Happy pants have lots of pockets with loads of fun and curious things to find... and this week is no exception. This week Geraldine and Rebecca find Mr Chortles in one pocket - Rebecca's favourite teddy bear and her safe place. She's feeling worried that she might embarrass herself at the disco, and Mr Chortles is there to help her feel better. So if you can relate to feeling a little scared when you try something new, this week's ...
Today Geraldine's happy pants are a happy blue - the kind of blue that reminds her of warm sunny mornings, and clean fresh air. Jo's happy pants are also blue, the kind of blue that reminds her of how it feels to paddle in a stream: cool, but not cold, and fresh on her skin.
This week's episode is all about smiling. What makes you smile? When grandma sits down on the chair where you put your painting to dry? Or perhaps when Dad tre...
This week Geraldine welcomes Jo back to Happy Pants HQ after her trip down to beautiful Walpole, a town in the south west of Western Australia - home to the giant Tingle trees! Be sure to listen in to find out more about those... Plus you'll hear from some very special young guests to the program (Maddie, Ziana, Sabine and Sampson) about their holiday adventures.
Of course you'll also be treated to some fun music, interesting facts...
It seems that Geraldine and Jo have big word alerts galore in their pockets this week! Don't worry - they find out what each of the words means as they go, and have plenty of fun along the way. This week their happy pants are autumn colours, light brown like the smell of toast and orange like the colour of orange juice. What colour are your happy pants?
Explore the outdoors with Geraldine and Jo, learning about garden-dwelling crit...
Oh dear. Yesterday Geraldine forgot to close one of the windows at Happy Pants Headquarters and it rained last night. She arrived this morning to find the curtains soaked through, puddles on the floor, and the wind had blown in plenty of leaves and dirt as well as spread stuff all around the room.
Geraldine thought this would be a good time to give the curtains a wash... but when she put the detergent into the washing machine,...
Are you wearing your happy pants? We are! Today Geraldine's are green with little patches. They are long, have straps over her shoulders and cover her whole body. They are called overalls, and even have mud splatters all over them. Kate's happy pants have black and white spots, just like a big friendly dairy cow.
They are some pretty good clues about this week's theme! Be ready for lots of fun farm facts, music, a few Big Words to ...
Do you know any moon jokes? We do! They're out of this world. These jokes will eclipse all others...
This week's episode of Happy Pants is, you guessed it, all about the moon. Geraldine, Jo and some of our young friends share interesting moon and space facts, plus you'll hear m...
This week, Geraldine's happy pants are a soft yellow, the sort of yellow that makes her think of the way the sun feels on an autumn morning. Kate's are yellow, too - the kind of yellow that reminds her of the smell and taste of ripe, juicy pears. Hmm, so what's this week's episode about? Friendship!
Tune in to hear plenty of music, all about what friends can bring, and do some activities. The story you'll hear is Thank You for Bein...
This week Geraldine and Jo will be talking food, food, food - so bring your appetite, and perhaps a snack to munch on as you listen!
Find out how Anzac biscuits got their name, how the lamington was invented, and how a product that was tipped down the drain became a salty, delicious (to some) treat we now know as Vegemite! You'll also hear some fun tunes, and a reading of a wonderful story by Mem Fox called Possum Magic.
What's in Geraldine's happy pants pockets this week? A jar without a lid. Wait... here's another one! And another... and another. Rebecca checks her own pockets and also finds four jars. And a wooden spoon. What on earth do their happy pants want them to do with those? You'll need to tune in to find out...
You'll also hear a reading of Josephine Wants to Dance by Jackie French, hear music, have the chance to follow along with some ...
Big word alert! Simultaneous. When something is happening at the same time as something else.
This is a special National Simultaneous Storytime (NSS) edition of Happy Pants! For NSS, the same picture book is read around Australia at the exact same time - in schools, libraries, book stores, in homes, at special events, and more. This year's book was The Truck Cat, by Deborah Frenkel. A beautiful story about homes lost and found...
What's in Jo and Kate's happy pants this week? Something rough and crinkly, thin like paper, very long, it just keeps going and going - oh, it's a party streamer! This week's episode is all about celebrating - whether it be a birthday or special occasion.
How do you like to celebrate? Most importantly, who do you enjoy celebrating with? This week you'll hear about some of the different ways people like to celebrate around the...
This week Geraldine's happy pants are fire-engine-siren red. While Jo's are calmer - more like the silver of shiny, tinkling bells.
There are some spiky fruits in their happy pants pockets, some nuts in shells and butterflies... can they all be eaten? The fruit, sure - but the nuts would need to be cracked open. And the butterflies? Yuck - surely they aren't on the menu. What could all these clues have in common? Things aren't alwa...
What do these following three jokes have in common?
The doctor told me I broke all my fingers... it was hard to grasp!
Q. What do you find in a clean nose?
A. Fingerprints!
Q. What nails do carpenters hate to hit?
A. Fingernails!
Hmm. Could it be something to do with - fingers?!
In this week's episode Geraldine and Rebecca have found giant foam pointing fingers in their pockets. Rather than start pointing them around an...
This week Geraldine and Kate's happy pants are all sparkly and bright, like chocolate wrappers. Like Easter egg wrappers! Nothing in the pockets - probably a good thing, as chocolate would just melt in there... and then nobody could enjoy it.
On the episode you'll find out all about where Easter got its name... the origin of the Easter bunny... and there might even be a visit from the Easter bilby! You'll also hear some fun tunes a...
Today Geraldine's happy pants are soft and fuzzy, like a teddy bear! When you touch them, they feel just like a warm hug. And Jo's are covered in little paw prints, just like the ones a teddy bear would make if it walked through fresh snow.
Their happy pants pockets contain some very interesting characters - you'll have to tune in to find out who!
You'll also hear some upbeat tunes and hear a couple of stories - one about 'too many...
This week Geraldine went ice skating - and has several bruises to show for it! She needs a big cushion to sit on in her pink happy pants. Kate's happy pants are pink, too. Their happy pants pockets are filled with clues relating to change... what can this week's episode be about, then?
You'll also hear not one but two stories, songs, do some problem solving, plus we hear a few fun facts and funny opinions from our young friends, Ma...
I hope you like your crawlies creepy, because this week the topic is spiders and their webs!
What's in Geraldine and Kate's happy pants pockets this week? A street directory and a woven strap, like the seatbelt in a car and, oh! A spider web is blocking one of their pockets! They'd better not put their hand in there.
Tune in to find out interesting facts about different spiders, hear a story and some boppy music, plus learn some ne...
