Every once in a while, life gives you a chance to step out of the everyday and into something that has the potential to become a core memory. Recently, I had the gift of creating one of those core memories with my 5-year-old daughter—a girls’ trip that turned into so much more than I expected. From hotel pools to splash pads to coffee shop stops, it was the sweetest reminder of what happens when we slow down and let rhythms make room for joy.
In today’s Memos in the Margins episode, I’m sharing the story of that trip and the lessons it left me with. We’ll talk about the difference between living in survival mode and having enough capacity to notice opportunities for connection, why planning ahead doesn’t take away the magic but actually adds anticipation, and how stewarding your energy makes it possible to say yes to moments that matter.
This little adventure reminded me that core memories don’t just happen—they come when we have the space, foresight, and energy to fully show up.
I pray this episode encourages you!
Hugs!

CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist
It’s 1996 in rural North Carolina, and an oddball crew makes history when they pull off America’s third largest cash heist. But it’s all downhill from there. Join host Johnny Knoxville as he unspools a wild and woolly tale about a group of regular ‘ol folks who risked it all for a chance at a better life. CrimeLess: Hillbilly Heist answers the question: what would you do with 17.3 million dollars? The answer includes diamond rings, mansions, velvet Elvis paintings, plus a run for the border, murder-for-hire-plots, and FBI busts.
