Speaker 1 (00:00):
Oh.

Speaker 2 (00:01):
I think in the wide receiver whom we were able
to take away from the film that we have the
ability to take advantage of the plays that we already
have coming to us, and man, we feel like there's
a lot of explosives and opportunities for us to be
able to go and.

Speaker 1 (00:14):
Make plays.

Speaker 3 (00:17):
In the in the short game, in the.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Downfield pass and be able to impact the game and
the run.

Speaker 4 (00:22):
In the past, guys are a lot of coaches are
saying consistency.

Speaker 1 (00:27):
Why Why is it then in.

Speaker 3 (00:29):
Consist I think there's different variables in the games. Uh
what uh?

Speaker 1 (00:35):
What do we feel like.

Speaker 2 (00:36):
Certain personnels do to us when we're we're in our
packages and stuff like that. But then also our ability
to go out there and recognize what the defense is doing. Obviously,
everybody we're getting deep in the season, they have their tendencies,
but also now they're coming with tendency breakers and stuff
like that. So trying to be able to diagnose those
all at the same time so when we go out
there the next time, we're all aware of what's what
our game plan is to execute. Yeah, I think the

(01:07):
precision in how we practice, the intensity and how we
practice man should try to be able to simulate as
much as we can of what it feels like to
be in the game.

Speaker 3 (01:16):
But then also the game like movements.

Speaker 1 (01:17):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
We were as not we might not be tackling out
there on a Wednesday practice, but man to be able
to go put your your your helmet in the right
places and to be able to get your your depth
on your route. So when we're when we're going past
our first read, uh, we it feels normal timing and
it doesn't feel rough.

Speaker 3 (01:33):
So things like that and being as as precise as
we can have your teammates coaches, oh you about playing
and don't.

Speaker 2 (01:44):
Yeah we we coach kind of Lafloor and coach mcvagh
addressed in our in our offensive meetings. Uh, just that, Yeah,
we're going into dome, so trying to be aware of that.

Speaker 1 (01:54):
Uh.

Speaker 3 (01:54):
And then also then the intensity that may be there
when we get there.

Speaker 4 (01:58):
What's talking about?

Speaker 2 (02:02):
Uh shoot, a veteran leader, I think, especially in that
room where we've had some adjustments and some guys being
mixed around, and especially we've seen some some twelve personnel
probably more than uh than he's ever seen maybe in
his career here as a RAM. But the ability of
somebody who who knows what defenses are trying to do.

Speaker 3 (02:18):
And then somebody who's who's gritty and tough and a leader.

Speaker 2 (02:22):
Is somebody that we can and and what feels like
hard times lashed onto somebody who's got confidence and.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
Is is sturdy enough to be able to lead us
through this time.

Speaker 2 (02:38):
Yeah, I think somebody who who I feel like I
mentioned a lot is young Davis. Somebody who's or Davis Allen,
who's uh that's my nickname for but uh, somebody who's
a younger guy getting more reps and taking his time
in the meeting room, spending time with him at lunch,
and especially the tight end hoop.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
There there that extension of the old line.

Speaker 2 (02:56):
Room, so that the ability to understand how different pressures
are getting in blocked h where where should your eye
placement be? And then also leverage playing in the in
the trench of the summer tough and you, uh, every
inch matters in there, so trying to be as precise
as you can, and in the moments where we're not
full full hitting each other and uh those walk through moments,
to take advantage of them.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (03:19):
Yeah, Well, when I was the first part of the
year on I R and stuff like that. Higgs has
been working his way back to uh to be out
there and somebody who's man like I feel like, yeah,
there are other guys like Steve Bobula and obviously Jonah.

Speaker 3 (03:31):
Where you guys in there, you're you're.

Speaker 2 (03:32):
You're niting in the strength of like man, everybody's fighting
their own little battle to come back and go out
in the field and see somebody who's been finding that
battle for however it's six seven months while.

Speaker 3 (03:41):
I was in there.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
It gives you a lot of confidence and strength and
be like, man, I can do it too. Knew it
was a journey like America that can really see where
that in your process.

Speaker 3 (04:04):
Event you can handle that?

Speaker 4 (04:06):
And did.

Speaker 2 (04:10):
I think seeing a veteran kind of Just to the
other question of being able to talk to the young guys,
I feel like somebody, I mean who we were out
there are for a majority of the reps last year
being able to communicate on the field and then also
in our walkthrough in our practice setting. So somebody who
who still wants to be around football, so he's still
engaging himself in the walkthroughs and being asking questions, but like, yo,
what are you seeing here on this sift block, or

(04:30):
who were going up to in the backfield.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
So, uh, just somebody who.

Speaker 2 (04:34):
I mean, I feel like we were blessed to have
great veterans and somebody who shows you what it's like
to be a professional.

Speaker 4 (04:41):
John mentioned that Marcus and they just curious what if anything? Yeah,
anything I say to him, Yeah, I mean, you know,
tell him I love him obviously, as there was a
you know, it's a it's a mis and we've all
we've all made mistakes and just real fortunate that you know,

(05:03):
no one was hurt. What you know what took place,
and you know, wrap rounds around him. He addressed the
team and uh, you know be able move forward forward
on that and uh, you know, just be able to
score them however we can.

Speaker 2 (05:17):
What was it like?

Speaker 1 (05:20):
It was great? Man, This it's been it's been. Uh.

Speaker 4 (05:23):
I've shared the field with him for a lot of snaps,
a lot of football games, so it's great having him
back out there, and he's just it's been inspiring to
watch him the work that he's put in. You see
him out there on the sidelines, being outside the lines,
getting his rehabbing, just kind of pushing through all this stuff.
I mean, his off season was it was brutal, and

(05:45):
but just man, his his attitude, the.

Speaker 1 (05:48):
The attute he took into every single day of rehab
it was. It was incredible to watch.

Speaker 4 (05:52):
And we're going through uh, we're going through the move
in the facility and he's he's in a completely empty room,
pulling stuff out of box, is trying to get his
rehabit and in there by himself. It's just it's really
cool to see him back out here playing football again
and looking really good, especially.

Speaker 1 (06:10):
Had some pretty serious injury. You take away that lends
that you've been Oh man, it's yeah, it is.

Speaker 4 (06:19):
There's it's hard to put to words how difficult that is,
and especially I mean for him having to go through that,
uh you know, you lose the whole off season and
then being able to be having to be in the
building and see everything that's.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
Going on and just not being able to be a
part of it. Yeah. I tasted that as well when
I went through some stuff.

Speaker 4 (06:36):
And it's really hard to keep a positive attitude to
not feel sorry for yourself. And he's been able to
weather those storms and it's a you know, really a
credit to him, the person that he is the man
that he is. He's uh, you know, he he's because
of it happened this year and he wasn't able to

(06:57):
be a captain for us. But that's why he's been
a captain. That's why he is a labor regardless where
you got the sealance chest. That's why people look up
to Tyler Higbee and you know, he's one of the
one of those guys that exemplifies what it means to
be around.

Speaker 1 (07:12):
That's true. Be sure to.

Speaker 2 (07:14):
Return the process, Sean, giving a little.

Speaker 3 (07:19):
Bit individualized everything. Obviously, people a lot here, a lot
on your own and study.

Speaker 2 (07:31):
Share about maybe a tool or to help you really
understand where your body was at.

Speaker 4 (07:38):
Yeah, well, I think the big thing is just to
know one that you know, when I came back from
the ACL back in twenty you know, twenty eighteen, twenty nineteen,
you know, I felt like I was in a really
good place by you know, June of that year, right,
and then I've got all of June, all of July
to train and feel like I'm pushing myself and you know,
being able to you know, ramp up to a place

(07:59):
where I'm challenging my audit. The things do things that
I'm gonna want to do when we're you know, shooting
real bullets. And I think the tough thing to do
is when you're in season that gets expedited, right. You're like,
and where is good enough? Where is where is healthy
enough to go play? I think that's really what we're
talking about, is returned to performances. There's a fine line
there and finding it where that is where you can

(08:20):
come back and be the person you want to be
and be an asset for the team. And it's a
really collaborative, fluid.

Speaker 1 (08:26):
Thing for us.

Speaker 4 (08:27):
And I think a lot of it is just being
able to be out on the field, pushing yourself, being
able to have the opportunity to practice as well and
compete against people. You can't simulate football except for playing football,
and so that's that was kind of the biggest tool
for us, and when we were trying to figure out
what that was going to look like.

Speaker 1 (08:44):
You guys have had a couple of games in Detroit. Uh,
how does New Orleans go? It's loud, It's it's really loud.

Speaker 4 (08:52):
It's a it's a really unique atmosphere. Been a while
since I've been been back there, but that place has
been in in my memory, it's been some of the louder,
some of the loudest games I've ever been a part of.
So yeah, it's it's a it's a very unique place.
Excited to go back because it's it's fun to play there.

(09:12):
The fans make that really really fun place.

Speaker 1 (09:15):
Mm hm
