“ I’ve been singing for as long as I can remember. As a young girl, every Sunday morning, I would sing in the local pub, and the moment my voice filled the room, the chatter would stop. The stillness that followed felt sacred, as though I was singing into something far beyond myself. Even then, I was connecting to the unseen—a space where healing began to unfold for me. That early experience sparked a lifelong quest to find my voice, not only in sound but in spirit. I traveled far and wide, seeking wisdom from the American Indians, gurus in India, and shamans and holy people, trying to understand the connection between sound and the divine. But it wasn’t until I gave birth to my first son, Tadhg, that I truly discovered my voice. In the throes of labor, I screamed it into existence. In that moment, I gave birth not only to a beautiful being but also to the truest expression of myself. Four years ago, grief cracked me open after the loss of someone very dear to me. It was during this time that I found sound healing in Denmark. I experienced the gongs as alchemists—they took my grief and transformed it into sweetness, surrender, and joy. This profound experience led me to bring my beloved gong, Nibiru, home with me. Since then, sound has become my medicine, guiding me to deeper healing and offering me a way to hold space for others. Today, I work with sound to create spaces where people can reconnect with themselves—a place to rest, release, and be showered in sweet, soothing vibrations. Whether through sound journeys, ceremonies, or my music, my intention is always to offer healing and a return to the heart. My music is prayer. Inspired by the land where I live, I draw deeply from my roots and my ancestors. I am proud to be related to Peig Sayers, one of Ireland’s cultural giants, whose voice carried the stories of our people. My grandparents came from Kerry to Meath through the land commission, and my father didn’t speak English until he was seven years old. There is a profound grief in my heart for the language and culture that was lost, but through my work—singing Irish songs and honoring our traditions—I feel I am helping to heal these wounds. Mother Earth is central to all I create. She teaches me about stillness, surrender, and sovereignty. Through this connection, I find endless inspiration for my sound medicine and for the songs I write—each one a prayer, an offering to connect with the divine. I am also the mother of two teenage sons, who are my greatest gifts and teachers. Their presence constantly reminds me of the beauty and courage it takes to grow, soften, and expand. Sound is my bridge to healing and transformation. It is my offering to the world—a way to hold space for others to rest, reconnect, and remember their own.” Fiona Guiheen
