In Openhartig spreekt Hart van Nederland-journalist Dylan Kuijpers met mensen die zich op sociale media inzetten voor de maatschappij, of een bijzondere boodschap hebben. Hun persoonlijke en vaak kwetsbare verhaal maakt deze boodschap extra speciaal.

Het komt maar weinig voor dat mensen aan een vrouw vragen waarom ze getrouwd is met een man. Maar de 40-jarige Toos uit Blaricum kreeg die vraag de laatste maanden opvallend vaak. Toos is "100 procent lesbisch", maar toch getrouwd met haar man Kaj (44), zo legt ze uit op TikTok. Maar Kaj is namelijk niet altijd een man geweest. Dit bijzondere verhaal staat centraal in deze tweede aflevering van Openhartig.
Zeker veertien jaar lang rondlopen met oorpijn, wisselende stemmingen en zelfs epileptische aanvallen, waarbij het onduidelijk is waar dit vandaan komt. Uiteindelijk kom je er op 20-jarige leeftijd achter dat je een hersentumor hebt. Het overkwam Myrthe, die een jaar geleden te gast was in deze serie. Maar ze heeft goed nieuws gekregen, en daarom blikken we, samen met haar, vooruit op de toekomst.
