Grief can feel heavy, messy, and—if you haven’t walked through it yourself—confusing to navigate when someone you love is hurting. Over the past few years, our family has walked through a few seasons of deep loss, and one thing I’ve learned is how much it matters to have people who show up in tangible, thoughtful ways.
In today’s Memos in the Margins episode, I’m sharing what it’s looked like for our family to be on both sides of grief—receiving care during heartbreaking seasons and learning how to be the village for others when they face their own. You’ll hear practical, specific ways people have loved us well, what’s been most helpful to keep in mind, and even some small, intentional gestures that can mean the world to someone in pain.
Whether you’re in a season of loss yourself or simply want to be equipped to support a friend or family member when that day comes, I pray this conversation helps you feel ready to step in with love, compassion, and confidence. Because we’re not called to do life alone—and carrying each other’s burdens is one of the most beautiful parts of community.
NOTE: This episode includes discussion of grief, loss, and a brief mention of miscarriage.
I pray this episode encourages you!
Hugs!

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist
It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars? The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
