Speaker 1 (00:13):
Motion sickness. Are afraid of heights now at the time
to time, I'm afraid of heights. But this is fine.
Did you look down yet? Yeah, I mean it's not bad.
We're not even half away, so we're not at the
apex yet. I think it's a little bit bad. Thank
you guys for joining us here. This hideword. This is
interesting at the Pro Bowl games, Frank, Jared, you've seen
(00:35):
Pro Bowl game before. I'm all welcome to the Pro
Bowl Games. How unique is this experienced this this year?
It's fun. Yeah. I played in twenty eighteen and played
in the actual game, and um, I'm certainly enjoying this
version much more. I won't get hit and m have
a little bit more fun playing flag football, and I
think it's a little bit more lighthearted and fun. So
it's it's been a good week. Frank will even see
(00:56):
him on the field. Oh yeah, I'm the snap okay,
the center snaps. My job is a snap and take
a knee. So riveting stuff. Okay, How pumped are you
to play out there on Sunday? I'm pumped. I mean
it's gonna be it's my first time. Um, I played
flag football when I was a kid. But other than that,
just some seven on seven. So it's gonna, you know,
bring back some memories of flag football. But I'm excited
(01:17):
a lot of a lot of sounds to the guys
out there, so it should be some fun. When we
saw the video of Frank being told he was making
his second Pro Bowl, he kind of was just like, Okay,
can I go back to work now? Jared and Almirad,
how much does that sum him up? I would say,
that's that's Frank and and everything. You know, that's Frank
all the time. I think Frank's one of the funnier
(01:38):
guys in the team. He's just his sarcasm. I like,
you know, I like sarcastic guys. So Frank's, uh, that's
that's the kind of guy he is. Um. But I
hope he's happy to be here because I am. I
think he just kind of expected to make it at
this point. All pro Pro Bowling, all right, all right,
I'm a Pro Bowl. I got treatment room. You know.
I was really excited. Keep my emotions to myself, got it. Yeah,
(02:02):
we appreciate that. I get to ask, what is your
favorite offensive play call that happened this past season? I
have my favorite. Okay, the hook and ladder at the
end with against the Packers us. The craziest part is
we had that play. You know, we had it during
that week. The whole time the defender was off me,
he wasn't pressed, so you know, I was just gonna
(02:24):
step back, easy catch and toss the Swift Ben's he
sends me emotion the guy. I don't know if he
came with me or not. I get set and he
pressed me. I'm like, hey, this play is not gonna work.
Either he picks it or it's gonna get batted down.
Don't know what's gonna happen. So the whole time, they
just wanted me to step back and catch it. But
I'm like, if I do that, it's not gonna work.
So I changed that. I jabbing real quick, went back.
(02:47):
Jared through it really fast because I mean I think
he saw it too. Yeah, and then right when I
caught at I think like the linebacker was coming towards me.
He was coming. I just threw it to Swift because
I mean I had to. There was no other option,
and it worked out perfect. It was crazy. So you
saw that Jared, he knew it was no I didn't. Yeah,
I saw the guy pressed on him and knew it
was gonna have to happen fast. Um guy dropped yeah yeah,
(03:08):
and then yeah improvised as well. So yeah, it's you
get your ball or your best players in space and
let them go to work. What was your favorite play?
Favorite play? Uh? Oh um? I mean from that same game,
the deep ball to Khalif Um. We ran a very
similar play the other way against Carolina Um a couple
(03:29):
weeks prior. Just a fun one. Gets me out of
the pocket and able to let it let it sling
a little bit, frank. He smiled when he mentioned that one.
What's your favorite in the moment? I hated the play
called brock write versus the Jets. I was pissed. I
wanted to do a QB sneak and Ben knows that. Um,
but that play was sick yew opening was in the
NFL like that never happens, And I love brock Write.
(03:51):
He's a great guy. That was cool. Okay, you mentioned
Ben Johnson. We know he was interviewing for head coaching chops.
He's creative, a genius off the offensive play call. What
was your guys reaction when you learned your offensive Fortinador
was coming back this season. I'm gonna shud a tear.
I was really I was super super happy. I thought
he was for sure gone. Um. You know he told
(04:13):
me at the end on a last day our exit meetings,
he had to you know, I showed up kind of late,
said by to him. He's like, you know, I'm gonna
give you a call. Not late. I was talking to
l and then they had a team meeting that coaches
had a meeting. So I was saw Bean, He's like,
I'm gonna call you after this whatever, go home, No call, Damn.
I started going and seeing stuff, you know, he's gonna
interview this that. I'm like, oh, he's gone. And then
(04:34):
I don't know what it was a week and a
half later. Um, I found out he's staying. So I
gave him a call and we talked. It was it
was awesome. You say, hey, coach, welcome back. Yeah. Literally,
Oh my gosh, J what was your reaction. Yeah, I
was fired up. He's obviously been extremely important to our
offensive offensive success, to my success, and um, I think
more than anything, not having to learn a new playbook again,
(04:57):
um for the second year in a row would be
would be nice and um, but having him back, he's
as important to us as anybody, and UM hope to
hope we can continue to do what we were doing
last year. Frank, Yeah, I can't say enough about the guy.
I FaceTime Jared. I was pretty stoked. I never get
a FaceTime from Frank. Yeah. I FaceTime Jared and I
sent Ben a gift. I can't remember what it was,
(05:17):
and we exchange gifts. We were excited. But yeah, he's
I can't say enough good things about the guy. So
I'm pretty stoked. Is there ever a moment in a
meeting room, team meeting before game, maybe even training camp
where he did something or wrote something up and you're like,
oh my god, this guy's like the genius. I'll tell
a story the play to pin A in the Minnesota game.
(05:40):
I don't, I mean the genius label is he's smart.
I don't. I don't want to get I don't know
if we can go like, I know it's not m
I t you know, he's he's got a computer science degree.
But a couple let's pump the brakes on the genius.
He's he's he's very smart, but no, the pay they
play at the end there. He was telling me about
the that play on Monday of that week that he
(06:02):
was excited. He was like, I think this is gonna work.
We can do it in the red zone. I really
want to get pinae um as an eligible out on
a route um. But he had to figure out how
to do it. And I think that's kind of where
his genius per se comes in, where he can um
u formulate ways, formations, motions, whatever it may be to
get guys in good positions. That's amazing. I'm surprised you
(06:23):
guys didn't mentioned the Piney catch in my favorite else's favorite. Yeah,
that was good. Miss. Where you at man? Yeah, Frank,
you didn't bring your amazing Yeah, Pine's big time. I
think he's at au He's at a lunch spot with
all his fans right now. Yeah, and his entire family.
They all made the drab dang it um. He told me,
(06:45):
Ben Johnson, behind the scenes, you played for Jane Campbell
for two seasons. Now, what is the craziest Dan Campbell
story you have for us? All right, I'll go first. Okay,
my rookie year. I don't know what game it was.
It was an away game. He goes you know, we
have our team meetings. I think it's Saturday nights. He's
talking to us and as he's talking, a tooth just
(07:06):
falls out. He's what the tooth? That's right? I don't know.
I don't know what it was, but it was a tooth,
something fell out of his mouth. We're all looking at him,
like trying to keep our cool. He picks it up. No,
but it takes like five seconds to put it in,
and then actually nothing happens and continues talking and we're
all just like we're trying not to lie. We don't
(07:27):
know how to feel. But it was that was probably
that's my Dan Campbell story. Do you all have fake teeth? No,
no real teeth? But from football? What was it? Front?
Where's that? Yeah? Yeah, don't look at it. We're gonna
right now. That'll be the cover of this this video.
(07:49):
Now your favorite Dan Campbell story? Crazy? Oh man? Um?
A lot of it was documented in Hard Knocks. Um.
I thought that stuff with the pants or the baby
powder in the pan answer was pretty funny. Um, and
it was applicable. Um. Craziest story, you know, I don't know,
like I don't have anything like crazier than that. His
(08:11):
energy is always high and he's fun to be around. Um,
I wish I could see him working out sometimes because
I don't ever see him in He must be working out,
but she is so fit, but I don't see him
in there. No, who knows. It must be at the
top where we don't see him, and he just like, yeah,
watches over all you guys, right, okay, so no one
else has see him work out? Great, have a specific
(08:32):
mom love is like he will tell these long stories
that like you think is going to come full circle
about football, and then I will just be a story,
do you have wine and can get with some one
I can't even recall because they're long. This yeah yeah,
and then it's just like what and then I'll say, oh,
(08:54):
special teams. Yeah. I think he told stories about his
dad and chickens and Texas or something like that. So that, um,
okay from me, from me outside looking to it seemed
like an incredibly special season. At what point did the
tides turn and you guys were like, hey, this is
this could be really special. Um I'll go first shoot, shoot,
(09:15):
I'm first in line. I would say for me, when
I felt it, I would say it was we beat
the Packers. We beat Aaron Rodgers at home, um, and
then after that we played the Bears away and I
feel like after Jeff got that pick six and we
you know, ended up winning that game, he missed the
extra point, and I think that was our first That
was my first road game in the league. I think
(09:37):
that was coach Campbell's first road road win, uh, since
he's been a coach at the you know. For us,
I feel like ever since that game, things just turned around. Um.
I don't know we paid after that, but we went
on a little winnings right. We won there and then
I was doing a road for us. But I feel
like the game, the game versus the Bears for me,
I don't know, you know how they feel, but it
was it felt special for me same. I think the
(09:59):
moment was Jeff's interception. Yeah, his past six was like
I think it tied the game maybe or put us
within a touchdown. I can't remember, um, but yeah, that
was like the moment where everything kind of flipped. And
from there we had the good drive at the end
of the game, TK had the big long catchum, and
then we had the couple runs there at the end
that we had to get a first down to end
of the game, and like winning in that fashion was huge,
(10:21):
and that kind of carried into the Giants game. The
Giants were playing good football into their place and beat
him pretty good. And I think that's when it was
like the light bulb went off for everybody, like, Okay,
we can kind of play with anybody, um and showed
that through the year. Yeah, I'd say Chicago because we
had been in so many close games throughout the season
and for us to go back to back and then
finish it towards the end in a close game, I
(10:42):
think that kind of showed us what it was all about.
We're going down that you're both looking down. That's crazy.
Missed the APA we were there, Well, I didn't notice it.
You were on the mica. Okay, Frank, you have some awes.
The news developing. You're gonna be a dad here in August? Wow. Wow?
(11:05):
Did you guys all text him you found that out?
Did you write the news from really? I don't even know. Yeah,
I texted him. Any advice from two non dads? None? Zero?
Good luck, thank you. That was Benet's response to you
too good, but good luck because not much you can
prepare for I guess, Yeah, we'll see. Um, I just
got to grow up. I think I've got a lot
(11:26):
of maturing to do. Okay, I'll get there by August.
Lucy making it grow up a little bit like Lucy.
She's ready, She's gonna be great. Okay, But I need
to us fishing more. I guess, I don't know. No
more fishing, no more more responsibility, more help, no more fishing,
no more hunting. No, not totally, but cut it down down.
Yeah it does, baby boy ragnail. Pick up a fishing
(11:47):
pool or a football? First, fishing pool, okay, respectful, definitely
a fishing poole. Well, we'll hold off on the football
for a little while. Fine, fine, Jared, you're getting marry.
You got engaged for the season and ye married next summer.
You're waiting, You're wait a minute. You got to plan
at all? What's your part about planning to wadding if
you are involved? Um? Nothing, yeah, not much of it. Uh,
(12:10):
we're working on it. Um. It's fun though, I enjoy it,
and um it's fun starting to plan that special day
for us. But I'm ready to take a back seat
as soon as uh as soon as things start getting
really in motion. For us. Yeah, I'm gonna what's your
big news that you want to share with all of us?
Zero big news. I'm just happy to be here. We
love that. Super excited, huge for you, dude. Thank you man, Janny,
(12:34):
you have any news? Oh no, it's okay, it's okay. No, Yeah, yeah,
it's fine. Everything's great. We're here. Um, Frank, you're the
closest in proximity to Jared at all times. Jared this season,
you told me this is maybe one of your best
seasons ever in your career. To see him have one
of his better seasons ever, what did that mean to
(12:55):
a guy like you, Frank? It's pretty awesome because one
thing I can say about Jared is, uh, he's the
same dude every single day. And we all know how
last year he was had all this outside noise and
all this stuff going on, and our team wasn't quite
where we wanted to be. But he was the same
dude every single day. And to see him flourish this
year's works hard. He does a lot of things that
(13:19):
people don't see. They all see Sunday, but he does
a lot for they minutes. Pretty special to see it
all come together. What teammates jersey. Do you guys already
have or will buy in the future for your man
caves like current current former? Oh good, I have shoot
at the end of the year. I got a lot
of the guys that were going to be free agents
(13:39):
or didn't know they're gonna be back. But a lot
of the years I got Khaliph, Josh dj Amani, Um,
Craig Reynolds. Just I don't only have so many jerseys
them right, Um I forgot I forgot a place to
put him. But yeah, I wish I could have got
more jersey. But a lot of the guys are going
to come back, so hopefully I can just keep recycling
(13:59):
every years, like you know when you like the yearbook,
like you signed the yearbook at the year like hope
play see you next year. That's the jerseys are. Yeah,
they're all signed. I didn't sign your yearbook. No, I don't.
I don't have I didn't have anybody signed my yearbook
this year. Unfortunately. Um, I am planning on getting a
jersey from dj Um he's a free agent. Hopefully get
him back. We'll see though. Oh my god, Frank, I
(14:20):
don't haven't really collected many. It's just cool getting all
played with a lot of offensive linemen. Yeah, that position
you go through a lot together. So it's just cool
kind of collecting all the guys because I played with
a lot offensive linement and uh, it's cool kind of
collecting those guys. Every week we talk like Tank Freeley, whoever,
even just every all the this coaching start, how tough
the offensive line is, How tough is Frank with the
(14:41):
toe intry, very tough. Yeah, we don't want to remind
the toe injury. He fought through that all year. I
think last year was disappointing for him not being able
to be out there with us, and then this year
having a similar injury and then you know, kind of
deciding he wasn't gonna let it stop him from playing,
and um, we all see that. It means a lot
to us. Certainly means a lot to me, and um
kind of you know, makes guys want to go a
little bit more during through through some pain that may
(15:02):
be lesser than that. So uh, he's he's meant a
lot to our team in our offense. Yeah for me, Uh,
you know, I feel like if you don't really know
Frank or talk to him, you wouldn't really know that
he was injured unless you saw him in the room.
So that's something I really respect. As the players, guys
that go through things that you don't really hear about it,
they just you know, they take it upon themselves. They
go through it, they take care of themselves. But at
the end of the day, they're going to play on Sunday.
(15:24):
And that's that's something I respect about Frank and you know,
keep a bunch of other guys in our team, both
offensive line. Like in our room, all we do is complain.
That's how we get through and everything. Okay, Like we
embrace the suck and we complain about this ye to
each other. Though, who's the biggest complainer. I'm there, I'm
up there. I don't know. That's tough. We're all pretty
(15:44):
It's hard to throw somebody in the bush. Guys. How
much time you seen Alminron grow over the last two
seasons these veterans in my league? Yeah, a lot. I
think you know, when he first got here as a rookie,
uh kind of knew what type of player he was
gonna be. But um, I think this past offseason, you know,
that second year jump is kind of where you see
it come and certainly for him, it was the same
(16:05):
way and um as as reliable as anyone I've been around,
and um I hope to play with him for a
long time. He's been a dog since day one. I
mean I haven't even like day one. Yeah dog yeah,
and he just and not even when he does on
the field. What people don't see about him is it
is impressive. Dog. Yeah, there's a great, great idea. He
(16:28):
appreciate you and you guys blushed a little bit and
just talk as much about each other as much. Any
nice words for screw you big time to screw you.
See you on the Faull Pine. That's all I got
for you, guys. Oh it's great. Thanks guys. The Lions
Cruising Man out Doors
