Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hey, it's Delilah. Thank you for stopping by. I have
put together some of my favorite radio moments here to
share with you on our daily podcast to Love. One
of my producers saw a plaque the other day that
(00:22):
said marriage involves falling in love with the same person
many times? Have you been in love with your love
for a very long time? I talked to somebody the
other night who had been married fifty six years, and
to hear the joy, the love in their voice, it
(00:44):
was as if they were teenagers. It was clear by
her voice that this listener was more than a teenager.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
But to hear her speak of her beloved, her sweetheart.
Speaker 1 (00:53):
It was as if they were teenagers making out under
the stars on a moonlit night.
Speaker 2 (00:58):
It was so precious. Hi, you've called Delilah. Who's this?
Speaker 3 (01:04):
This is Chelsea?
Speaker 2 (01:06):
Hi, Chelsea? What can I do to make your night
a little more peaceful, a little more sweet? So I just.
Speaker 3 (01:13):
Wanted to call and tell you about me and my husband.
We met in eighth grade. Next month will be twenty
years of us being together. We've been married for thirteen years,
we have three kids, and after all these years, like
I still feel brotherfriause, like I love him so much.
(01:36):
He is just like the greatest man, and we are
just so happy. And I just wanted to call and
just tell my story because we're really really lucky.
Speaker 2 (01:46):
So you met in eighth grade? When did you start dating?
Speaker 3 (01:49):
We So we met on the first day actually of
eighth grade, and we started dating two weeks after that,
and we've been together ever since.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
You dated all through high school?
Speaker 3 (02:03):
Yes, And so next month will be twenty years of
us actually being married I mean together, I'm sorry. And
we got married in twenty eleven. So we've been married
for thirteen years and we have three kids. But we've
actually been dating and together for twenty years. And I'm
thirty three and he's thirty four, and it's been a
(02:24):
wild rod but it's been amazing and I would not
have chosen anybody else because he is the best.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
Chelsea, How on God's green earth did you know how
to stay in a committed relationship.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
When you were thirteen? It took me into my forties
to figure that out.
Speaker 3 (02:47):
I know. It was just we just took it one
day at a time. We just we just really liked
hanging out with each other, and it just ended up
evolving into what it is today the greatest.
Speaker 4 (03:01):
Do you know how blessed you are to not have
all the baggage that I drug around in my life,
changing boyfriends, changing fiances, changing husbands.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
It's like, how what a sweet gift that your husband
is your best friend all this time? It is.
Speaker 3 (03:24):
It is very, very amazing. We got that passed together
not long after we got married for the first time
for both of us, and like we've just been like
we're just soul amaze. I mean, just everything has just
been great ever since.
Speaker 2 (03:42):
Like, you know, we met and what's his name, Chelsea,
His name is Keith. And do you have a song
that is your song? Or can I pick a good
one out?
Speaker 3 (03:52):
No, I would really like it if you would just
pick one out.
Speaker 2 (03:56):
I'm going to find a good song. I'm gonna I'm
actually gonna say a little prayer and try to find
the perfect song that can be your song for Keith
and your kids one day will listen to that song
and go, oh, that was mom and Dad's song. They
fell in love when they were kids and gave us
such a happy life. So I'm going to find a
really sweet song for you. Okay, Thank you so much.
Speaker 3 (04:17):
Jilli me and my husband listening to your song every
single day. We just love the music that you play in.
Speaker 2 (04:24):
So let me ask you this. Tell me something about
Keith that you never would have known you that once
you got married and you guys grew up, you're like, wow,
I never I never dreamed you would bring this quality
to our relationship. What would that be?
Speaker 3 (04:42):
Oh? Man, I don't know, because he was just so.
Speaker 2 (04:48):
So wonderful all along. All right, Well that's that says
a lot. Let me play a song for you. You
have a wonderful night.
Speaker 3 (05:00):
Thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (05:01):
Bye bye, sweetie. Brandy, Hi, what can I do for you?
Speaker 5 (05:16):
I'd written an email? She's talking about my next door
neighbor who I'm now married to. We've been neighbors since
I was five years old, and we just got married.
Speaker 2 (05:26):
You've been neighbors since you were five, Yes, ma'am, you
were the girl next door.
Speaker 5 (05:31):
Hey, yes, ma'am.
Speaker 2 (05:32):
What's your husband's name?
Speaker 5 (05:33):
Andrew?
Speaker 2 (05:34):
And is Andrew your age older?
Speaker 1 (05:36):
Younger?
Speaker 5 (05:36):
He's a year older than me.
Speaker 2 (05:38):
So you probably grew up playing hopscotch and skip rope
and chasing bikes and all that stuff.
Speaker 5 (05:43):
Of course, And how old were you.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
When you thought, Wow, I'd like to do more than
just hopscotch with this guy. I'd like to kiss him.
Speaker 5 (05:52):
Oh well, I had a crush on him like my
whole life. But he just told me whenever I turned
nineteen that he liked to me, and so we started
dating and then it turned into marriage.
Speaker 2 (06:02):
And boy, everybody was so shocked, right.
Speaker 5 (06:05):
Yes, especially my parents.
Speaker 2 (06:08):
They were for real, I was being facetious.
Speaker 5 (06:11):
Oh no, they were.
Speaker 2 (06:13):
They didn't know you had a crush on them all
those years.
Speaker 5 (06:16):
Well they did, but they didn't ever think it about
to anything because we just kind of went our own
separate ways through high school. And then after I finished college,
he came back and he was just like, oh like you.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
I like you. I've liked you for a long time,
even though you stole all my marbles.
Speaker 5 (06:34):
Yeah, just like that.
Speaker 2 (06:37):
So what song do you want me to play for
you tonight?
Speaker 5 (06:40):
I really have no idea.
Speaker 1 (06:41):
Just a good ones, a good love song.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
I will do that.
Speaker 5 (06:46):
Okay, thank you, I appreciate it.
Speaker 2 (06:54):
Chrissy, you've called Delilah. What can I do for you?
Speaker 6 (06:58):
I just thought I show my story with you. I've
got a sweetheart in my life that I've had in
my life since I was twelve years old. I met
him on my twelfth birthday. Didn't know, but when I
first saw him, I said, there goes my future husband
and mom, and behold, I guess I was right.
Speaker 2 (07:21):
And what's his name?
Speaker 6 (07:23):
His name is Noah.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
And you knew that Noah was the one right away.
Speaker 6 (07:28):
Yeah, it was kind of silly, but yeah, I guess
I did. And you know, we've been able to stay
super close. He's been my best friend and my love
since then, and we've gone through a lot and had
an amazing journey together. But yet we're still just super
super sweethearts. And anybody who knows us can say that
(07:51):
about us, that we're just just like kids in love.
Speaker 2 (07:53):
Normally, when people call in gush like you, they've been together,
you don't like about four hours and they're just like
so head over heels in love. But this has been
more than four or five hours. Yeah, how many years?
Speaker 6 (08:05):
You know? Since I was twelve, I'm thirty one. Now.
Your whole life, my whole life, it seems Yep.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
You're blessed.
Speaker 6 (08:12):
You're very blessed, bless and we're blessed with two children
as well, and just have had an amazing life together
and he's so incredibly romantic, and every day we just
we give thanks for our love. We listen to your
show and as we put our children to sleep at
night and listen to the stories, and we just smile
at each other and just we're just so grateful for
(08:33):
our love. And we dance to your songs, and we
sing our songs to each other, and we just, you know,
we we pray with those who need a prayer, and
we celebrate with those who are celebrating. And so I
thought i'd, you know, share my story and you know,
celebrate with my love.
Speaker 1 (08:54):
I so hope you have enjoyed these radio moments as
much as I enjoy bringing them to you. More with
you each weekday on Hey It's Delilah Del
