This phrase that is old as time represents an attitude that people from all walks of life can live by, but especially in sports. Liz's guest for this episode is someone who took this rather literally: Entrepreneur and the former star Quarterback for the Washington Redskins, Joe Theismann.
Joe details his humble beginnings as the son of a gas station owner in New Jersey, but once he got a ball in his hands, he knew his destiny. From being the winning quarterback of the Washington Redskins during Super Bowl XVII, to succumbing to a career-ending injury, to climbing back up the ladder of success to eventually becoming a star football analyst, Joe Theismann is living proof that no path to greatness is ever simple.
