Speaker 1 (00:02):
Hey, it's Delilah. Thank you for stopping by. I have
put together some of my favorite radio moments here to
share with you on our daily podcast. Wherever you are,
whatever you're doing, the summer is coming to a close.
(00:24):
I hope you had a spectacular summer. I hope you
created so many memories with your kids, with your family,
with your friends.
Speaker 2 (00:32):
This summer.
Speaker 1 (00:33):
We had a wonderful summer. And though I hate for
it to come to a close, I love this season,
Oh do I ever? I love going for a ride
on my horses when the leaves are falling and the
air is crisp and the sky as that deep saturated,
beautiful blue. My heart is filled with joy and I
(00:55):
love sharing that with you.
Speaker 2 (01:00):
On Welcome to the Delilah Show. How are you tonight?
Speaker 3 (01:02):
I'm doing just fine.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
How are you?
Speaker 2 (01:04):
I'm a little tired, but good. Who are you thinking
of tonight?
Speaker 3 (01:09):
I wanted to request the song from my kids?
Speaker 2 (01:12):
What are their names?
Speaker 3 (01:13):
I have a thirteen year old Ala and a eleven
year old Corey, and then I've got a two year
old Michael.
Speaker 2 (01:20):
And are the older ones back in school now?
Speaker 4 (01:22):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (01:22):
They are?
Speaker 2 (01:23):
And you are you excited about that? Or kind of sad.
Speaker 3 (01:26):
I'm excited.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
I'm actually sad because I don't do well with schedules
and routines, so having to get up at the same
time every day, get them out the door, and drive
them to school is a difficult task for me. Yeah,
and I kind of like, you know, the fun and
the laid back and the you know, just the fun
we had this summer.
Speaker 3 (01:47):
Oh it always is. You ain't got a bunch of
them running around?
Speaker 2 (01:50):
What can I play for your kids?
Speaker 3 (01:52):
They've been the past couple of years, they've been through
quite a bit. We've seen the birth of the new
boy or the two year old. And then my fir
stepfather died and they went through a custody change. They
had to move to a new city, go to a
new school, and get used to a new set of rules.
And I always remember to say something when they don't
do what they're supposed to do, but I don't always
(02:12):
remember to thank them when they do.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
So just to thank you for being terrific kids, son, Yeah, okay,
I'll do that for you, honey.
Speaker 3 (02:18):
All right, thank you, Bye bye, bye bye.
Speaker 5 (02:27):
Hi it's Joanna.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
Joanna, do you have a favorite summer memory you want
to share?
Speaker 1 (02:31):
With us.
Speaker 5 (02:32):
Oh, well, I'm letting we get dedication to my boyfriend.
We met when we were younger. It's kind of weird
my sister's boyfriend. It's just like two sisters dating two brothers,
and so that's kind of how we met.
Speaker 3 (02:45):
And we were fifteen, and.
Speaker 5 (02:46):
So it was kind of like he was like my
very first boyfriend. And then I wasn't allowed to do
it at the time. So a couple of years went
by and we both had our own relationships, and then
a little over a year ago he decided to message
me on Facebook say hey, how are you doing, and
we kind of hit it off again. We've been dating.
(03:09):
It'll be two years ago.
Speaker 2 (03:10):
So do you think this is it?
Speaker 4 (03:13):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (03:13):
I do. They say, if you have what you want
to let it go.
Speaker 6 (03:17):
When it comes back to you, it's yours, right, they
do say that.
Speaker 2 (03:21):
So is your sister still dating his brother?
Speaker 5 (03:24):
Yes? Yeah, they're married. The two little kids.
Speaker 2 (03:26):
Now, well, how sweet is that?
Speaker 1 (03:28):
So your cousins, if you married this man and have kids,
you'll have double cousins. When two siblings married two siblings,
the cousins are have the same DNA as if they
were brothers and sisters.
Speaker 5 (03:41):
Practically Oh, yeah, true, so that probably looks the same
and everything. Hey, at least my kids will be cute.
Speaker 1 (03:47):
Right, Well, if your boyfriend's cute, then chances are, because
I can tell by your voice you're a little doll,
chances are they'll be wicked cute things. All right, Thank
you for listening and letting me be a part of
this fun little romance.
Speaker 5 (04:04):
Thanks so much, Chalila.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
Hi is this Holly?
Speaker 4 (04:11):
This is Holly.
Speaker 2 (04:12):
Hi, Holly, tell me about your get togethers.
Speaker 4 (04:15):
Well, it started last fall when reconnected with a childhood friend.
We had not really seen each other or talked since
for probably twenty five years, since her father died, and
we met for breakfast and our friendship just clicked instantly
again like it had when we were kids, and so
(04:38):
we decided to spend some time together and get to
know each other again and develop traditions that we would
pass on to our own children. So we took some
time to go camping. And actually I had never been
camping before, so she had suggested it and I said,
I said, oh, like a vacation, Like I'm any vacation,
And she said, sure, let's do that. But he's a
(05:00):
big camper, and I thought well, I don't know if
I can do this. And I said, well, let me
make reservations at a hotel and she laughed and said
no no no.
Speaker 2 (05:07):
Or no no no no no. Camping c A M.
P ing is not spelled h O T E L.
Speaker 4 (05:13):
Well that's exactly right.
Speaker 1 (05:15):
So you're like my producer Jane. Her idea of camping
is going to a hotel that doesn't have high speed
internet access.
Speaker 4 (05:21):
That's exactly right.
Speaker 1 (05:22):
Yeah, yeah, no, I love camping And Jane would rather
have her teeth drilled without the aid of anesthesia.
Speaker 4 (05:30):
This is this is how I felt until I did it,
and it was the most marvelous weekend that I have had.
And so on.
Speaker 1 (05:37):
I love to go camping because that was the only
vacation I had when I was a kid.
Speaker 4 (05:42):
Well, I would do anything now to go camping. I'll
drop whatever I'm doing to go.
Speaker 2 (05:46):
Good for you.
Speaker 4 (05:47):
Absolutely love it, and it's it's made all the difference
in reconnecting with our friendship, and it's just it's been
terrific because we've from from camping together. We've figured out
which things that we did when we were growing up,
which things our parents tried to teach us to pass
on that we decided we want to continue and make
sure that those things aren't lost, those traditions and family
(06:11):
values that we don't want to get lost. So it's
been marvelous.
Speaker 1 (06:14):
Well, I'm glad that your friend came back into your life.
I'm glad she converted you to a camper, but mostly
I'm glad that you're establishing memories for yourself and your
children that'll last a lifetime.
Speaker 4 (06:26):
Absolutely, that's what it's all about.
Speaker 7 (06:28):
It is, it's what life is all about. Hi, good evening,
Welcome to the Delilah Show.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
Who's this Hi?
Speaker 6 (06:40):
This is Samantha.
Speaker 2 (06:41):
Samantha. What can I do for you tonight?
Speaker 6 (06:44):
Well, this is actually the first time I've kind of
hold of you.
Speaker 1 (06:49):
I'm glad you made it through, Honey. Now that you're here,
what can I do for you.
Speaker 7 (06:53):
As we wind summer down and look forward to the
autumn ahead.
Speaker 6 (06:57):
Well, I have a crush over the summer, and he
asked me out today and it just means a lot
to me. I really like him and I want to
dedicate to him.
Speaker 2 (07:09):
Okay, what's his name?
Speaker 6 (07:11):
The name is Marcos.
Speaker 2 (07:13):
So you had a.
Speaker 1 (07:13):
Little crush during the summer and Marco's finally yet let
you know that the feelings were mutual.
Speaker 6 (07:19):
Yes, we started talking last Thursday on the phone, and
the first time we started talking, we actually talked for
six hours.
Speaker 2 (07:27):
Wow.
Speaker 6 (07:28):
And the entire time it was like sweet talk.
Speaker 1 (07:32):
So you're just giddy with excitement, yes I am. You
can't sleep, you can't eat.
Speaker 6 (07:39):
Yes exactly.
Speaker 5 (07:41):
But actually I just got off.
Speaker 6 (07:43):
The sun with him, and you can call you back
in a bit. But I wanted to dedicates on to him.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
What song would you like to hear? Do you want
me to find one?
Speaker 6 (07:52):
I was thinking about Endless Love cyber I carry.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
Oh wait a second, that's like a serious song after
you're into the relationship, just in the infatuation stage right now.
Hi know, man, let's slow down, put the brig slow down.
Speaker 2 (08:08):
Girlfriend.
Speaker 1 (08:09):
Yeah you can't.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
You can't appear too eager, honey, Yeah, I don't.
Speaker 1 (08:14):
You gotta be kind of cool, kind of reserve, take
your time, all right.
Speaker 6 (08:20):
Well, then I would like you to pick a song
to week.
Speaker 1 (08:22):
I will find a good one for you, right, thank you, Okay,
you have a great night.
Speaker 6 (08:27):
Good too.
Speaker 2 (08:35):
Hi, thank you for calling.
Speaker 3 (08:36):
Hi.
Speaker 2 (08:37):
Is this Delilah?
Speaker 6 (08:38):
It is?
Speaker 2 (08:38):
Who's this?
Speaker 8 (08:41):
This is Courtney and Mary Leslie.
Speaker 2 (08:43):
Courtney and Mary Leslie.
Speaker 8 (08:46):
Yes, and we're best friends and we listen to your
show every night. And we had to make a request
to our favorite song that we drive around listening to
all the time.
Speaker 1 (08:55):
Okay, what is the favorite song that you drive around
listening to?
Speaker 8 (09:00):
We wanted to listen to Endless Summer Nights by Richard Marx.
Speaker 2 (09:04):
Love that song.
Speaker 8 (09:06):
We love that song, and that's our favorite song. We
thought we would play it and sit and listen to you.
We love you.
Speaker 2 (09:14):
I'm glad you enjoy listening to the show.
Speaker 1 (09:16):
I'm sorry that summer is coming to a close all
too quickly.

I know us too, us too, but you know.
Speaker 2 (09:24):
And did you have a fun summer.
Speaker 8 (09:26):
We had a great summer. We had a fabulous summer.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
I will play that song for you and all the
other folks that are kind of sad to see summer
come to a close.
Speaker 6 (09:36):
Well, thank you.
