(00:00):
It was it was a great time to. Be alive.
It was it was a graveyard of of careers and and probably mental
health. Matt Jordan.
Welcome. Oh, thank you.
Thanks for having me. Welcome to my podcast.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. Thanks for coming on.
Yeah. Who are you?
(00:22):
What do you do? Well, what's the story?
You've really said my name, so Iwon't cover that twice, but I do
as little as humanly possible, really.
That's which I think is everyone's end goal for the most
part. Unless, you know, there's some
kind of, I don't know, David Goggins enthusiast.
But yeah, currently I'm running a podcast studio for hire.
(00:48):
What's? That called.
Pod Studios Limited, which is not really off the ground just
yet. It's, it's live, but we haven't
got a haven't got our website, we haven't really started
advertising, but all the hardware in the it's really to
rock'n'roll, OK. And I stream every now and
again, do live streaming of gambling and things like that,
which is another space that's kind of probably in the
(01:11):
microscope a little bit depending on how people are
doing it, which is another, you know, probably ethically, well,
ethically and morally questionable behaviour.
But yeah, these ways to do it more ethically.
Than the way you do it or. Just no, no, no.
I know you do. I do it in AI, don't.
(01:31):
I'm studently no St. but these, there's some very bad practices
out there. Predatory practices, yeah.
Yeah, and I'm pretty sure the IRD would be quite closely
looking at that eye. Well, they are because the
gambling winnings is not, you know, at least it's like your
whole job, which again, it's pretty hard to kind of like for
(01:53):
them to like text you on gambling winnings.
But you can't you're not supposed to get text on gambling
wins because if you won the Lotto, you know, you don't get
text you whatever and the statesyou do.
But these guys who are not it's not gambling winnings are
getting people to sign up with an affiliate code and then they
get a percentage of that person's loss, which the person
(02:14):
doesn't know that that's like totheir followers and their all
the people go, hey, sign up, you'll get.
A spend a rebate on their spend,essentially.
On their loss. We know that model quite well.
Yeah, Yeah. Well, that's, that's yeah,
that's where you're at. But you know, but it's, it's a
very flooded space now. But I've been involved in that
(02:35):
kind of industry for 5-6 years, maybe not necessarily in front
of the camera, but kind of in the communities and being a
viewer and, you know, yeah, so I've been on both sides of the
fence. But yeah, that's what I'm up to
at the moment and always lookingfor new things to kind of things
(02:57):
that, you know, interest me in and and everything but the
podcast studio at the moment, meand another guy who's involved
in streaming or two other guys, Tim, Nikki and and as offside of
Rob Tickman. Rob.
So the three of us are kind of doing that because we wanted to
do our own podcasts. And then I was like, well, what?
Not going to build a whole facility just for yourself.
(03:18):
Yeah, Well, I wanted to do that anyway because I wanted to get
a, a saving for a commercial property and I was like, well,
how can I make money off it if we, you know, and I was like,
well, people always want studio space.
Totally. And so that's where it's at.
We didn't buy the the, the property we're in.
We're leasing it actually off a dude that we kind of somewhat
know, but I just didn't want to muddy the waters with owning the
(03:39):
the building that we own a business and you know, yeah,
pissing in each others pockets and causing a rift.
But yeah, it's a kind of, I knowthey, they exist, these
businesses, but it's not like there's, there's.
Nothing on the shore mate. It's all like Kingsland Ponson.
Yeah. And there's not like a blueprint
and they're not widespread with Tim's reach and everything.
It's a double edged sword because it's Tiger Cassandra.
(04:01):
When you go, you put it down. Hey man, we're running this
thing and everyone wants to, youknow?
Come and hang out if you. Want to meet Tim and or
whatever? And you're like, no, no, like,
but yeah, we've pretty much got it to the point where it's a
setup where you come in with your external hard drive, you
plug it into, you know, USBC, you press record, you sit down
and go, and then you. So you guys at So Rob engineers
(04:22):
it all and everything. As well.
Yeah, yeah, he's an industrial sparky.
Yeah, 'cause I met him that Yeah, that's right time.
Yeah, it's really true stuff. Yeah, he's he's a laughing.
Man, Yeah, well, he's an industrial sparky.
Yeah, they're always. He did his, he did, you know,
he's a trainer at, what is it, Ecole at the Eco?
Yeah, he did all the, you know, all that kind of like night
classes he used to teach all that he.
Had some great jokes about loop impedance mate.
(04:44):
Yeah, well, niece lappers. Yeah, well I I asked about his
animals. Quite freaking.
Then he always starts making CAT5 cat 6 jokes.
And you just. Yeah, I can't wait till these
cat 9 or something and it's cat is 9 lives or something to that
effect. But you know, it's all data
cable. Yeah, you get they get pretty
horny over it, Yeah. Well, you know, you're going to
have your patience and I'm glad he's passionate about it.
(05:04):
There'll be some people listening now.
We're getting a bit. Yeah.
Spicy, yeah. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Yeah, yeah. Pressing the Yeah, you're.
Large banks evacuated, Yeah. But yeah, no.
And like, to be honest, we need like Robbie good, because he's
all business and he knows how todo shit where we don't know how
to do. Like I can come up with great
(05:26):
ideas, but he's like, yeah, that's not feasible.
Yeah, yeah, you can't do that. So yeah, you need someone who's
got the technical know how and then, you know, we'll kind of
add something to it. But yeah, it's just one of those
things we're just about to kind of really go large with it.
And then Tandy, because it's close to my place.
(05:47):
They both live in Taranaki, which Tim's moving to Canada
actually, but I don't know if he'll commute or or what there,
but we'll we'll work that out. Yeah, we'll get out in the wash.
But yeah, that's what's happening at the moment.
Kill and then going back becauseobviously there's quite a lot
before this. So you know, obviously at one at
(06:07):
1. Point you had.
Yeah. You had, you know, for a lot of
years you had regular 9 to fivesas it were.
And then it kind of kicked off with SPM, right?
Yeah, well, that's a weird chainof events that lead to ESPN.
Well, which was shipped as Mondays, which is like a alcohol
reviewing thing. And you know, working through
(06:33):
the recession, obviously you andI both lost our jobs and we, we
both got a job and, and hospitality business, which
probably was one of the best andworst things to happen to two
guys like us, boisterous young guys getting sex from the trades
going into the coalface. As far as customer service, we
(06:55):
had a lot of life lessons there, but everyone there was down and
out. Yeah, it was.
It was a great time to. Be alive.
It was it was a graveyard of of careers and and probably mental
health and everyone was in the same boat.
Yeah the tipper bucket himself. But yeah, but yeah, so lose my
(07:18):
job then get working there. I was obsessed with not losing
my job again because it was fucking embarrassing.
And then, you know, we went through and we all kind of after
a while moved out of out of thatplace into our own careers.
I went into automotive and I didn't spend any money and they
had to pay me out because I had so many hours.
(07:40):
They paid me out. That's.
Right, because you, you were doing like 80 hour weeks.
Well, so was I at one point doing 80 hours on the regular.
There, Yeah, I'm cracking like 100 hours like quite a few weeks
in a row yeah. And we never took a day off
either. Like like I would have roster
down. So the one I think it was like 3
months in a row with every public holiday.
And then so when they because inlike 3 1/2 years, I never took a
(08:01):
holiday. So they had to pay me out like
40 something $1000 in holiday pay.
And so I had that money and thenwhen I started my started again
in automotive somewhat, althoughin, you know, automotive and
then got the opportunity to buy a house miraculously through one
reason or another through because of my dog.
And that was early. Early on, yeah.
(08:22):
Yeah. What?
Mid 20s. I was 23, I think, yeah.
And so I bought that place and then had no money and once again
was miserable. So started, you know, you don't
do anything the whole week. You know you're having, you're
going, you're going to bed earlyfor dinner.
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
(08:43):
Yeah, and I was cleaning toiletsis like a second job as well.
And then yeah, it was great because most of because it was
at my the only place I was working.
So it was like my own frigging truck and trailers anyway.
So it was just, you know, it wasinsult to and, you know,
working. In a different environment,
every day, new and exciting. Places.
Yeah. So yeah, I started on the Monday
(09:05):
because I got paid on Tuesday. I was like, well, like Monday
was the worst day of the week anyway, because you've you've
had probably a shit weekend anyway and you're going into the
fact the last thing, the one thing I want to do on the Monday
is get on, get on the piss. But I've never had any money, so
I'd buy the worst alcohol I could probably find.
And then I started reviewing it on my own personal Facebook page
for my own friends and got encouraged like you need to.
(09:27):
You should make a page about this.
I remember, I remember you did it and, and, and because you
were always such a bloody entertaining bugger anyway, just
on a personal level and we were like, you need to do something
online or on socials and you were a bit like you were a
little bit apprehensive or standoffish at first.
Yeah, well, you're just, you know, and and it will come up
(09:50):
later, but, you know, people canjust take a snapshot of
something and they think this iswhat's going on or it's like a
32nd video or whatever, which did kind of happen.
But you know, you get used to the critics because after a
while you, it's just you get some horrible messages, you
know, fucking kill yourself. And you're like, I'm trying, you
know? It might be slow, but that's
(10:13):
what I'm doing. Give me a chance.
Always underachieving. But yeah.
And obviously that kind of went on for a bit and it was
entertaining for like, you know,a couple of 100 people.
And then, I don't know, at some point it just went off.
So what? What was the first one that went
viral, if you will? Oh, the first one, hard to say.
(10:34):
I remember there was one that got 2000 views and I thought
that was massive and I was like oh man.
And then there was one that got like 50-60 thousand trying to
think what it. Was because I remember one the
one where you, you know, usual story, you hold, hold and they
just opened. The dish.
Oh yeah, I think that might havemade Ella's eye or something.
(10:55):
When I chanted in the dish drawer.
Yeah, Powerball. That one went off.
I look at it now like how poorlythough a video because it was
all on the. Phone just iPhone in the
kitchen. Wasn't it?
Yeah. And like you look at look at all
the other people who are making content on time.
They like proper cameras. I was like, I was like, shit, I
really was really phoning it in because I was I had no idea how
(11:18):
that poor, but like it didn't seem to matter.
But Nah, there was one of that and probably the one where there
was one where I chanded quite badly and I the Chander, the
chandry was always like, if I chanded, I did the whole video
again. I'd film it again.
And then after a while I was like, there was one where I just
like, man, I just can't fucking do that again.
I just have to put that one out. It's a, it's a cock up, but
(11:39):
whatever. And put it up.
And then that one went gangbusters.
I was like. Oh, this is what they want to.
Say they want to see me power. Chander Well, that that because
I feel like you're ahead of yourgame.
I think back in them days, like even if you take like Johnny
Danger and stuff, they had a different idea for every video,
whereas you picked something andjust kept repeating it.
But it was a different scenario every week.
(12:01):
So it was like ATV show. Well, yeah, the but.
Everybody was watching for the hold, hold, like, can he hold it
this week, you know? Well, the yeah, well, The thing
is they got to because I can just spew anytime I want, as you
well know, you've seen multiple times, unfortunately.
It's quite a talent. So, you know, people like, oh, I
can't hold this person. It's like, no, I'm literally
just chatting about people because people think it's funny.
You know the spews get the viewsas what we coined the term.
(12:24):
Yeah. So, so yeah.
And you know, it was as long as it was like, man, this is, it
got a lot of traction. It got to the point where like,
you know, I knew there were people in high places watching
it, but they couldn't follow it.They weren't allowed to follow
it. Like there's people in certain
changing rooms and they were like, you know, they were
watching it through like some burner account and and you get
(12:44):
invited to stuff, but you can't take pictures with anyone
because they can't be seen with you.
And I'm like, OK, that's fine. Like, but then you're my brain
the whole time. I'm like, where am I going with
it? And for a long time, to be
honest, I just would just do stuff.
I've always once it got to a point where, you know, I guess
to some people, I was of value to them to have them other on
(13:08):
like a podcast or come to a party or something.
You know, a lot of, I think a lot of guys in that position
start going, what are you going to pay me or like on stuff like
that? And I was like, Nah, I don't
give a fuck. Like just I'll just do it.
I'll just do it for free. Or can you even see this or can
you, can you come do this or whatever?
I'm like, yeah, I'll just do it.And I'm like, how much you want?
I was like, I'll just do it. And I did free promo, like
promos, like, you know, Alco companies are like, oh, if we
(13:30):
send you some product, you know, can you, can you do it?
And then we'll pay it. And I was like, just give me the
stuff. I don't want any money.
Just give me the product. And like, whatever I say is
whatever I say, you're not paying me to say.
Because then they've got no control over your eye,
essentially. But also like also I don't have
any. Like if they're not happy with
it, they can't, there's no comeback.
It's like, Oh well, like we would, we wanted like a longer
(13:53):
video or we wanted it's like, well, I didn't get take any
money off you. And also like I'm not paying
you. You can't pay me to say
something that I don't want to say.
But what's the day? It was like, oh, we don't mind
this guy because he just, he just does it.
And normally like I do like they'll be like, fuck, that was
epic. Because it's, you know, and if
it was for like a good 'cause aswell, like anything that was
(14:14):
raising money, you just do it. But the amount of times I, I
did, I just do stuff all the time and I, I didn't really,
they're intentionally or unintentionally like people go
on podcast, like I'll go on any podcast.
Anyone asked me if you do anything, I'll just Oh yeah,
I'll do obviously. Yeah, I know.
I mean, this is really scrape inthe barrel.
I just did everything for free. And you know, a lot of the other
guys are like, you'll fuck mate.Like, you know, you're doing
(14:38):
that for free. Like I'm like, I was like, Oh
well, like cookies, like I've, I've sold a bit of merch and
stuff. I was like, I wasn't like making
any money off it, but I was like, I'm not that money hungry
that I need to charge someone 500 bucks.
Because then like you, it's kindof like you're taking away that
part of that, that relationship. They're becoming transactional
(14:59):
rather than actual. Relationship.
Yeah, yeah, like, and then they know if I'm ringing them up or
talking them, it's not because I'm after anything and vice
versa, like, you know. It's genuine.
Yeah, it's whatever. And like most of them, 99 times
out of 100, their relationship has lasted longer than anything
else. And you still talk to these
people, would, you know, like, they're like, oh, wow, Just that
(15:23):
was way easier than like dealingwith this guy, that guy.
But I don't know if I was doing that on purpose or not to be
honest. Would it?
Would it built a network for? You yeah, it built, it built a
network and and then the biggestquestion is how do I pivot what
I was doing because it was non sustainable.
Because just just let me jump inthere because I remember a few
(15:43):
conversations that we had and I remember was talking about it
because everyone was watching it, but it was kind of
untouchable for anything commercial or like to do
anything properly with at the time.
It almost made it build a cult following but then I remember
you turning around and going this is awesome.
Like it's blown up but I've basically branded myself as a
(16:05):
fuck wet on Facebook. Like how do I What do I do with
this now? Yeah, yeah, it's but also like
you can imagine the the type of people that watch it this and it
was a range of it was a massive spectrum, like I'm talking guys
in their 50s. So I ran into a guy at a funeral
the other day and he obviously he didn't know that I was mates
(16:26):
with the guy, but he was like, holy fuck.
And this guy's probably like fucking 60.
And he's like always showing youa video.
And I can't remember what the video was to my son and his
son's, his son's from like 14. He's like, we were fucking like
just yesterday, we were watchingit.
He's like, I can't believe that you were here.
And I was like, I did that videolike fucking six years ago.
Like, you know, he's like I justI seen that video to be but like
(16:48):
you have all those people and like some of the people,
especially during COVID, like I'd get we'd get into these chat
rooms with like made of mine andthen you'd you'd have all these
other guys come in like friggin chose to Parker and then Tyson
Fury was in it and like we're all sitting there like and like,
you know, the singer of the feelers is in there.
I'm going what the fuck's going on here?
And we're all just fucking spamming like this is bizarre.
(17:08):
But also like you see, there wasan untouchable product.
I painted myself on a certain thing and I, but I wasn't trying
to turn like that that into something else.
I was like, well, obviously I can, you know, create some form
of entertainment. How do I, you know, pivot
without pissing everyone off? Which to be honest, I, I, I
(17:29):
didn't end up realistically touching that audience.
I didn't, you know, with going into streaming, but you know, I
got a an opportunity to through because of because of that
content and doing content for another streamer through a
casino where they go, well, we'll, we'll give you half your
losses back if you want to stream where I because they know
(17:50):
I'm I've always been into gambling and punting like big.
Big time. Oh yeah, yeah.
To my benefit. Put your teeth on the pokies.
Oh well, you know, I know, I know.
My worry on the brickies left. Yeah, you do indeed.
Mate, yeah, I just, I don't knowwhy that there just seems to be
some kind of affinity with. I don't know.
You've definitely got some spectrum going on with those
(18:11):
machines. But I remember when we were kids
and you'd be in the Albany pub just pulling out 900 bucks like
this every two weeks. I don't know.
You might have been there. The time where I won the jackpot
there on Turtle Treasure and I went there with Turtle Treasure.
I was, I was, I was a sober driver that night and I had like
$10 and I was like, oh, I've only got 10 bucks.
I'm not getting on the purse railroad.
I drove there and I was like fucking I'm put it in the pokies
(18:34):
and the jackpot was like 996 andevery machine was occupied and I
was just tapping away at 50 scenes and I just keep telling I
was like jackpots mine. I'm fucking part of all.
Just give it to me now. I fucking got it and I just keep
getting feature after feature. I got up to like 1000 bucks and
then I won the jackpot. Yeah.
And all the old boys like you can't be serious.
(18:55):
How did how did how's he done there?
And I was like, I just, I was like, Oh my God, I actually did
win it. And then I got up to like 20,
three, 2400 bucks and then cashed out.
And the guy behind the counters,I don't know if we've got enough
to might have to go to the bank.I think I gave someone like like
60 bucks. I said here's the money for the
taxi home. I'm out of here, boys.
See you later. We know.
(19:17):
But yeah, I don't know. I've always that impending.
I just was always been pretty lucky.
Affinity for a day. Yeah, I don't know.
I just. I've always, yeah, been pretty
lucky with that kind of stuff. Like, you know, I won three meat
rifles at elderly pub the other day as well.
What reason? Yeah, one, someone studying beef
curtains. No, she wasn't there, but.
(19:41):
Yeah, he's retired. Yeah, no, I was 3 in Iran.
I was like oh and then I saw I was like what butcher it was
from and I was like they shut like 3 weeks ago.
Forgot it was frozen. I'm sorry to.
Game to my parents in the. Yeah, and Joy, thanks for
letting me stay. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
You might want to throw that out.
But anyway, yeah. So getting it to the the the
(20:03):
streaming side of things and then kind of starting again
doing that. Before we move into this, just
one last question on SPM and stuff.
What scale did you get to with it?
Like what were your biggest views and all that?
Sort of stuff like I think like 50-60 million on one, it was on,
it was on the the drill pump 10.Yeah, yeah, yeah.
(20:25):
That one was on Tosh Point O andridiculous.
That's when you were doing the Legion air caps and all that
stuff. That was on, Yeah, that was on
Tosh .0. They've been on Tosh .0 once or
twice. I was hoping to get a web
redemption, which because I was a big fan of Tosh .0.
They don't even ask you to use the clip, they just fucking use
it, which I don't care anyway. It's not like I was going to be
like a, you know, oh, the other thing that I know one news or
(20:49):
one or three used some of my videos for like some campaign
against and like my grandma. Oh no, it wasn't my grandma, my
aunties and stuff. So we're not just because I've
got no fucking idea. My parents hated it and you know
they. I remember seeing that Clippy on
the rock. Yeah.
And then? Mum and Dad were staying with
you at the time while they were building the house and you're
like sculling pests on the phonewith the rock at the back
(21:11):
garden. Yeah, that was like at my house,
by the way, during COVID, DuringCOVID, which was try that when
you're 30 something years old. Holy shit, brain damage.
Gold pests for a living. Yeah, I know.
Yeah, I think they got in deep shit for that too.
They got Broadcasting Standards Authority fine or something.
(21:32):
Well, it was bloody good. So basically you gave up your
health and your reputation for anumber of years to entertain the
world. Yeah, it's just something that
kind of it also kind of, I wouldn't say it's sprawled out
of control, but certainly I think people thought when you
meet people when especially young people who don't seem to,
you know, obviously you, you don't want to sit here and bang
on like an old boy's thing or the younger generation, But you
(21:55):
know, you sit there having dinner with someone and they're
like come and like. Come on, like it's going there.
You know, like I'm. Having dinner with parents or
something. Like a different.
Time and a place like I'm not going to be scaling friggin you
know and like you know people always trying to get you to do
stuff like a like a monkey type thing, but that's you know, you
can't get angry because that's kind of what you created you
(22:17):
know like it's well. You probably, you know, you
obviously didn't set out to do. That no, no, but it's like
that's just the double edged sword of it.
So that's the way it is. But yeah, like that's, yeah,
some of the some of the things that you end up smart, like I
agreed to go to like a bachelor party down the other end of the
country once. Like stuff like that.
(22:38):
I'm like, what am I doing? And you did the Somerset?
Set oh, that was good though. That was good, apart from being
spiked, but yeah, yeah, yeah, that was bad as.
Soon as it went dark and you're just.
Oh mate, I was, yeah, I was reading the inside of my own
eyeballs. Well, it was not good.
But yeah, the Somersets gig, I did that twice.
That was fucking fun and like. Where is it?
(22:58):
It's in bum fuck. No, no, it's just on the
outscoots of Crosschurch and Oxford.
Yeah, it's not that. It's not that, you know, it's
rural, but like it's not, you know, Christchurch, everything's
rural once you move the city. But no, that was a good gig.
But COVID kind of took that awayfor for those guys.
But that was a fucking that was that kind of stuff is like quite
(23:19):
fun. And there's a few things that we
wanted to get off the ground butdidn't quite something like me
and Joe Damon were going to do this thing where which we're
going to do this thing. And then like, honestly, like
he, I think COVID had or whatever, but he ended up doing
COVID had to get a big time. And he's really back into his
stand up. But we were going to go into the
(23:40):
streets and interview people in the streets, in the nightlife.
Yeah. And then like not long after
that, like everyone and I was like, oh, we've missed the boat.
Like fuck. Like it's been done.
It was being done in Australia and in everywhere.
Like all, there's a no. Break the dreads eye and.
Yeah, this bread gang or something like.
That, yeah. But like honestly, like like
probably 8 months before that wewere going to go do that and I
(24:01):
was like fuck, we've missed the box.
Messed up. Like but also the nightlife in
Auckland is being killed. That's also missed the boat.
Yeah, it's all been, it's just been murdered by curfews and all
sorts of shit. So yeah.
So yeah, that was a shame because that would have been
quite funny because there's someabsolute cretins out there.
But yeah, yeah. So, so how so obviously you were
(24:24):
talking about trying to figure out how to pivot and then the
streaming opportunity came up. Where did that come from?
Is that off the back of SPM? Yeah, yeah, off the back of it
pretty much. But but yeah, like I never
streamed onto the ESPN page or anything because like they
(24:44):
didn't follow me to see gambling.
They followed me to for those piss reviews and stuff like
that. So I although like I could have
gone straight into like a mass of audience.
I was like, I'm not doing that because just the, I don't know.
I don't. It just doesn't.
I get fucked off when people do that.
When they, you know, totally change the content in.
Your life like if you're, if you're still doing the original
(25:06):
content and doing that. Like I didn't want to do that
stuff anymore. Not just like for the obvious
reasons, but I've done it for like 3 years and I was like I've
pretty much done everything. And lost the love for it as
well. I.
Yeah, it became like it used to be fun and then I used to look
forward to it. Then it turned into a bit of a
chore. And, you know, the further and
(25:26):
further you go down the rabbit hole with social media, the more
you know, shit like you're just sick of dealing with, you know,
negative people. So you're like, I'll just, I'll
just drop that and start something else, which I did did.
You have some pretty horrendous interactions off the back of
that with like DMS and same. Oh yeah, I hit the.
Streets and what? Dude I had this one where I
(25:47):
shared a meme and I didn't I didn't know where the original
picture was from and it was likeit was during COVID and like
everyone was like trying to get into pack and save all the time
down. In Yeah, yeah.
Yeah. And it was like you couldn't
swing a cat in there. It was fucked.
The lines were, you know, it wasshocking.
And everyone would go at the same time and they'd all try and
get the toilet paper. So anyway, the, the main was
(26:09):
like pack and save Glenfield right now.
And it was a picture of a whole lot of people in like a airplane
hanger. But apparently it was something
from like Iraq or something. Because I'm hot.
I didn't know that. I don't even, I don't watch the
news on anything. But they were trying to get onto
a plane or something like, I don't know Anyway.
So it was deep play politically.Yeah, but it wasn't like
anything about that. It was about yeah, package save
(26:29):
that that obviously, you know, me being probably, you know, I
mean, it's a name anyway. I probably should have done some
due diligence, but the reaction it got like some social justice
warrior, I guess you'd call it an Auckland.
Who's for those people like, youknow, rights.
I don't know if it's Iraq or I'mlike, excuse my ignorance.
To be honest, I can't remember, but they said like, fucking
(26:51):
cancel this guy. He's a comedian, turn up to his
shows because it's his comedian. And I think turn up to his shows
and fucking like boom and all the stuff.
And I'm like, well, I'm not a comedian.
Like I don't have, I don't do stand up.
That's what they're trying to cancel.
And then I just getting all these people starting to kill
me, kill my dogs, sending my sending my address to me, like
(27:12):
telling me where I live. So I don't like how the fuck do
they know where I live? Like no, don't they know where I
work? Nobody fucking turned up.
No, no one turned up. But it didn't stop me from like
going OK, yeah, someone, but like I'm talking like serious.
I mean, like, I'm talking like probably like 7 or 800 because
it was like not like exclusive to Kiwis.
It was over there, so overseas. So they were fucking going
(27:36):
ballistic. So I had to turn everything onto
private and shut everything down, delete my LinkedIn
account, which had my place of work on it, delete everything I
possibly could. And I was like, sorry, I've
deleted. I'm still getting messages like
a week. And I was like, I deleted it a
week ago. You've only seen that guy's post
now. You don't the post isn't even
there. But yeah, it was just shocking.
And I was like, fuck me, you could have just messaged me to
(27:58):
say, hey, I don't know if you realize this is, you know what
this is you just, you know, probably deleted it.
It's insensitive. Rather than going fucking, you
know, get him, you know. So that was like, that was
probably the I was really fired up.
I was so angry with that becauselike, I was just like, what a
fucking douchebag. Like just literally just talk to
(28:18):
me. But we've just, I think it's
calming down now, but we have just been through a long period
where people just live to get outraged, especially on the
Internet. I love getting Yeah they.
Love that anything they can tearsomebody down about or say
that's not appropriate or yeah, police it, then all about it,
you know? Yeah, but.
The other thing is like, people don't stop.
Like people get offended a bit more, pissed off about stuff
(28:41):
because someone else has broughtit to their attention.
It's like if you didn't see that, you wouldn't even know and
you could just go on with your life.
Like someone's someone's gone. Hey look, how fucking does this?
Fuck you angry like. Just if you see it, you don't
like it, like the worst you can do is make like ruin other
people's days with it. Like fuck, just fucking fuck it
off. Like get it out of here.
But oh dude, like, like I got there with some of the stuff I
(29:04):
did with some of the stuff I see, because half of those
videos were like the, you know, the stuff I used to say.
Before. And I just always off the top of
my head, like whatever I see, I seed.
But people be like, oh, you know, like some of the stuff I
look when the food start, these words you're not even gonna say
on the incident anymore. Yeah, and I'm like, fuck, it's
(29:25):
one of the best ones to say. I wish it didn't mean that I
wish it means. Yeah, that's one of my favorite
phrases. Which I wish that meant
something else so I could say that like don't associate it
with that. I just want to say that word.
Sounds nice. Yeah, it's just that's that's
bad. I should be honest.
But yeah, no, that was that whole yeah, that was bad.
(29:47):
But that was also during like COVID and stuff and people just
went fucking crazy man, like. Everybody was up to air anyway.
Oh, you just look at some of thestuff that was going on, even
like the stuff that were, you know, I'm not a, you know, I
don't want to go into any rabbitholes here, but like some of the
stuff that like. Are you talking vaccine?
Nah, not they're just like, you know, I just I saw something the
(30:08):
other I fully forgot, like having a scan and every I was
going somewhere and they still they had still had their QR code
up and I was like, oh man, I forgot that that's fucked Like
that was so that was such a painin the.
Ass there was, there was certainly ways around it, Yeah,
I've been told. Yeah, I bet I know from from who
as well. Friend of a friend.
Yeah, yeah, and super. If we're gonna talk back soon,
(30:32):
we should get him on here, yeah.We shouldn't.
I can't be bothered. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Did I forget to mention I don't care?
Yeah, yeah. Yeah, he's got a new one.
I'll I might tell you. Afterwards, But yeah, like just
the stuff that happened in online, just just, it was, it
was the best of times and it wasthe worst of times.
You know, some of the shit that some of the some of the funniest
(30:54):
content and some of the most toxic shit on.
But yeah, that's like when I started getting into streaming a
bit more, which again, like because my parents were forced
to live with me. Long story short, they were
without a house house during COVID because of they were
building a house, They sold the house.
The house had to stop being built and they were caught in no
man's land. So they had to live with me
(31:15):
during COVID. But I'm shut in my room doing
streams like, you know, gamblingonline and and I come out and.
Your mom's like, how's your gamedoing, Matthew?
Yeah, yeah, yeah. And I'm gonna get out.
Fuck off, Mom. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, Where's
my ramen? But yeah, like coming out, I was
(31:37):
just started cleaning up like cash wise and they'll be like,
you're only in there for 2 1/2 hours.
I'm like, yeah, yeah, had a good, had a good night.
And they're like, they didn't understand the SVM.
They thought it was just self-destructive behavior and
they certainly don't understand streaming or anything like that.
And it's, it's, I just don't even, there's what I was at the
(31:57):
place the other day and I was watching Tim Nikki, who owns
that podcast business with me. And I'm pretty sure my parents
have met him. And like dad's like, does this
guy work with you? And I was like, yeah, you've I
own a business with him. And then like, and then, and
then like 5 minutes later, he's like, do you know this guy?
(32:19):
And I was like, you've asked me questions about him, like about
his blackjack thing before. What are you talking about?
And he's like, is that Tim Nikki?
I'm like, it's like, that's why I just don't tell them anything
because it's just like they ask you questions, but I don't think
they really want to know the answer.
Not because of any nefarious. So there's they're just like,
they're just confused by everything when it comes to
streaming. They're like, totally.
(32:40):
Well, I don't get it. Why do people watch this?
It's like, but it's you don't need to understand it because
we're not trying to get you to watch.
Don't worry about it. Nearly 70 years old, like you've
got no idea what's going on, butsurprise, you can wipe your own
ass. Yeah.
Because, well, Randall can i't. I'll get him AB day for.
No, because I think even even Oz, maybe a bit older, we're the
(33:04):
we're sort of the older end of the generation who just managed
to grasp onto social media, podcasts and all, and the power
of it. Because obviously when I sort of
put this forward as an idea, everyone's like, why would you
do a podcast for a business? Yeah, yeah.
You know, and trying to explain that and, and just the, the
exposure that it gets you buildsyour brand, all that sort of
(33:26):
stuff and the like. Oh, it's also like, I mean, if
you have to go in and see a business or something and they
go, Oh, I know this guy exactly. But like any anything you can,
any content you can put out there as a business is a steep
in the right direction because there's just so many that aren't
because of the like you say likewe're the probably the very top
(33:47):
end of like that first kind of tick generation.
Yeah. And there's still guys I know
they're just, it's not like choice that they're ignorant of
it. They're just like, oh, I don't
engage with it or whatever. But anyone?
That's all that soaking in. We'd need to grab onto it
because the overtake was so fast.
Yeah, Yeah. Because, you know, we're sort of
(34:07):
the last generation who grew up without Internet for the first
few years and all that sort of stuff.
Dial up and shit when you did get.
It yeah, I know. But yeah, every time your
parents walk in and you just sign in.
From a blank screen, yeah. What are you doing?
Just powering down you're. Trying to turn the volume off.
(34:31):
Jesus. Oh yeah.
Why is there so many viruses? You'd load up a picture and you
know you'd be finished by the time it got.
To the shoulder, Yeah. Keyboards glowed to the Yeah.
I used to have a cover. Yeah.
Oh, splash. Yeah, Splash point.
Anyway, moving on. Yeah, we'll leave Heather out of
this, but stop that. So, yeah, going on from that,
(34:57):
obviously got the opportunity going into the streaming, which
I don't fully understand either,to be honest.
No, not really in that world. Is that like, is that how you
make a living these days? Now what?
Several streams? No, it's not.
You know, it wasn't until not long ago I stopped, you know,
working and then you. Two years out.
Yeah, but you know, I've kind ofhad bits and pieces doing odd
(35:19):
jobs. Like people still try and I me
for random stuff as well, which again, most of the time I'm
like, Oh yeah, I'll just, you know, there's been a couple of,
you know, means we have all things I've done for free and
stuff like that. But, you know, Mooch still flog
off Mooch from time to time. That was one of the other
things, the SP and where where they did actually make a bit of
money selling Mooch and battle. So, you know, I didn't want to
(35:44):
be in the position where I'm posting.
I'm doing a video just to sell something, you know, it's just a
kind of hollow existence. But yeah, I still do a lot of, I
do a lot of stuff like consulting and stuff in, in the
gambling space as well, which isa bit, you know, intermittent.
But yeah, like of I made enough money before I left work that I
(36:09):
kind of, you know, things would have to really go bad that I'm
worried about going back to work, especially with the like,
you know, the frequency of of, you know, wins and stuff.
I'm gonna just poured a bit of money into that business now and
hopefully we should see some money coming out of it sooner
rather than later, so. Yeah, open the doors and get the
wheels. To yeah, but I'm I'm certainly
(36:30):
not in the in the mindset that I'm like worried about lot, you
know, I quite like the idea of kind of going back and every you
know, like a like having a job because yeah, like it seems to
be a very common theme with especially other content creator
and stuff. They're trying to stop work as
(36:50):
soon as humanly possible, like which I was kind of the
opposite. It's like I'd rather work, but
like a lot of them, they don't have a house.
They don't have what did you fucking?
You had a few by the time you left.
Work Yeah, yeah, I had two houses.
I saw one as well. I saw.
So it's just, I've got the one properly now because I'm saving
(37:10):
up for the commercial. But yeah, yeah, like a lot of
them, like they just because thecasinos or casinos are always
chasing everyone. Like at the moment it's rife
with real bad practice and illegal, illegal shit too.
But you know, the exchanges are like, oh, do you know this
person or that person? Can you help them get inside?
(37:32):
Nah. Like I don't want to, I can help
you, but like not if you're going to because the casinos, a
lot of them, they're operated atMalta.
So you're looking for good operators to be on it, Yeah.
If they want to. If they want to stream and
they're not, you know, reliant on, you know, me bankrolling
them or something like that. But yeah, stuff like that.
(37:52):
And I kind of helped manage the team of streams that my thing
because streaming is also as a streamer and, and seeing other
streamers, the other scenery there in university kind of have
to be like you're sitting there in a room talking to all these
people and you're the centre of attention.
And, and a lot of them are not the guys who are with me, but a
(38:13):
lot of them are egocentric and like they're always trying to
find out or like find out what someone else has got and, or
seeing someone else's audience maybe and going, oh, they
shouldn't have as much. I'm going to maybe disparage
them on stream and stuff. And and I'm going to slag him
off to his followers so that they come and watch me, which
(38:35):
that's not how it works really. It's.
You've got to add value to them and be better than them.
Yeah, well. You're going to be better than
your last stream. That's what you've got to be.
It's not you don't have to be better than them.
You just have to be better than yourself and just going.
I need to be. If that person's got more
viewers than me and I think I'm better than them, then I'm not
doing a good enough job. And you know, if you if you're
(38:58):
more supportive of it, it's the same principle as taking money
off of you. You're some more more supportive
of other streamers. It generally comes back.
That's how it works, but a lot of them they.
Don't Rising tide and all that. Yeah, they don't kind of think
like that. There's enough people in the
world for everyone to get enoughfeels.
It's not like there's a finite like, oh, these 2000 people
viewing. Comping them out every day.
There's people, there's people there all the time.
(39:19):
But yeah, like it's, yeah, it's a weird, it's a weird industry
that's new and so. It's a bit Wild West at the
minute I. It's Wild West and also like you
were doing stuff when we're making it up as we go along.
As far as new things to do in streaming, like the other like
Coon is one of the biggest streamers and like for gambling
(39:41):
in Australasia, he's always coming up with new competitions
and things for people to win andstuff.
And it's not around signing up to a casino.
It's around like you have to watch the stream and you get to
go on like a bingo card or you know, and you, you know, stuff
like that. That's what a lot of it's about.
So, you know, between me and theother guys, it's that's what we
come up with a lot now. One of the things that was the
(40:03):
last shoot of that was Turban came up with the idea of doing,
you know, extra amount of followers every time.
He gains new followers. He puts that amount of money on
a blackjack hand. Yeah.
It's a very similar thing, very similar situation with EPM of
like Taylor trying to figure outan exit strategy.
He's like, I don't know, when itwas about 70,000, he was like
(40:26):
fuck, I don't know, this is like.
This is a bad idea. Yeah, because he doesn't really
want to be famous at all. He's just happened to stream to
his thousand people or whatever. And he's, you know, he worked on
the farm. He was in Canada when it
started. He had to go back and work on
the farm for a bit and Taranaki, but the same thing of like, holy
shit, how do we get out of this now?
Because this is like, I'm going to snowball.
I'm going to end up losing a friggin fortune at some point.
(40:49):
And, you know, he he ended up going to a casino that basically
he's got a partnership with them, an open partnership, which
is he's explained, but you know,he's a lot of people the same
thing all like, Oh yeah, fuck a posse of you know, he's like,
oh, well, that's the end of that.
Well, get he wanted to manifest a million and then, you know,
people are never happy. But then people aren't happy
that he risks so much money and it's just can't keep everyone
(41:12):
happy. So yeah.
That that's it. You're gonna get positive and
negative as long as you've got eyes on you.
If you're. Yeah, the worst thing you can do
is go through and read your, your, your, your critics and.
Yeah, I. I used to do it.
I used to go to every comment and reply to people and pick a
file with it. Like fuck up, lose their own
fucking shit on your driveway. Like, you know, just saying shit
like that, like, you know, and then like stuff that was funny
(41:33):
enough to get other people to kind of attack them as well.
But and then I got to I'm like, what am I doing here?
I'm wasting so much time and energy and like, you know, and
now it's like you can tell when you kind of someone doesn't like
you, they'll go to multiple platforms once they get kicked
off 1 to try and antagonize you.And you just go, mate, let me
know how much rent I owe you because I'm living rent free.
(41:53):
Yeah, you're here. Yeah.
And then you just really, reallydrive them nuts.
Yeah. Yeah, so, so do you still enjoy
it all? Like obviously leaving work must
have been quite scary to put allyour chips into it and then so
do you now feel pressure when you stream to perform and make
it better or is it just something you still enjoy?
(42:14):
For type of streaming I'm doing,I'm just maintaining it, yeah.
So, you know, it's not somethingthat I look at and like I want
to be doing this in four or fiveyears or whatever.
That's why I look at stuff like the podcast studio and stuff,
stuff that's a passive income. Like once it's, you know, it
owes X amount once, once I get that and I get my own, like I
(42:38):
want to get a commercial property and stuff like that.
Once I get that, then you've just got something rolling in.
And I think, yeah, I think something, I feel like there's
probably something else in that space that I probably haven't
recognized yet, maybe within whether it be studio space, I
think there's probably somethingelse there that I, I might,
(42:59):
might be able to dip my toes into.
But yeah, there's certainly somethings online that I've had a
couple of things come my way that I'm, you know, people like,
would you want to invest in thisand that.
And it's like, I don't mind the idea.
I just don't want to invest withyou.
Like, yeah. Yeah, yeah, great idea.
Yeah, yeah. You seem like you've hit it a
(43:22):
few too many blows to the head. That's that's a big answer.
People something like, you know, real strung out guys come out
with some great ideas. He's just like, I just, I'm not
going to steal your idea and I'mnot going into business with
you, but good luck. You're on to it.
Just change your personality. Yeah, just get off the gear.
Yeah, totally. But yeah, no, it's yeah, I'm
just, I'm probably looking for something else a little bit
(43:44):
that's, you know, at. The end of the day though, as
you've done so far, you just keep charging, you keep meeting
new people, doing different things, and it opens doors for
you, right? Yeah, well, that's the thing.
I. Mean it.
I mean it sounds like it's goingpretty good mate.
Every time I try and get older you're either in Vegas or
Aussie. So what's the story there mate?
Well, the first Vegas trip was that first NRL last year, which
(44:06):
you were like Warriors aren't playing while you're going.
And I was like, I've never been to America.
It's an excuse to go. And that was full blown that
trip like, oh man, like I did some.
Yeah, that was like that was a very, very pretty short trip.
It was like land, land, maybe Wednesday, fly out Sunday maybe
(44:29):
or or maybe. Oh God, do you think that's
intense? Then Tim got invited to Power
Slap in UFC and I got he's like, well, my.
Well, this was the dad of White.Yeah, he's like, my manager
needs to come or whatever. And so.
So you're the manager. Yeah, the manager.
So I think I'm just a buffer between him and people who want
(44:49):
a slice of his because like, he's quite a nice guy and he's
like, I just need someone to come and make sure that yeah,
hey, fuck off. He's not interested.
To the enforcer. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
The ugly muscle. So that was, that was way worse.
That was like fly in Friday, flyout Monday morning or something.
That was brutal. Oh, I might be flying Thursday,
(45:12):
fly out Sunday, maybe. Yeah.
But that was like, yeah, flying Thursday night.
Yeah, I slept there too. Yeah.
For a Thursday to Friday. Yeah.
And it was just full blown the whole time.
Yeah. That was in the middle of
winter, sorry, in summer. And it was like 44° like.
(45:33):
Literally does not say unpleasant it was.
Yeah, coming back from that one was hard.
And then obviously I went to Australia a couple of times and
then going to Australia in a couple of months as well.
But when I went to the NRL in Vegas this year, season,
Vietnam, you know, third time around, didn't overdo it.
I spent four days in LA first and in four days or three days
(45:55):
in Vegas, which you don't want to spend more than three or four
days in Vegas just. Too much just over up.
Yeah, you just. Yeah, You just don't need to do
that to yourself. So, you know, actually went out
and did some stuff. Yeah.
Rather than just bend. Yeah, I went with Kern and
Kern's a, you know, he's a bit more responsible.
And he wondered, do we, you know, we went to the pawn shop,
(46:16):
you know, the gold and silver shop, you know, and a few other
things. He's he's he's big on
gastronomy. Oh yes, he went out some nice
feeds. Yeah, apparently so.
I was there. I mean, is your palate come
along at all? Well, it's similar to something
you'd see in a shipping yard with toxic waste on it.
(46:39):
I. I just, I just have like all
these flashbacks to like heatinghell is up in the microwave.
I remember you made bolognese inthe microwave once.
I remember being in a party in dairy flat and we just found
shit in the freezer, put it in the deep fat fryer and then you
had your hands. That's right it all.
Yeah, those triangle things, I just pulled them straight out of
(47:01):
the deep fryer and I was like. Oh that's hot.
I was like, they've been in there for like 3 seconds, you're
going to burn your hand and eat something raw.
And I did one of those things and burn my hand.
I don't know how I didn't somehow burn.
There's hot, boiling hot water, sorry, oil.
And just, yeah, that was when wefound bullet holes on the side
(47:21):
of the house. At that time, I think that was
someone was taking, someone was taking a shot at us.
And fair enough. Yeah.
Fair enough. Yeah, yeah, we had that.
That was the pirate beer night. That was, yeah.
Yeah, I think that was. They still sell it.
That was one of the first times I saw you doing advanced
schooling techniques. Yeah, because you used to have
that massive funnel that you'd basically be a trace.
(47:42):
Yeah, take around. That was a good guy.
Yeah, I've still got a funnel somewhere, yeah.
Yeah, and with that dirty old days I I mean, I wouldn't change
the memories, but I won't go back to it either.
Tell. You what?
I want to drain the sparkle after that of the frost.
Bit of silly string in there mate.
Oh no, like why? We're a hot pool.
It was more like Christchurch liquefaction.
(48:03):
Jerry Brownlee, you shit in the food?
I thought it was a toilet. That shade?
It was one of you. So going back to the Vegas
stuff, what you because you werereal impressed with Power Slap?
Yeah, I again, like, it's not like something I've come back
and started watching, but it wasthe event was really cool and
(48:26):
there's a lot more rules to it than I gave it credit for.
I just thought it was well and it is 2 Neanderthals beating the
living fucking shit out of each other but.
Quite technical. No, Yeah, well, I can't
understand that. I miss like a lot of times.
I miss like they. Don't even cracker.
They're like finger like, you know, they miss my like like a
fraction or like I'm like, wouldn't you just full palm them
(48:50):
on the side of the head and fucking pop pop their eardrum
and that's what you go for? I don't know.
But yeah, they've got to hold their hands behind the back and
the amount of times they get KO it was and there were so many
upsets in it. And I was like, this is actually
quite gnarly. But what I found most
interesting about it is there's two sides to the the arena, the
public. And then we were in the side
with all these Uber famous people, like, you know, anyone
(49:13):
and everyone involved in streaming and gambling.
You know, there's a lot of people that like rattle off, but
people probably wouldn't even know.
But Cowboy Cerrone was there. Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, there's a.
Couple of UFC people there. And spoke to him on Instagram
live once. Lovely guy.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. So I I actually I came home from
work one day. Under this carry on.
(49:34):
And Taitu Ivasa bum bum added Instagram live on and I was like
oh fuck it. I just pressed join and he
answered and I was like oh fuck.Like hey mate, he was like
you're fucking boring. And then just puts me on the
phone to Cowboy Cerrone and had a lovely chat with him and then
got given back to Ty to Ivar. So he just hangs up on me.
(49:54):
Well, yeah, he should have done that for the first.
Place good on him. I was like.
Yeah, that's on those things. I kind of want it to happen.
And it happens. You're like, oh God, no it.
Happened. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
I didn't. I didn't actually.
Want to talk to him? Oh yeah.
So it was full of the. Oh yeah, there's all these
terms. What's this one guy who got, you
know, sketch that like he's a streamer?
(50:16):
Like all these, Yeah, these, allthese like streamers.
These are all Milk Boys were there and stuff like that.
And all those Steve will do. It wasn't even as Missus Z, but
all the milk boys were there. But everyone like all these
events going on and everyone's just networking.
Yeah. And I'm sitting there watching
it like a fucking. Boy, I'm going.
Can you guys be quiet? You know, like I'm just, I'm
sitting there like the only guy sitting down.
(50:37):
There's roses seats with everyone's name on them taped to
the name. Like that's your seat.
And I'm sitting there watching it and, and everyone around is
just like trying to get something out of someone.
And I was like, this is like, itwas like a it's like throwing a
friggin chicken bone in a piranha friggin tank, man.
Like, like, you know, when sketch comes in at the time he
was a massive, massive, big timestreamer.
(50:59):
Like he still is. But you know, you know, what's
that other guy? I show speeds probably.
The big yeah, yeah, yeah. He's he was out like as big as
him pretty much for a while, butthen it felt, well, there's a
few indiscretions which didn't really matter.
He got found that he was doing gay porn at one point.
But, you know, papers to the best of us.
Yeah. Good on.
You know, I obviously know. Yeah.
You spread your butt as my concho, as I recall.
(51:21):
That's right. That's right.
Yeah, but yeah, like Era just swarms around him and he was
swarmed around this guy and I'm just sitting like watching this
thing. Like, what is this?
Like it was just it wasn't interesting.
It was the most soulless existence of every single.
I was like faggot. Yeah, it's not all that's
cracked up to be. Right.
Oh yeah, I was only I'm only need to facilitate term so I'm
just need help to but someone spilled a drink on my lap so it
(51:43):
looked like I'd pissed my pants.So that's why it's a good cover.
For you, for when you're dead. Well, yeah, I had already pissed
them, but no, that was the otherguy Tim brought who was an
absolute liability. You told me.
Yeah, yeah, I've actually spokenabout a few times, so I'll give
Rowdy a break. But Jesus Christ, the guy's just
you don't go up and touch only fence models and say I love your
content. That's just inappropriate,
(52:05):
especially when you've got a three quarter Muggle on your
downstairs operation. No pants.
It's the pattern on the. Pants.
Yeah, it's a plate. It's an optical illusion.
Yeah, but I was certainly an iron and like, yeah, yeah, you
got to be some kind of, I don't know whether a sociopath or
lacking of something that want to be in that kind of industry.
(52:25):
Tim was a fish out of what he was like, oh God, he's like,
this is, he can get along with anyone, you know, he's that kind
of guy. But yeah, even afterwards you're
like, oh, let's go somewhere andjust get shit faced.
This is, yeah. This is.
Horrible. Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah, that
was, yeah, that was. But yeah, I kind of after going
(52:45):
to Vegas earlier in the year, I kind of want to go 2 guys I know
are there now, two other streamers from Australia and I'm
like, oh, I've wouldn't mind going back.
Yeah. Just because we, the rugby and
the footy zone. It's winter.
It's not cold by any means. You know, most days are 25
degrees, 24° at night. It's fucking cold because it's
in the duds, is it? Yeah.
But well, it's not like cold, but if there's a wind on it's,
(53:07):
it's really cold. And are you having a pump while
you're over there like? Here it's the worst I am, but
it's the worst place to gamble because the return to play on
all the machines has all went onall the way down.
So like, oh. Really.
Yeah, like it's really hard to get a win, I think, in Old
Vegas, which is Fremont. Fremont's like something you
see, you know, it's all the, youknow, Golden Nugget and all
(53:28):
these like. Yeah, the old school casinos.
Yeah, but like these like Fremont streets, like kind of
closed in and they've got like zip lines that people were
flying over your head. And yeah, that's where they held
the NRL 360 show there this year.
It's awesome place. It's just like if you've got any
beliefs, so you're just not for you, but you're just like, holy
shit, this shit is like one of these one place.
It's like I've got a bookies. It's the biggest Jumbotron I've
(53:51):
ever seen in my life. I think I put it on my Instagram
story but I don't know if I saved the photo.
Like this thing is like we're all like 3 stories up and it's
like still that big an insider. It's just everything's in excess
basically. Yeah, yeah.
And these, you know, these just chicks walking around with
friggin tits out and this crap, every of these kids walking past
them, it's fantastic. More more camel toes than a
(54:12):
Lepenese shepherd. Yeah, well that kind of we're
going to start on the Moose Knuckles.
But but yeah, like it's just man.
But the old, old Vegas has been a return to player on the
machines there. But still it's not good.
Also if you were to have like 1200 bucks on machine it
automatically locks out and theyhand pay you and take 30% for
(54:33):
tax. It's.
Just a reggae. Yeah, that's why you're better
off doing table games there. But even then it's, yeah, like
it's a, it's supposed to be likethe gambling maker, but it is
like, you're better off going toSky City, Auckland or the places
in Australia. If you actually want to win and
yeah. Like even the pubs in Australia
are better than the pubs in Australia bet 5 bucks or is here
(54:54):
it's 250 and there's unlimited you can win whatever you win
there. You win a 15 thousand $18,000
Jackie in the in the pub there like individual to that machine,
not the room jackpot like that machine can give you that.
But yeah, in Vegas it's just it's a gimmick and people, it's
for yuppies who go. Tourists.
Yeah, go in there. I'm gonna, I've never seen a
poker machine in life, probably. And they're like, Oh yeah, I'm
(55:17):
doing what they do on the TV's, you know.
Yeah. But there's just so much other
stuff there, which the more obviously gone a couple of
times, the more you see. And you're like, man, like one
sort of thing we forgot to do last time was go to Heart Attack
Grill where like they like abusethe shit out of you and they.
Beat you. Oh yeah, Yeah.
Yeah, yeah. Which I couldn't really want to
go. I'm not sure whether because of
(55:37):
the food or because of he's, youknow.
Wants to be dominated. Well, yeah, but but yeah, we
sorry, we went to a few places here that were just fun and you
know, you can't when you every time I'm leaving, I'm like, oh
fuck, we should have gone there. We should have gone there and.
But you don't want to do it in abig trip, you want to do it in
(55:57):
stents, right? Yeah, yeah, I think next time
I'd probably spend more time in LALA was also anyone who's been
to LA now, so it's just a friggin CSIS pet, but they're a
cool place to go. I wanted to go to, I went to A1
theme park, but the other theme park I wanted to do was shot but
went to like some dive bars and stuff and just you know, getting
in. And I've never been to LA, but
(56:18):
obviously I toured the States a few times back in the day with
that bands and it's friggin awesome when you'd start getting
into the underbelly belly of it.Speakeasies just cool spots and
yeah, crazy shit that you see over.
There. Oh dude.
Because every state's like a different country.
I know like, well, I was supposed to go to Texas after
this trip, but everyone who was going is all they all pulled
pit. Yeah.
So I was pretty much got there by myself and I and Coon was he
(56:41):
got there X amount of time and then he left before I left
anyway. So there was times I was just by
myself. I was just around Walker in LA
by myself quite a bit. Just chicken shit out, you know,
There's so many homeless people, cracked out people.
There's pharmacies everywhere aswell, which is bizarre because
they don't have free healthcare, but yeah, yeah.
There's only us in the US who can advertise pharmaceutical.
(57:03):
I know God's eye. Yeah, and we're not lunatics, so
yeah. Some of them we're not,
obviously. Glory Vile.
Yeah. But yeah, like, I wanted to go
to Texas and go to like Austin and check all the comedy stuff
out there. Comedy Mother Share.
Yeah, I want to do all that, butlike, everyone was like a pull
pen, so I was like, Oh well, I'll just have to do another
(57:24):
trip at some point. Yeah, how sad.
I wouldn't mind going to Nashville as well.
Yeah, music. And maybe, yeah, maybe somewhere
like Montana or something. I'm not sure.
I'm not sure what really they'd be to.
Do well, you're going to go be acowboy.
I am a cowboy, just not in the traditional sense.
I'm a certified cocksmith. Yeah, I'm qualified.
Yeah, I believe that. It's definitely the first part
(57:46):
of that sentence. But yeah, I don't know.
It's, I don't know. It looks like it's it's pretty
hard to tell whether Beerick is in a Grateful Ice at the moment
going off the news, but looks like it's kind of hell in a.
Hand, but I think it's in a transitional period.
We just don't know what it's transitioning into.
Oh wow. Careful, yeah, you don't have to
pick which toilet, you guys. Seems like the US is on hormone.
(58:09):
Suppressors are that also controversial fearful back.
Well, look man, it's, you know, it's great to see you're doing
really well and it's been bloodyawesome watching your journey
over the last 1516 years coming from setting the bloody counter
on fire at Snow Planet. That may have happened.
(58:31):
In front of a tour bus of Tahitian tourists.
Yeah, I'm not sure, but well, I reckon, you know, sitting
something on fire, especially a probably a 20 metre Long Beach,
yeah, in front of tourists is probably like a welcome to the
country or maybe a hacker or something.
Well, yes, it was a ceremony. What wasn't a ceremony was when
(58:52):
that 10 year old boy really annoyed you and you burnt his
shoes outside the back door. That's right, I did do that
actually and. You told him to put him in the
locker. You put them in a.
Locker 3 times. Keep trying to put them behind
the counter so I you know, covered them with mess and bring
them. I had.
Do you remember? That I may have done that.
(59:13):
Allegedly. I may have done that.
That could have been. Allegedly.
Do you remember that Asian lady who came up and you know ski
boats? You've got to open them, ride
up, jam your foot in. They're quite hard to get on.
Put them on side no no. She put them on inside, dry them
on, but I gave her like a size 5to start with little fate, and
(59:33):
she's like, no, doesn't fit, doesn't fit.
So I go, I go and like show her how to override.
She's like, no, it doesn't fit. Anyway.
Then she comes back, have a sizebigger.
Yeah, OK, give her a size bigger.
This went all the way up to size15 where she's still got the
class shot and she just put her feet in and then she went out on
(59:53):
the snow magic gap, hit the sideof it and just flew out of the
boots. Just bare feet in the I mean,
what the hell are you doing wearing rental boots and bare
feet anyway? Well, she's got, she's called
something. Yeah.
I thought you're going to say. I do remember that.
The one where the. Well, it happened more than
once. People either got the snowboard
(01:00:15):
or the skis and they put them oninside the building and then
tried to get the door open, the doors, a pool door.
And that's just fucking pulling the pool door into their skis.
And you just sit there going. Yep.
Yeah, just what? I'm just going to watch it for a
bit. Or they'll come inside with them
on. Yeah.
They'll go through the turnstile.
Go. Yeah, yeah.
What do you fucking pillock? He'll just look because it's
(01:00:36):
something different. The same as when you put people
in an airport so they just lose or you're like, I'm just going
to stand in the frigging throughwhales like right in the middle
of the thoroughfare. Like yeah, like, oh, like
freaking watching a frigging stand fish.
What about the girl? I don't know if she's whatever
happened to her, but she the girl who the flew down and
(01:00:59):
double ejected and who had hit the glass and his bulletproof
glass and he had cracked both sheets and she.
Fractured. Her skull broken.
Yeah, she fucked herself up. She was the first aid on her and
she just keep thinking like she's doing that loop memory,
which has happened a few times, that guy, the Harvey Norman
guys. Yeah, yeah, yeah.
(01:01:19):
Remember that guy? That was bad too.
He fucking decided to take on the kicker on skis.
This guy's never skied before, just fully poleaxed himself and
he was the same like like he's thought he just got He goes oh,
looking like he's like wearing the gear covered in snow,
pissing blood. He'd be like, all right, we're
going to, we're going down for aski.
(01:01:39):
Like dude, you've already been for a ski and you flew in.
Trust me, you're no good at. That that flowing from like
Harvey Norman Australia or something.
I hope like somehow this guy sees I see me like I've still
got memory problems. I fucking beat you dude at.
The time as well, we were like, we're we're rental managers,
we're 14 bucks an hour, we're killing it.
(01:02:00):
So yeah, we were quite happy to dig blood out of the snow for
two hours and do first aid on people.
Well, what? You were on TV as well when we
were at Snow Planet I. You have to.
Tackle somebody or something. Oh.
Yeah, there's a couple of things.
There's a couple of things also Ben Majira, me and Melissa, me
(01:02:21):
and Melissa had to do first aid on Ben Majira.
It was because he fell over in the car park.
He was a fucking prick. He was such a dickhead.
He was so shitfaced. He was trying to say drink got
spiked, did flown from maybe Florida, from Wellington or
something. And he was, he had a, he had a
Bloody Mary and he came, he got out of his car and he fell over
(01:02:42):
in the car park and cracked his head open and someone, someone
spiked me. He was supposed to go out in the
snow and try and have a crack ona snowboard And Noah, like,
there's no way. Not out in the umbrellas.
And he sat in that. She's like, they had that MTV
chair or something in the yeah, oh boy, that was cooked.
Everyone was so excited to meet him.
And then after about 15 minutes, everyone was like, what a loser.
(01:03:04):
Out of. Here right?
Because he was at his depths of just being.
On the day, yeah, he was just. Yeah, it was.
Kind of after Viva La Baman's stuff.
Like, yeah, yeah. It was Jackass 3D, what he was
promoting. OK, That's what he was
promoting. But yeah, yeah.
That was like, talk about never meet your hero.
Well, not that he was a hero of mine at all, but you're like,
(01:03:24):
you know. Just how different they?
Are like fuck me, this guy's a mess.
Like and he stunk. Yeah, yeah.
We didn't watch. No, he's unhygienic, Yeah.
Unkempt. Yeah, yes, yeah.
But now, sweet man, I think we'll wrap it up.
What's it's obviously working onthe podcast studio.
Where can people watch your streams?
(01:03:46):
Just on Facebook on DG and BITS.DG and bats DEGEN.
Yeah or any any kick or twitch or YouTube mate Jordan SPM one
one word. But yeah, if you're not into
gambling, don't watch it. You'll probably find it pretty
boring, but. I'm sure there's a few punters
out there mate. Yeah, most.
I think most of the gigs are going over people's seeds
anyway, just random references to movies that no one's seen.
(01:04:09):
That's always been the way. Is this guy autistic?
Just Yohan commenting from Canada, right?
Yeah, yeah. Hey man, I got a new pair of
glasses. Mill Spec.
I can now trench. I can teleport now.
(01:04:32):
Inside jokes. Apologies.
So how do you how do you feel? You feel like you've
underachieved in your life. Or absolutely.
Yeah, OK. That's pretty much what we've
got for Alex today, yeah. Thanks for the interview mate.
Yeah, thanks for having me on again.
Yeah, no, it's good mate. I'll send you an invoice.
Yeah, sweet as hang on, we just spent two hours talking about
how you don't bloody charge. Well, no, I don't charge people.
(01:04:54):
I I, I like, think there's a future.
Now bloody good mate. Thanks for coming on.
Yeah, cheers.
