Simon Lim puts the spotlight on Jasmin Samat Simon - a lecturer, writer and actor. Jasmin is one of the three founding members of the theatre company, ACT 3. It was in 1981, that Jasmin and two friends, R. Ramachandran and Ruby Lim-Yang started ACT 3.  You may have even seen Jasmin in ACT 3's "The Merchant of Venice", "Macbeth" or "The Monkey King". 
You would recall Jasmin as a familiar face on local Singapore television - most notably as a host on "Aksi Mat Yoyo" and as Dr. Jaffar in "My Grandson the Doctor". Jasmin won a trophy for Best Performance by an Actor (Comedy/Light Entertainment) at the 1997 Asian Television Awards - for his role in "My Grandson the Doctor". 
Jasmin Samat Simon has been back in Singapore enjoying his role as a lecturer in an international school. You may or may not be aware that Jasmin had actually been working overseas in Indonesia as well as other countries for quite a while. 
Did you know that Jasmin has written books? He has even made his writing available in braille for the blind and visually impaired.
Jasmin is also currently the President of The Society for Reading and Literacy promoting reading, writing and storytelling in Singapore and abroad.
