Music.

(00:07):
You're listening to the ADHD podcast, where we dive into the good,
the bad, the ugly, and the spicy of ADHD.
Taking a holistic view from the boardroom to the bedroom, nothing is off limits.
I'm your host, Nurse Coach Seth, and whether you're newly diagnosed or looking
to better understand yourself, I'm here to make the journey of navigating ADHD
a little less messy and help you thrive.

(00:31):
Music.
Hey there, friends. This is your host, Nurse Coach Seth, and I want to welcome you to episode 1.5.
Yep, that's right, episode 1.5, not episode 2.

(00:53):
And I'm doing episode 1.5 because I realized that when I did episode 1, it was really rough,
and I kind of completely ignored the entire episode list that I created for
myself because I looked at it as like, screw you episode list,
you can't tell me what to do.

(01:13):
I'm going to totally riff and not do this medicated and you can't make me say
things that I wrote down for myself to do.
So it came out with me not actually saying the things that I wanted to let you guys know about.
And so here we are not quite between episode two and not quite at episode one.

(01:35):
So that's what we're doing now. I'm kind of filling in the gaps because I went
back and looked at my episode list and I was like, oh yeah, I wrote those things
down because I thought that they
were a good idea and they're still a good idea. So I should share them.
So here we are, episode 1.5, sharing the things that I meant to share in the first place.

(01:57):
So I want to start out telling everyone about kind of who I am, what I'm doing,
why I'm doing it, why the hell I'm doing a podcast in the first place,
and what the plan is for what's coming down the road.
I am a board-certified nurse coach. Board-certified nurse coaches don't necessarily work with nurses.

(02:22):
It does not mean that I won't work with nurses at all.
But what a board-certified nurse coach is, is a nurse who has gone through additional training.
It's seven months of additional coaching training.
And then on top of that, there's a board exam. so
I have been a nurse

(02:44):
for 12 years I did the that additional
seven months of training I've taken the board exam and passed and so I am here
as a board certified nurse coach which means that I am taking my nursing background
basically taking a life coach and a holistic wellness coach mashing those all together,

(03:05):
and then also adding my own flair and bringing my experience and background
as well as my own research and adding in being an ADHD coach to bring this podcast
and this experience and my coaching to you.
So here I am as a board-certified nurse coach and ADHD coach coach for you.

(03:28):
And that's also something that,
what the purpose of this podcast is. It's to kind of fill the gap between what I can do,
in my coaching sessions, in the group coaching that I offer,
in the private coaching that I offer,
in the corporate coaching that I offer, and kind of hit on all these little
pieces that I really drill down on in those sessions,

(03:53):
but also to be able to provide that and come from that place of service from
that nursing background and provide more of that to more people so that more
people can really benefit.
And I'll be honest, there is a piece of this that is coming from a little bit
of a place of spite because there are other ADHD creators out there.

(04:18):
I'm sure that anyone who has found this has found plenty of them on Instagram,
has found other ADHD podcasts, and that's not necessarily a bad thing.
I'm not saying that there's anything wrong with them, but there
have been times where I myself have
listened to them or seen their content or have

(04:40):
just had something relayed to me and it just
got my hackles up because it was
either wrong information that was being
relayed or it was harmful or it
was something that for me
goes against core values and that's
not something that I want to be the only resource that's out there

(05:01):
so like I said I'm not saying that this is that what others are doing is wrong
and if it's something that feels right for you absolutely go and seek that out
but I do want to provide another voice another option especially with what I am sharing a lot of it is,
A lot of it is coming from personal experience, but also because of my nursing

(05:26):
background, anything that can be evidence-based is evidence-based.
Now, clearly, when I'm sharing personal stories or general ideas,
that can't be evidence-based.
But when I'm drawing a one-to-one, anything there is going to be evidence-based.
Also, as this podcast goes on, I'm going to be covering a lot of information

(05:49):
in small all digestible pieces.
Everything from my own story to talking about medication,
talking about what ADHD actually is, how it affects you, really how you can
approach it, how you can understand yourself, the little quirks and all the
different stuff that comes with it.
And then also different pieces for how to manage ADHD.

(06:13):
I'm also planning on having at least some guests on.
I am not sure how regular that's going to be. I haven't totally decided yet.
I know at least one episode that's going to have one specialist on as a guest.
But as we go, we're going to figure it out together.
Also, I really want to make sure that if there are things that you're struggling

(06:36):
with, if there's something that you really want answered or really want delved
into, please reach out. please let me know.
The email is at the end of the episode.
Reach out to me. Let me know what you want covered, what you want to talk about.
I really want to make sure that this podcast is a resource for you.

(06:59):
My plan also is really to try and make sure that this podcast comes out on at
least a bi-weekly basis.
That's the plan as it stands. So I'm going to be trying to get out at least two episodes a month.
I don't think it's going to be more than two episodes a month unless there's
something that comes up.

(07:19):
I'm like, ooh, this should kind of pop out as a little mini episode.
But other than that, plan on two episodes a month covering everything that not
only is just coming from an ADHD perspective, but also health,
wellness, whole person wellness.
And really coming from that whole eight dimensions of wellness,

(07:43):
from the eight dimensions of wellness model that I have personally created,
which is called the eight brocade of wellness,
where it's really looking at it, not as you in all separate pieces,
but everything being interconnected and how everything affects you.
And then everything's just going to keep building. Everything is going to be here to help you.

(08:06):
The other big piece of this, I'm pretty sure I said it in episode one,
but because this is episode 1.5, it's fine to say it again.
These episodes are going to
be short. My goal is to keep these to between 15 and 20 minute episodes.
Because I have ADHD. If you're listening to this, you probably have ADHD also.

(08:28):
I don't want to strain your attention span.
I want to give you this stuff in short, digestible, and worthwhile chunks.
I don't want you here fading in and out on it.
I just want this to be a worthwhile chunk for you.
And if you're someone who potentially comes to the podcast after there are a

(08:53):
bunch of episodes out, maybe you want to listen to three or four in a row,
then that's okay because they're still going to be short.
They're going to be punchy. There's not going to be hours and hours and hours for you to catch up on.
So that's really what my goal is here.
And if there is going to be be a longer one just because there's something that

(09:13):
really needs to be dug into, I promise I will give you a warning.
So that's really what the plan is with all of this. That's how things are going to move forward.
That's really where everything is going to go with this.
It's going to be coming from that nursing background. It's really me coming
to you as a nurse coach in this podcast covering things from that view of the

(09:39):
eight brocade of wellness to talk about ADHD.
Talk about skills, talk about the tools you need, really cover it in a way that
I do it in my coaching practice, in my ADHD program, and in my private coaching.
So I really hope you join me for this ride and reach out, like I said, when you need to.
