After I revealed in an Instagram video on Friday that Micah and Ankita had been axed from Married At First Sight 2026, with all of their scenes set to be deleted, everyone has been asking why. I now have the full untold story, including what went down day-by-day and what will happen next...

PS: Is it pronounced Micah or Mikah? I kept getting mixed up my apologies to all Micahs out there.

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Hello, and welcome back to the MATHSWNY podcast with me
Joshua Fox. And as some of you will have seen
on my socials on Friday night, I broke the news
that Mika and Ankeita, a couple on the upcoming twenty
twenty six season of Married at First Sight, had been
axed from the show, with producers now planning on just
never airing their wedding, deleting all of their scenes, and

(00:23):
pretending that they were never there in the first place.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
Except they were.

Speaker 1 (00:28):
And for those of you who are a little bit confused,
I am now going to reveal for the first time
the full story of what exactly went down from start
to finish. So on July twenty ninth, the show filmed
one of the final weddings of the upcoming season in
Sydney's Darling Point between a couple who genuinely seemed to

(00:50):
be a good match and who connected straight away. And
I know that because I was there and I watched
as those sparks flew. And then hours after that couple
said I do Ali at Daily Mail did an article
iding them as sports reporter a Keita and finance broker Micah,
and then I posted my video the same day crashing
their wedding, which quickly went viral with one point five

(01:13):
million views in total as of right now, And just
to put that into context, when married at First Sight
as in Australia, it tends to average around one point
five million viewers nationally each episode. So essentially my video
crashing their wedding has been watched by as many people
who would like watch it when it finally airs on TV.
And between my video and Ali's article on July twenty nine,

(01:38):
quite literally millions of people across the country, including all
of their exes, would have found out that these two
people and Keita and Micah would be on the new
season of Maths. The following day, July thirtieth, as Micah
and Keita went on their honeymoon, I received an Instagram
message from a burner account. The anonymous center claimed they

(01:58):
were an ex of Micah. He never should have been
cast on the show and they'd already emailed production company
Animal Shine Australia stating he should be removed. And I
asked why and like what he's done? Have they got
any evidence? Like what receipts do they have? Like if
me as a journalist, I'm gonna, you know, put this
out publicly. I kind of need to know how to

(02:19):
stand it up. But they didn't wish to elaborate further
or share any further details. The day after that, so
July thirty first now, a woman named Monica made a
TikTok you have likely seen, claiming it was really concerning
that Mike had been cast on the show. She claimed
that she would soon be sharing something damaging about him
while or so kind of asking Animal Shine Australia to

(02:42):
remove him from production. Monica never actually made an accusation
in her video other than stating that she.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
Would soon kind of reveal what she was alluding to.

Speaker 1 (02:52):
But that video of her has gained like one hundred
thousand views overnight and it started this.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
Movement almost of and especially female.

Speaker 1 (03:01):
Fans, raising their concerns over background checks and questioning the
safety of participants on this show, which is something I
can say, because I know this from so many sources
that Animals Show in Australia and Channel nine very much
want to avoid happening this time around. They don't want
these questions being constantly asked. They just want to make
a show that rates well.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
And as this was all happening.

Speaker 1 (03:24):
I had a journalist friend of mine run Micah's name
through like court records to see if there was any
legal stuff in his past, but nothing came up there
or in a police check. Now, let's jump forward two
days to August second, which is when Micah and Ankita
returned to Sydney from their honeymoon, and like, by this point,
they're both aware of Moniker's TikTok, but as far as

(03:46):
I'm told, they didn't think it would lead to anything,
because Micah said he's got nothing to hide and he
wasn't sure himself apparently what was even being alluded to.
But the issue is, as that TikTok continued to gain
traction and more and more female views of the show
started calling for his removal, despite none of them yet
having shared any actual accusation or evidence of like criminality.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
Producers then were like, well what do we do here?

Speaker 1 (04:13):
So August second, they returned from their honeymoon, and I'm
told by several sources that they then put them both
into separate hotels while they figured out a plan how
to proceed, and they kind of told Micah and Keita, hey,
this is normal, you're staying separate hotels until the first
dinner party, which is not what happens at all. And
then on Monday, August fourth, I believe, Micah was then

(04:35):
taken into Channel nine for an emergency meeting where he
was asked about whatever had been alleged in an email
to them. I'm told he denied whatever it was, and
he believed that it wouldn't lead to anything as there
was no evidence apparently of whatever the claim was. And
then after that, Micah was sent back to his hotel
and Keita remained in hers, and they were both told

(04:56):
to just like hang tight for a couple more days
while nine and and them all figured out what did
we do here now? The day after that meeting, so Tuesday,
August fifth, now was the first dinner party of the season,
and I'm told that as all the cast arrived, they
were basically told, Hey, Micah and Ankeita won't be joining.
They have been removed from the show and can none
of you mention them going forward?

Speaker 2 (05:17):
Thank you.

Speaker 1 (05:18):
But like remember, all the girls had met and Keita
at the Hen's party and had become friends with her
like they connected on Instagram. They had each other's phone
numbers and similar with the guys and micro at the
Books party. So naturally them not being there would become
a topic of conversation at the first dinner party, because
you know, if they just decided to quit themselves sort
of split up on the honeymoon, the rest of the

(05:39):
cast would talk about it as that would be like
the first big storyline of the season.

Speaker 2 (05:43):
But no, the reason.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
Producers didn't want them ever being even mentioned at all
was because again, as far as I'm told, not only
had the decision now been made to remove them, but
the decision had also been made to just never their wedding,
cut them out of the Hens and Books party, and
just like pretend they were never there.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
And now this is.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
Where it gets even more awkward because as the castor
are told that at the first dinner party August fifth,
Mika and Ankita still hadn't been told, and they were
in their separate hotels like still waiting, thinking they were
going to go onto the show still.

Speaker 2 (06:21):
And then the following morning, now.

Speaker 1 (06:22):
August sixth, as the rest of the cast all moved
into the same building together in Sydney, you know, with
me outside doing my thing, I'm told that some of
them reached out to Ankeita had been like, what the
fuck is going on here? And some of the grooms
did the same to Micah, And it wasn't until the
day after that, with Micah and Ankita still being told
just hanged tight. It wasn't then until August seventh that

(06:45):
they were told, Nah, you're off the show. Sorry, like
pack your bag, see you later. Now, I know that
the main question that everyone's going to have is well,
what was the accusation? And firstly, I don't know myself,
but in this case, the accusation itself is almost irrelevant
because the narrative had already been established across social media,
and like, if he remained on the show, it was

(07:07):
going to be a big issue for both Enimal Shine
Australia and Channel nine. So then they all kind of
had to make a decision, and it was do we
stand by this guy who's denying whatever's being said and
if there's no police report then do we just assume
he's innocent like he says, or do we just get
rid of him now while we still can to avoid

(07:29):
the drama of it all and to avoid this being
dragged out as a scandal for months and months and
months and months and I don't know if some of
you guys remember, but this actually happened in season nine
of the show in twenty twenty one when that was filmed.
The series started with a couple called Jess and Simon
who got married, and it was about a week and

(07:49):
a half into production back then, when it was filmed
September twenty twenty one, I actually reviewed on my platforms
that Simon had like a big history of post and
very problematic stuff across social media, like homophobic stuff, sexist, misogynistic, like,
and there was no denying his clear hate speech.

Speaker 2 (08:10):
That's how it.

Speaker 1 (08:10):
Can be described as those videos like he chose to
put out there, Like you can say he said something homophobic,
but there was a video there to he was making
jokes about gays having aids or something. It was actually
fucking horrible anyway. But as my post about that went viral,
questioning why is this man on the show, Masks did
then make the decision then to just acting because it

(08:31):
was still so early into production and again they could
do that, they could delete the wedding and cut him
out of the books party. That season, they also then
brought Jess back as an intruder. You may remember she
married Daniel Holmes before he then cheated on her with Carolina.
But on the show when she did come back midway
through with Daniel, it was never actually addressed that, hey,
you know, this was the second husband and she was

(08:51):
already there at the start.

Speaker 2 (08:52):
They just swept that under the rug and it was
never mentioned.

Speaker 1 (08:56):
And I mentioned Jess there because I know a lot
of people are now speculating that and Keith will return
as an intruder, And I'm told that she's also wondering
the same thing with Channel nine apparently, like dangling, this
is a bit of a carrot in front of her
with the potential of that happening. But as far as
I'm told as of right now, like no, she will
not be returning and that won't be happening, and they're

(09:18):
just giving her false hope to prevent her speaking out.
You know, as this little media storm around her exit
plays out, of course, things could change and she may return.
But the issue Maths has is if she does return
as an intruder and the show never references Micah, and
you know, the fact this whole thing happened, all.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
The viewers already know about it, like mostly.

Speaker 1 (09:40):
Facts to me, Ali Monica's TikTok and now the articles
that are happening. So therefore, if she was brought back
as an intruder when those scenes there and her new
relationship as there would just be a whirlwind of press
articles and scandal and controversy and everyone bringing this drama
back up, and that would just overshadow the new season.

(10:02):
Whereas if she doesn't return by the time the new
season airs, like they'll rarely be mentioned.

Speaker 2 (10:08):
Then most people will have forgotten and would all have
moved on.

Speaker 1 (10:11):
So yeah, that's why I'm told she won't be returning again.
Things could change, But do you see the point I'm
trying to make. Yeah, that's pretty much everything from start
to finish. It like a lot happened in the space
of about six days. But like, what's kind of interesting
and a bit funny to think about is if Ali
and I both like held our content from their wedding

(10:33):
day on July twenty ninth, and Nera was like posted
or revealed that Micah and Keita were on the season,
they likely would still be on there because the public
then wouldn't know they're on there. And then say, for example,
we didn't post our content until six weeks time, like
halfway through the season, and it was only then that
people in his past realized, oh, this guy's on the shower,

(10:53):
and then they started, you know, trying to get him
removed and posting about him. Mass wouldn't have been able
to just remove them by this point and you know,
delete that scenes because it'd be too far into it.
And this is exactly what happened with Adrian and Athena
on this past season. Like by the time people started
making claims about him and digging up things from his past,

(11:13):
it was past halfway through production, and like he was
an integrald cast member who they physically couldn't edit out
as he was linked to so many storylines and you know,
as we are seeing, his inclusion then led to months
and months and months of scandal in the media on
social media, questions about the duty of care, questions about
background checks, and.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
It was just endless.

Speaker 1 (11:37):
And yeah, I suppose thanks to Ali and myself they
were able to act quickly and avoid that happening again
by just removing him within days of his wedding, because
we promoted the fact that this bloke he's on there
and people had seen that, so to the producers listening,
and I know that you all do. You're welcome, I think,

(11:58):
or I'm sorry. I'm not sure what the right thing
you hear is, but yeah, that is everything that's happened,
start to finish,
