Welcome to 'Understanding the Science of You' a podcast in which Graham Skidmore will help you discover untapped aspects of yourself and alternative paths to personal freedom and empowerment outside of conventional systems. Throughout this series, Graham will be having candid conversations about the unspoken thoughts and ideas we often keep to ourselves or share only with a close circle of friends.

The goal of this podcast is to delve into our unique personal journeys, shedding light on how each of us finds peace and contentment in our own way. We'll explore how we grow from our initial set of beliefs, shaped by our upbringing and surroundings, and how we find ourselves comfortably settled in a completely different mindset later in life.

In 'Understanding the Science of You,' we won't necessarily be focusing on creating new information but understanding and making sense of what's already out there. The bigger challenge is figuring out how to interpret the immense amount of information available to us. Is it right for us? How does it impact our lives? There are countless ways of interpreting a piece of information and making it meaningful to us in our unique ways.

Graham is eager to interview a diverse group of guests who exhibit intriguing and contrasting narratives, guests who have found peace in living life their way. Some of them might be fully immersed in society, while others may recluse. Our journey here is not to judge or favor one way of life, but to understand the varied paths that lead to the same destination.

By sharing these individual journeys, we hope to uncover what resonates with us and others. Remember, 'hurt people hurt people', but 'heal people heal people'.

(00:00):
Hi, I'm Graham Skidmore, self-proclaimed breaker of molds and builder of bridges.
Great to meet you. This podcast is going to be about talking about the things
that we all think and are sometimes comfortable to actually say and talk to
with each other, or maybe only our small and closest group of friends, right?
The goal with the different guests that we'll have is to help the listeners
understand the science of themselves, knowledge that they can gain by the journey

(00:22):
that the guest is going to talk about.
For example, there's plenty of subject matter experts and plenty of places to
go about information modalities, right?
But understanding how somebody went from being born into one set of teachings,
beliefs, et cetera, and then later on in life found themselves in a totally opposite way.
But yet this opposite way is where they now feel the most comfortable about themselves.

(00:44):
And so now this is where my happy place is, but it's different,
right? And it's not an easy thing to do to be able to figure out how to become
comfortable in your own skin.
The focus of the podcast isn't so much about providing new information is is
about understanding what's available right like so as i looked around
i could find all kinds of information what i
didn't know how to do was what was how to figure out if it was right for me
if it was making an impact on me how to even know if the way i was reading and

(01:07):
interpreting it was really what it was saying because there's a lot of things
that i would rate and then i would ask somebody else and like well that's not
how i read it and so all right well then there's obviously there's more than
one way to figure information out and there's There's obviously more than one
way for it to make sense to different people.
And so the real value then is trying to figure out how do we make sense of the information about it?
How do we turn it into actionable information, into actions that can actually

(01:31):
improve the quality of our life versus just, you know, random trivia.
So the types of people I'm looking forward to interviewing are those that have
got very interesting and contrasting stories.
Those that have found comfort living their own life.
In some cases, that means that they're plugged into society.
In some cases, that means they've reclused.
The value isn't, you know, whether it to me isn't finding should I recluse or should I be in it?

(01:56):
It's that how did two people both get to the same destination with two separate
journeys and being able to figure out which one seems to resonate the most with me and with others?
Because, you know, if hurt people hurt people, heal people heal people.
