Speaker 1 (00:00):
You were listening to the Wes D. Walker show. You
used to spending nights out in the barroom.
Speaker 2 (00:06):
It's Wes Licka was the only love I know.
Speaker 1 (00:12):
But oh I went way ahead to stay on track.
Speaker 3 (00:17):
Yeah, it's okay, and Walker bring it home, Come on,
here we go, rescue.
Speaker 1 (00:23):
Me reaching for the bottom? Wm is it glass brass
a Brandy hot it down?
Speaker 2 (00:35):
Only on Sports Radio ninety two point seven FM WFNC.
Speaker 4 (00:39):
It's a no for me dog.
Speaker 3 (00:56):
Western Walker. Sports Radio ninety two to seven WFNZ. We
got one more outre to go, and we're broadcasting live
still from the channel a vaulted studio. CEV Injury Law
dot Com. CEV Injury Law dot Com. One call. That's all.
The Carolina's personal injury lawyer, Seth Tumbling gave him a call.
You know, I I knew that was gonna happen. Seth Well,
(01:19):
flattery Jack, pull up the exact happening in this Seth
Trimble situation. I got it right here. It's crazy, man,
it's also scary. I I don't think you need to
turn down the volume if you're a little squeamish, but
the imagery, it's pretty frightening.
Speaker 5 (01:34):
What you got so uh. This is a report from
the Field of sixty eight. It says North Carolina senior
guard set Tremble suffered a broken bone injury in his
left forearm on Sunday when a piece of workout equipment
fell on him in the weight room. Quote he was
grabbing the lad bar to stretch. He squatted down, pulled
it down, and the machine fell on him. A source
(01:54):
told Field of sixty eight it wasn't bolted down at all.
He was pinned underneath and it took four guys to
get it off of them.
Speaker 1 (02:01):
End quote. That is as that's scary.
Speaker 5 (02:06):
Yeah, Carolina should be sued out the ass, all right, guys.
Speaker 1 (02:12):
I mean imagine had he gone in there to do
some work individually and his teammates weren't in there with them.
I don't even want to mess what I'm saying. So
many what ifs.
Speaker 3 (02:20):
Channel the vault to get ready for a phone call.
Seth Tremble might call you, and honestly, I look, I
don't I don't know what's gonna happen legally with all
of this stuff. You know, the equipment, the people that
installed the way.
Speaker 1 (02:34):
I forgot about that. That's even more money that's what
I'm saying. You just try to get my man some
money around here. Those are the.
Speaker 5 (02:40):
Main people that are going to take the brunt of this,
I think, is the people that installed the equipment, because
how do you not bolt down to bullet down?
Speaker 1 (02:47):
What are you doing? Come on, are you doing? Man? Really?
Just bolt it down? Well that's the thing too, So yeah.
Speaker 3 (02:51):
I mean Carolina being negligent, the people that are supposed
to install the weight room equipment being negligent not bolding
it down. And there's yeah, clearly there's no excuse. And unfortunately,
this is how problems get fixed. There's not anything to
fix until there's a problem. Yep, and we got a
problem now? Is that try?
Speaker 1 (03:11):
Well? I mean, you talk about it.
Speaker 3 (03:12):
It could have been so much worse, Like, seriously, this
is absolutely terrible with Seth Trimble and the fact that
he's quote unquote only out for six to eight weeks
far easy for it for me to say it, like,
with what Seth Trimble is experiencing, but only being out
six to eight weeks, it feels like it could have
been worse in a lot of different areas for people
to bring that weight off of him while he was
(03:34):
pinned down and now has to had surgery. Seems to
be in good spirits from all reports from everybody covering
North Carolina basketball. And then I mean, clearly this doesn't
matter nearly as much the basketball side of it. Because
somebody didn't bolt something down. We're going to be without
our best perimeter defender, slash leader, slash most experienced player
(03:54):
for non conference bleeding into conference play. Yeah, come on, now,
this is the season too that we're doing some stuff.
They're gonna be treating him like a king around there.
He's gonna come back. He's gonna have people he never
even knew higher up. I hate step what you name?
Speaker 6 (04:09):
Man?
Speaker 1 (04:10):
You need us to take care of dinner? Hey, we
got you what you need. It's gonna be. Yeah.
Speaker 3 (04:14):
What I will say too, is like Seth the kind
of guy. He is just an all time good dude.
And I you know, it's one of those things where
maybe somebody else would make a bigger stink of it.
Speaker 1 (04:25):
I don't know what's Seth.
Speaker 3 (04:26):
You don't need to, Yeah, exactly, That's the thing. It'd
be different if they were fighting it. Yeah, I don't
expect anybody. Don't like them.
Speaker 1 (04:33):
Phone calls is gonna be coming in fast and furious
once they found that loss, because I'd be laughing and smiling,
and I'd be a good guy too. I said, Man,
I love y'all. I love Carolina, but I'm about to
sue the bleep but bleep out of y'all. It's going
to open about thirteen more.
Speaker 3 (04:46):
Ben and Jerry's Seth Trimble about to be rolling in
the dough slash cookie dough with Ben and Jerry's not
even asked.
Speaker 1 (04:53):
For my name to be on the court, even though
I know I won't get it, but I'm asked for
everything in the sun.
Speaker 5 (04:57):
This should be Seth. That would be the ultimate Roy Williams.
Speaker 3 (05:03):
Well, maybe you get the paint Roy Williams has the court,
you get the Seth Tremble restricted area.
Speaker 1 (05:09):
That's right. Yeah, I'm gonna get something. Now.
Speaker 3 (05:10):
I need to know, Okay, what what would it take?
What would you sacrifice to get your name on the
court at your favorite university? Seven four five, seven ninety
six ten? Would you take fifty thousand, one hundred thousand,
two hundred thousand or would you rather have Wes Bryant
paint a wait forest like? That's something that I don't
(05:34):
know what the price would be. I have zero clue.
What would it take. Wes talk to me with the
figure that you'd be looking at.
Speaker 1 (05:39):
Oh for money? Yeah?
Speaker 3 (05:40):
Oh man, Well so you either get blank, or you
get your name on the court, or you get your
name in the end zone.
Speaker 1 (05:50):
Yeah. No, I'm taking that check, man, Yeah, I take
that check.
Speaker 3 (05:53):
And then and then with that, so five thousand dollars,
you're taking the cash more so than having your name.
Speaker 1 (05:58):
No, I mean ye, with this, this is the game.
This is the game. For me to not think about
having my name an end zone, I think it would
happen zone. Man, that's hard because I feel like, all right,
it would have to start at six figures. But then
I'm like, seventy five thou fifty thousand is a nice
piece of change. Twenty five thousands a nice piece of change.
(06:19):
I think for me to start forgetting about having my
name in the end zone, I think we'd have to
probably talk about ten grand a starter.
Speaker 3 (06:28):
You're honestly, you're the person that this needs to happen to.
All you need is a little change. I mean that's it. Hey,
here's ten thousand, We'll make all this go away. Flounder,
I need to know from you. I feel like I
don't know if there's an amount of money that you
would choose over having Tony pegs on the Roy w
nice so.
Speaker 4 (06:49):
Many things at Carolina.
Speaker 5 (06:51):
No, I wouldn't. I wouldn't do it to Roy. It
would be in keenan, okay.
Speaker 3 (06:54):
Fair, especially for you. Yeah, so oh the Tony PAGs
are Gyle.
Speaker 4 (07:00):
That'd be tremendous.
Speaker 3 (07:00):
Oh that sounds great. It's got a ring to it.
A million you taking a million?
Speaker 5 (07:07):
Oh yeah, probably for podcast purposes.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
But this is but look at who we're talking to. Man,
this is a different the fact, it's very different that
that that blood runs Carolina.
Speaker 3 (07:19):
Imagine having Fiddy. But oh my god, I've been a
good question asked. I don't know if there's an amount
of money that he would take if you told Fiddy
all right, man, look, we'll put your name right next to.
Speaker 1 (07:31):
It, immortal in Carolina history.
Speaker 3 (07:34):
You'll share a name the Roy Williams, Josh Fitty Marlowe
court at Dean Eas Smiths.
Speaker 1 (07:38):
Yeah. I don't think he's I don't know that there's
a dollar amount that he would take.
Speaker 5 (07:43):
See, I disagree. He would say that it's disrespectful. He
would he he would just say, he would say, name
some sort of building on campus, because I don't want
to disrespect anything or something in the football program, because
he'd say, the football program hasn't done anything for me.
Speaker 3 (08:00):
Oh my god, this is seven four five, seven ninety
six ten. Ye people enjoy the name on the court.
Seth Trimple. Jim may Fat Sugar Shorts says, I would
take nothing less than one point six seven million dollars.
Speaker 1 (08:11):
That's what he would take, very specific number. Oh RBW,
don't get it twisted. Now we're doing this just for
the game. That is clearly not the figure that I
would settle for in this lawsuit.
Speaker 3 (08:21):
Yeah, with the Seth Trimple stuff, you would ask for more. Yeah,
oh yeah. Wes Bryant would be carrying, he'd be carried out.
He'd be carried everywhere on a chair, being fed grapes,
being kept cool with palm leaves with the crown.
Speaker 1 (08:34):
Have an assistant. I'm not talking to you. You talk
to them and they'll tell me what you said, and
then I'll tell them and then they'll get a hand
to the face. Immediately. Anytime I try to speak to
Wes Bryant.
Speaker 5 (08:43):
I see the bagel guy just killed this this bit
here because he says, ten K, remember, Uncle Sam is coming.
Speaker 4 (08:50):
To get you. Why do we have to be that guy?
The taxes guy?
Speaker 5 (08:55):
Like my dad's this guy on game shows whenever people
win new cars. Well, it's great now, but you're gonna
have to pay taxes on it. Who cares you won?
It's a good price and car property tax in that
it's a great point. No, there is that guy. Yeah,
And probably dads do feel like that. They feel like
those types of guys like, hey, congratulations, you want a
(09:15):
brand new car. Can you imagine somebody actually winning that
and saying, yeah, but I gotta pay taxing. The confetti
is falling, everybody's cheering you on, and it's had.
Speaker 1 (09:24):
A house or a lottery too. That's when people turn
into financial planners when they talk.
Speaker 3 (09:28):
About the lottery. Yeah, yeah, the whole that's my favorite. Yeah,
no doubt about it. I wouldn't be doing all that.
I'm invested and I'm gonna do all that.
Speaker 1 (09:35):
If I get a lump, I'm fine.
Speaker 3 (09:36):
Hundhim is shut up. What are you gonna do? Well,
I'm gonna establish a nice four on one.
Speaker 1 (09:40):
Guy right with five hundred millions if you would have
made that in your life any other way.
Speaker 3 (09:46):
No, I don't need that car nothing. I'm gonna invest it.
That's what I'm gonna do. Yeah, buy some stocks that
I can believe in. All Right, seven oh four or
five seven oh ninety six to ten. That's the FanDuel
tax line. Feel free to get in on the conversation.
Charla Horns play the Milwaukee Bucks tonight. Ryan Kalkbrenner is
questionable due to personal reasons. We have a pretty good
idea on what those personal reasons are. Congratulations to the
(10:08):
kulk Printer family. Yes they I believe they just had
the Is it today that they had their child? If
I'm not mistaken, But yes, that's the reason for the
personal reasons that Ryan Kalkbrenner is questionable. But I mean,
if he doesn't suit up tonight against Milwaukee, it's a
pretty big loss for a center that they've depended on
against this team who is excellent at the rim. They
(10:30):
take a lot of shots in the paint. That's the
Janis effect, and they hit a lot of shots in
the paint. That's the y Honess effect. If you wanted
to give Yannas the MVP. You could not a lot
of people talking about him because of what Luca is
doing in LA. But Johannis you got a case for
him if you wanted to give it to him, especially
with the two way, could win.
Speaker 1 (10:48):
One of those types of guys.
Speaker 3 (10:49):
I mean, he's going to be one of the best
basketball players of all time. That championship did a lot
for him, and he's always fantastic. I mean he's questionable too,
So don't know if there's any like load man management
whatever with these stars. I know people hate that about
the NBA, but would be a big loss here. Also,
no LaMelo, no Brandon Miller. It's you know, this is
(11:10):
what we're Konka Nimple show tonight. Yeah, this is what's bridges,
this is what we're used to. What are you watching
for tonight with some of those injuries.
Speaker 1 (11:16):
Yeah, I mean I just want to see obviously, like
I said to Kanka Nipples show man, what is he
going to do? How much more can he further his
case for Rookie of the Year. He's on a historic
pace right now. He's doing things that have not been
done before by rookies. And we talked about that first
player in NBA history, first player, not only first rookie,
first player to total one hundred and fifty plus points,
(11:37):
thirty plus threes in his first ten games of his career.
So that's what we want to see tonight.
Speaker 7 (11:43):
Man.
Speaker 1 (11:43):
That's that's the question about com When you talk about
some of the preseason hyperbole saying that, hey, this guy
could end up being an Olympian in the twenty twenty
eight game, well, you know, this is kind of those
moments where it's really kind of just you and like
I said, Myles Bridges to apply the offense and do
all the other things. And so yeah, man, those moments
(12:04):
where you could feel like we have a franchise player
on our hands.
Speaker 3 (12:08):
Well, speaking of Conkinipple, I don't know how many people
pay attention to the NBA dot Com Rookie Ladder, but
it's always something fun to check in on as the
season goes on.
Speaker 1 (12:17):
You know who number one on the list is.
Speaker 3 (12:19):
It's that man, conkk Nipple. He climbs the ladder. He
was four last week, he was four last week. Now
he's number one. He's a head of Cedric Coward with
Memphis at two, Cooper Flag at number three. Who's been
playing better VJ. Edgecombe at number four, who broke onto
the scene in a monster way, but he falls down
to four. And how about that another hornet at number five,
(12:40):
Ryan Coulkbrenner. Two hornets in the top five of the
NBA dot Com Rookie Ladder, and Conkannipple is number one.
And it's not some weak draft that we just saw.
We had the generational talent in Cooper Flag. I thought
Dylan Harper was excellent. Love them, got hurt, not going
to be on the list.
Speaker 1 (12:57):
VJ.
Speaker 3 (12:57):
Edgecombe, you know how much I loved him too, is
a very good rookie. I think that's the thing people
need to pay attention to. It's not the t Jon
Salon rookie class that kank Nipple is number one in Okay,
that is a class that didn't see the third overall
pick in Reed Shepherd play all that much. You're talking
about Alex sar the number two pick who didn't impress
(13:18):
a ton, then he's playing well this year. Zachary resa
Che who is good but good role player.
Speaker 1 (13:25):
Olloa candy status. Oh no, no, no, don't do that.
I'm just saying that's the fact that you just you
don't even know him you don't hear anything about him,
you don't see him unless you're really looking for He's
not the most exciting, like he's he's an NBA Sikoh
type of player, Like just a great three and D
You're gonna make a lot of money, gonna stay in
the league for a while.
Speaker 3 (13:43):
But is he your go to guy, your top two
three options? He's not a superstar?
Speaker 1 (13:48):
Who is this again? That's right exactly.
Speaker 4 (13:53):
Alone.
Speaker 3 (13:55):
Yeah, Solon's nowhere to be found here. In fact, he's
playing in Greensborough as well. But this is the point, man,
Like this is is a great draft class, and they're
delivering on the goods right away. So it's not one
of those where we thought they were gonna be good
and it's they've really stalled out. Everybody's playing quite well
and conk Nipple is number one on that list. So
when we do the doomsday stuff, it's here, man. There's
(14:18):
plenty to wallow about. Okay, if you want to live
in misery, you got your beds of misery to go
lay in if you want to. And every once in
a while I take a nap in those beds, I do,
but I wake up and I see con Ca nipple
and that calch that he's got that flows when he
walks up and down the court, hitting triples all over
the place, and I'm reminded that, hey, this is gonna
(14:41):
be a good day.
Speaker 1 (14:41):
Man.
Speaker 3 (14:42):
We got a bright future with not only him but
Ryan Cochran or ency on James number one on the
rookie line.
Speaker 1 (14:47):
I was going to ask you, you know what type
of matches is on a bed of misery? Better nails?
That's gonna be on tonight though, Blood and glad. That's aw,
blood and gut. I hate that. I can't. Rice is
so excited. He cannot wait.
Speaker 3 (15:01):
It's basically like watching live action saw.
Speaker 1 (15:05):
He can't wait. He's like, yo, man, we got to
make sure we got everything done. It's blood and gust tonight,
Baby damn blood. Are you worried about him at all?
Or enjoy it too? All? Right? I know you do.
Speaker 3 (15:17):
I just that's so much blood. The piercing, right, Like
I can handle regular wrestling and UFC and all that.
And you get some blood there too, and it's a
little but just the piercing, the metal. The tax tasers
all kind of taste. Now tasers would be kind of funny.
I might be into the tashooters. How are these people alive?
Speaker 1 (15:40):
Yeah, I mean i'd say the same thing, man, I'm like,
you know, they put it in. But he's also been
telling me all the different things he would do to
prepare for this if he were in this event. He
said he would be going to church, he'd be praying,
meditate and scared, worried, all types of stuff if he
was participating in this tonight.
Speaker 3 (15:56):
On Sunday service the pastor every single Sunday, remember pray
for Bryce cuz they're bringing up the thumb tacks this way. Baby,
we need Jesus on our side right here, right now. Amen, Lord,
we need you for blood. It's the Live Wire. Coming
up next on Western Walker, it's time.
Speaker 2 (16:16):

the official home of the Charlotte sports fan Get.
Speaker 8 (17:00):
Passive, People, Get pass.
Speaker 3 (17:01):
A couple more segments to go on Western Walker Sports
Rated ninety two seven WFNZ. Smoke comes in here, we
start having a good time.
Speaker 1 (17:20):
Man.
Speaker 3 (17:20):
You can hear Smith. I always always enjoy it. I'm
happy when he comes here. I know he always gets
us a little loosey, goosey. You can have a good
time to smoke yourself on the Kyle Bailey Show from
three to six. We'll pass that baton off here in
just a moment again. Kyle Bailey with you every single
weekday from three to six pm plus. Go check him
out on wfnz dot com. Great interview with Al Wallace yesterday,
(17:42):
got some sound that we repurposed today with some strong
words for not only Nick Gorton, but really the lack
of leadership on this Panthers team. These guys need to
get right for Atlanta this week. Man, I don't want
another one of these week long, same show, stuff of
what's happening with the Panthers, Dom and gloom.
Speaker 1 (18:01):
All that doom and gloom. Man, the only doom I
want to hear is MF. Doom. Okay, I don't want
to hear any more doom.
Speaker 3 (18:07):
Yes, I love it. It makes me happy. It makes
me happy that we've put you on to MF.
Speaker 1 (18:13):
Doom.
Speaker 3 (18:14):
And the fact that we did it before the Apple commercial,
that's right, the fact that we did it before. Now
you can always say I've been there, man, these app
they're mainstreamers. I've been underground. That's what Flounder gets to
say to that. There you go, all right, you're ready
to go here, Flounder, Yeah, play that music for me
(18:35):
in the West, the West down wise, what you got
for the people?
Speaker 5 (18:42):
All right, Well let's start with a moment earlier in
the show that needs to be reviewed.
Speaker 1 (18:47):
Walker think I've seen the movie. It's a fun I mean,
I'm not there. I was high up there.
Speaker 4 (18:53):
What happened?
Speaker 3 (18:54):
I just I don't know. I didn't know I could
get that high arresting THC people. I hear you, I
got the face.
Speaker 5 (19:00):
I mean, you're giving Willie a run for his money. Yeah,
I again, extended period of time.
Speaker 3 (19:05):
Let me hear it again. Let's see. Let's see. I
don't know if I can reach that high again. You
think I've seen the movie. It's a fun I mean,
I'm not there. I don't know how I got up there. Man,
Maybe I got maybe I got kicked in the nether
region or something.
Speaker 1 (19:20):
I don't know. I didn't feel it. That was tough.
Speaker 4 (19:22):
And hello to our guy, Forky. I'm trash.
Speaker 1 (19:25):
Yeah, it's so good.
Speaker 3 (19:26):
I don't know how every sports radio station in the
world isn't playing that when they just criticized something to
no end.
Speaker 1 (19:31):
I need to hear more from.
Speaker 4 (19:32):
We should have used that more during the last few years.
Speaker 1 (19:35):
Honestly, we should have. Also. I'm willing now.
Speaker 3 (19:38):
I'm willing to use that for terrible takes that I
have if we want to bring that out anytime. Trash,
I love I do, I'll raise my hand high. What
else you got flouted?
Speaker 5 (19:49):
All right, let's go to Dave Canalis. He was talking
on I think this was yesterday. I'm not sure exactly
which press conference this was. He does so many of them,
but he was asked about, oh boy, j C. Horn
falling on the touchdown to Chris Alave. We have not
talked much about this, but let's get into it.
Speaker 7 (20:08):
To play with jac Horn and Lave down the field.
Was that a matter of technique of turning not turning
his back to him or.
Speaker 4 (20:18):
You know, the way he was positioned.
Speaker 7 (20:20):
Yeah, well you could actually have to we have to
look up and now if he does bump into you,
it's easy to fall.
Speaker 1 (20:25):
I think, so it could be just a leverage thing.
Speaker 9 (20:27):
And I know also as you can attest to it,
when you get a player who's as fast as Chrystal
Lave and he's running at full tilt and you're moving
at the same rate, and Jac is really fast, and
we also understand that, but any little incremental movement, you know,
and they had kind of had their hands tied up
in Jac's feet kind of slipped on him and went
down and Tyler shuck through an amazing pass on that
play as well. So, you know, to speak of the
(20:49):
whole play in general, like they picked up a really
good pressure and blocked it well, and then they had
the one on one opportunity made a throw and you know,
sometimes it's like that, you know, but it does it
starts with you know, full work technique, leverage and all that.
JC to be the first one to tell you'd love
to have that one back.
Speaker 5 (21:04):
All right, Well, you hear Eugene Robinson there. That is,
of course Panther talk that they do every single week.
But he was discussing j. C. Horn falling down there.
What did you guys think of this moment? Because remember
JC was a little fired up, thought there should have
been some offensive pass interference there. The Panther fans in
the stadium also agreed on that.
Speaker 4 (21:24):
What was your thought on that play?
Speaker 1 (21:26):
Yeah, they did show a ton of angles where I
could see like exactly what happened because it did look
like a push off. But then you heard some people
saying that he sold it, So I'm not sure there.
But I did think, you know, frankly, that he had
good covers through most of that play. He was in
the hip pocket, he was where it needed to be.
It was just an unfortunate ending. But I can't make
(21:48):
the you know, determination, if he was selling or if
Chris Olive did indeed push off.
Speaker 3 (21:54):
Yeah, I mean watching it back a couple of times,
it felt like a push off from Chris Olive. But
I'll say this, Jac Horn wasn't good in this game.
About to play a little freaky Friday, because I know
you are not a fan of jac Horn as much
as everybody else is, and I am one that still
thinks he is an excellent football player, not a great
showing from him on a lot of different areas. I mean,
straight up, there were I saw Josh Snorris tweet this
(22:17):
out too. He was the closest defender on quite a
few big plays. You saw him fall down twice, And okay, yes,
I think both things can be true. Falling down isn't
going to happen on every single deep shot that people
take against J. C.
Speaker 1 (22:32):
Horn.
Speaker 3 (22:33):
Okay, he's gonna be upright on most of those plays.
But also you got to find a way to keep
your feet moving and then battle at that top speed.
Because Chris Lave didn't fall, he somehow was able to
keep it going. Again, I thought there was a little
bit of a push off there. I don't think it
was crazy egregious. I thought it should have been called.
At the same time, I can't say that I defended
jac Horn's play, and by the way Jace had he
(22:55):
took a lot of responsibility after this game too, says
everything that I showed out there, I am responsible for
like I can't do that. I got to stay upright
on some of these plays.
Speaker 1 (23:05):
And so J C.
Speaker 3 (23:06):
Horn not absolving himself, nor will a bunch of the
Panthers fans. I just hope he doesn't fall on some
of these big plays anymore. I hope I don't think
he will that it seems pretty fluky. Also got to
stay upright.
Speaker 1 (23:16):
All right.
Speaker 5 (23:16):
Speaking of a man that fell but has gotten back up.
How about Bill Belichick. He was talking to the media
yesterday and getting ready for the game against wake Forest.
He was asked about the Giant's vacant coaching job.
Speaker 1 (23:29):
And when you got here, you said you're not coming
here at lead. But as soon as the Giants job
came over yesterday.
Speaker 7 (23:35):
Your name he got.
Speaker 1 (23:35):
Thrown out there. I'm ser sure with other NFL jobs,
what is what is your message to players? To recruits?
I'm sure people are asking me about that, even who
want to come in for you?
Speaker 7 (23:45):
Right? For for us?
Speaker 6 (23:47):
That's all I got this week.
Speaker 1 (23:50):
Has anyone asked you the players? Why the time? I've
been done this real before.
Speaker 6 (24:02):
So I'm focused on Wait for us, That's it, and
that's my commandment of this team, and next week it'll
be to our next opponent and so forth. But you know,
I'm here to do best I can for this team.
Speaker 1 (24:13):
All right.
Speaker 5 (24:13):
So there's the statement I got told yesterday by some
Tario fans that it wasn't nearly strong enough, which I'm like,
what more can you really want? He's signed an actual
candidate for the job at this moment. But what did
you what do you think about the possibility of Bill
Belichick being the head coach of the New York Giants.
Do you think this is something Tarrio fans should be worried.
Speaker 1 (24:34):
About a little bit? But I'm gonna say for the
most part, no, it feels like he could be done
with the NFL from my advantage point. But I mean,
him to the Giants makes all the sense in the
world when you talk about the fact of what he did.
There's a defensive coordinator, his history there. It's New York,
it's cold, it's grimy. All that stuff fits Bill Belichick.
Speaker 4 (24:58):
Watch it, watch it. We're not grimy.
Speaker 1 (25:01):
You can see, you know, Belichick with the hoodie on
and the coats and all that out there in the
cold weather. So yeah, there's a lot that would make
sense about it, But I just feel like he's kind
of done with that this whole thing. Man, Oh well,
it's just crazy. Wes.
Speaker 3 (25:20):
Can you please pull up your power rankings and tell
me where Syracuse and Stanford rank and the ACC power rankings?
Are they the two worst teams outside of Boston College
in the conference?
Speaker 1 (25:31):
Virginia Tech two?
Speaker 4 (25:32):
Right, Yes, Stanford is fourteen. Okay, that's a big win.
Speaker 3 (25:35):
It's a big win. Man, Syracuse has been absolute I'm
trash for key styles since Angelly left. Yes, they've been terrible.
Speaker 4 (25:42):
I'm trash.
Speaker 3 (25:43):
Those are the two wins they got. Hey, look they're
playing better. They're not Louisville basketball from a few years
ago when you won a couple of games. Okay, they're
playing better. I will give them credit. Y'all got to
meet me a little bit on stopping giving the credit
at some point?
Speaker 1 (26:01):
Do the Giants won him?
Speaker 3 (26:03):
Like we're phrasing this in the term of is Carolina
worried about losing the guy that for the first half
of the season was in the news for all the
wrong reasons. You still got Lombardi there, who apparently nobody likes.
We still don't know if he can make great hires.
We still don't know for sure that he can recruit
his bleepof and when he does get the talent, are
(26:24):
you going to win in the ACC right now? You
got two wins to speak of. Stanford you beat by
five and Syracuse after a close first half, you eventually
turned it on in the second half. I'm gonna give
you credit for playing a lot better amidst all of
the noise. But it's all the noise.
Speaker 1 (26:44):
That you created. And now we're asking.
Speaker 3 (26:47):
If Carolina fans should be a little scared that you
might lose them. Do the Giants won them? Would it
be a good hire? Is he option Z on the alphabet?
I don't know, man, I think it's still a little
ridiculous to put it all out there.
Speaker 1 (27:01):
Maybe he would want to go there.
Speaker 3 (27:03):
I bet he would want to go back to the
NFL if he got an opportunity. I bet he would
want to go. But I'm not worried. If I'm Carolina,
I would say this.
Speaker 1 (27:11):
You know, if you're the New York Giants and you're
looking at this thing, you say, all right, I mean,
there's no denying he's the greatest NFL head coach of
all time. What does he specialize in defense? Well, Carolina's
defense for the last four or five games have been
pretty darn good. Right, But if I'm looking at it
from the Giants perspective, Okay, yeah, people can say all
(27:32):
day that, yeah, Tom Brady made them. Okay, what head
coach doesn't win when they don't have a dominant quarterback.
So you say, all right, if I bring Bill Belichick in,
I've got Jackson Dart in place here, I've got skilled
talent here at his disposal. And what does he specialize in?
Stabilizing line play? His offensive lines were hardly ever bad
in New England. That's something he's going to fix immediately.
(27:54):
And you know that defense, with those type of pass
rushers at his disposal, that defense would turn into something.
It would turn into a stanker real quick. With all
those guys. He would have Brian Burns and Carter and
all those guys. So yeah, I mean, there would be
a lot to like about that. And I think the
number one thing is the fact that they have their
quarterback in place, so you wouldn't have to necessarily worry
(28:16):
about him trying to hunt that down.
Speaker 5 (28:18):
So the key to this is that you've got to
figure out one who's making this higher. Is John Marra
making this higher or is it Joe Shane. If it's
John Marra making the higher, then I think there could
be some actual push for them to bring in Belichick
because he's a guy that has, you know, blood in
the ground, He's been there before. He's a guy that
(28:40):
loves the organization. He has raved about them for years,
years on end, and has said as much as basically
this is his dream job. So I think he would
take the job if he was offered it.
Speaker 4 (28:53):
I really do.
Speaker 1 (28:54):
I like Bill Belichick would, oh yeah, because.
Speaker 5 (28:56):
He wants to get back to the NFL, right He
wants to get back check the record that Don Shula
had and and the Giants look. It seems like the
Giants are a long way off. The Giants are very
similar to the team that he is coaching right now.
They are They have had four games where they have
led in the fourth quarter by ten points or more
and lost. They are that close to being six and four,
(29:19):
So he might feel like I can come in here,
take over this job and be relatively successful really quick.
Speaker 2 (29:26):
Now.
Speaker 5 (29:26):
Would the Giants want everything that comes with Bill Belichick?
That's the ultimate question. It's calmed down a little bit
as we've gotten in season here, but it was still
at a fever pitch. At one point during the year.
He was a guy that literally went to Nantucket during
an off week and was vacationing. I don't know how
that's going over in the NFL, but he's still I mean,
(29:49):
that's the thing. It's that you can look at it.
It's so many different ways here. I think the Giants
will go with somebody that's experienced.
Speaker 4 (29:58):
I just don't know if it's Belichick.
Speaker 5 (30:00):
I said in the article that I wrote about it
last night for heeltuplog dot com. If you guys want
to check it out, I said I would not be
worried yet, but it's not completely.
Speaker 4 (30:11):
Off the table. That's all I'm That's all I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (30:13):
Okay, That's why I'm at with it.
Speaker 3 (30:15):
My point is, when am I supposed to worry about
losing Bill Belichick as my head coach in North Carolina?
Why would I worry about it? Well, you might want
them to be gone.
Speaker 5 (30:26):
The one reason that I would say you would worry
about it is because now as we sit here, now,
how good of a job is Carolina going to be
compared to the other jobs that are going to be
out there on this coaching market. I mean, we're talking
about there could be twelve fifteen signature openings depending on
(30:46):
how many of these schools actually fire their head coach.
That's the only thing that worries me a little is
where would Carolina fall on that hierarchy.
Speaker 3 (30:55):
Freddy Kitchens, welcome back, baby, You're the OC of the
New York giantssent.
Speaker 4 (30:59):
Please God, Now, well, what else you got for us?
Speaker 1 (31:01):
We all all right?
Speaker 4 (31:02):
We got Rehees Davis.
Speaker 5 (31:03):
He was on the College Football Playoff Top twenty five
show last night and was talking about the ACC and
talks about a very real possibility that the ACC could
miss out on the College Football Playoff because Duke is
one of the teams that controls its own destiny here
down the stretch.
Speaker 10 (31:22):
Here's the thing that I think is the doomsday and
it's Duke. Because there are two teams in the ACC
that control their path through the AEC Championship game. One
of them is Duke the ol Georgia Tech. If Duke
wins his games, they're going to the conference championship game.
They're exposive offensively, they can win it at four losses, correct,
and not that you count losses, but you know they've
(31:43):
got three non conference losses.
Speaker 1 (31:45):
That's where they're in the most danger.
Speaker 10 (31:47):
Otherwise, it's just a fun thing to talk about.
Speaker 1 (31:49):
All right.
Speaker 5 (31:49):
I know they've been struggling here recently, But how concerned
are you about the possibility of the ACC missing out
in the playoffs because Dukes controls its own destiny and
all they'd have to do is win one game.
Speaker 1 (32:00):
Yeah, I'm not I think that you're saying that Duke
only has won one game to get to Charlotte.
Speaker 5 (32:05):
No, No, I'm saying all they have to do is
they would have to win out.
Speaker 1 (32:10):
But then all you have to do.
Speaker 4 (32:11):
When you get the win the ACC championship game and
you're in.
Speaker 1 (32:15):
Yeah. I think it's just something that's fun to talk
about because I don't think they're winning out. Down the
stretch between Virginia North Carolina and Wake Forest, and the
way that this Duke team is so up and down,
no defense turns the ball over. I could see them
losing two out of the last three or I just
don't see it with them.
Speaker 3 (32:30):
I mean, yeah, I think it's possible, but I guess
I'm not too worried about it either. Wake Forest is
the team I worry about the most, like in terms
of the way that the teams are playing right now,
I think wake Forest is the best opponent that they
have left on their schedule. Virginia they just don't scare
me as much anymore with the way that they've been
playing the second half of the season with the quarterback injury.
(32:50):
Your best quarterback isn't even at his best anymore, and
he's still your best option. So Virginia doesn't scare me
as much as wake Forest's defense, which might be the
defense with their coverage to put a lid on everything
Mensa was able to do at Duke.
Speaker 1 (33:07):
I think Wake Forest to put the game too.
Speaker 3 (33:10):
Maybe I know you like it. Raniac Raniac Bowl gonna
get real violent. Those are some muscles behind those glasses
between these two. No, I do think it would be hilarious.
I kind of am polling for this just a little
bit to see Duke in the AEC Championship game. They
win it, and now I know that means the ACC
(33:32):
would not be represented in the College Football Playoff, which
I don't love that, but I do want chaos and
it would be a nice nostalgic moment to remember coastal
chaos as it represents the entire conference.
Speaker 1 (33:43):
What you got over there flounding?
Speaker 5 (33:44):
All right, guys, well we have to quickly make a
pivot here because we have news coming out from uh
just down the block from us here. Carolina blitz and
of course Fashti Herd over there and keep blitzing, saying
that Trevin Wallace will not play Sunday and is listed
(34:05):
as week to week. Meanwhile, Laithan Ransom had a minor
surgical procedure on his hand and is listed as day
to day. But the big news there is that starting
linebacker Trevin Wallace will not be available for the game
against the Atlanta Falcons.
Speaker 1 (34:19):
Don't like hearing that.
Speaker 3 (34:20):
Need all the defensive reinforcements that we can possibly get.
Don't like anybody being injured. Trevin Wallace been trending upward
for the most part, so losing unvaluable reps that's frustrating.
Trevin Wallace being out of this game. Hopefully he can
come back sooner rather than later. Yeah, that's a tough
loss for him as well. We know that's the spot
that they've been hurting it as well. Don't want to
(34:41):
have that two coming into this week going up against
but John Robinson and that rush attack out Jeers Tyler
Algiers too.
Speaker 1 (34:47):
So yeah, tough. I know you said you wanted it
to be good. Was that good enough for you? Yeah?
It was good. I thought.
Speaker 3 (34:54):
You wanted a trade, you wanted some fighting, a black
n I know you wanted something. Yeah, you want to
Scorton Brown to go at it? What I did experience
an earthquake with the big boys going at it at
Boa seven oh four writes in how would the ACC
miss out? They have an automatic bid just to put
some just to house clean here a little bit. It's
the top five conference champions, yes that get in. It's
(35:18):
not all of the Power four conference champions. That's how
it usually plays out. But there would be a shot
for Duke to have a four loss record, be ACC
champions and not be a top five rated conference champion.
How would that be on the outside end? Talk about
a tough.
Speaker 4 (35:34):
Day for Jim phillips Man. That would be, well, yeah.
Speaker 1 (35:37):
Tough moment.
Speaker 3 (35:38):
The other thing I wanted to harp on real quickly
when Joe Ovius and Joe Jillio we're talking about this,
this entire scenario, right, Like, how hilarious is it that
big old bad Clemson and big old bad FSU a
couple of schools that wanted out of the ACC because
they were being held down by the rest of the programs.
(35:59):
We need to move on to the SEC or the
Big ten because look, I mean, they're beneath us, pinky
out pish posh all of these other programs and y'all
aren't even a top of a down year for even
down year standards within this conference, and y'all are nowhere
to be found.
Speaker 1 (36:16):
Yeah, they got a you know, forget getting a slice
of humble pie. They got the whole pie, They got
all the sudd they're splitting it. You just give them
a whole pound a table with two spoons and just
say enjoy.
Speaker 3 (36:26):
Yeah, I'm gonna hand this humble pie to Dabbo Sweeney
while he tells me about all of his past successes.
Speaker 1 (36:31):
You can fire me if you want to Walker, just.
Speaker 3 (36:33):
Eat your pie, sir, goodness gracious, One more segment to
go on, Western Walker. It's the walk Off Sports rated
ninety two to seven w FNZ.
Speaker 1 (36:48):
Are the challenge for to a walk off. Oh yeah,
that's a walk off.
Speaker 7 (36:54):
Challenge, my friend, it's a walk.
Speaker 3 (36:59):
Off the walk wrap it up on Western Walker Sports
Radio ninety two to seven WFNZ. Got some good news
for you Hornets fans. Okay, even if it comes at
the expense of a player playing. We need all the
help we can get around here, so it's still good news.
Let's tell you what's on tap, presented by Twin Peaks.
Twin Peaks has locations in Concord and Fort Mill. Twin
(37:20):
Peaks is your local sports lodge. Come in from made
from scratch food and signature twenty nine degree draft beer.
No honest tonight? Oh whoa Okay?
Speaker 1 (37:31):
Now?
Speaker 3 (37:32):
Is it good news or bad news? Or the people
that are going to be in attendance for this game
because they're going to miss a star play in Charlotte.
I believe they come back though, because they are in
the Eastern Conference. So as long as you get them back,
maybe you can play in around it. This is the
issue with NBA resting their stars. That's a separate conversation.
It's one we've had in terms of wanting victories for
the Hornets at home. No Joannie, who's ruled out for
(37:55):
this game because of a knee injury. Two and a
half point favorites. Are the Bucks even at this center?
What are your thoughts on this game?
Speaker 1 (38:02):
Yeah, it would be very frustrating as a fan to
come there. That's one of those things that, like you said,
it could be the fan that has never seen Gianni's
play before that was really looking forward to seeing them,
even if they want the Hornets to win in the
grand scheme of things, But this is a matchup that
the Hornets, you know, they've got to dig out of
victory somewhere at three and seven at this point, and
(38:24):
it feels like things are starting to spiral out of control.
You get a Milwaukee team coming in here just playing
solid basketball, there's seven and four, but they're without Jannis,
and so you got to be able to try to
take advantage of that as best you can.
Speaker 3 (38:37):
All Right, So, no, Joannie, do you think the Hornets
can get to win without him on the court?
Speaker 7 (38:41):
No?
Speaker 3 (38:42):
What about you, flounder? You want to give us a
Hornets prediction? Not really, This is hard to trust.
Speaker 4 (38:48):
The answer is going to be no.
Speaker 5 (38:49):
Yeah, I just I don't trust them against you know,
a team that's probably going to make the playoffs. I
know that they are really Yannis based, but I just
don't think there's enough there for the Hornets.
Speaker 4 (38:59):
I think they'll compete, but I'm gonna.
Speaker 1 (39:01):
Switch up, man, I'm a switch up, you know what.
I'm gonna get lots of one because when I look
at when I look at this team, I mean, yeah,
there's seven and four, but you know the second lean scorer,
Ryan Rollins, Kyla and Wouzma and stuff like that. Yeah,
and I just feel like the Hornets, man, they got
to be able to get a win somewhere. Man. So
with them missing thirty three points, twelve rebounds, six assists,
(39:22):
I'm gonna go with Buzz City to night. Man, I'm
gonna go with Charlotte.
Speaker 3 (39:25):
I want to switch shirt on. How damn I do that? Yeah,
I'm gonna go with Charlotte as well. I'm glad you
went to Milwaukee to be honest with Wes's switch up
because we need to save the graphic.
Speaker 1 (39:35):
Yeah, the saver.
Speaker 5 (39:36):
Last night, I predicted that Charlotte would win by twenty
and I predicted that Caleb Wilson would have a thirty
point game, and neither one of those teams remotely close.
Speaker 3 (39:45):
So it's probably a good thing. Just a bit outside
on some of your predictions. Yeah, I'm gonna go with Charlotte.
I think some of the biggest reasons Charlotte has been
losing these basketball games they do not force a lot
of turnovers, and they commit a lot of turnovers.
Speaker 1 (40:00):
It's a terrible recipe.
Speaker 3 (40:02):
But without Yannis, one of the best defensive players in
the league and all those arms coming at you, that's
gonna help you possibly not turn it over as much.
In him not getting in passing lanes, you know, taking
care of the basketball in a lot better situation. Plus,
Milwaukee excellent at taking shots at the rim and hitting them.
Without Yannis, I mean, you're not looking at a whole
(40:23):
bunch of bulldozers finding their way down the lane. So
Kyle Kuzma can kind of do that, but he likes
to settle for jump shots. Really interested to see what
Milwaukee looks like without Giannis. I think they're so Yanni's
based that I'm with you flounder like, yeah, they're Yana's based,
And yet I'm with you with the prediction West. I
think Carolina can or Carolina. I think Charlotte can get
(40:44):
it done tonight with a victory over the Bucks. Other
games in the NBA, Detroit hosting Chicago. The Pistons are
nine and two on the season. The Knicks hosting the
Magic Orlando five and six. Got a big win with
Desmond Baine hitting a buzzer beater. That was a fun
win for them, but the fact that you had to
rely on that to get to five and six the
(41:04):
Magic one of the more disappointing stories on this young season.
Speaker 1 (41:07):
Yeah, and I saw that Paolo is having some issues
with Jamal Moseley. I didn't read the article, but I
saw that they got some friction between those two. So
I mean, I wonder is that a situation where Orlando
would consider trading him at the deadline of things all
going well. I don't think that would happen, But I'm
just saying I'm wondering.
Speaker 4 (41:24):
See, these duke players just difficult people to deal with. Man,
even trying to tell.
Speaker 3 (41:28):
You, yeah, no doubt, I would say, even in a
post Luca trade world, Now I think you're almost I
think if you're a star, you're almost more emboldened by
how it turned out for Nico, right. I think the
shock effect of oh man, I'm a star. Now I
could get traded, Okay, see how that worked for the
team that eventually traded the Star. It's almost more ironclad
(41:51):
that you won't get traded anymore. Now you can have
a little bit more player empowerment with the way that
it went for Nico the way that it's going for
Dallas right now. So if you're Palo, it's me or
Jamal Moseley. Guess who's getting the boot. Moseley's getting on
about here. Yeah, yeah, yeah. So anyways, as much as
I would love Palo on Charlotte.
Speaker 1 (42:09):
That'd be great. That'd be great, It would be it'd
be a lot of fun.
Speaker 3 (42:13):
Also, some other games in the NBA, just real quickly,
Clippers hosting the Nuggets ten thirty, Sacramento hosting Atlanta at
ten o'clock. Those are some of your night caps. And
if you want to see Cooper flag, the Dallas MAVs
do host the Phoenix Suns. That's at eight thirty tonight.
Any Wrestling World update or anything that you got for the.
Speaker 1 (42:31):
People, Well, real quick, I was going to ask you,
do you like those Hornet City editions? We should talk
about the City editioned jerseys.
Speaker 3 (42:37):
It is inspired, it is inspired by Queen Charlotte's infatuation
almost with the Bird of Paradise Flower. So I really
like the stories behind some of the City editions that
they bring up. I think the court is fantastic. I
like the shorts more than I like the jersey. I
do like it for the most part. I might go
(42:58):
without the pinstripes if I was to really fine tune
what these city edition unis look like. But overall, I
think thumbs up for the most part the court. I
love the way that the court looks. I don't think
they could have done a better job. Then yeah, I
like that a lot. Man, I want to see the
court as well. I'm going to check that out. But
I do like the uniforms. That's why I brought it up.
When I saw them, I said, oh, that's pretty cool.
(43:19):
I might I might even.
Speaker 1 (43:20):
Purchase me all right, City edition. It looks like Sony Bottles.
They do, they do. I wasn't a big fan of
Sonny d but I do like that. But yes, the
aforementioned aw Blood and Guts, and it is in Greensboro.
I forgot to mention that as well. I would have
loved to have gone. Rice was begging me to go,
but I said, you know, it's a lot. Man to
(43:41):
go to Greensboro tonight. Then we got to get up
in the morning and go to school and all that stuff.
As early as we got to get up, we wouldn't
get in till probably like after midnight. That's a lot, Yeah,
it is a lot.
Speaker 3 (43:52):
I'm looking at all the other NBA City Edition unis
they didn't change a lot of them from years past.
With a lot of these other teams, Charlotte went by
far through the most dramatic makeover. With some of the
other jerseys that they've put up. I like still some
of the other ones around the league. Indiana I think
has a really good one, the homage to what the
(44:13):
Pacers used to look like. And you're saying you like
the Hornet City Edition court, I do like the court
and the Yonies. Okay, there you go. Stamp of approval
from one Wes Bryant. Oh yeah, that's it. That's the
good stuff right there. When Wes Bryant gives you a
straight fire looking at some other games that are happening
here within college football slash college basketball. Tonight, Central Michigan,
(44:37):
if you need some college football in your life, Central
Michigan hosts Buffalo Massachusetts host Northern Illinois and Miami, Ohio
host Toledo. Yep, you guessed it. That games on ESPN two.
If you want some action, might get a little snow.
Might get a little snow as well. But you gotta
sign into an ESPN app and upgrade if you want
to watch.
Speaker 1 (44:57):
That's a fact, and I will not be doing it.
I stay with AJ Watts.
Speaker 4 (45:01):
That's not what's going to swing you.
Speaker 1 (45:03):
Yeah, that you could possibly miss. Last night almost cracked
me too at all the college basketball games because I
wanted to watch Louisville and Kentucky and some of those.
That almost got me as well. But fortunately my deeks
were on FS one and they had a good basketball
lineup because they had Illinois and Texas Tech that came
on that. And it was funny because I had just
(45:23):
been wondering where was baby Sto Jakovich and then I
saw him with Illinois, like, oh yeah, yeah, I forgot.
He went to Illinois.
Speaker 4 (45:30):
He looked good and JT. Topping went off. Yeah he
had twenty four in the second half.
Speaker 3 (45:35):
Ooh man, all right, we have just enough time. Not really,
but I want to play it for what that team is.
It's a new segment that we debuted I believe last
week or maybe earlier this week. It's funny because I
know this university, we probably all do with it being local,
but it feels like it has a place. And what
that team is Bob Jones actually plays South Carolina Upstate
(45:58):
on the road tonight.
Speaker 1 (45:59):
Oh yeah, I'm very mean with them. They've played a
lot of acc games, Bob jokes.
Speaker 3 (46:06):
What that team is Emmanuel Massachusetts. They play at New
Hampshire tonight, Penn State Shenango. Oh wow, at interesting? Yeah,
all right, get ready for that. Not Henry Vassar, but Vasar.
They'll play Maris.
Speaker 1 (46:24):
And Henry Vasei has his own school.
Speaker 3 (46:27):
I think. So this is my favorite one. We end
on this one because at some point we're gonna name.
Speaker 1 (46:30):
All of them.
Speaker 3 (46:31):
Saints Scholastica. They play all the road against North Dakota State. Now,
I'm sorry, I thought that was a book there. I
didn't realize that was a university. Saints Scholastica book.
Speaker 5 (46:45):
Fairs used to be Fireman. Yeah that you look forward
to that all year long.
Speaker 3 (46:50):
I really hope their theme their fight song is reading
Rainbow the Saints take a look. It's on accord Saints,
go Alasta, West and Walker. We're done. We'll be back
with you tomorrow from twelve to three. Coming up next,
it's The Kyle Bailey Show.
