#019 The Trinity Explained Through Scripture

Welcome to Scriptures Revealed Podcast

What is the Trinity, and is the Trinity actually taught in the Bible? Christians believe in one God, yet Scripture reveals the Father as God, Jesus Christ as God, and the Holy Spirit as God; three distinct persons, yet one divine being. In this episode of the Scriptures Revealed Podcast, we take a biblical deep dive into one of the most important and often misunderstood doctrines of the Christian faith: the Trinity. Using Scripture as our foundation, we examine what the Bible reveals about God the Father, God the Son, and God the Holy Spirit, why Christians do not believe in three gods, and why the fact that the word “Trinity” does not appear in the Bible does not mean the doctrine itself is absent. We’ll also explore the deity of Jesus Christ, the personhood and deity of the Holy Spirit, the oneness of God, and the biblical evidence behind the Christian belief in one God eternally existing in three persons.

We’ll also trace how the early Church came to describe this biblical truth, from Theophilus of Antioch and Tertullian to the Council of Nicaea, the Nicene Creed, and the Council of Chalcedon, examining why theological terms were developed to defend what Christians believed Scripture had already revealed. Along the way, we address questions like: Is Jesus really God? Is the Holy Spirit a person or simply a force? How can the Father, Son, and Holy Spirit each be God if there is only one God? And where can we find evidence for the Trinity in Scripture? Ultimately, the Trinity isn't merely an abstract theological puzzle; it reveals something extraordinary about the God Christians worship. The Father reveals Himself to us, the Son accomplishes our salvation, and the Holy Spirit dwells within believers and leads them into truth. One God. Three persons. Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. This is the mystery of the Trinity revealed through Scripture.
