(00:00):
Hey everyone and welcome back to Be Well Club.
Today we are leaving the get rich quick schemes behind and venturing beyond
the typical goal-setting frenzy.
We're talking about crafting a life filled with purpose, not just checking things off a list.

(00:20):
I know I love checking things off a list, but corrupting your purpose is way beyond that.
And also, it is a super fun adventure.
So put down that endless to-do list, grab your favorite beverage,
and settle in for some soul searching inspiration.

(00:43):
Let's be honest, our ambitious and driven listeners here, whether Whether you're
navigating the corporate world or building your own empire, you know the hamster
wheel feeling all too well, right?
You achieve one goal only to find another waiting.
And there is always this nagging question.

(01:06):
Is this it? But what if there is more?
What if there is a way to design a life that feels deeply meaningful,
where goals naturally emerge from a core sense of purpose?
Imagine yourself standing on a

(01:27):
bustling city street, a kaleidoscope of possibilities swirling around you.
But this time, you're not just another face in a crowd.
You have a unique talent a story
to tell a contribution to make
but amidst the noise i know

(01:48):
it is easy to lose sight of that bigger picture and that's
the power of purpose it is not just reaching a specific goal like say steve
jobs revolutionizing technology with apple or or Mary Barra becoming the first

(02:10):
female CEO of a major automaker.
It's honestly more than that. It's understanding your unique place in the grand scheme of things.
It is the compass that guides your journey, even when the path gets foggy. Yeah, that's right.
So I remember being stuck in this thought process all the time when I was in my corporate role.

(02:36):
And looking back now, I actually did not realize that this was a very common thought. And.
The reason why I kept thinking this way is because I haven't truly found my
purpose, you know, my why.
So you might be wondering, how do we find this elusive purpose?

(03:00):
Yeah, I know. I actually, you know, read lots of books, took lots of quizzes,
and did a lot of searching, right?
Right and it came down to
these three key steps that I'm
about to share and obviously these are tried and tested but yours truly and

(03:25):
also inspired by renowned figures you might resonate with so let's dive in okay
first things first what you gotta do is unplug and reflect.
Take a cue from Oprah Winfrey, who famously stepped away from talk show success

(03:47):
to explore her deeper calling.
In the quiet moments, she actually rediscovered her passion for storytelling and and empowerment,
and which is why she launched the initiatives like O Magazine and OWN.

(04:08):
So similarly, you have to step away from the noise, unplug from devices,
and connect with your inner voice.
Ask yourself, what truly lights me up? What impact do I want to make?
Remember, the answers might surprise you.
But embrace the journey. And it's okay if you find yourself having different

(04:36):
answers each time you do this simple, small exercise with yourself.
Because you got to remember, you know, like we, or rather our thoughts,
and the way we think rather,
is very much influenced by our environment,
you know where we are what our

(04:56):
mindset is like and so it
is completely okay for you to have different answers but make
sure you are keeping them all in say a folder or in your google docs and then
revisit them each time because i promise you're gonna find that common thing

(05:16):
around each of your answers because that's actually what happened with me.
All right so my story when I was
going through this exact step, I actually took
a trip to a place where no one knows me switched off my mobile data and also
my work entirely honestly because my job required me to be on call all the time

(05:40):
shutting it off actually was so good good.
And it was also my first time shutting it off. So yeah, I really enjoyed it.
But anyway, it was super peaceful. And this was also when I found that spark
in me to be a wellness coach for career driven women like you.

(06:00):
Alright, so the next step is to embrace your why.
Just like Serena Williams found her why in breaking barriers in tennis.
Identifying your core purpose fuels your actions.
Was it Sheryl Sandberg's groundbreaking book Lean In that maybe ignited your

(06:26):
passion for women's leadership?
Or Mark Cuban's journey from investor to shark tank entrepreneur that sparked
your dream of building your own business.
Whatever your why is, I want you to own it with passion.

(06:47):
Let it be your North Star. I remember reading Simon Sinek's book years ago and
then completing his workbook to find my why years later actually.
And it really helped.
Also, to those that contributed to finding my why, here is a huge thank you.

(07:11):
But anyway, so if you aren't sure where to start, I strongly suggest reading
Simon's book on Start With Why.
And then jumping to his workbook to find your own why.
It does take quite a bit of time, but I promise it is going to be worth it.

(07:36):
All right, so the final step is to design, don't just chase.
I want you to think of your life as a masterpiece in progress,
like the innovative products designed by Elon Musk or the impactful social programs

(07:57):
spearheaded by Melinda Gates.
You see, each of their decision was intentional and I guess it is still intentional,
reflecting their vision and values.
So we got to learn from that. Instead of chasing random goals,
start designing your life with purpose in mind.

(08:20):
Ask yourself, does building a sustainable future like Leonardo DiCaprio resonate with you?
Or perhaps crafting exceptional experience like Richard Branson inspires you?
Anyway, remember, purpose is a journey, not a destination.
Enjoy the process of creating your unique masterpiece.

(08:44):
It took me almost a year to slowly design and get to where I wanted to be,
or I guess where I am right now too.
And honestly, I am still designing this journey of mine.
And I'm loving every moment of it. I've also learned to appreciate the process
of designing instead of chasing.
I remember I was always chasing. Chasing to become the next manager,

(09:12):
chasing to get collaboration or whatever, right?
But honestly, it does get exhausting once you get there, right?
As soon as you hit your goal, wherever you want to be when you are chasing.
And then after that, you still feel empty.

(09:33):
You feel unfulfilled. you're unhappy and you
wonder why because you're not
designing the process you're you're just chasing and
that's not what we want and that's not how you are going to find your own purpose
so like oprah serena cheryl mark

(09:54):
elon and melinda you too have a unique story to tell Trust me, you do.
Your purpose awaits not in the corner office, but within the whispers of your soul.
So ditch the endless list and embark on a quest for purpose.

(10:18):
It is a journey of self discovery, connection, and ultimately a life overflowing
with meaning. And that's what you you want, right?
I promise it is extremely rewarding.
I did it and I've never been happier with my journey and where I'm going.
It's so magical and I feel passionate waking up every morning to do what I truly love.

(10:44):
Alright, so that's all for today. Remember, designing a life Life with purpose
is a personal adventure.
Take these steps, explore your inner compass, and create a life that truly resonates with your soul.
