Printre priorităţile Comisiei Europene se numără investiţiile în energie regenerabilă şi în reţeaua de transport şi reducerea costurilor de producţie. Planul de acțiune pentru energie la prețuri accesibile, ca parte a Acordului Industrial Curat al Uniunii Europene, ar urma să ducă la economii totale estimate la 45 de miliarde de euro în 2025, care vor crește progresiv până la 130 de miliarde de euro pe an până în 2030.
