which press conference this was. He does so many of them,
but he was asked about, Oh boy, j C. Horn
falling on the touchdown to Chris Olave. We have not
talked much about this, but let's get into it.

The play with jac Horn and Levey down the field.
Was that a matter of technique of turning not turning
his back to him or you know the way he
was positioned. Yeah, well you could actually have to we
have to look up and now if he does bump
into you, it's easy to fall.

And I know also, as you can attest to it,
when you get a player who's as fast as Crystal
Lave and he's running at full tilt and you're moving
at the same rate and Jac is really fast, and
we also understand that, but any little incremental movement, you know,
and they had kind of had their hands tied up
in Jac's feet kind of slipped on him. He went
down and Tyler shut through an amazing pass on that
play as well, So you know, to speak of the

whole play in general, like they picked up a really
good pressure and blocked it well, and then they had
the one on one opportunity made a throw and you
know sometimes it's like that, you know, but it does.
It starts with you know, footwork, technique, leverage and all that.

could see like exactly what happened because it did look
like a push off. But then you heard some people
saying that he sold it, So I'm not sure there.
But I did think, you know, frankly, that he had
good covers through most of that play. He was in
the hip pocket, he was where it needed to be.
It was just an unfortunate ending. But I can't make

thinks he is an excellent football player. Not a great
showing from him on a lot of different areas. I mean,

few big plays. You saw him fall down twice, and okay, yes,
I think both things can be true. Falling down isn't
going to happen on every single deep shot that people

it's grimy. All that stuff fits Bill Belichick.

got two wins to speak of. Stanford you beat by five,
and Syracuse after a close first half, you eventually turned

credit for playing a lot better amidst all of the noise.

there's no denying he's the greatest NFL head coach of
all time. What does he specialize in defense? Well, Carolina's
defense for the last four or five games have been
pretty darn good.

But if I'm edit from the Giants perspective, Okay, yeah,
people can say all day that, yeah Tom Brady made them. Okay,
what head coach doesn't win when they don't have a
dominant quarterback. So you say, all right, if I bring
Bill Belichick in, I've got Jackson Dark in place here,
I've got skilled talent here at his disposal.

And what does he specialize in? Stabilizing line play?

His offensive lines were hardly ever bad in New England.
That's something he's going to fix immediately. And you know
that defense with those type of pass rushers at his disposal,
that defense would turn into something.

It would turn into a stanker real quick. With all
those guys.

He would have Brian Burns and Carter and all those guys.
So yeah, I mean there would be a lot to
like about that. And I think the number one thing
is the fact that they have their quarterback in place,
so you wouldn't have to necessarily worry about him trying
to hunt that down.

So the key to this is that you've got to
figure out one who's making this higher. Is John Marra
making this higher or is it Joe Shane. If it's
John Marra make in the higher, then I think there
could be some actual push for them to bring in
Belichick because he's a guy that has, you know, blood
in the ground, he's been there before. He's a guy

that loves the organization. He has raved about them for years,
years on end, and has said as much as basically
this is his dream job. So I think he would
take the job if he was offered it.

Giants are very similar to the team that he is

They are that close to being six and four, So
he might feel like I can come in here, take

path through the AEC championship game, one of them is

Yeah, I think it's just something that's fun to talk
about because I don't think they're winning out. Down the
stretch between Virginia and North Carolina and wake Forest and
the way that this duke team is so up and down,
no defense turns the ball over. I could see them
losing two out of the last three or I just
don't see it with them.

I mean, yeah, I think it's possible, but I guess
I'm not too worried about it either. Wake Forest is
the team I worry about the most, like in terms
of the way that the teams are playing right now,
I think wake Forest is the best opponent that they
have left on their schedule. Virginia they just don't scare
me as much anymore with the way that they've been
playing the second half of the season with the quarterback injury.

Your best quarterback isn't even at his best anymore, and
he's still your best option. So Virginia doesn't scare me
as much as wake Forest's defense, which might be the
defense with their coverage to put a lid on everything,
Mensa was able to do at Duke.

it on in the second half. I'm gonna give you
credit for playing a lot better amidst all of the noise.

But it's all the noise that you created.

And now we're asking if Carolina fans should be a
little scared that you might lose them. Doue the Giants
won them. Would it be a good hire? Is he
option Z on the alphabet? I don't know, man, I
think it's still a little ridiculous to put it all
out there.

Maybe he would want to go there.
Speaker 1 (08:35):
I bet he would want to go back to the
NFL if he got an opportunity. I bet he would
want to go. But I'm not worried. If I'm Carolina,
I would say this.

You know, if you're the New York Giants and you're
looking at this thing, you say, all right, I mean,
there's no denying he's the greatest NFL head coach of
all time. What does he specialize in defense? Well, Carolina's
defense for the last four or five games have been
pretty darn good.
Speaker 3 (08:59):
Right.
Speaker 7 (08:59):
But if I'm edit from the Giants perspective, Okay, yeah,
people can say all day that, yeah Tom Brady made them. Okay,
what head coach doesn't win when they don't have a
dominant quarterback. So you say, all right, if I bring
Bill Belichick in, I've got Jackson Dark in place here,
I've got skilled talent here at his disposal.
Speaker 3 (09:18):
And what does he specialize in? Stabilizing line play?
Speaker 7 (09:21):
His offensive lines were hardly ever bad in New England.
That's something he's going to fix immediately. And you know
that defense with those type of pass rushers at his disposal,
that defense would turn into something.
Speaker 3 (09:32):
It would turn into a stanker real quick. With all
those guys.
Speaker 7 (09:35):
He would have Brian Burns and Carter and all those guys.
So yeah, I mean there would be a lot to
like about that. And I think the number one thing
is the fact that they have their quarterback in place,
so you wouldn't have to necessarily worry about him trying
to hunt that down.
Speaker 2 (09:50):
So the key to this is that you've got to
figure out one who's making this higher. Is John Marra
making this higher or is it Joe Shane. If it's
John Marra make in the higher, then I think there
could be some actual push for them to bring in
Belichick because he's a guy that has, you know, blood
in the ground, he's been there before. He's a guy
(10:11):
that loves the organization. He has raved about them for years,
years on end, and has said as much as basically
this is his dream job. So I think he would
take the job if he was offered it.
Speaker 4 (10:25):
I really do.
Speaker 3 (10:26):
I like Bill Belichick, Oh yeah, because.
Speaker 4 (10:28):
He wants to get back to the NFL.
Speaker 2 (10:30):
Right he wants to get back chase the record that
Don Shula had and the and the Giants. Look, it
seems like the Giants are a long way off. The
Giants are very similar to the team that he is
coaching right now.
Speaker 4 (10:42):
They are.
Speaker 2 (10:43):
They have had four games where they have led in
the fourth quarter by ten points or more and lost.
They are that close to being six and four, So
he might feel like I can come in here, take
over this job and be relatively successful really quick. Now,
would the Giants want everything that comes with Bill Belichick?
That's the ultimate question. It's calmed down a little bit
(11:04):
as we've gotten in season here, but it was still
at a fever pitch. At one point during the year.
He was a guy that literally went to Nantucket during
an off week and was vacationing. I don't know how
that's going over in the NFL, but he's still I mean,
that's the thing. It's that you can look at it.
It's so many different ways here. I think the Giants

will go with somebody that's experienced.
Speaker 4 (11:29):
I just don't know if it's Belichick.
Speaker 2 (11:31):
So I said in the article that I wrote about
it last night for heeltuplog dot com if you guys
want to check it out. I said I would not
be worried yet, but it's not completely off the table.

My point is, when am I supposed to worry about
losing Bill Belichick as my head coach in North Carolina? Hey,
why would I worry about it? Well, you want him
to be gone.

The one reason that I would say you would work
worry about it is because now as we sit here, now,
how good of a job is Carolina going to be
compared to the other jobs that are going to be
out there on this coaching market.

I mean, we're talking about there could be twelve.

Fifteen signature openings depending on how many of these schools
actually fire their head coach. That's the only thing that
worries me a little is where would Carolina fall on
that hierarchy?

talks about a very real possibility that the ACC could
miss out on the college football playoff because Duke is
one of the teams that controls its own destiny here
down the stretch.

Here's the thing that I think is the doomsday, and
it's Duke. Because teams in the ACC that control their
path through the AEC championship game, one of them is
Duke Georgia Tech. If Duke wins this games, they're going
to the conference championship game.
Speaker 3 (13:09):
They're explosive offensively. They can win it at.
Speaker 9 (13:11):
Four losses, correct, and not that you count losses, but
you know they've got three non conference losses.
Speaker 3 (13:17):
That's where they're in the most danger.
Speaker 9 (13:18):
Otherwise, it's just a fun thing to talk about.

I know they've been struggling here recently, But how concerned
are you about the possibility of the ACC missing out
in the playoffs because Dukes controls its own destiny and
all they'd have to do is win one game?
Speaker 7 (13:32):
Yeah, I'm not I think that you're saying that Duke
only has won one game to get to Charlotte.
Speaker 2 (13:37):
No, No, I'm saying all they have to do is
they would have to win out, but then all you
have to do when win the ACC Championship game and
you're in.
Speaker 7 (13:46):
Yeah, I think it's just something that's fun to talk
about because I don't think they're winning out. Down the
stretch between Virginia and North Carolina and wake Forest and
the way that this duke team is so up and down,
no defense turns the ball over. I could see them
losing two out of the last three or I just
don't see it with them.
Speaker 1 (14:02):
I mean, yeah, I think it's possible, but I guess
I'm not too worried about it either. Wake Forest is
the team I worry about the most, like in terms
of the way that the teams are playing right now,
I think wake Forest is the best opponent that they
have left on their schedule. Virginia they just don't scare
me as much anymore with the way that they've been
playing the second half of the season with the quarterback injury.
(14:22):
Your best quarterback isn't even at his best anymore, and
he's still your best option. So Virginia doesn't scare me
as much as wake Forest's defense, which might be the
defense with their coverage to put a lid on everything,
Mensa was able to do at Duke.
Speaker 3 (14:39):
I think Wake Forest too.
Speaker 4 (14:41):
Game too.
Speaker 3 (14:42):

Those are some muscles behind those glasses between these two. No,
I do think it would be hilarious. I kind of
am polling for this just a little bit to see
Duke in the a SEC Champimionship game. They win it,
and now I know that means the ACC would not
be represented in the College Football Playoff, which I don't
love that, but I do want chaos and it would

be a nice nostalgic moment to remember coastal chaos as
it represents the entire conference.
