(00:04):
Hi there. I'm Hamish Macdonald. I helped care for my dad,
who was diagnosed with Lewy body dementia and Parkinson's a few years ago.
And I'm Jim Rogers, and I'm living with younger onset Alzheimer's.
In a moment, we've got a very big announcement for you, but in the meantime, I want to say
thank you so much for listening to season one of Hold the Moment and for all of the wonderful

(00:25):
feedback. Have you had nice feedback, Jim?Incredible feedback. So many people have told me
it's been so helpful and so informative.During season one, we talked to lots of
other people living with dementia about their diagnosis stories. How they're keeping healthy,
what they're doing to prepare themselves; even how they're maintaining their sleep
patterns. And how they're handling the difficult, emotional side of what they're going through.

(00:48):
So many standout stories made it really interesting.
I know you loved Pam and her blue coffin, from season one.
I just loved Pam.I'm very lucky because I was diagnosed early,
because that allowed me to do what I did to get my — I call my ‘active dying plan’ out of the way,
and now I'm on my ‘active living plan’ and my ‘adventure with dementia’.

(01:10):
That's a slogan that everyone's talking about. But I loved hearing your journey as well. Meeting
Ty, your husband, and your daughters, and hear about what this experience has been like for
them, and in many ways that's informed our decision about what we've got to announce.
Absolutely. Well, the big announcement is we're back for a second season. Everyone's in the
background working really hard on this and we've got some incredible people, who are sharing all of

(01:35):
their information and journey around caring. Why have we decided to focus on carers? Why is
that such an important piece of the puzzle? You're living with younger onset Alzheimer's:
why do the carers matter so much?I think it's so important to hear the
other side of the coin. You know, you know yourself how hard it is to navigate through
that system. And carers come in all shapes and sizes: they're sons, daughters, wives, husbands,

(02:02):
the broader family, friends. I think, you know, when somebody's diagnosed, it's not just them
that's affected, it's everybody else involved and this is a great way for people to learn
great things that you would not know about. So keep listening and you'll get loads of info.
You're going to meet some incredible people over the course of season two. It'll launch in the

(02:24):
coming months. Make sure you're following us in your podcast app to get updates when
new episodes will drop. In the meantime, while you're waiting for season two, you can go back
and listen to the entire first season of Hold the Moment. It's available in your podcast feed. Jim,
can you get back to work please?Okay. You're so bossy Ham!
