Speaker 1 (00:01):
This is my recital.
Speaker 2 (00:03):
I think it's very vital.
Speaker 1 (00:06):
That's right on top. That's right on top.
Speaker 3 (00:13):
Oh, it's one of my favorite times of the day.
Coach Doherty joining me here on the program. Coach, I,
I kind of feel like, I kind of feel like
we have to have a eulogy for for what happened
in New York City last night. What are your what
are your thoughts on this, Coach.
Speaker 1 (00:31):
Yeah, it's really uh, it's it's very concerning to me
as a proud New Yorker, but it also is concerning
just as an American that we're allowing touching, outright socialist
to be elected into the largest, most populated city in
(00:57):
the country.
Speaker 3 (00:59):
It's true, it is.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
It is.
Speaker 3 (01:01):
It's very true when you when you think about this.
But at the same time, people wanted it, people got
it right.
Speaker 2 (01:12):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:12):
Uh, you know, I I can only hope that it
gets so bad so quick that they want to quick reversal. Yeah.
I think that otherwise, if it's just creeps in deeps
in like like socialism has been creeping into our country
(01:35):
for decades, yes, and and you know that's the gateway
to communism. It's like, I don't want to wish harm
on anybody, but it's like you want it to happen fast.
So so the change is so dramatic that people wake
up and see that this is not the way to go.
Speaker 3 (01:59):
What do you do you think the end game is
on this? In terms of this is somebody who over
the course of a year just suddenly popped up right,
nobody ever heard of him before, nobody ever understood what
what what he was talking about, And and yet you
have a group of is this is this like Beatlemania?
Is this like one of these things where it's like
(02:19):
it's just a hot thing to go and be a
part of. What What do you think, especially for young
people in New York, I can't imagine that they're going
to be able to suddenly just afford a wonderful you
know apartment, uh you know in in in a nice
part of the neighborhood. I mean, how does how does
that kind of come to pass? It seems like all
promises and no no substance.
Speaker 1 (02:43):
This is a culmination of, to me, the socialistic communistic playbook. Yeah,
they play the long game, Brett. This is not like, oh,
we're just gonna, you know, do it over a four
year period. They've been playing this long game and indoctrinating
the youth of our country for decades. Yeah, it starts
(03:08):
in the school system.
Speaker 3 (03:09):
Yep, it's very true. And and and and look there
there's no great shakes with that going on.
Speaker 1 (03:15):
All right, I talked about this before.
Speaker 3 (03:17):
Sure, sure, yeah, we have coach Doherty joining us here
on the on the program. By the way, coach is
a coach in a variety of ways. And talk a
little bit about your coaching coach.
Speaker 1 (03:30):
Well, I'm an executive coach, keynote speaker, written a book
called The Rebound, coming out with a journal in the
next month, the Timeout Journal. And to me, it's all
about trying to improve your circumstances. As a player, I
always wanted to get better today, and as a coach,
I wanted our teams to get better each and every day.
(03:51):
And I think that you know, to me, it comes
down to, you know, systems and culture, putting the right
systems in place in the culture to support your talent.
And and you know, I can be reached at Darty
Coaching dot com. That's d O h e r t
Y Coaching dot com.
Speaker 3 (04:10):
Let me ask you on the back end of this, Uh,
you know, you've certainly seen great sports programs. You've been
parts you've been a part of great sports programs, championships, Uh,
you know, all that great all that great accomplishment stuff.
Do you think that New York is getting knocked down
and out? Same thing with Jersey, same thing with Virginia.
(04:33):
Like when you think about this, is this the dominoes
that are falling? Or can can it be stopped? Can
can people uh to turn this turn this ship around?
Speaker 1 (04:44):
It's it's not looking good. You know, if you look
at the numbers here here and I've said this a
long time ago, in my late twenties. I'm a fundamental guy.
I'm a coach. You look at numbers. Okay, they they
have they're producing big numbers. Ye right, we're not. Back
in the eighties, people started stopped having big families. It
(05:12):
was in vogue for you know, women to work and
have one point two children and one point two dogs
and you know, a house and two jobs. And part
of that is because we had to afford it. But
part of that was kind of the brainwashing of America.
(05:34):
And so just by sheer numbers, all right, the socialistic
Muslim especially community is growing and the conservative Christian movement
is retreating in terms of numbers and the Muslims community.
(05:54):
You see anywhere you go, they're taking over our country
and that's their goal. They want to take over the
West and dominate the West. And you know, until we
stand up as a nation, you know, especially conservative Christians,
(06:16):
and grow our base and stand up for our values.
To me, I don't care. I don't. You're welcome, like
you know, my grandparents were immigrants, but we came to
a country that was founded on the constitution, on a republic,
and to me, that's the core of our country that personally,
(06:42):
I don't want to see changed.
Speaker 3 (06:44):
So let me ask this.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
Don't don't come here and change our country. You know,
they come here immigrants again, my grandparents. Sure, because this
is a better place, right, it is the best country
in the world. But don't. Let's not lose the republic
that we are, our constitutional values.
Speaker 3 (07:07):
Now, now that's a great point. Now I gotta, I
gotta send you off with this. Guess what happened this afternoon?
Just like magic Coach, just like magic, not not magic Johnson,
but just like magic. Suddenly, Chuck Schumer and Hakeem Jeffries
(07:27):
send a letter to President Trump saying, we demand a
meeting immediately so we can reopen the government.
Speaker 1 (07:36):
Yeah. Yeah, well, you know they were not going to win.
You They're they're they're negotiating with the real tough guy.
They're fake tough guys. You know, Bob McKillop, the coaching Davidson,
I had breakfast yesterday and we talked about you know,
there's fake tough guys. Yeah, and then there's tough guys.
(07:58):
You know, Trump is a tough guy. They're fake tough guys.
And he's like, Okay, you wanna, you wanna. You know,
I'm not gonna blink first. And then you know, I
think after elections and you know, they they probably have
a little confidence now and feel like they can go
back to work because they have some people in position
(08:19):
and be able to influence the people on the ground.
Speaker 3 (08:23):
I'm wondering. I'm wondering in the in the final few
moments here, I'm wondering if Donald Trump's going to have
them over to the Oval office and then utter the
famous words, now you just can't leave.
Speaker 1 (08:34):
Now she can Now she's can't leave. Yeah. I just
you know, I just pray for our.
Speaker 3 (08:42):
We have to intrigue absolutely.
Speaker 1 (08:44):
You know, and for for the young people to really
study history. Socialism doesn't work, does not It does not work.
It demotivates people and you end up working for the
people in power. I mean, they flip the switch. They
need you to get them in office, and all of
(09:05):
a sudden, the most vulnerable are putting harm's way out
in the streets. And then corruption sets in because prices
are fixed, so there's a black market. And I mean
you just study Venezuela, you study North Korea? Do you
study the different countries? And we don't want to be that.
Speaker 3 (09:27):
So where do people go to get coach coach?
Speaker 2 (09:30):
Yeah, go to Dherty Coaching dot com, d O H
E R T Y Coaching dot com, do executive Coaching,
keynote talks, and we'd love to have a conversation about
being a.
Speaker 1 (09:42):

Speaker 3 (09:43):

thanks so much. It's been a real pleasure.
