"The solution isn’t what you reach for in the crisis it’s what you’ve built long before it." In Part 3 of this eye-opening series with Trish Caldwell, Mind Amendment host Patrick Custer digs deeper into why healing often feels elusive even when we “know what to do.” Trish flips the script on the traditional view of coping skills like deep breathing or journaling as emergency tools. Instead, she argues that these practices only work when they’ve been integrated consistently into daily life, expanding our emotional tolerance long before a trigger ever shows up. This conversation explores how to identify your personal "tells" the subtle signs that you (or your clients) are already in a vulnerable, dysregulated state. Trish shares why the key to real healing is recognizing these moments of susceptibility and shifting the focus from reacting in crisis to preventing it through proactive self-regulation. Get ready for a powerful reframing of what emotional healing really looks like and why it starts way earlier than most of us think.
