In this episode, Julie interviews Melissa McDow, a career coach for women in transition.

As a coach, Melissa focuses on helping people reach their full potential in their personal and professional development by helping them to clearly understand their goals so they can achieve them. During her career, she worked for several different organizations where she focused on sales, customer service, training, leadership development and coaching in both non-insurance and insurance industries.  Her entrepreneurial spirit allowed her to start her own insurance agency in 2005, where she was able to apply the skills she learned in “corporate”.  The knowledge she gained helped her be better at understanding all aspects of business and the perspective of the customer.  Now, her primary focus is on guiding women who are in their early and mid-career stages to be their BEST SELF.

During her spare time, she loves to travel with her husband and spend time with her family and friends. She also enjoys giving back to her community in a variety of ways.  She has been happily married to Joe for 15 years AND proud to be a Jersey girl.

Find her through her partnership with her husband's coaching business at the links below.

Cardiac Cowboys

Cardiac Cowboys

The heart was always off-limits to surgeons. Cutting into it spelled instant death for the patient. That is, until a ragtag group of doctors scattered across the Midwest and Texas decided to throw out the rule book. Working in makeshift laboratories and home garages, using medical devices made from scavenged machine parts and beer tubes, these men and women invented the field of open heart surgery. Odds are, someone you know is alive because of them. So why has history left them behind? Presented by Chris Pine, CARDIAC COWBOYS tells the gripping true story behind the birth of heart surgery, and the young, Greatest Generation doctors who made it happen. For years, they competed and feuded, racing to be the first, the best, and the most prolific. Some appeared on the cover of Time Magazine, operated on kings and advised presidents. Others ended up disgraced, penniless, and convicted of felonies. Together, they ignited a revolution in medicine, and changed the world.
