, then
that is emotional and been there, loved it and I'm
glad that they had that experience. And you know, would
you like to see him not good emotional?
Speaker 1 (03:12:07):
Greg? I'm just asking you, Greg.
Speaker 3 (03:12:08):
He was clear until that picture when made sure you
saw that he was in he was, Yeah, he was
in the clear up.
Speaker 1 (03:12:14):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (03:12:15):
But I but I think he what he does, he
does well. I think yeah, he definitely won the best.
Speaker 1 (03:12:22):
By the way, somebody said one of his son signed
with Michigan. That's it. Come on, what is that true? People?
Speaker 4 (03:12:29):
Y'all reckless on text right now?
Speaker 1 (03:12:30):
Just reckless? Yeah, and likes he said. We assume everybody
text knows what they're talking about.
Speaker 17 (03:12:35):
I do.
