Welcome to the first episode of Season 2 and episode 22 of Nine to Thrive: The Well-Being Podcast.

I turned 60 last week and I am celebrating the privilege of aging. In this episode, LA Glassford and I discuss thriving as we age in a society that values youth and beauty. Together we explore the concept of ageism and the pressure to conform to societal expectations, and  the importance of curiosity and self-discovery as we get older. The conversation highlights the gift of aging and the wisdom that comes with it. We also discuss the challenges, and need for things like more conversations about menopause,  the impact of lookism, the loneliness epidemic and what the societal narratives are around getting older.

One thing we know for sure is that embracing aging is easier when we prioritize our mental, emotional, physical and spiritual well-being.

We also talk about the power of connection as an essential part of our well-being and the challenges to creating more connection is a divisive and disconnected world. If you are looing for some inspiration and if you believe it is never too late to see life through a lens of  curiosity, open-mindedness, and meaningful relationships, then take a listen.

Thank you for listening. We are so happy you found us.

After 3 decades in corporate executive positions in fashion, hospitality, telecommunications and with a multi billion dollar global real estate development Company, LA  founded The Glassford Group Ltd. (TGG), a leadership advisory.

A coach, speaker and passionate advocate for women, L.A. believes strongly that prioritizing our wellbeing and reconnecting to self is some of the most important work she has ever done. And in 2022 at 59 years old, after thinking there had to be other women experiencing some of the same things, L.A. launched ‘Unlocking HER’ a Women's WellBeing Luxury Retreat that she personally curates and hosts in Costa Rica each year.
