Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hey, it's Delilah. Thank you for stopping by. I have
put together some of my favorite radio moments here to
share with you on our daily podcast. Hey it's Delilah.
Today we're going to mash up a bunch of great callers,

(00:22):
some from the past, some new, some old, all of
them fabulous. Hi, good evening, you've called the Delilah Show.
Who is with me on the phone line?

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Hi, Dylillah, This is Colleen Colin.

Speaker 1 (00:36):
How are you, Colleen? I'm wonderful. How are you? Are
you having a good end of summer harvest season?

Speaker 2 (00:43):
Absolutely, so far, so good and ready for the colder
weather because of all those heaps.

Speaker 1 (00:49):
Colder weather and boots. Don't forget boots. Yeah, definitely, I
love boot weather. What can I do for you tonight?

Speaker 2 (00:58):
I was just wondering if you could song for my family.
My sister is about to have her second baby, and
I just wanted to wish her well and send some
positive thoughts out there.

Speaker 1 (01:10):
And did you know what song you want to hear?
You want me to pick one? When's the baby do?

Speaker 2 (01:14):
No, I would love for you to pick one out.
Babies do in nine weeks and we're so excited. Second
not a nephew. We don't know what it is yet, though,
so excited.

Speaker 1 (01:23):
She didn't find out. She wants to be surprised. That's
unusual in today's world.

Speaker 2 (01:28):
Yep. She just wants it to be healthy. So that's
all we're hoping for.

Speaker 1 (01:32):
I will say a prayer that she has an easy
labor and delivery a healthy baby, and I'll pick out
the perfect song. What's your sister's name?

Speaker 2 (01:40):
My sister's name is Mary. Thank you so much. I've
been listening to you for decades, so I really appreciate
your show. I love it, and it's always brought me
some sort of peace and calm. I appreciate your Radius
show for sure.

Speaker 1 (01:53):
Thank you. Thank you. That so many things in the
world today are divisive, trying to turn people against their neighbors,
turn people against people who don't live like them, or
think like them, or pray like them. And I don't
want any part of that. I don't want to be
a part of that. I want to help people to
understand that we're all a part of the human race

(02:16):
and we all need each other, We need strong community.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
We could all just get along so much easier for everybody.

Speaker 1 (02:23):
Yeah, would, So let's do our part, and I'll play
a song for your sister and the baby on the way.

Speaker 2 (02:29):
Thank you so much, Delilah.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
All right, good night, take care. Hi, good evening. Welcome
to the Delilah Show. Who is this?

Speaker 3 (02:43):
This is Kaylee?

Speaker 1 (02:44):
Hi, Kaylee. How was your summer?

Speaker 3 (02:47):
It's been pretty good. Honestly. I've been with my best
friends and having a fun with my family.

Speaker 1 (02:55):
Okay, favorite, top two favorite summer memories.

Speaker 3 (03:00):
Let's say, listening to music with my best friend Rina
and moving in to our new home at her father's.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
How old are you?

Speaker 3 (03:13):
I am twenty three years old.

Speaker 1 (03:15):
So you did you two girls didn't get an apartiment
like I did when I was your age. You got
you moved in with dad.

Speaker 3 (03:22):
No, we were blessed with a wonderful home with her
Bila and her dad.

Speaker 1 (03:30):
That is very sweet. But boy, your head is in
a different place than mine was when I was young.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
Yeah. No, definitely.

Speaker 1 (03:38):
Actually, that's not true. By the time I was your age,
I was married, I was a stepmom to two kids,
and I was pregnant with my first son. So but
when I was younger and I moved out, I was
all about the partiment.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
Yeah, definitely. Let's be happy and celebrating life.

Speaker 2 (04:00):
Good for you?

Speaker 1 (04:01):
And what song can I play for you and your
bestie tonight?

Speaker 3 (04:05):
Could you play Toto the Africa song?

Speaker 2 (04:10):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (04:10):
I love that song. I will do that for you.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
All righty, thank you so much, Joilah.

Speaker 1 (04:17):
Thank you for calling. Thank you for listening.

Speaker 3 (04:20):
Of course, thank you.

Speaker 1 (04:31):
Hi. You've called the Delilah Show. Who is this?

Speaker 4 (04:35):
This is Hope?

Speaker 1 (04:37):
Hi, Hope you had to pause for a minute and
remember who you are?

Speaker 4 (04:41):
Right? And I barely heard you that it was the
answer machine?

Speaker 1 (04:45):
All right? What can I do for you? Hope? You
know what?

Speaker 4 (04:48):
I just wanted to dedicate a song to my husband
of twenty five years. His name is Ian and I
just recently got out of rehabit. I just want to
thank him for just being by my side, Like I
don't know what I would do without him. Sometimes I
don't show my love, but he's my everything.

Speaker 1 (05:09):
Can I ask what your drug of choice is? It
was alcohol? And is this your first time going to
rehab it is? And your husband is stuck by you
for how many years?

Speaker 4 (05:23):
Twenty size?

Speaker 1 (05:24):
I would say this man is in love with you?

Speaker 4 (05:27):
Oh yeah, I think so. Just a little bit.

Speaker 1 (05:31):
That is a wonderful testimony that despite your addictive behaviors,
whatever they were, his love held strong. I'm not that
kind or that patient. I was very much in love
with a man that needed to go to rehab and
refused and I couldn't. I couldn't be patient. I couldn't.

(05:52):
I couldn't see the light at the end of the
of the tunnel.

Speaker 4 (05:56):
Oh yeah, it's not easy, but we're doing this together.

Speaker 1 (06:00):
I'm so proud of you both. So you and Ian
have been through thick and thin, and now that you
have finished rehab, are you going to your meetings?

Speaker 4 (06:11):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (06:12):
Yeah, isn't it amazing how good life is?

Speaker 4 (06:15):
Amazing? People in there? You know, I wouldn't. I wouldn't
know what I would do without AA meetings. You know.

Speaker 1 (06:21):
Well, let's not find out. Okay, let's not find out.

Speaker 4 (06:27):
It's not easy. Like I said, I just take one
day at a time, that's all I could do.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
What song can I play for you and Ian?

Speaker 4 (06:34):
Oh? Like you? Just to pick out one.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
I'm going to find the perfect song for hope. Who
is bringing hope to others?

Speaker 3 (06:41):
Yes?

Speaker 4 (06:42):
I hope.

Speaker 1 (06:42):
So all right, you have a great night. Thank you
for calling.

Speaker 2 (06:46):
I have a good night.

Speaker 1 (06:54):
Hi, good evening. Welcome you called Delilah. Who is this?

Speaker 5 (06:58):
This is Maria, Hi.

Speaker 1 (07:00):
Riha, how are you tonight?

Speaker 5 (07:02):
Fine?

Speaker 1 (07:03):
What can I do for you? Maria?

Speaker 5 (07:06):
I want to thank my son because he is so incredible.
He has two kids, I have two grandkids. He makes
sure they're bed, bathed and in bed by the time
his wife come home. She's a nurse and works twelve

(07:26):
hour shifts. Sometimes she doesn't see the kids for days.
He takes care of everything. He takes care of the house,
He takes care of everything.

Speaker 3 (07:35):
Plus he works full time from home. But he works
full time.

Speaker 5 (07:41):
And so I just want to get a kid to
song to how great he is and how good he
is to me, and how I get to see the
grandkids as often as he can, you know, get me
there on weekends. And I just want to tell you
how great a sun I have.

Speaker 1 (08:00):
It sounds like he and his wife do a very
good balancing act with the kids.

Speaker 5 (08:05):
Oh, yes, they do.

Speaker 3 (08:07):
They do.

Speaker 5 (08:08):
She works three days and is off four.

Speaker 3 (08:11):
Days, and.

Speaker 5 (08:14):
She helps out the day she's home. She helps out
cleaning and laundry and everything, and he does the same thing.
They are a teams. But the Green kids are just lovely.
I have a four and a half year old boy
and a one and a half year old girl, and
they are the cutest things. They are the love of
my life.

Speaker 1 (08:34):
Now I love this. I will play a song for
your whole family, Maria. Thank you for calling.

Speaker 5 (08:42):
Okay, thank you, Delilah, Bye bye.

Speaker 1 (08:47):
