The ALHS School Social Work Team joins Principal Dibble to talk about Mental Health in the schools and community. Joining the Podcast are Mary Larscheid, Heather Leiste, Sheena Possin and Brittany Roberts. We will preview the Mental Health Color Run as well as what social work programs throughout the district are all about.

After an extended break, the podcast returns with a preview of the big Prom weekend at ALHS. Prom Advisory Katie Cords joins to give all the details.

Albert Lea Girls Hockey captured the Big 9 Conference Championship last week. Ledge and the Dib are joined by Shelby Evans, Hanna Austinson, Mika Cichosz and Olivia Ellsworth to talk everything Girls Hockey and winning the first Big 9 Conference Title in Albert Lea history. It's a great day to be a Tiger!

Ledge and the Dib welcome Sheena Possin and Brittany Roberts, two of the newest social workers at Albert Lea High School. Along with Dr. Mary Larscheid and Heather Leiste, Sheena and Brittany make up the fantastic team of school social workers at ALHS.  The role of social workers and mental health in general is discussed. Mental health is important! Sheena and Brittany give an introduction to the new Tiger Coordinating Counsel.

Ledge and the Dib are joined by members of the Albert Lea High School Robotics Team that go by the code name "The Broken Zip Ties." Learn more about this year's game from Ty, Aaron and Brecken--as well as how tournaments work. Prepare for Albert Lea's first shot at hosting a huge tournament and learn how to volunteer to be a part of something big.

Ledge and the Dib are joined by three members of the Albert Lea High School Mock Trial team for a Mock Trial Deep Dive. Learn all about the case and the different roles as well as what Mock Trial is. Alizay and Mint bring their Mock Trial expertise to the mics.

ALHS Tiger Talk comes back after a break with review of 2024 including news of the week, memories from semester 1, behavior at athletic events, a mock trial preview and just a touch of hockey.

The Albert Lea Tribune Standout Student for December 20 joins as the guest--senior Mr. Jackson Drescher.

A couple of Mean Girls join the podcast to talk up this year's ALHS music, Mean Girls.  Wait--they aren't mean, the show is mean; wait--maybe they are mean??

Anyway, we drop the episode a few days early to invite Director Mary Schoppers and Lead Bailey Abrego to talk about the fall musical "Mean Girls" at ALHS. The show runs Thursday, November 20-Saturday, November 22 with all shows starting at 7 p.m.

We take a break from the educational world to dive into fantasy football at the halfway point of the NFL season. Steve Alford (not the one from Indiana, the one from Albert Lea) joins to talk the intricacies of fantasy football. Everyone needs a break every so often--might as well be fantasy football!

A shift in the way parent-teacher conferences work will take place on Monday, November 4. We invite in a teacher and parent to talk about the importance of conferences, how they work, and what to look for. Diane Henry is a social studies teacher at ALHS and a parent of two elementary students who attend Lakeview Elementary.

Jenny Habana and Jenny Hendrickson join the podcast to go over everything attendance the the road to truancy with Freeborn County. Attendance is the number one indicator of student success and a very important part of what schools track and look for ways to improve.

Science guru Ken Fiscus joins the podcast to review the amazing auroras from last night (and hopefully tonight) and the Comet A3 which will be visible to the naked eye for the next couple of weeks.

ALHS welding instructor Jeff Jenson gives a tour of the updated welding lab in Albert Lea High School that he basically built. This episode will have a video component available on the ALHS YouTube channel accompanying the podcast. Thanks to the ALHS Tiger Vision class for running cameras!

Albert Lea High School counselor Jess Hatland joins the podcast to give a preview of College Knowledge Month that takes place over the month of October.
