We are living in a divided country and we are all feeling the effects of the divisiveness, non-stop negativity and the 24-hour news cycle. It is Election Day 2024 and today, I am having conversations with Amy Laughlin and Dr. JB Rose to share some basic tools and practices, beginning with some simple breathing exercises and moving through some additional grounding practices to help us regulate our nervous systems and resource ourselves when we feel anxious, and dysregulated, especially when there is a big unknown, we have a deep desire for a particular outcome and the stakes feel high.
.
If you are feeling stressed today, remember that if you have voted, you have done your part to influence the outcome of this election. So today, do something that aligns with your values and fills you up. Donate to your local food pantry, check in on a friend, bring flowers to someone who is under the weather, volunteer for an organization that is meaningful to you and smile at everyone you meet today and in the days to come. Remember to BE the person who reflects the future you want to create.
And take a listen to this great episode filled with actionable tools to use today and beyond,
to calm ourselves, to soothe ourselves, and to feel connected and grounded in this really complex season. I hope you enjoy it!
Thank you for listening. We are so happy you found us.

About Amy Laughlin
Amy Laughlin is a Cowry Shell Diviner of the Dagara tradition from Burkina Faso as taught by Elder Malidoma Patrice Some as well as a Breathwork facilitator. After 20 plus years of attempts to heal her own diagnosed depression, anxiety, OCD and anorexia through western modalities, she found the answers she needed through indigenous practices and somatic healing modalities. She hopes to usher in new awareness, compassion and hope for those suffering from mental illness through alternative healing modalities by reconnecting individuals to the true voice of their soul and intuition. Her hope is that we all may remember just how unique, essential and powerful we all are as individuals so that we may become the co creators of the lives we came here to live and embody the love we all deserve to experience.
